Welcome back to the show, everybody.
Today's guest is another one of Paul Jack's guests from the past.
Surprise.
It is Dr. Nick Berry.
Dr. Nick Berry is the formulator and mad genius behind essential oil wizardry.
Many of you have heard me talk about the benefits of plant medicines in the past.
Many of you have no idea. Actually, I don't think anybody listening to this has no idea what plant
medicines are, but many of us associate that with psychedelic, psychoactive drugs, which are awesome.
And that's not what this podcast is about. I think we do touch on it at some point, but
we really dive into the power of plant medicine within essential oils and the different
combinations of which that the mad genius, Dr. Nick Berry has come up with. His path to
coming into a deeper understanding of all plants and the combinations and the alchemy that he
really has brought to the table with Essential Oil Wizardry. They're doing a dope little coupon.

That always helps.
You don't miss an episode.
And our episode today is brought to you by, starting with, drum roll please, Amp Human.
AMP Human is a human performance company dedicated to helping athletes at all levels unlock their
limitless potential.
Their latest innovation, D Plus Lotion, is a first of its kind gel-based lotion that
delivers vitamin D directly through the skin.
With limited sunlight.
And during the winter hours, I'm laughing because we had the worst storm in Texas since 1989,
which oddly enough was when I was living in California and they had the big earthquake.
So apparently some shit went down in 1989. Maybe it's the cyclical nature of nature
showing its head again, but hopefully we don't get that for another 40 years.
In any regard, low levels of vitamin D.
I don't think we saw the sun for eight days.
And this is one of the ways we hack that.
So with limited sunlight and more time indoors,
which is really the case for anybody,
even in the summertime, a lot of Texans, Californians,
people, when it gets hot, you go inside,
you want your air conditioning.
So you're still getting less vitamin D
even when the sun is shining strong. There's a way around that. Just two
pumps applied to the inner forearms contains 5,000 IUs of vitamin D3 to boost your immunity,
improve sleep quality, and support brain function. It's backed by two clinical trials,
and it is proven to triple your vitamin D levels within three to four months of daily use.
Now, as I stated before, I like to rub this on my genitals and chode. I don't think chode is a medical term, and I'm not sure that the
guys behind... My views may be different from the recommendations that A&P Human gives, but
there is some validity to that. So if you're a man or if you're a woman and you want to,
or whatever the fuck you identify as these days, if you rub it in your nether regions, there's a lot of capillaries there.
There's a lot more blood vessels, even just from a pelvic floor standpoint. And it's an excellent
way to absorb these critical nutrients. Vitamin D3 has been thought of more as a hormone actually
in recent years, just due to the fact that it covers so much within the body.
This is not a hormone, so you don't have to worry about taking that or messing with your hormones.
But at the same time, D3 is possibly the grandmother of all vitamins or the grandfather,
the godfather of all vitamins, whatever you want to call that. It's one of the most important things
we can do for our immune system. So no matter where you're at in life, it's important to enhance our immune function.
D3 is one of the best ways to do that.
It's time to say goodbye to pills and say hello to D plus lotion, the easiest way to
get vitamin D.

All right. We are also brought to you by my dudes at BiOptimizers. Have you felt unhappy,
down, or off lately, or maybe just not entirely yourself? It's easy to blame the news or bad
things going on in the world, but believe it or not, your negative feelings could actually be
caused by gut problems.
You see, serotonin is known as the happiness chemical, and 90% of your serotonin is created in your gut. What does that mean? It means that if your gut health is off, then you're just not
going to feel as happy and positive as you normally do. When you start taking care of your gut,
you'll be amazed at how much better you feel. Here's how I recommend you do that. Start taking Cognibiotics,
the breakthrough mood enhancing formula by Bioptimizers. This formula starts with a solid foundation of prebiotics and probiotics to support gut health and positive feelings in a safe and
natural way. But it doesn't stop there. Cognibiotics also includes 17 powerful brain
herbs to enhance mood, manage stress, and improve memory. If you think about
it, Cognibiotics is almost like two supplements in one because of how it supports your mood and
brain health through two different channels. Oh, and here's the best part. Cognibiotics comes with
a full one-year guarantee. So I encourage you to C-O-G-N-I-B-I-O-T-I-C-S.com slash Kingsboo and
use Kingsboo 10 to receive 10% off any order. That's C-O-G-N-I-B-I-O-T-I-C-S.com slash Kingsboo.

We are also brought to you by Birch.
This is the best mattress I've ever slept on in my life.
And it is organic, non-toxic, and made right here in America.
And shipped straight to your door with no contact delivery, free shipping, free returns, and 100-night sleep trial.
Birch mattresses are made here in America with just three materials sourced straight from nature.
Organic latex, New Zealand wool, and American steel springs. Birch mattresses are certified organic,
and they donate 1% of all sales to the National Forest Foundation, which plants trees in American
forests. And they're absolutely comfortable. As I've stated, we've had different, I think we had
a different mattress company back in the day when I first started with Onnit. And they were good, but nothing even close to this. And plus, not organic. So the off-gassing
is a real issue when you go with something that's not natural. And having kids, I don't want them
breathing that stuff in. I don't want to have to wait and open up the windows to my room for a few
weeks and then have people sleep on it. We got this thing rolled out in a matter of seconds.
And in under an hour, it was ready to sleep on.
Absolutely phenomenal.
No weird stench, nothing like that.
And it is the best sleep I have ever had.
These guys are doing a huge deal for you
over at birchliving.com slash Kyle.
You can check it out.
Any type of mattress you want.
They've got all different shapes and sizes.
They have a 25-year warranty
and you'll get to try it out for 100 nights risk-free. They pick it up for you if you don't
love it, but I know you will. So Birch is giving $200 off all mattresses and two free organic
EcoRest pillows at birchliving.com slash Kyle. That's $200 off all mattress orders and two free
organic pillows. Check that out, birchliving.com slash Kyle.
We are also brought to you by Lucy. Lucy is a gum and lozenge that is absolutely phenomenal.
It was founded by Caltech scientists who were former smokers looking for a better and cleaner nicotine alternative and researched and developed for over three years. They created a nicotine gum
with four milligrams of nicotine that has three flavors, wintergreen,
cinnamon, and pomegranate.
And they also have a lozenge that has four milligrams of nicotine and cherry ice flavor.
These products can be enjoyed anywhere, on the airplane, at work, on the go, even in the gym.
I absolutely love using this in the gym.
People think nootropics are just for podcasts and presentations at work and studying and reading books and all that
good stuff. But no, they are fantastic when you're doing any type of strength training or cardio or
anything else in between. And I just love the stuff and be perfectly honest, it's absolutely
phenomenal. You get 20% off by going to lucy.co and entering the promo code KKP at checkout. That is L-U-C-Y.C-O and promo code KKP.
Of course, the disclaimer, this product contains nicotine derived from tobacco,
and it is an addictive chemical.
I love this stuff for a reason.
It works.
It works better than most any nootropic I've ever tried,
and it stacks extremely well with other nootropics.
And yes, you may like it a lot and that may be addictive for some.
But at the end of the day, I think this is one of the best nicotine products ever created.
Highly recommend it.

Without further ado, my man, Dr. Nick Berry.
Welcome to the show.
Clap us in for audio.
Dr. Nick Berry, welcome to the podcast, brother.
It's a pleasure to be here with you today, Kyle.
Yeah, I first heard you on Living 4D with Paul Cech.
And Paul is an amazing friend of ours who connected us.
And I think our daughter, who is six months now, was still in the womb.
And he sent out a care package that just blew us out of the water.
I was like, wow.
And you were so tapped in.
You were like, oh, you can pick some things if you want.
Or I can just kind of go with intuition.
And everything you sent was phenomenal. And there's a variety of ways we're using everything that you guys have created from throwing it on the hot rocks in the sauna to just wearing it on our wrists in the sauna
to inhaling it through this volcano vaporizer we got as Paul Cech likes to use.
So lots of cool stuff.
I want to dive into all the best practices and uses of this.
But first, I want to dive into you.
Where'd you grow up? What got you into all the wild and wonderful plants that you have become a teacher
and a master with? Well, thanks to the opportunity to share, Kyle. I grew up in Southern California
in a suburb called Santa Clarita. And I knew at a very young age that I really wanted to support people. And I was always
fascinated by the human body and drugs as I was growing in my younger age. And when I was 17,
I became really clear that I wanted to become a pharmacist to serve the population. And that
has been a journey that has continued to grow and evolve. I graduated pharmacy
school when I was 24. And I participated in a medical mission down in Central America after I
graduated pharmacy school. And I got to see so many people from different cultures that had really big smiles on their face and much less material
objects than my peer group that I was surrounded by. And I noticed how happy everyone was.
And I kept an open mind and an open heart and got to learn about lots of different types of medicines, herbal, holistic kind of perspectives,
a little bit about homeopathics. And so a real transformation for me happened when I was,
after I was done with pharmacy school, I started working at an Eastern Western pharmacy. I had a year of really amazing work there,
kind of integrating both herbal medicine and pharmaceutical medicine for our patients at a
private pharmacy. And Burning Man was an experience that I had that year. And that really opened up my
mind to lots of different possibilities.
And at the other side of the Burning Man experience, I had some friends that were
starting a cannabis testing facility. And I recognize that cannabis is a powerful medicine.
And I also believe that it was widely abused. And I felt as if maybe there's a way that me as a pharmacist could add
some legitimacy into the area of medicine as it relates to pharmacy. So that was kind of my first
dive in as a pharmacist exploring the world of natural medicines. And it was really as I started
to dive deeper into the cannabis plant, and I learned more about the cannabinoids and specifically the terpenes, it's the terpenes which brought me into exploring the vast array in the world of essential oils.
That's incredible.
Let's break down terpenes.
We've had maybe one or two guests on the show that have spoken to the benefits of cannabis.
Obviously, so much more has come out as of late in probably the last 10, 15 years.
I remember right when CBD was coming on the scene, I was living in California.
And not even speaking of terpenes, just some of the different cannabinoids, CBD got me
from taking four 200 milligram ibuprofen
every single day, sometimes twice a day to get through the end of my fight career.
I was like, whoa, I can go completely off of non-steroidal anti-inflammatories
and feel good, sleep better. All these things are improved. And so the endocannabinoid system
was something that just shifted me. And alongside with ayahuasca and different plant medicines, my whole world was opened up. But terpenes really became something that was
something that just, it's just a whole rabbit hole of stuff that can influence everything from
cognitive function to immune function and hormone levels and neurochemistry. I was just like, whoa,
whoa, whoa, there's so much to this that is undiscovered and just barely being talked about.
Talk about that a bit and talk about how these interrelate with one another throughout the
plant kingdom. So terpenes are aromatic molecules that are responsible for both flavor and
fragrance. And in nature, these terpene molecules are the communication molecules. It is the flower's ability to call
upon pollinators to spread its wild pollen into nature to get the information and to spread its
wild seeds. The terpenes are what's responsible for jasmine's beautiful aroma that can attract humans to inspire them to plant
more jasmine flowers inside of their garden and to continue the plant's existence. So for
centuries and throughout time, terpenes has been the plant molecule's ability to continue to harmonize and invite its continuation of its species.
And at very small concentrations, these terpene molecules are pharmacologically active inside of the human body. And so these terpenes, when you consider
the trees, the sap that comes from the tree, it contains immune-supporting molecules that
help the tree recover from a scratch. And it's this same resin that can be harvested and utilized as medicine in cells to help the human body with a gash as well.
Yeah, there's so much there.
One thing that's come to mind is one of the studies that came out about, I think it was called forest bathing.
I remember when I was working on it, they had coined that term and they talked about this study
in Japan where a 30-minute walk each day in the city, in Tokyo, increased fitness levels to a
degree, but it didn't do much for depression. But 30-minute walk in nature three times a week dropped
all-cause depression by 60%.
And there was this wondering why.
So as they looked into that, they understood that these pheromones and different things, terpenes, are being secreted.
And it's the fragrance, the way the plant communicates with us.
It's constantly in communication with all of its surrounding.
And just by immersing yourself into that nature
experience, that has a direct response on how we think, feel, and operate. And it just blew me away.
But yeah, as I was thinking of like D-limonene, things like that, that are just like,
you know, not very well known, but things that can actually, you know, what would give
lemon or citrus its citrus flavor, that tang is going to be something that helps boost our immune system as well.
Many of these components that are found throughout things through the plant kingdom and certainly
with cannabis and different plant medicines are there.
How did you really start to dive into that?
Did you come from the science perspective, from what you had learned in the West and
marry that to your experiences in Central America?
Talk more about this origin story.
Yeah, so it precisely did start from kind of a Western mindset
that has quickly adapted into something that is more developed from the intuitive sense.
So my journey exploring the essential oils really started off by studying on PubMed.gov and looking up studies associated with individual terpene molecules and understanding a little bit more about the pharmacology or the different types of effects one would expect if something was high in linalool or D-limonene or alpha-pinene and kind of was able to see these different
effects of these individual terpene molecules. Then as I started to integrate the essential
oils composition, I had a better understanding of what types of effects one might experience from the essential oils.
And my practical experience really, as my collection of essential oils began to grow,
I started to share with friends.
And friends were very inspired by this offering and really invited me to share a lot more profusely.
So I asked the question, how do I do that?
Where should I bring the oils to?
And the answer was different festivals and events.
And so I was so fortunate to have such in-person experience over the course of weekends or longer experiences where I got to engage with
the local community and receive feedback about using individual essential oils or different
blends that I formulated and receiving the feedback, not just instantaneous feedback, but how that would evolve over the
course of the week. And so this was my on the ground training, if you will, utilizing different
books, connecting with several different mentors, including John Steele and Will LaPaz. And so I've
had some great mentors come into my life to really support this work
with the essential oils. And I've just been listening and experimenting and diving right
in ever since then. So good. I've noticed, I've been able to see just in the short while
how much you guys have expanded, even you know finding some of these what are
traditionally known as master plant teachers down down from the amazon like boven sauna
and uh you know the blue lotus flower they talk about from ancient egypt and and the power of that
um but what's guiding you now as you continue to expand and continue to formulate and i want
to talk about the blends and really what, because I think that's really
what has separated you from the rest. There are some really good essential oil companies out there,
but what, in my opinion, has separated you from the rest is the fact that you understand this
harmony better than most people do. And that comes through with my felt experience and using,
and my family's and everybody else that comes over and I'm like, hey, you got to try this.
So there is a felt experience with that,. Um, but talk about, you know, this guidepost,
this intuition that's leading you to these different plants. Have you worked with different
plants in the Amazon? Have you worked with, uh, you know, any of the, you just kind of just follow
the clues and, and, and find them for yourself. Yeah. So, um, I, I have worked with quite a number of different plant medicines in my life.
And really, the guide map, if you will, it comes from a heart-centered place of exploration and excitement. was first... When I first visited Oregon about four years ago, I was connecting with my friend
Eric, who is currently one of our team members who's extracting Tongkat Ali downstairs right
now as we speak. And Eric and I had a conversation while we were sitting on his couch talking about how amazing it would be to extract these wild and uncommon botanicals and to be able to share that with other people, to offer people opportunities and alternatives to traditional pharmaceuticals and to realize that we need to build this balance, this harmony and a balance with nature.
And so it's really the plants that invite me to explore their realm
and to share them with others.
I like that, brother.
Something that has been really on my mind this year,
last year I dove headfirst into dissolving illusion and cutting through to the truth of what's happening in the world.
And this year, harmony has been one of my major intentions.
And I've thought of that through the body, just as Paul Cech, through much of his work, has really been able to prove and back scientifically and back holistically that we are tuning forks.
What brings us into resonance improves all systems.
And plants are such a huge part of that.
Oh, look, you got to, there we go.
Yeah, get that closer to your mic, right at your throat there.
One more time.
He's got a massive tuning fork.
I think the frequency isn't picking up, but that is a huge crystal tuning fork. I think the frequency isn't picking up, but that is a huge crystal tuning
fork. I haven't seen that before. That's incredible. It looks like the size of some of the hand
sound bowls. Yeah, that's beautiful, brother. So this tuning fork that we have operates better
when we step into alignment with the right foods, the right hydration,
the right sleep, the right amount of sunlight, circadian cycles, all of these things.
And at the same time, we have the ability to work with different master plants that can tune us in
simply by inhaling them, putting them on our skin, working with them in different ways.
And the net effect of that is a global effect it's a holistic effect that impacts
the entire body and it's something that really it it it's such a cool way to understand you know
like we when i watched avatar you know the first thought that i had was i was like this is such a
brilliant way to show what the earth is it's such a beautiful and awesome way to throw show through
cgi exactly where we live right now, not outside of
this planet. This is what it is. We have the ability to tune in. All of this is in communication
with us if we listen. And I know I'm off on a little tangent right now, but talk to me about
what brings you into resonance and what are some of your practices for cultivating that?
And were you always that way? Pharmacy school, things like that can seem like a bit draining.
To see where you are now, such a vibrant person,
creating so many gifts in the world.
What has helped you to cultivate that
and continue to allow you to do so?
Yeah, thanks to the question, Kyle.
So it's definitely been a continuous journey of growth for me.
And I would say that my current practices are, as I've continued to detoxify my body and get my body and my mind and my heart more and more clear, I find that more subtle practices are powerful for keeping me in resonance. And so different things
like morning practice of meditation, like 20 to 40 minutes a day. I've been using a lot of
Dr. Joe's meditations, Dr. Joe Dispenza's meditations, and I find that to be a really
helpful practice for me. And I usually incorporate
that in the morning and or sometimes in the evening. I do infrared sauna typically about
30 to 45 minutes in the morning at about 130 to 140 degrees. And I like to ingest different types of minerals. I find that minerals are really
helpful for the physical body and the mind to really help information travel more effectively.
And so minerals are part of a regular diet and supplementation for myself. I like to go outside and enjoy the fresh
air and go on walks. Ashland, even though it's winter in Ashland, today is actually a beautiful
sunny day. So I'm going to enjoy a walk here after our podcast together. Other practices include
jumping on the trampoline or moving my physical body or
stretching or exercising um i've been doing a lot of uh breath work practices as well um i i'm
imagining you know josh trent uh he put out a program that i've been enjoying as a real simple
breathe practice um another one of my friends, Daniel
Raphael, has this dream porting breath that I find to be very deep and powerful very quickly.
And so lots of these practices I find really help me to keep in an elevated balance in my center. And when I'm in that state, I'm able to really adapt to shifts in a more profound
and soft way. Without the shifts bending or breaking me, I'm able to adapt and it really
triggers the resilience inside of me. And then the oils and the tinctures are really powerful
allies to when I notice my physical body or my emotional body or an imbalance coming up within me,
I find that the oils or the plants are really able to help immediately shift something before it becomes an imbalance
that pulls me away from my center. That's such a huge topic. I mean, I want to dive into that.
You brought up Josh Trent, though. I got to give him a shout out. My boy from Wellness Force just
moved here to Austin, Texas. We actually were talking about you just the other day when we had
a... I think I brought the throat tincture over for the volcano and had a little fun with everybody using the organic tobacco
and the different tea. And it was phenomenal. But yeah, he's doing great and he's about to be a
daddy. So super pumped about that. Congratulations, Josh.
Yeah. Yeah. Beautiful, beautiful human. You talked a bit about, you know, clearing the resonance and this state shift that can happen.
And it's such an important thing because, you know, it's important not to stick our head in the sands like an ostrich, especially as emotions arise, anything that's arising within us.
It needs its space to be felt.
It needs space to actually come through so that it can be transmuted and alchemized and we can have a better understanding. But we can shift our perspective, hopefully to open our
awareness so that we're able to see outside the box around why the things are arising that are
arising. And state changes, state shifts can be such a beautiful way to work with anything that's
arising within us. Quick breath work, whether that's one round of Wim Hof
or a one-minute ice bath or three minutes of breath of fire.
Any of those things can change neurochemistry in a way that creates space
and then we can readdress what's coming up for us.
But the essential oils are phenomenal, absolutely phenomenal.
I had a long two-hour discussion with an intuitive
who I love, Mary Margrave. I always give her shout outs on this podcast, soul-attunements.com.
She's incredible. But it was zapping. And I never scheduled that prior to a podcast. I know we had
to rework some things to get this podcast going. So I was like, I just got to run with it. And yeah,
they hit the celestial right before we came on. And I'm beaming right now. I mean, we're not doing video,
but I've had a shitting grin on my face the whole time because it allows me, it's just up leveling
my emotional body and my energy levels and everything that goes in between.
And I find that to be not always the tool that I look for. You know, it's like I'm not always running to the cabinet to grab the essential oils,
but it is a palpable feeling.
So talk about some of the different things that you use in that experience to have a
state shift and some of the ways that you process stuff going on.
Because, you know, there's so much going on in the external right now that people,
I think, are having a hard time, myself included.
I'll raise my hand, you know, for the hand raising motion isn't coming through the audio, but I promise you hands
raised. I've had a hard time processing a lot with the external and I'd love for you to unpack some
of the ways you manage that. Yeah. So as it relates to some of the botanical tools that I've developed, as that's what I'm hearing the question is, what types of essential oils, different blends, ultrasonic extraction tinctures, the different tools that I've formulated that I utilize that can be really supportive for bringing myself back into balance.
Is that the question?
Yeah, brother. Dive into it, please. Yeah. Yeah. So, you know, during these times, there's a lot of, there's a lot unearthing that we have the opportunity to bear witness to. And the type of effects that that can have on our heart
or emotional body can be really devastating for many people. And so really the question is,
how are we receiving the information and what types of feelings are that bringing up in us?
And are we suppressing those emotions and or are we going all in and allowing the
emotions to be felt? And so there's so many different tools that I've formulated over the
years that can be really helpful and supportive. And so if we wanted to talk about stress relief,
for instance, I have quite a number of them.
And what's really special about the plants is lots of times they can have synergistic effects.
Sometimes those synergistic effects can actually sound like they're opposites, like you can be stimulated but also simultaneously relaxed. How fortunate will you be if you can relax your nervous system and slow down your mind,
but also be extra focused at the task at hand? And so that is the power of plants. When integrated
in a conscientious way, you can really utilize very specific frequencies of information from these plants.
And so I'm happy to share kind of a collection of different oils and extracts that can be
really supportive.
And I'm happy to start off with stress relief.
Yeah, brother, dive right into it.
I don't think there's ever been a more important time to understand stress relief and the, brother, dive right into it. I don't think there's ever
been a more important time to understand stress relief and the ways that we can work with these.
Cool. So our ultrasonic skullcap tincture is a really powerful
plant. And skullcap is said to be a nervine tonic herb. And what I noticed from the skullcap
is not only does it relax the nervous system, but I almost find it to be adaptogenic to the
nervous system. And so skullcap is great if I'm feeling a higher level of stress, if I want to go to bed, if I wanted to concentrate
on work, if I wanted to hop and join you for a podcast.
And so I actually have a bottle of our ultrasonic skullcap right here.
So I'm happy to enjoy a little bit with you guys on the airwaves. Now, the skullcap, what I find is that the way that the skullcap works is it relaxes the nervous system and it slows down an overactive mind.
But it can also help to focus, to enhance your focus and create more clarity of thought and mind.
And so I find it to be very supportive for the workday when you're in your process of creation,
but you're also feeling a lot high level of stress. So I'm going to use about half a dropper full held under the tongue for about 30 seconds.
I'll just fill the airways while you're going.
Thank you, brother.
Yeah, it's been a big year for a lot of people.
And I think we see so much now coming to fruition for a lot of people that there's still so many question marks.
And for myself, still so many question marks.
And one of the saving graces is the serenity prayer. It's this idea that I will ask God for the wisdom to change the things that I can and let go of the
things that I cannot change. Doesn't mean I'm not going to understand the things that I cannot
change, but I'm not going to worry about that. I'm not going to fret over that. I'm going to do
what's right in front of me. Paul Selig talks about this quite a bit in his transmissions.
As you know, this big set dude looks kind of like me. He's driving down the road and he keeps
asking God, why am I here? Why am I here?
Why am I here?
And then he sees this tree that's fallen over in the center of the road.
He gets out of the truck and he's big enough to move the tree out of the
road.
He gets back in and he keeps driving.
Why am I here?
Why am I here?
Why am I here?
Not realizing that that allowed every car behind him to pass smoothly on
the road.
And so the work to be done is the work of the day.
And that's often presented to us.
It's not like we have to go out and find that. It's how we show up in every decision we make.
It's the authenticness of our choice and how we show up to each moment. And I think that's a
brilliant way to look at it, to know that the chunk that I take care of that's right in front
of me is enough to be a shift. Oh, may we all play our parts and our roles, Kyle. And I want to honor you for doing that.
I really appreciate all the guests that you bring onto your show and all the information
and heart you bring on the airwaves. So keep doing what you're doing, brother.
Thank you, brother.
Yeah. So what I'd like to do is I'd like to share one now that I call Invigor.
And Invigor is a combination of caraway, cardamom, sweet basil, two types of rosemary, peppermint, silver fern, frankincense. um mentally focusing uh oil that um i feel can bring a ritual into one's life and so it can be a
support of um giving a little bit boost of energy that um doesn't feel pharmacological in the same way coffee or caffeine does.
Um,
it's more gentle and subtle, but it's also,
um,
very invigorating and uplifting.
And so in vigor,
I put a few drops into the hands,
rub the hands together. taking three deep inhalations
and then you can massage it into the scalp and into the back of the neck.
And so this can be supportive for people when they're taking a break from their day
and they're intending to get back in the ring, if you will, with an extra boost of energy. And vigor is just a real gentle, uplifting, herbaceous blend that can be supportive
for the nervous system. So regarding stress, I have a number of different tinctures that I find
to be really helpful. Our ultrasonic skullcap tincture, I find to be mildly euphoric,
relaxing to the nervous system. And I find that it also slows down an overactive mind.
In fact, it works so well at slowing down an overactive mind that when I use ultrasonic Tulsi, I typically use it before I go
to bed because I find that it really slows down my mind in an overactive nervous system.
I won't use any right now because I want to be fully cognizant for our conversation. But our ultrasonic skull cap,
our ultrasonic Tulsi tincture
is an amazing one to use before bedtime.
Beautiful.
I've worked with the Kava,
and it reminded me,
when I played football at Mesa Community College,
I think I was the only white guy in the defensive line,
and it was a bunch of giant Polynesian guys,
and we would bus everywhere. So sometimes we'd bus 10 or 12 hours to play a game in Utah from
out of Arizona. And they would confiscate the five-gallon Gatorade drums and make kava.
So we'd be back there and just pounding it the whole way. Mouth and throat go numb. We're
laughing. We crash. We sleep like babies in these tiny ass bus chairs.
And I absolutely love that medicine.
It's such a beautiful root and plant.
And when I saw that you guys had it, I was like, oh, wow, this is incredible.
I wonder if it'll be similar.
And a full tincture really is.
Like, I mean, I get the throat.
I get the funny feeling.
I feel amazing.
And I sleep really well.
And I've even been including, I think before the podcast, I was talking about how I've included that
in some of the volcano bags that I'll make with tobacco as a beautiful way to almost like a
nightcap where I'll just get to unwind. And I feel that come through really beautifully with only a
few drops into the vaporizer. Wow. Yeah. The CO2-extracted kava kava is a very powerful aid. And the pure
extract, it's over 60% kava lactones. And so it's very concentrated. And when you're comparing it to
the traditional type of prepared tea that is used in the Polynesian culture, our extract is absolutely potent.
Absolutely potent. And one little dab will do you is what I like to share with friends.
And so I'll usually just take the head of a pin and I'll put a little dab in when it's the pure CO2 extracted kava.
I think what I shared with you was one of our tincture formulations,
maybe the kava euphoria or the kava chill.
It is the kava chill. That's right. Yeah.
Yeah. And so kava chill is one that is really helpful for these times
with the amount of stress that's going on in the field.
And so the CO2-extracted kava is synergized with our moon cycle formulation, which is lavender,
sweet marjoram, clary sage, rose geranium, bergamot, blue yarrow, and fennel. And these oils are very calming and relaxing to the nervous system.
And this formulation should be avoided for women that are pregnant because of the nature of some
of these oils. And the overall formulation of Kava Chill is really helpful in a similar way, maybe a little bit stronger
than the Tulsi. So relaxing to the physical body, a mild to moderate level of euphoria,
and also a calm and a quietness over the mind. And so it can really help
when we have overactive thoughts and are overly focused on the external world.
This can really help to slow down those overactive thoughts. And really, I find that it helps me
transition into a deeper quality of sleep with more ease and grace when I have a lot of excitement in my mind. Yeah, that's beautiful.
And yeah, it certainly is something that is necessary now.
So there is a difference.
I wanted you to talk about the ultrasonic versus CO2 extraction.
Talk about the process of how you gather these
because what I've heard in the past
and even from some of the higher end essential oil communities, it's like, hey, this is fine to put on your wrist, but don't drink it because it can have X, Y, and Z in it.
And that's not the case with your essential oils.
So talk a bit about the process of how you get these incredible plants to a point where you can ingest them and vaporize them.
Yeah. So maybe what I'll start off by saying is the plants that we're extracting,
we're using a novel extraction process, which is our ultrasonic extraction process.
And so what we're utilizing is ultrasonic vibration or sound waves at a high frequency. And the vibration will actually break
down the cell walls of the plant material. And it pulls out the essential oil and the different
plant alkaloids in the different waxes and lipids. And what we do is we then filter the material. So we use water as a solvent and we produce a concentrated tea, essentially.
And that's our first step.
And then what we do is we filter out the tea
from all the plant material and the waxes.
And then what we'll do is we'll put it under vacuum
and we'll distill at using very low temperatures. And so because we're utilizing
these very low temperatures, my perception is that the energy and the intelligence of the plant
is left intact in the final product. And so this is why you can really feel and experience our ultrasonic tinctures.
So what we do is we vacuum distill the tea until we get a concentrate.
And so we're left with a potent concentrate.
Then what we do is we take some of the hydrosol that we've distilled out, and we recombine it with the concentrate.
And we also add in some structured water, and we add alcohol as a stabilizer to help deliver
the plant material or the plant alkaloids into the body effectively. And so that is the result of our ultrasonic extraction process. And they're
really potent. And it's really been a gift to be able to explore utilizing different plants in this
way. Yeah, incredible. I've utilized them, and I'm sure this isn't how you would advertise it,
but I've utilized some of the different products with plant medicines in the past.
You know, cosmic orgasm before a medicine can be incredibly powerful, an incredibly powerful way to open up a third eye and connect to source and just really clear out the energy.
And I've wanted to get my hands on the Blue Lotus because of the fact that that is, in my understanding, an MAO inhibitor.
And could it potentially extend and add like a gradual on-ramping to some of the faster medicines that might only work for 15 minutes?
Wink, wink for those that are listening.
And certainly can help ease us into a situation or into an experience that is rather rapid onset.
Yeah, the Blue lotus is very powerful and
the pharmacology of it, it's quite unique. When you put the blue lotus into your body,
it is, I experience it as many different types of medicines. It works gabanergically. It works like a weak opioid.
It will feel somewhat like cannabis and hit some of the cannabinoid receptors.
Really, we actually recently got a CO2 extract of blue lotus, which is very uncommon.
And it's so concentrated. And a fun way that I've explored
working with that CO2 extracted blue lotus is to vaporize it. And I mean, the flavor profile is
like this caramel apple pie that just... I mean, you breathe it into your lungs and it's like you're breathing this natural
perfume essence of just, um, sweet surrender and you breathe it out and there's just a calm peace
and a light giddiness that comes from the, from the inside out. And, um, you know, the, the blueology is their relationship
with the blue lotus which was their sacred plant medicine and opening up gateways to the divine
and traditionally the blue lotus was steeped within um different types of alcohols producing
these um these very effervescent wines that they would consume.
And so, yeah, Blue Lotus is definitely shrouded with mystery and allure. And the effects are,
I find, to be somewhere between mild and moderate when utilized by themselves. And I have heard that
they do combine well with different plant medicines to really
accentuate uh the the flavor and the experience in in new and profound ways yeah the effervescent
wine you're making me think of the immortality key that was a guy brian i think marusco something
like that i forget his last name um and he was on with Graham Hancock on Joe Rogan's
podcast. I immediately got his book. It's a brilliant book. It really talked about the wine
that was talked about throughout the Bible, all the way back to the Eleusinian mysteries in ancient
Greece. And then prior to that in ancient Egypt was non-alcoholic wine. It was plant medicine
wines. And they were combining some of these great plant teachers into a concoction that one would drink. And they
had, of course, table wines and things like that that would help with digestion and just
an overall everyday sense of euphoria, wine downtime, things of that nature. But they had
some pretty psychedelic and powerful brews as well to grant people an experience of divine union.
And one of the things they talked about was the body of the Christ was to be consumed, the Eucharist was to be consumed, and it was an
experience that will allow you to die and be reborn before you die so you could truly live.
And the way that's described is such a, it just hits the nail on the head, you know,
it's what Terrence McKenna spoke about in saying, you know, is there a wrong way to do psychedelics?
He said, yeah, if you don't take enough, you know, if you're just,
if you're just there to have a good time and you never really set ceremony
around that. And of course the number is arbitrary.
It doesn't really matter,
but setting ceremony in the container around that experience so that you can go
within and you can have the transformative experience and at least dissolve for
a moment and put yourself back together anew. I think that, that, uh, that excites me, you know,
obviously I'm a fan,
but I think it back to the origins of blue Lotus and some of these plants for
many,
many thousands of years being revered for these great teachers and the ability
to open us up to higher dimensions of consciousness.
It really can't be overstated. You know, they're,
they're incredible.
And the fact that you're able to source these things and find them and then create them in a way to where now we have access, you know, we have access to so many great plants.
When I came across Boban Sana too, I was like, oh, wow, this is actually something, you know,
I was talking with Aubrey about and doing a dieta with, you know, it's one of the, one
of these master plants from the Amazon.
I haven't worked with it personally until recently,
but I'd love for you to dive into bovinsana
and some of the properties of that plant
because it's always been something
that's been curious to me.
It's a very beautiful plant.
Yeah.
So bovinsana, for people who are not aware of this plant,
it's a plant utilized in the Amazon,
really widely in Peru. And it's used in plant dieting and is oftentimes a admixture as part
of ayahuasca. And my first time in working with bovine sauna by itself was utilizing our ultrasonic processes and our finished tincture product.
And the bovine sauna is the plant really, it's said to be very watery. And what some of the
elders have taught me is that bovine sauna is considered to be mermaid medicine and it helps you to tap into the emotional body
and to become more watery and be able to dissolve the hard edges of the emotional sensory system
and to soften and to open and expand your heart i find the bovine sauna tincture to be,
when I work with it, I find it to relax my nervous system. I find it to open my heart.
And I find my emotions become more sensitive. And I don't mean this in a negative sense. I mean,
I become more aware of my heart space. And I feel more connected to the people around me.
And I also feel like it quiets my mind as well.
That's my experience of the Bhavan sauna.
That's beautiful, brother.
Yeah, sign me up.
Are there any, I am pressed for time here.
I got about five minutes, but I would love for you to talk about, um,
you know, how you piece together some of these, these, um,
these collaborations, you know, the, the, the different medicines together.
I know you've mentioned a couple already prosperity for me was one of the
first ones you sent. It's something I use in the sauna all the time. It,
it just, it, there's, there's a whole feel to it. And it absolutely, um, for me was one of the first ones you sent. It's something I use in the sauna all the time.
There's a whole feel to it. When I'm sweating and I don't want to be in there,
prosperity is something that keeps me grounded and elevated to the point where I can have my full sauna sessions and really make them enjoyable. But talk about some of the ways
that you've used your intuition as well as your creativity to come up with some of these products and which ones might be your favorite? Yeah. So I have many favorites and it just
depends on the mood or the intention. And I tend to embody lots of different personalities or
ways of being and expressing myself. And so sometimes I create a formulation with the
intention of, I want to utilize Blue Lotus. And so I'm going to cultivate a whole blend or a whole
array around creating a really beautiful Blue Lotus aromatic. Sometimes I set the intention around, there's so much tension around the heart,
I want to create a blend that's going to open up the heart and create more connection between
people. And so my intuitive process has evolved to the point where I am able to set an intention for what I want to cultivate and create.
And based on that intention, I'll tune in with my oils.
And so I will literally look at my wall of oils,
and I'll just feel into which oils want to go into the blend.
And so I use muscle testing.
And so I ask, is there something
on the first, second, third? Okay, third. So there's something on the third shelf. Is it the
first row, second? Okay, it's the second row. And then I'll tap into every oil on the shelf.
And then it will tell me which oils I'm going to be blending with.
So then I'll do that and I'll tap into whether it's five oils, seven oils, eight oils, again, by muscle testing.
And then once I have my oils, I'll tap into what order they want to be blended in because it makes a huge difference in my experience. And then once I have the order,
I'll ask the oils how much of each of them want to go into the blend. And so this is a different
evolutionary phase where I exist now than when I had first started when I was utilizing more of a
Western mindset and setting the intention for an energizing blend such as
invigor formulation and tapping into with my mind selecting which plants create certain types of
properties and then combining those and then utilizing my nose and also my thought of what I want to create and formulate for therapeutic reasons.
And so I would say that I marry the both of the techniques currently when I formulate, but more so utilizing the intuitive sense.
And sometimes my mind jumps in with a great idea that I take action on. And it all feels powered by the heart. And so that's kind of my intuitive process and the way that I currently formulate blends. It's really a lot of fun to cultivate new synergy formulas.
Something that I've been enjoying recently is helping to formulate blends for other people or brands or other individuals to share with their audiences or with their communities or to share for their weddings. This is a unique way that I can tap in
and co-create with someone else's expression and energy
and help them to bring their intention
into a physical botanical concentrate
that can be shared amongst their community.
And that has been another amazing way
that I've been exploring working with the oils recently.
One of the last ones that I did
was a synergy formula with Paul Cech.
And that was our heart harmony formulation.
And his intention was to develop something that would clear negative
energy, open up and expand the heart, and help to craft and create a uniform aroma for his
check clinics around the world. And so that was an exciting project and inspired by our dear friend
Paul. Yeah, I got to check that out when
he married our buddies, Alex and Sarah, who were on the podcast not long ago. Yeah, he had it on.
I was like, oh, wow, what is that? And he was like, oh, this is the new formula that Dr. Nick
and I came up with. And I was like, yo, this is insane. I got to get some. Just incredible,
brother. Absolutely incredible. Well, I'm sorry we've been pressed for time, but thank you so
much for coming on. Where can people find these amazing, amazing essential oils and learn more about you?
Yeah, EssentialOilWizardry.com.
Beautiful, brother. We'll link to that in the show notes. It's been excellent having you on, Nick.
Yeah, you too, Kyle. Thank you for the opportunity. And thanks to everyone who's
tuned in to this podcast. I hope that you find it inspiring.
And yeah, I'm very grateful for you, Kyle.
Grateful for you, brother.
All right, Nick, take care. Thank you.
