Starting point is 00:02:38 Okay I'm going to kick off Good week bad week start it off girl I never really do um okay so my good week is i have been on the hunt to binge watch something on netflix because zach travels pretty much every day of the week and i just have him on the weekend so i needed to find my own show like something i could watch by myself you needed a boyfriend i needed a boyfriend show because i pretty much get in bed at like 7 p.m and watch about five hours of television every night me too it's the best job ever so i was really looking everybody's like
Starting point is 00:03:09 start this start this peaky blinders do blah blah blah uh outliers whatever and i just could not get into anything but guess what i got into what parenthood oh no i can't do that it's too sad oh that's a sad one right no it's just i mean it probably gets sad i'm only on the first season but i think it gets really sad oh shit great great becca's like i'm already in i think like a bunch of people die no cancer don't say this like that okay great thanks jack um your good week just turned into a bad week it's probably gonna turn into it but i love the show it's like really amazing i heard it was all about like family extended family and like this you know fun like dysfunctional loving blah blah okay so that's really good and then everybody dies
Starting point is 00:03:53 oh great um my bad week is that and also i opened my mailbox yesterday you got hate mail worse jury duty oh it's so easy to get out of though how what do i say um what did i do for mine oh i got it in orange county and i said it wasn't a resident oh no you can say what you can't miss your job because you're self-employed well that's what i said oh then you can get out of it i don't know i'm canadian so i don't have to do jury duty i also can't vote but i do have to pay tax oh that's kind of a bummer i know um all right well good luck thanks so much i hope you actually get a really great case and we can do a spin-off lady gang serial and you can and you can i'm pretty sure that's illegal until the case is over oh yeah but it's not what if you got
Starting point is 00:04:47 like a high profile murder case lady gang true crime did you watch crime story those jurors from oj when they lost their minds they went nuts they went nuts and i would too i can't do it i couldn't watch Real Housewives from the hotel room when they quarantine you or sequester you or whatever the hell they take your phone and sign me out. I'm going to tell them I don't believe in the legal system. Kelty, how was your good week? Okay, well, I wanted to talk about something that I didn't have a chance to talk about yet, because I've been so self centered on other good weeks. But I want to go back a few weeks because everyone knows I was at the Miss USA pageant. And And I really left out something so important that when I was going back through my Instagram,
Starting point is 00:05:28 loving on myself more, giving myself likes on pictures that I maybe hadn't personally liked yet. Wait, you like your own pictures? Of course. And I saw the picture of me and the Backstreet Boys. And just like my good week is just, the Backstreet Boys are so amazing, you guys. They are. Like, I know this is so lame, but growing up, I always loved the Backstreet Boys.
Starting point is 00:05:51 Like, I never liked NSYNC. Really? No. and i was always for brian me too okay brian was my guy hole in his heart i felt so bad the whole he had to have heart surgery and you're like oh i love you anyway i always loved brian but now that i'm an adult and if the adults they're backstreet men aj is kind of outgoing and i feel like we would be buddies i'm trying to get him to come on the podcast which i think would be amazing but even kevin kevin and nick carter has like really calmed down from his reality time
Starting point is 00:06:17 i don't want to brag but nick carter asked me to be in his zombie movie recently he has a zombie Did you say yes? I couldn't do it. You could have been an employed actress. Was he a director? Teenage heart. I think he wrote it. He's producing it.
Starting point is 00:06:28 He produced it, and he's starring in it or whatever. But that might have taken a backseat to Dancing with the Stars. Okay. Are you doing Dancing with the Stars? No, him. You know he did it. Didn't he? I think so, yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:39 Yeah. I just think they all come dressed in Armani, and they're just looking great. Are they looking great? Yes, they're looking great. Like NSYNC, all the others other than Justin have gone off to be like cheese balls. No offense to anyone who's an Instagram. Joey Fatone on a progressive commercial? Right.
Starting point is 00:06:54 But it's like, I feel like Backstreet Boys kind of kept it together. And then, so what I did is I went on Spotify and I just listened to Backstreet Boys for like a whole week straight. Oh my God, yes. And you know what? One Direction has nothing on the Backstreet Boys. The Backstreet Boys had hits. I'm going to take, I'm going to have to, no.
Starting point is 00:07:07 No, and they did. You think One Direction is better than the Backstreet Boys? If you put on One Direction and I listen to like Stockholm Syndrome, I mean, they have some really good jams. They do, but Backstreet Boys and NSYNC were the originators. You are my fire, Becca. anyway i just was with the backstreet boys again and it was just a highlight of my life and it was better than do you think that they're all still millionaires yes oh yeah dude they're still
Starting point is 00:07:29 touring and yeah they're still they have the backstreet boys cruise which i would go on 100 we need to have a we should lady game the only thing that sounds worse than going on a cruise is going on a backstreet boy cruise no what about a florida georgia line cruise i mean even worse i would rather go on the cruise that takes all the dead bodies like across the sea yes i would okay um here's my bad week so i've been uh pretty much on an emotional roller coaster lately and i've been trying to be an adult and deal with my feelings in the right way instead of like passive-aggressively tweeting and or listening to like sad music and complaining about my life i'm trying to like what would oprah do so i called up an old friend and i went for a really nice hike
Starting point is 00:08:15 to the hollywood sign and i was like i'm just gonna be in the outdoors and wear my athleisure wear and like just talk it out with a friend so i'm like literally walking up the side of the mountain ish la thing vibes and i'm like and then this happened and then this girl said this and then this is life is so unfair and i'm so mad at the universe blah i trip i fall into a thistle and it wasn't a thistle with giant spikes is a thistle with those like microscopic tiny spikes that like you can't even get out with a tweezer and i was just like the universe hates me because i have done the right thing i'm not drinking i'm not doing drugs like i'm like i'm just gonna go in nature and talk about my feelings i fall into the damn thistle and the universe was like yeah
Starting point is 00:09:01 get it life's hard for you right now and i'm not stopping anytime soon you know a little bit harder jack and i figured out what's going on with you oh yes we did what is it birth control yeah i'm off birth control since when it's exposed is this your is this the first time chris is finding out you're off birth control by the way we're kind of yes it is actually shut your mouth yeah kelsey kelsey's been tricking her husband she's gonna get a surprise okay so maybe it's not birth control yeah maybe you're just crazy yeah definitely just crazy all right well we really thought we diagnosed you we're gonna do an experiment we're gonna get kelty off birth control and see what changes not that you're a horrible person have i been that bad that you've noticed no you
Starting point is 00:09:45 just you're you're you get down on yourself yeah more than anybody and i've realized recently on birth control how nuts it makes you yep so and i'm just nuts without it so um all right well that's a really that was the universe telling you to buck up yeah or just that it's gonna get worse yeah thanks universe jack tell me tell me all your inner secrets so i did something this week that made me feel like an adult and i'm very excited about it started a retirement account did you apply for a mortgage no i have a retirement account though oh yeah i bought a steamer it was i bought a steamer at like 18 jack i have i have one for my clothes for work yeah so i but i never have one at home so i just end up wearing really wrinkly clothes all the time
Starting point is 00:10:31 wrinkle release downy wrinkle release i don't i don't i don't know wow i don't know what have you been steaming oh i steamed everything her badge this morning i spent like i wish you just like personal badge don't try it it's hot i spent i know i burnt my hand i spent like three hours steaming things instead of working this morning i steamed the stuff i needed for this weekend like some dresses or whatever and then i just steamed everything i had in my closet all right and it was really great okay i felt like an adult it does feel it gives you a sense of purpose it's like when i do my hand washing like you know don't you have that like pile of stuff that only can be hand washed and you curse yourself for ever buying it what do you okay do you wash that with the
Starting point is 00:11:11 normal detergent i always i have like a i have like a is there a hand wash special you can do either i do have a special like linen wash but that's because sometimes i pretend to be rich i just hit myself in the face with the microphone i already did okay okay what's your i'm proud of you thank you i felt really good about it um so my bad week was i don't ever keep snacks in my house because i will eat them yeah they're like i will eat an entire bag of chips in like a couple hours so i never keep snacks around the house and the other weekend or the other weekend last weekend i was hungover and i'm like you know what i want some snacks so i got a trader joe's oh god what'd you get i bought a block of cheese which my favorite cheese ever is their unexpected cheddar
Starting point is 00:11:51 it's so good unexpected cheddar it's so good okay oh my god best cheese ever i buy the cheese i buy the little pita things and i'm like you know i'll make myself a snack you know i make the cheese and crackers i eat a couple an hour later i'm like i'm gonna have a little bit more make some more of it i ate the entire block of cheese you ate the whole block of cheese 24 hours since last weekend yeah many times wow that's impressive like eating it and pooping it i know and i checked to the calorie count and it was like 2 000 calories of cheese in 24 hours not even counting the pita not even i finished the whole pita i'm just surprised you went for the cheese and pita i just love that you didn't go for like those dark um peanut butter cups at trader joe oh i get those
Starting point is 00:12:33 too i didn't get those but i like those i would rather see i would rather binge on like cheese and salty stuff than chocolate yeah i go back and forth i'll do like a salty and then i'll do chocolate that's like the pinnacle of pms when you're like i need an m&m and Now I need a pretzel. And now I need a Reese's bar. And now I need potato chips. That's why you get chocolate-covered pretzels. It just, like, is everything at once.
Starting point is 00:12:55 It's true. It's like a party in your mouth. It's amazing. PMS party. It is. You guys, it was a good week. It was a good week. Now back to the Lady Gang.
Starting point is 00:13:07 All right, y'all. Today we have a total Aussie babe who I just want to set the scene for you. She's a white dress shirt, a blue pinstripe blazer, and a pair of white pointy-toe heel boots. And it is giving me life like I really did not pull it together this morning. She's working. She's amazing. Make chic chic.
Starting point is 00:13:25 She's an Aussie babe, moved from the Gold Coast with her showbiz family to pursue a career here in Hollywood. And it seems to be going pretty darn well. She's a singer, actress, and she's also a professional talker like us. She's the youngest nationally syndicated radio host ever, reaching a much bigger audience than us. She has 20 million listeners a week on her show. She's interviewed some of the biggest names in the entertainment world, including Bieber,
Starting point is 00:13:50 Gwen Stefani, Nick Jonas, Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez. So you're way overqualified to be here. Welcome to show, Ali Simpson. That was such a nice intro. Thank you so much. I'm so happy to be here. Oh my gosh. So your life hosting, now you have to everything switch.
Starting point is 00:14:08 What's the hardest thing about what you do, about the show? About my radio show? Yeah. the hardest thing i think it's just you know you just you have to constantly talk but i mean i am a talker and like i think over you know my time in radio like it's becoming easier and it's just becoming more natural to me um but i think the hardest thing is just like actually figuring out how to use all the buttons and like actually run the studio i'm like i just can't do this i can talk i can do everything else i just can't you're pressing buttons and doing switches we just talk
Starting point is 00:14:37 yeah yeah i'm trying to do switches but that's it's hard i can't do it who's been your best guest ever um beba i think i mean what was that like i mean it was amazing and he ended up actually saying that i have a segment called crush of the week yeah um and i asked him who he was crushing on and he was like well can you be my crush this week and i was like um yeah do you want to get dinner then i was like are you single and then he's like yeah i am and then i was like okay cool we'll get dinner then and then like i was so straight up did you get a dinner we never did oh come on he owes me he's listening should we tell him no yeah he owes me a dinner he knows that so eventually it'll happen justin do you hear that but are you ready for that because if you
Starting point is 00:15:20 went on a date with justin bieber i mean the world would explode yeah but whatever she seems like she might be able to just handle it i can so handle it if you wear those boots It's in that outfit. It's handled. And with that attitude, Jesus. I'll wear this. I'll wear this. What about the pressure, though?
Starting point is 00:15:36 Because you're kind of on both sides of the world because you are releasing music and you are acting, so you're technically a star. And then on the other half, you had to interview the star. So how do you do compelling interviews but also have to respect the fact that they are stuff they maybe don't want to talk about? Well, I think that's sort of the coolest part
Starting point is 00:15:57 as to being on both sides, you could say, because I've had the experience of being interviewed and as well as interviewing. So whenever I do have stars or celebrities or really amazing people come in, it's like I know what it's like to be interviewed, so I know how I would want it to go because I know interviews that I don't like
Starting point is 00:16:16 and I know what I don't like people asking me. So I try to make it as comfortable and cool and as much of a conversation as I can rather than an interview. So I think having that experience and being on both sides just gives me a whole new perspective and and i think it's it just helps me in like all aspects of my career what's the ish moment what's the moment where you thought i have moved here i left my friends at home and i have made it and i'm looking good it's all happening um i think i think i feel that way on any red carpet and like
Starting point is 00:16:47 honestly like every time i step onto a red carpet i just think it's wild like there's like 100 cameras saying my name like i'm really not that cool and like okay this is like this is crazy it's a crazy feeling and um and either that or when i interviewed gwen stefani that was like a huge thing for me because i love her and was it was she awesome she was awesome like like what i expected and much more was she in a red lip she wasn't actually she was like you got nude lip gwen i got the nude lip gwen she was wearing just like a tank top and jeans and she looked so amazing and she was so humble and so inspiring it was it was amazing i can't believe all those babies popped out of her i mean it's not it's not it's not real it's not real like i hope i can be like
Starting point is 00:17:35 that is she drinking the baby's blood after i don't know it's ridiculous she looks incredible um what's been your harley bird heartbreak have there has there oh my lord has there been a project that you put out there or something you auditioned for and didn't get that kind of broke your heart and you thought oh going home i'm done um you know i think hollywood is tough and like all of us experience different things and there's always going to be those moments where you feel like oh no like you know there's times where i feel like is this is too tough and or i'm i'm you take you know the negative comments too seriously and you're like well if you can't handle it then sometimes i feel you know beat down by that and um for me honestly there hasn't
Starting point is 00:18:11 been like one moment and because i i have the attitude where if i don't get a role or if you know the song i recorded didn't work out so well i just had the attitude that you know something you know better is coming for me and it was obviously not meant to be and i like to think that you know everything happens for a reason so i don't like to get knocked down too much but the hardest thing in hollywood for me is just like i think adjusting to the fact that everyone has an opinion and not everyone's gonna be in love with you you know and you have to accept the people that don't accept you and just get past that so i think that's the toughest thing for me but like you just have to find a place that like you feel happy and what's the meanest thing someone said
Starting point is 00:18:48 about you but you still are like you can remember it um i mean some people just say ridiculous stuff like just i'm sure on instagram you get like the worst yeah if you read through the comments on instagram it's just absolutely ridiculous and and um i i used to take it to heart a lot more than i do now but i think i'm coming to terms with you know everyone does have an opinion you can't please everyone um and if i'm happy with how i look and and how i feel then like what they say doesn't matter i'll be honest though people are jealous because i'm jealous right now like you're sitting here i'm actually just jealous of your skin i don't know what to do you look like a little baby pam anderson oh yeah before the tough times
Starting point is 00:19:30 you know before the kid rock wedding moving on the boat in the white bathing suit i'm sorry i just had to take it there if you're gonna get married on a boat i appreciate the bathing suit choice i guess yeah i guess but yeah you you have like a little ham anderson i don't think uh do you have a mirror message what's your life mantra um i think for me it's i am enough oh it's something that my dad um tells me quite often and it's like it's not you know it's you're enough just how you are like you don't have to try and be anything that you're not and there's only one you and you can only be the best you can be so i think you know i always tell myself like i'm enough or you're enough oh i love this yeah um i want to ask you about kind of
Starting point is 00:20:17 growing up and and coming into your own in hollywood because you have a sibling in hollywood as well cody and this has got to be hard because i always think like what's it like to be the trace to miley what's it you know what i mean and it's like siblings you're yeah the siblings because you're doing your own thing but everyone's always going to ask you about cody and then everyone's going to like we're doing right now yeah yeah yeah exactly like you guys but i don't really want to know about cody i want to know what it's like like how hard that is well i think for me and for cody like in our situation it's not hard because he was actually the one that inspired me to get into this industry in the first place really and was the one that like it pushed me
Starting point is 00:20:55 and encouraged me to like get in the studio and make make music or or to try something like he's like you have great fashion like just throw yourself in the fashion world so i think it's like for me it's not tough at all because when people ask me about cody like i'll talk about him for an hour but like just because i admire him so much in that way and and he's the same with me like there's no rivalry it's just purely like we're we're basically just we encourage each other every day and he texts me before any event and like wishes me luck and like it's honestly the the best case scenario situation i could ever you know and i'm so thankful that it's like that because i'm sure a lot of times i think it's easier probably when it's a different yeah girl
Starting point is 00:21:35 boy i think so he's like your older brother so it's like he's gonna probably and he's always protective and and and looking out for me and helping me make the best decisions but i i i don't think i do see it could be tough if you had a sister yeah because you'll always be compared to each other if it's two girls because you could both be doing the same thing and yeah yeah i was thinking about ellen dakota fanning like that's gotta be hard that'd be tough and they look so similar too yeah and they're trying to yeah do the same yeah would um cody take on justin bieber if he started dating you. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:22:05 Oh, yeah. Cody was already not happy about the radio interview, but he knows that Justin's a flirt, so it was just fun. Do they know each other, like, in real life? Oh, yeah, they're friends. Yeah. He'd have to beat his ass, though, if Justin was a dick. I think I'm Team Cody on that one.
Starting point is 00:22:21 I think I'm Team Cody, too. Okay, sorry. Anyway, looks like you're not dating Justin. Well, thanks, guys. It looks like you guys are getting protected from me now, too. Good luck with that. No, and also, you're too good for that. Here's the thing.
Starting point is 00:22:34 We're going to give you some advice because you're young and you're really hot and you're successful and you're nice. So you can get any guy you want. And the lady gang in our old age, we're going to give you advice. Don't date the celebrities. Okay. The millionaires and billionaires. Get your.
Starting point is 00:22:49 No. Billionaire is too crazy. Yeah. You can't have too much. A multimillionaire. A multimillionaire who was self-made. Self-made. Like a tech guy.
Starting point is 00:22:57 Multimillionaire. Didn't grow up with money. Intelligence. But made his own business. You are. Like the guy that started Snapchat or something. a big nerd a really big nerd that's like i can't believe i got it you love a nerd i was always the girl at school that like wanted to hang out with the guy that like was cute but like would hang
Starting point is 00:23:13 out and like the to the tech room or like study or you know like the underdog like i was always that that girl you're not going for like you're gonna be on a private jet we knew we like no because my girlfriend has a rule she says oh i don't fly i don't date anyone that doesn't fly private and i thought you're ridiculous and i thought oh that's kind of smart nobody wants to wait in line at lax yeah that's true okay use your beauty we made deep errors in our choices we did we married for love don't do it girl get that money she's been married for a while she's a little jaded i still think you might want to be a little in love like five percent in love 95 rich anyway um okay don't listen to her advice speaking of advice uh ali's gonna stick around
Starting point is 00:23:57 and she's going to help answer some of your Ask the Lady Gang questions and help you figure out your life. And don't listen to us. Hey, ladies. Funky. Ask the Lady Gang. All right. So for this last section of our podcast,
Starting point is 00:24:15 you're going to help us answer some written-in questions from our fans and try to give the best advice that you can give. Okay, perfect. And we're excited. But before we start, if you guys want to go to jackmanic.com, you can get 20% off using code LADYGANG and I brought you
Starting point is 00:24:28 some presents. What? Yeah. I own a clothing line. They're not there though. Those aren't the right ones for you. Oh.
Starting point is 00:24:34 I brought you a cute little mug and all this. She's teasing you. Oh wait is she? No she's bringing it but it's a teaser for your gift. It's just sitting over there.
Starting point is 00:24:41 Alright. I gave you something but not yet. Not that one. Don't look at that. You have to give good advice. That's not your gift. Yeah we don't know.
Starting point is 00:24:47 If you don't give a good advice you can't have it Allie. And I'm the judge so. Each question gets one gift. Yes. I like this okay so our first question comes from Colleen she says hey lady
Starting point is 00:24:59 gang I'm in a very complicated friendship slash relationship with this guy we've been good friends for a while now but I have really strong feelings we have gone on a few casual dates now and I'm feeling really good vibes from him that I didn't always feel before how do I find out if he has feelings without
Starting point is 00:25:15 just blurting it out and ruining our friendship or being too passive aggressive and not finding out for sure I'm just tired of guessing and possibly wasting my time this is tough because they're friends i know friends i know i never know how one i've never had a friendship turned relationship i haven't either i haven't either i've yeah like i don't there's never been like a guy that i've been just like friends with and it's turned into something like it's always an instant something or it's nothing yeah so friendship is tough because if you still want them to be your friend forever right like you see them being your longtime friend
Starting point is 00:25:47 And then, you know, relationships aren't always going to last, especially at this age, you know. Yeah, you just have to, like, be willing to maybe mess up that friendship a little bit if it goes awry. Yeah, I think you have to be, you have to know that that could possibly happen. You know, it depends on how much she likes him. It sounds like she likes him a lot. And if she's feeling the vibes from him, then maybe they could just discuss it. Also, devil's advocate. What is this?
Starting point is 00:26:12 We kind of went on low-key dates. No, no, no, no, no. Yeah, I don't know about that. If someone is going to date you, this is the hard thing about being friends first, but I feel like you might just be hanging and you think it's a date and he thinks it's just a hang. Well, did he pay for you? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:27 The date, did he pick you up? That's what I mean. Did he make a plan? I'll pick, I'll see you at seven. Did, you know, or was it just a hang? Or is it like, hey, you want to get dinner? Cool. I can meet you there type thing.
Starting point is 00:26:36 Yeah. Or is it like a date? Like he picks you up, he pays, he takes you home. You may have a weird, maybe not kiss at the end. Yeah. Is he trying to? Maybe not. Is he trying to kiss you at the end?
Starting point is 00:26:45 if he's not is he the guy that's your friend until you're both drunk and then you hook up okay okay yeah that's a whole girl you better rent he's just not that into you tonight if a guy wants to be with you he's gonna make it pretty clear but here's something that you could play some games i don't condone playing games very often except here's a game you can play so here's a game you can play a fun one maybe be really coy and be like i got asked out by this guy yeah and um kind of like really you know i don't know if i'm into it but i think i'm gonna give it a shot and i'm gonna go on a date and see how he responds and then after you go on yeah if he responds with like oh okay like cool like you're gonna have the best time yeah have
Starting point is 00:27:29 the best time or wear that slutty dress you'll get laid like yeah yeah or you could say or i'm gonna one-up your advice do exactly what becca said but then be like but i didn't know if i should say yes because i kind of feel like something might be going on with us am i feeling that right i like that because my my choice is you no don't say my choice is you i'm editing yeah you wouldn't say my choice is you but i think i'm like no stop but i think it yeah like you said like maybe she should be like but and like maybe there's something here yeah yeah i feel a little awkward yeah get a little jealous you know that makes me so nervous though i know good luck good luck i'm nervous for her i know
Starting point is 00:28:16 oh god you'll be fine okay our next question comes from lacy on email and she says hey guys so i'm getting married in june and the question i constantly get from everyone around me is so are you nervous to get married my response is simply no when i say i get stuck with weird faces puzzled looks and responses like well this is interesting my question to you is it weird or not right that I'm not actually nervous or freaked out to be married. I'm so content with my life and my future husband. We're completely open and honest. So why would people think that I would be nervous? Kelty, were you nervous? I was nervous and I went to a lot of therapy before I got married. Did you really? Yeah, because here's what happened for me is that I knew he was the guy
Starting point is 00:28:54 and then three months before our wedding date, I started picking him apart. I woke up every morning And I was like, oh, am I going to have to deal with that face every day for the rest of my life? Am I going to have to deal with the way you cook dinner and then eat your dinner before you put your plates away? Am I going to have to deal with your giant clothes? Like all the little things. Like I got so crazy. That aren't even things. They're not even things.
Starting point is 00:29:16 And we went to therapy and the therapist was like, you're so stupid. But basically I, we had to work out like a lot of our communication and I was totally freaked out. But I wasn't really scared to get married. i was just scared about like the finality of it you know this is my person yeah it's forever is this what i want forever i wasn't really him yeah like she doesn't sound like she's nervous though i don't think she's not everyone else is saying like are you nervous but if she's confident and not nervous then she should not be worried about what anyone else thinks that's the best case scenario ever is to not be nervous that doesn't make you weird she sounds so confident she's like
Starting point is 00:29:51 yeah i'm getting married like he's the one so i feel like you won't be nervous are you nervous i'm not nervous at all um but you know i'm obviously not like walking down the aisle tomorrow just maybe in like a year if we get there if i can find a dress and stuff um but i think that everybody's different yeah and you work out the kinks at some point or another i think before you get married whether it's two years before you get engaged a day before the wedding like everybody's allowed the freak out moment you maybe already had yours you may never have yours it doesn't mean anything if anything i'd say if you were in kelty's situation right now asking us i might be like maybe postpone the wedding but you're not and you're super confident
Starting point is 00:30:30 so don't let it like mind f you you know yeah i mean it probably just comes down to personality and she probably just has a super chill laid-back personality you're probably just you're ready so it's awesome congratulations good for you i'm jealous all right our last question comes from sarah and she says hello lovelies can we please talk about the age-old problem of not being taken seriously as a young sassy attractive female i know it's nothing new but it's so frustrating i'm 26 just finished my first full year of practicing law and have difficulties getting opposing counsel and clients to realize that i am just as qualified as anyone else despite being a member of the lady gang this is interesting because you are young but you're very successful
Starting point is 00:31:11 and very accomplished and very mature so how do you do it very cute yeah and super hot at the same time yeah but how do you deal with people not taking you seriously because you know what's up yeah like and and i think that's a a frustrating thing for a lot of young people because it's you know people think from you know your age that they don't take you seriously they don't think you know as much they don't think you're as mature and i just turned 18 a lot of people do times think i'm a lot older than that but i am just 18 and and then when people hear that it's like well you know she's a kid but it's like a lot of people i think like deal with that and i think people just need to be more accepting of the fact that young people can sometimes be a lot more mature
Starting point is 00:31:50 than someone you know over 20 or over 30 and um a funny story my my little brother uh he's 12 he's very very smart too and he said to me the other day he's like i don't understand why people talk to me like a 12 year old like he's like i'm like because you're 12 like that's that's he literally says his age yeah he literally says that like people talk to me like i'm 12 and I'm like that that's your age and he's like but how would they know if I didn't know as much as like a 40 year old did and they just hadn't learned anything their whole lives and I'm like okay well oh my god it's so funny he's hilarious but I think you know everyone deals with it in some sort of way but you know if you can just work to prove that you really are mature and just
Starting point is 00:32:30 be yourself and do you get the dumb blonde thing um I think you know I get a lot of that like online I think if people watch videos of me I'll just see a photo of me you know people are really quick to judge like that um especially if you just saw pictures of me and you hadn't actually met me like a lot of people think i'd be this dumb blonde who's rude and a bitch and you know and i'm and if they just see on like instagram or something like that yeah if they just see pictures of you on instagram like how would they know but they immediately think that i'm gonna be like that so it's like so many people are just quick to judge but you really just have to work your way i have a trick so one of my old executive producers um we go to work so early in the morning
Starting point is 00:33:07 and she always had a fierce outfit on like i mean a very professional looking look and um like a heel and a pencil skirt and a blouse and i was like really classy really classy and i was always like in my sweatpants and like an athlete yeah and and i was always like how do you even find the time to like do this and she goes i have to work a lot harder than a man for people to take me seriously and i think the outward appearance can really change things so maybe that's something of like just maybe even dressing up your age a little bit yeah that's just to you know fool the eye also i feel like the more you fight it and the more you try to are vocal about you're trying to constantly prove yourself and say that you are just as qualified and just as intelligent and just
Starting point is 00:33:49 as worldly blah blah blah i think sometimes the silence speaks the loudest in those moments and your work is actually going to prove that so like rather than actually yeah like your quiet confidence and your competence are going to get you much farther than putting up a fight because that also shows yeah and it's like yeah talking about it with your peers or something like that that almost like releases that into the universe of people not taking you seriously so if you just kind of yeah do your job do it awesome and put on your ponytail pump get that grown-up pump also you don't have to say you're great just be great unless you're on the lady gang in which you need to tell everyone that you're great we're great we're so great um ali we're so excited that
Starting point is 00:34:30 you were here i'm so proud of you and just like sort of an awe that you are only 18 years old and have accomplished so much you've out accomplished us and we're much older than you so oh yeah way to live your best life um guys you guys you guys you guys um you can follow ali on instagram and twitter and social media ali simpson and you can listen to her show on radio disney and serious um and she's getting better guests on her show than we are on ours so you're probably going to want to tune in is there anything else coming up that we should know about um for me right now it's music i'm starting to really throw myself into the deep end of making music and you know in the past i've you know i've got a couple singles out on itunes yeah and it's
Starting point is 00:35:10 just been purely for fun and just something i've sort of done as a hobby but uh i'm working with some really great producers and stuff right now and um just sort of throwing myself into that so People can definitely look forward to some music.
