It's time for a quickie.
Podcast One presents The Lady Gang,
The Hollywood Girl Posse with Lady Gang Quickie.
Here's Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek.
Let's make this quick.
Hello, hello, hello.
Welcome to Lady Gang Quickie.
I am Becca here with Jack and Kelty.
Hello.
Hi, you have a cute little periwinkle.
Is that a periwinkle cardigan?
Yeah, you know, it's from Aerie.
All of my stores.
They don't sponsor this podcast, which is so annoying.
Or they don't notice any time I tag them and all of my clothes are from there.
So, because we're over 30.
It's because you're not Gen Z.
Yeah, sorry.
I feel like I would be even more of an influencer for Aerie because I've shopped at them since I was 15.
So, I've given them way more money than any Gen Z would.
You didn't have like a little break in the shopping?
I feel like there was a point in time.
No, there's definitely a break.
Okay.
I was going to say.
There was like a 15-year break.
And then I went back.
like I said, all of my stores I used to shop at because they're just reliable.
Can I tell you before we start something so funny?
Yes.
Just thinking about that.
Okay.
So, you know, I've been on a big, listen, everything's hard out here in 2026.
Like we're in a recession.
Everybody knows like the jobs are down, the podcast, like we can be real about this, guys.
Like you're struggling.
We're struggling.
I have a dumb question.
Are we in, do they say like we're in a recession or just like, are we in one?
I think we are in a recession.
I think.
All signs are pointing yes, but like, are we?
My personal Kelty is in a recession.
I am in a recession as well.
I'm pretty sure that we don't even have to say it anymore
because this is now just, it is.
It is.
And I think like, to be real,
like the tariffs were really hard
on the advertisers for the podcast
and the tariffs were hard on the advertisers for the TV.
Unfortunately, all of us make our life in entertainment,
which is like, you need brands, you know?
So anyway, long story short,
it. I have been getting creative in ways to just maximize like, you know, like so many people,
like what I own, what I have make money when I'm asleep. And so one of the ways that I did that,
sorry, this is so dumb, but I just want to tell you it's because it's kind of funny. We were
talking about clothes, um, is that there's a company in LA called Janet Mandel and they also
have like Albright, but Janet Mandel, she'll take your old gowns and things you've already worn.
And then she rents them. And that's like what she is. She's a showroom and I've rented a million
dresses. And she started this thing where she will take your designer pieces that you have in
your closet that you're not wearing and she'll rent them out and you can make money. And like
every time someone, it's a thousand dollars to rent a gown there, you make a hundred bucks.
And I was like, well, I have all these pieces, my Bob Mackie, like I have a lot of gowns that
I've bought or been, you know, over these years. And I was like, all these people have weddings.
I was like, I'm going to take over like 15 things, like a Dior jacket that I'm not wearing.
and I was like and I'm gonna make a couple thousand dollars a month because everyone's
gonna rent my stuff not one just got my invoice one rental that's good what was it for they wanted
the white I've only worn it once that white and ox like little rental thing it's a it's a dress I
got in net-a-porter it's white um but I honestly was like I gotta be honest with you I'm never
gonna wear that dress again a hundred dollars at a pop I'm just gonna go sell it on Poshmark I'm
just gonna go sell it on real real like i'm i'm i'm retaking back the gowns and then i was like
so they've been there for six months and i was like one rental and i was like nobody wants my
stuff and she goes they just all want archival everyone wants to be wearing archival dior and
archival whatever anyway so times are tough out here i feel like they should give you more than
10 i do too i feel like that the split should be a little bit more work and then they repair it
they dry clean it like oh okay all right anyway but i was like nobody wants to rent
During the entire award season, no one wants to rent my Bob Mackie.
I guess only me wants to wear the unicorn Bob Mackie.
Too recognizable.
Anyway, long story short, Aerie.
Anyway.
You are so Jennifer Tilly because remember her reunion dress for Beverly Hills was the,
it was her face on, was it Balmain?
Oh, yeah.
I mean, that is a Kelty move if I have ever seen one.
You guys are really kindred spirits.
Insane.
Like, we're the same.
Anyway, I don't want to make this about me.
It's about you.
Okay. All right. Well, Kelty, I told her a couple nights ago, I said, Hey, I have a really fun
episode planned for the quickie. You don't have to work for once in your life. I will do some
heavy lifting. I'll produce this out. And so I did kind of scare her. She's like, What do you
have planned? And are there any guesses? Like, what did you what do you think I'm gonna do here?
I truly don't know. Because I don't think you've ever done this before.
Like, I think maybe you're going to quit.
No, I did it for someone's, I did it for you guys for, was it Mother's Day?
Oh, yeah, Mother's Day was really cute.
Where I surprised you guys with your mom's messages.
Oh, that was so sweet.
Oh, my God, that was very sweet.
That was amazing.
Oh, we should do that again.
Actually, that was so nice.
I don't know.
I feel like you think it's trash and you're taking over because you're like, we got to redo this.
And you want to talk about weird, like, you're probably watching Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
Do you want to talk about that maybe?
I actually haven't started yet, but I hear it's wonderful.
no what if I was like you guys
I am actually going to be stepping down
you would do it live
you're like in my last
fleeting trying to get
ads and downloads
I'm going to break news on the
lady gang
so I'm getting ready to show you a picture
and then I just want your
honest reactions
no
no wait whose baby is this this is my baby and shut the up it's the fourth member of the lady
gang because she's a lady i'm gonna cry and she's coming in august stop it no you're having a girl
oh my god wait this is so exciting oh my god i'm so excited oh my god
she has a whole head already she has a whole big head so her body is measuring like small
petite not too small well like you but then she has a big head which zach and ford have like the
world's largest heads um and she looks exactly like ford so i put this side by side so here's
that was her and like yeah sometimes all babies look the same but once you've had one and you
see different profiles of different that's for it they look like the same baby well and
she has your wait that's that's ford that's ford same like profile so same nose same lips
it's your nose so first of all how dare you keep this from us well you know becca you know every
time i see you i always ask you about what's going on okay i have to tell you something no i need to
tell you something that happened and i was like you're fucking crazy so a few weeks ago like two
weeks ago and I didn't bring this up. I was at a photo shoot and I ran into Sue Madore, who is a
publicist and she works with us and she works with everyone and she works with podcast one.
And she was like, Oh my God, I'm so excited for Becca. And I was like, yeah, I know. She seems
like everything's going great for her. And she goes, no. And like the new baby. And I was like,
I don't think so. No, no. I was like, I was like, Oh, I know. I think she's, I think we're going to
do more mom podcasting. Like, I think we're gonna, you know, cause like there, we have so many lady
gang moms who are trying to figure out what to do. And I was like, I think she meant that like
her new baby, but not like a baby. I was like, I would know. And she was like, Oh, she's like,
Oh, maybe I wasn't supposed to say anything. And I was like, Oh yeah. And I was like,
she looked at me and she was like, wow, she didn't tell you that's dark. And I was like,
oh, so does she know? Because she may know only because, okay, so this is airing
the day after the Baby Gang launch. So yesterday was the first episode of Baby Gang. And on that
episode, I had my surrogate on with me and we were talking about that's how we announced that
this baby was coming. And so I did have to have conversations at podcast one in regards to
like an announcement and that there's going to be some press around it. I mean,
maybe today there's crickets, who knows, but you know, just to prepare everybody.
Cause it's like, you know, whatever. And then, and then with sponsors and brands and stuff,
having the conversation around like being a, having a new baby and all that stuff. So
I knew it was risky. And I did tell, like, I told Sue at the other Sue at podcast one,
I did tell her like, we're not telling the girls yet. Cause I wanted to get their reaction
on camera and you little sphinx i'm dying this is wild because i was so confused i was like
sue i was like come on and i was like she's like wow you guys really aren't close anymore
and i was like no we are we are close we know everything i know about jack's third nipple

The Lady Gang.
I knew you were going to keep this from us.
I just knew it.
You felt it, Jack?
Yes.
Well, because I literally, I'm not kidding you.
Like anytime I get the chance, I ask Becca, like what's going on with the surrogate?
Like every single time.
And I'm like, I just had an inkling that like it was going to be a surprise.
Because you had, but then I thought you gave up on a second baby.
That's where I was at.
I was like, oh, she's like, no, it's too much.
I'm not doing it.
And there was all these different, you probably talk about our baby gang, but like all the
different laws of being in Texas and like how to get the surrogate and everything.
Like it was just so much that I was like, oh, she's just decided to have one because you were very troubled by this for a long time about Ford being an only child like Jack.
Oh, my God. God forbid. God forbid. No, I did for a minute.
So, you know, just a little bit of backstory, though, the incredible angel that carried Ford lives in Texas and we were planning on doing it again round two.
she was wonderful. And we had such a great, you know, rapport. But then since Ford was born,
laws have changed in Texas. And it's too risky to have a woman carrying, for me,
to carry my baby. Because if something were to happen, I didn't trust that her life would become,
would be more important than the baby. Because that to me, I mean, I don't care what you say,
to me still at the, in this moment, the surrogate, the woman carrying the baby is her life is more
important. She has her own children, her own family. So I was like,
it wasn't a Sophie's choice. Cause it's a no brainer, but because I was just too afraid
and I'd had conversations with a few people leading up to that, trying to decide, do we
just risk it? Do we not? And, and she was like, I'm willing to risk this. Like I, you know, um,
But I just, to not make it too serious, I just felt like there was no world that I would feel comfortable with her living in a state that they really do. If there's a heartbeat inside of your belly, it really doesn't have, they don't really, some people don't really give a shit what's happening to the person carrying the baby.
so um we found a wonderful surrogate that after that happened i was really heartbroken and i was
just so sad and defeated and i just felt like you know this is the universe telling me maybe this is
it this is the part that you you know and i'm and we were so happy when we made up our minds that we
were gonna just put in put an end to the journey we were very happy we were thrilled about the idea
of having Ford and Ford alone.
And then this random email comes through from my friend
and he said, I know that you guys
are feeling very discouraged,
but there's this wonderful, wonderful woman in Atlanta
where I'm from, where Zach's from,
where entire families are from.
So it felt like a really crazy good omen
because our families are there
and Georgia is a little bit friendlier of a state
with protecting pregnant people.
They're not a total ban state.
It's just so, I like hate that I know all these things,
but so I met her.
She came to see the Lady Gang show in Atlanta
when we were there and I met her in person
and she's just so awesome and wonderful
and that we had a conversation on the podcast
of Baby Gang yesterday
where we chat about the whole journey.
And I was like, you know what?
We'll try this again.
We'll go for it.
Why not?
And then we did one transfer in the summer and it did not take, well, it took, but then she miscarried. And then we did another transfer in December and that took, but because of all of our history with false starts, with losses, with all the stuff, I was just like, until we have that 20 week scan, which is kind of like where you can check off all the boxes and it's a little bit more relaxed from that point on.
you've seen like the organs and the brain and all of the things that are how they're supposed to
look. So that was this morning, the 20 week scan. So the timing of this. Yeah. Holy shit. We haven't
told Ford yet. Like he doesn't know yet. So don't worry, Kelty. He's the last to know.
How do you think he's going to respond? He's been having weird moments lately of
like before he's like, I don't want a brother or sister. Like he's like, I don't want a baby. I
don't want a baby for so long. He's been saying that. And then the other day he said, I, it's
okay if we have a baby, like it's okay if we do. He doesn't want a sister. I'll tell you that much.
But then he's been having these questions with Zach. One morning he woke up and Zach went in,
his eyes had just opened. And we've been telling Ford, like you started in mommy's belly. Cause
he's seen a lot of pregnant women around and he's like, was I in your belly? And I said, yes,
cause he did. He started in my belly as an egg. And so I said, yes, I, yes, you did start in my
belly. But then I didn't get into any of the... It's too confusing. I don't even understand it.
Exactly. He's four. So then the other morning he woke up and he said to Zach, he's like,
so I started in mommy's belly, but then whose belly did I come out of?
Which is really weird. Like, does he remember?
He's getting flashbacks. I don't know about being born.
It was not your belly, bitch. I heard another voice. It was another voice.
That's crazy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So it was something like that.
Or where did, but did she, but did she, did I come out of her belly?
It was like something like that.
Wait, so what's your due date?
August 26th.
That is so exciting.
So she's going to be a Virgo.
But if she comes early, she'll be a Leo, which is Zach's sign.
Oh my God.
I can't wait to meet baby Kelty Jacqueline.
Do you have names?
We're having trouble.
Like I always do a family name,
like Ford was the family name.
So it's really hard.
Girl names are hard
because some of the ones that I love
have become more common.
And then my grandmother,
who I'm like,
she passed away when I was in high school,
but she was like my person, you know?
Yeah.
And her name would have been a no brainer,
but everywhere I go,
someone has this name.
I was literally,
I don't know why,
but last night I was looking at the 100 most popular baby names and it's like all the girl
names are all the names that I think people think are unique but they're literally not
it's all like 97 avas yes it's like I don't know it's like all of these like me may is it mave or
me if like mave and like dotty Beatrice like things that I thought I think people thought
were unique and then they're like number seven on the most popular list because everybody's going
like vintage and like yeah timeless and grandma names so isn't it gonna be weird when we're
grandmas and all these people are naming their kids like becca or like rebecca like oh it's old
fashion but it's after my grandma so old school jessica lindsey ashley yeah ever heard of it
it's fresh unique well that's the thing it's like those names are not popular anymore so it's like
if you were going to go unique, name her Ashley. Do I go Ashley? She would be the only Ashley
in her entire grade. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. Everywhere. So we're trying to figure it
out. It's really tough. We knew Ford for so long. It was so easy with Ford. Yeah. So it's really
hard. It's really hard. This is so exciting. But honestly, my Kelty brain is swirling because I'm
like, oh, this makes so much sense. Like you've been so passionate about baby gang and like
wanting to do something. And I was like, oh, this is amazing. And now I'm like, oh, we're having a
girl. Like we're having a girl. My God, I cannot wait. Is that wild? Thank God you're having a
girl. I think it's very important that this happens. Yeah. Well, she got to choose. No,
I know, but, like, Becca should be a girl mom.
Yeah.
Like, and a boy mom.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
Like, all your clothes and your style and all that jewelry.
Now Ford's bitchy wife won't get it.
Yeah.
Fuck her.
It's all for the...
Maeve.
Maeve the wife.
