Well, what is this?
Welcome to the Lady Gang.
That's amazing. Say that again.
The Lady Gang.
Things are about to change around here.
Each week we catch up with Hollywood's hottest girl posse,
Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek.
Hello, hello, hello. Welcome to Lady Gang. I'm Becca Tobin. You're with Jack Vanek and Kelty Knight.
Hello.
Hello, everyone. How are you?
Wonderful.
How are you?
How are you?
Rebecca Tobin, happy birthday!
Woo-hoo!
Thank you so much.
Did you notice on the Lady Gang calendar that I changed it to my actual birthday?
Oh, my God.
Well, no, I knew that this wasn't coming out on your actual birthday.
No, my birthday in Lady Gang calendar, not the podcast episode.
It just says, happy birthday, Becca.
And it was two days after my actual birthday.
No, because that's the episode.
That's the episode name.
No, you guys.
Yeah.
Hold on.
Yeah, because this is the happy birthday.
Oh, you're right.
Sorry.
This is the happy birthday Becca episode coming.
Well, you know how, like, the first couple years of Lady Gang, you always thought my birthday was on a different day?
Yeah.
I think it's the 16th, but I'm not sure.
It's the 18th.
Well, you guys, mine's still wrong on Google, like, for some reason.
It's the wrong date.
And then when Jared and I started dating, he booked me a flight and made my birthday the wrong day, so I didn't get TSA pre-check.
Oh, shit.
I was so pissed.
Sins.
Sins.
No.
And so, full disclosure, we're giving Becca the weekend off.
And so we are filming this before she takes her New York birthday trip in honor of Becca.
So I, you know, we will have a full report on the birthday trip on the next episode.
But I wanted to make sure that we had an episode drop to celebrate you on your big 4-0.
What a dream.
She's over the hill.
I'm over the hill.
I just have this memory of my mom turning 40.
And A, I thought she was so ancient.
But B, we woke up that morning to 40 pink flamingos stuck in the front lawn.
Did any of your moms have this?
No.
I've never even heard of that before.
This is a big thing in Canada where I grew up.
It was like a big...
Who does it?
Penguins, flamingos.
Your friends.
I think my dad had...
Do you remember?
They don't have them anymore.
But before pre-billboard, there were like trucks that could come with like a sign where
each letter was the little acrylic letter.
and I think my mom had one come onto the lawn
that was like Kenny's 40 or whatever.
Like, oh my God, it was a big trashy deal.
Are you hoping that your little community of people
puts up some flamingos in your yard?
I would love it.
I can arrange that.
We can arrange that, but you won't be there.
Well, I will.
I come home the night of my actual birthday.
Oh, right.
Yeah, that's so cute.
Yeah, I'm trying to decide how to celebrate.
You know, the closer that this trip gets,
I leave early tomorrow morning, me and Zach.
Like, the closer it gets, like, the more terrible I feel that I didn't want to spend my 40th
birthday weekend, like, with my child, who I love so much.
You spend every other day with him.
That's, I know.
It's not his 40th birthday.
It's not.
He does love a party and he loves a cake.
Well, not a party.
He loves a cake.
So I'm trying to decide if I'm going to do that.
Like, we get home too late on Sunday.
So I guess I'm going to have to celebrate my birthday again, maybe on, like, Monday.
Yeah, you need a cake.
Day before this airs.
I think that'll be really cute.
do like a little birthday with him have some balloons or tell Zach to do something be like
get an ice cream cake like you know yeah that's because you'll want that picture later like it's
so strange how time goes but like I have a picture of my dad with his 60th birthday cake
and it feels so ancient now like he looks so different but it's like one of my most memorable
pictures of me and my dad is me holding the cake and it says 60 on it so I think you should do that
for weird although he's gonna be pissed because like all Christmas we were talking about how his
birthday is in February. We both have the two worst birthday months ever. But we were talking
about I said, you know, after Christmas, because he kept being like, when is my birthday? I said,
after Christmas, it's a little bit after Christmas. And so the other day, we mentioned that it was
going to be my birthday, like before his birthday, and he was really not thrilled about it. Oh,
no. He's like, I thought you said my birthday was after Christmas. Your birthday is after
Christmas, not my birthday. So, you know, damn times. All right. Well, let's, we have a special
surprise for you, but before we get to that, let's get to our good week, bad weeks. Okay. You
got to, you still have to work, bitch. Do the intro. It's time for good week. Yes, it is bad
week. Oh no. Um, God, do I do this or yeah. Okay. Um, I, this is so annoying, but because I'm
turning 40, I feel like I can do it and not be annoying. Okay. Okay. 40 freaked me out. You know,
I've always been somebody who like the thought of like my body deteriorating into like an old
little lady, like frail, whatever, really in like saggy skin, all those things like, you know,
really freaked me out. And I went and did a DEXA scan because there's this company that opened up
in Austin. And it's very cool. It's like a longevity lab and you go do blood work and
there's all this things I post about on Instagram. So first I did this DEXA scan and you get the
results right away. And I had done a DEXA scan. So you lay down and it's like a Prenomo thing.
No, it's not an MRI. It just, it does your bone density, your muscle mass, your fat percentage,
like whatever all those things and um I had done it a couple years ago about three years ago just
because I was really curious about my bone density because it was like around the time everybody got
us very nervous about bone density and I did it and then I did it again three years later and I
was really bracing myself for everything to have gotten a lot worse and it turns out it all got
better I mean my bone density didn't improve my bone density stayed consistent which is not
common. It's supposed to continue to go down, but apparently heavy weightlifting really does help
bone density. But I, I am 6% less body fat than I was three years ago. 6% is a very hard number
to lose. Like it's hard to lose 2% of body fat over the course of whatever, which means that I
built up and I built up a ton of muscle, like a ton of lean muscle. And I just felt like, wow,
This was a really exciting gift to be given on my 40th birthday.
And then yesterday, I got my blood work back and my biological age, 25.
No, it's not.
Swear to God, I can show you on my app.
How?
I'm healthy as you guys.
Like, I have to say, I will say in the last three years, I have really gotten very committed to my, look, it says 25 years minus 14 years from actual age.
Oh, my God.
Blood work overview.
Judith, you're 86.
No, no, no, no.
I, yeah, I'm really, I feel better now about getting older.
because really I'm not. Because you're really 25. I'm 25. 25. So that was it. That was a real win.
That's nice. That's nice. Thank you. I would urge everybody to go. I know it's annoying and
triggering and I'm not somebody who even weighs myself. So I understand like the avoidance of
those types of things. But the DEXA scan is very interesting just because we are learning so much
more about like us aging and our bones. And it just really freaks me out to think that I could
slip in the shower and die, you know? So here we go. My bad week is I was flying back from
Atlanta with Ford last week and Zach wasn't with us. It was just me and Ford and he's so shy. We've
talked about it. He is so shy. It takes him like three days to warm up to a human. Don't I know it.
You know, so we go to we're at the clear line at the airport in Atlanta, and I scan my face and scan his boarding pass. And the person at clear looks at Ford and she's like, Hey, Rutherford, because again, his name on his on his ID is on the boarding pass is Rutherford. Hi, Rutherford. So already, he's like, that's not really my name. And then stranger danger. Yeah. And then she goes, Is this your mommy? Are you flying with your mommy today?
because they have to get a verbal, yes, because of human trafficking. He would not. He would not.
We stood there for several painful minutes where I was thinking to myself, I was like,
do I pull up his birth certificate? Do I pick up, do I show all the pictures in my phone? But like
all those things could be doctored. I'm like, he, I was like, Ford, if you don't shake your head
and say that I'm your mom, like we can't get on this plane. We won't be able to fly.
Hiding behind you?
Like, what was he doing?
Hiding, hiding, hiding, hiding.
And the more you push him because he's such a defiant a-hole, the less he will do for you.
So finally, the supervisor came over and was like, hey, what's going on?
And I was like, I'm really sorry.
I have a painfully shy child.
And the supervisor looked at him and looked at me and she goes, I think it's pretty obvious
he's your child.
He looks exactly like you.
I mean, you do looking like the same.
But it was really, I was like, you don't understand how important this
Is. Like, I should have threatened him about the airport police again, but I didn't. I wasn't as
quick on my feet at that point. Oh, my God. Lesson learned. Lesson learned. You know who Ford looks
like? He looks like the kid in All Her Fault. Do you watch All Her Fault? No. Oh, there's a kid.
You should Google it. Oh, yeah. I saw him on the red carpet. Yeah, he's really cute. He's like a
tiny little Ford. He's a little bit older and he's like the kid that gets abducted in All Her Fault.
but it's like
the same little
swoopy haircut
so cute
cute
so cute
oh my gosh
he does
he's so cute
this little boy
yes
he was like
he had a little brooch
he was so cute
I was like
he had a brooch on
he had a little brooch
how cute
adorable
oh my god
um I'll go
uh my good week is
two of my favorite shows
of all time
are back on tv
and I am just so
excited
the traitors
they're back
better than ever
Better than ever.
Are you watching it?
Oh my God, of course.
No, we're having Stephen Coletti on in like two weeks.
I'm so excited.
I just saw that, I freaked out.
Well, you didn't watch Love Island,
but Rob, one of the traitors.
I might go back and watch Love Island based on the riz
I'm feeling from the traitors from Rob.
You have to.
I don't know what it is about this man.
I would let him ruin my life 10 times over.
You won't get it by just seeing a picture.
like he's attractive but like it's the way that he acts with everybody like there is something
about that man that is like so enigmatic so sexy like I don't even know like I get giddy watching
him there we don't want to have a spoiler alert we don't have a spoiler alert but he was in a
challenge and he had to like get something and then put it in his pocket and he like lifted up
his shirt to put the thing in his pocket and you could see the band of his underwear and then the
jeans and the belt. I haven't felt that way about a torso since I was 22. And it was Pete Wentz's
torso. Tank top he's wearing. It doesn't matter. He looks so hot. He's perfect. Becca, you're
incorrect on this. You guys, he's wearing a vest. I don't trust either of you. You dated Ryan Ross
who wore a rose vest and this guy has a crocheted sleeveless vest on and a weird smirk on his face.
That is his one fallen.
He is literally nothing like Ryan Ross.
He's like the antithesis of Ryan Ross vibes.
He's like, he will ruin your life.
He will ruin your life.
So he's also a snake wrangler from Alabama.
And I'm like, I want to see him on like Survivor or something.
He'd be so good on one of those shows.
I would watch his own show.
I am so into him.
So hot.
The snake alone.
The snake part of it, I won't.
I can't.
No, it's so hot.
There's this video of him like catching like a lizard.
And he's like, oh, it's a, like, I don't know, like a razorback, like brown, whatever.
And I'm like, wow, I will please just ruin me.
Let me tell you this about the traitors.
Dylan Efron walked so that Rob could penetrate.
Okay.
And like, that is, you can clip that because that is how I feel about this season.
Like, I literally was so into Dylan Efron.
I don't even remember that guy.
I don't remember Dylan Efron.
Like, no.
Well, it's like Dylan is the guy that you marry.
And Rob is the guy that you like.
They are like yin and yang.
He's the bad boy version of Dylan.
And I I can't I feel like I regress into a 25 year old.
I'm like, please, please, I will do anything for you.
And also, we cannot kick him off.
Like, I need him.
Is he so good?
He's so good.
I need him, Lisa Rinna.
Yes.
And Michael Rapaport's so annoying.
but I need like... He's got to go. He's got to go. But like him and Lisa Rinna and Candace,
I need till the end. Well, I think that obviously, spoiler alert, if you haven't watched the first
three episodes, but we're up to date now, but they did such a good job casting them as traitors. I'm
like, it's perfect. And they work so well together. And honestly, I knew the secret
traitor was Mama Kelsey from the very beginning because I'm like, they needed an excuse to try
to keep her in and it didn't work. Is she already gone? She's already gone, yeah. Eek. I think that
they really wanted to keep her until the end and that was their way of doing it. But it would
backfire. Also, there was like all these physical challenges. I was like, she didn't even go like
she wasn't a part of them. I don't even see her. No, she was like a novelty. But it's like she's
like 75. You can't have that. Yeah. I'm going so off tangent here. I know we're in Good Week,
Bad Week and it's Becca's birthday show. But can I just say something? The thing that I think I
love about Donna Kelsey is that like, obviously her sons have so much money. She's the mother-in-law
of Taylor Swift. She's getting ready to be the mother of the groom at the biggest wedding in
the world. And she is like, not going to Dr. Diamond. Like, do you know what I mean? Like
any other, I'm sorry, even my own mom would be like, oh, it's time for me to go and do something
insane because the whole world is watching me. I'm in all these photos. She shows up and she's
got her, you know, Target sweater vest and her like glasses she got, you know, at the People's
Glasses store. Like she just is so unaffected. Right. And it is incredible to watch. Like I
am just like, you know, it's nice. I can't wait to cut to the wedding and have her have like
giant a new face, new fresh facelift. She lost a hundred pounds. No one told her to go get a
spray tan before she went on traders or like an eyelash extension like she's like well that's i'm
wearing these goddamn flat shoes that the chef set the bj's roadhouse wear and she's like she has
it's because she has two boys she doesn't have daughters if you have daughters those daughters
will blow you so hard into submission like my mom i don't even think she wanted to get botox but my
sister and i were like we don't want to look at that face anymore there are things to do valerie
come on pull it together we don't want to look like you when we get older yeah I'm like show us
what's possible so I think it's because she doesn't have daughters that are bullying her
into being hot and good for her well literally I'm like babe there's something we can fix these
pores but she doesn't want to be fixed and I love that but that's what her whole thing was it's like
she's every she's America's mom that's what they kept saying about her where it's like that's why
she was so unassuming because she was like you know just this little lady yeah but didn't work
She's gone. So my bad week is there's this trend going around. It's like the 2016 trend where
everybody's posting their pictures from 2016. It's been 10 years. So like I go to do mine.
You guys, it was the year of my ex, the bad one. And I have to say, I couldn't find a single
picture of me with my friends from that year. It was really bad. It was like only pictures
with me and him or pictures from my clothing line, which is what I used most of. But I was like, wow,
that is interesting looking back on. I have a question. What do you do with your photos
of your ex? I mean, they're still just like in my phone. Yes. It's a weird thing. But you're
You're never looking back on them unless you do.
I don't want to like, oh, but I don't want to delete.
Like, I mean, I'm talking about even like it was funny at the Rockettes reunion.
Like there was one year during Rockettes where I was in the Myrtle Beach cast and I met this like really hot guy we called Runner.
And he was like so hot and I was so drinking and sloppy.
And like when we were at the 100, everyone was sending me pictures of like my time at the Rockette.
And there were so many pictures of me like licking this guy's face and like a Beatles shirt.
like just after the show just being like disgusting and I was like this is such a great memory but like
I don't want Chris to go through my phone one day and see that I'm like holding on to pictures of
Daryl the runner you know what I mean like he doesn't mean anything to me but like it's a part
of your life yeah I mean you can't I have the worst memory anyways that I'm like if I deleted
a picture I wouldn't remember anything happened so I'm like I think even the bad ones you got to
keep in there yeah right I just had one year where I didn't like go from phone to cloud or
like from cloud to new phone so my life started in like 2015 that's it there's nothing else there's
nobody else there's even when I got a new computer I didn't I didn't turn the pictures into the next
computer I highly recommend it so Becca well that's the most Becca thing on your birthday
You're like, I don't do the cloud. I'm just the cloud.
Well, who's going to be looking at those pictures? I'm certainly not. My kids don't want to.
They don't care. They can Google enough to be like, OK, I've got I got the idea. Like, great.
Well, our generation, like if you were online in the early like mid 2000s, we were like the
photo bucket generation where you had to like upload your picture to a website. But then like
I don't know where most of my pictures are from that time because once the website expires,
the pictures are gone. So like when I had my live journal, I have nothing. I'm like,
I don't know what any, it's like link expired. So other than the pictures that people like
had saved of me that are like just on the internet, just because of like my scene queen
era, that's like the only thing I have. So it's, we lived in a weird time back then.
That's the only way I can find my wedding pictures is if I look for them on the internet.
Yeah.
That's so funny.
Isn't that crazy?
Okay, I have a bad week.
I, yesterday, drove.
You know what I like to leave the house?
I thought I had a doctor's appointment for my thyroid doctor,
and I knew I didn't get a confirmation,
but I was like, I probably missed it.
I didn't answer the phone.
I thought it was spam.
I drove to Beverly Hills during rush hour yesterday for one hour.
I got to the appointment.
there was no appointment and then I drove back for one hour two hours of my life
for a Keltishka non-appointment and now I have to go back for my real appointment and I literally
was like can you just take my blood now because I you know and they were like no we don't have
time I was like shit I hate myself that sucks how can I be so hyper organized and also so
unorganized because you hyper focus on things that you care about and you really don't focus
on anything else. Yeah, 1000%. And your health is not at the top of that list. The health is,
it's on my list. The health is not helping. My good week, my good week is to do with the
Golden Globes. This is a little after, but I did something, well, okay, I did two things that I'm
really proud of. The first thing is that when you work in the entertainment business, there's lots
of people that you dislike. And maybe that's just me. It might be a me issue. When you go to the
Golden Globes and you're working it, you see a lot of people you like and then you see the people
that you don't like and the people that have maybe said horrible things about you behind your back
and you found out about it and you have to act like you like them. I didn't do that this year
because this is my fem year. I just walked right past those people. I ignore them. I'm not fake
nicing anymore. And it is. It feels great. People try to talk to me. They try to act. They were
like, oh, my God, there she comes. Ha ha ha. And I was just like, hey. And then I walk by like
cold as ice. And it's very freeing. I don't care anymore. I want you to know with my eyes.
I know what you said about me, bitch. And good luck to you.
Did they seem confused when you ignored them?
Kind of. Yeah. I mean, actually, I have no idea, Becca, because I wasn't thinking about them.
I was thinking about me. I was thinking about what kind of energy do I, of course, but like,
what kind of energy do I want around right now? Do I want to spend the 30 minutes before this
carpet opens fake nicing? Or do I want to go find my real friends and like from my friend,
Jesse from Canada that I only get to see on these big red carpet? Like, no, I, I like.
My favorite thing about you is like, like, for example, recently somebody pitched somebody to
be on our podcast and I don't know if it was like a PR person that did it and you were like no I
have beef with her and then like to then learn on the side what the beef is it's so funny because
it's like you have beef with so many people so many people but your beef with her it it was
it's legit and um I appreciate that you're but I I'm confused because in the pitch they mentioned
that you follow her on Instagram? Oh yeah. No, no, no. I have to keep your enemies close.
A hundred percent. There is, let me tell you something. There's a lot of people I follow
on Instagram. I'm not seeing your content. I follow you and you're muted. Goodbye. I don't
unfollow you. I mute you. And, um, yeah, no, I have a lot of enemies and I think I, I'm like a
secret I'm a secret traitor essentially I I don't have a lot of enemies but I am righteous in this
era and Becca welcome to your 40s because it's only gonna get worse like you're outwardly righteous
like you called out Hilary Duff's husband and now there's like a page six article about it from the
podcast not sure if you saw that no um and like you'll you'll like you'll be like you know what
this pisses me off this mother I try to like still keep like not say it out loud but I will do it
behind the scenes. Like the person that we're talking about, like they said something shitty
about my job and I went on a tangent and then I said nasty things on a DM and then I didn't care.
And then I, you know, I was like. The thing that's crazy is that you DM'd this person some nasty
things and they still want to come on the podcast. Or do you think the reps just don't know?
The reps don't know. Oh, so they went to her and they said, hey, do you want to be on Lady Gang?
She would be like, absolutely not. Yeah. She would be like, no, I don't think so. I mean,
I would love it.
I would love it.
Actually, no, I wouldn't.
I don't care.
I don't care.
I don't care.
What were you going to say?
You would love for her to come on and hash it out?
Maybe we should just have a new era of Lady Gang
where just people that hate me come on
and we discuss the beef.
No, don't give them a platform, Kelty.
But the thing is, is that like...
That's not very femme theory.
I know, but I really want to see that.
Like, I want to be a referee.
Yeah.
I just, I take my work very, as you guys know, very seriously. And.
So does Jack. She's yawning.
anyway okay that was the number one number two I um went on the red carpet and Eileen was like
we've been doing you as a drag queen for a very long time and I want you to do something for me
at the Golden Globes where I'm going to do a very natural makeup look we're going to do barely a
lash barely a contour barely a blush and just a red lip and I was like absolutely not and then I
I did it. I let her do it and I hated it the whole day. And I was like walking to the carpet. I was
like, I hate this whole look. This is bad. I do not feel like myself. And then I got the pictures
back and I was, everyone was like, you look so young. You look beautiful. You did look very
beautiful. When we come back, a special birthday surprise for Becca. Now back to the Lady Gang.
we are back and in a special birthday surprise for becca turn up your volume
we oh by the way i just googled page six i didn't know it existed
the article or what it is the article glee alum becca joven slams hillary duff's gross
husband oh no for involved in toxic mom group oh jesus you know they pick it up i can't believe
becca doesn't have a google alert on herself and i have a google alert on becca i mean i don't even
have one but i've i saw that article like oh god i can't even imagine what the um comments section
say because hillary has crazy fans but you were crazy fans yeah i mean i don't i don't care like
this is how i haven't even looked at like when i reposted on instagram i initially was like oh
this is going to probably be crazy in the comments. I haven't looked at it since. And I
clearly didn't look at this until you mentioned it. I'm so sorry. And that's the thing. It doesn't
exist if you don't look at it. So that's exactly how I feel. It still doesn't exist to me. I didn't
read it. It doesn't exist. Also, things go away so quickly where. I mean, nobody cares about the
mom group anymore. So it's over. Yeah. It's like we're the only ones still talking about it. Yeah,
that's true. Speaking of talking about it, we did something very special for your birthday,
Rebecca Tobin. And we went to the lady gang and we asked them to send you some birthday wishes
and talk about all of their favorite things about you. There were hours and hours and hours of
messages. I will send you the Dropbox with all of them so you can listen to them. I knew that you
probably wouldn't listen to them in a Dropbox, so I pulled some of my favorites and we're going to
play them. So I have to share my screen. Cute. Happy birthday. It's Zoe from Iowa. I'm the one
who cried during the mom talk at Lady World. Thanks for entertaining that soft fest. I'm
doing much better now. But most importantly, I wanted to say happy birthday and thank you for
everything that you do for Lady Gang. But also thank you for everything you do in the space of
motherhood, whether that's being an advocate, whether that's just being an ear to listen to,
being blunt and honest and transparent, but also kind and generous and loving is not a trait that
many people have, but you have it and you wear it well. And it's one of my favorite things about
you. And I can't wait to see how you continue on this path in this next year. And I can't wait to
see everything that you and Lady Gang accomplished together. So happy birthday again. And thanks for
everything that you do. We love you. Oh, sweet. Hi, my name is Haley. I'm from California. I've
been a Lady Game listener since 2016. And I just wanted to say happy 40th birthday to our girl
Becca. I think my favorite thing about Becca is how she is always so authentically herself
in everything she does, whether it's what she is talking about on the Lady Game, what she's
posting on Instagram stories, what she's allowing us to see of her life. Everything is very
authentically, Becca, even if it's not what's trendy or cool or popular. And I think what that's
taught me is that it's okay to go against the grain. And anyway, happy birthday, Becca. I hope
you feel the Lady Gang love and celebration all across the country. And I hope you have the best
day. Bye. Happy birthday, Becca. It's Sabrina from Australia. I want to wish you a very happy
40th birthday. I always believe it's a blessing to get older. So muzzle to you. Thank you for
being a big part of my week. But most importantly, thank you for sharing a little part of your world
with us. It's been such a joy to be a part of your life, to see the highs and lows, to see
your journey to motherhood and the birth of your beautiful boy, Ford. I want to thank you for the
tears. I want to thank you for the laughs. I want to thank you for the clapbacks. But most of all,
I want to thank you for being part of my lady gang. Love you. Mwah. That one made me cry.
i know sweet right oh that's so sweet okay i'm gonna pull it together
i feel like this is my funeral happy birthday becca my name is brit long time lady gang listener
i just want to say thank you for always being unapologetically yourself i think you are just
so funny and bright and clever. A fun memory I have is I was working the Savor and Sweat event
at Lady World and you came over and were talking to myself and my sister, Steph.
You were just so funny and cool and warm. And I really appreciate that about you. Anyway,
hope you have the best birthday. Happy 40th birthday, Becca. Thank you for being so relatable
and so unfiltered in your opinions.
And they're usually opinions that like we all feel as well,
but we're so scared to say out loud and you are not.
And you just say them and we all feel seen
by hearing someone else feel the same way.
So thank you for being you.
Happy 40-ish.
This is Chelle from East Texas.
And the first time I saw Becca
was when she came onto my screen
as her infamous character, Kitty Wilde.
I knew then that she's someone I could never really forget.
My favorite thing about her is just that she's unapologetically herself and she doesn't really
care if you don't vibe with her. She always sticks to her guns and that's something that's
so lost today. There's so many lovely things to like about her and I hope she has the most
amazing birthday. Happy birthday, Becca. Happy birthday, Becca, from another shorty.
I'm four foot if that makes you feel better but you are like my other short girlies so whenever
you talk about the issues of being short on the podcast I feel you you're so funny
true to yourself and you've taught me to you know sometimes not give up and also let go of
things that are not good for you you're amazing and I love listening in on a good week and bad
week throughout the week and listening to Lady Gang every week is one of my favorite routines.
Happy birthday, Becca. I have never met or liked someone more that was living the 40s
mantra of not giving an F while from their 20s. You are so inspiring with the way that you
literally don't care about anything or anyone and anyone's opinions. I think that we can all
take a feather out of your cap and learn a lesson from that. I am South African, but
living in Portugal. So I've been listening to you guys for 10 years and you're hitting
the tip of Africa. So be proud of what you have achieved and not achieved because we
are all so inspired by you.
Hey, Lady Gang. Happy 40th birthday, Becca. I have been a Becca since day one of listening
to the podcast. But I think what really reaffirmed that I was team Becca was one day you all were
talking about showering on the podcast and Becca had talked about the pure satisfaction of finding
a bunch of hair in your butt when you're cleaning your butt in the shower. And I just never related
to anything more. So just wanted to bring that story back up as one of my favorite moments and
things that Becca has candidly mentioned on the show. Love you all. Becca, I hope you have
the best day ever. I don't even remember saying that, but it's so true. It's one of the best
feelings ever. I hope you feel so loved. I hope you feel so loved. I mean, there was such a theme
with all of those. It was so cute. I know. So sweet. Thanks, Lady Gang. I can't wait to listen
to all of them, but that was really a nice little treat. It's just so crazy. You forget that there's
like, we're all over the world. It's really wild. I think that's also why I got so emotional. I was
like wow we've been like sharing our lives like in my mind it's just with the three of us but then
I think about it and I spent I think my 30th birthday on this podcast yeah so it's weird that
for a decade we've shared our lives and all of our stuff and pretty much all of it which is so
terrifying like I'm thinking of any secrets I've ever kept from the lady gang and I can't think of
any it's weird it's well it's so crazy because when I was looking through all those 2016 pictures
it was also the beginning of Lady Gang because we started in December of 2015. So it was like
our infancy and all of our like little photo shoots and the things that we were doing and
being in podcast one in our little studio. And it was so, it was so cute to look back on.
It's wild.
Nuts.
But I think it's also like a testament. Like I loved listening to these because there is such
a through line and it's like I don't know I just it's it's pretty cool when you lose yourself or
you're like what am I doing with my life and then like the brand is so clear you know what I mean
like every single person was like you let me be unapologetic you like unapologetic came up like a
hundred hundred times like you let me say the shit and I felt comfortable because you said the shit
so like that I wanted to say but I don't have enough balls to do it like I just love that and
I hope you feel like proud because you get a lot of shit for it too like we just talked about page
six like we'll pick it up but like that's what people love about you you know well especially
now especially in this year it was a lot different like 10 years ago but like everybody is so scared
to say anything that they actually think so I think the way that those girls were talking about
you is truly the most complimentary thing that anybody could say to actually be yourself in a
world that like nobody wants you to be you know well thank you it's really super nice
you're listening to the lady gang okay I we each prepared a little birthday wish for you
so I'll go first um no this is my toast to Becca on your 40th I you know obviously knew you in
New York and now have known you very well and I think that I am so thankful you're in my life not
only, you know, I can't wait to see what you do in your 40s. I feel like there's a little engine
in you that's revving right now. That's like, really hungry and inspired and creative. But
I would say like, you're one of the only people, you know, when someone makes a speech and it
becomes about them, this is so Kelty. But I want to thank you for being Becca, because you're one
of the only people in my entire life and in my entire world that doesn't tiptoe around life and
doesn't tiptoe around me. I think everyone's so scared of me that no one tells me the truth about
anything. Um, and I, when I look was thinking about like your thirties and what our friendship
has meant, I think I'm, I'm a terrible person, but I think I'm a better person because of the
ways that you've pushed me, um, to get into therapy to, you know, the way you've supported
me. I actually was recent giving someone advice on, um, their dog passing. And I found an old
text message that you sent me when Hobo passed and you were literally like, it was like nonstop.
You texted me for like two days straight, you know, and you were just like, oh my God, I really
understand grief. And like, here's what you need to do. And it's going to be, you know, like you
were so supportive and a lot of people don't see the soft sides of you. So my toast to you is I
want to celebrate the really hard parts of you because your hard parts have made me better.
But I want to celebrate the soft parts of you that you never show anyone because those are my
favorite parts too. And I love you. Happy 40th. Love you. Thank you. Yeah. I mean, of course,
Kelty's like, Jackie, you need to prepare this whole thing. And you know, I hate doing this.
And I said, that's why I gave you, I said, that's why I'm telling you before.
But I didn't want to prepare it because I'm like, I don't want anything to feel like too forced.
But I will say, I have always looked up to you so much. And it's so weird because you're only
a year older than me. But for some reason, you're so much wiser. You have had so much
more life experience. And I truly, for the past 10 years, I felt like I can come to you for literally
anything. And I really appreciate that side of you and the soft side of you, because not a lot
of people get to see it. And you're such a beautiful person inside and out. And I just feel
really honored to be able to experience that with you. And then also I was like thinking about it
and I'm like, we usually don't spend much time together unless it's the three of us, but the
small times that we have spent together just you and me sorry Kelty um what like when we
there's a few times in New York where we got to spend a night together just me and Becca and it
was really nice because we actually got to go out to dinner and like chat about things that
weren't work um but I feel like we bond in like such exponential ways when it's just me and you
and I truly feel like you're my soul sister and I'm so grateful to have met you because I would
have never met you in any other way if it wasn't for Lady Gang. And I appreciate your friendship
so much. And you're just such a beautiful person. And I love you. Thank you. We love you so much.
We love you. We love you. I know it's a it's a weird 40 is weird because it does feel like you're
at a funeral. But I think it's so important we we say these things now while you're here and we can
like celebrate you yeah we love you so much thank you i love you you had to get it out now you'd
probably cry at like some other point anyways so might as well just get him out crying all weekend
but yeah i'm not even pmsing which is really terrifying um no i actually heard something
recently too for all my other like capricorn sisters out there who are celebrating your
birthdays i didn't know this about us but i just learned this that capricorns are the only sign
that get younger as they get older.
So I think that's why I've always felt like an old lady,
like a little curmudgeon old lady.
I think that's like a Capricorn thing.
And then I am finding that moving into like this other decade,
I'm not going to change.
I think I am who I am, but I don't know.
I do feel like younger.
It's a weird, I think because there's like a freedom
that's coming with it.
And I think if for Capricorns to feel truly free
or to feel like joy and young is to feel free.
And so the freedom now of like kind of just getting to this point in life and being like, well, we've done what we could do, guys.
Like we did it.
We grinded.
We hustled.
We did the thing.
Like now we're allowed to have fun.
So it's it's so strange.
But that was nice to hear.
And I hope that that's what this next chapter, this like next half of my life is, is like I want to get younger as I get older.
Amen.
Amen.
We have a surprise for you.
Zach has it in a suitcase.
It's coming to your birthday,
but it has to be,
because we know when your real birthday is.
So you can report back on that.
And he's taking it to New York.
So you'll get it on your real birthday,
but we love you guys.
And we're so happy to celebrate you.
And sorry, it's two days late and we weren't here.
Nope.
We will see you next Tuesday when you're old.
