LadyGang - Canceled, Contoured & Crawling

Episode Date: August 5, 2025

In this absolutely unhinged episode, the girls go full throttle into the chaos. Keltie recounts her latest brush with cancellation (don’t worry, she’s fine… we think), Jac spirals over ...the possibility of planes randomly falling from the sky, Becca has beef with spiders, and somehow we end up talking facelifts, filler, and why everyone suddenly looks like a Bratz doll. It’s unfiltered, unhinged, and unmissable — just the way you like it. Come for the paranoia, stay for the pop culture panic attack.Check out our summer sponsors!!Hiya Health: Your kids need good vitamins! Get 50% off at HiyaHealth.com/ladyApretude: Prevent HIV! That's amazing. Say that again. The Lady Gang. Things are about to change around here. Each week, we catch up with Hollywood's hottest girl posse,
Starting point is 00:02:17 Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek. Hello, hello, hello. Welcome to the Lady Gang. I am Becca Tobin here with Jack Fanning for Healthy Night. And that is not on two times fast forward. Was that fast? So fast. Weird. I haven't even had coffee yet.
Starting point is 00:02:33 Like I had three sips. Do you guys ever go through an aversion to coffee? Yes. That's literally why I started drinking Celsius and then now I'm stuck. Well, I don't know what to do because I really need caffeine in the morning or I'm a zombie and I'm really hating the taste of coffee. so even like my drink at starbucks that is my like go-to i can't do it i know and i'm not pregnant because i just said this to my sister the other day and she's like you're probably pregnant i was
Starting point is 00:03:03 like no i'm not can't be got that id up in this bitch is that a pregnancy thing like yeah like when you suddenly like are aversions yeah yeah or like you were you were a meat eater and suddenly like you can't even look at me like stuff like that happens so um yeah it's just weird so maybe i'll do but matcha also grosses me out right now it's pretty gross i am in a non-almond milk vibe like i hate almond milk well the problem i can't have oat milk yeah i can't i'm not doing pistachio milk that's just too what are the other soy milk is like bad for women although i guess all milks are bad you know what's the best milk yeah unless you have a dairy situation well i'll poop my pants if i have but although god i wish not i mean you know i like soy when you just said
Starting point is 00:03:53 soy i know it's not it's supposed to be bad for like the hormones but like not for us it's a lot of estrogen but like we have not anymore so like it could help me i and i feel like the whole soy milk thing was like uh it was like an early this thing it's a conspiracy it was an early like conspiracy theory kind of a thing you know and like everything comes back around so maybe it actually is not as bad as we think it is i don't know because making me barf lately and it's so bad i don't i don't know if soy milk was necessarily conspiracy because my sister did get the blood clot on almond milk i mean on she was on the pill but then also drinking a soy latte every single morning and sitting at her desk for hours on end so it was like the perfect storm so i don't think
Starting point is 00:04:37 it assisted her and the pulmonary embolism but um well listen everything's bad i'm down to try who cares all right well i guess it's time for good week yes it is bad week oh no what do you who wants to kick it off i'll go first okay um for my good week i just really need to shout out one of my best friends Bryn Foley because she works at Revlon and she spearheaded the best collab that I have ever seen in my entire life and that was Revlon slash Guy Fieri I saw this so cool isn't it so good so she came up with the entire campaign like dreamed it up herself she did yes it was like completely her idea whoa and you know how hard it is when you work at like a big corporation to try to get something approved especially something like that where it's like
Starting point is 00:05:31 you know they're Revlon is like it's very outside the box you know he's literally Guy Fieri and um I'm just so proud of her because it's so amazing she got to go to his house and film all the promo and like hang out with him and he cooked everybody barbecue and she said he was like the nicest person in the entire world and I'm just like what a dream he's so great i actually met him at coachella one year because leah i was with leah and she's a humongous guy theory fan and we like ran up to him and said hello he had no idea who she was or me and we like of course he was like that's what makes him cool i know he was like not that anybody should know who i am but like i we we were like he goes you want to get a picture you guys want a picture
Starting point is 00:06:16 like we were fans and we were like yeah we want a picture duh yeah it was no i mean i've heard like nothing but the best things about him like he's very well respected in the whole food industry and like everybody says he's the nicest person ever so like what a dream i i remember when i didn't know what flavor town was and now i know yes yeah you thought it was a real place a real honestly not a bad idea brin get on it brin slash revlon slash guy fieri and an actual pop-up like mario kartland at universal that i can go to that's just all the flavors and then also some makeup like Brynn they really do need to add like a flavor town to Disneyland or something I wasn't insane being like is it somewhere you can go like I would flavor town sounds great
Starting point is 00:07:06 I know honestly he needs to get on that people would go even if it's like a like something small like in Texas like I don't know like a roadside attraction thank you oh I love it um okay so my bad week, it's like kind of bad, kind of good. Um, so last week, obviously I was talking about all of my, uh, gut stomach issues. I've gotten so many, um, someone DM to me about you. Yeah. Lots of, lots of DMS of people going through the same thing. And, you know, it's just lovely being a woman, but anyways, so I was talking about how I saw my surgeon and she basically gaslit me. right? So then I wrote my naturopath and I was like, Hey, you know, this is what's going on. My naturopath is the only doctor that I've ever been to that ever treats me seriously and ever
Starting point is 00:07:53 actually listens to anything that's going on. So I was like, Hey, I think that there might be like a scar tissue issue going on. I saw my surgeon, she gaslit me. I didn't say gaslit. You know what I mean? Dismissed me. And this is the message she wrote back. She goes, thank you for your message and your kind words. Cause I told her, I was like, you're the only person that takes me seriously. she said it's very reasonable to consider scar tissue or fascial restriction as a contributing factor pelvic pelvic floor therapy could be a great next step blah blah blah so anyways one doctor says that there's no way another doctor says this could very much be an issue so it's like the health care industry is so freaking insane to me it's like what do you do
Starting point is 00:08:33 what do you do let's not bash our medical doctors we have a lot of them that listen to the lady gang so no i'm not i'm just bashing my own personal experience because it was so we did say last time like her job as a doctor is to take out the fibroid the smoking gun but she said there's no way that that could have been an issue scar tissue yes oh yeah she said i mean i'm not i'm i'm you know i'm devil's advocate in the most annoying way but i do think because i do have a lot of doctor friends. And I think sometimes it is amazing to have these naturopaths, but also their job is to also like, they're investigative people and like a lot of upstream and like a lot of like non-traditional therapies where like, I think doctors in our country right now are very
Starting point is 00:09:23 much like underpaid and overworked. Keep her alive. And that's like the, that's it. And so listen, I, you need both. And it sucks for people who can only rely on medical doctors right now because of their financial situation. But I do, I, it sucks that she totally dismissed you. Like that really sucks. I wish at least there was like more empathy there, but I don't think they're even trained to be able to know what like fascia tightness is. I mean, I guess it's like, I just wish you could have been like here. Uh, maybe you should go see like a pelvic floor therapist and see what's going on. Or like, yeah, there's another doctor that could be like good for this instead of just being like, absolutely not. Cause if I was somebody that wasn't as much of an
Starting point is 00:10:06 advocate for myself, I would just be like, okay, I guess. Cause that's how I used to be. Especially like anytime any doctor told me anything, I'd be like, okay. And then just like totally disregard anything going on in my body. Um, that's all I wish just like a little bit of a, I get it. Maybe go see somebody else or there's a different doctor for this, but such as life, maybe no one's ever gone to say anything to her regarding this situation too like yeah that's true maybe nobody ever goes back to just as like i guess this is my life now yeah i mean surgery comes with well one of us in the lady gang has to be on a health journey you know what i mean like i mean i've taken the torch becca becca got her baby like yeah you know that's done i have no uterus
Starting point is 00:10:47 that's done like you're it's you're up someone has to be on it listen i've been in it it's only getting worse because we're getting older and things are breaking and nothing's going to be perfect anymore. So like lady gang, I mean, this could also be, this could also be just what happens when you have surgery and you're old. I know. I know. Well, it is what happens when you have surgery. It's like, I need no more. I need no more. No. You know, when you like saw Lisa Rinna do the like poise underwear pad thing and you're like, ah, that's never going to happen to me. I'm never going to like pee without knowing. And then when you get older and you start peeing without knowing i didn't even have a baby sometimes i stand up after sorry i know
Starting point is 00:11:28 this is like weird but you stand up after you finish peeing and you're done and you're ready to put your pants up and more pee comes out uncontrollably on the floor what what not that much no yeah dribbles on the floor i'll just get like you need pelvic floor therapy i know i'm doing the squeeze along on tiktok honestly i'll send it to you this lady squeeze along every day she does a squeeze along to like a fun song. Oh my God. And you squeeze for like 60 seconds and you do like the, like when it's like Kesha or whatever. And it's like, my love is your drug and you're squeezing, squeezing. Anyway. Okay. That's insane. Who's next? All right. Good week. I'm getting on the plane to Las Vegas and this woman, this trio of women who reminded me so much
Starting point is 00:12:14 of us were kikiing on the jetway waiting to get and like one of them's wearing a rhinestone cowboy hat i think they're a beyonce one of them's like wearing like last night's hair extensions still clipped in like just it's it's a disaster station and i love them so much and they're talking in their full voices not airplane getting on the airplane voices they're talking like they're like you know they can't hear because they went to beyonce or whatever and they're going through the list of everyone that they believe has had deep plane facelifts this summer so they're like they're like they're like yeah and hathaway and then they're like and lindsey lohan and they're like why do they look like that and they're all discussing it and then one of the friends turns
Starting point is 00:13:04 to her and she goes it's deep plane facelifts and she's like oh and then the other friend perks up and she goes no it's sobriety everyone is sober and then the other friend looks at her and she goes well i'm not doing that woman after my own heart and i turned around and i was like i'm so sorry i'm obsessed with you you guys need to show you're so funny and she's like well who's doing that and I was like also I think it's bullshit I think you have to be drinking a ton for it to affect your face I have gone many stretches without having alcohol I don't look any different no at all and then I'm like now I'm not and then if you're drinking that much if you're drinking that much to where it is affecting what your face looks like you may need to be sober but like what
Starting point is 00:13:57 it requires to look like shit i mean granted like a night out and then the next morning i do look like shit but like no sometimes it's better sometimes look better hungover because i think it's like you're dehydrated sometimes you need a little puff snatched no like i'm like oh yeah no the day after a bad hangover your the cheekbones are cheek boning oh my god yeah i mean anne hathaway did not stop drinking wine she had a scalpel to her face no judgment this is No judgment. Misinformation, that's big misinformation. If you think that you're going to stop drinking and look like Anne Hathaway's new face, I've got some news for you.
Starting point is 00:14:36 It ain't happening. You need some anesthesia. I have a question for you guys. Sorry, just an in-between here. Do you guys, are you upset about the paparazzi pictures of Devil Wears Prada 2? Are you pro-paparazzi? No, I like it. I don't want to see the photos.
Starting point is 00:14:52 I've seen enough now. You didn't want to see the outfits, right? I don't want to see Emily Blunt has this red hair in this one. I wanted that to be a surprise for me. I think that, yeah. Yeah, that would have been a nice surprise. But also it's going to be so long until we see the movie. We'll forget.
Starting point is 00:15:05 Yeah, and also there'll be inside scenes. So these are just the outside scenes. Yeah. Like I saw, I feel like I saw. The movie you don't see filmed as it's being filmed. Dialogue. I feel like I saw 800 outfits and looks of Blake Lively's on the streets of New York during It Ends With Us.
Starting point is 00:15:19 And then when I saw the movie. You're right, and I don't remember, but those were terrible outfits. And that only fueled everything. Yeah. yeah it did okay i have a bad i have a bad week by proxy okay my makeup artist liz was on the plane that fell out of the sky wait oh my god no there's a southwest plane on the way to las vegas last weekend they lost communication right no they just another plane was in the air coming at them the one of the two planes lost communication so they didn't know usually you're
Starting point is 00:15:52 being told hey you need to go however many feet below or whatever whatever like to veer away from that's who like keeps you from hitting planes in the sky is air traffic control or whatever but they lost communication and that's why they saw the plane coming and then they had to drop because i'm assuming she's alive still no if everyone's fine except the flight attendant who got a concussion oh my god because she was up um that's why you should always have your seat belt on even when you're sleeping everyone um so she said she was with her daughter and there they had just gotten up and then like started cruising you know the flight to vegas from la for anyone who hasn't taken is very short you literally go up for 15 minutes you
Starting point is 00:16:38 you fly for 10 minutes and they're like and now we're starting the descent like it doesn't it's you're not in the flying area for very long. So they're flying. And then she said it was like probably four or five seconds, but it felt like it was 30 minutes that it just literally dropped. And then it caught and then you kept going and then it dropped again. And so basically she was like, we're dying. We're falling out of the sky.
Starting point is 00:17:07 And because the pilot was dealing with like all of it, he didn't come on right away to tell them what it was. So they were just, and she said the guy next to him was crying. She was like staying strong. Cause her daughter was looking at her in crazy fear. Like they didn't know what's happening. Everyone was screaming. Um, she said it was absolutely terrible. And I was like, what did it feel like? And she's like, it felt like nothing you can explain because she's like, I don't even go on like tower of terror rides and stuff that would end after like three seconds, you know, like when you're on a ride, it went for a while so eventually the pilot came on and was like there was a military or there was a plane
Starting point is 00:17:48 and the problem is that like it was still five miles away or whatever but think of how fast planes go oh yeah it's like five miles like two seconds so they had to drop so anyway they got off anyway the pilot came on and explained that they were fine they landed in vegas they're fine the flight attendant oh the flight there was two flight attendants up they both got hurt one got hurt really badly and then they were going through the plane asking if there's any southwest employees that could help like could be the new flight attendants because those flight attendants couldn't help anyone anymore not that they were like doing like nuts and water or whatever but like just to help with like what was happening there wasn't and anyway so they got two hundred
Starting point is 00:18:34 dollars no it's like the people on the the poop cruise they got like a free cruise i was like wait at least they didn't get like free flights for a year because none of those people are going to get on a plane for a year no well the women yeah no they got back on on the way back they were like you know i would not i would be so terrified i would be so traumatized oh my god that's so scary one of the guys from the from the plane was quoted saying it was like feeling like the tower of terror like that kind of drop just which is no it's scary during the ride when you know it's okay and safe so that is so scary so scary hearing that story like or reading that article I was like why on earth are there not like 700 ways to communicate with air
Starting point is 00:19:25 traffic control like I don't understand I'm I'm such an idiot and I'm sure everybody there's a reason. And I like, but still I'm like, we should have like 25 engines on a plane. We should have 45 pilots. We should have like walkie talkies, all the things, satellite phones, like all the ways to get in touch with people. Like we should all be wearing parachutes too. Like I want ultimate, ultimate safety. And I, and sometimes I just feel like this feels weird. I'm, I won't even get on planes like i i know a couple people who fly private and i won't actually get on a private plane unless it's like a very specific situation scenario like unless it's like two engines two pilots and everyone's like you're insane you're crazy you would choose to fly commercial when
Starting point is 00:20:14 there's an option to go private i'm like yeah yeah everything we used to read about and still do is like, oh, doctor and family go down on their plane. Well, small planes are very dangerous. Yeah. Can I tell you some of my childhood trauma? Sure. Okay. Okay. Sorry, Becca. I know it's your turn. It's okay. Please. So my dad in, I can't remember what age I was. I was really young. Um, maybe I was a grade two or whatever. He like studied to get his pilot's license, Ken and his jorts. Um, and so he studied and then as part of that, you had to do like practice hours. And so, I mean, his pilot's license, not for commercial planes, like it was for like a little, it's called a Cessna. It's like a little, those little like the most dangerous ones. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:02 The most dangerous. Thank you so much. Or no, the citation. It's the same thing. Cessna makes the citation, but like the Cessna, like, I don't remember. It had four seats. Yeah. My dad always No, thanks. No, thanks. So he would go up and sometimes he would take me, which was nice of him. And I would sit in the back and he gave me the little earmuffs. And I couldn't – and I can't believe that you don't know this about me, but I used to be a very good girl as a child. And my parents would take me places and they were like, I'll take you, but you need to shut the fuck up.
Starting point is 00:21:39 So like my mom was in school and I used to go to school with her. And like, it was like, I remember being so careful about taking the cap off my pen because I didn't want it to make noise in my mom's class. You needed to be seen and not heard. Yes. And they were very strict with it. So getting to go with my dad was a big deal. So I put the air, like the big muffs on, headphones.
Starting point is 00:22:02 And he, I guess he was at the time was doing something called like, you have to do like an abort a landing practice. so what would happen is every time we would go in and we would think that like i was like oh we're gonna land now he we would almost land and then he would pull up you know what i mean yeah but nobody told me what was happening so just like seven times in a row i'm this little little child and i'm going in for the landing and we're aborting the landing and i was like does my dad not know how to land this plane it was terrifying but i was such a good girl that i like didn't say anything I just was terrified. This is literally like the late eighties, early nineties in a nutshell. Like
Starting point is 00:22:44 who allows a person to bring a child on their plane when they're learning to fly practice flight and doing practice flights. Like number one, number two. Oh, come on, Ken, do better, do better. And you're going to be like, Hey peanut. Cause he called me peanut. Hey peanut. Like we're going to do some practice landings. Nothing to worry about. Nope. I'm just sitting at that terrified. this is insane this is truly insane I understand your trauma yeah it makes sense I do too um wait have either of you guys seen the rehearsal the Nathan Fielder tv show no oh you told me to watch this I couldn't do it no did you try yeah I mean it's it's definitely you gotta it's something it's some it's specific but Kelty I mean you probably also wouldn't like it Kelty but it
Starting point is 00:23:35 would play into your your airplane trauma oh i'm good on that actually yeah after liz i was like liz thank god you didn't fall out of the sky because we're doing match looks like because we pre-taped some shows so i'm like uh obviously i have to like i need you to match my look you are such an idiot yep um okay so um my bad week is we've wrapped up all the summer travel right? It's been a wild time. I told you my roach story, right? Yeah. Okay. Well, we were recently at another house and of some friends, a very nice house, very nice house. This is the Tahoe. Well, I didn't want to say that because I didn't really want to like blow up my friends. But you talked about it last week. I said I was going. Yeah. Yeah. Oh,
Starting point is 00:24:25 oh, sorry. This is a bad story about the roaches in the house. Okay. No, no, no. The roaches were at the roach you can leave it in the roaches were at a different house and then okay so that was when the roach crawled across my hand it was devastating so then um i this was a weekend trip with just me and zach we left for with my parents i was so excited i was so sleep deprived i had been sleeping in a bed sharing a bed with ford for like five days at a lake and i do not sleep with my kid i've gone on so many soapboxes what tangents on why i don't it's the worst sleep of my life. And so I was like, so excited to spend, like it had been, I'd been up for like 22 hours for travel day, hanging out, dinner, blah, blah, blah. I'm like, and the house stunningly
Starting point is 00:25:11 gorgeous. And our room was beautiful. I was like, it's dark. I'm like, I cannot wait to sleep like 12 hours tonight. It was the greatest feeling when I got in that bed. I knock out. I literally do not wake up to pee i don't wake up until it's been like 10 hours of sleep it was a magical experience then i'm like i'm gonna take my time this morning and so i like sit up in bed and i'm grab my phone and just blah blah blah and then i see a spider crawl across the bedspread oh no and i'm like have you been here all night have you what have you what's your deal like why are you here i'm not that freaked out about spiders like i love spiders yeah they eat all the other bugs like yeah it's i'm happy to see a spider i like a spider ish yeah i don't want to sleep with them
Starting point is 00:25:55 in the bed so then i'm like okay whatever like you know maybe nobody's been in this room for a little bit blah blah blah so then the next morning i have a lovely sleep zach goes off to golf and i'm laying in my bed again with my coffee and i feel something like crawl across my back swipe it away and it it was like another spider but a different species or different whatever breed of spider was like more of like a little daddy long leg spiders then i love those i mean Whack it away. And then we had one more night to go. And I just thought, I don't think I can sleep knowing. You need a sleep sack. Yeah. And I was literally inventing things. It exists. I have one. No, I know the sleep sacks exist, but it doesn't save anything from crawling into your mouth or
Starting point is 00:26:39 hitting on your face. It's like the silk, like sleeping bag that when you go to gross hotels, you can literally just like get in the bed, but only be touching like your own little like. Oh, I have one for spray tans. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, that's actually so smart. Yeah. Wow. I need to get that. That's really smart too. So smart. Okay. So then, um, I was like, no, I need like a mosquito net. Like I need like something. So I'm, it's coming. Just stay tuned. I'm going to be, I'm going to be inventing a new thing. Um, so that was then the third night I didn't, I barely slept a wink because everything I felt, everything that I, like all the things I just was like itchy and blah blah and then the worst part is that about we got back and it was probably 24 hours
Starting point is 00:27:22 and i start noticing all these little like spots on my chest oh no and then a couple on my stomach and one spot or two teeth oh two because it was definitely a spider no the bed bugs are bed bugs are um don't you know like a gpt told me what it was bed bugs are like usually in like a line or a cluster i think a few little i've had them two little two teeth in a line oh see i thought two teeth i have to look back at what chat gpt told me because i put well i'm a real person who had bug bugs and i'm telling you but i swear i've heard my whole life it was spiders with two right and bed maybe and maybe both no i believe you about that no but i know it wasn't bed bugs because like the sequence of which hat like yeah you would have a bunch yeah it was more of like
Starting point is 00:28:09 random places on my body. Um, so the Spidey was sleeping with you in bed and eating me and eating me. So that's wonderful. Um, my good week is I was on one of my flights this week and I was on Delta of course. Cause like Delta forever. Um, and one of the flight attendants, her name was Liz. She listens to lady gang. She was so cute. She was like, hi, I don't want to bug you, but like I just saw you back here and you know she's like I just want to say your son is so cute like because we were flying with Ford and she was so sweet I was like do you want to come to lady gang or lady world she was like oh my god I guess I could because like flight attendants they all can fly for free yeah you should come and so I gave her a discount code so if you see me in the
Starting point is 00:28:56 wild you guys I am giving out a discount code but you have to find me like a scavenger hunt so that was fun. Yes. All of us. All of us. We can all give you. Starting point is 00:30:44 and it's not see I'm dead inside kind of yeah yeah like I have been through I was counting it up I've had three three shows canceled where I was on it and was like lost my job through it being canceled no four four shows canceled and one show fired so I'm like deep in my um journey you know? And I can remember when my first show Insider got canceled and I was like, just devastated. And then when like Superfan wasn't going to happen, I was like laying on the floor being like, but I wanted to be a star. Like, this is my moment. Like I just, it was like the world was ending. And they got on the Zoom with us to let us know that E! News television, I mean, I have news about it, but television was not going to continue.
Starting point is 00:31:38 i i i don't know what it was but i like i felt nothing you know it was coming yeah yeah did i yes definitely you've talked about literally joked a million times about like the viewership and like tv's how tv is dying yeah yeah yeah so you're right maybe i just was in my in my conscious subconscious like i was i mean i'm not surprised and this comes on the heels of Colbert being canceled and the talk I can't like, there's just like the cancellation. It's this is what's going to happen over the next two years is there's literally going to be nothing left on television except maybe morning shows and Hallmark movies for sure. Live TV is just nobody watches it live. Like, yeah. And it doesn't make sense. And, and so it's, I'm so sad because I
Starting point is 00:32:30 love these people. Like I love the crew. I do not think I've had one day where I've gone into E and I've been like, Oh, I wish I was somewhere else. Like there was times where like a lot was going on and I was like, Oh my God, I have so much to do. But like, I just loved that job. Like I, and I love it. Like I, I love the vibe of it. I love the set. I love the clothes. I love the glam. Like I have just, it's, it's been my favorite television show to work on. Um, cause it was just so well done like it was just such an iconic brand to be a part of the good news is is that i'm still the host of e-news and i'm going to be the host of e-news for a long time e-news is changing form it's going to exist in different ways you actually probably will see me more um red carpets
Starting point is 00:33:16 are not going anywhere eli from the red carpet institution still be able to watch that so is it just all digital like social media yeah i mean they're they're gonna make i i'm not allowed to like talk about it too much but like yeah they're gonna move everything that is e-news it's also gonna be on tv in just a new way like it just doesn't make sense like it doesn't make sense to do like these blocks of television anymore like nobody's like tuning into entertainment news for like an hour or 30 minutes a day you know just sit there and like get your news but like what if you know it comes on do you remember in like the early 2000s on mtv like kurt loder would like come on in between programs on mtv and be like here's the mtv news break like maybe it's something like
Starting point is 00:34:04 that like we just don't know you know there's like a lot of planning that has to go into it but there's i think there's a here's the thing that makes me excited i'm excited that i work somewhere where they looked and they were like hey here's what's coming let's be proactive we have 25 million you know followers on instagram we have 30 million followers on tick like we are huge digital brand like let's fix this let's make entertainment news like let's make e the best place to get entertainment news where people are instead of like other shows right now are just like they're like we need to cut budgets let's just cut our entire digital team and like just try to keep the show on the air. And I'm like this show on the air, like maybe a year, maybe
Starting point is 00:34:48 two years, like it's going to die. Like television people just don't watch TV, you know? Um, so I'm excited and I'm so sad and you know, I had this cute little gig and it was cute. And now I'm going to have to like probably work harder. I mean, I went in and it was like such an easy, like I went in for like six hours a day. It was like such a great, I know. What are your hours? television shows do not you do not get to work six hours a day on a tv show like you work 12 hours a day so this has just been really nice so um you know but i'm you just have to live at e-news and like pop on when something happens i don't i have no idea i'll just be waiting for someone to like die you'll probably just have an apartment an apartment no you should pitch that
Starting point is 00:35:32 you get yeah always in glam you should pitch that like you get to set something up in your own home oh that's a great idea actually yeah so then i have to do my own glam and i'm i'm just like so sad because how much time are they going to give you if somebody if ozzy osbourne dies and they're not give you an hour and a half in the beauty chair they're going to be like you got to get on but that's like the that's what's so good because all of like the tiktokers that are like the breaking news for all pop culture they're not in glam they're just like in minnesota and they're in their living room it's true you know nobody needs glam i know you do what can we keep one thing fancy though glam is over i know that's my thing is that like it was so
Starting point is 00:36:11 interesting you can wear it on the red carpet yeah right nobody cares if you have an eyelash when you're like breaking no it's true and i was thinking in my new era if i become breaking news girl like maybe i'll just have all the cool glasses and i'll just pop on and i'll be like the girl with the glasses because then i can a it's gonna help me in two ways number one i don't need a lash number two i could read the teleprompter yeah honestly kelty this might be the best thing for your star to rise because people will actually see you and if you are breaking news this shit will go viral and that's all you want you know yeah it's true to be seen by the peeps maybe you could go against our religion and get eyelash extensions too because that does make it
Starting point is 00:36:51 so that like you just need a lip and then you're ready to go i know it's true so many things just get your bob as a wig i know then it's like styled what if oh my god this is a reality show that i want to watch is like kelty like always having to be ready to be on like she's she's like i'm going to the doctor's office but i am bringing my mic my wig and my lipstick like and my light like it she's getting a pap smear and she's like wait a second hold on yeah honestly that might be my new life i have no idea and i'm kind of excited like i mean i'm so sad because the johns like i love my two bosses so much and they've been so amazing to me. Like when I had to have my hysterectomy, these two men, two men were so supportive of me. Like I've never been in a
Starting point is 00:37:41 workplace where, where they cared about you as a person ever, you know? Granted this is post 2020. So I think like most workplaces, if you say you have to get your uterus removed, they're pretty nice. They can't say no. I don't know. I don't know guys. I don't know. No, you're right. You're Right. I bet you a lot of places in America that is not happening. Yeah. And then it, and then the interesting aftermath, sorry, I know this about me, but everyone's talking about, it probably should have been an alleged or a good week, bad week, but continue. Yeah, I know. Well, people were talking about it in the Facebook group and I was like, you know what? I'm not going to say anything. Cause I just want to talk
Starting point is 00:38:15 to my people on the podcast. I think what was so interesting, you were saying things, you were, people were like, Kelsey, are you okay? And you responded hard week. Thanks for asking. and just like that was it yeah because i didn't want to say anything not like i'm okay it's like thanks i had a text from a friend saying uh-oh how is kelty doing and i said i think okay like it actually isn't all bad news she goes okay because i was worried about this post it was a happy birthday to selena gomez she goes you know somebody's in a really dark place when they post us for a celebrity's birthday that they're not friends with that was so bizarre i know i it was a weird thing so like everyone was posting happy birthdays to selena gomez
Starting point is 00:39:06 who you follow everyone i follow a lot of entertainment news people so everyone's like on a celebrity birthday my whole feed is just all my entertainment news people who don't know pictures with celebrities celebrity oh my god and when people die it's like how many people like dude jared oh my god when ozzy osbourne died jared texts me he's like all today has made me realize is i'm the only person in the world that didn't get a photo with ozzy osbourne i even looked for my photo with ozzy osbourne i couldn't find it i wanted to post mine you're listening to the lady gang um yeah the selena gomez post it was out of pocket i don't know why i did that i and it was from like 20 years ago no because it's so cute i made her like a craft i you know what tv show
Starting point is 00:39:59 or for a new segment right yeah i'll tell you like at her house like no i'll tell you what happened is because we were having i've been now in the cancellation wake of television of the show i'm having all these meetings right and i'm having all these like you have to show that you're famous no it's not that I'm famous I had a momentary lapse of like I appreciate that you think chicken shop date is the greatest journalistic video of all time but the gag is I've been gagging for 15 years is like and that's not what anybody would would pick up from that no I know it's just like a stretch it's a desperation i know desperation but i've been so good at not being desperate for so long like i do feel like i've really reigned in my thirstiness and it was just
Starting point is 00:40:54 a momentary lapse it was definitely like giving but you know texting ariana grande yeah but here's the thing kelty i think you're gonna i don't want you to stop being you but i want you to like do exactly what you just did where you're like hey guys people are doing gags but i've been doing it for 20 years like yeah and then put like a fun compilation of all the times you made crafts for celebrities like I like it when it's like less of a of a subtext and like more your charm is that you're not smooth about your intentions like it's like you being like hey guys my show got canceled so I need to look cool right now like look how great I am at my job like it's just yeah that's your brand like no you are so refreshingly honest okay you know like yeah
Starting point is 00:41:39 yeah no one do it then you can do it all the time and then it's part of your gig and then and then i know she dances the four hot ones there was crafting with kelty and then it's just yeah just lean in okay i'm gonna lean in um because otherwise people think you're having a mental breakdown yeah no i'm actually like you're fine well it's interesting so then i brit who is slita's publicist saw it this is where i'm coming back to this okay so you were like oh my God, you're going to be in just like a lip and a no makeup, no glam. And Brit wrote, we were texting and he was like, sorry about the show, whatever. And he was like, God there, you know, we were just discussing how there's no press left. He's, you know, and then this was what
Starting point is 00:42:23 was interesting. Two things happened when the announcement went out. One is I got more texts from publicists than I did from my friends. Like literally publicists were like, what are we going to do? What are we going to do? Because think about like the culture of Hollywood, people pay like $10,000 a month to have a publicist to get them press. There's nowhere to go. Like on a press day, it's like, where do you go? And then everyone was like, there's nowhere. Like what was cool about e-news is that like, you can get your client dressed up and they feel like they're having a press day and they're wearing, you know, they're wearing their cute outfits to come to eat. And they were like, all my publicist friends were like, everything is in sweatpants.
Starting point is 00:43:00 Like everything that gets clicks is in sweatpants. Yep. Yeah. Wild. It was the job. It was part of the job that 99% of people hated like performers. So, you know, they want to be in those sweatpants. Yeah. And the post, I don't know. I think now there's too many sweatpants. I don't think so. I don't think unless you're JLo, I think that people are like, I just spent six months shooting a movie in a makeup chair and getting attention and blah, blah blah like i'm i'm good to just like zoom in on you know some random podcast so yeah i think it's number two is um and i'm sure becca i mean you've been through this in your real life i mean we all pretend life no no let me i'm saying this wrong okay you know when something happens and
Starting point is 00:43:56 then people make it about them which is like my thing yeah i do so it's like ozzy osbourne dies And then everyone's like, oh my God, Ozzy, I met you one time. And like, meanwhile, Sharon is like, you know, it's like her husband of 50 years has died. Like, so the, the funny thing was like the most random people were making this cancellation about them. Like, like I, I'm not posting anything at this moment. Cause I don't know what to say. I was going to save it. I'm saving it for the podcast, but also like, I don't know what to say. but then people were like, I went to the e-news set one time and, and then they would like make a whole video about it. And I'm like, girl, you were there once or like, you know what I mean? I'm like, and I don't know. It was just so strange. Like, and then the amount of people that are like giving their hot take on like entertainment news is dead and like, no offense to Kelty, but, um, she's great. But like the show is terrible on dead. And I was just like, what like i'm right here like i can see you 30 people just lost their jobs like people
Starting point is 00:45:02 you know like i don't know it was very strange it's strange to be part of well also you probably haven't heard from your friends because you haven't posted anything about it like i would not have known like no i heard from my friends you guys wrote me like my best friends i have everyone that is my friends wrote me i'm just saying it was like more publicists publicists were like wait like this absolutely sucks because E was like such a place you know E's still gonna be that place E's always gonna be that bitch let's just be that yeah that um but I you know it's interesting like I'm just in a different place in my career I got asked to do something for E with the Emmys um and I turned it down to go to Alex Amber's wedding which is wild like
Starting point is 00:45:47 who am I I'm choosing to not go on the red carpet at the wedding or at the Emmys because I just like i was like no i want to go to this like my jody's gonna go like i met alex who worked at lady gang for years through my friend jody and we had made plans to go together as each other's dates and like i was just like you know what i'm good like i don't need to interview ninth person from adolescence this year like i you know what i don't want to go i also it's like that's the week before he's canceled like i don't want to have to go and like explain to everyone like i don't like I just wow I've really come a long way guys that's it yeah how do you yeah me too whoever who would think that I'm gonna turn down wearing a gown to go to someone I actually like
Starting point is 00:46:30 in my real life's wedding shocking that's growth that's yeah that is growth is it it is anyway I'm gonna be fine but I did get a lot of hate about firing Prince Derek like people were sending me messages and are you sure you got a lot of hate yeah saying what they they didn't like how on the podcast when I talked about it I was like yeah he's gonna be worried about paying his rent like yeah yeah I noticed that that that maybe didn't come out of my mouth the best but that's what happens when you lose a job you're worried you know what when when you said it in the moment I thought, do you think this is something we should like remove? And then I thought, no, that is the reality.
Starting point is 00:47:20 You're not going to like pussyfoot over the facts. Like I actually think it's kind of you to acknowledge that this is going to affect, but you can't keep someone employed because they're going to financially be affected. If it's a financially affecting you in a negative way, like it's, you gave a lot of time, you gave notice you gave i don't know exactly everything yeah so i mean i did actually think in that moment but then i was like no this is this is what actually it's reality it's reality i mean yeah and if you genuinely thought he was in a position where he couldn't pay his rent or something of that nature you would not put him in that position right right i think it was just
Starting point is 00:48:04 something that came off of your yeah so people were mad about i got many messages about it but sorry. Then when he got canceled, they were like, ah, it makes sense. I was like, yeah, everything happens for a reason. Yeah. I'm a magician. Anyway. Sorry. I talked about myself so much. This is classic. Classic. I did have things I wanted to talk about that are happening in the world, but we'll just wait till next time. Okay. Anyway, I hope people are enjoying these episodes.
