Starting point is 00:00:00 I can't believe this is happening, but I just packed my first bag for the Lady Secrets Tour. We have 15 dates starting in Chicago on September 13th, which is so soon. We just saw Nick Vile today. He's going to be our special guest in Chicago, and we also have more guests being announced, but Chicago, Philly, Boston, New York City, Columbus, Ohio, you are up first. We are so excited. Every single ticket comes with a signed copy of Lady Secrets. Please head over to ladygang.com slash tour.
Starting point is 00:00:29 please purchase your ticket as soon as possible it's going to help us figure out how many books to get and all of these things and we're just so honored and like really pumped to spend time with you we have such a great show planned i gotta be honest it's the best show we've ever done so we'll see you on tour the lady gang.com slash tour get your tickets now i know a few of the cities are really close to selling out so i don't want you to miss out and we'll see you there well what is this welcome to the lady gang that's amazing say that again the lady gang things are about to change around here each week we catch up with hollywood's hottest girl posse kelty knight becca tobin and jack vanik hello hello hello welcome to the lady gang i am becca tobin here
Starting point is 00:01:10 with jack vanik and kelty night good morning oh are we both putting on lip gloss i gotta get my lips ready for this recording oh goodness um i see we're slowly morphing into the same person kelty i see your glasses uh they have not gone unnoticed um thank you now in google's new aesthetic to achieve um the joke is that i've been wearing some glasses they're reminiscent recent-esque these are round well you also have some new readers that are kind of like sliding skimming into the territory uh jack do you want a reader tiebreaker the readers are definitely like yours but they didn't have any other styles i have other ugly readers um so what are these blue blue block blue these are just like good for when you're ugly and you want to cover your face
Starting point is 00:02:07 up and when you're staring at the computer like eight hours you know but i mean listen they're different style beccas are a little bit more jeffrey dahmer but like as a general aesthetic it is pretty similar same same yes it's okay i've just i mean it's been what two months since you've been wearing them so it's about time for me to copy and for you to move on to the next thing yeah as they're on the way out it's just it's you know it's it's hard you know trying i actively try to differentiate myself from the groups because i know that everybody thinks that we look the same and we're we are the same person so it's hard when somebody logs on as our guest and they see oh it's carbon copies how interesting how dynamic how boring so i'm just trying to give flavor where
Starting point is 00:02:51 there's very little to give okay well i have an idea keep talking i have a really good idea i might just start wearing a wig well becca this is you know you could differentiate yourself by cutting your hair which you refuse to do so now we all have here's the thing i am not willing to risk my attractiveness to no no she has a very black framed glass these are the other would you rather casey saw this you look like that old really really old fashionable lady that's like 100 years old oh yeah iris or whatever yeah yeah the problem is the ones that look good on me are the ones that look good on you because we have this we're the same and i'm beautiful fine it's fine you know you know what i'm not you know you don't have to worry about me wearing a glass
Starting point is 00:03:37 because i had to wear a glass for 33 years of my life so i'm like free from the with lasik i will never jump on that train yeah no well the issue yeah the real issue is that i'm loving my readers i it's like god let me see the words big in a way that i never have before and so i'm loving reading with them and now i hate going through life without the readers so i kind of want to go and get glasses that just magnify everything well that's not good for your eyes oh yeah no i don't think so i was once told because i was very into readers at one point in time and i was like why can't i just go through life with a reader on because it's like i'm reading and blah blah i don't think it's good for your eyes i think that it actually your eyes should be working still
Starting point is 00:04:22 to like see life i'm old well it is about time for the eyes to start 40s when it goes yeah yeah um anyways well uh it's a big episode so we got to dive in it's time for good week yes it is bad week oh no um who would like to go first i'll go okay so my good week is i'm going viral on tiktok again and it's because of jared all my best videos always in jared uh posted something like 12 hours ago it's got like 2.3 million views on it already and it's this like trend where it's the teenage dirtbag song you put you do a little video yourself then you go to your teenage dirtbag pictures now his i found pictures of the main when they started and the comments on this video it's like gasp my my jaw is on the ground are you kidding me because i said like
Starting point is 00:05:24 my fiance blah blah you would think that people just found out that i was dating like an a like chris hemsworth or something like that like the people are shocked that like little old me could possibly be dating the guitarist from the main that it's just like the biggest deal in the entire world oh wow yes i see this wait what it's very bizarre because of their recent radio smashes i know it's everybody thinking about like they how they loved the main in 2008 basically but i am getting i'm also getting some people to buy tickets to their shows people are like i forgot about them i just bought a ticket to their philadelphia show so like i'm doing god's work out here and then the last thing i'll say in my good week portion of this is i counted so far this has
Starting point is 00:06:13 only been 12 hours i've counted and there have been over 40 comments calling him either ron Weasley or Ed Sheeran and it's like no oh okay so yeah I could see it which now goes to my other viral video of him that went viral because I said he was a ginger Jesus and everybody got very mad at me because they said he wasn't ginger so I'm like now this is validating the fact that he is a ginger that everybody is calling him two of the most famous gingers yeah in the world choose your side tiktok is he a ginger is he not is he a ginger or is he not so i love it i feel like everybody's getting very uh emo and nostalgic with my videos so that's great my bad week portion of this as as there were many many comments you know being like ed sheeran ron weasley
Starting point is 00:07:05 there were also a few saying that he looked like amy schumer so and not just one there were multiple really yes tiktok is a terrible place and a not in a wonderful place i feel like i feel actually seen and happy because like so many people tell me i look like people that i don't think i look like like kathy hilton and i'm like at least like now we know the internet is off its rocker because that is not true about jared off now you know you hop in and you say you don't look like kathy hilton you're so young it's a weird one okay i don't know if i see that i do see steven tyler oh my god always that will forever be my my favorite celebrity doppelganger so that's my good week bad week congratulations i
Starting point is 00:07:56 watching jack on tiktok it's like it's i feel like a stage mom sometimes me too because i'm like what i'm excited for this chapter of your life you know it's the only place where i'm really getting attention these days well and i'm also like could you imagine what would happen to lady gang if jack worked as hard on lady gang as she works on her tiktok it's not meant to be that way though it isn't and the other thing that i find hilarious about jack is she doesn't want to do a flash mob at a live show but she will do like a like a rehearsed monologue to camera on tiktok which is a very i'm too embarrassed to do that as an actor it's a very different world but i she's really i don't know what that is but it's something i can tell you what is it well number
Starting point is 00:08:49 one one is in public and one is in private so i'm in the comfort of going out to the public but i can control exactly what it is also with tiktok you talk in little spurts so i don't have it's not a rehearsed monologue i'm just saying like five words at a time and i can put it together and put it out into the universe the way that i like it's the same reason why i liked writing the book because i can control exactly what i'm doing rather than like being thrust publicly and having people judge me while i'm there yes kind of but there are tiktoks where you know that there were many takes you know when it's like a a little me me type phrase and a facial expression i'm like this is very funny to me i'm like wondering if she's practicing in the mirror and it's just such
Starting point is 00:09:36 a confusing facet to your personality that i thoroughly thoroughly enjoy yeah um and i want you to keep going and keep shoot reaching for the stars jack i'm reaching for the stars i just really need Jared's help. Cause it seems like nobody cares about me. It's really just Jared. So that's my new angle story of our lives. Yeah. Um, wow. Mazel tov. Do you have a bad week or was it the Amy Schumer? That was the Amy Schumer. Okay. Kelty, would you like to go? And not to say that's a bad, uh, comparison. It's just very random and not what would exactly come to my mind when I look at my, my bearded fiance. Yeah, I understand that. I get it. Okay. My bad week. I was recently with a friend and I overlooked to her phone and she had 147,000 unread emails.
Starting point is 00:10:32 What? 147,000 emails. And I was like, I'm sorry. And I had to really investigate. And I was like, what do you mean and i was like why don't you just spend one day going through them and deleting them and like what are they what if they're important things whatever and then she was like no no a lot of them are like just you know the newsletters i'm a part of for shopping and whatever and then i was like you don't have a separate email address for that and she was like no and i was like everyone does do you guys yes for shopping yeah i have like my junk email that i sign up for any like thing that i order or any mailing list yeah it goes into my junk yeah that would be so you'd miss no emails i have all one all one and how many unread emails do you have right now
Starting point is 00:11:26 zero i i love you as soon as i buy something and then i get their annoying fucking i'm like listen and other stories i liked the dress i don't like you i mean i do like them you know what i mean but i don't want to be their friend i just want their dress so the moment i order something and then and then the pesky little email comes in oh dresses for transitions to fall from and other stories i'm like unsubscribe buying something from your establishment was not an invitation to become my friend so that's how i handle it the moment i see them turning around I gave them the little, I give them an inch. They take a mile. So I'm just shocked. They use the same email. That is like a stressful thing. That's Becca though. She's not like really like
Starting point is 00:12:10 how many times have we been like, let's ask her manager how to get into her. Yeah. I don't know how to get into anything. I don't know how to do any, I don't know how to do anything, nor do I want to know. And I also, I, I'm a something with passwords. If I have to do another password, set up another password like i will get a flip phone and sign off of the world wide web forever so okay okay i have a good week obviously it's the segment um i have a new saying and jack i would like to you to put on a shirt no is this why you tonight we're like working on our tour merch and it's like you denied a few of my ideas i did not deny your idea i i smart business woman and said another idea of yours that was great never actually got on the store wait what was it
Starting point is 00:12:56 we'll talk about this later okay anyway um okay sad bitches are still bad bitches i love it this was actually something i saw on a bumper sticker in london um i was at a car show with my with my fam over there and the bumper sticker world in like a car show is so intense it's very sexual it's a lot of like i ride hard like really weird shit and then all of a sudden i come across this like little one and it just is like that black writing with like the holographic outside and it just says says bitches are still bad bitches and i was like this is the thing that's it my new logo you know that actually could be an elder emo shirt but i'll take it for lady gang and we'll we can do like i think that that is but i do like that it was in like the
Starting point is 00:13:48 y2k kind of like hologram oh i miss those it was like lisa frank it was very like weird anyway okay i love it that bitches are still bad bitches okay well my bad week is gonna be controversial and i'm gonna get some feedback but but i don't care because i need to say something i've been flying a lot and i have noticed so many many many many many people in flip-flops nope so many women are flying on airplanes in bike shorts and i can't understand first of all a bike short is simply a legging but with your legs aired out so if you're seeking comfort a legging is fine do i fly in leggings i don't um but if you want to because you want to be comfortable if that's your version of comfort live your life put a bike short two things about it
Starting point is 00:14:53 okay number one i cannot imagine the feeling of my bare hamstring flesh on a southwest cracked seat that has been sat upon by eight million other people and you know they are not cleaning like they were in COVID times anymore. No, I, I've never once in my life flown without my entire body covered because it's so cold on airplanes and the airport. Yes. I need to be fully covered. So there's that. And then there's also what I've been guilty of 8 million times, but I feel like time and place so many labial outlines yes and there's so many gross humans in airports that i just feel like don't let that man see that i feel free whatever you want to do but i think some people are naive to the fact that this outline is showing because they get dressed at three o'clock
Starting point is 00:15:55 in the morning because they have to get in their uber by four and they're at the airport they don't even see the light of day before they get on into the airport with the neon lights and maybe they don't know that i can see every outline of their labia and i just feel like one once a once over to make sure that the sweaty man you know sitting at the lounge isn't staring directly into your crotchal area if you don't want that i'll tell you this becca as someone who does have a large vagina and i'll tell you where this gets off track okay is that when you get dressed um your vagina's in place it's where it's to be it's tucked up in the legging and as you go through your day the vagina eats it more and more so i want to just in defense of the ladies when oh i'm not
Starting point is 00:16:44 blaming i'm just no no i know you're not blaming but like calling attention big vaginas you you really need to understand that the legging will be eaten by your labia and you must have a tank t-shirt sweater that is past the labial length. If you're not into having that show, listen, if you love it and you want to show it, I am happy for you to do that. Um, but yeah, mind your labias, you know, because you, you might not realize this is happening to you because you're so used to feeling uncomfortable down there because your labia eats everything. You may not realize how much it's being eaten. And then you'd see a picture of yourself and you'd be shocked so like just mind your labias is i think what we need to say kelsey have you
Starting point is 00:17:30 discovered a um underwear brand for wide vaginas or do you need to make that yourself like is this like a business venture for you shit well i don't wear a lot of underwear for that reason it's very uncomfortable it's like a g-string in the front that's what i'm saying like maybe this is something that you need to this is the new project that you need to work on this is what happened to me too is that when they're when they start out you get dressed and the gusset's fine and you're like okay these are fine underwear and then you're four hours into your day and it's literally like a little rope rubbing up and down on your vagina yeah we need to think of a play on words something with the word gusset in it for your brand you know for gusset fat gusset no that doesn't it
Starting point is 00:18:17 doesn't roll off the tongue. Let's not discuss it now. Just kidding. Okay. My good week is very simple. There are very few times, as you guys know, that I really give a shit who's on this podcast and who's coming to talk to us. But today I do. I do care a whole lot. And it's the best part of my week. We're so excited. Becca really wanted to read this ad, but because she has a new baby, I'm like, I've got you. I've got you. And I'm very excited about my personal story to tell you about Vegamour. So it's a holistic approach to hair health and it uses smart botanicals that provoke visibly thicker, fuller hair. And the products are
Starting point is 00:19:03 cruelty-free and never contain parabens or hormones. We have been on a huge getting rid of all the bad stuff in your beauty cabinet kick here at Lady Gang. I literally went through my beauty closet. And I was like, Oh no, this is like a great shampoo. That probably means it has stuff in it. That's not good for me. And I was so happy that when I looked up this brand, it was a clean cruelty-free brand with Vegamore. And I truly believe I'm a better person because I went to therapy. And honestly, my trauma is not that big. I didn't have a big, horrible thing happen to me that I needed. Oh, I need to go get therapy. I just wanted some tools and someone to talk to every week and just unload my life in a place that was just for me. And it wasn't putting it on someone else, a friend or a family member. It's just for me. The benefits

And I'm like, okay, I got to take this. I got to take this hair oil. I got to take this face oil. I got to take this, this. And then I'm like, well, what vitamins am I taking? Am I taking the whole kabang? And you know, the only one that made it, my Nutrafol. It's the most
Starting point is 00:21:11 important. It's for my hair. I mean, all I care about is having my luscious, amazing hair. 30 million women are impacted by weakening or thinning hair. And Nutrafol is a solution you are looking for. It is the number one dermatologist recommended hair growth supplement. 86% of women reported improved hair growth after six months. And here's the thing I get asked all the time. Does it really work? Does it really work? It really works. You got to take it.
Starting point is 00:21:32 It is worth the money, but you got to take it like six months, a year. I started noticing like a whole new head of hair at a year and a half. I mean, it's a long game, but it's really good. Starting point is 00:22:23 labor day event hurry into your local sleep number store today because we have your number now back to the lady gang a few years ago a long time ago we tried to convince our guests bff june diane rafael to leave ray feel ray feel sorry and i know it never gets all right um to become our best friend forever and we failed and so today we are auditioning to make the cutest friendship in hollywood a quintet with us we love the housewives and we love our guest love of the housewives and her ever so popular podcast bitch sesh she's a teen choice award nominee like our dear becca and a twice critic choice award nominated actress and her character penny on happy endings was an icon justice for happy endings her book the wreckage of my presence
Starting point is 00:23:14 made us laugh uncontrollably weep becca and i have not stopped talking about it i just heard from becca this morning that she has a separate notes category in her phone of quotes that she stuck from the book she's the who's who of who's that and we are the who's who of who's available and we can't wait to chat please welcome to lady gig casey rose wilson hi welcome kindest intro i've ever been given i'm so happy to be here hi all first of all thanks for having me all your acting credits? Like, I know you did miss a bunch, but some very important. So many, so many, obviously everyone is into the shrink next door, which is your latest project, but you know, it's too much. And now that we're multi hyphenates, I wanted to ask you because Becca
Starting point is 00:24:00 often feels this way. Do you ever feel like you work so hard at your craft? You're an actor. You went through the auditions, the TV shows, the, the red carpets, the press days, whatever. And then people are like and home goods i love your podcast and you're like of course of course i feel like because we've been doing our pockets for a while it it's it's it's just come into kind of this year where you're like this is a job this is something so sometimes i'm i'm always like sometimes at starbucks people like recognize my voice and i'm like you haven't seen this body on camera and they're like no ma'am we haven't but um yes but i'm i love podcasting and it's such an like fun way to get to know people, you know, even though I don't know. So I'm, I'm grateful
Starting point is 00:24:43 for podcasting and I listened to them obsessively, including yours. So I'm loving, I'm loving it. Well, I just think what you guys do with the, with the housewives, it's dissertations every single week. And every time I think you can't come up with a better explanation of someone's character or a motivation behind a choice that they make. Like I love it. And I love that you don't hold back about who you hate it's really refreshing because also lisa renna is awful this season look and am i scared of her yes we do i you know we try not we try not to fly too close to the sun we don't actually interview the housewives which other podcasts do i think that's where you get into trouble because human nature dictates you don't want to be me you know we like
Starting point is 00:25:30 to talk about people behind their backs which i think is as god intended and we ask people not to tag them and it does leave us feeling probably more free than we should feel yeah you know we try not to talk about the kids and that rule gets broken unfortunately have you ever had a housewife reach out to you i'm not a housewife fan so i am like no you're a woman of dignity i can tell i am a well no i'm not love i'm a bachelor love island yeah you're on the other side of the aisle but we reach hands across the aisle we do um have you ever had like a housewife reach out to you being like what the are you talking about yes i have i have um we got a cease and desist letter from um teddy cougar melon camp once um which is just slightly comical if you know it was like
Starting point is 00:26:16 really because some of the biggest ones will say horrible things and i don't i genuinely i don't say this to be mean at all and i i am a woman and i support women i don't know if housewives know how to access podcasts i mean that with every bit of the most genuine nature in me i don't think they can read or or they can read i just don't think they're like picking up a book or trying to find a podcast no so i think we kind of fly under the radar for most of them but teddy she found out how to listen to it wow i like we sent her flowers and she backed right on down good that's all it's love yeah i have a question for you i want to go back to lisa for a second um and this is not all housewives chat we have so much to chat about but i actually picked up beverly
Starting point is 00:26:56 hills way late in the game i only picked it up like three seasons ago and i had tweeted that i love lisa and i think she's such a shit store and so funny and then twitter came for me and they're like she's a horrible human being so can you just like school me a little bit on the lisa because i think she's fun like i appreciate i don't know i just like i love her makeup i love her hair i like i just like her am i a bad person i am a psycho no you're not i think you just kind of you know she's definitely and I think she is fun and I think she is all of that but I think she's got like a bit of more of like a producer hat on so she's not coming from as authentic of a place that we like our we like our women if they're going to be monstrous for it to come
Starting point is 00:27:38 genuinely to them you know and be really true to them who they are as a horror and I think with her she's got kind of like a producer hat on but then we're not quite sure so the intentions are like very muddied and I think maybe we're like a little bit yeah there's so much to say I'm genuinely scared of some of them i'll tell you that much um i think she's she she's got her soap opera in her still there's like a tear coming down slowly falling which you both love but then i want her to kind of tighten up that stylist regimen you know there's just a lot going on there that i feel i'm conflicted to say you know what you have i think your podcast is listened to by by more so I might have to speak more freely on bitch sesh which goes under the radar someone was recently
Starting point is 00:28:25 on your podcast and they mentioned her hairdo Lisa Rinna's hairdo at Sutton's brunch and they said something about like faster than lightning the speed of light her hair was like the hedgehog yes Sarah Sherman from SNL was like it literally has been blown back by like the speed of the universe has just blown it back yes I think she's like one tick off sometimes and I'm a million ticks off with my looks so I can relate if anything but I feel like she was like wait a minute I'm looking around and I'm seeing Doritas and fashion and all this and I'm gonna do it but it's kind of like when I try to do a paint by number it's like it'll be a little off it's 100% and you hate how Kyle dresses which until you pointed this out I couldn't place why
Starting point is 00:29:06 she never looked good to me because I think she's a beautiful woman of course she's gorgeous yeah she's beautiful but then when you pointed out that she's also just a tick off on her choices i now cannot i can't not see it wait how well it's like giselle bryan on potomac these are some of the most gorgeous women that we have on this big old rock called earth and if anything keeps them relatable you're like what is that you've got on and what is that you're throwing together and if you're like okay the stars just are they are just like me in a way and i think it kind of keeps them humble and it keeps them down to earth because she'll throw some things on as a woman with two clothing companies that have indecipherable names and connections to them that are tough to kind of
Starting point is 00:29:48 make heads or tails of that's all i'll say you know what it is she's a she's a me in the way that i feel like and and she's way too rich but like you know you get when you're a well she's a real celebrity but when you're a zed list celebrity you get sent like the shitty things from the pr companies and i always get it and i'm like oh well it must be cool if the pr and then i throw it on with a black slack like i feel like kyle's always just like throwing on some sort of like over shirt where you're like you know you did not buy that someone sent that to you and you're doing a favor right and it's like for me that's one thing like i assume people are like you didn't buy that and i and and i wear that with proud with pride but for you know this woman has like has you know money
Starting point is 00:30:30 real money i i yeah and i think there's i just get the sense because she has so many dogs there's just so much dog hair on the clothes and those are just feelings more those are just some kind of impressions yeah off of her i think i see the dog roller the lint roller by the door and i just want to start fresh there's like a smell to that i'm sure yeah it's not all what my eyes are seeing we have to use all of our senses when we kind of deconstruct um german shepherds again i would never do this about just women and in the day-to-day i need everybody to really know that and also know that i have such a love for the housewives a true deep unabiding love for them so i want to segue to i always uh i like to go deep when i'm like erica jane's clothes
Starting point is 00:31:11 i'm kidding i like to um no i like to go deep when we're preparing for these interviews and so i i really want to get to the important thing about you which is your wikipedia page casey have you been on it lately no what's happening over there in that little neck of the woods describe this to everyone Casey has had I'm sure my father is plugging in entries fantastic career in Hollywood I mean movies television um like it is a big hearty meaty panera broccoli and cheese soup of a wikipedia page like there's a lot to sort through you get down to the words the bottom on the bottom right I know Jack's looking it up there's a there's like photos of you and your husband and then there's just a picture of you and it's just like you at a party
Starting point is 00:31:59 like camera and it's like new year's 2008 guys black and white it's kind of like it's there's a flash and it's sort of blurry like that is definitely a self-upload it is okay i swear on my late mother's life i did not upload this to wiki and but here's the crazier part because i'm going to be completely honest but i don't think someone else even took it like i do think that came from like the calls coming from inside the house because that's like from you know like my best friend took that that's got to be like your brother like that's like a family photo like a terrible family photo that's not getting out there and yet i have no no idea how it came into my canon some of my my photos i know exactly
Starting point is 00:32:45 what you're talking about it's i wish i knew how to put things on wiki refreshing i don't was like because you know it's always getty images and like here she is at the premiere of gone girl we can't find anything on getty ever so it's like you gotta fill it with something it's quite refreshing it's such a great way to to spin it thank you stars they're just like it's why every single woman in america loves you yeah you know what i mean it's like it's your brand get on there though and i can sense you guys aren't believing me you're thinking that i put it on there but it's something and i don't see you being like it's i don't even think i was acting at that point no like i wait don't it says when you click on the photo it says originally posted to flicker
Starting point is 00:33:29 as c wilson oh they took it from your flicker what's flicker it's like a photo bucket it's where people would like upload photos back in the day oh okay but what you would upload them for like oh is that like where you make like a little holiday book it's like before pictures could live on the internet you had to like upload them to a photo hosting website and it is your personal i'm sure it is but when i tell you guys i was not entering this onto into the wikipedia world it's someone went deep someone loves you wait it was by cork draw that was the username so jack has a true crime podcast is this like now i'm gonna find out how you die jack please find out i'm gonna i'm gonna dig into this we're gonna see whose picture this was

Starting point is 00:37:33 you're listening to the lady gang okay so podcast bitch sesh is is major major major um i know you guys are doing a live show right after becca leaves town i'm devastated so we're bummed but are you are you gonna tour more are you too busy in hollywood like what would you like that kind of thing we do like touring but you know what we've been doing a lot of is live shows which sounds kind of odd but like live from home and everyone was like oh during the pandemic you know once it's kind of you know people are getting back out there they're just gonna want to go to live shows in their town and go back to touring and we were like i don't think our audience wants to leave their home if i'm putting a guess on it we got a lot of gals a lot of moms
Starting point is 00:38:17 a lot of gay gentlemen that want to just be home in a sweat pant with a pill or a glass of wine and watching our shows from bed on a computer where you can like write into the chat and i think we were right about that so we we have not returned to the theater although we did some shows in new york uh last year but so we do about four shows a year and we just get guests and they're just the most ridiculous messy garbage they're so good shows of all time from home casey's co-host danielle is a is a drew barrymore super fan and the last live show that they did um drew surprised danielle yeah on the zoom and danielle was very tipsy so it was the most beautiful reaction i've ever seen of anyone anywhere yeah she was crying it was so oh my god it was so sweet because we
Starting point is 00:39:11 well just quit very quickly tell it i had gone to new york and done drew barrymore show and when i came back we started our podcast with an intro you know like chit chat how you're doing and i said to danielle you know i did true and i said in the whole time we talked about you and danielle starts crying she bursts into tears and i'm like alarmed and she's like oh my god i'm sorry i had no idea like jubilee more even knew me and the fact that you guys talked about me is just like a really hard time i'm going through right now and i am horrified to realize i didn't make myself clear we were talking about the netflix show you fortunate no not you no no no it's so upsetting and i the train had gone so far out of the station before i could like wrap my head around what had
Starting point is 00:39:55 happened and now she's really crying and she's like you know you have these weeks and you don't see any light and i'm like and i said danielle i'm so i mean there's just no hard easy way to break it to a different and i said i i'm gonna just no way out but through we were talking you know about a show you and we laughed so hard and then drew heard about this and listened to the clip and was so generous and so we surprised danielle so that she could really kind of have a moment and it was actually very beautiful and moving because it all worked out in the end it really did drew and i was saying it was like actually like just one of the moments in life that's yes it's like a full circle in a great positive beautiful way but it was quite funny
Starting point is 00:40:37 so good all right i want to talk about the book i know it's out it just came out in paperback so we're still promoting we're still promoting always abp always be promoting guys um oh my god kelty need to take that over okay as if you need to write that down i don't right here casey we have the penis chart for book sales that i update our fans on uh every week it's always promoting well that's so good to have someone you know in your world like that right yeah it's not someone so you know well she is the only one with a headset yeah exactly she's landing the plane literally no by the way i'm so inspired to see this kind of helicopter pilot look that you're doing with the headset i need this but you can see my mouth like i can't you know you have the
Starting point is 00:41:31 pop filter becca's holding hers up so you don't even know what level you're getting at any point she doesn't even give a about the sound quality no and i have to do my fidget spinner while we're talking okay this is a wild wow you're absolutely right i'm not caring about the sound enough and I appreciate you I really do you're teaching me so the book yes I feel like celebrity memoirs can go two ways it's either like what the did I just waste my time on or your book which transcends you as a human being and it is I mean obviously it's your stories and it's so much but like it's it's like an Oprah moment like it's like a aha like I dare I say girl bible like I don't know how to describe it but it's like you read it and you're you're so touched by your stories and
Starting point is 00:42:26 your openness and you're laughing and you're crying and I just like Becca we keep going back to it again and again because it gives us like comfort it feels like a warm hug of like getting through life um so generous of you to say and kind and I'm so happy to hear that thank you yeah were you terrified to put it out because then people judge you I was I absolutely was I've been a writer you know I've written with June my friend um like in the movie world and kind of tv but I'd never written anything like on this scale where it's a alone and I like to collaborate and always have other people to blame and fall back on and like Danielle but I yeah I was really terrified because i was putting out you know obviously i wanted it to be funny first
Starting point is 00:43:08 and foremost if people are spending their time on this it's our time is precious so i was like let's laugh and have fun but i do want to say something a bit i don't know if deep's the right word not to be annoying but and then i was also telling a lot about my family and our story and my mom had passed away and it's about grief and motherhood and i was yeah i was very scared for the reaction but at the same time i felt i i haven't had this experience many times but i was like this is actually the story I want to tell and I want to put it out there and I I'm great with it I'm at peace with it kind of and so if other people don't love it I'm actually okay with that and so I've never normally I'm like ah I want people like me but I I felt like this is a story I
Starting point is 00:43:47 want to tell so thank you for saying that that said means a lot to me thank you it's so good I did the audiobook and I the whole time I was like damn it I just want to highlight like a book I I mean, I bought the book book too, after I heard the audio book highlight, it was so, there were so many moments. I was out walking my dogs one day and your chapter just about your, your body and the role that it plays in your life and the industry and you as a woman. And I have never heard someone cause you either see two sides of it. It's either, I don't give a, no one should care how I look.
Starting point is 00:44:25 this is, you know, this is who I am. Accept me for who I am. Or there's the other side where it's like your old boss, you're never going to get ahead unless you lose some weight. So it's like this crazy thing as a woman in general in the world, but then only more so in entertainment, like you're reckoning with that and who you are and the way you feel about your body was just so fucking liberating to hear. And I just, I was sobbing outside, walking my dog's neighbors passing. And I don't know. I just thank you so much because it's been a hard thing to figure out just in general. It absolutely is. I so agree with you because I am kind of in the middle. I wish I had grown up more in the body positive generation. I did not. And so I've kind of,
Starting point is 00:45:11 but I grew up with a feminist mother. So I luckily didn't even know. Honestly, I never said to my brain, like you you're overweight or whatever. Tell us a junior in high school, which I think is a long time to get in your life without kind of taking in diet culture. But then at the same time, I am kind of have like a attitude and I love to just overdo it. But then I also am like part sugar addict. There's just everyone has their own kind of stew of circumstances, I think, surrounding their body and their past and, and everything. And it's fascinates me. And then I am an actress. And so, yeah, I think it's just something that everyone wrestles with. And some days you're in a better place with it than others and i hope new generations wrestle with it much
Starting point is 00:45:53 less that would be my sincere hope but i think that ship sailed for me no shit how is your sugar addict life going how's it going you know guys it's a journey um i have just it's a journey i i really i say it in a joking way but it's really also not a joke at all you know and i've dabbled in like a 12-step program for it. I've done every kind of nutritionist program. I've read every kind of book. I haven't had any candy in like three years, three or four years, only because I couldn't. I was just eating an amount of it that's truly shocking. And it really was just making me feel so bad and angry. And I'm Italian. I already have anger as a kind of baseline. And so I just thought, and a Scorpio, I don't need that. I can't add that. So it's going well, but it's a process.
Starting point is 00:46:43 you know, I think sugar is, I don't know. I actually just got recently diagnosed as an adult. You're not getting too many diagnoses as an adult, let me tell you, with ADHD. And it's been so illuminating because a big piece of it is sugar addiction and kind of like binge eating because your dopamine levels are low and you're trying to pop them up kind of unknowingly. So I just love to have new things to blame it on is really the... Totally. It's nice. It's so nice. Someone's like, you have something and you're like oh thank god it's not just me it's not exactly me but now it has a name yeah thank you it has a medical condition yes thank you yeah i always say earlier this year i was like what would my memoir be called and i was like chasing dopamine like i
Starting point is 00:47:26 literally am just like facing it at all points like from the speakers from a diet coke from like putting a photo a thirsty photo on instagram like make someone make me feel good because i can't do it from the self. Little hits along the way. I love that title, by the way. And I think that's a lot of us. Yeah, I love that. So I want to read a quote from the book that I think will kick off a conversation because this is my favorite thing that I highlighted for the book. And it's about your anger and the pause. The way you talk about pausing in your life is just so amazing. And for people who haven't read the book, this will give you kind of an inside look of like how you, how, how much you'll enjoy it. Okay. So she goes, um, anger demands you do and sadness
Starting point is 00:48:09 requires you be for all my inherited comfort with anger. I find sitting in sadness to be excruciating anger is so much easier. It's a quick release and it feels good in the moment, but it can hurt people, which also hurts me. But if I can manage to sit in the uncomfortable feelings that lie beneath, even for a millisecond, I am offered a tiny gift, the gift of pause. And in that pause, a crack of light comes in and i'm able to see things a little more clearly i know to immediately turn my phone off or if i'm driving pull over and put it in the trunk for its own safety so i don't call anyone and if i'm still mad after a few hours great now i know it's something worth being angry about but the pause allowed me to gather myself and harness my anger so now i can aim it at an
Starting point is 00:48:52 appropriate i cut myself off that's so kelty i don't know how it ends an appropriate thing yes anyway that might put that's okay wow i really f***ed that up but anyway no not at all i think you got that as a tattoo and you still don't you don't have the last word this is like this is the most important thing that has ever happened on this podcast i need you to explain the pause to everyone because we live in this world where you hate something and you instantly go on the internet react and your friend pisses you off and the instant reaction. We are these instant people. We need to pause. We need to Casey. Yeah. Well, it's the dopamine you're saying too. It's like right away you want to unleash and it
Starting point is 00:49:34 feels so good. And we're like, we have to be heard and all of that. And I agree with all of that. But I think for me, I am someone who's, you know, a lot of people are not comfortable confrontation. I am comfortable with it and not, but in a way that's like too comfortable. And that is more about me getting an uncomfortable feeling off of me and kind of flinging it at someone else. And that actually, first of all, it's horrible for them. But for me, then I'm sitting there for 24 hours feeling so badly in what felt good for two seconds, but it's actually quite destructive. And I lived like that a lot of my twenties and thirties. And I just, I mean, I've been in therapy for so long, but for me, I've just needed to like take a beat or I I'm just not
Starting point is 00:50:15 acting from not only not acting from a highest place, acting from the lowest common place, which is just, there's zero good outcome for that. But it's really hard. Like one time I told my, I screamed at my husband, I tried to, well, I didn't try, but I was sort of getting into our car to drive it through the house, like drive the car through the outside of the house. And these are just things you don't love. You know, like I, before we got married, I threw my phone against the wall so hard in our house, I had to bring someone in to do more drywall at like different places of the house. These aren't things to be proud of, you know? I don't love these things. they don't feel good but I just had to wrestle with it and I actually saw this one therapist
Starting point is 00:50:54 this is a phrase that's really helped me because sometimes you just cannot pause like a white hot rage has overtaken you and you are out of like you've you've exploded out of the atmosphere and those times are harder but what I try to you know when something's happening to you and you're like I'm out of body I'm hovering in an in-between place or this is so excruciating or this is so upsetting or whatever's happening I try to just say this one phrase to myself that this therapist taught me, which has helped, which is that she said to say, this is the moment I find myself in. So it just removes you a little bit from like, I'm in this to like, okay, I'm sort of a viewer of like, this is the moment that I found myself. This is just simply the reality we're in. Whatever
Starting point is 00:51:32 it is, like your kids are screaming in the car and you can't pull over or, you know, you're being fired, whatever it is. And something about just saying that, it even takes a second to think it, it just kind of like calms you down and gives you just a second of like, typically I then go, okay, like you're almost like what can I do and this is way too long of an answer but all to say I've struggled with that moment of kind of sitting in uncomfortable feelings because I think in our culture we really are trained to grab a Snickers to do anything but and I'm right there with you I don't want to sit there with it but I feel I can stand behind my actions so much more if I do didn't one of your listeners get this is the moment I find myself in tattooed oh really I
Starting point is 00:52:14 don't know really is this i might be confusing she runs the fan page so she knows she's like yeah well she's the one that also uploaded that photo of me from yes or whatever yeah i i was so thrilled that they did someone did just get a tattoo of my face on their leg which just making me laugh because i have to put me in a gucci sweater which really touched me it was like how chic how chic like to be was that like a torso picture it's a torso yeah it's a three-quarter okay um it was on a gentleman's calf and i just felt so humbled you know and so honored and then to be put in gucci just felt so good you know now was he how was your face like yes happy endings fan and my dad was like oh your husband better watch out and my brother
Starting point is 00:53:04 and I'm like dad this is not a straight gentleman this is a lovely homosexual and your face looks good on it it's it looks good yeah I feel like no really good tattoos are ever good yeah it looks good I have to say I was pleasantly surprised and so touched wow I love this beautiful I love this so much okay Becca last thing before we go what is hidden on your phone oh my god she's an onion Okay. Pulls this shit out. Like right before we go on, by the way, I have a Casey Rose Wilson fan page on my phone. What is on there? Because here's the thing. And normally I've had like two heroes come on the podcast and I normally bomb. I really, I, I don't know about you, but I do my worst work when it matters the most, you know, across the board, across the board. So I, I had,
Starting point is 00:53:55 uh, you mentioned that you're a Taurus moon, which makes you a bed person. yes i too am a taurus moon you are and i too am a bed person i love being my bed conducting business from my bed eating in my bed doing all the things from the bed but here's the thing you've been able to get your husband to so beautifully join you in the bed my husband refuses to eat a meal in the bed yeah it's not gonna be for everybody you know it's hard to find a partner who will roll out a beach towel and place a chicken parmesan atop it and watch television with you. It's hard. You are the luckiest woman alive. I just want to say that. Oh my God. But to all of you bed and bath people out there, I say, speak your truth. We'll continue to try to
Starting point is 00:54:39 do everything you can do from a horizontal position and see the rewards it brings. All that you can manifest. I'm lying down. I also was on a walk listening and the, you wrote about your co-stars on happy endings these were love letters like the most anytime one of them dies i am going to make sure their family remembers to be reading the chat the part of your book where you talk about these individuals and i was thinking if i had to do this die their parents are gonna get a strange knock at the door here you are you don't know me be like you can read this at the funeral if you want i wrote it fine and this is the moment you find yourself in yeah here while you're in that um the the letters are so beautiful and the whole
Starting point is 00:55:27 time i was like god as a narcissist i was like i wish we all had to do this for people that we worked with because i was going to ask jack and kelty to do that to do this for me but i if you're a fan of happy endings which i know so many of our listeners are go get the book simply to read that you didn't work with a monster which is so rare it's very rare and yet no it was like a dream we just we all got along great we had such a blast it was great i i do want to jump in because i i feel like we're gonna end the podcast without really talking about happy endings but happy endings is one of my favorite shows of all time i think you're coming alive here at the end i think it is the most underrated well this is this is this is why i love you so much like i
Starting point is 00:56:11 think penny hearts is a iconic character that are related to so much the show is so funny and so ahead of its time and flew over so many people's heads that i was literally visionary i was devastated when it got canceled i think it was one of the funniest shows of all time and like i love it so much so that makes me so happy that everybody was so great because i loved every single character on it so much but penny was my favorite i love that thank you for saying that i love the show too and it's like people have either seen it a million times or they've simply never heard of it so i so appreciate that it was also like you kind of have an in with the man who created the show you know sort of you know you eat meals in bed together yeah he's that gentleman
Starting point is 00:56:52 eating the chicken why don't you bring it back now i know believe me we have tried and we we are trying but i'm like do people want to see us like 45 i mean my character would be dead okay no great no we need it it's not sex in the city it's not you know we're not going to feel like that. Okay. It's going to be uplifting and, and so fun. Okay. Great. Um, the last thing I'm going to say is I started doing something that you, um, talk about in your book. I had a son six months ago and in all these moments, thank you. And all these moments I'm like, I have to remember this. How am I going to remember this? I need to tell him this story and I need to take this picture. And I have like 85 million pictures on my phone. How will I remember? You set up email
Starting point is 00:57:36 addresses for your sons that you send letters occasional emails to them yeah for later down the road when they have access to their email accounts so it's like a picture or a story or so i did this and i just oh my god i love this i've told so many parents that this is like the coolest idea and it can be quick we're all busy i don't have time to like write letters by candle light to them like you can even just write like we went to the zoo you know you said yeah like just quick little somethings because you forget everything i love it so much and i think yeah afraid i i lost my mom when i was like 23 and i just wish it would have been you know just to get things as they're happening it would just be so special to have had that i thought but the hard
Starting point is 00:58:20 thing is i email everyone all the passwords and i'm like please get this to my kids if i die they're like ah like it's a little scary the amount of times you send these emails subject if i die and they're like we can't find that password i'm like you better find that password i'm gonna give the world the password just say it on the podcast yeah casey you're a delight bitch sesh is the bomb uh wherever you get your podcasts you're already listening what what are we kidding uh you can follow her on instagram at casey rose wilson um you can check out her wikipedia page you can check out my flicker account go see that pic go see it you can buy in paperback or i suggest the hardcover the wreckage of my presence it's
Starting point is 00:59:03 so freaking good i do hope they make like some sort of movie tv show based on you as the main character as yourself um i'm sure you're already working on that and are you in development um we're we're we're working you know we're gonna always working always working guys always working like you guys you guys are so cool i love i love the three of you you're so generous you're so kind to have, I mean, Danielle and I haven't done a drop of research on one guest. So this is really appreciated. And I'm learning, I'm saying to myself, you know what? I'm going to call Danielle and be like, why the, don't we do research? Why don't we have a headset? I'm learning a lot. You girls are incredible. You're funny, you're smart and you're gorgeous. And I
