Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey guys, it's your Lady Gang, Jack Vanek, Kelty Knight, and Becca Tobin. Thank you so much for subscribing on iTunes, and thanks for supporting the great sponsors who make it possible for us to have this much fun with you every single week for free. Well, what is this? Welcome to the Lady Gang. That's amazing. Say that again. The Lady Gang.
Starting point is 00:00:20 Things are about to change around here. Each week, we catch up with Hollywood's hottest girl posse, Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek. It's a chilly night in Los Angeles. And Becca's wearing a big jacket. I'm jealous of that jacket. You look so good. You look so good.
Starting point is 00:00:43 Literally my worst. Guys, I'm constantly jealous of your face, too. I don't know why, because my face is my biggest pet peeve of my life. Nope. Nope. You should aim higher. What's your pet peeve? My face.
Starting point is 00:00:58 Honestly, me too. I legit sometimes wake up in the morning and go in the bathroom and I'm like, really? I still look like this? All the money that I've spent, this is what it is? This is it. It just keeps getting worse. My Botox lasts less amount of time every time I get it done. I know.
Starting point is 00:01:13 Can I go first? Oh, wait. Yeah. It's time for... Good week. Yes, it is. Bad week. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:01:20 Okay. Bad week. Go. So, you know I love Oprah. And you know that Oprah's best friend is Gayle King. But I hate calling Gayle King Oprah's best friend because she's a very – It's rude. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:31 She's a revered newswoman. Yeah. Like, you know, she's also – She's legit. Yeah. She's editor-in-chief of Oprah Magazine. She's like a badass power color wearing like Instagram queen. So I was recently in New York and I was visiting over at the CBS station, CBS This Morning, et cetera, and I ran into Gayle King.
Starting point is 00:01:51 And this is a bad week. She ran up to me. It was kind of a good – it started good. She was like, lady gang, lady gang, lady gang. And I was like, whoa, if Gail's watching. Wait. Oprah's definitely watching. She said that just out of nowhere?
Starting point is 00:02:05 Yeah. Oh, she just, well, I know her. Oh. But she came following me, lady gang, lady gang, lady gang. So then I'm like, you know, Gail, we've been trying to get you on the show because Kevin Frazier at ET's assistant used to work with Gail. So I, we have the email address. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:02:22 I didn't have to go through a publicist. We know you. I went directly to the source, and I never got a response. So I was like, you know what? I've been trying to get you on Lady Gang. She's like, oh, no, no, no, no. I can't go on the Lady Gang. She's like, you guys are too wild, which I was like, oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:02:42 And then this is the best part is that she turned back to me and she goes, by the way, I talked about pooping during childbirth like 20 years ago on the Oprah show. so you think you're so crazy well you know the new york times just did a special on me and in it i talked about my wildest stories which was 20 years ago and i was like she needs to come on the lady game but i'm like i'm like she contradicted herself i'm like we're not too wild for you table pooper yeah i think it would be amazing i would and honestly we don't have to do an embarrassing episode we can do a calm one gail listen we can tone it down for our guests we've done it before we've done it before okay good week there is something really cool that i discovered i was sitting in a moving screening waiting for it to start it was of course late
Starting point is 00:03:31 and the guy beside me was like hey have you heard of dark mode and i was like on your phone yeah have you do i have it where everything is like does everyone have it oh so it's this thing like you can set it you can be in a movie or like in the morning when your phone is so bright and it's like hurting your eyes you just click a couple click three times you have to set it up first and then you just go click, click, click, and then it takes you to dark mode where everything is opposite town and it's black.
Starting point is 00:03:57 Wow. I think it's great, and I'm into dark mode, and that's it. Who's next? I hate you both. Who's next? I'll go next.
Starting point is 00:04:05 Okay, good. Okay, my good week is another TV show. Ooh. So a couple months ago, maybe a year ago, I got very, very into this show, Sweet Home Oklahoma on Bravo. You got into a Bravo show?
Starting point is 00:04:19 No. Can you believe it? Shocking. But listen, it was so good. Three best friends, Oklahoma. They're all really funny. I would move down there to hang out with them. Three girls?
Starting point is 00:04:31 Yeah, like three women. Okay. Well, they didn't get a second season, and I was distraught beyond. I went to grief counseling for it. I didn't. As one does. so um but now that bravo has their new home shows one of the women on the show is an interior designer decorator and they have sweet home spin-off their back bitches oh it's just called
Starting point is 00:05:01 sweet home so what does she do her name is jennifer welch they're they live in oklahoma she sounds sassy she is sassy we would she would be so incredible on the lady gang she's so funny her best friend she calls her pumps she pranks her all the time these are like older women like in their 40s oh they prank each other they with each other they're so funny i love people like this i don't know the same way they found us no we were like a podcast and we were begging they're like random women in the middle of america everyone wants to be on a reality show i don't think so i think it's actually really really hard to get people there's no way they fully were on board they're not just gonna be like oh oops i just pooped myself into a reality
Starting point is 00:05:46 show like but i wonder if they had a cat or whatever maybe anyway they i'm i don't know how they i would actually be very interested to find out how they got their show invite her on come on samantha what's her name tammy well jennifer jennifer is really funny okay i want to go work at jennifer welch designs here's my bad week it actually kind of is a good segue i realized something today on my way to an audition when i have a day where i actually have to go to an audition and it's like at today it was at 2 30 i find myself throughout the day before that happens looking at people in their cars and wanting their lives so a police officer drove past me and it was a woman in her cop car and i was like subconsciously i had this thought
Starting point is 00:06:28 that i caught consciously mid-thought where i was like i wish i had that job because i hate auditioning so much that every single time i have to do it i'm envious of people who don't have to do it so i think that maybe i need to take a deeper look at what i'm doing with my life i legitimately caught myself yeah i caught myself wanting that woman's job there's been a lot of times that i i really understand becca you do you yes there's been a lot of times that i've been out and about and i'm like you know wouldn't it be nice that your hours were like 10 to 5 yeah or nine to five is a bad example for this because it's really harder job and way worse like yeah that job is so demanding but i do it in general every single job i think about that
Starting point is 00:07:09 sometimes i work so many nights and i was like what would it be like to be able to like go get dinner with friends after work right like you know exactly what your schedule is you know exactly you're gonna have the weekends off nothing's gonna pop up but i mean they're gonna live or die so like that it wasn't the right thing the cop was a bad example but i find myself doing that with everybody who's doing something that i'm not right like anyone that's no the grass is always greener that's just how that goes cheers cheers to your today i wanted to like be the girl taking my order at astro burger no you don't yeah i did i was like you don't have to study lines you don't have to go into a room and get judged you have to be in here and eat all the french fries you want
Starting point is 00:07:46 that's true god i love french fries okay my bad week is i was driving this morning and you know when you like drive past a flock of birds they're like the aerodynamics or whatever of them do they kind of like lift up and like fly past you yeah i flew past a bird there was a bird that must have had like a broken wing no i flew past it and it landed on my windshield and its face just went he was looking at me in the eyes his face was on my glass and i just had to keep going and then he split up the top of my car and then just went over it was a pigeon that's so sad i know i've never been face to face with a bird that was probably struggling and hurt and injured and i feel very bad for him you know you have to like burn a car if you get a dead bird in
Starting point is 00:08:38 the radiator yeah you can't get that smell out i had a dead mouse in my old car a dead mouse did it get into your tooth mouse family it happens a lot in the colder areas because what happens is that you'll drive your car into the garage and it'll be warm because it's been on right and then you'll leave the car and then all the mice and animals will scurry in and try to like burrow in them because it's warm yeah especially in canada and then next morning turn the car on dead you're cooked yeah my agent had a literal rat's nest in her car oh my god don't do they have like a plug that you can put into the like a butt plug for your car no they should It doesn't work like that.
Starting point is 00:09:19 I should make a butt plug for ours. Okay, my good week is, this happened a couple weeks ago, but I keep forgetting to talk about it. So they, Podcast One, accidentally uploaded my true crime podcast, an episode of my true crime podcast, onto Kim Zolciak's podcast. What? so i got all these messages from people that were listening to kim zolciak's podcast being like it was really weird that you know you're talking about a really gruesome murder wait you probably got some listeners i got a shit ton of listeners that's great kim zolciak's fans are now my fans if you like true crime it was amazing it's the best thing that's ever happened
Starting point is 00:10:00 to me that's i want to let's do that with lady gang i know no kidding let's get like a really good yeah on to like joe rogan we're the best podcast so remember when we did uh what's his faces podcast adam carolla yeah he hated us he hated us i was not invited dumb bitches yeah i wasn't there no it was just you yeah it was two of us oh okay coming up we're about to get pitch perfect we're back pitches okay okay that's enough you're listening to the lady gang I officially met our guest today a few weeks ago while I was interviewing her, and I thought she was so funny that I was, like, tweeting her, because some of us still live on Twitter, and was like, please, can I DM you, and will you come on late again, because I think you're hilarious. And so you might know her because in 2007, she rose to prominence after she was cast as the character Mercedes Juarez in the medical drama General Hospital. She's also known for her role as Chi-Chi in Teen Beach Movie and Teen Beach Movie 2.
Starting point is 00:11:05 And most importantly, for her role as Flo in Pitch Perfect 2 and Pitch Perfect 3. She's also a Days for Girls international ambassador, using her platform to champion menstrual solutions and health education for women and girls all over the world. Most importantly, she's hot AF. Please welcome to the Lady Gang, Chrissy Fitt. Most importantly. What? I just love you because you're like, I'm going to sing. I'm going to be hot.
Starting point is 00:11:30 I'm going to help you with your period. Yes, exactly. What exactly does that entail? A lot of stuff. Well, the majority of the work is, like, we make these kits that are also great for the environment because they're reusable. So we give these girls all around the world that don't have access to, you know, pads, tampons, these reusable pads that they can use over and over every month. That's amazing. And, you know, like, in the kit we even have, like, two pairs of panties.
Starting point is 00:11:58 Like, there's so many girls around the world that don't even have underwear. I know, it's crazy. Like, when you start thinking about that, you're just like, oh, my God, I'm so grateful for the luxuries that I have. You know what I mean? So you do that, and then there's also, like, places where you go and you give the kits. And if you don't have money to donate, you can also, like, help make the kits, which is really cool. They have, like, different, like, chapters all around the United States that do that, and that's awesome. That's amazing.
Starting point is 00:12:25 I love that. Days for Girls. Okay. love that I know awesome we should do something good with our power we're trying it's very hard um okay number one question is what I was like oh what do I want to know what do I want to know you slid in my dms by the way yeah hey girl nice to meet you can you come on lady gang you're so funny and I was like yeah it was awesome it was great um I'm easy Mission accomplished.
Starting point is 00:12:51 Can you perform the cups dance from Pitch Perfect? I know it wasn't your song. It wasn't my thing, but... Could you? I can. You can? I can now. Should we do it right now?
Starting point is 00:13:04 I need a cup. Well, we have cups. Oh, my goodness. I wish this was... Yeah. Oh! Yeah, but I used to do it, like, in grade school. Oh.
Starting point is 00:13:12 That's amazing. Oh, it's not a new thing? No. Anna Kendrick did not invent that? I used to do that at church camp in seventh grade. Oh. Oh, wow. Did you go to church camp?
Starting point is 00:13:20 What happened to you? Can you guys do it? Okay. Anyway. Oh, look, she'll get to do it with the cup. Okay. Five, six, seven, eight. I bought a ticket for the long way there.
Starting point is 00:13:31 Oh, my God. That was impressive. That was impressive. See, like, I can do that, like, whole thing with plates. Wow. So, yeah, yeah, yeah, totally. I'm just joking. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:13:43 I was like, that is, like, you, like, fuck it around above your head. I'm like, you don't have plates here, I'm sure, so I'm just going to go with that one. The good news is that you might get the opportunity because I did see on Instagram everyone was holding up fours. So that means there's going to be a Pitch Perfect Four. Oh, yeah, because everything on the internet is true. It's true. I thought it would be fun if we all decide what should happen in Pitch Perfect Four. Oh, my God, let's do it.
Starting point is 00:14:04 Do you know what you want to happen? Well, yeah. I know if there is a Pitch Perfect Four. I'm not saying that there is or isn't right now. Um, I would love to see the Bellas and the, like, dudes get back to, you know, like, have that rivalry again. I wasn't in the first one, which was my favorite one. Um, so I'm like, oh, can we just, like, recreate the first one?
Starting point is 00:14:28 And, like, I'm in it this time. Okay. I have an idea, too. Okay, great. Okay. So Pitch Perfect 4, Ben Platt Returns. That's what we literally call it. Oh, perfect.
Starting point is 00:14:38 Pitch Perfect 4, Ben Platt Returns. so ben is back and he is now come off his successful run in dear evan hansen on broadway and is a little busy at the moment doing ryan murphy's tv show yeah but like i feel like if all the bellas call him yes he'll come okay yeah he got his start that's the first time anyone thought ben platt was sexy was in the pitch perfect movie when he comes down and he's like i got the mat and you're like you do got the magic and you're like i'm feeling that magic He's so talented Okay so Ben is back
Starting point is 00:15:12 He's hot He's a Tony Award winner And now we're gonna battle For who gets to take the stage At the Tony Awards opening number The Bellas The Bellas versus the boys Because Ben has been on Broadway
Starting point is 00:15:29 So everyone thinks he's a total shoo-in But the Bellas Can they pull it out It's the opening number Hugh Jackman needs our help We can sing We can dance Oh my god
Starting point is 00:15:38 oh my god I feel like this is it's a pitch like this is this is something really good here's the only hiccup
Starting point is 00:15:45 is that Ben Platt has actually not been Ben Platt in any of these movies he is a character that he plays oh gosh legit
Starting point is 00:15:52 it's a little it's a little meta you know what I mean what about if it's Ben Platt Ben Platt no wait what was this character
Starting point is 00:16:01 in the movie called do you remember I don't remember either Benji it's so close oh Benji no no no what they do
Starting point is 00:16:08 is they have benji that'll play the role of ben platt oh my god so benji is actually dear evan hansen like this feels like reception yes yes and then we just keep going in yes and then like we'll get into like anna kendrick being like a child star on broadway yes and all of a sudden we're in les mis and it's like the battle of broadway yes and then can i play anita in west side story. I was never a hater. You can make your own history at this point. Everything is kind of real. As my therapist likes to say,
Starting point is 00:16:41 win at your own fantasy. I like your therapist. I need a new one. Fantastic. What is your secret? You've been in these movies. You guys spend a lot of time together. A lot of women. What is the secret? People always say women can't get along
Starting point is 00:16:57 with each other. What's the secret to getting along with women? I think that's BS. Obviously, we're in a room of women right now we're and we all hate each other um but I think like I think communication is great like the minute that you set those like rules like hey if you guys have if there's ever any problem like just let me know because you know our imaginations run wild and then we'll create this bigger thing that it's not and then also like creating memories like I think we created so many memories on these movies and doing the Bella boot camp where we have to learn choreography and dance would they
Starting point is 00:17:33 actually call it that yeah they do how cheesy is that i know it's so cheesy like i want to so wait you guys just like go to a sheraton i'm starting to use that wait so you just like go to like a dance camp like a dance camp at like convention center where is it how long is it like it's right before we start filming and it's like a month essentially you just learn all the routines we learn all the music and the routines and record the songs because we don't sing it live. Spoiler. Yeah, spoiler.
Starting point is 00:18:02 Or Dream Crusher. What are you talking about? Wait a second. What? Movies aren't real? What? But yeah, we do this whole thing. And so it's like, there'll be days when I'm just not getting it and then
Starting point is 00:18:16 Rebel will come up and be like, Oh, Chrissy, I don't know why I always try to do the Australian accent. It's so hard. But, you know, she'll come up and she'll be like, oh, I'll help you. You know, or I need a new joke. And Anna Kendrick's like, what if you do this? And then it's like.
Starting point is 00:18:33 That's so nice. Yeah. So it's good because we, like, share this experience together. Right. And then when we're bitchy towards each other, we're like, huh. I remember that time she was nice, you know. It's like sorority sisters. Yes.
Starting point is 00:18:45 I wasn't a sorority. You were? Yeah. No. When did you go to school? I went to Florida International University. I know. Impressive.
Starting point is 00:18:54 right across the street from like university of miami you probably heard of that one yeah yeah yeah um what was your major i was in dance in theater it wasn't a theater school it wasn't a theater school no no no i was the star of that school because it wasn't a theater school yeah yeah like alumni yeah what authority were you in I'm out of there. Alpha Xi Delta. What does that mean? Um,
Starting point is 00:19:23 I don't know. Did you have to rush? I did. I had to rush. Did stuff happen? No, because, I mean,
Starting point is 00:19:31 there was one thing that was kind of weird. Like we had to stay up like all night and then. Oh, that's normal. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:38 Yeah, that's normal. That's just a normal Tuesday for Kelsey. Yeah. Because I have anxiety. She rushes herself every night.
Starting point is 00:19:44 You know what would be fun? You know what would be fun to accomplish today? What if I can stay for 24 hours? And then I'll make lists while I do it and do abs. Yes. Adrenaline.
Starting point is 00:19:53 But yeah, I was in a sorority for a while. Our motto, I think, was like, realize your true potential, which is a little creepy when you're like 21. You're like, what? But now I'm like, yeah, I'm realizing my potential. Good for you, FIU. Is that it? FIU?
Starting point is 00:20:09 Yes. Nice. Okay. So I was thinking, since it's very rare that we have other triple threats on the show other than our own Becca Tobin that you guys can sing. I thought you were going to say yourself. I didn't know. I got to get it. I was shocked. I can't sing.
Starting point is 00:20:25 I can't sing. You should try though. I'd try. Okay. I was thinking it would be fun. I'm not singing before you introduce whatever we're doing. Oh, I thought it would be fun if you had a duet. No. No. No. Okay, me and Jack will do a duet. Yeah. Yeah. I like
Starting point is 00:20:41 big butts and I cannot lie. You other brothers can't deny. When a girl walks in with an itty bitty ring and the red thing in your face you get sprung i don't know anymore that's all we know really good you know what like there's no way we could follow that up anyway so i think that like you're welcome i'll take the trophy i do kind of want to know what the i'm sorry to keep this it's not going to be all pitch perfect but what is the audition like um the audition really like was very hard because there were so many steps and like we had tell us at all yeah we like i went in and i read
Starting point is 00:21:14 and then I did a little bit of a song but like I didn't know that Elizabeth Banks who directed the second one which is where I started because I wasn't in the first one um I'm just gonna like say that over and over never never never um but she was in the room like for my first audition like right here yeah like like that's how far away she was and I didn't expect that so I was just like oh hi my name like I just like forgot everything my life and um but like I just I ended up doing it i was like you know what the chances of this happening are maybe slim to none so like i'm just gonna have fun and i just made it a fun experience and then they called me back and i was like oh crap wait can you curse in this yes okay did you see me like i like how you're like crap
Starting point is 00:21:59 um now this might be like a real thing yeah so like i went back and um did the the um the call back and i should say that in the first audition because i was so nervous that liz was like right there i just i i forgot the lyrics to my song my mom was like what was the song i did adele rolling in the deep oh oh yeah it was ballsy it was ballsy um i also didn't know how popular it was like you're sitting in the waiting room and there's like there's a fire And I'm like, oh, crap. Everyone was singing it? No.
Starting point is 00:22:37 Oh, no way. You're like, no. No. Because that's a good one when you're like, you know what? I can sing and you're in the car. And you're like, this would be a good. This is in my range. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:45 I like this type of thing, too. Right, right, right. I can bring the emotion. And then my mom gave me the idea of switching the lyrics to Spanish to show that I speak Spanish. Oh, I love that. Which I was like, that's going to be clutch. Except that I forgot the lyrics.
Starting point is 00:23:02 so I was like I'm like singing and then I'm just like by the way I'm gonna do a little bit of it in Spanish I just want to give you a heads up in the middle of the song and like Elizabeth Banks you were just like it was just like oh yeah I mean you could have just done it uh you want to start again and so I did it again and thankfully I remember I remembered and it was fine but that's why you were like saying that because you're gonna try to pick back up at some point when your brain got back together
Starting point is 00:23:32 yeah I was like oh and then it didn't come and then she said to do it again and I was like okay great and then you did it
Starting point is 00:23:38 in Spanish she saw that I was nervous you don't have to sing but can you just like recite some of it I'm trying to remember what it was oh it's like
Starting point is 00:23:48 the second part where it's like the scars of your love okay and I went to Las heridas sirven como un recuerdo De todo el daño que me hizo tu amor Oh, that's fast.
Starting point is 00:24:05 I can kind of see how you got the job. I see it. So you went for the callback. I went for the callback. And you're like, oh shit, now I want it. Yeah, I like really want it. And then I said, you know what? I kind of messed up that song.
Starting point is 00:24:17 So I'm going to do a different song. And all the other girls were singing that song anyway. So I'm like, I'm going to do another song. So you chose Song Song by Sisqo. that actually came that was in pitch perfect too um there was like a little bit remember that yeah um but i did uh at last by etta james oh gosh that's good and literally the girl right before no things no last by etta james and i was like are you kidding me what the hell and also like at this point it's like you know actresses that i know and i'm just like oh well who was it
Starting point is 00:24:53 okay say your name okay when you're waiting the hallway and it was it like everyone they were looking for your part they were looking for my part and they were also looking for hayley steinfeld's part um so there were like a lot of different kind of girls so it wasn't just like all the same yeah and like and like i can hear yeah their auditions and then getting nervous and i was like crap and then um whatever i went in and i was like i'm just again gonna have fun and i did it and then they asked me to do like like out of the blue they were like oh can you improvise like just about your character oh i was like that is such a low blow yeah cool but i did it and i guess like not the other actresses did it that's why i didn't want to say names of the
Starting point is 00:25:39 other actresses what do you mean so what did you i'll tell you later hi i'm yeah and i was just like this is my background florencia fuentes and like this is where i come from where i come from and I had like a whole off the freaking cuff and it was so weird like it was like one of those blackout moments where I was like what the hell did I say you're possessed by the talent
Starting point is 00:26:00 oh I love that but apparently like they were laughing and they liked it and then we did another music audition and then that's it that was it and I was like going
Starting point is 00:26:16 home like from a fitting or something for the Radio Disney Music Awards. I remember it because it's like the day I got this news, you know what I mean? And then I get the news like, oh, you got Pitch Perfect too. And the first thing I was like,
Starting point is 00:26:33 oh, so I have to return my dress. I'm just like thinking. Because you couldn't go to the radio studio. You couldn't go to the thing. And I was like, I feel so bad that I can't go. You're like, I'm
Starting point is 00:26:48 movie i'm a movie star now so yeah that's pretty fun that's amazing um okay hollywood heartbreak time you missed out on something oh gosh i feel like it's happening right now no i'm just joking you're like well that's an audition not really so is becca um yeah auditions are the worst yeah but i'm really like west side story is my favorite you should You need to be in that. No, like, they won't even see me. What? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:20 Like, this podcast is going to be my... You know, I'm just maybe, like, too old. No, because I know a girl who's up for Anita, and she looks like your mom. Oh, come on. Yeah, but she probably is younger than me in real life. No, no. Shit. We'll figure this out, though.
Starting point is 00:27:37 But it'll be fine. We're going to make it happen. You would be so cute. You would be so good. Have you gone in for, like, those live musical things, which I think Becca should be doing too like the rents
Starting point is 00:27:46 and the grease and all that stuff hurt my soul yeah they hurt your soul I just get like a little shy about singing live you know
Starting point is 00:27:54 or scared anxious I haven't done it so long that I'm like oh if we can pre-record the music
Starting point is 00:28:01 cool cool cool well that's not live anymore sometimes people do that in those just so you know drop it that's cheating like the ones they put on TV
Starting point is 00:28:10 yeah no yeah yeah really I won't name names. You'll tell us later. I'll tell you later. I can't wait to go to the dirt.
Starting point is 00:28:18 What's a heartbreak? A real one. How much time was there between finishing Pitch Perfect 2 and finding out that there was going to be a third? Oh, gosh. Like a year. A year and a half. So, like, after that first movie, what were you doing? Were you, like, it's a weird time, right?
Starting point is 00:28:38 It's weird. because you're like kind of getting famous but then you're really like not because you know you still have to audition and do the stuff and then i was getting offered a lot of things that were like had an accent and was like stereotypical latina because of you know i have an accent in the movie yeah um and then i was like i don't want to do that i don't want to be that girl so i had to turn down a lot of things and then it this town is so fickle then they forget about you and then you have to like do it all over again and so I thankfully like I'm a writer and um you know developing my own stuff and doing that stuff on like the downtime but um I did do a live musical
Starting point is 00:29:22 at the Pasadena Playhouse just because it was going to be like the first like Latina Tinkerbell and I thought that would be so cool for young girls to see like you know a Tinkerbell speaking spanish and being like feisty it was really really fun but it was really hard yeah and i was like kudos to people on broadway and like doing it live eight times a week it's nuts i finally just saw hamilton you did what have you seen it yeah have you seen it no i mean it was great yeah people are gonna hate me but like you should never hype things too much right right because That's why I saw A Star is Born, like, immediately. Before people were talking about it.
Starting point is 00:30:02 Oh, yeah. Because I just feel like. It is great. Yeah. Hamilton is great, but you. But it's like, I wasn't orgasming. Right. People, yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:11 It's like, people are like, it's the best show ever. Here's the thing, though. For Broadway, it's great. Yeah. Yeah. Because you'll go to something else. Like, if you go to, like, a normal, which they're all great and everyone's super talented. If you go to that and then you see Hamilton, then, like, you're like, this is genius.
Starting point is 00:30:27 yeah because it's so different from what they're doing and like i love history um so i'm like oh snap that's when alexander did that to that fool you know you could do that show oh my god i would love that i'd even like i would love to be peggy like peggy you know that's it that's my audition that's my audition but um call me lynn yeah call me lynn so i want to just bug you about your personal life what's your like status who like are we dating alhemsworth like what's going on oh yeah like the fifth Hemsworth
Starting point is 00:30:58 nobody knows are you kidding a Hemsworth yeah like bonus Jonas there is a third Hemsworth is he hot
Starting point is 00:31:05 there is he's becoming an actor he is hot isn't he on like Westworld or something so he is an actor he's not becoming an actor
Starting point is 00:31:13 he's like oh ready but like he's not like you know movie star like his brothers
Starting point is 00:31:21 yet he will be what an easy end he might be he should But I hope so. He has all the help in the world. If he doesn't, you know there's something really wrong.
Starting point is 00:31:30 I'm not at the moment, but I'm, like, so weirdly personal, like, about that. Private. That's what I meant. Is it hard now because people want to date you because you're in the movies? Yeah. No, it's gross. It's kind of gross. And then, so you can't be on, like, the dating apps because you never know.
Starting point is 00:31:53 and like people are really strange on there and then they had like another app raya yeah yeah and i was like no either because i'm like swiping and i'm like oh i want to work with that director i don't want him to see me do a duck face like that's weird yeah so then i'm like i'm out of here too it's just like where do you meet anyone not in real life because nobody even like makes eye contact anymore so it's like it's a weird world we live in yeah and then i i mean i always am like no more actors and then of course it's what you need it's who you see we love that's who you're around yeah yeah that's like your lifestyle right but i mean there's like a level of insecurity with actors speaking for myself included you know we we don't need to
Starting point is 00:32:43 no like we can't always wonder like how these like actors when they get in relationships yeah like a rod and jennifer lopez makes sense to me because he's like a retired athlete he's had his glory like three days and now he's like now i'm gonna support jennifer like i get that and that's like two hollywood people but when it's like two the two kids from riverdale i'm like this cannot be good like 20 years old yeah like i i'm not gonna last when you're 40 well not with that attitude well I'm not in a relationship
Starting point is 00:33:16 so it doesn't matter I don't think it's usually statistically very very high anyway right right right okay well but it is
Starting point is 00:33:22 yeah but like you know I am starting to date again and it was so funny because I was like on Jimmy Kimmel live recently and somebody was like
Starting point is 00:33:32 oh Michael B. Jordan is here and suddenly like I became like the Black Panther I'm like let's pounce let's find him and let's pounce
Starting point is 00:33:41 He's so cute. But I didn't even see him. He is so sexy. And you didn't even see him? We didn't even see him. You couldn't ask Jimmy? I know. I couldn't.
Starting point is 00:33:48 Listen. Jimmy was cock blocking me. Yeah, you should have an introduction if you're on the same show. That's the thing. I was going to be like, we'll set you up, girl. But if you're on Kimmel, honestly, we can't do anything for you. Damn. We need those Kimmel-level celebrities.
Starting point is 00:33:59 I know. I know. Michael B. Jordan has been like a hot topic for us lately. I know. Well, did you see him? The Creed poster. Yeah, but he's like, it's so funny. I have such a good Michael B. Jordan story.
Starting point is 00:34:10 did I tell the story of when he had yeah he was in this bad movie I won't say which one it was Fantastic Five and I was doing the press junket
Starting point is 00:34:18 and like we just saw it and it's so weird because the movie wasn't finished yet and there was a bunch of CGI and so like when the press went to go screen it
Starting point is 00:34:25 it would just be like these like guys and like the green screen it would be like gosh yeah a lot of times that happens because the movie
Starting point is 00:34:32 doesn't come out for like another six months Thor I saw and it was that hot guy with the big head who's like Chris Hemsworth no not Thor
Starting point is 00:34:41 Hercules I don't know it was the guy that was in Twilight he was like the sixth no he was like the sixth vampire in Twilight blonde spiky tips oh like Keelan Lutz something
Starting point is 00:34:56 anyway I don't know and it was like him it was him just with golf balls on strings oh my gosh why would they do that Because there was going to be – anyway, so I went in this room and Michael B. Jordan was like – I was like, congratulations on the movie. And he's like, what did you think of the movie?
Starting point is 00:35:16 And, like, I could not hold it together because, like, I'm not a good liar. And I was just like, you were great. Okay. It was bad. He probably appreciated that, though. Did he, though? I know. Even when our podcast is – I want people to be like, that was the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Starting point is 00:35:33 I don't want the truth. You don't want the truth? No. Okay. Okay. Well, when we come back, Chrissy's going to help you figure out your life. Yes. Hey, ladies!
Starting point is 00:35:43 Get funky. Ask the Lady Gang. And we're back. So we have our listeners writing questions, and we try to give them the best advice that we can. Great. Are you ready to join? Godspeed. So obviously, I have it all together, right?
Starting point is 00:35:56 You have it all figured out. We have it all figured out. Great auditions, good at dating. Rushing everything. I mean, just everything. All right. Are the directors really on Raya? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:06 Are there good directors on Raya? You could date a director. I'd date a director, but all I found on Raya were like creative directors in quotes that were sleeping on somebody's couch. Oh, gotcha. Well, you know what? I came in like real early when it was- I did too.
Starting point is 00:36:20 Yeah. And there was a little bit- A better selection. Yeah. Better- Like Ron Howard or like what level? Not very. That would be very-
Starting point is 00:36:28 I would probably not go up to Ron Howard. Okay. Spielberg's like- I probably did. I probably did. I'm like 65. That's your problem. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:36 Oh, wow. I love Ron Howard. I love Arrested Development. Okay. First question comes from Help Me. Help Me says, I'm in desperate need of help with my sex life or lack thereof. I'm a senior in college and both me and my boyfriend are virgins. We've attempted to have sex, but it never actually happens.
Starting point is 00:36:53 It never actually happens. I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to sex. That was a weird sentence. My friends and I would be comfortable talking about this with our not having sex. We both come from abstinence-based sex education, and I haven't searched the internet to avoid any weird porno ads popping up on my Facebook. They don't pop up on your Facebook, by the way. What are some ways that I can educate myself and actually figure out this whole sex thing?
Starting point is 00:37:18 Whoa. Whoa. There's a lot to unload here. Yes. A lot of unpacking to do. I think you're overthinking it. Does she want to have sex? Yes, they want to have sex, but they don't know how, and they don't watch porn, so they
Starting point is 00:37:31 don't know- Well, you just put the penis in the vagina. Not really, though, Jack. There's more to it than that. Don't watch porn, because it's not realistic. It's very aggressive. Yeah, he'll be jackhammering you until the fucking, yeah. It's not pleasurable, and, like, no one needs to be doing those noises.
Starting point is 00:37:46 So don't do that. What can you, what, how can you find information? If she has a boyfriend and they want to have sex, it's all about, like, experimenting and figuring out what you both like. So maybe trying, like, oral things or, like, if you're not, like, ready to have actual sex, like, figure out what each other likes. Like, you know. I say lube and masturbation. Yeah. You should both be masturbating every day.
Starting point is 00:38:14 I agree. But it seems like she doesn't. They don't do that. Is the abstinence-based thing that you have to masturbate? I don't know. I don't know. Maybe you should just continue to be abstinence-based. Why don't you watch?
Starting point is 00:38:24 Maybe she should watch Outlander and all those sexy scenes. I don't watch Outlander. Wait, that's the one with that really hot guy, Jamie Frazier. You know, they have, oh, ladies, I am giving you. Outlander? Yeah. Is it a TV show? It's a TV show on Starz.
Starting point is 00:38:44 And their sex scenes are, like, loving but still, like, erotic. Like a sensual sex scene. Yeah, yeah, yeah. it's like if you don't want to like you know you can you can watch that and it's like i'm just watching tv yeah i like that because it's a way to kind of like dive into it without it being like this raunchy yes gross very overwhelming and intimidating porn right and that's more of like a woman's a woman's porn a war no like it is right right it's like a woman's point of view there's a story i mean i guess you could say that with porn too
Starting point is 00:39:18 they're our characters the lighting's just better it makes all the difference for us typically we give bad advice I actually think that's quite good advice yeah just like watch something that is maybe not it's not like
Starting point is 00:39:33 x-rated but it is like a little like naughty I don't know but I think yeah explore with each other and your bodies and like don't be ashamed of your bodies yeah and also you're not gonna get pop-up ads for porn on facebook unless you have like a pc computer then so yeah the expert she's like when
Starting point is 00:39:55 i'm on my dell because i feel like we didn't give a good good advice no we don't we never do it's usually get drunk but also you guys could get drunk because honestly yeah getting drunk could help a lot yeah excellent point jack just wear a condom yeah oh definitely yeah okay second question is comes from anonymous anonymous says i have i have this friend who ran a business with her boyfriend long story short they broke up and she was devastated i am still employed there even though my friend is no longer a part of it in the last couple of weeks i've had a lot of red flags signaling me that he may be seeing one of the employees that my friend hired i want her to move on since he's been a complete asshole to her but what do i do
Starting point is 00:40:39 well don't tell her don't tell her he's seeing a new girl don't tell her she needs to find that out on her own you can't be the bearer of that bad news yeah well do you think i don't think it's like a becca well she's gonna find out eventually so maybe it is better that she finds out from her from like if i divorce my husband and then he starts dating someone are you gonna be like healthy i just want you to know he's dating gg hadid but she's in the business that like her her ex hired her friend so the friend is working there the guy should know better not to like be banging the new girl around like you know he doesn't because he's a man yeah yeah i mean yeah well is this is your girlfriend asking a lot about him right is she still in love with
Starting point is 00:41:23 him she's still in love with him like if she is asking you can't lie yeah can't lie but i also think that as a friend i think it's kind of girl code that you tell her i think because i would be I would be really pissed if, like, my girlfriend knew and didn't tell me. And didn't tell me? Me too. I had a friend do that. Oh, no. We're not friends anymore.
Starting point is 00:41:40 Yeah. She actually invited him and the new girlfriend to her birthday party. Oh, hell. And she had a birthday party, so. Done. No, I think she should tell her for sure. Yeah. And also, if she's trying to get over the ex-boyfriend, maybe this will help because
Starting point is 00:41:54 it's like. If she doesn't think that there's a chance. There's no chance. Yeah, yeah. Like. Woof. Close the door for her. and then take her out and like get drunk yeah back to drinking that's the advice
Starting point is 00:42:09 yep okay last question comes from how bold is too bold i had a new date and earlier that day my boss told me an interesting story about juliana ransack and how her husband knew she was the one so i wanted to pull a juliana my boss said juliana paid the bill on the first date and that's how bill knew she was different and special or whatever so when he went up to go to the bathroom i paid the bill it wasn't crazy expensive or anything and we went to a cute bar for happy hour needless to say when he went to ask for the bill he was shocked that it was paid for i said cutely if you want to see me again you have to pay for the next one he still texted me that night and even kissed and we even kissed outside when it was snowing like a damn hallmark movie which i love
Starting point is 00:42:50 the thing is now he hasn't been texting me as much as before the date he texted me when he got home and a few other texts but i can't help but think now he might be ghosting me do you think it was too bold of a move my friends say if he's scared off by that then he's weak what are your thoughts i had i think this is not even remotely related it's a non-issue it has nothing to do with you paying he met someone else also that's a that's like a bad example to be like i paid for the bill and that's how he knew well here's the thing that's a very specific situation he was juliana ransack's husband was a successful wealthy man yes and when that guy takes out women he is used to other girls just expecting him to pay and buy a Gucci bag on date too.
Starting point is 00:43:32 So she's like, I'm not going to be the sugar daddy searching for you. I have my own money. I got my own money. Oh, I like that. So like, girls, if that's the situation, do that. Yeah. That's kind of it, though. Well, not really.
Starting point is 00:43:43 I mean, I don't know. I mean, if you want. It has nothing to do with the situation. No, if you want to pay the bill and do that thing, that's fine. But I don't think that has anything to do with him ghosting you. He's just not that into you. Because guys ghost girls that they pay for the first dates for all the time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:56 That is unrelated. Yeah. So move on and try the Giuliana next time. But I also Venmo for how much those drinks were. My friend had that happen to her. No, some guy did that to me. Yeah, my friend went out on a date. She went to happy hour and he was like, hey, I just can't help but think you haven't reached out as much as I want.
Starting point is 00:44:14 This was like after the date. They had beers. Wait, is this Jack? I know. Are you talking about me? No, it's my friend Devin. Oh. I told you guys this story before you then told it again.
Starting point is 00:44:22 Happened to me too. Yeah, and he sent her a Venmo for happy hour beers, two happy hour beers for $7. Oh, my gosh. Guys, this is why I don't want to date. This is like an epidemic, though. Men are doing this, like, all over the country. That's nuts. I also just want to say, like, I appreciate that your boss is like, let me tell you how to live your life.
Starting point is 00:44:41 And, like, here's a story about Juliana Rancic. But, like, also just do what you think is right. Yeah. Like, just follow your gut. Well, that's the thing. She's starting off by playing a game. A game. Like, don't do something just because you think, like, that's the cool thing to do. Like, do you want to pay the bill or not?
Starting point is 00:44:55 And do that. and just be yourself because like the right guy is going to want you for yourself I've done that in the past
Starting point is 00:45:02 where I pay the bill but like it would be like the second date or something like that just to be cool I'm a cool girl just to be cool
Starting point is 00:45:08 but like I didn't want to be like I'm going to do this to impress you it was just like dude you got me before I'm going to get you again like just showing you
Starting point is 00:45:16 this whatever this is is going to be 50-50 like I'm not going to like you're going to regret that yeah but statistically
Starting point is 00:45:23 it also sets a weird precedent because one of my girlfriends did that in the beginning with the guy that she was dating that made way more money than her and i don't know if it was he was thinking that he he thought that she wanted things to be equal or whatever it was but then she ended up paying for most of the things like time's going out going forward because she started by paying for the first date yeah i guess that happened to me once with one guy and then i was just like wait why am i paying your rent like and then you moved in you're not buying groceries not exactly yeah yeah yeah yeah oh my god well you know good luck everyone that was i mean that was really good advice you think we
Starting point is 00:46:06 ended on a good note because the first two were like just okay and get drunk um okay well happy holidays thank you for being here you guys can follow chrissy on at chrissy fit it's very easy thank you very much for that good luck with all your auditions thank you so much I know you guys
