Starting point is 00:00:32 Welcome to the Lady Gang. That's amazing. Say that again. The Lady Gang. Things are about to change around here. Each week, we catch up with Hollywood's hottest girl posse, Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek. Hello, hello, hello. Welcome to the Lady Gang. I'm Becca Tobin here with Jack Vanek and Kelty Knight,
Starting point is 00:00:52 and we have a special episode because we're hoping that we have some new ladies Joining the gang. Yes. We set our community out into the streets, not literally figuratively, and we wanted them to bring their friends in. And we know what it's like to hear about a podcast, know that it's super popular, but it's been on for many years. So dropping right into it in the middle of it kind of feels like you've missed part of the series, if you will. So this is our way of introducing, reintroducing ourselves to you in case you're new so that you don't feel left out moving forward. Um, once you've joined the lady gang, which welcome to the coolest club in the world. Allow me to reintroduce myself. My name is well, there's Kelty. So what you guys
Starting point is 00:01:41 don't know about Kelty is she loves to sing. We're so excited for this episode. So why don't we start off with good week, bad week, Becca, please explain good week, bad week. And we're going to do our actual good week, bad weeks. And then we're going to talk about it later in the show, but okay. So good week, bad week is this thing that we've been doing since the beginning, where we basically share the best part of our week and the worst part of our week with each other and with you guys. So I will kick it off because it's time for good week. Yes, it is bad week. All right. So my bad week is this. And I felt like this was an appropriate thing to do because they're getting to know us. And this is really my truest form of me. So over the years
Starting point is 00:02:24 of Lady Gang, we're kind of like Apple. We started in a garage. We built it from there, but we're still kind of piecing it together and remembering that it's a real business with real employees. Thank God. Cause our employees keep our shit together and keep this running. Yeah. But you know, we haven't had this like infrastructure because for a while it was just a ton of group text messages and it can be very overwhelming. It's just constant. And then trying to go back and be like, but we mentioned this, but I need to find it. Well, whatever. Long story short is this past couple of weeks, we've started using something I like to call as demon Slack. Anyone that has a job in the world knows what Slack is. Of course. Yes. And every
Starting point is 00:03:12 time I heard people talking about Slack, I would think to myself, you poor idiot. You should have gotten a job that doesn't require you using Slack. Guess what? Fooled me. Now we're using Slack and I hate it. Now, why do you hate it? Because I hated it at first because it was a new thing, but now I'm loving it because then I don't get a text message and then have to decipher if it's a work thing or a fun thing. Here's why. Because at least with emails, you're in control of knowing when you look at that inbox. Or if you have a new email, you don't know. It's not in your brain, even though someone just sent you an email. It's like, oh, so you open it up and, oh, someone emailed me 15 minutes ago. Cool. For the last 15 minutes, I've been in bliss,
Starting point is 00:04:01 not even knowing it existed. But with Slack, I don't get to live in bliss anymore that things don't exist or things don't need my attention because it's constantly dinging and dinging and dinging and dinging. And it's, it's a lot. You should just turn off notifications and live in blissful life. No, do not turn off the notifications. But I do want to let you know that I have two other Slacks with our employees that I don't even include you guys on because i don't want it dinging you too much thank you you're getting there's a lot of getting a pulled back version of the dings okay fine fine fine all right i understand i understand i just like it because the but the dings used to exist in the form of a text message and then it was getting
Starting point is 00:04:44 muddled with all of my like exciting things that were non-work related you know yeah you need to separate because then i get a slack thing and i'm like fuck yeah exactly regular text message and I'm like, Ooh, who is it? Oh, fun party time. Yeah. You'll, you'll get into it. And Becky, you've also like in your defense, Becca is working in Vancouver right now. She's an actress. She's on a new Disney show. And so you're in like a super stressful period of your life where I can imagine learning lines and being on set and then also getting the dings of slack and like trying this new thing could be a lot. It's a lot us unemployed people over here. Like we are really living it. Yeah, I guess you're right. It is. It is. And maybe if I had less responsibilities
Starting point is 00:05:24 abilities right now but i'm i'm driving to work at like 5 a.m and i'm opening up my call sheet to see you know what time i have to be there where am i going what am i doing first oh the sides are sent i need to learn my lines and then it's like ding ding ding ding ding ding ding and kelsey's like what do you think of this picture and i just am ready to drive my car off the road so i understand it's a lot maybe a few slack groups that becca and i are and we can turn off the notifications. Yes. Yes. I agree. Okay. Silence them. Okay. Well, my good week is this. I thought this was also very appropriate for our, our newbies. I got a DM the other day that was, that said, I wish I'd saved it, but you know what? I, I cleared out my DM inbox because
Starting point is 00:06:05 everybody needs to know that I hate Instagram and I don't read DMs. Oh, that's a good thing for people to know. Um, I don't, I don't receive feedback, so I am who I am. Sorry. Um, I got a dm the other day that said does jack really hate kelty or is it just an act she puts on on the podcast no jack doesn't hate me what where do these things come from it's so funny because i don't feel that at all i know you both get in shit all the time for hating me you're like the best i know we love you so much yes maybe people just don't understand that you rag on the people that you love the most. Well, yes, we, you and I rag on the people we love the most. Kelty doesn't. And I think that's why it's because she's not dishing it out,
Starting point is 00:06:55 but she's taking it. But what they don't know in my own brain or on Slack, you dish it out to yourself. She dishes it out in other ways. But when Kelty loves you, the difference between the all of us is that when Kelty loves you, she's not ragging on you. She's actually building you up and making you feel amazing. Kind of like most people should do. If she doesn't like you, she won't even make eye contact with you. Right. Exactly. I don't even talk about the things that I hate. You just are dead to me. I do this. I don't bring you in my wheelhouse. Right. Yeah. So if Kelty even acknowledges your existence in life, you know that she, yeah. If I say hi to you, wink, wink, you're in, that means you're like literally my best friend.
Starting point is 00:07:34 It's true. Even when we have guests come on and she abruptly says, okay, we need to last question because we need to go. You're boring me. That means she loves them. It really does. Cause she wants them to have a good interview. Yes, that's true. You don't want it to drag on. So that was my good week. I didn't respond to the DM cause Hey, I don't respond to DMS, but here's your response. Jack doesn't hate Kelty at all. Listen, there's no way that lady gang could have been around for five years with any of us hating each other. It's not worth it. It would not be worth the because lady gang literally has taken over our entire lives in the best way possible so if we didn't get along this would have self-destructed long long ago yeah yeah jack
Starting point is 00:08:19 okay i'm gonna go um neither of my good week battery weeks really describe me as a person but i'm just gonna do them anyways that's what you think they might entirely describe you and you don't even know that's true um okay so my good week is now i am not a bravo person i am strictly like a bachelor uh dating shitty dating reality tv like a 90-day fiance married at first sight but my good week is and becca will be excited about this i think i know i started watching summer house i knew it and i am sucked in oh the weird thing is i started watching this season And then now I'm in the season before, and I'm just going to, I think, go backwards because that could be a fun experience.
Starting point is 00:09:02 Yeah. So I I've started now where Hannah is quite off her rocker with Luke situation. I wish this is the only thing though, is I wish that you had watched the season previous prior to this one to see the Hannah Luke evolution. Oh, but now I'm watching. I'm watching the beginning. It's kind of like, you know, that movie memento where he just experiences like five minutes, but then it goes backwards that I'm kind of living that for summer house. So I'm seeing, well, cause now I'm going back to the beginning of last season. I was
Starting point is 00:09:37 like, Oh, she was like, she had her boundaries. She was like, don't with me. And then now it is a whole different situation. But now I am kind of bummed because we've had numerous summer house guests on our podcast when I had no idea who they were. Well, I feel like I could have really we're gonna have more i can't wait to have carl talk about you'd have carl an evolution i went from loathing him to now i just love him so much he's so great in this season i love him and i've always had a crush on carl remember when you have he did that cameo for you yes he did uh super fans okay so my bad week is so uh i did an instagram sponsored post recently and not only me, but Jared did his first sponsored posts on Instagram. We got this
Starting point is 00:10:25 little facial thing together. We both posted about it. It was really cute. My bad week is he got more fucking likes on the picture than I did. And he has one 10th of the followers that I do. Well, in his defense, it is ridiculous to see him with his facial like that. Ridiculous. it's so amazing i actually wish that i could open up instagram and see more just like rugged straight dudes doing ads for facials but that's why i thought it was so good because it was so off brand that it was kind of cute he was there he's like what is this what am i doing he's like what's an exfoliate it was really exfoliate oh and for for new listeners jared is uh jack's girlfriend or girlfriend jack's boyfriend of 17 million years yeah we're gonna get engaged soon
Starting point is 00:11:21 it's it's happening soon but um hey jack not to like throw you a bone here but is that a starbucks cup you're drinking out of is that a new like did you go this morning jared did he got it for me well hey can i talk to jared for a second is here jared pelty wants to talk jared come on over oh i'm nervous hey jerry uh welcome to the gang i just wanted to let you know that uh once used plastics are not uh available anymore to us if you could just be making that coffee at home in a reusable cup i would appreciate you and your children appreciate you too thanks well tell say why i can't hear oh she's getting mad about oh hi guys i'm not happy about that reusable starbucks cup no but tell her why you went to starbucks oh i don't want to make noise you guys
Starting point is 00:12:04 a recording okay i forgive you he's being thoughtful and they you can't do reusable cups right now right what do you mean you have covid no you can't bring your grimy ass cup to starbucks and have them fill it up for you post covid jared i expect a reusable cup thank you solution yeah jared uses a reusable cup i hate to break it to you guys but the days of ever being able to do that in establishment are over forever okay it's it's gone you're gonna have to get your one-time plastic at starbucks from now on because there are things like pandemics that happen that is that is the new thing you know like after well never mind i'm not going to go into this but yeah i'm not going into it either but i do feel like i was being thoughtful he was you were
Starting point is 00:12:48 i was like why did you go to starbucks when we have our espresso he's like i didn't want to make any noise too loud the thing's so loud what a nice guy thank you for joining the game running a jamba juice right now i know he really is he could have walked that's making smoothies like in the middle of recording thank you for coming into the podcast jerry we love you thank you goodbye bye he got more likes than me on an instagram post okay um my okay so i have well my bad week is that that plastic cup but i will tell you my real bad week i'm sorry what kind of where what cup are you getting at starbucks there is no other option i don't go to play i don't i'm trying not to go to places that do once use plastic but i'm not i'm not calling you out on
Starting point is 00:13:28 that because I had a McDonald's yesterday that had a plastic top. So it's like, I'm just trying to, I mean, I did call you out on it and now I'm feeling guilty because I'm an imperfect person too. Call me out on it. Cause I will find something to call you out on. I know. I think we have bigger fish to fry. Yes. And my fish is this bad week. So I went and got a clear and brilliant, um, with Dr. Ava, who we went to before, uh, you know, just to like, you know, cause she's open again. A laser, like I went and got a laser. Right. And, um, on, I went to the century city location, which is like a mall here in LA. It's an outdoor mall. So it's open. So I walked down and then I, for the first time since last March went into a store, I went into the
Starting point is 00:14:14 Zara. I was like, let me just take a walk around. I had my mask on whatever they were like. Anyway, I went for the walk through Zara and I was like, huh, I don't know. This sweater is kind of cute. So I had it like hanging over my arm and then I caught a sight of myself in the mirror at Zara. I had to put the sweater back and immediately run out. I am officially at the Jennifer Gardner mom stage of my life. I was in a jean and a sneaker and a t-shirt that I thought was like, oh, this is chic. This is cool. I'm like Jennifer Aniston. I was not, I was Jen Gardner, like just and I'm not talking Jen Garner on a red carpet and she's beautiful like I love her but it was like that moment where you're officially so unfashionable that you need to leave even the
Starting point is 00:15:00 Zara but to be fair have you ever been extremely fashionable who you are acceptable no I don't know I thought I like I thought I kind of pulled together a casual jean t-shirt look okay but no i looked at i was like i'm not even appropriate for zara so that was how i felt should we share our ages too people may not know our ages i'm 21 i just turned 21 i just turned 35 kelty just turned 39 and jack is about to be 34 33 34 well okay three now i'm 33 i'm gonna turn 34 but do we want to do the thing where this last year didn't count and should we just say that now I'm turning 33. I'm 38. The pandemic year didn't count. No, it complicates things. No, because for all last year, I was like, I don't know how old I am. I don't ever know how old I am. I only know
Starting point is 00:15:51 that I'm 35 right now because it was such a big birthday. I feel like after you hit 30, it all kind of just downhills together. I'm thrilled for 40. I'm thrilled for the horizon of her. She's beautiful. Can I just tell you my good week? Because it is so juicy. I'm having an affair. oh my god with my digital rowing coach oh there so i got that hydro whatever like the rowing machine mostly for chris but i thought i would try it this guy like i know people i've seen on facebook for like the last year people are like i love this peloton instructor like do you take ali's class she's so great and i was like this is so lame this is like a video of a person i've never felt that passionate about a video of a person other than myself but so this is a pre-taped
Starting point is 00:16:41 it's not a live stream it is a pre-taped rowing that you do like 25 minutes of rowing he's so tall he's wearing a fun sock which i feel like it says a lot about a person i dated a guy who all he wore was fun socks i don't think i like a fun sock guy no reminds me of my ex-boyfriend so cute and he's rowing and so with rowing like there's not much to the workout right like you're just kind of going they're faster or slower you go fast you go slow and they're like they're trying to be peloton so they're like playing some rihanna in the background but he's telling me stories about his mom and growing up and baking and he's got a big leg muscle and you know like i love a sexual what's his name i don't want to say why i say everyone will look it over his name's josh um and he's so
Starting point is 00:17:27 i don't think anybody has this but then he was saying on he was talking about how he was trying to make it to the rio olympics on this on the um on the rowing team and he didn't make it but how that taught him so much about himself like i feel like i really know this guy like a completely recorded um thing so anyway i love you i'm having an affair with you when i'm like i'm gonna row today it's when i is this him no hold on oh this is i'm sorry i'm sorry his name's nick let me see nick nick is hot yeah nick is hot look at look at him in his fun socks rowing he's so i don't like the sock but i like the man muscles oh super fun here he is he's like he kind of he kind of looks like a little michael phelpsy
Starting point is 00:18:21 oh he's hot yeah he's real beefy he's so manly he's telling me about the time he didn't make the real olympics he wasn't telling you he was he was working and making money okay okay when we come back we're gonna talk about us now back to the lady gang okay welcome back so hang with the gang we are allowing ourselves to reintroduce ourselves and i have so many things to tell you because i went back and i listened to number one first episode ever of lady gang and there's a few things i'd like to bring up okay so our show's been known now as becca opens it with hello hello hello and welcome to the lady gang always forever this is all we do the first oh it used to be you i know i didn't remember and i used to say welcome welcome
Starting point is 00:19:13 welcome oh my god ew no the reason that so you used to open it up like that and then you would you conduct the interview. And most of the time, just for people who know the normal episodes are Kelty doing an interview with the guests and Jack and I are the peanut gallery. Yeah. We do. Jack will read questions from our listeners. Yeah. Like a dear Abby for podcasts. And then we realized after listening to about three episodes that you barely hear me speak. Asked my what happened. So we gave it you a job. Yes. So Kelty felt guilty for stealing the spotlight and she just threw me the welcome oh well you do a great job congratulations thank you so much um also at the beginning welcome welcome welcome i think dark shepherd opens his up like that i wonder where
Starting point is 00:20:05 you got that from welcome to armchair expert experts on experts i'm dan shepherd oh my god i've listened to so many so many episodes but that's how people feel about us yeah it's weird So our first episode, we were like, this is a show and it's based on our boozy brunches. And I wanted to bring up the fact that that's not what it's based on anymore. But also, do you remember for the first, I think, eight, nine, 10 months of our show, we used to legitimately drink a bottle of wine every show and we would be hammered, hammered. I know it was so fun. It was fun.
Starting point is 00:20:42 It was so fun. that. I do think that when we come to Austin for a fun gathering at Becca's, we should do some drinking podcasts. Yeah. We need to get drunk. But it was wild. Like we used to set a bottle on the table and like have glasses and like it was a whole shebang. Yeah. Well, here's why it was cool. Number one, we were the first, one of the first female podcasts, the first conversational girl topic, blah, blah, blah. So when people came to do the podcast, it was a novelty and the guests would come and there'd be candy and wine and it was so fun and every guest couldn't believe that they could do press without having a camera on their face and they could be in their sweats
Starting point is 00:21:20 well now every single mother in hollywood has a podcast so it's not fun anymore no i mean we have fun but it's not a novelty for the guest anymore so but i mean but having drinking while doing anything makes it more fun even if it's not a novelty so i think that we should bring it back Can we, whenever we record in person again, if that ever happens, probably not. Yeah, probably not. Jack, do you, okay. So good week, bad week, you just heard, but it's something we do every week. Do you happen to remember your first ever good week, bad week?
Starting point is 00:21:52 I do. And I can't remember if it was, so we, the first episode that we recorded wasn't the first one that we put out because we recorded Cheryl Burke first and then we recorded Allie Fedotowsky, but then we put Allie's out first. But I think my first good week bad week that I had said was my good week was that there is a sandwich named after me Yes Which I don't think that place exists. I can't believe you remember that and then my bad week was When I went to a halloween party, right? Is this what it was?
Starting point is 00:22:22 I went to a halloween party and I got wasted playing beer pong and this is when I was single and I texted every single Guy that was in my phone just hi period and there was like 20 text messages when I woke up the next morning to different men trying to have a booty call. Those were the days. It was so great. When you were single, it was a plethora of content. Well, it's just when I'm one of us is bound to be single again at some point. Exactly. I mean, yeah, statistically, statistically, one of us, half of us is going to be divorced. Well, when we first started the podcast, I was newly married to Chris. Becca was just starting to date Zach. Cause she used to run away on the weekends to Atlanta. Cause he was still
Starting point is 00:23:07 living in Atlanta and you were single. You hadn't even dated crazy yet. No, no, I've had, I've had two single periods on lady gang and they are, I just go buck wild when I'm single. I'm like, what I was going to say when I'm single, I'm single. And then when I'm in a relationship, I'm just really monogamous. There is, there is no in between. There's no in between. No, not at all Becca do you remember um your good week bad week from the first episode well I didn't write it down but I did write down something iconic that you said you were talking about this I think maybe opened the can of worms that has become lady gang you were talking about how your friend's dad gave the advice and said you know you found a good man when he'll go down on
Starting point is 00:23:52 you on your period? Your friend's dad? Yeah. Who said this? It was your friend's dad. And you were like, I was like, well, is he wrong? That is so wrong. I need to go back and listen. Clearly I block out anything traumatic because I cannot remember this at all. Perfect. And for my good week, bad week, I didn't write it. I didn't like keep it, but I just kept little notes about what I said, I was so annoying. I can't believe you guys even let me do the last five years. I was like, so I got to work at four 15 in the morning and I still do that. And I'm so annoying. I, I literally hate myself then. And I hate it now too. I hate it. I saw a meme the other day or something, or I don't know what it was. And it was something about, if you know someone dramatic,
Starting point is 00:24:46 please send this to them it's a car that's driving two miles per hour literally and a woman who throws herself against the car hits the rearview mirror and like rolls down to the ground and that is kelty night yeah everything's dramatic but i will say this whole era was like i get up so early i'm really glad that part of my life is over and i remember us starting the podcast so we could like have our own table and not get fired and live our lives the way we want to live them a little more And I will say I sounded miserable about that. I remember that feeling. I'm glad that I got up at 8am this morning. Well, you, in the beginning of our podcast, that was how you identified yourself. You identified yourself through, through waking up at 4am and having Hashimoto's. And that was
Starting point is 00:25:29 who Kelsey Knight was. And I think that even though you hated it, you needed that, you know? Yes. I agree. Yes. You needed that to grab on to. Cause who are you without that? You know, Who is she? All right. When we come back, we're going to describe ourselves. We're going to talk about some inside jokes. You're listening to The Lady Gang. All right.
Starting point is 00:25:55 This is going to be a little quick. I want to go through some of The Lady Gang inside jokes. So over the years, we want to catch you up to speed. And I'm just going to just kind of like I'll say them and then you guys can discuss where they came from or what it is. Okay. The dick is trash. ti ti came on our podcast yes said something i think a girl wrote in a question asking advice about should i stay with the guy and he said the dick is trash the dick is trash so now all we say
Starting point is 00:26:24 when a girl is with a guy that we don't like is the dick is trash get yourself a greg that was from an ask was it from an ask a lady gang question and it was a contacted us yeah remember greg contacted us on behalf of his girlfriend oh yeah and it was something sweet just to be like he wanted yeah he wanted to like for us to sign something or it was something super super sweet that he wrote in the lady gang about and then that became get yourself a greg find yourself a greg that will be this nice to you yes and not a travis and for some reason along the way we've decided that Travis is a dirtbag name. Yes. Literally, I will die on this hill. There is not a decent Travis out there. They're all assholes. All these guys. I do know one decent
Starting point is 00:27:16 Travis. He's married to my cousin. So she does not like it when we talk about Travis. Are you sure? I think they've been together a while now. He seems pretty solid, but he doesn't look like a Travis. You know what I mean? Yeah. Travis's all have dark hair. Does he have dark hair? I had a, I had an elementary Travis that I went to school with and he had a buzz cut and one long, a rat tail, a rat tail braid. Wow. Do you think those will come back? I hope so.
Starting point is 00:27:42 It's amazing. They're probably like Diplo will have one. Like ironically. Yeah. He probably already does. Probably. Okay. The iconic sayings pass the salt.
Starting point is 00:27:52 Use it in a complete sentence, Becca. Well, we don't really use it. You do. I know, but for the fun of the podcast. roll the tape roll the tape past the salt is when you're getting salty and talking shit then you say oh past the salt right is that a good way to explain and then and then if you're if you're salty and you find somebody else that you like to be salty with they're your salt mate like a soulmate yes yeah and then roll the tape jack you can use that in a complete sentence
Starting point is 00:28:21 um that i i've never used that in a complete sentence in my life that's also a you wow pass the salt see how i used it roll the tape is really obvious if you've ever watched housewives they always say well they stole it from us because we were first um but roll the tape is like when jack's like i didn't say that and i say roll the tape yeah she did say it got you in a lie bleak bleak bleak was i think a kelty thing he's just reusing it to describe something and just the story or whatever it was, was so bleak that it kind of just became the word to describe anything unfortunate in our lives. Yes. Yep. It's just my face. That's also a Kelty thing, isn't it? Well, Kelty's been through many faces, if you will.
Starting point is 00:29:15 And people in the beginning of this podcast were listening and then they would do what normal people do you go google image these voices because you're like i need to know what the fuck these people look like so people were finding out what we looked like and a lot of people would write in what's wrong with kelty's face yes many many people have done it i don't have it hasn't affected me at all i've only had like so much plastic surgery and new teeth since then but um you know it's been dark it'd be like what's wrong with kelty's face and then they're like oh my God, you look like Kathy Hilton. And then just like this last week, like Steven Tyler. And then I got my teeth done and a neck lift. And I was like, I'm going to do better. And then people
Starting point is 00:29:56 were like, you look like most low rivers who is beautiful, but she's 53. You know, it's like, it's so many things. Um, none of it's hurt my feelings. Thanks for being here for me. We are here to support you and all your faces. Thank you. Um, okay. Too lazy to be crazy. Too crazy to be lazy. Oh, that was a quote to be crazy. Too lazy that to be crazy was a quote that I had said, I think in the beginning of lady gang about, um, I think we're just talking about all the insane things that women do. And my personality is very, very chilled for the most part. And I don't have it in me to be crazy. So too lazy to be crazy. I made a, I made a flannel with that saying on it. It's out there somewhere. Oh, you do? Well, that doesn't really work for
Starting point is 00:30:37 guilty i'm sorry i mean she not at all too crazy to be lazy that's true that's you um i just want to give one that i just want people to know about that i made up it's called a klondike a day keeps the sads away and it's i love a klondike bar and i think that at night after you've lived your life you've done your workout you've eaten your vegetables you should absolutely just have a Klondike bar and then you're not sad. Now we have two. Klondike is so random. It's so Klondike bar. It's very vintage. I did not know. What do you do for a Klondike bar? Not much. What would you do? Okay. So now two, one new, and then one, when I would ask the Facebook group to like go through our inside jokes, we have a new contender that I want to just put out there
Starting point is 00:31:28 as a new new new for our old listeners okay vdv first i just want to like put that out there very dry vag no it's a no it's a dry ass dry ass we cannot have your vap get your vap garbage out of here it's been dap it's gonna be dap it's always gonna be dap yeah yeah dap was a i think yeah we've talked about that many times dap okay now this one's for you becca a late a couple ladies in the Facebook group said that we needed to add a new saying and it was going to be for Becca and they would like a t-shirt of it that just says devil's advocate here yeah it's perfect I would like to say that my devil's advocate has saved us from so many terrible lawsuits so apologies it can be so annoying but I think it's more valuable than it is annoying but I know it's
Starting point is 00:32:23 annoying i can't stand it when i say it it's the lawyer in her but it is a lawyer there's a reason but you're also like oh devil's advocate you're already it's already a disclaimer that you're pissed that you even have to say it yeah at least you're self-aware you could just jump right into being a dick but it's kind of you know i tease it the blow yeah all right so to finish up i wanted to ask everyone our favorite episodes, our favorite lady gang memory. And I was reminded of one that it's from our TV show. So we've had the podcast for five years. And in the middle of that, we filmed a series for E and it doesn't exist. They took off the internet. So you can't like rewatch it. So it's just like only probably better for our lives. Honestly, I don't think so too.
Starting point is 00:33:12 but do you remember when we had Nikki Glaser on and there was something about the shocker and then we all were giving the shocker names and one of them was two in the hoodie one in the two in the curtain one in the hurt oh my god I still think that's the funniest shit I've ever heard in my life I could cry right now and we were like just making them all up and it just Those, I will say the best moments of Lady Gang TV were the little interjection, intercuts, interstitial confessionals where Jen, our producer would plan the most insane things to have us pull up on the internet and just read because she had a crazy evil genius about putting things together and make it funny. My favorite moment was actually from the TV show as well when AJ McLean came in
Starting point is 00:34:07 and he was talking about his new music video and kelty's like well can i be the woman in your music video and he goes yeah you got a red dress and it cuts to an interview kelty is magically in a red dress doing a sexual chair dance like because you know from the um from the um you know the you are my fire video when they always do like in the 90s every boy band did a sexual chair dance okay and then i'm gonna jump on top of that into my favorite memory of the lady gang which also involves AJ because when he was on the, on the show, he invited us to go to their residency,
Starting point is 00:34:42 but the only available date was the next day. Yeah. But the flight that. We were so tired. What were we doing? Exhausted, flew to Vegas to see them perform. And then they brought Kelty on stage to,
Starting point is 00:34:56 to serenade her. And the way that she reacted to this situation, I, it still shocks me to think about. it. Describe it. Describe it. Well, a backstory about Kelty, for those of you who don't know who she is, probably most of you, she, I'm just kidding. She has interviewed on Entertainment Tonight, the most famous people ever. Pretty much anybody super famous. She has had a one-on-one conversation, a sit down, a whatever at a junket. She told Harrison Ford that he was a zaddy or
Starting point is 00:35:32 something. Oh my God. A snack. So it just, it's so weird when Kelty has fan moments because it's about weird things. So Jack and I were backstage before the concert started with Kelty and AJ pulled us aside and he was like, Hey, I'm pulling Kelty up for this part in the show where we pull a fan up. Don't tell her, but just know that it's coming. So we're watching the show. Kelty's already acting like she was one of sweepstakes being in concert and then suddenly they start making their way down the aisle making their way down the aisle and then they come and grab kelty and it is as if she was from middle of nowhere yep america 14 years old in the early 2000s like it was like you were on the show fanatic she was she was shaking shaking shaking shaking couldn't
Starting point is 00:36:27 control her her limbs and they pull her on stage and then create you weren't even acting like you were this was truly genuine it was so weird i've never seen a fan moment like it in my life in my whole life oh that was so amazing all right so if you could describe let's let's have two words from each member of the lady gang to describe the other one before we go so let's start jack because she's in my upper corner jack and kelty will describe becca devil's advocate oh that's my job title that's not my characteristic devil's advocate that's not my job title i think becca's job in the lady gang is like the voice of reason yeah but she has like a super passionate love of housewives and she's not really into pop culture
Starting point is 00:37:24 which makes her fun to be into pop culture because she doesn't go down the rabbit hole like we do except if it's about certain little things like she really gets involved with certain things and then not other things i guess that's everyone on there are you saying that i'm involved in pop culture because i don't i'm i have we're not describing you jack please describe becca but you said like, like we do. I'm like, I think she means we, as in her and the listeners. Oh, thank you. Um, Becca is also the reason why the lady gang, I think this is why the lady gang has taken the, uh, road that it's taken tonally. I think because back in the beginning of the lady gang, Becca opened up the door to us being honest and crass about everything that we do and experience
Starting point is 00:38:20 as ladies. And I think that it's just so funny looking back at the beginning of our podcast. And I actually looked at our bio on our podcast that we need to change because it's like, what it's like under the bright lights of Hollywood talking to celebrities, which is not what our podcast is at all anymore. But that's what it started as. And I think the first step of us kind of going into this, like experiencing womanhood and being so honest about it was because of Becca. It's great. And I also think that the podcast, if you're a new listener, welcome, you're coming at a good time. We had some growing pains, the people that have stuck with us. Thank you so much. But like, I think we're making our best episodes now. I agree. Wow.
Starting point is 00:39:01 okay let's do jack becca well jack is a creative marvel so she is the person who has made aesthetically the brand of the lady gang which i think is a very very very large part of the success of the brand because if we had this bomb podcast with a really shitty logo that me kelty dreamed up it would be andrew it yeah the original the original logo for the lady gang was this like hand drawing of the three of us with this terrible was it yeah somebody did it i don't remember don't be rude to the person that drew no the drawing was actually really cool because it was this it looked like a model sketch yeah remember like a model sketch i have it we can post it. But anyways, and then I think that somebody tried to make, somebody sent us a logo
Starting point is 00:39:57 and I was like, no, no, no, no. I'll do this myself. So Jack is like the brains behind that whole thing. Um, do it two words. No, I mean, whatever you can just describe her. Um, and then Jack is very, um, compassionate and sensitive. She's sensitive to other people's feelings and sensitive about her own feelings she's probably the yeah she's like she's our delicate flower in the form of a retired emo kid does that make sense who it's like she loves sad music and so she's really in tune with the feelings so she's always like doesn't want to make people feel uncomfortable she wants everyone to just feel like happy and joyous and good including herself i want to be i want to have a good time you know yes we should have a good time i was an only child
Starting point is 00:40:53 everyone should know that too it's very important very important i would say jack what i think is so funny is that she is like when you said retired emo kid becca it made me think so much about it is the core of who jack is she she's she's never into the onion she's she's into the side thing. She's like, I will not go normal. I will go leopard hair. I will be like of the, what do you like the rebel, the rebel antithesis, anti everything, right? Like anti anti, but over the course of this podcast, she's become so anti that the things that started as anti have now become mainstream. So like, she was always a fan of bachelor nation. She was always a fan of true crime, which is now like the hottest thing. She's like, I watch all the dating shows. I'm like,
Starting point is 00:41:40 she's more into pop culture than I am, but like, she's like, I hate pop culture. I know nothing about nothing. She knows nothing about George Clooney, but she is definitely at the forefront of pop culture. I don't like, I don't like celebrities, but I like, I like reality show contestants. Zeitgeist. Zeitgeist. She's like the one that's on Reddit. That's the figuring out the so anyway i'm sleuthing all the time okay kelty i mean kelty is the backbone of the lady gang i mean yeah we would not exist without kelty becca and i are too lazy to actually keep something you know what is crazy is that we have kept this going for so long especially and i don't think it's crazy that we've done it
Starting point is 00:42:23 but the fact that you see all these other people starting podcasts and then ending podcasts because podcasting is not as easy as it seems. And especially if you're trying to grow any type of a brand beyond just talking for an hour a week. But the reason why we've become so successful, of course, Becca and I have inserted our things into it, but Kelty is the driving force and the backbone behind literally everything that we do. She's like, if you're making a cake. Kelty's definitely the flour. I'm the flour. And Jack and I are maybe the sprinkles and the egg. It's like a chocolate chip. Like someone's got to keep together. Sorry. Yeah. Anyway, we're so happy you're here. We didn't say that many nice things about you.
Starting point is 00:43:15 I also think Kelty is the quirkiest person I've ever met in my whole life. The things that come out of her mouth are you can't even write it like the greatest television screen play anything you've ever seen fictionalized character no one has ever created a more interesting dynamic character like kelty knight they're just it does not exist no and you can't even like you can't even craft it after you you're so unique the most unique i laugh when i think about kelsey so do i she's a fucking entertainment 24 7 if i could follow one person around for a day and not know well she wouldn't even know if i was there but if i could follow you around for a whole day if i still we're still trying to figure you out you know jack and i don't know what you do
Starting point is 00:44:10 all day. You are working all day, but we don't know what you're doing because we're, we just don't, we're not sure if there's any work left to be done, but you find it. Yeah. Yeah. We're working all day. Like I work on lady gang five to eight hours a day, like just sitting here and I'm like doing accounting and making emails and figuring out ads and blah, blah, blah. Like we just go, we just go. But it's like, I'm happy to do that stuff because it makes me so happy. and I think that I think that that's what my purpose is you love to work thank god for us because Jack and I certainly don't nope well we hope that everyone enjoyed this episode and we hope that all of our longtime listeners will bring a friend to the gang so that we can grow and take
Starting point is 00:44:52 over the whole world um so if you're listening to this and you haven't posted on your social media this is like our one begging in five years like go leave us a review post this on social media tell your friends send in a text message to five friends if you don't have any friends send it to your dog walker like send it to someone in hopes that we can grow the gang and we would be mucho appreciato because we are just three chicks just trying to make make a world a little brighter yeah and also if you if there are people that you want to hear on the podcast go stalk them on social media yeah your favorite celebrity maybe we'll have them on love it yeehaw and we always end our episodes with this.
