Starting point is 00:00:00 well what is this welcome to the lady gang that's amazing say that again the lady gang things are about to change around here each week we catch up with hollywood's hottest girl posse kelty knight becca tobin and jack vanik hello hello hello welcome to lady gang i am becca tobin here with jack vanik and kelty knight hello my favorite thing of lady gang is when we get on and we're doing like our little last looks and you know we do last looks here at lady gang but like we're figuring out the tech or whatever and then we have so much gossip that we're just we gotta like 10 do 10 minutes of full gossip and then we're like we'll talk about it on the show here we're you're getting one of those shows today lady gang which is my favorite
Starting point is 00:00:45 the tea is being spilled okay it's time for good week yes it is bad week oh no um my good week is I shipped out all of my mail club orders, my happy hour mail club orders. And I am just so happy about it. Did you have the, I saw you had the, um, sweat shop in your house with your parents and Jared. Yeah. I had all of my unpaid workers with me, my parents and Jared, and we shipped out 638 orders. Wow. I know it was crazy. Um, I'm just like so excited. I like launched it literally it was like how we launched the lady box. Yeah. It was like, here's an idea made out of air. I'm showing you nothing. I'm giving you, I'm selling you on a hope and a dream. And I'm just so excited that so many people like gave into my idea and believed in what I was
Starting point is 00:01:39 doing. I'm so excited about it. And I just like have so much fun doing it. And it's very stressful because it never ends because now once I ship it out, now I have to plan the next month and I have to order the stuff for the next month. And it's just kind of nonstop stress, but it's just cool because I get to do anything that I want. I wrote like a really pretty letter to everybody that signed up and it's just really fun. And it's like my new little passion project. It's like an old school sub stack. Yeah. Well, that's what it is kind of cool. Cause I'm like, I get to like flex my writing muscle and well with sub stack, I think it's so, I mean, I love the fact that people will pay to read people's writing because it's like people used to back in the day with
Starting point is 00:02:21 publications and stuff. So I think it's really a cool way to support writers. But I feel like I'd have to give something more than just having a sub stack. So it's kind of like a mini sub stack with lots of other little presents. I think that I'm renaming Jack Judith. And Judith is actually like an 83-year-old woman. I just want to say something. It's been 10 years of lady gang and when i was like randomly calling jack being like oh this super cool girl like we need her she's really cool and through all the levels of jack the naked pants the bikinis the windbreakers the no bra on lady gang tv like all the cool girl shit jack has reverted into judith she bought a house and she became judith judith is showing us these christmas ornaments that jack
Starting point is 00:03:13 is collecting on her Instagram are like, they are made in the wee town of Scotland. And they are like little gnomes. They are gnomes. They are the things that your grandmother handed down from her grandmother and she's buying them new. She's collect, she's so excited about her house decorations, her writing a handwritten letter. Judith, welcome to the lady gang. yeah i really have like two sides to me yes i have like the slut and the grandma and there's no in between it's true it's i mean i jared calls me the grandma because i after the sun goes down like in the winter time it's like four and i'm like i'm in pajamas i'm doing nothing like this is i'm getting cozy on the couch and doing a craft and that's just kind of where i live but
Starting point is 00:04:02 then i will also party my face off so it's like there i live in the extremes you know Mm-hmm. It's good. It's a balance. Work hard, play hard. Exactly. I would like to just pitch an idea to you. Ford actually loves going to the mailbox and getting our mail. And every once in a while, there's something in there that I can pretend was sent to him because it has a car on it. Or one day, we got something from Disney. And I was like, oh my gosh, you got Mickey mail. So then I created this whole monster and now he like wants mail for himself. So if you want to collaborate, we could do a kid's mail club because I think
Starting point is 00:04:46 that they would get a real kick out of it. This is a great idea. Yeah, it's a really good idea. I'll tell you why. Because Auntie Kelty, I have no skills with family, but this is something I've been doing forever for all of my nieces and nephews. And I use niece and nephew very largely, like there's like 15 of them all around the world, like all my friends' kids. And I literally carry international and regular stamps in my passport holder when I travel. And everywhere I go, I buy like 15 postcards and I send them. I've sent, and like kids love to get the mail. They feel so, I think you're really right. Should we do it, Jack? I've actually had a couple people ask me to do that. They're like, a kid's version would be so
Starting point is 00:05:26 cool. Let's do it. And make it like super inexpensive. So it's like just something is coming every week or two weeks and you would have different themes. It's like a bark box for children, but not a box. Who is doing this work? Because I don't have the time. I will do the shipping sweatshop. Okay. And I will pitch to you the ideas for every month. So I think all I need from you is like the execution to make it cute. The design. Okay. I could do this kind of collaboration we could do like an age group and a gender so it could be like you know ford loves cars and all the things and there could be like a little like um coloring book page where they can like you know that's what i put in mind i have a little coloring book and that's so smart you guys
Starting point is 00:06:13 are so smart oh yeah i can't wait to not do any of that work enjoy it'll be great um okay what's your bad wait sorry also good week can we get an update on your blood do you feel good oh i don't know. I mean, I got my last infusion like five days ago. I think it's supposed to take a little bit of time. Three weeks. I don't know. Like, yeah, I don't have a tan right now because you have more color in your face. No, I don't. I think it just might be I'm on the warm ring light right now because I just looked at my face in the mirror and I was like, God damn, you are pasty as hell. You need a spray tan. Yeah, I don't know. I didn't feel bad from the infusions, which is good. like i didn't because i've seen people be like totally wiped out from it um but we'll see my like
Starting point is 00:07:02 a big uh symptom that i was having is i have like terrible heart palpitations yeah especially when i go like into altitude so i'm going to big bear for new year's i'm interested to see if they go away because that's i mean a huge like grandma judith heading on to big bear she's going to knit by the fire and you know make some shocks and then she's gonna hardball whiskey from someone else's tit um okay so my bad week is jared and i did our annual jc penny photo shoot which was incredible like always and i kind of just booked it i was like i'm just you know obviously we've done this before like i know i know the deal we go to take the pictures number one they only gave us 10 minutes. And I'm like, I remember this being longer. I remember getting a little bit longer
Starting point is 00:07:53 than 10 minutes for a whole entire photo shoot. But we get in there, we get the pictures, whatever. And then we go to pay. And the lady at the JCPenney place, they're upselling you. They're like, buy this package, get this poster for your wall. Do you want mugs? Do you want mouse pads? Whatever. So she's selling me on this package. And she's like, oh, there's a package of a couple pictures and that that one's 485 and i was like dollars 485 dollars and she's really jc penny or is it like jc oh no it's jc it is i didn't know they were still in business inflation man penny i mean there's like the closest one to us is like 35 minutes away they used to have one at our local mall but i was like excuse 485 dollars and then i was like no and i'm like i definitely remember
Starting point is 00:08:41 last year we got a package and the whole entire package was like two 50, but whatever. So I was like, okay, just, you know, we'll just take the digital pictures. That's all I really want. And she's like, okay, well, um, basically to, to have the photo shoe is $230. And then for every person in the photo shoe is another $30. So you can't even go like they're charging. If you have a family of five that is 150 extra dollars just for being there so anyways jc penny photo shoot inflation is out of control i ended up paying 300 for eight pictures also like and then you had to like weasel them about the money and then you're in that stupid ass costume i know i love you but you can hire a freelance photographer for around that that's exactly what i said ai that
Starting point is 00:09:31 photo yes i was like you should just ai it from now on i will because i'm like this is insane and it was packed packed with big families no this is a thousand dollar 10 minute outing for you people you guys should set one up in orange county yes well they do have those like photo but you know when like we have all of our merch pics that i take yeah they have like so it's like a self portrait photo studio that they give you a little clicker but it's all professional and the camera and the lighting. And I'm like, I need one of those with a background. Cause I'm like, that's all we needed to do. Like I could have taken the photos and they would have been way better because the guy, but it was the whole thing about it's a whole thing, Penny. It's got
Starting point is 00:10:15 that like, Ooh, a little bit of that smudgy on it. And you're just like, it's the vibe. Like, well, JC Penny, you blew it. You could have been viral. If you were offering these for a hundred dollars for 20 minutes, like that guy that we did the Christmas box at, I know Tom's one hour photo. mom's one hour photo, you could be viral and you could have lines for days, but they do have lines for days. That's the craziest thing. It was completely booked out with huge families. I'm like, this is nuts. It was insane. Anyway, like I need to look up my receipt from last time. Cause I was like, that price has tripled and I am blown away at JC Penny, like terrible. Rebecca. Okay. So, um, my good week is that, um, I have officially
Starting point is 00:11:06 planned my 40th birthday. Did I tell you guys that I had made the plan? No, I don't think so. The last time we spoke, you said you didn't know what to do and you were confused and you want to do something, but nothing. And yeah. Yeah. So I've just decided that I'm going to go to New York with Zach for the weekend because I feel like, you know, I was thinking about places that we could go that weren't too far away because it's only the weekend and there's really no other like city in the country that I feel as good and energized in. And I don't want to do the spa thing on my normal birthdays. I'll usually go to the spa for the day, but that's like very low vibes, you know, low vibrations, definitely low vibrations. So that's
Starting point is 00:11:54 what I'm doing. And I'm excited. And Zach's making all the plans because I refuse to. And I'm just it was the right choice. Hopefully stay tuned. But it feels like the right choice. I love that. Are you guys going to like what's the vibe? Are you going to be like out and about? Are you going to be like a show and a dinner? Well, the good thing is I was recently in New York. So I was able to like see chess and I was able, and that's like the one thing that I felt like I, like I needed to do, not needed to do, wanted to do the next time I was in New York. So it was going to be the weekend of my birthday. But then because I ended up going early, I like checked the box. I got to see it. And also like Zach is not a musical person. So I,
Starting point is 00:12:39 even though it is my birthday, I wouldn't want to like put them through two musicals in one weekend type of thing. Yeah. So it's going to be more of a downtown shopping, really good dinners, um, just like free and fun and flirty. Hell yeah. Free, fun, flirty forties. Yes. And you know what? This is perfect for you, Becca, because not to success coach you or anything, but like you, this is at your core there's such a big piece of you that is that girl that is like that New Yorker
Starting point is 00:13:14 and it's a perfect time to celebrate that leave your baby leave Atlanta leave the LA Becca revert back to get a coffee
Starting point is 00:13:25 and walk hand in hand around Central Park and just like be around the energy of the city and like celebrate the fact of like
Starting point is 00:13:32 where you started and where you've come from like it's a it's a beautiful journey I'm excited. I love it. I think that's perfect. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:40 And the outfits, and it's like winter, so you can like layer, which is like your favorite. Yep. I hope it doesn't – I hope it's not like gross weather. I hope it's just like cold and dry. Yeah, cold, dry layers. I do need to buy a new really chic coat because I feel like I don't have that anymore in my repertoire. I live in Texas, and then L.A. I never wore them. So maybe that'll be like on the list of like the first thing I do when I get there, you
Starting point is 00:14:08 know, and then I can like always think of that as like my 40th birthday gift. Your 40th, yeah. They have, I mean, you probably want something nicer, but when I was just there, the mango on Fifth Avenue will f*** you up. Okay. I just can't shop on Fifth Avenue when I'm there. It's chaos. Oh, the mango was, I mean, it's chaos, but like it was, they have good stuff.
Starting point is 00:14:31 I do love mango. I love, you know who has mango? mango Macy's has. Yeah. I, anytime I need something for like a baby shower or God, I go to so many baby showers, like a dinner, a chic dinner, or like, it just fits that like elevated, um, tailored basics type thing. It is like, it's like more elevated Zara. Yeah. Yes. And not everybody's going to have it. And so, and I actually think that like Macy's gets their own mango peaches. Especially they're like exclusives.
Starting point is 00:15:06 I think they do from what I've gathered. Anyways, yeah, mango's great. I'm excited for you in New York. Thanks. Yeah, that'll be great. I'm excited. Okay, my bad week is that I do not understand the world. Where are we, guys?
Starting point is 00:15:21 How on earth is there a setting on Instagram that your notifications are turned off? Have you seen on DMs with people, you'll DM them and it'll be like, so-and-so has their notification silenced. Yeah. On Instagram or across your whole phone? Instagram. It's like a silent, like, you know, when your texts are silent.
Starting point is 00:15:47 I don't think I have my, like, I don't get a notification when someone DMs me. Well, your settings are probably different. Like when you have a lot of followers, you don't want to have a note. you don't want to get a ding every time someone DMs you. But even still, even still, if you have 10 followers, like why on earth are we turning on notifications for Instagram? Oh, like why would they even exist in the first place? Why would they exist? And number two, why would you feel the need just turn them off on your phone? Like, I don't understand this. Like, so all these things are silenced. Who is that for? Is it because when I send a funny meme to my friend Megan, not that
Starting point is 00:16:25 hers are silenced. But like, I'm like, oh, she has them, her notifications silenced. So I won't be offended that she doesn't get back to me immediately. Why are we, why? We're not silencing things for you, Becca. We're silencing them for us because when I'm podcasting, I need to not have dings. But why are you having your notifications on at all? Oh, to tell people. She doesn't get the notifications. Like, why do we have, but also it's like a double whammy. Why do we have them? it should just go or not go. You don't fucking care. It should just, yeah. And it's just so, it's so weird to me. I'm like, why do we have to have all of these like disclaimers every time we can't get back to somebody right away? Just assume that I'm not getting back to you right away. And
Starting point is 00:17:10 that brings me to my second point. I have refused. I've started to refuse to respond to people I actually know on DM? I never respond to anybody on DMs, anybody ever. I'm not doing it anymore. I just, it's like, I'm not even opening them anymore. My whole business model is a DM relationship. With people you don't know? People I don't know and people I do know. Like we don't exchange phone numbers anymore. but like I was at this party last night
Starting point is 00:17:47 and I was like I'll DM you because it's so much easier to find someone and just DM them on Instagram than it is to like exchange phone numbers
Starting point is 00:17:54 and blah blah blah and then it's less formal it's less formal it's like I don't want to be a real friend you know what I mean but I don't want to communicate with people
Starting point is 00:18:01 at all unless we're real friends that is the difference between you and I that is that is I don't I don't want to meet you
Starting point is 00:18:09 at a party and I don't want to exchange information unless we've really like hit it off and we're gonna be genuine friends. Like I don't want to have these like weird casual acquaintances on Instagram. But what do you do when the person's like, we should, like last night I was sitting next to
Starting point is 00:18:23 this woman and she's starting a podcast and she's like, oh, can I grab your number? I'd love to like pick your brain. And I'm like, well, I can't be like, no, I don't give out my phone number. So I said, just DM me on Instagram. You're letting somebody, I don't know. You're going to let somebody pick your brain for free? I'm not, but I didn't want to say I don't let people pick my brain for free. Like I didn't want to be a dick. You've got to stop picking brains people. Yeah. Don't pick my brain. Now back to the lady gang. My bad week is that as you know, not to get all sconcey on you, but I'm about to sell my house and move to an apartment. Um, I am so sick of being a homeowner. I'm done. I got sold an American dream. I'm now homeowner. Everything's
Starting point is 00:19:09 breaking. If you're new to this podcast, I have recently spent $30,000 fixing a hole in my roof, which is horrific. And a few months ago before Thanksgiving, my fridge quit and I had to go through insurance. It was going to be like $3,000 to fix it. I was like, I'll go through insurance, but they couldn't come until December 8th. So what happens? I wait three weeks for December 8th to come. Man, Caesar, not my Caesar, a different Caesar shows up in the morning and I'm like, great. Today is the day I can have a carrot stick again. Nope. He gets there after I waited three weeks and he was like, this is a two-man job. They only put a one man on the invoice. We cannot fix it today. And I was like, great. Well, when will you be back tomorrow? And he said,
Starting point is 00:19:54 our next appointment for two men is December 26th. I have not had a fridge for two months. Why don't you get a task rabbit? You can't because it's like the compressor. It's a whole thing, jack you'll get into it once your house starts breaking when you go to insurance you use those people it's a whole nightmare insurance what it's through insurance yeah because it's three thousand dollars and i don't want to pay it yeah this is the first time in my adult life that i'm like i think i need to start selling shit like i am you just um go on instagram and like beg some refrigerator companies to send you a new refrigerator for free and you'll post about it but then I have to wait for the like the fridge to come in and out like I mean yeah sure and this
Starting point is 00:20:37 fridge I got for free I know but you could probably get another one but it won't match I mean there's just so many things I'm just champagne problems get a mini get a mini fridge for now I have my mini fridge my wine fridge it doesn't go quite as cold but it's like sometimes I like to make a mrs. Stouffer's apple pie and fridge in your in your uh that's a freezer oh it's only a freezer in your garage? Yes. Just throw some shit in your little bubble ice thing. I mean, I am doing all of those things, but it's not enjoyable.
Starting point is 00:21:09 Like, I had to throw up my salsa. Okay. Anyway. All right. Sorry. My good week is that, as you guys know, I'm super social now. And I got invited to something. Super social.
Starting point is 00:21:20 Oh. I go to things. And I got invited to Kathy Hilton's house last night for a party. Now, it's not that special because Kathy Hilton literally has a party every night. So don't think I was like fancy, but I did get invited. And then I almost pulled out and said, I don't want to go at the last minute. But then I was like, no, don't be that person. So we were celebrating Cindy Eckert, who makes the pharmaceutical Addy.
Starting point is 00:21:43 She's been on the podcast before. She has a new documentary all about this pink pill. And Kathy was throwing a thing in her honor. We went. It was great. Saw lots of people. It was super fun. But the best part about it was like just being in Kathy Hilton's house.
Starting point is 00:21:58 and I'm going to talk about it. I don't know if this puts me in like a, like a bad place, but like this woman has so many Christmas trees. It is like, you know, you're rich Jack. It is what Judith aims to be. She has, you come in, there is a tree that is so it's probably two stories high to the left. So beautiful, pink, gorgeous, like designer tree, the presence under this tree. I think she collects them for charity. None of them were wrapped, so I feel like it's part of her Christmas party thing. Anyway, amazing. People serving little canapes.
Starting point is 00:22:35 You go into one side room. Then she has a room of Christmas that is – sorry to do this to you, Jewish Becca, but – That's fine. She has a room of Christmas that is like Jack, Judith's traditional Christmas room. So it's a tree and a room where she puts all the shit from her family, like the stuff Paris made in like kindergarten and like all of the ugly stuff. And it's like that red, green, yellow of like Christmas's past, like tacky, traditional. Then you go downstairs and everything's like crazy designer. There's balloons on the roof.
Starting point is 00:23:11 Like it is just so fabulous. And I'm like, who needs to go to like the museum or the botanical gardens for the drive through of the holiday season when you can just go to Kathy Hilton's house. Now the greatest thing about Kathy, two things that happened that are so Kathy, it was like, I was in a real episode of housewives. So I was like, Hey Kathy, Cindy was like, let's get a picture with Kelty. And, and, uh, she was like, let's get a picture with Kelty. We're going to put it up on E. And I was like, great. Um, the publicist. So Kathy like pulls out her makeup bag and she's like, she's fixing her hair and she goes, oh yeah, no, I'm doing something with you guys later this week. And I was like, oh really? Who with? And she goes, oh, with this
Starting point is 00:23:54 guy. And I was like, oh, that's ET. And she goes, oh yeah, they're the best. And then she goes on for like three minutes about how her favorite interviewer is Bryce from entertainment tonight. Oh my god, he's so great. He always knows his stuff and like he doesn't trick you and like it's just the best interview ever And I was like you really you yes, okay And then she was like and I was like, do you have tinsel highlights in your hair? And she's like, yes, I did the call her daddy um festival and you know, and then I got I did the call her daddy podcast and then I got invited to the festival and Um, she gave me tinsel hair and oh my god
Starting point is 00:24:30 It is the best podcast in the world and she just went on and on and on And I literally was like I looked at andy standing right here I was literally looking at andy gelb who's her publicist I was like i've only asked for kathy to be on lady gang for 10 years Like I was just like I don't want to be here anymore. But anyway, she was beautiful She's so pretty in real life. You don't see it on the podcast. I are on the show I think she doesn't give a and so she doesn't like do the glam that the other girls do so she ends up looking ugly But she's not ugly. She's beautiful
Starting point is 00:24:58 I don't think she looks ugly on the show. She's always just a little disheveled Yeah. She was very put together last night, like beautiful skin, beautiful hair, like just living her best rich life. And then, can I tell you a little bit more tea? Yeah, please. I sat next to a woman who was involved in the college admissions scandal. Oh my God. You know what's so funny? It wasn't Lori Loughlin. It was like, not a no name, but like another one of the women. And she got pulled into it because she did it. She worked with the guy, Marty Singer, Jay Singer, whatever. and she got pulled into it but it became a big story because the famous people were involved
Starting point is 00:25:36 but she's not famous she was like a ceo i saw a meme about that the other day and they're like can we all just collectively agree that that wasn't that big of a deal that's what i said to her because it's like i mean i mean we know so much more now just in life and how like rich people work and just like buy their way into anything but like if that happened now nobody would give a that's why i was like if it was a bunch of guys that did it if it was men on the golf course and they were all doing it, it wouldn't have been a thing. It's very true. I'm like, what's the difference of photoshopping your daughter on the rowing team and like donating millions of dollars to do a wing in the college that your kid's too dumb to get it accepted to,
Starting point is 00:26:14 but that gets them in. I mean, people have been doing this since the beginning of college time. Can I tell you a little bit inside information? Are you interested in that? Sure. Sure. Okay. So she told me that the way they got you, I don't even know if this came out. The way they got you is that basically like a friend of hers was like, oh my God, what are you doing for John for college? And she's like, oh, you know, his math scores are bad, but like, we're going to figure it out. And she's like, oh, you haven't hired a consultant. And she was like, no, do I need to? And she's like, yes. And so she interviewed two and one was like in Brentwood and one was on the West side. And she was like, I want the one that's closer to me. I don't want to drive across town. That's
Starting point is 00:26:51 literally how she picked the guy that ended up her in jail. So then he basically comes to your house and he looks over everything and he's like, you're not going to get accepted to any college with these scores and then gaslights you. And then later the colleges were like, we, cause he ended up getting into a real college and they were like, you would have gotten in here. Like, you know, anyway. So then she told me, um, that actually, I think you probably know this if you followed it, But, like, lying on the SAT or whatever and, like, paying – bribing the proctor to change your scores or whatever is not a felony. What the felony was was that they put the test results in the mail. And because they mailed the fraud –
Starting point is 00:27:33 Mail fraud. That's what they went to jail for. Mail fraud. That's so crazy. I love how, like, the loopholes of the justice system, you know? Whoa. I was like, mail fraud? crazy. Be careful what you put in the mail people. Anyway. No, are you done? I think so.
Starting point is 00:27:51 No, but I was just going to say, can we, in the same vein, can we discuss the fact that Diddy really is only spending like 50 days in prison or something or 50 months in prison? I mean, don't get me started. Don't get me started. I didn't even realize until I was watching the 50 cent documentary and it was every time. How is it? Should I watch it? Um, yeah, there's like, there's like stuff we already knew and then stuff that's like not that interesting and then stuff that actually is it's like yeah and stuff that they completely didn't even acknowledge but it is 50 cent did it and you know 50 cent has the longest grudge of all time against diddy so it's like the way that he presented things it's like this so they interviewed two of the jurors
Starting point is 00:28:32 because these jurors are idiots and the two that they interviewed it's like he's so smart because one of the jurors outed herself as a fan but like i'm pretty sure when they were interviewing she's like i don't know anything about diddy so she says on the on the interview she's like yeah did he would like kind of like like nod his head like he did on making the band and it's like you shouldn't have watched making the band if you are going to be an unbiased juror and then the other guy that they interviewed the juror was like he said um why didn't cassie just leave like he she was like sending him lovey notes afterwards why didn't he leave if he was abusing her why didn't he she just leave and I'm like this is insane like this is absolutely insane so
Starting point is 00:29:15 basically it's like these jurors are literally like it's pretty nuts but it's like little it's like nuanced things that he like did in there and he basically also like proved to everybody that Diddy was just like a loser that was jealous of everybody like he wasn't like I mean he is little evil to his core. Yeah. He's also like a loser. And all he was just jealous of people jumped on their songs. And then like, everybody's like, I just realized that I don't know a single Diddy song. Right. What's a Diddy song? Right. Other than the one that he wrote about Biggie that he made Biggie pay for his own funeral and then like walked all over his grave. Other than that one, it's like, yeah, what's a Diddy song? He did do a beautiful job of making him look like a
Starting point is 00:29:59 complete loser. Yeah. And like, he's certainly not like a sexy villain, you know, he just made him look like a loser. That was also a bad person. Yeah. Which, yeah, it's like, what if loser, I'm going to tell you something and you guys know this already. Most of the people that are like that successful are losers. Oh yeah. Cause it's like, they're all just jealous. Like that's all he was jealous of Tupac and Biggie and then he killed them. Well, I'm not going to kill anyone, but like, I know that in my soul, I have what it takes to be very successful. But when you peel back the onion at the bottom of her is just a try hard loser. And unfortunately, like the people that are like real humans and that are lovely and cool, actually cool. They never reached
Starting point is 00:30:47 the level of success that is like that level because they're not up enough. They're not like desperate enough to do what it takes to get to that level. You know what I mean? I completely agree. And that's why I don't think that there are any good people that are billionaires. Like I think every billionaire is pretty much an evil person for some reason or another. But I do have to say there are people who become billionaires by like very weird things like, like tech, not Facebook tech, but like a random invention that they created that is patented and made like a bajillion dollars. I think that there are exceptions to the billionaire rule. I think a loud billionaire is suspect. A regular billionaire
Starting point is 00:31:37 can be great. No, I know. Cause I know a guy here who created, like he just patented like this specific type of technology that now every company uses because he like advanced business like by 30 you know he like took them light years ahead with this one thing that he learned how to code and create and whatever so he's just a genius yeah maybe what it is is the billionaires that aren't actually geniuses are bad people yeah well it's just I mean maybe it's I mean listen I think it's all billionaires, but I'm, you know, that's my mind is somewhere else. But I think it's also just like, like those big, big CEOs. It's like, you can't get to the top without like walking all over people and without treating people terribly. Like there's just no way. Cause a
Starting point is 00:32:25 normal person wouldn't care that much. No, a hundred percent. I don't know. I mean, I, again, devil's advocate. I have a friend who's a CEO who's about to sell his company and he's the most genuinely kind, wonderful person. You know him too. Me? But yeah, you've met him. But like he built a really, really, really, really successful brand. And part of the reason that it's so successful is because his employees like very much respected him and they like saw his hustle and they matched his hustle. And then now he's like selling his company that he built for close to a billion dollars. And he's really like known in the industry as one of the kindest most wonderful people and or you have the exceptions I mean I stand by my statement but I
Starting point is 00:33:10 think a lot of them yes I think there are a lot of really shitty people who end up making a ton of money because they're willing to do a lot of things that like other normal good people aren't willing to do yeah like I think Dolly Parton is a good person and she's a billionaire you know is she a billionaire she's got to be a billionaire wow did you know that Dolly Parton owns the pink pink Jeep tours in Sedona. That's cute. I didn't know that. So she's got her hand in all these buckets. I love her so much. Good for her. She diversified. That's also why she's probably close to a billionaire. Okay. When we come back, like, love, loathe. You're listening to the Lady Gang. Welcome back. We're doing a segment called like,
Starting point is 00:33:53 love, loathe. I would like to start. I like Adam Sandler. I recently watched Jay Kelly on Netflix. And I just love Adam Sandler. I am so excited to spend this award season with Adam Sandler. Will he come to the Golden Globes in a hoodie? I hope so. Jay Kelly's a great movie. I'm starting to watch all the award season stuff, so I don't have time to watch the Diddy documentary at this moment.
Starting point is 00:34:18 That's why I was wondering if it was worth the watch. And, dude, Adam Sandler. I loved you in Wedding Singer. I've just loved you forever. he seems unaffected and cool and the thing about i like about this movie is like adam sandler can act his ass off but he doesn't pull it out he's been doing stupid ass movies for a lot of his career and then he just drops jay kelly where he plays this like torn dad manager to george clooney's character and like he's just making me cry like i just love him and i love how much
Starting point is 00:34:55 he did this actors on actors with art. Sorry. I know this is supposed to be fast. He didn't actors on actors with Ariana Grande. And you could tell he was like a real fan. And he kept talking about his kids and like, we love this song and we love this song. And like, I could just see what kind of dad he is. And I just think he's rad. So I forgive you for your horrific fashion. Love you, Adam Sandler. I forgive you for happy Gilmore too. Happy Gilmore too was not it. I have an unpopular opinion. I don't like any Adam Sandler movies other than the wedding singer. What about Big Daddy? 50 First Dates?
Starting point is 00:35:27 Those are okay. I don't like any like Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison. Those are not. Where he's extra dumb. On the level of dumb to smart, cute rom-com. It's just like guy humor. Yeah. No, I get it.
Starting point is 00:35:43 It's just not for me. I would agree. I would agree. I think it's where he's less of that one character in the movies that I do enjoy. yeah I mean The Wedding Singer is one of the best movies of all time all time it is a good one Becca what do you like this week was yours love or like that you like we're doing like first like is um I just okay so the tanning self-tanner airbrush tan all the tanning right it's really you have to plan ahead so you have to plan eight hours before if you want a spray tan or a tan or
Starting point is 00:36:15 whatever. I found a product. It's San Tropez and it makes lazy girl living so easy. It's called lazy girl living. It's who I am. I don't like to plan ahead. Spontaneous Sally, you know, last minute Lily. Damn. It's like a new lady gang. It's called San Tropez instant glow. you put it on like with a mitt as if you're putting it on to do a self tanner but it is it's it's like self tanner meets body makeup but that shit does not move it does not come off and this it's called santropay instant glow is it tanning you at the same time or is it just a like you need to put it on before the party to have a tan yeah you put it on before the party to have a tan and you it'll stay on your body for 24 hours or something like that if you know
Starting point is 00:37:12 and the color's good it's beautiful the one i do is actually the the um medium dark and it's very pretty um there's you know loving tan is like always oh yeah it's like the darkest one that one has such a good bronzer too that i'm like i don't even want to take it off i just want to like i promise you put the bronzer and it comes off on the clothes you're saying this like really sticks. This is like glue to your skin. When it dries, it's dried. Beautiful. Okay. Thank you. Jack, what do you like this week? My like is the brand Necessaire. You know, it's like I saw them all over. Yeah. Cause I saw them all over the internet. Cause I'm like, they're this like fancy minimalist, like whatever. And I'm like, I'm just going to like try out a body wash.
Starting point is 00:37:55 Might be the best body wash I've ever had. And I also have their unscented body lotion. And you know I have all the Hy-Vee sensitive skin thing going on. And even some unscented lotions smell like some, like they still have a scent. It's the best unscented lotion that does not irritate my skin. And I just love it. I love both of those products and their body wash smells like, what is it? Eucalyptus. And it just feels so chic in the shower. You're so chic. Sucker for packaging and also a good product. My love is the new word. It is schmorken. S-C-H-M-O-K-E-R-N. Schmorken. Schmorken. It is a German word that means to leisurely browse through books, often with a sense of enjoyment or without a specific goal. What do you want to do today?
Starting point is 00:38:50 I just want to schmorken. Schmorken. I feel like that's not how you read though. No. I love a bookstore. I love to just be – Oh, I thought it was actually reading the book. No, no. You're just going through the bookstore like you're not buying a book. You're just perusing.
Starting point is 00:39:05 You're just smelling. You're looking at the covers. You're pointing, acting smart, being like, read that, read that. Oh, want to read this. Looking at the pens. You should do like some sort of series where you go around to like all the best bookstores in the country. Okay. I mean, she should do that for her book tour.
Starting point is 00:39:24 Yes. Oh, even better. Yes. I love a bookstore. I can tell you what makes it great too. Yeah. I like this. I'm actually really into niches right now. Like the New York Times books, people have like an Instagram and they did a deep dive into how they picked the top 10 books of the year and the way they love books. Like I'm going into that world. Yeah. Anyway. Okay. What do you love this week, Becca? I love Sky Rizzy. Sky Rizzy. Nothing is everything. Wait, is this a big pharma? Is it a psoriasis medicine? It's my psoriasis medicine. It's a shot that I take now once every 12 weeks. And I just had this moment a couple of days ago. It was time for
Starting point is 00:40:13 my shot again. I take it out of the refrigerator and I just thought to myself, before I bit the bullet. When I was doing the tea tree oil bullshit and the elimination diet bullshit that never worked and the oils and salves and, you know, prayers, I really can't believe, I can't believe it took me this long. I'm a new person. I'm a changed person. And you know, when you realize that a problem has been solved, the best problems that have been solved are the ones you don't even notice. You just go on existing. I used to never wear a black sweater in the winter because my scalp is really where my psoriasis would really flare up and ruin my life. I used to get it pretty badly on my elbows. So I was like very insecure about wearing anything that showed my elbows.
Starting point is 00:41:06 And also weirdly, when you do have psoriasis on your elbows, you don't realize how many people touch your elbow. Unsolicited touching of the elbow. It's so weird. Anyway, so I just, if anybody out there, listen, this is not an ad. This is not an ad. If anybody out there is really suffering and you've been resisting because there's a lot of noise out there and a lot of shame, not a lot, a little bit, but you know, the loud minority, just do it. Just do it. I wish somebody had taken me years ago and been like, don't be an idiot. Don't be an idiot. My thirties and twenties were robbed of flaky skin. I will say that I have never seen a pharma drug promoted more than Sky Rizzy because I know that entire, I think I've dreamt of that theme song. I don't
Starting point is 00:41:57 understand what it means. Like what does nothing is everything? Nothing is everything means no You don't have nothing on your skin. Oh. But Sky Rizzy is a good name. Like, if we were going to make a drug, I would call it, like, Fem Rizzy. Like, you've got the Rizz. Honestly, they should put you in an ad. I actually could give them.
Starting point is 00:42:15 She needs to run through a field of daisies. With her elbows out. Just elbow shot. Slow-mo. We'll get coal from the glam bot, and you'll just be glam botting your elbows and your scalp. She could be, like, itching her scalp and nothing comes off. And then just wearing a black blazer. Oh, I'll direct it.
Starting point is 00:42:36 Congratulations, Becca. Finally. Thank you so much. Jack, what do you love this week? I love what I always love. And that is Sweet Lauren's cookies. I am still on the Sweet Lauren's train. Kelty introduced me to them.
Starting point is 00:42:49 They're gluten-free vegan cookies. I don't care about that at all. They're the tastiest, most addicting thing. I really look forward to it every single night. Jared and I make like four cookies every night. little little little guys a little bite they're so delicious right out of the oven they're so expensive but i buy so many packs of them because i can't quit how much do they cost they're like eight dollars for a pack for like the 12th yeah they're not cheap but on they're
Starting point is 00:43:18 worth it because i i there's they taste kind of grainy they're not for everybody but i am obsessed I love that like grainy, yummy. I don't know. I can't, I can't think about it right now. It's a nice finisher for the day. Yeah. Soft and you smell, the cow smells nice. It's like, it's lovely. Yeah. And you don't have to like do a whole situation. Just throw a couple in the oven 13 minutes later, bada bing, bada boom. Delicious. Have you heard of wild grain? It's like a subscription box of like sourdough bread and random pastry things. I'm telling you, I do love sweet Lorenz, but I am telling you this chocolate chip cookie is divine. Like I'm going to just send them to you. They actually have a gluten-free version that I find to be
Starting point is 00:44:05 as delicious. I'm going to send them. It's crazy. So I get every month a loaf of sourdough. Some of these cookies, they have croissants. They have like pizza on sourdough. It's really, it's delicious. They're not a sponsor either, although they should be. Do you need a fridge for that? Unfortunately, you do. I was just thinking about how I had to give up my cookies and then I ate some of it raw because it was non-refrigerated and it was going to go bad. So I ate them raw.
Starting point is 00:44:35 You could eat the whole thing raw. You can? Because there's no eggs. There's nothing in it. Yeah. But I don't have room in my wine fridge for cookies when I'm trying to keep my salsa cold. Okay. Loathe.
Starting point is 00:44:47 I'm going to tell you guys something. I am loathing shopping for red carpet dresses for the first time in my life. Now, I'm so excited. I'm doing all the red carpets this year. And you would think that Fantasy Kelty is like, this is where I thrive. I have been to Albright. I've been to Janet Mandel. I have reached out to every designer under the sun that's ever dressed me.
Starting point is 00:45:07 There is a, in the words of Andre Leon Talley, a famished of beauty. What is it called when he says? I don't know what you're saying. It's a, oh my God, I'm forgetting his famous quote. Anyway, when he's like, it's a desert. No, I'll look it up when you guys are going. Famine? Yes.
Starting point is 00:45:27 It's a famine of beauty. We have a problem. We have a problem. First of all, y'all don't know what I'm going to give you because these brands, I'm not talking, I'm not reaching out to Gucci. I'm reaching out to like a couture brand from Australia. And they're like, oh, our schedule is really busy. I'm like, your schedule is busy.
Starting point is 00:45:45 It's December 5th. Like we've got a month. I just am so mad. So I can't get the good dresses. So then what I've done is I've started buying things. I bought a Versace dress. It came in the mail. I was like, why am I buying a Versace dress? I returned it. I was like, I got $30,000 for the roof. It is not going well because I am presenting at the Critics' Choice Awards. So I need a dress that walks lovely so I can be a star walking to the podium. But then I need something that looks good on TV, tits up. But I look good in a DV, which they won't let me wear. It's a whole situation. If you see a good dress,
Starting point is 00:46:18 please send it my way. It cannot be from Revolve. Okay. Why don't you just get a stylist? I have a stylist. We're working on it together. I mean, I have my Globes dress, which I love. Well, their job is to literally bring things to you to try on. I know. And I love Robert, but sometimes like I need, my favorite things I wear are always things I find. Like last year, he put me in that red dress you hated at Critics' Choice with the gloves. Well, maybe Robert's time for... I love Robert, but he will make me make a decision that's not right for me. So it feels like this is not a good fit anymore. I don't know. Pun intended. Yeah. Okay. Well, here's my gloves dress, which I think you guys will like.
Starting point is 00:47:05 It's like a column and then it's got a big feather bottom. oh no it's good in person continue it looks like a wedding dress yeah it looks a little bit like a wedding dress and i don't think a feather is the choice does it also have a sparkle on it i know when i went to my fitting in new york they were like you go you always do such disney dresses you're disney princess. You can't do a feather and a sparkle. It's giving frozen. Okay. Okay. Keep going. Becca, what's your loathe? I hate to be so negative, but that is the point of this section. So yeah, I am so over group gifts. Something is happening in Austin and probably around the
Starting point is 00:48:02 country, women of this age, millennial women, unless it's a 40th birthday, like a real milestone birthday, please do not text me and ask me if I want to go in on a group gift for Sally's 43rd birthday. Oh no. Because here's the problem. Here's the rub. I agree. I've been doing this a lot lately. There's 400 more Sally's in my life. So I have to either. We're just passing around the same 40 bucks to each other. Why don't we all just keep our money and write a card? It makes me angry. Yeah. Like I don't want to, I don't want to, I don't want to spend $50 on the 20 Sally's in my life. And I don't want Sally to buy me a present. I actually would prefer you didn't. So it's just, and now I'm going to look cheap if I don't participate.
Starting point is 00:49:01 Yeah. That's why we need the mail club for adults. Everyone gets a mail club on their birthday. It's $10. Everybody gets a happy hour mail club. Everyone gets $1. Jack, I mean, I agree with you, Becca. Loathe. What do you loathe? I'll close it off short and sweet. I loathe of the fact that I have bought so many garlands like fake garlands on Amazon to find the right one and I found the right one so I bought five more and they're not the same thing they're a completely different garland same product shipped a completely different thing and I need some product what's the word where they like consistency yeah like what's it called product, I don't know, whatever it is, somebody needs to look over these garlands because you're
Starting point is 00:49:50 sending me a shitty ass Timu garland when I bought the $35 nice Amazon garland. Judith is pissed. Quality control. Quality control. That's the word I was looking for. Yeah.
