To my right is the real Instagram It Girl, Jack Vanek, clothing designer and CEO of Jack Vanek Clothing. um and today we are having a question for the lady gang puppies or kitties do i even have to answer this there's a dog sitting on your there's a dog on my lap do any of us have to answer this i think we're all puppy i think everyone's seen what happens when i'm in the same room as a cat okay oh yeah first episode i have to say i freaking hate cats but this week i met the only cat that i liked was it fat it was on a leash it was one of those cats with like the

smush faces which i love because i love like smushy dogs yeah but it acted like a dog like its tail wagged like a dog and it liked to be pet and like cuddle so it was a dog it was a i can handle a dog but i i hate but i hate cats i hate them and i don't like cat it's people like a cat person one person like oh my god i love my cat especially cat guys cat guys oh freaking out cat guys no no that's the biggest deal breaker in the world don't have a cat cat guy okay okay so um on that note it's time for good week yes it is bad week oh no all right i have to start back your hair's so long is this new extensions or is it just growing no i just it grows like a weed so nice why my toenails look like dumb and dumber right now oh my god i

have oh like everything grows so quickly my armpit hair it's unbelievable it's like i should be in the guinness book of world records that's why you get it lasered becca it doesn't work it does not work you have blonde armpit hair yes oh it's weird it's creepy it's really creepy um i'm aware um not everyone's perfect god is fair look at this face you know okay so i have to start because i have to explain why my dog is currently sitting on my lap right now the famous orly tobin hyphen martin um and uh she's here because my bad week is this when we moved to our new house in july it's now what month late i don't know what month it is i don't know february march i don't know april spring okay so um i did all my like bills and

auto pay like i'm into auto pay so i don't have to think about it yada yada yada well i changed my cell phone number since i just whatever there was no way of notifying me if one of these things was not happening i go and i get the fedex guy i have to sign for a package at home and i'm signing the package for the FedEx guy and I see on my door there's this like notice and it's like your gas has been turned off due to missed payments and I'm like this doesn't I mean this doesn't happen to me like I I spent 8,000 hours I felt like getting everything transferred to the house but long story short I suck at adulting I just suck and I forgot completely and my number has changed since then so they couldn't contact me so they turned off our gas and i was like okay

whatever when can you come turn it back on i don't even know what gas does so i was like okay i think it keeps me warm i wasn't even sure so then i see zach later that day he'd been out of town i'm like and every time he comes home i've screwed something up every time god bless him and i was like hey not a big deal but like they're coming next week like seven days from that day um and they're gonna turn it back on it's not a big deal it's freezing in la right now and he's like um so that means no heat no hot water no hot water no cooking no oven no nothing and i was like do you learn something new every day yep now you know what gas does and now i know what gas does and uh so now you appreciate gas i appreciate it but my house is currently 50 degrees and you can't

leave orly there she'll freeze and she shivers in the house like we're like oh we're like homeless people you should get one of those uh heaters from costco i have one oh you mean the ones that you die of carbon monoxide from what yeah is that like a space heater yeah don't have don't use space heaters oh well people die people die of frostbite too you know probably yeah you can't get frostbite in 50 degrees okay so that was that was my bad week my good week is i made a new year's resolution wait for it i'm at a mirror message manifest yeah right and it was to not buy clothing in 2017 good one because you get clothing sent to you for free so every year before that i still i don't get to pick what's sent to me i have to like you know if there's like a pair of shoes i'm

like vying over i can't just call them and be like hey i'm becca tobin of eight years ago was kind of famous but not really and i need these shoes like that doesn't work that's true so i just have to take what comes and i have not i've stuck to it it's been months wow boom kelty good girl beat that um my good week is that i trended on twitter now this happened a few weeks ago but i had so many good weeks in a row that i had to like save it up but it was the highlight of my life um that's the power of the lady gang no the i want to thank the lady gang because they trended me and here's the greatest thing when i trended i was literally standing beside my boss and i was like super casual about it uh he's like why don't you ever look up from your phone like

it's a crime. Busted. Busted. Okay. So I'm at the airport and like you see her walk up and you always know it's someone famous when they wear their sunglasses in the airport, you know. Famous or a douchebag. Right. And I was like oh. And I was like oh it's Rachel Zoe. And like I see her sometimes

for work, you know. And I would have said hi except I was wearing get this. Kohl's. Three day old leggings that had like a lot of pilling that I had worn to New york my thug boots from target that's fake uggs if you're wondering and my etsy what would tammy taylor do sweatshirt what you're joking no that's amazing and my hair in a top knot and only josie

moran argon oil on my face no makeup and just oh i love my tammy taylor sweatshirt and if you're a friday night lights fan tammy taylor is the bomb and i love her and i'm proud of my tammy taylor sweatshirt and it's my most comfortable sweatshirt i was embarrassed that i was wearing it at that moment well in that moment i can understand but you could have told her she was repeating an outfit had i know see you have the upper hand in that you know who else was out i've also repeated the tammy taylor sweatshirt many times whatever you're not rachel zoe yeah it's true okay are we ready for mine yeah you're ready um so my good week is some girl i don't remember who it is i'm sorry posted in the lady gang a picture and it looks like a bizarro version of us did you guys

see this picture no yes look at this photo i saw it and tell me that's not holy like a bizarro world what it's the oh it's the new the new planets that are like 13 trillion light years away the lady gang exists on that planet it is so weird this is so creepy make a note we have to put this on instagram and the thing is the girl that's in the middle is like famous she has like a million she is somebody oh you know what because i've recently seen her and i've been like i kind of looked like that when i was like 12 years old right she's clearly younger than me but the only person that doesn't really look like their doppelganger is the kelty one and the only reason she it's the same hair right like the face color the face doesn't know but from far away yeah

and because jack and becca 2.0 looks so much like i know that you obviously think the next one is the brawn if it was the brawn if it was just kelty you wouldn't you know the thing that's upsetting about it is it's clear the kelty 2.0 is the oldest one of that group and i'm the oldest one of this group and so kelty 2.0 hold on you're tagged no no you're not anyway whatever your name is i'm with you girl and your hair is very beautiful okay she's good hair anyways i'm like if we ever get a lifetime movie they're gonna play us yep except for that one girl's way more famous than any of us yeah really um so my bad week speaking of lifetime i watched the britney documentary you're gonna say this i thought of you it's not a documentary documentary

what is it called that's a biopic the unofficial biopic biopic well whatever it is i watched it i'm never gonna get those two hours back in my entire life i can't believe you did the whole thing i was probably every 15 minutes i'm like why am i still watching this and then i got more wine and then like 15 minutes later i'm like why the hell am i still watching this it was so bad so embarrassing it's the girl that they picked to play britney i could have done a better job no honestly and i can't sing nor act nor dance and i also don't look like her also how did i not get that job honestly i was shocked guys it's crazy did you audition no oh i mean it's also call your people the girl was like a no-name actor i think that if that had come through on

my email though being like you have an audition for i would have been like no thanks really yes lifetime pays a lot of money it does but like certain things you can't pay your soul back for you know money can't get your soul back to that what did you think of the breakup dance off okay so i have to say that i found out that that really happened in real life there's allegedly allegedly no one well and a version of a friend of my friend dj'd that night that it happened and he said that christina aguilera was also there and involved in the dance off do you know what it probably was is that you know when you when you're young and you break up with your boyfriend or you get dumped or whatever and you go you always hang out at the same places yeah

so they're at the same place and like you're just like i'm gonna be super hot and unlike and just like i'm gonna dance he's like a woman also so he probably was like i'm gonna dance i'm gonna show off this bod so they were both probably just like dancing and it was just like hate so weird so much passion i've gotta say though the people that they got to play britney and justin were the worst dancers i've ever seen in my time ever i'm like i literally could dance better and i can't dance britney has like an iconic build like her body yeah it's like a very like at least get somebody who like has that shape because then she was like doing all those dance numbers and like silhouettes of her i'm like that's somebody's mom that is not britney spears

and the best thing is they couldn't play any britney spears music shitty like like random songs that they could probably get the rights for oh god it was but who in the room was like you know what a biopic without any of the musics about a musician sounds like a great idea yeah but i bet they've got so many viewers oh yeah so it was probably like sharknado like it was so bad you just couldn't stop but i thought sharknado was actually good was it not okay jack i never saw as someone who was in sharknado 3 i was asked to be in sharknado 2 that's oh no i wasn't nope i was asked to be in another pirate movie that nick carter was producing and starring and i was thinking in my mind this has to be like sharknado yeah and i didn't do it what's your good week

jack that was oh the doppelgangers yeah okay what do we have coming up we're very excited today because one of the stars of the goldbergs is here with her super sexy man now back to the lady gang oh they say everything is bigger in texas but our guest today is the one exception she's a tiny little ball of brunette beauty she's one of the stars of abc's hit television show the goldbergs and was a finalist on x factor she's a songwriter and she began writing her own music at 13 by the way when i was 13 i was literally just spending my time at the drugstore trying to get clear a cell clear pads to get rid of my acne which i also was doing last week anyway um we're so excited to have her welcome to the pod hayley and um first of all

were you always talented or did you like at some point like when when did the talent begin um i that's such a complicated question um like always when i was nine you know everything in my life as far as like my career and and what i love to do singing and acting has kind of fallen into my lap yeah um so like with singing i was nine years old and i was hanging out with like a family friend and i was singing along in the car and she was like you should sing for your parents when you get home and i was like okay like i'll sing when i get home so i did and i sang amazing grace in front of my parents and they were like we should get you into voice lessons and i was like okay so it kind of just become a thing that i do i guess like any other kid would play soccer or

yeah whatever like it's just been my thing and so the show what is it like to be on the show the family of the show and it's sort of like old it's set in the 1980s yeah so you get to wear all that cool fashion it's cool as a word it's so much fun working on the goldbergs and we're in our fourth season yeah and everyone gets along so well and i know that's cliche but we really do like we have so much fun together we constantly laugh on and off set and i mean the people that play like the jtp and like the other kids in the high school we're like best friends outside of set too so we're going to see a movie later like we just love each other so it's i feel like it makes an even better show when everybody's already getting along and there's no like egos involved

um so it's great and the clothing and the outfits are you know unique themselves is it stressful when you're like oh now i'm going to do a photo shoot met for a magazine they want me to put in this like ironically but like i also just wore this on my show like last week no i because it's the same right now it's true a lot of the clothes that i wear on the show are from american apparel and forever 21 yeah and so i ended up the first season being like oh i need to wear some high waisted pants so i went and bought out like four pairs of high-waisted pants now so it is what it is um is that all your real hair that yeah she asks everyone this question because she's hair envy that's so amazing something's going on with my ends lately but thank you for that for a

television actress who gets your hair messed with all day long it yeah i'm proud of you thank you it's been great but um there is one exception when we go like a throwback to i think they call it like eighth grade or ninth grade erica with braces and frizzy hair yeah they and that is my hair that they curl into a crazy mess but they add bangs oh clip on bangs Clip-on bang. Kelty is a big supporter of a clip-on bang. I have a set. Now, question.

Would you ever rock a clip-on bang on a red carpet? Honestly, there are days where I'm like, because I hate my forehead. I'm like, I have a huge forehead. We need to cover this thing up. Girl, you don't know huge foreheads. Look at all three of us. No, actually, she has a no forehead. I don't have a forehead.

You know what they say? Big forehead, big brain. It's true. So, I mean, I honestly wouldn't be opposed, but I haven't had it yet. I might look into that. Is that weird? Well, Kelty can coach you on that. At first, I was a little bit like, it's pushing it.

But I have seen photographs where I wasn't sure if it was a clip-on or not. So that's a good sign. But editorially, in a photo shoot, beautiful. Here's the thing. I'm going to be honest. Blondes should not do clip-on bangs. But a brunette like yourself, you can do a clip-on bang because your hair is easier color to match. Yeah, you can cover it up.

it which i think is a great thing that makes him unique and why a lot of people like him even though he can be an asshole yeah but at the same time when i met him one-on-one the one the only thing i learned about him because i barely saw him when we worked on the show was he just is a serious chain smoker and it's really nice interesting like it's i don't do you think he's hot i think he's so sexy same like gravy next power just give me someone powerful you can look like a monster it doesn't matter um but i think he's nicer to the girls because we've had one other girl come on who said the exact same thing that he was very nice to her and i think men have a trickier time probably because he like thinks he has a chance with hot girls yeah because i was 17 i hope that's

not true i'm sure he still thought it at the time i'm sure it is true i mean i don't know i think it's an act he's a dad now he's so soft speaking of foxy do we want to allow your fiance to come is he your friend oh my god no i'm sorry i know it's on my finger okay wrong way oh boyfriend you just accidentally put it on your boyfriend's hot he's super hot um look at his face i was like Wait, what am I, what are we talking about? I know, but I... You've got to be careful about that if you're in the public eye. My other one, because I normally wear one on this finger too, and they're both from like my family, like it moves. And so the other day I took a picture with like my left hand by my face with the ring on. Everyone's like, congrats. I was getting text messages.

I was like, no, no, no. Not that I wouldn't. Just... How long have you guys been together? 11 months, which for me is a big deal. He's not an actor, is he? No. i could tell he's normal it's because he had like the non-douchebag vibe yeah i don't know if you

can hear us but anyway no we can't hear you you can say anything anything amazing okay great she's like his dick is huge just kidding she didn't say that i didn't i didn't say that okay anyway so mom hey hayley's mom welcome to the lady gang so um we met because long story short he is a former marine oh he looks like a marine have you seen him in a uniform what does he have a uniform no i keep asking him to wear but he won't like good pics though yes yeah and i love that so what does he do now so well he was actually injured in iraq in 2007 i know so if you notice he shook with your his left hand it's because his right hand's paralyzed but that doesn't stop him from doing anything because he's an amazing human being so anyways um i know he's so dreamy like

hayley move over can we go back off girl like you and your good hair and your classy nice boyfriend i've had enough of you and you'll be in here five minutes so we met because a group of the semper fi fund guys who was like um like injured marines they came on set and did a tour on the lot like stop it so that's how we originally met and he messaged me on instagram and i didn't see it for four months he slid into the dm and i was like oh who's this guy and then i remembered meeting him that one time and so cute ever since then we didn't have marines we had trolls come physically like yes i mean that we did not anyone that looked like that on the show or to visit on set like so i'm really sorry because i got so lucky and not to mention we're both from texas

so we have like so much in common we're gonna go to nashville for the whole summer together because we both love nashville oh my god he's just gonna be fun so it's cool to i mean he's completely different and i've been out in la for four years and all the la guys were pretty gross terrible terry blame the most terrible um what does he think of hollywood life you know have you done a red carpet with him yet yeah well he hasn't walked with me but um maybe it's not official he might get discovered if he walks a red carpet i know i think you might keep him yeah don't let him go into that he's too hot to be thrown into this world i'm gonna keep him in the shadows yeah he's in the shadow like not because i'm ashamed because i don't want anyone

else to have him yeah no no uh he's come to like different events with me and you know this whole week i've had different interviews or things to go to and he's kind of popped in with me and and it's been fun i think for him to see all that but he's so supportive he's like my little assistant he's so cute a nice gentleman he went down to get coffee and asked us if we wanted anything who does that i can't remember the last time anyone's asked me if i needed something um okay so the show is on now but obviously i'm already your agent kelty is thinking about your next steps because the next step will be your lead role so what do you what do you see yourself like popping into next is it comedy is it music is it really do you want to just seriously go

into only music are we thinking like feature film is there gonna be like an indie movie where you shave your head and i don't know about that but see for me acting kind of came out about in like a really weird way so i started out as a singer and i when i was 15 met with record labels and at the time i was doing r&b pop music and they were all like hey you're great and we want to i knew but you don't have that much of a following um and this is how long ago i just want to let's see i'm 23 now do the math i don't know i'm really bad now so five years ago i mean i'm following on my space like it was like 12 years ago seven years ago seven years ago yeah that long ago did instagram exist no no can i just tell you guys that was not what just happened our producer

stacy had to lift up her fingers and tell us it was seven years ago eight years ago eight years ago because the four of us can't do basically it was hayley and i are not facing stacy so we didn't see the map but she had to hold it up because neither of you guys knew whatever whatever i'm not here for my math at least we're pretty what was this following on though yeah where did they want you to have a following i know on i guess just live your life in general that's true like social media was not as big of a thing it wasn't even a thing at all but i know that was what they kind of meant was you know if you look at disney channel every person is on the disney channel already has a platform and they're also able to just easily transition into music. So that's what

I started trying to do is auditioning for, I love that you're feeding your dog. I went to take a sip out of my water and she went in. So I was like, she hasn't had water in hours. Sorry. No, you're fine. So I met with them and they were just like, it'd be great if you had a platform, like a TV show. So I started taking classes. I didn't get acting at all. It was so confusing to me and then eventually i kept auditioning for things and then did the x factor and after the x factor audition for the goldbergs and magically booked this beautiful show so it's been a kind of strange way to get into where what i'm doing now yeah so to answer your question in that long winded answer i i really want to focus on music um i'm doing country pop music now which is a

little different my favorite it's so fun um and i'm trying to combine like my loves of r&b and everything in that as well and make it my own sound um that's been a journey in and of itself but i would love to continue doing comedy and you know try to find like a fun like i love seth rogan movies like that's or like bridesmaids which the woman who is my mom wendy mclean and covey on the show she was in she's amazing i mean that kind of stuff it's my humor it's what i would love to do but it's a challenge you know you can't just like show up and be in those movies so like i think i want to do this movie now yeah i don't know so we'll see but you just keep on trucking I feel like I have the most important question of the day.

Okay. Have you met Larry David yet? No. Because her father on the Goldbergs. Jeff Garlin? Yes. He was on. Oh, yeah.

Yeah. He was the neighbor. He was his neighbor. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Something like that. Best friend. On Curb? Yeah, on Curb.

He was like his manager. Yeah. So I think Larry's actually come to this set before, but I haven't personally met him. So you've missed him? So you've missed Larry David or something? Jack and I love. But you have one degree of separation from Larry David. Yes.

I know. One degree. And now we're only two. I know. Oh, my God. are basically sleeping with him that's amazing what if we went through the entire like hollywood family tree and we were like hayley from goldford is coming on because we can get closer to larry david one step closer i will get you there if i can let us know it's been four years though i still

have it damn it he's so elusive he's so sexy drives me crazy is our show is produced by happy madison which is owned by adam sandler yeah i still have not met adam sandler and what's the point of being on the show i know you get no none of the perks his office is literally next door to our stage stakeout yeah let's just stake out yeah just wait there the lady gang hayley what has been your ish moment the moment where you felt like yeah screw you simon cowell i have made it i'm it i'm the ish oh that's hard because i still don't really feel like that yet but i guess i don't that's so difficult maybe just uh as far as music goes oh that's hard i mean being able to present at the cma awards this year was pretty legit it took a lot of hard

work to make it happen and i have an amazing team that like helped me but it was a great combination of country music and people that i work with are there and abc the show airs on so i was like this has to happen and it was the 50th anniversary and i got to present with wendy and olivia newton john so being backstage and being able to talk to you know martina mcbride and carrie underwood i was like uh i think i'm flying right now so that to me was probably the best country people are so nice nice i know it's kind of unreal like living in la you see actors all the time yeah or you run into them at events and for the most part they're nice but there's always like a level of something else going on yeah and then being in nashville because i live there half

the time and i've met different country artists big and small and they're all so humble and they just hang out and at the taco place nearby and they're all so cool just so normal and that's something i really appreciate coming from a small town because you don't get that out here no you do not what has been your hollywood heartbreak the hardest thing about life in hollywood or the gig you did not get oh okay this is a fun one so I have always I've never I've met her one time actually but this was before this all happened Haley Steinfeld yeah it was when Pitch Perfect 2 was happening and I wanted to combine my two loves of acting and music and be in Pitch Perfect 2 girl so did I yes lofty goals girls so I auditioned I auditioned for the role that Haley

steinfeld audition for i auditioned in front of elizabeth banks me too so i was like wait for that same role i see a little bit excuse me clarity same role yeah i feel like her mother so like let's see no but but yeah that was it it was a very intimidating experience because i felt like i was i did i feel like you would have been better to be honest than her thank you but i did the exact same kind of i mean what at the end of the day when she booked it i was like okay great she has the same name as me yeah that sucks yes and then she's now killing it in the music game okay great that's another day and then she i'm assuming she's in the next movie here's the thing though i don't think she's killing it in music because of pitch perfect i think she's killing it in music

because of taylor swift so if we really want to track your career or plan you have to get in the coven let's get t swift is she part of do i want to take that angle originally no you don't because there's a lot i don't know because you're gonna get kicked out well that's the animals i'm not a model like i'm five four and i like fried chicken there's no way i'm going in that you can't be in the squad you can be in our coven good it's not a coven hey gretchen stop calling it a cut stop trying to make it happen i think coven is the new squad i think that first of all you would have been better in that movie and i also think that she has gotten where she is because of some relationships isn't that interesting that one girl has so much power

over other people's careers without even really having that much i know it's a whole nation but i guess good for her yeah everyone has their own journey um but that hurt because then the movie was a big smash and i don't want not the second one i didn't even know i didn't think it was that good oh i mean not compared to the first in my nothing is but i still love the idea of that And like the songs that they have in it, like mashups are great. Can I tell you guys something that's really going to hurt both of you? It probably won't. Okay.

It won't hurt Becca because she's made of steel. Hayley, I heard a rumor that Hayley is actually the star of Pitch Perfect 3. Like the whole story revolves around her character this time. Devil's advocate again. It's because nobody wanted to go back. It's because no one wanted to go back. I think they all went back, Becca. They go back, but they didn't want to be like there all the time.
