Starting point is 00:00:00 Hi, I'm Barbara aka your nursing educator on Instagram. I'm a registered nurse and I make content that's all about helping nursing students thrive. One of the first and easiest things I tell nursing students, if you haven't already done so, upgrade your scrubs to figs. Out with these stiff boxy scrubs, in with the ridiculously comfy well-designed figs that were specifically designed with us in mind. They're super soft, lightweight, and breathable with four-way stretch and moisture wicking fabric that keeps up during long shifts pockets are exactly where you need them the fit feels modern and tailored and they hold their shape wash after wash whether you're in class at clinical or working the floor you deserve scrubs that work as hard as you do go to
Starting point is 00:00:40 wearfigs.com and use code figs ca for 15 off your first order that's wearfigs.com code figs ca well what is this welcome to the lady gang that's amazing say that again the lady gang things are about to change around here each week we catch up with hollywood's hottest girl posse kelty knight becca tobin and jack vanik hello hello hello welcome to lady gang i am becca tobin here with jack vanik and kelty knight oh i really gotta pee i should have done that before we started. You are an idiot. Here we go. Oops. I think you pee every hour. Yeah, me too. I drink so much water. I drink so much water and I have a bladder the size of a pea. So I don't think it's possible to have a bladder size of a pea. If you had a bladder the size of a pea, you would be in
Starting point is 00:01:31 the hospital. She's joking. It's called a joke. How big is your bladder though? Really? Like how How big is one's bladder? Yeah. It's like grapefruit size. I don't think so. That's a very large organ. I know. Organs are so much smaller than you would suspect. Like growing up in school when you had to learn the organs, you expected them to be quite large. And then when you really think about it, small, small in there. You know, one of the weirdest conversations I've had lately was with my friend who had a baby last year and had a C-section and her husband is an OBGYN. And she was saying, I was like, oh, that's nice that you did the C-section. Because I feel like, obviously, her husband sees a lot of women's vaginas, but not in a sexual way. So I was
Starting point is 00:02:21 like, it's probably nice for him to keep your vagina in his mind as still sexual. Not the baby thing, whatever. But because the element of him seeing so many. So she's like, actually, I was more weirded out about him looking when they were doing my C-section. And I was like, what do you me. And she's like, I just felt like it was really weird. The thought of him, like seeing all my organs come out of my body, like he's seen everyone else's. Cause he does C-sections. She's like, I wanted mine to stay private. I'm like, that is so backwards. But like, do you, I would just be stoked to not have my husband see my butthole stretch the size of like a tennis ball. It is weird to think that they have to like take the organs out one by one.
Starting point is 00:03:04 They set them aside. Wait, they take your organs out? Yeah. They like set them aside. I mean, they don't dislocate them. Well, I know Kelty and Jack, you just take them back. But they plop them out of your body. Yeah. They have to like get them out of the way, like two kidneys on your stomach. Wow. Yeah. Wait, and aren't you awake? Are you awake for it? Did they put you out for a C-section? You're awake, but you can't feel like below. And my friend who just had a C-section said that nobody told her that sometimes, or like a lot of the time you shake a ton from the, like, I guess the anesthetic. Yeah. And she said that she like, they did the, they did the C-section and they like put the baby on her chest
Starting point is 00:03:46 and like, she could not stop shaking. And she was like uncontrollably shaking. She's like, you know, these are things that women should know. Like, that's insane. You probably, oh my God. She said she freaked out. She's like, am I dying? And they're like, no, this is totally normal. She's like, go yourself. Like, you know what? I get the same shakes from, you know, when you're going in surgery and it's like the pre-surgery drug. Oh, the great one. Well, it's not the one that knocks you out. It's the one that gives you the edge. They tell you it's like taking a shot. Yeah. They like come in your hospital room and then they give it to you and then they wheel you down and you're like just chilling out. That makes me shake. Like I remember for my
Starting point is 00:04:22 arm surgeries, like getting on the table and being like, and they were like, are you cold? I'm like, yes, bitch. I'm cold. Or I don't know. Just to calm me down. You're making me convulse, bitch weird i don't know i keep saying bitch she's not a bitch i love my nurses thanks okay all right well now it's time for good week yes it is bad week oh no um i'll go first okay i am very excited because zach and i were in austin a while back and they have a drink there that's like their signature cocktail of austin and it's called ranch water because they make it with topo Chico, which is made in Texas. Oh my God. What's Topo Chico? Jared is obsessed with Topo Chico to the fact, like he will not stop talking about it. And he keeps talking about the crisp bite of
Starting point is 00:05:12 it. Like every day. Well, then I, it's just sparkling water, but they make it with a specific type of tequila and like a lime juice or something. Like I've tried to make it since like on my own and I can't do it as special as they do it there. And I think it might have like a little salt in it. It's very simple and everyone drinks them. And if you order it there, it's like people just know what it is. It's like literally the city cocktail or whatever. So I'm very stoked about that because I was getting super bored with my typical tequila and soda with lime. It's kind of like that, but it's like the cool version. So it's like that, but just with Topo Chico as the soda water. I'm telling you, maybe you should do this on Jack tales, but you better say that I
Starting point is 00:06:00 discovered it. Um, and it is delicious. I make one for Jerry. I, Oh my God, he would die. Oh my God. It's so good. The best thing I, the, the title of it is a little strange because ranch water made me think of something completely different. Like ranch dressing, watered down ranch dressing. It's so funny. It made me think of outhouses. Oh, well it's neither. That's like In Canada, that's what we call the, like, what's in the honeypot of an outhouse, ranch water. Oh, oh, okay. You want to, you know, deposit some ranch water?
Starting point is 00:06:31 Okay, anyway. Anyways. God. Okay. Sorry. My bad week is that we were laying in bed, like, mindlessly watching TV the other night, and there was nothing on, and we were just like, there's some weird show on. We didn't know really what it was.
Starting point is 00:06:48 I kind of recognized a few people from it, and I was like, oh, I guess he's in something else and blah, blah, blah. Like just passively watching it. And like 20 minutes go by and I look at Zach and I go, oh my God, we're watching Riverdale. We're watching Riverdale, like reruns of Riverdale. I'm like, and we were actually watching, like, do you ever do that where you're like, yeah, we were invested. And there was like a performance happening by like the Josie and the pussycat dolls, which apparently are part of Riverdale. And like, there's a performance and also it was so shocking and alarming because the performance was like these like hot teenage girls in like leotards doing really sexual dances and i'm like aren't
Starting point is 00:07:28 they in high school like i'm so confused but to me you did sexual dances on glee i mean you wore a latex suit and jumped into the splits and riverdale is like the new generation's glee darker i think i don't yeah but there was something about this performance because a lot of girls are now watching, like there's just access to seeing so many different, like, like TikTok dances and, you know, Ariana Grande has really like turned up the heat, you know, like she's hot, but like, it's really seductive. And I'm like, these teenage girls, they don't even really know what they're doing to a man, but I'm looking at Zach and I'm like, I know that this isn't completely gross to him. No, they're dancing like strippers and they're in high school. But
Starting point is 00:08:13 anyways, it was more upsetting than we were zoned. Yeah. That's bad when that happens. Then you're like, well, do I start from season one? That's exactly what went through my head. I was like, I mean, we're going to be here for a while. Do we just like dive in? No, my mom watches it and she says it's good. I think it's like, yeah, she really liked it. Okay. Well, I don't know. I'll go. I'll go now. Um, my good week is a thank you to Kelty night because Kelty your fabletics Instagram ads. Bring joy to me and Becca. Every time that you do a Fabletics haul, Becca and I exchange probably 20 DMs of screenshots or like shares of the story or just sweet times that you've completely fucked up and don't know what you're doing.
Starting point is 00:09:04 This was the last screenshot I sent to Jack. It's like every time you do one, I know that it will be a good morning for me and Becca. Same. It's so good. What is it that you love about them? Because you're so manic when you do them. And like, you don't really think anything that you're saying through or like the one that you just did recently, you threw all the clothes up and you're like, we're going to do a haul. And then the, that video, then you, the clothes went down and then you had to press, you stop recording and like, you got out of character, but then you posted that version of it because usually it would like you would stop when the clothes like went and covered the thing but like you waited for them to fall and then you like frowned and
Starting point is 00:09:46 then you turned off the camera do you think do you think that we could post on the instagram account you slipping on the rug and the and it's like when you up like that you don't stop and then you post that version of it and they probably have to approve it don't they like don't you they love it i have like one of the highest rates of all the ambassadors of people buying it's because it is its own thing it is you are you are a beast you're like a robot also like you know that my deal is like do a four slide swipe up it's just like 30 slides oh my god i'm crying so hard it's literally like a 45 minute i'm crying it's just so funny it's really funny It's so good. It's the highlight of our lives. Please never stop being a Fabletics ambassador.
Starting point is 00:10:38 I know. If any other person did it, I'd be like, dude, this is bullshit. And I'd fast forward through them all. But for years, I'm like, sound on, full attention. Let's see what she screws up this time that she never caught. It's so true. It's so true. It's so good. It's also, there's a soullessness behind the eyes because you're thinking about what you're going so it's like it's actually like a performance i've been watching on a show on netflix i'm not gonna call this actress out but i'm like what is what's going on like why am i not connecting and i'm like she's dead inside like yeah she's just saying what she's supposed to say oh my god okay thank you for that kelsey it like it honestly brings it brings back and i so much joy if there's
Starting point is 00:11:26 a hall there there are so many dms going back and forth that day i'm not here for a long time i'm here for a good time okay bad week my bad week okay so I talked about a while ago um when I go to my cafe that I won't name why I the cafe and remind you why I go there but all the guys like it's just like a breeding ground for everybody that I've dated so the other day this is not at the cafe but I went to UPS to return like a something I bought on like ASOS or something and while i'm at ups this guy walks in and i make eye contact with him whatever asos it is asos thank you for coming to my ted talk my asos return this guy walks in i make eye contact with him and i'm like hmm i think i know that guy but i don't really know we're wearing masks like you can't
Starting point is 00:12:15 really tell what anybody truly looks like and then he goes and like does a return or something and the guy's like oh like what's the return address and this guy's like oh shad blah blah blah, blah. Now Shad is the last guy that I dated before Jared. I went on a date with him the day before I saw Jared. The whole time I was with Jared, I was talking about Shad because I had such a good date and I see him at UPS. Guess what I'm wearing? My fucking robe. No, you're not. You can't wear that in public. I can't snuggle in it. I can't stop. I can't stop. It's so comfortable. I'm like, why would I ever change out of this robe? But I made eye contact with Shad in my robe. And he was probably like, thank God. I hope he just never didn't recognize
Starting point is 00:13:07 me. It was, it was so bad, but he probably didn't. Sorry, Shad. Also, I went out with Shad because one of our lady gangers hooked me up with them. So if you're listening. Yes, that was drag vanic in a house coat. It's comfy. Wow. Kelty, good week. You know Theragun is our sponsor and we got Theraguns, which was so exciting. Delightful. They're so good. Anyway, so when Becca and I were in our cleanse at We Care, I was having a lot of trouble with my colonics. I'm not going to get into it, but basically- You already got into it. We know what happened. If you're a constipated bitch, they take the massager and they start massaging your stomach to get it going. And then She's like, you should be massaging your stomach every night in like this, you know, clockwise
Starting point is 00:13:51 direction or whatever. I was like, great. So then I decided to take upon myself to take the Theragun and like Theragun my stomach. It is life changing. I know. Let me just tell you. It's not too strong. It's strong, but it breaks up all the hard poopy rocks you have in your intestine and
Starting point is 00:14:10 makes them into little tiny fleckles of sand. And I was like pooping and I looked and it was like all sand. anyway i'm just like a lady no live your life okay bad week what is the sand in this story wait we're at sand but it's like debris wait sand from your poop no it like breaks up like any of like a prehistoric yes it's just breaking it up so that what once was rock sized is now sand sized got it like the fossils in your intestines yes i am so disgusted made entirely of diet coke and yogurt parfaits and stickers bars okay it's fossilized stickers bars around your intestines okay bad week maybe the worst week of all time since we have a housewife today um i thought i
Starting point is 00:15:04 would save this it's a little bit old but i saved it till our next housewife dorinda medley has a posh mark and guess what she sold on her posh mark? The Lady Gang jean jacket. You're joking. We were so excited that Dorinda wore the jean jacket on Housewives and we got a screenshot of her wearing it on Housewives. And then times are hard. She's leaving Housewives. She's got to do a clean out, a posh mark clean out. And I was like, maybe it's not really her. It's really her. She sold the Lady Gang jacket. I hope one of you bitches bought it. And it was like $20. dollars. Can I also just say like, we're here throwing stones, but we have a girl who sells
Starting point is 00:15:40 all of our Poshmark stuff and Christy's the best. And she puts us, puts it all up there. And one day I was like, I've never really like scrolled through. I know she puts our stuff up and I just don't think about it. Jack sells lady game merch too. Yeah. And I was like going through and I found that jacket. It wasn't me. I just found that jacket. It's not me. I have all three of your jackets because you guys know I have my jacket. You're a liar. That's how I know you're lying. Your story is not adding up. I have a Becca embroidered lady in jacket. It's the pink suede ones that we got. That was yours, Jack. No, I just, I could bring it out right now. I, cause I just moved all of my like stuff. I think it might've been mine. Yeah. Cause you were yelling
Starting point is 00:16:25 at me, but when you thought it was me, but you knew this whole time it was you. I don't have one anymore. So it's totally me. Okay. You're an idiot. Well, the backstory is I was scrolling and I'm like, what the fuck? There's like a really nice pink suede jacket with Lady Gang painted beautifully on the back. Like someone went through a lot of trouble to do this. And one of these dicks put it on the Instagram. And I'm like, first of all, it's a one of a kind, one of three. So now people are going to know they're selling shit. Good job, Kelty. Kelty ruins it all. We took it down, right? I don't remember. Anyways, Dorinda, it's fine. You can do it if kelty does hey ontario come on down to bet mgm casino and check out our newest exclusive

Starting point is 00:17:39 Now back to the Lady Gang. Our guest today is Reality TV royalty, the CEO of her own home furnishings empire. Her tagline is 100% correct. I run with a fabulous circle of people. Running includes tennis, cooking homemade pizzas, and Pilates. She recently returned to her Bravo roots by performing Viva La Diva, Honey, alongside the Countess Luann in tie-dye, which was fierce.
Starting point is 00:18:07 And she was also now using her entrepreneur skills to start a new venture with her beautiful daughter, who's also here today, Masks by Jill and Allie. They are so cute. And in true Jill fashion, she's using them to give back. Please welcome to the Lady Gang, Jill Zarin and her beautiful daughter, Allie. What an introduction. I think I can leave now. That's it.
Starting point is 00:18:27 That's my episode. That's all you need. I can write that on my tombstone one day. Thank you. Thank you for having us. Nice to be here. Thanks for being here. And I just, before we get started, the masks are like the thing that I, every single time I've seen friends during this quarantine, the topic of how uncomfortable their masks are always comes up in conversation. So I sit at dinner tables, I sit in backyards, and I just constantly order your masks for my friends. The best masks, working out in them, walking around like you're not you don't feel like you're being suffocated they're
Starting point is 00:19:01 great masks i buy them for everybody so it's check them out well i love you so much for saying that because we think so too but um you know we're trying to get the word out you know we really are so um i appreciate it and and it's really um the best advertising is people who wear it yeah really oh yeah you can't buy that you know no ad can buy that is the is the is the reviews that we get and the people who talk about it so thank you for that and i saw you and jenna oskowitz playing tennis together we showed up at our tennis lesson and we're both in the exact same like adorable i think it was one of the tie-dye ones yeah early ones and we have like 25 each like we just i have them everywhere and we ended up in the same tie-dye mask we're like
Starting point is 00:19:46 well obviously it's a great endorsement because we're both wearing them do you have the but do have the jewelry so that you don't lose the mask jewelry chains is the next level i was like can they get better can they get better they did the jewelry that's wait to see because we have a huge collection of masks too obviously but no matter what you keep losing them you leave it in the bag you leave it in the pocket you leave in your car so you have to have well like we were they're falling off your face well no dirty like last night we went to dinner for allison's birthday last night and it was her birthday. And we took her to the Versace mansion, fancy, fancy, but there were a lot of people there, a lot of people there and they're not really separating as much
Starting point is 00:20:26 as we're comfortable. So we're on and off with the mask all night. Like as soon as a waiter comes over, mask on. As soon as it's like, you know, we had the dog with us, people come over to see the dog mask on. But you know, if I had to go in my bag to get it, I probably wouldn't put the mask on. Yeah. Right. But because it's on my neck, I just lift it up. I put it down. I lift it up. I put it down. I went to a wedding, put it on, take it off, take it off. So now that we know we have to live with masks, you have to have a mask chain. I don't care if it's a dollar mask chain, a thousand dollar mask chain, you need a mask chain. So true. Convenience. What's it like working with your mom in business? Well, I had my own career before this. And like most people, my company
Starting point is 00:21:05 went bankrupt in March. So it wasn't really, you know, we didn't come up with an idea to work together kind of just happened naturally um in response to what was happening in the world and we kind of just got our shit together and we still you know fight and argue but i think that we balance each other out in a way that helps us because we have totally different perspectives on like i knew tie-dye was a trend she kind of thought it was a fad right and i was like no tie-dye has been here forever everyone loves it and then actually the solids kind of picked up more because people love the monotone look also and the neutrals and the earth tone so it's been a mix and like a big learning curve for both of us, but it's been, um, it's been an interesting
Starting point is 00:21:47 path. That's taking a lemon and turning it into a nice lemonade spritzer. I do like teeny like, and, and I love, and I was saying like, you know, Jill for, for all the TV drama and highs and lows and all this stuff, you have always been someone who has had a big heart and you've always sort of give back and used your power and your name for good and to bring people up. And so I was not surprised to see that this has an impact of where it's like a, you know, buy one, we give one kind of thing. So how did that come to be? Well, we don't just give one, we give many and we just donated 5,000 to the USO. Wow. So they reached out and they were looking for masks and they asked if we could do 5,000, which is, you know, we're a small company. I mean, as big as we are, we're
Starting point is 00:22:34 still very small. You know, when our minds were big, we're very small, but 5,000 is a lot. It is, but we have to give, you know, that's part of our mantra and we don't lie. I mean, we do. And if any, you know, Ali's like, you know, uh, super strict about how many we sell and how many we're giving. Um, so we just get made our biggest ever one time donation. And, and, and it's really, we love it. You know, we do, we love it. And we love that the people who are buying the masks love that we're doing it. They want us to do it. Right. So at the beginning of the pandemic, we had some lady gang masks and people were like, I can't believe that you're going to profit off of Matt and I was like masks are about to be our real life for a long time like I know that we
Starting point is 00:23:13 probably won't ever go back to not having masks on an airplane all these places so this is like now it's like you buy socks you buy bras you buy your mask you know what I mean yeah and I love that you're like okay listen this is going to be a company but we're also going to give back alongside of that so you can kind of feel good about supporting it which I love and it's not you know at the beginning it was just uh for health care workers but again like with the USO they asked us because you know the military are and it's stateside usually the uso around christmas does they said 5 000 like gift bags uh with different donations to servicemen overseas but this year for the first time they're doing it stateside because they really need that that a
Starting point is 00:23:52 lot of you know they need the support here because of covid so um you know we've kind of changed you know some teachers i mean we're really trying to give back to people who feel that they're on the front line and need it right we actually have a clear mask and my cousin is a teacher for um a deaf in a deaf school so we donated 200 clear masks to them so it's really people and these teachers you know they end up buying too so right it's not like we're donating to strangers across the world they're to our friends our family to nurses that take care of our family members I mean for us it's just like you know everyone needs a mask it hopefully we've helped I don't know saved any lives but hopefully well you are saving lives yeah that that is the truth yeah
Starting point is 00:24:32 What is the biggest lesson that you learned from being a television star? Oh, lesson? I say yes to everything. Oh. I wouldn't have been a television star if I said no. And everybody said to say no. My parents, my sister at the time, it was the earliest of early reality shows. And there weren't very many good ones out there to compare it to,
Starting point is 00:24:56 except for some crazy, you know, Housewives of Orange County, which was the first one. And that was it, just Orange County. And of course, we all thought we were better than them. which we weren't, by the way. If anything, they were the normal ones and we went crazy. But you like to think that. And I said, yes, because that's my nature is to say yes to everything. And I would say that just reiterated it, to say yes to everything. But also it taught me a lot. It did. It made me reflect on how I behaved and things I did right and things I did wrong. And also about how other people react. You kind of know who your friends are. One of the
Starting point is 00:25:27 lessons that I've learned and I've paid forward is that you really know who your real friends are If you can get past your first fight. Yeah. Yeah. You're so, and I didn't get, I didn't get past my first fight with some people, but then it just weeds the bad ones out early. So it does, but sometimes it can take years before you have that first fight. That's true. That's true. That's how you know, you have a real friend is when you can, cause family, you always have to make up. You kind of have to, right. Right. Um, Alison and I, no matter how much we fight, we know we have to make up. We're related, right. I'm a mother. You know, I think one of the things that we love about you, Jill, is your ability to sort of go through these really hard things publicly and then heal
Starting point is 00:26:05 and move on and show that life is a journey. And so, Allie, how's that been watching your mom, you know, like rise and meet her new guy and fall in love again? Well, I would say the craziest part of our lives really weren't on TV. People still think that they're following along, but we haven't been on TV in like 10 years. So it's all through social media now and you know you get to choose pick and choose what you put out there and yes there are articles and us weekly in page six but for the most part it's you know through our lens regardless um that's why you know people who follow us really do know what's going on in our lives right and all they want to do is you know get you back on the show but it's totally different
Starting point is 00:26:45 like if you were back on the show wouldn't be the same Jill as it was in 2009 right so yeah I mean i think gary is great um you know we obviously but coming obviously love bobby like bobby's still you know there and bobby's here every single day talk about him every day every day there's not a day that goes by that we don't talk about right but i think my mom's been lucky that she's had three loves my dad bobby and gary and they're all just different relationships and um i mean she never would have divorced bobby but i think that she was lucky to find gary when she did so quickly and yeah he's not my stepdad but he's like kind of a best friend he did give you birthday cards that say daughter all over it oh yeah no he's great because jill there was a picture you
Starting point is 00:27:31 guys went to a wedding and you're in by the way an insane dress it's like i don't know like very regal and sort of like multi-colored but has like a gold fleck in it do you know that oh i know yes you know i didn't say that i first of all i didn't post it my assistant did to be honest you sent her the picture to post no no she went through my photos she's got access to all my photos so I said you know what we haven't posted in like a month you need to put up a picture so she just picked it she never thank you she never thought that it was like a wedding picture it wasn't white it wasn't white but I could see why people thought it but I didn't know right away I started getting texts from people did you get married did you get married I'm like why does
Starting point is 00:28:08 everybody think I got married um and like I wouldn't tell everybody either you know I'm not the kind of person who keeps a secret no she's not married it was a cousin's wedding yes it was my niece's wedding thank you thank you that was and allison looked gorgeous that night day oh my gosh she looks so great so gorgeous um so the new york housewives ratings are way down so that's like way like you know i don't know and i don't you know they used to be places you could look at ratings but they're gone so how do you get ratings well how does anyone know there's a lot of there's articles where they talk about it and and i think like have they approached you about coming back on like I do feel like with New York especially that they need something that's like a
Starting point is 00:28:51 little bit more grounding I have offered to come back as a um I don't even know if you'd call it a friend even less than a friend to just come on once or twice or three times um they haven't said no they haven't said uh you know like yay um but you know I know Luann would like me to I've asked Luann if I can come back for next season like I'm in Florida now so I would have to literally make a trip up to New York for it which I would and I said that and so she's trying to figure out if there's a way to get me on for one or two
Starting point is 00:29:21 scenes I know that they brought back Heather we don't know full time we just know she's filming she's probably full time I would guess interesting because I saw her at the end of this last season coming in for some party or whatever
Starting point is 00:29:35 New York's kind of gone astray and it needs to like come back and now they brought on someone who you know is new and different than what they've had and it'll be interesting to see how they all kind of figure out you know being well i think new york was different because it was like actual real women that weren't celebrities or actresses like beverly hills they're all right actresses in the public eye before sure right like lisa renna we know all of them so i think now the first woman she's actually in the press and it works in the media so it'll be interesting oh So now do you think I think so? Yeah. So I was just in Salt Lake city. I was actually interviewing
Starting point is 00:30:14 the new Salt Lake house. I was watching them and I was like, this is really good. And it's really interesting. And I think these are engaging women, but do you think like a housewife can come in now and become a Jill, a Bethany, a Luann? Like, do you think it's like this, the ability to become like a breakout star and known, like still 10 years later, like an icon about you? yeah like it's hard i don't think so through now i think i don't think i agree i think i think leah did though i think people really love her yeah but they love her but it's not like everyone it's a household well they'd be talking about 10 years okay the ones who know her love her watch new york but if what you're saying is true and the ratings are down it's a lot less than they were
Starting point is 00:30:55 so when i was on they were so when i was on it was a totally different era there were no other housewife shows except orange county and there are things that i don't have to you know it'll take too long to tell you. But let's just say that there was a break in programming at Bravo because Project Runway had left and they had an empty space. So they kept on filling it with reruns of New York, reruns of New York. You don't remember this because you wouldn't have paid attention that way. But you saw an episode of New York like 30 times in a week because they had so many empty hours to fill. That doesn't happen anymore. And then in between so-called seasons, they would run New York over and over and over and over and over until another New Jersey
Starting point is 00:31:33 came now you know you're on for whatever it is it's a long time don't get me wrong you're on 15 or 20 weeks and that's it and you're only on once or twice a week maybe one or two reruns because they have so many other shows they've got you know vanda pump they've got brit they had none of those shows all there was was like new york orange county and like the hair show remember that one with the cutting hair there were like a couple of realities rachel zoe came on for a little while but there was very little so they kept rerunning it rerunning it rerunning it so you really got to know us. And the ratings were in the millions. Now there's so many franchises and there's so many other reality shows and networks. And you've got Netflix and Amazon, so much more competition
Starting point is 00:32:14 than there was 15 years ago. How could you ever have that amount of eyeballs to really love one person? Like I just started watching Potomac and I love it by the way. Ooh, am I obsessed? But most people don't know who they are. I mean, unless you're Potomac, I don't even know their names to be honest with you i just like the show i don't know them but i just think that the whole jill bethany was so iconic friends with um giselle yes i know some of them i'm just saying just in general you know what i mean it's like right like every time the friendship was iconic right and every time they do a thing on e you know the top 10 fights on reality tv jill and bethany is in the one of the top 10 you know so by the way the best thing that ever happened to me right because it
Starting point is 00:32:55 kept me alive. Right. I'm also being a business woman and having a brand has also kept me alive because my PR machine has kept me alive doing rugs, rugs, rugs, rugs, rugs, rugs, Jill's iron rugs, the same proof that a lot of, a lot of other housewives don't have a brand like that. Even the older ones. Well, that's what I'm saying. So I've been able to really parlay it. I had jewelry, I had bedding, I've had this, but I found my way in rugs and now in masks, you know, not everything I threw paint at the wall, not everything stuck. So when we come back, Jill is going, Jill and Allie are going to fix your life with some help. Love to. You're listening to the lady gang. Okay. And we're back. So for this part of our podcast,
Starting point is 00:33:33 um, we have our listeners writing questions about their life, their career, everything in between. And then we try to give them good advice. Sometimes we give them shitty advice, but you guys are going to help. So our first question comes from anonymous. She says, i need help with my co-worker she is the loudest open mouth lip smacking chewer of all time i truly don't know how at 40 her boyfriend or family hasn't said anything about her she also clips her nails daily at work changes the thermostat from office wide agreed my god leaves office provided dishes and appliances dirty in the sink and is an overall aggressive person how do i tell her that she's the loudest eater i've ever come across it's driving me nuts and i'm a little bit
Starting point is 00:34:14 scared of her well first of all you're probably not with her now because it's covid and you're working at home um however it's not your place to say anything you need to talk to your boss you need to speak to your supervisor true professional can you complain about somebody's chewing to your supervisor you can say that you need to be somehow separated from them that it's bothering you yeah they don't give you when they ask a question like this and you should and people are listening you have to be really specific even if the girls aren't going to read the whole question. You kind of have to know more to give you a really, if you really want advice, you got to give more. You can't just give that. I need to know what do you do for a living? Why are you so
Starting point is 00:34:54 close to her to begin with? Why can't you eat lunch at your desk? Why are you eating with her? Why are you watching her eat? Do you work in a fast food place and that you're eating together? I don't understand. Great question. We need like a life story so we can like truly get into like the, if you really want me to give you a good answer, I need more information. And by the way, don't eat with her and you won't have to watch her eat. Okay. Next question. You can't tell her what to do, but you can remove yourself. Right. Stagger your times. Yes. Also, even if it's like you did tell somebody about their chewing, that's such an innate habit of somebody that I don't know if it would change. All right. Next question comes from tea and biscuits. She says I had success as
Starting point is 00:35:31 a teen violinist performing in symphony halls, soundtracks, chorus, film, et cetera. And my mom got me through the lows and highs without being pushy, but I burnt out and made some bad choices during my training that led to my career ending since then my mom and i have grown apart and she doesn't seem to care or ask any questions about my new job or my life i understand she invested so much time and emotion into me but it's been four years how do i reconnect with her you need a therapist you need help that is not a one first of all that is not something i would ever professional unprofessionally give you advice for because that goes deep yeah uh the resentment that your mother has towards you has to do with her own, I don't want to say, but insecurities about
Starting point is 00:36:12 maybe what happened in her childhood and what you were filling, the void that you were filling, that maybe she had, maybe she wanted to be a concert violinist or a pianist and it didn't happen for her. So she put all her eggs in your basket and you didn't do what she wanted to do in her own life. I'm making this up, but this could be a scenario that sounds like it could be a scenario. The truth is, is you have to live, it sounds like you're an adult and you have to live your life to the best you can. And your mother has to do the best that she can in her life. And you have to figure out a way to connect to her. I could tell you from my own life and being in therapy on and off over the years, one doctor said to me that my mother, my relationship
Starting point is 00:36:53 with my mother, my mother likes to connect to negativity, negative thoughts. And what it did is it made me understand her better because my mother always would say, she'd call up and go, you know it's going to rain tomorrow not it's beautiful today or it's going to be a beautiful weekend always negative always negative always negative every time she talks to me it's about something negative and i'd never understood and i would get mad at her but when the therapist told me that my mother only really knows how to communicate through negative thoughts that's her way to communicate you know there's a book called the love languages yeah it makes me reminds me it reminds me of that that of how people communicate through love but even in regular
Starting point is 00:37:32 relationship. So my mother connects to negative thoughts. So when she does it, I laugh and I say, Oh mom, you know, you might, it might, it might rain tomorrow too. You're like, I'll make a joke. I won't get angry. So you used to get mad at her because every time I would talk to her, every time I talked to her, it's negative. So, um, my point is with this girl is your mother hasn't figured out a way to connect to you because all she had was violin. And now that you took that away, she hasn't figured out how to do it. So maybe you need to figure it out with a therapist different ways by telling her more about your mom and her childhood to see what the triggers are to help you communicate with her. I love that. Boom. Damn. Okay. One more question comes from
Starting point is 00:38:13 anonymous. She says, my best friend and I have been close friends for over 20 years and spent a lot of time together, hardly ever fought and traveled around the world together. But since she's gotten engaged to a toxic guy, she doesn't seem eager to see me anymore. She hardly responds my texts and only reaches out if she has something to complain or brag about. I know he is the reason she's being ripped away from all of her friends, but I am heartbroken. Is it time that I let our friendship go and move on or do I try to rebuild it? I think you got to let it go until she comes back to you. I wouldn't put any good energy into something that's not going to give you a good result because if it is the guy, she's not going to change. If it's her, if you're blaming the guy,
Starting point is 00:38:53 that's another story are you right is it really him or is it her not sure you're right about that but if he is a controlling guy and he's really taking control of her and put you know this spell on her you got to move on there's a plenty other girls and guys out there that want to have a relationship with you and when she's ready to come back you'll be there and you tell her that but i think you know what friendship breakups are just as hard as like you know i'm not saying break up i didn't say you have to break up i'm just saying that they're really really hard right no, but she wants to know if she should go back and keep trying and keep trying and keep hitting a wall. And I'm saying, let her know you love her. It's almost like with a guy. That's what I'm
Starting point is 00:39:30 saying. Exactly. Let her know you love her and that you're happy for her and you want her to be happy and you know how busy she is. And when she has time, you're there. And that's it. And check in on her and call her on her birthday and wish her happy birthday. Don't let her think you're mad at her because you're not mad at her. You're sad for yourself that you're losing what you used to have but when your friends get married and move on i had this with bethany because she moved on away from me and i was the girl who felt abandoned and i look back now and i was wrong i was wrong i had no right to be angry that she was moving on no right you know but i i felt the way i felt i can't apologize for that you know but i felt that she was like like breaking up with me
Starting point is 00:40:10 well she got a boyfriend over the feelings right absolutely so i felt like she got a boyfriend she got jason and she was leaving and she didn't want to bring me along for the ride i mean that was very clear and i was very hurt by that i think bobby was right which he always is and he said what do you care just let it go you know whatever it is whatever but i was very you know very i was very locked into that and i couldn't see my way out and now i see it differently and i can give advice on it which is back off just back off and let her do her thing and when she comes around She's not your husband. She's not the father of your children. She's just another girlfriend in your life. You will have, I'm going to give great advice and then you're probably done with me,
Starting point is 00:40:50 but I'm going to give you some great advice. Your life is like an audience. You are, you are on a stage and your life is like an audience. You have friends in the front row, your friends in the mezzanine and your friends in the balcony. And they shift when you have small children, your friends become parents of other small children. Those are your front row friends as they get older or as your you know your best friends in high school or your front row friends until one gets married one moves away then they move to the balcony then they moved like i used to joke and say you know like that ramona was in the balcony you know i used to make a joke that she can't leave my audience because we are friends and we are connected but she would move forward and back
Starting point is 00:41:28 forward and back and i have friends who were in the front row who are now in the mezzanine or they're in the back of the uh um orchestra sometimes they'll move back up sometimes i'll have new ones come in. But if you visualize your friendships like that, you won't be so hurt when they move around. So this girl who used to be in the front row when she was single, when this girl was in the front row because you were tied, tied, tied, and now she got a guy, she's actually putting you in her mezzanine. It's okay. You're still in the same auditorium. You're just moving around. So that's how I think people should visualize their friendships and they won't be so hurt. I agree. That's a good way of looking at it. It's such a good way to look at it. And also
Starting point is 00:42:07 what, what, this is interesting when I was like going through you and Googling you and all of this stuff for this episode and figure out what we're going to talk about, but you know, the number one thing that's like literally put your name in Google and it goes, are Bethany and Jill still friends? Like still, I did not know that you didn't. Oh, here. Well, I have the top five questions. We always, I always write them down. Like what is, is she worth $40 million? What is she doing these days getting married is she coming back to housewives are bethany and jill still friends those are your top all right let's start with number one because i can't remember them all go number one million well are bethany and jill still friends it depends on how you qualify
Starting point is 00:42:43 friends we are definitely in a better place than we were five years ago in your audience she's definitely okay there was a there was a time where she was in the audience but in the back of the top balcony in radio city in the top fifth mezzanine right oh my god he was still no up but she was still there because we're connected no matter what we will always be jill and bethany no matter how hard either one of us try to separate it can't right yeah now i would say she's uh you know in the mezzanine not in the fifth definitely not in the fifth maybe like in the first mezzanine i love that is jill zarin worth 40 million dollars hell yeah oh yeah i you have she's too i'd say more two cartier bracelets on so i know that it's a lot but they
Starting point is 00:43:27 were hers they're like rolex yeah yeah exactly um what is yeah these are mine days we talked about it the mass all her other businesses did jill zarin get married we talked about this uh is jill coming back to housewives maybe flying up to new york for a special dance not a full time but i never right i never get really a positive like we want you back which is what of course you want right you know oh we want you back we want you back right of course we all want that every housewife who's left i don't care what they say they're lying anybody who says they've been uh they left they got fired i mean the whole you know the truth yeah um but of course i want them to call me and say we can't live without you that's never going to happen
Starting point is 00:44:07 that fantasy has left the building should happen so that's all honestly it's all in the hands of the fans and the viewers i love that well listen thank you for giving us this time you guys can follow, I know you're already following them.
