Starting point is 00:01:03 Things are about to change around here. Each week, we catch up with Hollywood's hottest girl posse, Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek. Hello, hello, hello. Welcome to Lady Gang. I'm Becca Tobin here with Jack Vanek and Kelty Knight. Hello. Hey, ladies. Still in wonderful Paris. I am in Paris and we are going to break down this episode into two parts. Before the bangs and after the bangs. So this is my before.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Cutesy. Cutesy, demure, and we'll see what happens. But I'm so happy to be in Paris. Are you cutting your hair as well as the bang or just the bang? I'm cutting my hair too. I mean, some of it needs to come off the bottom, but then I'm getting color and everything. I'm going to do a whole Parisian balayage.
Starting point is 00:01:53 Is it the same person who did your first cut when you were there? Yeah. I'm excited. I'm very excited for you. Thanks so much. Yeah. I'm really, really pumped. I'm pumped to be in Paris.
Starting point is 00:02:08 And it's so hot here and wonderful and great. And I just, man, I got to get out of L.A. No kidding. It like rots me to my core. But anyway, it rots me a little bit, L.A., I think. I think it rots everybody a little bit. Yep. time to go yeah bye anyway um okay are you ready ready freddy okay who's going first
Starting point is 00:02:32 um it's time for good week yes it is bad week oh no i'll go first why not um so my good week is i can't even really say this is a good week it's just a weird week um because well it's just a weird thing. There is this show called Naked Attraction. Have either of you heard about this show? Yes. Now I watched it years ago because my friend Anna is married to an English man. It's a British show and it's a dating show. And I think you can kind of get an idea of what it is, but what they do on the show is they have one person come out and there's five people standing in these boxes and their whole bodies are covered with a wall. And like minute by minute, they raise the wall up and the person gets to judge them on their bodies and it gets to their genitalia
Starting point is 00:03:25 and they just rise it right up there to their belly button and they show everybody's dick and balls right in the screen close up in your face and I just think this show is so so insane and I watched it again recently and I'm like I can't believe this exists in life do they do vaginas too yes yes and then at the end so the person that's like the dater they like come out and you know they're judging everybody they're wearing clothes but then at the end they choose the person and then they come back out naked and then the two have to like meet each other nude and like embrace and then have a hot like you know like being naked hugging another person is so bizarre because you're like i don't want my his dick to be like flapping at me so you like
Starting point is 00:04:16 kind of lean over and hug. And it's just for anybody that needs a shock in their life, go ahead and turn on naked interaction. It's so weird. That's disgusting. It reminds me of how happy I am that I bombed the audition to host naked dating on VH1. Remember you guys, we weren't doing the podcast yet. I auditioned for it. I was the shoe in, they were like, you've got it. And then I had to go for like some read and they were, the guy came up and he was like, what's wrong with you like i was not i was so bad i was so nervous about it god's protect or man's rejection is god's protection for that did they just send people out on dates naked i think they were i think they were just naked i actually don't remember the problem is this is the
Starting point is 00:05:00 this is the difference if it's on vh1 they'd they'd be bleeping out all the new parts i think they were like blurred but they were naked in real life but they were blurred for us the viewer but see then that that takes out all of the shock the shock is really looking closely at dick and balls like it is something i don't like to look at closely it's something i don't look at closely and it is and then of course they're like it's like very sexually open so they're like yeah do you like a do you like a ball that hangs low or do you like one that's like cupped up right next to the dick and they're like what kind of position do you like the best you like doggy or you like it's just so weird and they're just so like laissez-faire about the way that they're
Starting point is 00:05:44 answering i'm like i love the casualness of like british people i guess but like it's it's they're not prude but we could use a little bit more prude yeah that's gross i can't imagine seeing any cock and balls and being like i love that i like what i'm seeing and i want to know who owns those cock and balls it's just it really like reminds you that like men's bodies are kind of gross they're hideous they start with the feet which is like the most like the feet and the cankles like you're gonna give me like has anyone jack that you've watched has anyone like seen the toe cankle area and been like i'm out i don't know about the toe cankle but you know what's also crazy is they don't let them speak until the very end so it's like you're looking
Starting point is 00:06:31 at all these people and then like wanna like they'll have a weird voice or like a super high pitched voice or something you're like I was not expecting that to come out of this man but there was a couple that I was watching that got together they ended up dating for a while so then I looked it up I was like has anybody gotten married from the show because I'm like I can't be any worse of a track record than any of these other dating shows um and I think that like a couple couples have like stayed together long term from it so you know they all work in their own mysterious ways so that was my it was taking the place of my good week my bad week is I have tried to use period cups so many times in my life like probably five different times and it's been
Starting point is 00:07:14 enough years that I finally come around I'm like I'm gonna try it again you know I'm gonna try it again there's this company I think that they're called Pixie they came with they came up with an applicator because I'm like I can't hold that and shove it in my vagina like there's just it does not work for me so I'm like I bought the period applicator you kind of push it in there and you insert it like a big tampon so I did it and it just the way that it went in I'm like this doesn't feel like it totally went in so then I had to shove my fingers up there again and like try to like move because I know it like has to suction into your yeah you can you can sometimes feel it be like so i tried my best i'm like it's not going in any farther i feel like i got it to a point
Starting point is 00:08:01 where i'm like i don't feel it in there so i think that it's like in the right spot okay and i am here to say i'm never doing it again it didn't work i was that it was everything was happening outside of the period cup i tried to pull it out i feel like you're like it's so invasive the whole process of trying to put it in and take it out I'm like I feel like I'm like violating myself by doing it it's so uncomfortable and I've tried I know that tampons have so much shit in them so many chemicals but like there is no better option there's tampons now I loved a period cut back in the day I loved it I thought it was great I think your flow is too heavy and your and your whole area down there is misshapen no offense to you but like I know maybe I have
Starting point is 00:08:47 was amazing I love I put it in the morning and I didn't even think about it till the night although but getting it you're forgetting yes that when we were filming lady gang tv in your house I got it stuck with the tweezer I went into the bathroom and you're in your like primary bathroom and there was blood splattered all over the wall and the door because of your removal yes you're right you're right I'm forget see it's so easy now to not have a period and not remember these things Yeah. Well, I did come up with the term period amnesia because I think that that's just what our brain does to protect us about how bad they are every month. Cause I'm like, how do I not, why does this feel new? This feels like a new feeling I've never had before. And it's just,
Starting point is 00:09:29 I think that that's what a lot of women wrote me. Cause I posted that on Instagram. A lot of women wrote me. They're like, the same thing happens with childbirth. Like you forget about how horrible it is. And then you're like, I could do it again. Except my sister who didn't have an epidural with her second said that that's a lie she remembers every single feeling i'm sure you do i'm sure you do when you do a natural birth why didn't she do an epidural she just didn't want to yeah so with her first she had an epidural that was so strong and heavy that she was like pushing but couldn't really like she like blew it out down there because it's like you're supposed to be not supposed to but like i guess if you're able to sort of like feel what's happening down
Starting point is 00:10:11 below then you can be a little bit more like strategic in how you're pushing I don't know so she tore so badly with the first one and then with the second and the recovery with the second one was much easier but those you know those couple minutes of or hours of excruciating pain I don't know it's there's no right answer except for the way they used to do it which knock you the out and take that baby out of your body and you wake up and you hold a martini in your hand and smoke a cigarette. But then you have like no connection to your baby like whatsoever. No, I think it's fine. I mean, I didn't shove my baby out of my vag and I'm connected. That is what they do in Severance, the TV show. They put you under, they have you go to
Starting point is 00:10:53 your any land and then you have the baby and then you come up, you don't remember it. What a beautiful thing. It's so weird. There's a future for us. Anyways. Well, I'll go next. My good week is that my nursery is almost complete. so cute so cute thank you zach did a wonderful job lime washing the nursery this like really pretty mauvey pink color um and he wanted to he was cursing my name the entire time because he's like why did i agree to do this but it ended up looking so cute and we're getting new carpet we are doing the whole it's it's a really nice excuse to really nest and get your life in order and organize and do bullshit like that.
Starting point is 00:11:41 What are you doing for your carpet? So when we moved in, there had only ever been one other family who lived here and it was a empty nesters. So those rooms that were carpeted were actually never used. They were like guest bedrooms, never utilized. So we left the carpet because it wasn't gross.
Starting point is 00:11:59 It was pretty new, but it's not what I would have picked out. Yeah. So I was responsible for the last five years and I just lived with it. But now that I have lived with it, I feel like really entitled to doing my own little selection of carpet. So you don't worry about the carpet with the blowouts? No, because I, I mean, knock on wood, I didn't have that with Ford. Like it was not a, maybe it's because of the um maybe it's because of the diapers that I used they were just better but I feel like dogs are messier than babies my bad week well I have a double good weekend
Starting point is 00:12:45 and bad week just because I'm me I'm breaking the rules I'm just it's summer you know okay so my bad week is that I had to change agents um I had a very strange situation happen that was my fault but it it I fucked up basically I said something really terrible actually not that terrible but like you didn't you said something very mild I pissed off us this happened. I pissed off a lot of celebrities. I pissed off a celebrity four years ago. And I recently found out that I pissed off the celebrity and, and we had the same team. And I just, I felt like this for a long time where I was just like, I, you know, I live with a manager. I live with essentially an agent. I watch him wake up in the morning and text his people and be on them and be
Starting point is 00:13:39 talking about them and be pushing for them and like making things happen. And I know he's a manager. So it's a little different, but like, I just feel, I just feel like I needed a change. I need a new, this is a new era of E. They don't really know what we're doing. I know I'm doing red carpets, but like, I need someone that's going to be like, oh, we should go do this thing or like go get you on drag race or whatever that is. And that just wasn't happening. So I, um, I feel kind of sad and bad about it. It's one of the worst conversations because it's like a work breakup. But the reason it's my bad week is that Carolyn Conrad, my longtime lawyer, who I love would not let me do this by email or text. And I was so mad at her because it's so hard. Like
Starting point is 00:14:25 I couldn't get them on the phone. You know what I mean? Like it's, they never, they don't return a phone call unless you're like making a hundred million dollars a year. Everything's an email. So I was like trying to get this person on the phone, on the phone. I couldn't get them. And it's just like dragging on me because I have to have this hard conversation. Anyway, I had the hard conversation but this is what was so funny about it I'm in the airport lounge on my way to Paris in Charlotte and my connection and I'm on the AA lounge and there's it's pretty empty and I know I'm being too loud but like I'm having this I need to have this very clear conversation so I was like yeah this is it like wishing you the best blah blah blah and I hang up the phone
Starting point is 00:14:57 and I go and I let out this huge sigh and a girl turns to me and she goes I'm so sorry to bother you I'm a huge Lady Gang fan and she goes I was figuring you are on your way to Paris are you on way to Paris right now. So she watched me. She heard me fire my agent and act like a baby piss pot. And then she turned around. Anyway, she was so cute. I think her name is Isabel. I feel like I'm remembering it wrong. She lives in Raleigh. She was coming to Charlotte for work. Her parents are in Charlotte. Anyway, that but you're also not giving the context of having to break. You didn't say that the celebrity that you quote pissed off is also represented by your agent yes and so i think that i was i you were getting the stepchild treatment because this
Starting point is 00:15:43 other celebrity was more important and mad at me but i didn't wait wait wait and what you allegedly did to this celebrity is such a nothing benign burger when you told us i was like are you kidding me also this also i have been stewing with this information too this celebrity of all people of all people should know people make mistakes on the internet and say people really crazy shit crazy things and out of context and and i would argue that what this person has done on the internet is a million times worse and more offensive than one comment you made that could that actually in context was not offensive at all i want to go scorched earth actually and i won't because I know that this is a comp it's it would just make things too complicated for your life
Starting point is 00:16:36 but when I'm allowed when I'm allowed I'm telling the story on this podcast I'm gonna name some other names yeah it's a weird situation it really really ironic it like here's the thing as you guys know I up like we all up we are imperfect people I have said and done things a zillion times that I regret. But I think, and this pisses me off about other people. This was not one of those times. I understand. I understand. But even if, even if you feel like, oh my God, it wasn't even that bad what I said. Even if, if the intention, who cares? If someone's upset, I think the cruelest thing you can do is the let them theory. And this is why I wrote this book. I, the let them, like you I'm blocking I'm never talking to you again is so cruel because nobody learns nobody knows
Starting point is 00:17:27 this it's been four years and this person has hated me I've had no idea it's been impacting all these different ways of my life and like no one stopped to be like hey you were we thought this came across assholey so that I could apologize like at least the beauty with you guys and the lady gang is that like, thank God we'll just go and be like, Hey, I'm pissed right now. Or like, this is not cool. And then I can sit back and be like, Oh, I didn't mean it like that. Or you're taking it or like, I did mean it like that. And I'm also, or whatever it is, but like, and also in marriages and friendships, like I do have a couple of righteous friends in my circle where they were like, get so mad and like, never, it's just like, you don't have to
Starting point is 00:18:10 accept the apology, but not allowing someone to know that you're mad is so cruel. I think it's such a weird thing to do. For your, it's also one thing for this person to not, because you don't have a super close relationship, but for your agent to have not had the balls to figure this out, or if she, if he or she did not want to remedy it or felt like it was a portrayal of the other client, then that person should have seen their way out of this relationship long ago. It's very high school behavior. It's so weird. And I, you know, I think this is just going back to in so many ways. I think the beauty of getting older is that in your twenties and your thirties, whatever, you always had that feeling in your gut. You marry the wrong guy. You're dating the wrong,
Starting point is 00:18:59 you know, this guy's cheating on you. You don't want to admit it. You know, this is a bad business deal. You know, this job is going nowhere. You know, this friend is bad news, whatever it is that you know. And I think the beauty of getting older is that I now really trust my gut. Like I have felt something for years. I was like, this is weird. This is weird. Like little tings of like, what's going on? I now feel like, oh, it all makes sense. I'm not crazy. I'm not insane. Like I just need to trust my gut more when my gut is being like, you need to like, do not make excuses for other people like go and do the like investigation now back to the lady gang speaking of the investigation my other bad week is that um no I'm sorry my good week
Starting point is 00:19:46 I have a baby name for you and I think it's great oh right okay god wait have you decided it yet Becca no okay I think that it should be named baby Finley and you're gonna call her Finn i knew a girl named finley in atlanta and she sucked uh fin and ford no i mean fin is a very cute name but that is cute i did know and i think it's a little irish maybe finley no it is irish and also like there's a version of it that just means white oh but then there's an uh phineas is Hebrew. I love the name Phineas. And it means it means Oracle. I wish Phineas wasn't Phineas. This is my problem with baby names is all I do is correlation. So thinking about baby names for me, it's like if anybody has ever been named something ever in the history of anything,
Starting point is 00:20:42 I'm like, nope, reminds me of that. Nope, reminds me of that. Can't do that. Reminds me of that. Like nothing is original sounding. What about Griffin? That's my mother's middle name. But griffin i mean my mom's maiden name but griffin martin is a terrible yeah griffin martin i dated a guy in high school named griffin and we called him griff i did i hooked up with a guy named griff griff martin sounds so like a linebacker yes griff martin has a show where he goes around the world and eats exotic foods yes griff martin is yeah yeah martin gives it a little bit of a challenge too because you can't you have to stay away from like certain it's like sharp sounding oh it's like when I married my first husband Minsky and I was Kelty Minsky oh I knew I shouldn't have done that
Starting point is 00:21:27 it was horrible you should have known then you should have known then oh god again trusting your gut you know what I mean god the amount of times I did not in my 20s oh my god all the times didn't trust my gut once and oh never we did we just don't we just don't um okay well i'm excited for your paris uh i know i'm gonna come on back and i'm gonna come in with a quick little end to this episode which is my kelty's paris style guide and i'm going to tell you what the bitches are wearing. Um, I mean, right now everyone's just hot. Everyone is smoking. Smoking's back for Gen Z. Oh my God. The smoking is insane. By the way, sorry. One little quick thing. Do you know who else is here? Caitlin Bristow. Fun. I saw on Instagram and I was like, are you in, everyone's
Starting point is 00:22:23 in Paris. I'm like, are you in Paris? And she's like, yeah. Um, and I was like, cool. We should meet up here. I actually have a new, I'm going to tell you guys something, my new rule. Tell me. I see things on the internet and then I write people and I say, Hey, we should meet up. And then they're like, yeah, yeah, that'd be fun. And then I, I'm waiting for them to hit. They know where I am. Like I get so sad when people invite me to things that I don't want to go, like, don't invite me to things I don't want to go to. I take it so personally. Like I'm, Hey, we're both in New York this week. We should see each other. And then like it's crickets. And then you get the text after they leave and they're like sorry we didn't get a chance to meet up I was like you didn't try
Starting point is 00:22:59 to meet up but like if you're the one that reaches out to them in the first place being like we should meet up then I feel like you should maybe be the one to make the plan but why is no one looking at my Instagram being like oh Kelsey's in Paris I should write her they might not be seeing it the algorithm is really the algorithm you know what you're right you're so right also Caitlin you've known her for a gajillion years it's not like a weird friendship you guys are like actual friends. You should just text her and get together for a little like, you know, glass of champagne. I know. Sit outside and smoke a cigarette. I can't wait to smoke. I want to smoke a little bit. Like I need to smoke. The cigarettes in Europe are quite nice. And that is the only place
Starting point is 00:23:38 if you want. Oh, yes, please. My yes. That's the only place I do smoke. So maybe I should bring slim. I shouldn't bring it back over because I feel like, yeah, no, keep it for your days with a brand new baby, a little sick in the mouth, little, little Finley Martin. And, um, I just want to tell you one last thing. I did something on this flight that I've never done before. And you guys are gonna make fun of me, but I wore a sweat pant jeans. Oh, is it the rag and bone ones? No, it's a version from Marshall's. It's a do. Um, but guys having pockets on a pant, like, you know, I've been a legging traveler for a long time, a nice loose legging jean or sweat jean i'm not mad at her i actually no good i was gonna say the
Starting point is 00:24:25 who also has a really good sweat pant jean is gap and z supply i have been looking for these things okay the rag and bone ones are very good really my friends will be wearing them and i won't even know that they're fake oh yeah also jack the reel of you talking about are you gen z went viral You're welcome. It's the ugliest picture of you I've ever seen. Oh, yeah. Because the only thing
Starting point is 00:24:50 that ever gets seen by anybody is when I look the fugliest and I'm talking about nothing and nothing that I'm passionate about. So great. No, I literally have the biggest. OK, let me just tell you one more thing before we go.
Starting point is 00:25:06 OK. A woman last week made a video, a tutorial course on how to yap on the Internet. Did you see that? I saw that. I tried. I tried. I tried to yap yesterday because I'm like, I need some more videos of me like talking to camera and stuff because like I don't share my personality on Instagram. Nope. Died. Failed. It took me two hours to film a one minute video because all I
Starting point is 00:25:30 did is overthink myself. Maybe you need to get the yap course. She sells it for $275. Her first drop made $1.2 million and she extended it and another drop and made another million dollars. My whole like women's empowerment group is all they do is talk about the app. I don't want to pay $300. I know that's so insane. But it sounds like you might need the course, Jack. Well, I do. The course is how to yap and it's a yap challenge.
Starting point is 00:25:55 So every day you go in and you have to post your yap video. But I, I, I, I, I don't know. What's the end goal? You know what I mean? What's the end goal? To get more followers? To get money so you can go to Paris and buy the cigarettes. you like with baby finley the problem is is like nobody's
Starting point is 00:26:14 i don't know anything yeah like so even if you do this and then you get some engagement and then blah blah it's like you have to commit to some shtick and then you're stuck with it for the rest of your life on the internet if you want to make people don't like it when you change people that michaela that michaela makeup influencer she got rich and skinny and blonde and now people hate her Oh, I don't know who that is. No, people don't like when you change anything at all, period. Don't change. It's why people still love us, because we have stayed rinky-dink, rinky-dink.
Starting point is 00:26:50 Very middle of the road. We've upgraded nothing. Okay. Kelsey's actually downgraded her microphone. That's why she sounds so bad. I've downgraded my microphone and my life and my will to live. Thank you so much for bringing that up. my my to-do list is smaller than ever and my to-do list is just
Starting point is 00:27:11 like also do i want to be the in person like what's your claim to fame a yap i don't know i mean if she made millions of dollars i'll take that claim to fame on a course and courses are like the scammiest thing ever and they cost zero money i know she really did it i'm so mad about it anyway do a course on something remember when we tried to do a podcast course that was actually that was also like legitimate that pisses me off because it's like I know that's like actual nuts and bolts of creating a podcast it's not this like weird Amanda Francis manifest money like there's actual technical information in the course for podcasting yeah yeah like if you want to sound like shit get wi-fi in a hotel room in paris and use your airpods perfect yeah anyway i love you i
Starting point is 00:28:03 can't wait to live haircut it's gonna be i can't wait to see it you want to see what it's gonna be maybe inspo yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah okay i'll send i'm gonna show you some inspo right now we'll see if i get it but essentially it's gonna be a version of this oh my gosh obsessed you'll look so good with that you're gonna look so good yeah it'll look so good i just hope they don't give me too many I like it to be bitchy okay bye love you I'll be back soon stop doing that sorry you're listening to the lady gang hello everyone welcome to part two of this week's podcast now I told you earlier in part one that I was going to give you a Paris update um a little solo Paris update. So I'm here in my hotel in Paris to let you know that I got the world's worst haircut
Starting point is 00:28:54 and it's been traumatizing and I want to show you it. But if you're looking and watching on YouTube right now, you can see that I have a scarf on my head. I, I got tricked. There's many reasons why it went awry. Um, but first I'll tell you the great news. Paris is great. Hello to our Parisian lady gangers. Your city is amazing. We have shopped. I shopped so much. I have to send a box home of all the vintage scores. So I will definitely be making a video of all the scores, but also updating my Paris shopping list. So if you're, you know, a lot of you have DM me over the years being like, where's your vintage shopping list? And I gave them seven places to go. Well, now I can tell you that I have 28. Now some of them are good. Some of them are bad,
Starting point is 00:29:42 but I'm going to do a full rundown. I'm just have the flea market tomorrow. So I want to give like a full Paris review, but I've been eating all the pasta, you know, living on Coke zero, which is not as good as a crispy diet Coke, but close. And actually the reason that I wanted to just tell you about the haircut was because it's actually Becca's fault. Now, if you remember earlier in this episode, I showed them a picture of the picture of the look that I was going for. And Jack said nothing. If I remember correctly, it was four days ago and I've been in a trauma bubble. Becca was like, it's going to be so cute. This is going to look great on you. And I think two, a couple of things happened. Number one, Pinterest will really screw you up
Starting point is 00:30:28 because Pinterest made me believe that this hairstyle would look good on everybody. Like, you know what I mean? There were all kinds of girly pops with it. And also the algorithm was not, well, Pinterest, what I realized is that the photo that I showed the girls and then also the photo that I showed the hair cutter,
Starting point is 00:30:54 it was AI. So this is not even a haircut you can actually get. This was the most perfect French bob of all time. Now, I did show like many photos, but I actually blame the algorithm because when I started talking about, oh, I want to get bangs, I want to get this French bob, the algorithm on TikTok and Instagram and Pinterest started showing me all these girls that like went to Paris, got a French bob, chic girls and a French bob, like all these great videos. Let me tell you something.
Starting point is 00:31:23 when I was crying, I haven't fully cried actually very proud Chris, right? Yeah, he's giving a thumbs up because he's been so supportive during this difficult time. And when I started saying, I hate my Bob, I hate my Bob, this is horrible. And my phone was listening. Do you know what it's been feeding me now? It's feeding me what to do while you're growing out your bangs videos. And also I got the worst haircut of my life, Instagram reels. Like the internet knew and the internet fooled me. And I knew better. Like I've had bangs when we first met, but why are those bangs different than these bangs? Is it because I have more of a cowlick now in my older age? Is it because the way he cut it, it's very thin. So there's no weight to it. So it's just a little
Starting point is 00:32:15 spackling. Is it? Cause you remember, I think, I think it's a little too short too. I think I had a long kind of like, I did have a crest. I don't know. I've had bangs in my life that worked. Um, and I, again, I should have known better when I first started at E like three and a half years ago, we, David and I did a clip on bang look and literally everyone was like, never get bangs. It's horrible on you. Like, I don't know what happened. I'm mentally unwell. Obviously, if you listen to this podcast, you know that I am stressed about doing a book tour and having the book come out and all the things going on in life and my job changing and feeling weird. And then like all the people that I'm constantly making my enemies. And then I feel like sleep at
Starting point is 00:32:57 night. I'm like, everyone hates me. Like I'm not my best self. What I should have done is I should have spent that $750 I spent on getting my hair cut and colored in Paris thinking I'm going to come back like the chicest bitch under the block. And I should have just done retail therapy like a normal girl. Anyway, but darling Chris Knight, who's sitting right here, he's working, he's doing emails. I came back and like, you know, there's two kinds of husbands on the planet. And one husband is one that's like, what did you do to your hair? Like, actually, I forgot that I saved a TikTok and I wanted to walk in the room and get his reaction. But then I was so horrified by it that I couldn't even do like the funny TikTok
Starting point is 00:33:38 because those were joke TikToks, you know? But he would have had to really lie and I don't want that on film. So it was funny because I would like, he was like, oh yeah, good, nice. And then when I would point out something that was wrong with it, he'd be like, yeah, why is that?
Starting point is 00:33:56 So I was like, oh, it just was looking a little gray. They put like a very icy toner in it. It's been, I've washed it once. I'm gonna wash it one more time and it's gonna be better. You know when they like put that like purple, purple toner on you and you look like you have gray hair. So the first day I had like gray hair basically. And he's, I'm like at dinner and I said to him, yeah, and there's like this
Starting point is 00:34:16 tone. He's like, why is it gray? Anyway, so it's washed out, but he wasn't like, Ooh, yeah, it's gray. Then the bangs, he was, and then it was very sweet. Cause then I was looking on Pinterest for like what to do with the bang. And we came across this article that was like celebrities with and without bangs. And then he went photo by photo through all the celebrities, Dakota Johnson, Sabrina Carpenter. And he really gave me a breakdown of why he thought the bang worked and why the bang didn't work. He was like, the bang is not good on her. The bang is too short. See how this is. And then he came to the realization that the real problem with this haircut is that now, well, it's, first of all, it's a hundred degrees in Paris. I mean,
Starting point is 00:34:54 it is a crazy heat wave. So the whole underneath of my hair is curly. So the bob that we cut an inch has no weight. So it's going triangular out of my face. So it's not, and I don't have a flat iron or anything. So it's not chic down good. Like it's just poof ball. And then the bang down. So it's really giving like triangular Uma Thurman and the bang is hitting with my cowlicks on both sides and instead of going like cute bangs sleek bob it's giving triangle and then like hair sticking up like this and the guy terrible hair carter who will not be named did warn me he said oh yeah you have cow licks you're really gonna have to blow dry this and I was like yeah I get it like I blow dry my hair all the time I've had to blow dry like over my like I was like yeah I
Starting point is 00:35:46 know I even got a special blow dry brush knowing that I was gonna have bangs when I got to France um I can assure you that no amount of blood drawing this bang is going to help and so the truth is I'm wearing this scarf because I'm hoping that in one 10 days when we return to America that all of my healthy European food will have given me one centimeter of growth and I think that's going to be a game changer for the bang um but what Chris realized on the internet is that it's better if I have some, so I'm doing like a half up front down, which I did today. And like when it's brushed, any band girls out there will know when it's brushed, you're cute. I turned around to you. He's like, Oh, cute. But then you go out in the world and you do what
Starting point is 00:36:32 every girl does, which is you catch a side, a profile of you in the mirror at the change room. and every time I went to look it was like kid sprocket on my head um and so yeah I I that's really all I have to report from Paris I knew you guys were gonna be excited about it um I'll post a picture for this episode to let everyone know I am mostly disappointed because I spent the whole day that I was there getting my hair colored and cut making the most epic like transformational real. I even remembered to do like the before and then putting the hand up and then removing it so that I could remove my hot new haircut. And like all of that is now trash. Like I don't want to be an influencer anymore. I don't want to have to make reels. I just, I can't even, the guy was
Starting point is 00:37:24 like, I, I literally text him on Instagram to get this appointment. And he's going to be like, why did she never post or wear her bangs out? Like, he's going to see me wearing a headscarf and be like, wow, she hates her bangs. But also he should have warned me more. Like French English aside, then I had to text my hair person in LA and I was like, I don't understand why you didn't know I was mentally unwell enough
Starting point is 00:37:48 to be getting bangs and you couldn't feel it. And then she just basically was like, what have you done? Anyway, this has been 10 minutes of me complaining about bangs, but I know you guys were worried about me. Thank you for listening to the podcast.
