Starting point is 00:00:00 Well, what is this? Welcome to the Lady Gang. That's amazing. Say that again. The Lady Gang. Things are about to change around here. Each week, we catch up with Hollywood's hottest girl posse, Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek.
Starting point is 00:00:17 Hello, hello, hello. Welcome to the Lady Gang. I am Becca Tobin, here with Jack Vanek and Kelty Knight. Hello. Hello. Whoa. Oh, my God. How was your fitting yesterday, Kelty?
Starting point is 00:00:28 I know. You know what? Thank you for asking. It was so, I mean. Wait a second. You need to tease what the fitting is for. I think all of our listeners have no idea what it would even be for. I'm going to use it as my bad week, but just say that it was exciting.
Starting point is 00:00:46 Let's just jump into it. Should we? Okay. But also our listeners, unless they were at a live show, they don't even know your news yet. That's what I'm saying. And by the time this airs, it should be announced. But if not, we are breaking the announcement. Breaking news.
Starting point is 00:00:58 Just say a new job. I have a new job. and it involves clothes and a camera okay well then in that case it's time for good week yes it is bad week oh no healthy okay waiting with bated breath over here okay okay so you know that part yesterday was a full throttle completion of many things so it we had the last day of tour in denver and we had so much fun at the show, but by the time the Denver rolled around, you bitches got smart and you started coming up on stage and during the meet and greet and giving us shots and mixing alcohol. And because, you know, it's fun to get drunk, but normally I'm in control of
Starting point is 00:01:45 that. I'm in control of how drunk I'm getting and with what alcoholic beverages. But then the shots come and it's like, now we're having fireball. Now we're having this. And it is like, I have been hung over. I'm still wrong. I'm not right this morning. My stomach is like, so then we made the great decision of after the show, like eating a bunch of like, uh, Shake Shack, which like sat so well. And then I got to the airport in the morning and I was like, Oh my God, the only thing that's going to cure this hangover is like McDonald's, um, hash brown. Oh yeah. You know what I mean? Cause I was like, I just need to put something in my stomach. So I went into the fitting hungover after eating like garbage food at 12 o'clock at night and then a McDonald's
Starting point is 00:02:28 breakfast. So normally I would really Kelty this. I would have a workout. I would have a spray tan. I would be feeling the best about myself. Um, it's raining in LA. So I went over, my hair is like rained on anyway. So I went in and I'm wearing my menstrual cup cause I'm on day two of my period, which is the heaviest day for me. And it's like leaker McLeekerson. It's like everywhere is a leak so i did that thing where i did the third love thong so i could still do the fitting and then also the the the menstrual cup but i had just like it was what it could not be contained you know what i mean like it was like no i'm not gonna they have cute looks for you yeah so anyway i know you don't care about my period you know you're you care about the looks i mean we heard
Starting point is 00:03:08 we heard so much about your period at the denver live show i mean you wouldn't stop talking about how you were leaking everywhere too so yes it was a very leaky anyway so i don't i it's so strange you guys i feel like i feel like i'm six years old going to school for the first time i'm like in a building i don't know where anything is i don't know where the coffee machine is i don't know where i can get a sock like i ran et like i knew that i knew that office you need a safety pin that's black and i know to go in this drawer like i knew exactly where so this is like moving into a new house and i have no idea what's going on um and then it's not it right now when we're recording it's not announced yet so I'm like kind of like still hiding so I like hear people but
Starting point is 00:03:50 I'm like hiding so anyway the fitting was so fun I'm working with these three women who um run the department over there and they'll be dressing Justin Adrian and myself so I brought two suitcases of clothes that I already like like a black pant that fits me and then mother denim was so nice our friends at Lion PR they were like oh my god pick out any denim and they sent me like a box of like 15 different jeans black white whatever so like i have a whole jean situation which was amazing um and they just rolled in a rack and i think what was really cool about this job is that you know for so long it's been easy to dress in like a bright color dress and a heel and this this show is like a little bit more stylish so there's looks where i'm like in you know a a
Starting point is 00:04:34 button-down shirt with like a mini crop vest that's like plaid and orange and then like a jean And like, um, there's like these cool leather shorts with like a leather shirt. And then they're like, do you have a boot? Like I've never been able to wear a boot on television before. So, um, it was really cute. And then it was really fun. So last week we, the three of us, we went and we did access Hollywood date daily and we came and we looked really beautiful and the girls were really sweet.
Starting point is 00:04:57 Cause they knew this was basically like my Kinson Tara of, um, coming to work in this building. Kinsoniera? Kinsoniera. Yeah. But why, why would it be a Kinsoniera? You know, just like a coming out, like a party. And, and so it was really cute because every single person came up to me and they were like,
Starting point is 00:05:15 the lady gang is so amazing. The girls are so amazing. Your outfits were so great. You're so beautiful. You're the best people we've ever had, um, on that segment. And then they were like, we loved your outfit, the whole wardrobe team and the executive producers and the executives were like, that's what we want her to look like. Like, so it's was just such a nice change of pace from being told you're a hideous beast and to change everything about you um which was great celebrating the real culty yeah and it was cool also i don't like tearing down other women on this podcast but i do want to say there were three other women that were on the show they were taping pre-taping after us and i thought it was really hilarious that we got so many emails about how we were
Starting point is 00:06:01 their favorite guests ever and the three of us were just so dynamic i mean no but it is because we were comparing ourselves to these other three women who are stunningly gorgeous and i think this is a really nice lesson yeah that they like these three women i there's absolutely no flaw physically there's no flaw on any one of these women that were walking in after us and like a part of us I think each of us was a little bit like, oh, we're like the ugly stepsisters. Yeah, I felt that. Yeah, I felt that. And to get the email that we really delivered and we made people laugh and we made people feel good,
Starting point is 00:06:41 I think that's just such a life lesson as a woman. You don't always have to be beating yourself up over not physically bringing everything you want to the table because, quite frankly, that doesn't make – it doesn't leave other people feeling good. I mean, it's great. Yeah. Yeah. I remember something that you said to me, Becca, like a few years ago when we were doing Lady Gang TV and I was being really insecure about my looks and stuff. And you were like, people don't like us because we look like supermodels. Like people care about our
Starting point is 00:07:10 personality and like how we're, you know, and what we're talking about. And we don't need to look like these statuesque, beautiful people. And then, you know, you learn how to have a personality when you're not the hottest person in the world so go us bingo go us go us it was a it was a big win and it just feels so good to be somewhere where people are you know it's like it's breaking up with your bad boyfriend who like after all those years didn't love you anymore and you were like really trying to stay on and you know this is like this is fresh and it's new and like i just i sat in the cafe there's like this cafe around the corner from where we film and i sat with the ep um for like an hour after my fitting and we just like dreamed up what we want to do together
Starting point is 00:07:55 and it was just really cool like really really rad um i think it's a good job for you because you can kind of like sit in it a little bit and not be so stressed out and you're actually surrounded by people who value you and who care about you and you get to wear cool shit and i and it'll be good i'm so excited for you the fitting the fitting itself was terrible because you'd never want to try on clothes on day two of your period while you're having a little leak and you've just eaten fast food for two days like i was like imagine how good they're gonna look when you like feel your best that's what i said i said this dress does fit this dress fits to just pretend that it's not like the buttons are not pulling right now like i'm so bloated um but it was really
Starting point is 00:08:35 cool i'm i'm really excited um i just i just want to say this shake shack is not garbage food please stop referring to it as garbage food because it was fantastic i cannot tell you i had the chicken sandwich for the first time because you don't want to sleep on the shake shack burger it's delicious if you're a meat eater it's so good but don't you dare miss out on that chicken sandwich what the it was so good it's everything's good shroom burger is amazing cheese fries unbelievable not an ad but this is they're so good it's i had two in 24 hours i think that was my problem yeah could have been maybe my like or maybe my success yeah or maybe the light of my life well that could be my good week is that chicken sandwich because i haven't stopped
Starting point is 00:09:21 thinking about it are you serious you were you were pretty speechless when you're eating it i i don't quiet do you know what it is i think because my entire childhood into teenage years like tweens into teens i a thousand percent would always order a chicken sandwich wherever i was whatever restaurant for some reason it always hit the spot and i think that deep down that is that is my food you are that's who i am grilled or fried i could go either way the one at shake shack is fried and it is epic i have a controversial opinion regarding a chicken sandwich oh okay go i love a cheese on a chicken sandwich and i feel like some people think that that is blasphemy like cheese and chicken sandwich is not allowed no i think it's definitely allowed and they do
Starting point is 00:10:18 it at chick-fil-a now so yours didn't have cheese on it though did it no you need to add it but what's weird to me is when you said the cheese on the chick-fil-a that the fish and cheese is an odd choice for me. I love a, I love a fish filet. Love a fish filet. Chick filet is not fish, but a fish filet from McDonald's. Yeah. We've moved out. Oh, oh, I thought you were saying, okay, no. Yeah. That people do do. You're not really supposed to do cheese and fish together. That's like a big no, no. But I think when it's that fried, it doesn't matter. It's like barely fish at that point. It's yeah. I mean, it's, it is it fish? Who knows? Good week, Becca. That was my good week. Do you have a bad week? My bad week is this. I made a realization during the live
Starting point is 00:11:00 shows as something that I, I hold a power that is dangerous. Ooh. Yep. Because I realized at every live show, if I was too dark, if I went too dark, Kelty followed, you know, that all I do is just do what you do. Um, yes, but like, it's different when it's actually energetically. I mean, yes, I'll say something and then you'll steal my joke the next show, but that's fine. That's part of being a team. But I was like, she really does. Yeah, she does. It's it's it, but I kind of enjoy it at this point. Cause I'm like, you know what? I'm like the writer for the, I'm the writer for the live shows. And you're like, here it comes. You know exactly what joke it's going to be too. There's there it's like, and by the end it was like, I don't know who even thought of
Starting point is 00:11:49 this joke because it was like so shared, you know, which is the traveling joke. Yeah, it's fine. So, um, so anyways, I, but then energetically there were a couple shows where I, because it's like the podcast, it doesn't happen when we're podcasting. Um, it's very odd, but some days like my role on the lady gang is the, at the live shows. Um, we're all very much like caricatures of ourself. I mean, yes, it's us, but it's us like pumped up to like 110% versus what I normally give it like a 60. Um, and so I, I found it the live shows where I was like bringing a little more darkness. I, the show would go to the depths of hell and Denver started there. And I made the realization halfway through the show. And then I realized I needed to turn around the energy and
Starting point is 00:12:43 then it actually worked and Kelty followed. And it was one of Kelty's best performances at the end. Yes. Now I don't want to say that I am like all powerful Oz, but I kept, I kept realizing there were times we were all on stage and I'm like, why do the three of us act like we hate each other? Like, why are we acting like we hate each other? Because if you were in the audience of some of those shows, I can't remember specifically which ones they would have left being like, they're only doing this because they're making money at this point they hate each other and i'm like that's the wrong message that's not the truth i'm supposed to be the one who hates everyone and everything and you guys have to stay in your power of who you are yes i have i did notice it there
Starting point is 00:13:28 was one show it was in the middle where because i'm always at like a i'm a low energy slow steady energy but that's just who i am and i'm accepting that and kelty is usually usually high energy if you give her the right if you give her the right you know whatever and then you can go you go like you can go low or high like you can go chill energy and then you can go high energy but that is true that it dictates what kelty does because there was like a show i maybe it was columbus i don't remember but that show was a disaster anyways that you were just like chill and then kelsey went chill and then i'm like we can't have three chill people like i can i can only be the chill person yeah no and like then it gets weird it gets weird and if i make too many snide comments
Starting point is 00:14:14 which i think people really come to the lady gang for part a part of why they come it's like i'm the subconscious like demon on their shoulder i had to really watch how dark those comments got in denver because i i was really steering the ship and the captain bitch the captain and i made it in my bad week is that i realized this too late so uh you mean you could have had a much different tour well apologies to anybody who was in the audience who left there telling their friends that we all hated each other it was all my fault i don't think denver i think that you think denver was worse than it was i think especially once kelty got a shot in her then it was really fun then do you her all of her dance moves I mean no it was great but I think it was there was a there
Starting point is 00:14:57 was a little pocket of time where I was like oh this is what's happening and I had to you know really shift and adjust I wonder if anybody at Denver noticed I'm trying to think of an example to be honest but it ended up being a great show because we had a lot of shots um so my good week was basically we're done with the tour. It was a wild ride. These last three shows were actually so fun. Um, I think that Phoenix was my favorite show that we had all tour. I don't know what it was. Um, because you guys didn't know anybody there. I knew all of Jared's band came, which was amazing. They played the man game, which I don't think we've talked about on the podcast cause we're trying to keep it secret. So girls didn't find out, but it was basically we'd call
Starting point is 00:15:44 the guys up on stage and then they'd have to label parts of the female reproductive system it was iconic it was amazing these men do not know a fucking vagina if it was staring at him in the face um so we brought jared's band up there they were actually pretty good i feel like in the scheme of things they were good um but dude i don't know what it was that night but kelty night was peak performance she was on fuego um after the show you were also on fuego i have a video of me ripping your dress off of you and you look like you're a demogorgon and from stranger things and it was just it was so fun and then also the men in denver are so hot they are what was it menver menver is single ladies get out there dude it's because i mean i know you're in austin now
Starting point is 00:16:40 becca but like we're used to seeing like the pretty boys of la yeah denver is a man who's like we got to make sure we have wood for the winter yes and i love that vibe they're ll bean you know they're they're wearing their vest and they're chopping wood and they're burly so hot we had all three guys that we pulled up on stage i was like i am so attracted to all of you all of them cool jobs one of them was an emt one of them was like a bomb specialist engineer like a bomb engineer where he like learns all how to detonate bombs which is just like could that be any more sexual and he was so unassuming he was like the elder emo of the group i was like oh you like the use come on up here and he's like yeah i detonate or i know how to de-detonate bombs
Starting point is 00:17:25 yeah and i don't know what you're doing in denver with that but yeah the finance one of them look like um uh what's the guy john cena cena oh yeah ryan ryan oh yeah they were all so hot so that was my good week it was nice to like look at all the men and it was there was a good last three shows um my bad week is we've been flying a lot obviously we're going to all these shows and i am a delta flyer i am i love it i always like to fly delta when i can i have status it's great but sometimes i have to fly a different airline and i had to fly this specific airline um they're cheaper they they have an interesting boarding process it's a whole thing so i was flying this airline southwest and i forgot i don't fly southwest often like i really i haven't flown
Starting point is 00:18:19 it in forever. So I kind of forgot about how everything works. Like they're quirky, they're fun. And I'm getting on this flight. I can't remember where I was flying back from, but I was hungover as and I'm on this flight. And then all of a sudden the flight attendant starts singing and they're singing all of the directions of putting your seatbelt on, like bursting at like, it was just, it was a whole thing that lasted way too long. And we take off, we land, she starts singing again she's she's doing this for like 10 minutes and i was like oh my god that was like a really horrible experience and then i go to exit the plane i was with jared so i really don't know where i was coming from and we go to leave and she hugs jared no as he's sleeping and i was like
Starting point is 00:19:05 oh my god she's a fan that's weird i don't know and or maybe because she thought he was cute and then i go to leave she hugs me and then i realize she's hugging every passenger no as they're leaving ma'am it's flu season it's covid oh my god it's like so funny they have no hr at southwest no i know they really can do whatever they want probably winning prizes every year for her excellent customer service and it is i know customer service but i it needs to be one of those things have you seen on tiktok when the teacher brings the kids in in the morning and they get to hit what they want they want to high five they want to hug yeah and it's like you get to choose your emotional, like what I'm available for another human to give me right now. It's like
Starting point is 00:19:50 when you do Uber and you can do the quiet mode or like, you can be like, I like to chat or whatever. Lately that has been working for me and it's really satisfying. Quiet Uber. Yeah. I would like to have a quiet mode. I'm like, God damn it. I love Delta. It's just, it is quiet mode. They like announced the seatbelt thing, like very, it's short and sweet, but that, and I know some people love that i feel like people if they're excited to go to vegas you want to be on a southwest flight because they get you pumped the fuck up you want that song you know you want that hug when you're drinking your screwdrivers on the plane you're kind of drunk it's like you want that extra little boost yeah when alex and i were flying to denver from la for the denver show
Starting point is 00:20:31 there was a woman in line behind us that we got to the airport it was a little like a little bit of a line did not have a great check-in situation and the woman behind us like could not stop narrating what was happening. It was as if air travel had just been discovered yesterday and she'd never stood in a line before. She's like, wow, this is quite a line. Yes, ma'am. We can all see that. None of us want to be here. All of us wish the line was moving faster. We got to the front. She was looking at the helpers deciding who she thought we, because we had a lot of luggage, should go to who looked the smartest. You should go to her. She really looks like she knows what she's doing. Ma'am, I'll be going to whoever opens up first.
Starting point is 00:21:09 thank you for nothing and then i was like oh my god and then we finally got through outside look at each other roll our eyes and we're like god we are just assholes like we have no joy left in our life we get on the plane we find our seats obviously and then who comes down the aisle and she's like hey guys we made it oh god oh my god it's air travel you stand in the line you check in and then you get on the airplane like we're all making it there was never a doubt we were there an hour and 15 minutes early it's a domestic flight like there was never a doubt this was not, Oh my God, the plane takes off in 10 minutes and I'm sweating. And like, I'm running through the airport. Like we just did the thing anyway. It was like the things that people see
Starting point is 00:21:46 as miraculous. I'm like, I'm going to need you to calm down. That's all. I actually had a controversial thought. I've been roasting on Southwest at a lot of our live shows just because like the boarding process and the people that like try to save seats with weird items. It's so weird that I still have a real problem with. I, every Southwest plane that I've been on has been new and there's been more room in the seats. Yep. I agree. No, I would rather go Southwest than United. I saw, I saw a thing recently about, I don't know why I was reading an article about like the seat, the pitches of the seat or whatever. And Southwest has the largest, uh, room between the two seats. So what I've decided I'm going to do when I have to fly
Starting point is 00:22:31 southwest i'm just gonna pay the extra to be in that first boarding bullshit like you know what i mean the like you might still get a hug because i was in the first a hug is fine a middle seat is not so there we go i love it well in the spirit of giving it is the annual gift guide for the lady gang when we come back we're gonna tell you exactly what to get everyone on your list this episode of lady gang is brought to you by next evo naturals if you're feeling stressed having trouble sleeping you feel like you take something and then it takes an hour to work you want something fast acting absorbs easily then let me introduce to you the cbd that has literally changed my sleep if you've ever taken cbd and you're like i'm not sure if it's working

We have a new and improved gift guide this year because not only are we going to talk you through what we think would work in every situation of your life, but we're also putting it up on our website
Starting point is 00:26:59 for the first time ever. You can literally go to theladygang.com, go to gift guide, and everything we talk about today is going to be living right there, clickety-clack-clack, and you can get it. And this is not the goop gift guide with a $30,000 sex bench. This is the cheapest, the cheapest, best, most meaningful thing you can get quickly. That will not all
Starting point is 00:27:23 cheap. They're not all cheap. They're not all cheap, but they're all prime, which means you can get this on December 22nd if you need to. Yeah. We're just ready. Like I don't have the effort that, you know, and I, I will do like my mom is making some presents for me cause she's great crochet or like, I will do some meaningful presents. This is the get your gifts done list by the lady gang. So we're going to start because the most important thing is best friends. Becca Tobin. What? I mean, first of all, we should caveat this with Becca doesn't give gifts and she's not interested in a holiday gift at all, but she did this for the betterment of you. Yes. Um, no, I, I think adults giving adults gifts is weird, but anyways, here we go. The
Starting point is 00:28:05 best friend's gift my first one is um it is the v-line lifting hydrogel collagen mask let me explain what this is you've probably seen some beauty influencers on instagram with these like chin strap looking uh masks it goes around the ear what's that one in florida yeah yeah she always wears it always she swears by it i did it yesterday because i was so hung over and i had to put an audition on tape and look younger than I am. So I did a little bit of that and I do feel that it makes a difference. I did some side-by-sides. It's hard to get a good profile shot of yourself alone, but it does work. And I think that your best friend's the only person that would not be offended by you giving them a double chin mask strap for their face.
Starting point is 00:28:53 And that's the, that's on the cheaper end or less expensive end. And I think that is um, about 16, $17. It's a good stocking stuff or two. And a lot of them come in, in the box. Now my high roller gift is something that I love so much. And we all love the solo wave. It is the red light right here. Cause I was going to see if I could solo wave while we podcast, but I, you can hear it. You can't, I can't hear it. Great. No. Okay. So it's the four in one facial wand. It is basically anti-aging and it also massages. So it's great for like wrinkles, I do. This is one of the things that I actually do see a difference when I am using it regularly versus not. It's not miraculous. You don't look like a new person, but you look like a refreshed
Starting point is 00:29:41 person. Um, and red light therapy is like one of the things that has actually been clinically tested. And so, you know, it's not snake oil. I also like that they made it so small. It's like you can, if you want to put it in your purse while you're driving, where you need to go, like at school pick up. Like it's, it is a good, it looks like a razor. Like that's the size of it. It is $170, but it does come with the serum to use with it. So I love it. It's great. It's wonderful. If you love your best friend, check it out. Okay. So if you don't keep it for my friend, you know, I'm always giving a book, um, and I'm giving book to people that don't read. And I feel like it's fine. Cause you can, if you don't read, you can just have it on your side
Starting point is 00:30:24 table. Um, I, I've just given this book to Becca, uh, lent her one and I'm giving it to a bunch of people at Christmas. Cause I think it's just one of those great reads. And so Matt Hegg, who, and this is actually the book, um, of the book club this month, he wrote this book on notes from a nervous planet. And then he also has another book called how to stay alive. That sounds very intense. It's not that intense, but they sell them as a two pack. One's a black cover and one's a white cover and they sell them as a two pack, um, as a gift and they come together. and they're kind of companion readings like one the how to stay alive is his like sort of memoir about you know just like staying on top of his mental illness and then notes from a nervous
Starting point is 00:31:03 planet is like just how to get on in the world when social media and the world and all this pressure is happening and it's a really easy read it's a great bathtub read it's a great beach read it's a little sad but it's also like the kind of book you want to read over the holiday break to like get your soul in the right position for a new year. So that's mine. I love that. Yeah. And also wrap up so cute. Like, you know, if you're like me and you like to have the presence under the tree that are like wrapped beautifully, a book, very easy to wrap. So for mine, I tried to find the Barefoot Dreams robe that I wear literally every day, best purchase of my life. But they sell some Barefoot Dreams stuff on Amazon, but I did find
Starting point is 00:31:47 a barefoot dreams knockoff blanket on amazon it literally is the one that i'm wearing right now but it is like a third of the price i think it's like 40 bucks or something like that um and it is this is like the best thing i've ever purchased i use barefoot dreams like in all assets of my life and they're really cute they're leopard they have a bunch of different colorways so i think it's such a good gift that'll be useful that you can give your best friend and they're great the other day chris came upstairs someone one of his clients gave him a barefoot robes dream a couple years ago for christmas or sorry barefoot dreams robe um and i came upstairs and i was like even though we hate that person this was a great gift because he's like used it
Starting point is 00:32:33 for years it's like so high quality and wonderful i got my agent a bust i got my agent a barefoot dreams blanket like six christmases ago and she still talks about it being one of the best gifts so listen that's great wow and these knockoffs I mean they're pretty much the same yeah it's probably made the same factory okay co-worker acquaintance mine is also on Amazon this is a book because I think that this is book is kind of like a in between a coffee table book and then like a book book that you have on your night on your bedside table and it was given to me by a friend of mine who whose husband whose husband actually works with Brene Brown and um she had like early copies of this book and she brought it to me and I was very excited. It's Brene Brown's
Starting point is 00:33:16 newest book, Atlas of the Heart, mapping meaningful connection and link and the language of human experience. It's great because similarly to a lady gang book, it's not like a heavy lift read, but there's a lot in here, which is like, it's exactly what it says. It maps out all of these emotions. And there's a lot of like full pages with quotes, but I think it's nice because a lot of us have, we take it for granted that we've had therapy, that we have conversations, meaningful conversations with everybody in our lives, but there's people out there who are just starting to kind of discover that there's more to life than just being sad, happy, and angry. There's all these emotions in between. Like I even was picking up this book and reading through some,
Starting point is 00:34:05 some of the, um, like the difference between jealousy and, um, jealousy and envy or something like that. Anyways, it's just like you learn, I learned something new and I feel like I'm pretty like well-versed in feelings. So I think it's a good book. It's beautiful looking too. So it looks good on any table. And I think it's like under 12, under $20. Great hardcover. I'm going back for my coworkers acquaintance. I'm going back to the same thing. I say every year, a magazine subscription, $12. It's a super affordable gift. It comes to them. Like they basically are paying you to sign up because they just want, you know, circulation, but you can pick like a vanity fair or a New Yorker or maybe like a Magnolia journal or whatever they're into. Get the first episode,
Starting point is 00:34:55 get the first one at the store, wrap it up. And then every single month, they're going to think of you when they get a little delight. Like, do I want to pay for a magazine? No, because I flip through it and then I'm done. But like, is it fun to be sitting outside or sitting with my coffee or just like, you know, in a bathtub, like looking through a magazine? Am I reading all the articles in Vanity Fair? No, skipping through. Anyway, it's a great gift. I actually thought of that yesterday. I bought Delish magazine at Whole Foods and I was like, this is a wonderful gift for like a mother-in-law if she likes to cook. It's like so, so pretty, so festive. It's exciting to get a real magazine yeah i also just like the idea of doing a subscription for a gift because there's
Starting point is 00:35:35 like a subscription for literally everything any kind of thing that you could be into there's like a hot sauce subscription there's a whiskey subscription there's like anything that you could think of so i think that's a really good if you can't think of what to do gift yep um for mine i'm going back to basics i love a candle and i love nest candles they're like my favorite brand they have the best sense in the entire world so i think for mine what did i do i just did the holiday scented classic candle right now i'm burning their pumpkin spice candle like as we speak it is so delicious and i think that nest is like a good brand that like everybody knows is a little bit fancy so it'll be like a nice gift um but it's still affordable enough to
Starting point is 00:36:22 you know get a co-worker okay and as your co-worker don't give me a candle why okay i have so many candles i have an entire new kitchen that has a whole section that's just candles i have not burnt yet i'm i'm very behind on my candle usage that's why i just lit a candle when we start the podcast because i'm trying candle more okay white elephant white elephant okay so my white elephant which i gave or was part of one of mine a couple years ago is the steady going strong for year after year in the lady gang the womanizer vibrator hell yeah because so good yeah because it's kind of crazy it's not a gift that you would ever genuinely wrap up to give to anyone other than your significant other maybe your best friend but still weird yeah um and they have for a long time
Starting point is 00:37:19 it was really hard to track down the good womanizer, the good, the good model, the good supply chain issues. Yep. Supply chain. But guess what? They have white and black available on right now. Pick your poison. No, the white one right now says only once in stock. I need a new one. This might be mine. Anyways, a hundred dollars. A lot of the time, the white elephants are, they range from like a hundred dollars to $20. If you're in a price, you're a group of friends. If you're fancy friends, the womanizer is always, but you have to sell it. You have to be willing to sell it when somebody opens up that surprise gift because otherwise it's going to go to the wayside you have to say exactly what it does and why it's the best thing ever yeah i was
Starting point is 00:37:58 going to i did see that in your list because i was gonna put the magic wand you know like the massager that like if you have never had an orgasm before like this is your best friend um so that is another option if you want to go proper massager yeah it's like this big i'm like putting my hands like a foot it's an old school one it's an old school city one yeah yeah it has like the big head on it it's not going in you it's just like a vibrates but you have to plug it in because it's so goddamn strong so i always say that i had to i recommended it to one of our our friends that is having trouble orgasming i'm like if you can't orgasm with this then maybe go seek some help because Alexa pro this may be, Oh God. Okay. Well, mine is $20 and it's the original alcohol
Starting point is 00:38:50 shotgun. I like a white elephant that can then turn the party up. Yes. So what this is, is it's now I don't like even looking at the shape of a gun and I'm not a like kids play with guns kind of thing. I'm making an exception for the shotgun. So it's like a giant, it basically looks like a a penis pump, if you will, you fill it with alcohol and then you could just get that steady stream into your friend's mouth. And this is where you open it up and you're like, Oh my God, I got this every holiday party. Well, not every, but most holiday parties will have some sort of alcohol and then everyone will fight over this. And then when the white elephant is over, we'll do shots. And it's, I mean, I won't ever do a shot again, but it will be a fun party and it's
Starting point is 00:39:35 cheap white elephant and it's something that i hadn't really seen before so i was excited i do love that on um southern charm they had this thing where patricia the older fancy lady and two of the other girls they had the champagne shooter thing it's called the like what's it called it's perfect for jack it's a champagne glass but the stem is curved under it's like a straw so you literally just take the straw and it empties out the champagne glass it's pretty good i can't i'm gonna look up the name it's very hard to chug champagne i will say as a champagne drinker yeah it's that another thing that i feel like i just remembered it that i think would be really good we could put it on the list in that realm is the flabongo and that is basically one of those
Starting point is 00:40:21 flamingo like the plastic flamingos yeah but they've cut out that uh in the mouth and underneath and you pour the beer in and then you drink the beer upside down in the flamingo and it really turns the party up as somebody who has firsthand experience uh it might be more of a summer thing but flabongos they're a party starter nothing says gather the chestnuts are roasting on the open fire the flabongo with the flabongo um two for forty dollars on prime i love it um so i did a lot of like really cheap ones because we had like an affordable version of the um whatever so at a white elephant gift party that i have been to that i brought my gift it was a hit and it was a pair of blobfish slippers so i was trying they're so you guys know what a blobfish looks
Starting point is 00:41:12 like right yes they're like my one of my favorite animals um just like an ugly sluggy thing and unfortunately i just learned that they only look like that after they have died they don't look like that in life um so that makes me really sad wow because they live in like the depths of the ocean and then once you like bring them back up to like normal um gravity they die anyways so that's sad but they're really cute so when i was looking for that i found a blobfish um like a like a squishy toy like an anxiety squishy toy yeah eight dollars really cute um and then what else did i find oh becca you will hate this cool while i was looking for white elephant gifts i found the muffler but somebody else excuse me hadn't been today and it's called subtle but
Starting point is 00:42:01 disposable gas neutralizers that is a great name five saving graces takes the bad part out of the fart also genius also i hope mr wonderful is kicking himself right now for not investing in our idea i know subtle but you're right subtle but and they're cheap i mean it's 12.99 they have 2 000 ratings four out of five stars pretty good if you ask me damn but yeah you can just put them on i wish people would wear these on airplanes oh my god the airplane farts okay they should offer them they should give them out like when they give the like hand sanitizer now and yeah headphones. Starting point is 00:44:45 Prices vary based on how you buy. You're listening to The Lady Gang. All right. We have tons of categories. Work best friends, sister, brother-in-law, hostess, children, boss, mom, dad. um, one thing I, uh, I want to do lovers and I wanted to start with things that I like, my husband's always like, what do you want for Christmas? And this year I was like, nothing as I always do. Um, but I just saw one that you put in there, Kelsey. So anyway, um, so I,
Starting point is 00:45:25 we're going to do lovers and then you guys can check out the site for everything else. But I do want to say that there is a really good and like sponsor for Lady Gang that I just want to like highlight that could be great for the holiday season. It's called Olive Ave and it's a beautiful fine jewelry company, but the jewelry is like pretty inexpensive. And it's like our people in LA always go to this place called like 21 carats or whatever, where it's like, you get, you know, little bracelets and rings and earrings. And like, it's nice fine jewelry, but it's like inexpensive. They have the most beautiful gemstone rings and like vintage-y looking emeralds and rubies. And anyway, if you're looking for like that kind of gift and you want to like
Starting point is 00:46:06 send your lover and be like, I would love this for Christmas. Or if you're like looking to get engaged, even the engaged rings are so pretty. Anyway, what are we giving our lovers? I'll start. Chris Knight is getting a sexual play outfit. It is... That's what I saw. I was like, oh. you know what i gotta get i got the holidays coming up and i gotta get bad i gotta end this year with a bang a literal bang so it is a little like neck cuff that has a leather like it's a leather daddy outfit restraint and then it's a sexual restraint but they're normally so expensive and i know you're just going to use it once and it's like for a one-time only kind of thing anyway i put yes i did kelty knight i put a sexual restraint i want to take away the shame
Starting point is 00:46:48 of you spicing up your sex life this year and shame in that there's shame everyone's like oh it's like i'm the whitney rose of the lady gang and i'm gonna naked paint with you and that's it enjoy oh you know what i got that naked painting thing years ago for christmas that's actually a really good gift where they like do you guys know what it is yeah whitney rose's husband got fired on tv oh it's the housewives yeah i did get it like that was one of our first christmases i got it we never used it what's it called again like the art of love i tried to use it but it's not anyway it's not like that fun to have scoochies in your butt oh yeah i mean i'm sure whatever what are you guys getting your lover or what's on your lover's list i'll go go jack so i have
Starting point is 00:47:37 an expensive one and then i have a really cheap one and i've got uh one of them jared got me this is so goddamn cheesy but i loved it so when we first started dating we were long distance and he got me this thing called the love box and it's this little wooden box that you plug in and your partner can basically like send messages and pictures to the little box it's like this big and it has a little heart on it and when you have a new message the heart spins so it's really cute because obviously we'd be texting and calling all day but like he would send these like really special messages to the little box and it was so sweet and i think that is it's like the cutest gift it's called the love box and it's on prime oh my god yeah is it weird
Starting point is 00:48:24 if i get it for like my niece and nephew no it's so it's so cute for kids i think it's like yeah you definitely should that's so cute yeah red one jack so and it's like it's like 100 bucks but i think it's good because obviously i'm a really creative gift giver and jerry's not as creative so that was like a really thoughtful and it's so adorable it's an actual wooden box yeah it's really cute oh my god i have it in my kitchen right now we don't use it anymore um okay so that was like the uh and that the sweet it's not cheap either you said it was inexpensive no that's the expensive one this is the inexpensive gift okay jared has used this gift every week since i got it from last christmas it's called the beard king beard rib apron
Starting point is 00:49:09 you basically it's an apron that a man wears it goes around their neck and then it uh you can attach it to your mirror so when they shave their beard shavings fall into the little the little apron and they don't get all over your bathroom it is so useful he uses it all the time it is 11 highly recommend that's cool that's a game changer game changer cool i could do you have a lover one oh yeah i mean i i'm so lame but on my list is a kindle because i left mine in spain and i just think it's a really nice gift to get yourself and or for your lover and then i also think if your lover is an adventurous type or just likes to drink alcohol or beverages in general any yeti product is great like i think that they've really figured it out and they have this
Starting point is 00:49:57 one small soft cooler comes in a lot of colors but i think it really just comes in handy whether you're going to like a kid's sporting event or you're going camping or you're going tailgating and it's like durable it's it's chic looking so you don't feel like weird with those igloo coolers you know like from your childhood the like plastic oh yeah um and it's nice it lasts a long time. I love Yeti shit. They're great. I always think at the beginning of this episode, I'm like, this is so boring. No one's going to want to listen to us like talk about gifts. And then by the end of it, I'm like, thank God we did this because it has really like cleared up, gotten me ready. Like now I have great ideas. You know what I mean? So this year
