Starting point is 00:00:38 The Lady Gang. Things are about to change around here. Each week, we catch up with Hollywood's hottest girl posse, Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek. Hello, hello, hello. Welcome to the Lady Gang. I am Becca Tobin, here with Jack Vanek and Kelty Knight, and we have moved mountains today.
Starting point is 00:00:56 The things that we do to get a podcast out and hopefully it not sounding like absolute garbage. Wowie wowie. It's just like, what year are we at? Like, what year are we f***ing at? These are 2020 problems that we're having right now. I feel like Mercury went out of retrograde and retrograde is still haunting the f*** out of me. That's all. It'll never leave.
Starting point is 00:01:21 I think it's just we all just, it's not even Mercury in retrograde. it's just technology is hard always technology's hard we're we're trying to get through it but here we are i'm also i'm proud of us because i was thinking back when jared was just talking kelty through her audio for like why why it's sounding weird whatever um our lingo is really elevated do you know what i mean we really know what we're talking about a lot of the time and when we first set up this zoom recording we were a hot mess so i'm proud of us yeah we're talking in technological jargon you know dongles and ethernet and uh dongles echo cancellation like we're here we've arrived i think the fact that jared currently has like an almost top five song on the radio
Starting point is 00:02:10 and like a big band and he's like guilty going to prefaces and press echo cancellation and i'm like it's only six and a half years we've been doing this podcast like thank god for jared i know he's really saving i mean it's like he's he's on call 24 7 which we really need for this podcast yeah thank god he's part of the fam because if this was an employee they would be like i quit oh for sure um this actually really goes nicely with my uh good week bad week so i feel like it's a great segue to start it's time for good week yes it is bad week oh no what is it called eating crow what eating crow is the saying when it's like you know have you heard that before i've okay legitimately never heard that before in my entire
Starting point is 00:03:00 life i'm looking up the true meaning because i don't want to get it wrong it's when like you think you're right about something and then you have to like bashfully like eat crow like right put your foot in your mouth kind of thing to admit that one was wrong or accept that one has been defeated okay okay it's a hard thing to do i do it often um but this time around was tough i don't know if i talked about this on the podcast yet but i've been tapering off of my anti-anxiety medication because i just don't feel i i don't feel that i need it at the moment um it's also like sometimes for that stuff it's a season for whatever season of life you're in mine in particular was like a baby was growing inside of another human that was mine
Starting point is 00:03:45 so it was a little bit stressful um and hopefully so i think just a little just a little stressful the most precious cargo that i'll ever own ever will own in my life is being in someone else's as my friend would say he came on another bus he just he got to you but he came on a on a different bus. Um, so anyways, I was on anti-anxiety medication, but then I started to notice that I was feeling a little doled out and moments that I normally would have been super joyful or super sad. Like I couldn't cry. Like I got to this point in my life where I, anything, there was nothing that could make me cry and I'm not a big crier as it is. So I need those like twice a year cries. It's very important. And then when those were coming, I was like, time to come off. I've been
Starting point is 00:04:29 weaning. I'm really proud of myself. I've been doing that with the help of my psychiatrist and I've been feeling good. I've been, I left Ford for many days and to go to New York, I didn't have anxiety. Like I've been really, really good. Well, last night, Zach and I get into a fight and we don't fight often. And I'm like, we're in the middle of this fight. And Zach says to me, I don't want this to come across wrong, but could this have anything to do with you tapering off of a medication? And I was like, no, it's for anxiety. It's not for any other reason. And this is not about my anxiety. And then I go for a walk this morning and I'm talking to my sister and I said, I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I realized that
Starting point is 00:05:11 this entire time I've been on my medication, I have not fought with Zach. And then the month I come off of it, we have one of our biggest arguments and we have had a baby for four months of our life. It's, it's been a stressful situation in this house. And yet we did not fight until yesterday. Do you actually think it has to do with the going off the meds or is it just a coincidence? I'm hoping to God that it is a coincidence, but I'm the good, good week in this is that I'm looking at it like this. A lot of the time when you go on these medications, it's like, I I'm finding that I am, I've retrained my brain a little bit. So I think what it's giving me an awareness that maybe I did have fights with Zach that was like kind of having a little bit to do
Starting point is 00:06:07 with, you know, some symptoms of anxiety. And so I have the awareness now and I'm thinking I can probably stop the moving train as it's going. If I'm starting to pick a fight or get angry and be like check in to see, but I don't know. It's hard. Marriage is hard. Mental health is hard. So stay tuned. Yeah. I guess you, um, won't know until it happens or doesn't happen again. So it's like a waiting game a little bit. It's tough. It's like, yeah. The thing that I'm thinking at this moment about this story is that the tricky situation you're going to be in is that the anxiety is what makes you like have the views of a toddler so it's like don't you feel like like for me it's like your calm best self Becca's like I'm gonna check in and I'm gonna
Starting point is 00:07:06 check myself and go for a walk but when you're in that moment where you're like pounding and you're elevated and like so much is going on my personal like I don't know about you but like doesn't your ability to be rational, just go out the window. Like I could never check myself and be like, I'm going to go for a walk. The world is not falling apart. Like I have to then just spin and spin and spin until I'm exhausted by my own spinning. And then I come to the realization I could have calmed down. Yes, I fully agree. And I've had those moments where it's kind of like when you start to meditate, nobody starts to meditate when they're feeling their shittiest. They do it when they're like, Oh my God, I'm so on my thing. I'm going to add
Starting point is 00:07:44 meditation to this and then it's like so great when you're in it and you think to yourself if only i could just do this when i actually really need it but you don't in those moments but this is the thing that i'm hoping that i'm maturing from and i'm just hoping that with each little hiccup like this the life cycle of it gets shorter so i think what happened last night was we had our little spiff spiffle oh my god i'm turning into kelty tiff spiffle yes know all about that and i i left the room and i was like i'm gonna just go and i walked to the other side of the house and i'm in the laundry room and i did start to cry and i thought hmm that was the first thing that really really like oh i have needed this for a while yes and i go oh my god
Starting point is 00:08:34 oh my god i'm crying and it's not over anything that that's that's even sad i'm just i'm i'm letting out some emotion so in that moment i was when i realized okay well here's the correlation i haven't been able to cry all this time on those meds and suddenly i'm able to cry but i'm also fighting with my husband for the first time since i've been on these meds so i did come back from the laundry room. We had a quick recovery and I have yet to admit to him that I think it's the meds because I just don't, I can't do it yet, but I will. Um, so I'm hoping, and that's all you can ask for because it is so frustrating when you have those moments when you're spiraling and you know what's going to be best for you, but you're spiraling. So why are you going to do that?
Starting point is 00:09:23 It's a self-destructive like that place to live in. And I just have a lot of empathy for anybody who ever deals with this because it is tough. Well, and it's kind of like you're almost making it like a self-fulfilling prophecy and your mind correlating like the medication to like the non spiral to the anxiety, to the fighting. It's like kind of connecting all of these things to each other, which is why the self-awareness like is great because maybe you can start picking up on those signs if it starts happening again. But again, when you're in it, it's like all bets are off it's so good luck it's tough and I am starting to see glimmers of my old self that I didn't love so much um come through but again the awareness is there so I do think that I can as long as that
Starting point is 00:10:10 awareness is there I do think that I can make these adjustments but it's yeah I'm actually reading a really good book about it it's called your shadow self and it's all the things that we like think that we really hate about ourselves. So all of our worst things, our worst traits, our worst things. And, um, I'm going to put this, I'm botching it already, but there it's called your shadow self. And you actually can't learn to love yourself until you really start to love even those really things that you think are really shitty about yourself. And it actually creates this really great thing where you start hating other people less. Cause a lot of the time when you hate somebody else, it's a projection of like the thing that you hate about yourself.
Starting point is 00:10:51 We all know this. And if you start to love that thing about yourself, then you can start to love that thing in somebody else and sort of accept those people. So a little woo woo, whatever. And I think I can't remember the name of the book, but I can post it on my Instagram. It's something about your shadow self. There can't be a lot of those out there. I love that you have a four month old and you're able to read a self-help book. Like it's just amazing. I'm constantly having to read self-help books because of therapy. No, it's really, it's really, I have a question for you just before we move on. Sorry. Is there any way you could just like lower the dose and stay on or not? I'm on the absolute, like smallest dose that you could possibly be on. Okay. So
Starting point is 00:11:29 I'm on like Xanax. This is like a daily thing. Yeah. So it's, it's Lexapro and I'm on five milligrams. I mean, I guess I could do 2.5. I don't even think they make the pill size. I'd have to cut it in half but um yeah godspeed godspeed little anxiety going off so wean it down baby this episode of lady gang is brought to you by pair eyewear and i think this company is so freaking cool so pair eyewear essentially you can go in you buy your base frame i chose the reese because it's just sort of that nerdy girl tortoise like very classic kind of laney box from she's all that glass that i love what's cool is that you can get single vision premium plus progressive, even life response lenses. So I apologize in advance. First thing is we just had a meeting before this podcast where we were talking about maybe a possible upcoming tour that we might be doing for our book and like some things that we
Starting point is 00:14:19 were going to incorporate in said tour. And we were talking to some other people that weren't just the three of us about maybe partnering together. And it was really exciting. And we like are going to like sign off the meeting and we're all talking about how excited we are and then kelty herself she goes i'm so excited for this with the most deadpan flat affect and flat face i've ever seen in my entire life like kelty looked like she was dead when she said how excited she was and it just brought me so much joy so maybe it is a good week i'm so excited for this same meeting that i set up with my contacts and my thing that kelty spearheaded and knew nothing about anything nothing about it sorry
Starting point is 00:15:12 i don't know how to be right now you're a struggle bus and you're a struggle bus and it will honestly shouldn't pick on you i just have very little like if i was a gas tank she's on empty she's on empty like nothing makes sense it's all a blur like i have been wearing and listen i'm washing them in between wears but i've been wearing the same three pairs of underwear for a month so it's like and they're all meant to go under a dress i was supposed to wear to a wedding so it's like nude boring not my favorite underwear like just like i don't even have a hanky-panky with me like she's wearing a commando nude ward on set of entertainment tonight underwear like that is where it all
Starting point is 00:16:05 begins yes and i am fighting speaking of anxiety sorry jack not to balls you but i'm fighting with everyone in my life like i'm fighting the good and bad fight with everyone i'm fighting with everyone with the bank with the government with my partners oh wow my family like everything's a fight everything is i like i have no i have no zip left so i remembered the meeting and i was excited about it and i have thought about it and then i'm sorry that i i know anyway it was just a very kelty thing for you to do and i i am excited on a spiral it was just it was so funny and we can fight about it later because yeah i was gonna pick a fight with you about it i'm so sorry becca you don't have to apologize i understand you have a lot on your plate right now
Starting point is 00:16:56 it's just sometimes i think when you have a lot on your plate you could take a back seat i know i didn't i don't know how to take a back seat she had to go full steam ahead and she's like i don't know what i'm doing but i'm doing it anyways it was like watching someone put on roller skates for the first time and like go down a ramp i'm in the skate park at the skate park and no one can help her sorry we're laughing at your misfortune you are you are very you're at the you're at the end of your rope we see this and at least you're you're really shitty diet coke tiktok has a shit ton of views right now listen thanks to me who was the one that's like kelty make diet coke your thing but did you see what she filmed yes it was so bad like the whole
Starting point is 00:17:48 time it's like watching an influencer try to unbox something with one hand and film it with the other and i'm like this is so bad and then it popped up on my page again today and i was like you know what good for you kelty it was at like 50 000 views and i was like shame on you becca for judging her cinematography that's what tiktok's all about you know it's like the shittier the better is like what's going to really propel you so kelty opening opening a can of diet coke is on brand and it's it's really what people are resonating with so more diet coke for you kelty the little things that bring you joy you know i can't even speak okay i'm gonna go for my bad week um so there's that new elvis uh biopic that's coming out and austin butler plays him now i don't know a lot
Starting point is 00:18:38 about austin butler i think that he dated vanessa hudgens and this is about as far as that goes um but i did know that he had a different voice before he started doing this elvis movie and then he started talking in the elvis voice for the movie and now he's talking in that voice all of the time like this is his new voice that he has for himself and the funny thing is he's been like an actor for his whole life so people are like this isn't how this isn't your voice but he is claiming it as his own and i that really bothers me a lot so that's my bad he's like daniel day lewis yeah he's like daniel day lewis but he's done what'd you say what happened with daniel day lewis because he's so method that that he really just doesn't break character or whatever
Starting point is 00:19:22 but like he's but austin's wrapped like it's it's wrapped the movie's wrapped why are you still doing press as all this yeah it's so bizarre and it's like a complete thank you so much for uh for having me here it's like dude you have like this is not it and everybody knows it's such a weird thing i saw bella hadid tiktok that was very similar it was her doing the sneaker shopping where she's like you got to have these air force ones because a homie can get it and then she was at paris fashion she was like it was the best show no no i know she was like talking in a french accent it was so bizarre i've done that i've done that for sure in paris when i when everyone's speaking like that you get like all like you're like i'm parisian too oh my god when i'm working
Starting point is 00:20:06 in canada zach will stop me mid-sentence and say something about how i'm speaking like a canadian i don't know oh yeah i i bring on i bring on some of those things so i do have a little bit of you know if you're surrounded by it like you know my friend who dated a british guy and lived in london for several years a few words that you're taking the lift yeah a few words and a few affectations on your speech is okay but not a full-blown like lobotomy his is just you're talking in a completely different register he's i think he's gonna really make your nether regions nether regions tingle in this movie he's hot he's hot it's the hair it's very good who's he with now does he have a girlfriend yes he's somebody someone really hot um and i just
Starting point is 00:20:57 oh isn't it kaya gerber or something oh yes yes yes yes someone really hot yeah oh yeah alex just texted us kaya gerber wow i can't believe that i was the one i'm shocked all right kelty do you want to do a good week bad week yeah i mean just crumbling um yes okay so i'm gonna start with my i'm gonna start with my good week and it has nothing i'm gonna okay all right so good week i also don't want you to rush this because someone dm'd me saying that they we are right sometimes if we have a guest all she does is listen to good week gap good week bad week so this is for you yeah no this is yeah this is a good good week bad week it's fine
Starting point is 00:21:45 All right. I'm going to start with my good week. No one can stand in a line like me. I really excel at being in the right line at the right time, paying attention to my surroundings, things being called, going up when I'm called, whether it be my fat burger order, a red carpet, an airport, I can understand deeply inside of me how lines work. Okay. Okay. Wow. This is fat burger, a red carpet or an airport. Okay. Like when they're like, and I don't even use my real name on my fast food orders. So I'm at fat burger and they're like, Joe, cause that's what I use because Kelty is too hard to spell when they say, Joe, it's not even my name. I'm like, I'm there. I'm getting like, I know a line. I'm not on the cell phone and then coming in like, is my order
Starting point is 00:22:49 up yet? And they're like, it's been sitting here for 10 minutes. Like I'm, I know how to do a line. Okay. Okay. I'm at the airport in LaGuardia. We're going to New York to do our big thing again. I'm not, I'm not asking for your pity. I'm just telling you it's been a tough month and I'm at LaGuardia. The flights are up. I finally get there and I'm like, okay, I got to get in the taxi line. And LaGuardia has a lovely taxi line that they have now put half outside, half inside so that when it's balmy hot in New York or blistering cold, you can wait inside for your taxi. So there's a line that goes in. And then when you get to the automatic doors, the line stops and there's a gentleman in a thing like Cape, like a traffic
Starting point is 00:23:33 cape you know the thing the orange thing with the thing he's in the cape and he'll come into the room and say continue on please go outside and then you will join up with the outside line do you understand yes okay this seems hi barbara and then you get to the front and there's another person in a taxi cape that's like okay go to this taxi okay so i'm in the back of the inner airport line and i'm waiting and i'm waiting and i'm watching the whole system of how this works and I was like, great. And eventually I get to the front of the inside line. Okay. And I'm waiting there because I have watched how this line is working and I understand lines. And so I know that the guy's going to come in and he's going to bring out 10 of us to the outside area when
Starting point is 00:24:17 there is space for us. I'm just standing there minding my business. And this man, this young man in a flip-flop and a cargo short, no offense to all of you cargo short lovers out there. Don't come for me four people behind me comes up to me taps me on the shoulder and says you know you can go outside right you don't have to wait for him there's room because i can see that the line has moved and there are space for 10 more and at some point man in the traffic cape will come and allow us outside but i'm waiting for him so i was like oh i think we're and he's you don't have to wait for him i was like oh okay i felt bullied i knew i had to wait for him so i went outside and opened the thing and the 10 people behind me started coming with me and the guy's traffic cape is like
Starting point is 00:25:06 no no no no you have to wait inside go to the back of the line and i was like well no this guy told me to come out he's like no it's wrong and i was like please don't make me go the back of the line so he opens and he lets me in but he only lets me in and he sends everyone back the 10 people have like good good good good back and i look at the man still standing in the inside line and i go i gave him a finger i gave him a finger like you were wrong bitch because he was like fourth so he had to like pony back right good and i was like don't humans of earth don't ever tell me how to do a line okay wow i know how to line the up i'm a radio city rockette i was the stage girl and right which by the way everyone guides with their eyes to the right i set the line i know
Starting point is 00:25:53 lines don't and mansplain lines to me whoa whoa sorry i'm so passionate about that actually made me for one of your crazy like rants rants and when you think people are turning off the podcast for how much i thought it was going to go in that direction i'm actually worked up for you no that was a thrilling ride because it's like i didn't know what was going to happen next And then honestly, ending it with you giving somebody a finger wave, like I was like, it's iconic. Like he probably called you, Karen, after you finger waved at him. But who cares?
Starting point is 00:26:32 I'm like, if you are, I'm sorry. If you are someone and I don't mean this, like if you travel with whatever duffel bag you found in your parents' basement, live your life. I travel with a black away luggage with a black to me travel backpack. No, I'm just saying. I have my expensive suitcase and my expensive backpack. It's not about being expensive. You can tell that I'm someone who travels.
Starting point is 00:26:58 Okay. The way it's organized all together. I have the hat clip. Like the way it's together, you can tell that she has been on an airplane in an airport in a period, traveled period. travel okay god i'm like i am so sorry to hear about hear that i bet his name was chad and it was like the fact that it was like some young guy like i don't know how to do a line do you know what i've done in my life anyway sorry my job was to really need to go punching
Starting point is 00:27:31 something you need a punching bag you need to go to one of those rage rooms yes break things yeah um okay here is my that that was actually my good week the good week was like the finger like the revenge okay here's my bad week i talked to you guys a little bit about this in new york but i want to tell the full story so right now on my show superfan we are in edits i really naively thought that the hardest part of the show was going to be getting it sold booking the stars and getting it on air. Oh, no, no. When I posted on my Instagram, I was like, that's a wrap on super fan. Now we go to edits. Matt Anderson, who worked on Lady Gang TV was like, good luck. And I was like, he's so negative. Like this is going to be fine. It is not fine. Picture this.
Starting point is 00:28:20 You're watching yourself be an idiot for eight hours a day. And then you have an entire room, Zoom room of people having conversations about whether they should cut out you being an idiot. Oh no. Like if, if you're, if like, listen, I'm the most confident and I know I live in an area of like being naive about my own greatness. It is gone. I am fully aware of what an idiot I am. And we don't want this self-awareness. We need to throw that out the window. We need you to live in. Don't listen to the haters. I am broken into a million fucking pieces. Like when you get an email from executives at a network and they're like 18, 13, Kelty's face is horrible here. Oh my God. Okay. Um, it's been awful. So I'm a shell of a human and the way it
Starting point is 00:29:15 works is that we're editing. So we have six episodes and each episode is at a different level of editing. So there's like a rough cut, a fine cut. So it's like, it gets better as you go along. And then you have to like decide what to keep and what to cut out. I'm being mostly cut out of the show. I was too excited. I was too happy. I was too flaily. I don't speak English. Like all the things that you guys know about me, like I thought couldn't fly. It's not flying. So anyway, I'm feeling really distraught, weak, bad about myself. My outfits look good. like that's it I mean you've never looked hotter so I look gorgeous for my two seconds that I walk out on the show and introduce the person and never to be seen again but um I I'm like okay
Starting point is 00:30:07 so then I'm here so then so I'm just prefacing where we're at so then I'm here in Edmonton and my mom is here and my brother's here and I keep asking my brother do you want like because there's a lot of laying around these days and I was like do you want to watch an episode of superfan he's like I'm just really not up to it and my mom was over and she was like well I want to watch it. And then we kind of got in this place where like, we didn't want to have guests anymore. So we sent mom home and I sent her the link to watch the Shania Twain episode. And I'm so excited about, she's seen nothing, right? Except the Instagrams. Cause I like, she wasn't there. She wasn't able to come. So I'm so excited for mom, Sheila, my momager to see the episode.
Starting point is 00:30:44 And I'm like, yeah, watch it. And so she texts me or she calls me the next morning. And she was like, I don't know what you're talking about. The, the, uh, she didn't, it didn't seem rough to me because I sent her a rough cut and I was like, oh yeah, really? So we're talking on the phone. I was like, well, what did you think? And she goes, and I quote, it was fine. Can I call you back Auntie Wendy's coming calling me I know she didn't mean it in like any way but you did great and she doesn't want to like up me too much because she wants to treat me normal she doesn't want to like get into the Hollywood of it I think she's trying to treat me normal so she doesn't want to be like you're the greatest thing so slice bread I don't I don't really know like what
Starting point is 00:31:33 happened she did apologize later she was like sorry about that like I just had to get off the phone. I'm like, okay, I'm, I'm sure that my parents are never going to be proud of me ever again. Now that I'm not on entertainment tonight and on their TV every night, that was a very visceral relatable way that they could be proud of me. Cause they could turn off their TV at 7 PM and they could be like, there's my daughter looking gorgeous. They can't wrap their head around. Like I left that job and now I have a different job. Like it's very confusing to them. they don't they i don't think they think this is a big deal yeah but what it's gonna air on the same channel as entertainment tonight did at like the prime time spot like i don't think that there's
Starting point is 00:32:14 anything bigger than that i'm gonna i'm gonna come here and an observation that i just made as you were telling this story is your your reaction to this person joining us on tour i'm so excited no expression no smiles no enthusiasm had to have come from someone in your family and you're and also you're somebody who has that ability and also the ability to completely be on a preoccupied with another thought when something important is going on in front of you so your aunt was calling your mom and it was probably that was on her mind it was not giving you the feedback so if she apologized later saying sorry she was getting this call blah blah blah then she just pulled a kelty on you and give her a chance give her a chance
Starting point is 00:33:04 i also think that there's something about calling something fine or like saying that you look fine or it was fine that is so offensive to the person getting that statement you look fine but like the few times that jared has told me i look fine i was like try again i was like tell me i look great like you look you look fine or it was fine like it sounds like a failure you're like oh my god i look horrible or that was you know it was terrible but i think always from the person it's coming from is never meant in that way like that word gets so lost in translation also here's the thing when you're using you look fine sometimes it is to not pump the person up on like and be fake you know so if zach puts on an outfit and he's like i don't know if i should wear this
Starting point is 00:33:58 well is it right is it whatever i'm like you look fine you look fine you don't look the best i've ever seen you and you don't look like shit this is passable so let's all be okay with fine because you don't i'm not okay with great i'd rather have a real fine than a fake great but i to kelty's like point that this is like her life's work so for somebody to tell her it's fine is like i get where that like is like oh dagger but she could be of having a kelty episode so well the problem is the shania episode is my best episode like i'm the best i'm the most beautiful i love my outfit the most i'm the funniest i know the most about shania like it's my best episode so it really was like and my mom has a great vocabulary she did kelty me she kelty me she's a beautiful
Starting point is 00:34:45 beautiful bad vocabulary so she'd be like you were brilliant or you were effervescent or like she will say wendy is calling and she had more important things to do and you know what like i i forgive you but also like you know it was fine i just i'm not at the point like i really can't take any more people telling me that i'm not great yes i don't feel great i don't look great i don't have my great underwear i'm like a dark time everyone has to be not great sometimes yeah it is not great all right when we come back more lady gang this episode of lady yang is brought to you by cores light and kind of a fun fact cores introduced the first recyclable aluminum can in the 1950s and later introduced cash for cans kicking off aluminum recycling in america beer

And then I do have like a plan for that.
Starting point is 00:37:39 So, you know, I've been away for like a month and Chris is like, he's pretty cool. Like he doesn't like get weird. I mean, does he have another girlfriend? I don't know. I know. Have you even talked to Chris since you've been gone? I mean, I faced, we talk like we've started talking more because I think we really miss each other for the first two weeks.
Starting point is 00:37:55 I was like, yeah, see you. Okay. Bye. Good night. Like text. So last night he texts me. He goes, love you. Also, you can never die.
Starting point is 00:38:04 and i said okay why and he goes too sad to live without you and i said so you miss my songs then and he said maybe oh he misses you this is the chris knight appreciation song oh that's so sweet singing about washing the dog and singing about taking out the trash and singing my little songs did you tell him you also miss him nope i didn't respond you didn't respond i swear to god look he put maybe and then he and then we waited a whole other day for him to talk to me oh kelty you're a horrible partner sometimes and then he goes love you and i was like show me the stools kelty because we got new stools text him right this second such an asshole you're an asshole you keltied him you just you deserved your mom you deserved that you deserve that
Starting point is 00:39:00 love you so much and i can't wait to see you i'm sorry that i neglected to respond to the sweet text above please continue to send me those because you know what men like positive reinforcement and if you don't point out that you liked that you're never gonna get it again no yeah wow i know here's the thing this is another spiral situation this is a good example you're somebody who and this is like what you're not supposed to ever say to someone you're not ever supposed to say you're somebody who so sorry in advance but you are somebody who um thinks that small things in these big moments are insurmountable or you like don't bother with them but I promise you if you start to just tackle those little things like texting your husband
Starting point is 00:39:50 back even though you think that your gas tank is empty you'll be surprised that by doing that you actually put a little gas back into your tank. Well, especially because he's your partner and he should be the person that's putting gas back into your tank. Like that's literally why we have partners in life is to help us through the times when the gas tank is empty. So let him help you. You guys, good week, bad week, took up our whole episode. Okay. Starting point is 00:41:37 June 19th. I'm sorry. June 21st. Get ready, Jack. National Selfie Day. June 22nd. National Onion Ring Day. June 23rd.

Like maybe these are like these little sparks of joy that you need in your life right now. So I think that you should, and it could be a, you could be a TikTok star. I'm very close to giving it all to go work in a small rescue with baby animals.
Starting point is 00:43:41 I got to be this honest to you. It might be the end of all my jobs and I may go live on a farm and take care of little, little baby animals. i don't want to see them as adults but baby otters baby otters i'm your girl baby kangis i'm your girl what do you do you just take them out back and shoot them when they get older like this seems crazy they get adopted into zoos and stuff i want to zoos you are sick you're sick woman animal cruelty okay but can i not be in the neonatal unit of whatever rescue i think you're gonna need a medical degree for whatever this is kelty
Starting point is 00:44:20 love for animals your love for animals is so conditional it's so funny wait you only love certain animals at certain types same with you jack jack you are the most conditional quote dog lover out there i'm not claiming to be an animal lover the way that kelty is i just like what i like but kelty is like she this is like her thing but then it's it's very strange well i also can't wait have you ever seen a baby an otter that's held by the little otter hands on the otter tummy i can't wait to roll this tape when super fan is on she's doing press all over the place and we're having to mute her on instagram because there's so much kelty hollywood content and she's just can't believe her life is and she's on top of the world she's a star she's
Starting point is 00:45:14 a star she's what's in my bag she's who wore it best she's paparazzi like this is going to be a distant memory and i can't wait to roll the tape yeah have you think you have you saying you want to just like risk it all and go work with only baby animals only baby animals and then sell them to zoos when they shoot them in the back and my therapist would say you know why does it have to be so extreme you know my therapist would say the exact same thing yeah as somebody that doesn't live in the extremes i also say that all of the time yeah she would be like it doesn't have to be all or nothing and i was like yes it does yeah for you it's my whole life is all or nothing yeah i mean literally yesterday i was going out to get some diet cokes and my brother's like i
Starting point is 00:46:04 don't understand why you don't just buy a case and i said well if i buy a case i'll drink the all in one day buy them one at a time like a loser anyway to do with cigarettes so when you could buy one at the bodega in new york oh my god you can buy one cigarette at a bodega yeah you probably still can new york is like weird like that i feel like that's not sanitary there's no way anyway yeah a drug in there i think we should call this episode the struggle bus okay maybe um no no the the longest good week bad week ever is what we should call it yes thank you alex anyway thank you for hearing me out i love you guys i'm sorry about my microphone and my life i'll be back to my house tomorrow be back to being regular normal kelty normal psycho kelty
