it's time for a quickie podcast one presents the lady gang the hollywood girl posse with
lady gang quickie here's kelty knight becca tobin and jack vanik let's make this quick
hello hello hello welcome to lady and quickie i am becky here with jack and kelty and we have
a very special guest she is not only jack's bestie in the whole world she has an incredible story
that jack has not even uttered a detail to kelty or i it is allegedly that good so this is our
virgin ears hearing it along with yours anna rose kern welcome to the lady gang welcome thank you
for having me wait you've never been on yet have you have you ever been on like randomly
okay i don't think so we got a text jack's like anna rose needs to come on the podcast
because she has the craziest story.
That's all we know.
So here it is.
Yeah, so Anna was kind of telling us,
we have a big group chat with a bunch of our friends.
There's like 12 of us in there.
We're always, you know, talking about random shit.
And Anna starts this story
actually a little bit later than it started
because she's like something really bizarre was happening
and I didn't even want to will it into existence
by talking about it.
But then as it sort of progressed,
she's like, I need to share what's going on because this is so crazy. So we've never done
this before. Just had one of our friends on just to tell just the most insane thing that's ever
happened. So this is a first. I love Anna so much. You're such a good storyteller too, that like
this, this is, this is wild. Everybody needs to hear about it. And also if this has ever happened
to anybody else? Because is this a thing that people are doing more so than just to you? So
can we go back to the very beginning and like what started this whole fiasco?
Yes, there's a little context required in this story. And I love context. So
the context required is that recently, my husband and I decided to move and we put our house on the
market. We owned this house in kind of the Woodland Hills area of LA. And it was in a very
lovely, very quiet, very safe suburban neighborhood. It was every house in the neighborhood was a
little like kind of craftsman. They all kind of looked similar. They were lovely, very, very
suburban. Our neighbors on either side of us were olds. We love the olds. Again, I live in another
neighborhood with the olds. We love that. They were retired couples on either side of us,
very family oriented neighborhood. There was a school nearby. People would walk their dogs.
We lived in this neighborhood. We owned this house for two years. And for the two years that we lived
there, never had anything weird happen. Never had a problem. The weirdest thing that ever happened
is that we had a skunk in our yard. Like it was idyllic, beautiful, quiet, lovely. Okay. So that
context matters for this story. We decided to move to be closer to my family. We now live in
Orange County, closer to Jack, which is awesome. I'm so happy for you. Oh, you didn't know that
part, Kelty. Yeah, we moved to Orange County. Please forgive my background. We moved in on
a week ago, so everything's chaos. So we put our house on the market. Our neighborhood is amazing.
our house was amazing it sold in one day which was insane with almost all of the furniture in it
kelty night style thank you for the inspiration ideal um which was great so this is a very high
demand house it's a very nice neighborhood um and so that that kind of sets the stage of our house
was on the market and this was in it we lived there for two years and nothing weird had ever
happened. So this happened about, I want to say three weeks ago, four weeks ago, right after the
house had had, yeah, about a month ago, right after the house had gone into escrow. That part
doesn't really matter as much, but the part that matters in that is that there was a for sale sign
in the yard. Um, okay. So it's a Tuesday morning, a regular Tuesday morning, and my husband orders
a coffee to be delivered. We get a lot of deliveries in this house. I run an e-commerce
business. So we regularly have packages and all kinds of stuff being dropped off at our house.
He orders a coffee. He goes to the front door. He opens the front door. He grabs the small shopping
bag that the coffee is in. And then he hollers to me, babe, did you order something else? There's
three other shopping bags here. I'm like, no, please bring them inside. Like I'm in the other
room. We get stuff delivered all the time. He brings his coffee inside. And then I can hear
him in the other room going, what the is this? What is this? What is this? And then he uses my
full name, which when he calls me Anna, I know we need Anna, get in here. I'm like, Oh, okay.
I'm not babe right now. Something's going on. I go into the kitchen. He's like, what is this?
And on our counter is three small shopping bags, like the small kind that you get when you go to
the store. So one is a Nordstrom rack bag. And two are anthropology bags that both have the letter
A on them. And both of our names, Anna and Adam, start with A. So immediately I'm going,
these must be for us. It's written like a Sharpie? No, it's like the bag is from anthropology. So
they have an A on the bag. Oh, got it. Okay. So I'm like, maybe they're for us. Like they're
two bags with the letter A. I notice on the bags that there are little tiny post-it notes,
like the smallest ones they make. And on that is written in a pen and it says UCLA. And I'm like,
this is weird and i look into the bags and immediately i recognize that inside of these
three shopping bags are rolled up bloody menstrual pads
used bloody used pads rolled up bloody menstrual pads filling these shopping bags i'm not
exaggerating at least a dozen maybe like a dozen I'm speechless are they the reusables or are they
the disposables disposables wrapped and rolled up in the wrapping in the bags like a diaper like
you wrap up the diaper and you put the little things okay and Adam my husband is like I don't
what the this is but this is disgusting and I'm like I don't know what the this is I want this
and keep in mind both him and I are standing there going what the is this like are we being
hexed my first thought is somebody's putting a hex on me or a curse or a black magic or something
because why are three bags full of these on my house sold already the house was in under contract
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
So, but because there was these little post-its that said UCLA on the bags,
I'm thinking maybe this isn't meant for us.
Like, maybe this is a mistake.
Maybe, like, but still I'm going, well, even if it was for UCLA,
we're in Woodland Hills.
We're nowhere near UCLA.
Did you think she meant it was like U-Y-O-U-C-S-E-E-L-A?
no I was like what if it was meant for like the hospital it was like right okay yeah yeah okay
so maybe so I'm thinking like maybe it was but like even then my dad's a doctor right so I have
a lot of medical context what are you going to use a used menstrual pad for anyways I'm looking
at these I'm like shaking I'm freaked I'm freaked out well it's a biohazard it's a biohazard it's
disgusting. I don't want it in my house for a second longer. I take the three bags. I go outside
to our trash cans, which are like out in our yard. And I throw them in the trash can. I slam the lid
shut. And the rest of the day, I'm like having the worst anxiety. I'm like, I'm hoping this was a
mistake. This had nothing to do with us. Like I'm thinking, could it be the people that we bought
the house from are mad that we're selling it? Could it be the neighbors are mad that we're
leaving could it be all these things in my head I can't make sense of it but I'm too scared and
freaked out to tell anyone what's going on I'm like I get it if I just forget forget you know
like throw it away forget about it didn't happen maybe pretend it didn't happen and at this point
you don't know if it came with the coffee from the door dasher so Adam had opened the door and
said to the door dasher are these yours because he was like why are there so many bags and the
door dash I was like no that was already there now oh it's already there okay we had a doorbell
camera but because we were moving I had already disconnected it so I didn't get footage of whoever
had dropped it off okay I know I I know and I have learned my lesson but I did get a smidge
of ring footage where I could see the corner of somebody walking away and I could tell that it
was a woman who had dropped it off. A woman with dark hair. That's all I knew. And she had dropped
it off seven o'clock in the morning. So it gets weirder. So I, um, okay. So I'm like freaked out.
I don't tell anyone. I really wanted to tell Jack, but I was like, I'm too scared to like
acknowledge that this is happening because if I, if I speak it out loud, maybe I'm going to give
it more power. So I'm like, throw it away. Forget it. The next day, my husband goes to work at like
10 a.m. and I am sitting in my office at our old house. My office window faced the street so I could
see anybody coming and going, walking their dogs, coming up to the house. I'm tippy tapping on my
computer doing my thing and I see a woman walk up to my house and she walks up to my house and I
don't hear a knock because the door is right there. I'm like one room away from the door.
don't hear a knock and i don't hear a doorbell ring and i'm like this is weird so i open i walk
around the corner our front door had glass i can see her face pressed up against the glass trying
to look into my house so your decaf oat milk extra but not piping hot four pumps of caramel no sugar
small latte in a large cup that'll be 10 minutes no worries i'm having fun on play ojo and i keep

the lady gang i whipped the door open hi can i help you like get right in her face i am a
relatively large woman. I am five foot nine. And when I want to impress upon somebody's space and
get in their face, I am capable of doing so. You guys have all been in the room with me. You know
that I'm capable of this. I get right up in her face. I step right into her space. Hi, can I help
you? Why are you looking in the window? Like, why are you looking into my house? What, what do you
want? Immediately, like pushing her back from my door. And she gets very sheepish with me. And I'm
like looking her up and down and I'm looking at this woman and I'm like, she's like, I left
something here yesterday and I'm like immediately I go oh my god this is she left the pads and so
I'm like in my head I'm doing a mental note she doesn't appear to be homeless she's clean she's
well dressed I look at her shoes they're clean she's carrying a handbag she's she says I left
something here yesterday she's in her 40s maybe early 50s long hair and I'm like okay I'm like
I'm gonna make her say it I'm gonna make her say it you left something here yesterday yeah what was
that well um it was supposed to go to the treatment center treatment center well this is my house so
what did you leave it was three bags and finally I'm like oh she's not gonna say it I go oh are
you talking about the bags of bloody menstrual pads that you left on my front door no you would
expect somebody to have a reaction where they were like yes I'm so sorry I'm so embarrassed
She goes, yeah.
I said, okay.
She goes, can I have them back?
Isn't this insane?
I don't even know what to do here.
Wait.
I said, what do you mean have them back?
I threw them in the trash.
That is disgusting and a biohazard.
And you left them on my front door.
And she goes, are they still in your trash?
No.
I said, yeah, they are.
do you want to go through my trash and in my head in this moment I'm going if I don't give this
bitch her bloody pads back she's gonna break into my house yeah no she's gonna break into my house
or break into my yard to get them so I'm like go to the side gate I get my trash bin I push it up
to the side gate yeah and I go and I open it up and I go grab them I'm not touching it she leans
into the trash plucks out her trash bag her bags full of bloody pads says thank you and walks to
the sidewalk what and i'm like what in the so i'm like okay i walk out and i stand there like this
and i watch this woman she's looking in each bag to make sure that whatever the it is is still there
and she walks away. She had approached my house on foot, no car, walked up to my door and then
walked away on foot, no car. So I immediately go to the group text, immediately go to the group
text. Like guys, this is what's happening. So wait, hold on. Is that the end of the story?
Like we, you don't know that there's more. Yeah. So I go to the group text immediately. I'm like,
you guys oh god this is unsolved mysteries i can't do unsolved mysteries this early in the morning
okay i immediately go to the group text i'm like you guys this is what's happening adam is at work
right and i'm like he's like are you okay i'm like this woman was like maybe five foot two so i'm
like i'm fine we're good i go to the group text you guys what do i do like what's going on and
i'm like i don't know is this a situation where you call the police like there wasn't a crime but
this is weird. She's walking around in my neighborhood. So I watch and I see her walk
all the way down to the end of my street. And then she's kind of got, she's walking around
the neighborhood with these bags. So I'm in the group text. I'm texting the girls, telling them
the story. About an hour later, an hour later, I see her walk back the other way, still holding
the bags. So she's just like wandering around the neighborhood with these bags. Wandering around
the neighborhood with these bags full of bloody pads three bags full of at least two dozen bloody
pads so finally when I see them walk past again Alexis was like yep time to call the police
yeah time to call the cops shut up she did oh my because now like she's wandering around the
neighborhood with these bags she's clearly something's going on I don't think this woman
is homeless but something's going on she's looking for somewhere to put these it's a biohazard I have
like I said old people babies in my neighborhood like this is too weird so I call the cops and I'm
like hey you're probably gonna transfer me to like non-emergency because this is not an emergency but
like I just feel like I need to tell y'all about this so feel free to transfer me to non-emergency
but this is what's happening the minute I said bloody menstrual pads they sent out a unit great
they sent out a mobile crisis unit wow and so they asked for a description and I'm like here's
the description of this woman like I don't know what's going on with her but like I just don't
want her leaving these pods for anyone else or where an animal could find it or a human or
whatever so they sent out a mobile crisis unit I don't see this mobile crisis unit come at all
but an hour after that I see this woman walk by again in a different outfit no so bizarre no the
call was coming from inside the house was she carrying the bags she's from the neighborhood
the bags are the bags are gone she lives in the neighborhood does she did you figure that out
she has to she must have gone home to change this is wild what the were the pads for what was she
doing where did she go for an hour where she was carrying them around then I saw her again come by
in a different outfit and then three or four days later I saw her walk by again she lives in the
neighborhood. We don't know what she was doing with the pads, why she left them at my house,
what the that was about. And we don't know if she ever made contact with this mobile crisis unit
that they sent out. It is an unsolved mystery, Kelty. I'm so sorry. Wait, what? So she, okay,
she initially said the treatment center. Yes. That's the only clue that we have is that she
said, I thought this was the treatment center. Now, the reason that I mentioned that there was
a for sale sign in my yard is because if this was a treatment center it's a house there's a for sale
sign in the front yard you know this is a house what kind of treatment center needs
menstrual pads so i mean i'm not saying anything yet but you know sometimes in la the doctor's
office isn't a house maybe sometimes at ucla in your area usually labeled right though like
there's usually like you think she's mentally ill well for sure for sure like to pick them out of
the first of all to look me in the eye while i said you left your used bloody menstrual pads
on my doorstep and not and not flinch right something's wrong yeah the lady gang yeah she
needs a welfare check like right this is a maybe a schizophrenic break something did she still have
a period like are they her menstrual pads maybe there was a lot though like anna was like this
is not from one person from one there's no way that's what i'm saying like person how many pads
do you use in a period this and they were like not moldy or they're wrapped up so okay they were
you could tell i mean you can everybody here has used the pad you know when you roll it up you can
still tell what it was you can still tell if it was used like yeah there were so many these bags
you know the little shopping bags that you get when you go to not your mac and you buy something
small three of those full like almost almost all the way to the top this is un isn't this the most
random bizarre story ever and disgusting the people who bought your house sorry sorry but
that's why i had the disclaimer nothing weird has ever happened in this house and nothing weird has
happened since like i have not seen this woman again i saw her walking on the street one time
She didn't even so much as glance at the house, didn't look at it, didn't anything.
Yeah.
Well, I think when people have a psychotic break, they have so many like, like a store,
like voices that they think the hallucinations.
And so she probably had some extravagant scenario where she needed to do this crazy test.
I think you did the right thing, though.
Bravo to you for like being a grown up.
In that moment, I knew if I didn't give them back to her, she was going to come and take them.
Right.
That was very smart.
I was like, yeah.
That was very smart.
What did Adam say?
Adam was like, what the f*** is going on?
He trusts my judgment in a situation like that.
And he was not happy that I, like, gave them back to her.
But I was like, I just knew in my gut.
Get them off the property.
Like, get them away from me.
Because if she knows that they were here, I knew she was going to try to come and get them.
She would jump the fence or something.
Do you keep in touch with any of your neighbors, like old neighbors?
I didn't tell any of my neighbors this story.
Damn, she peaced out.
I just left.
But get on the Next Store.
You need to get on the Next Store app and put in your old address.
And I bet you, I bet you, you will find other people in the area saying that this happened to them.
so I've done some reddit digging I looked on um ring I looked on a handful I did a little bit of
like googling I couldn't find anything nothing even remotely related to this the closest thing
that one of my friends found was at UCLA there's some kind of like period liberation movement where
people are making fake bloody pads for like a protest oh i was like maybe this is related
bloody pads they didn't look fake to me yeah and okay even if they were the treatment center
right we're so far away from ucla like we're in like west hills woodland hills like
there's no way you're like an hour away from ucla yeah okay so best case scenario this woman is a
participate in this fake bloody pad thing with UCLA. And in her psychosis, she just in her mind
thought that maybe your house was UCLA. And worst case scenario in my true crime brain is like,
I would feel like somebody was like casing my house or it's like part of like a ruse
to like get information or get into or for a bigger scheme that's happening later. Like that's
where I always go to like worst case scenario, like what is this the beginning of, you know?
Thank God you left. There's a way worse, worst case scenario. The worst case scenario is that
you'd already turned off your ring camera. A-Rose, we could have been so viral. Babe,
if we had that footage, babe, you could have been on GMA tomorrow. Like we haven't missed
the opportunity of a lifetime. You know how many ring doorbell videos I'm watching of the neighbor
borrowing a scarf and then the kid bringing back the dog like we could have been so famous yeah
you could have been on a compilation could have literally been the top rated podcast in the world
so oh no can't believe you're responsible with your money i'm very annoyed okay lady gang if
anyone has any clues please i would love this happen do we know something like we need we need
closure. I mean, I can't believe we're leaving this like this. This is not I'm not going to
sleep tonight. This needs to open up Lady Gang Investigates for sure. And if you have a great
Lady Gang Investigates story that you would like to come on the podcast and tell I am enthralled
by this. Email us at HelloLadyGang.com or HelloLadyGang at gmail.com. And we will see if
your story is to be Anna Rose level. And then we're going to need you to do a full photo shoot
in a detective outfit as like the cover photo thank you so much holding a pad like the pad
you know lady gang the periods that started it all oh god wow so wild so disgusting okay it's
gross and it's weird i should have given you a disclaimer yes thank god you moved i would be
freaked out that would have made me move i don't know i just get way too listen i look way too
into things. Same. I do think you may. OK, so do any of you guys use Nextdoor? I used to in L.A.,
which was a mistake. So I do feel like you have to log on to Nextdoor for Woodland Hills for your
old neighborhood and just just just check. Just check. You may have. There may be a video from
someone else's Nest Cam that's like, who's this lady? She dropped bags off. We've got it. We've
got to find this woman. We've got to get to the beginning of it, the bottom of this. We must.
wow well I am so so glad you're safe and sound and hopefully there was no hex laid upon you and
your family I know that was my first thought was like somebody is cursing me or jinxing me or
something because it was just so weird like I didn't even think the true crime of it I was like
somebody's doing witchcraft and cursing me bad vibes bad vibes well you're out of there and
we're gone and now we live in a nice like safe gated community yes well but it can be like Kelsey
he said the call could have been coming from inside the house inside those gates some things
can go down I'm just kidding not like you never know you're gonna be fine but honestly earth is
scary all right well Anna Rose thank you very much this was weird we're here for a long time
we are here for a bloody menstrual time sorry guys sorry about it Lady Gang is hosted and
