Hello. welcome to the quickie jack set the scene we are sitting in kelty's closet it's me kelty and afton my bestie my makeup artist and hairstylist and uh we're in between uh lady gang tv filming and our interviews which is a big chunk of free time that we get a hangover in we this is i've already hung over kelty usually takes a nap i know i really i'm over feeling like

i need to pass out but i'm like no stay awake in the closet stay awake in the closet it really is it's only one day of filming but it feels like a week three yeah it feels like every day kills me it's a weekend it kills me like my eyes are burning and i gotta wake up tomorrow morning my makeup's coming at 5 30 a.m here so i have to fly to las vegas you've you've been back and forth from vegas like 15 times in this three times this week three times jack and i do one Vegas trip once a year yeah it's too much I will say like I'm an excellent Vegas traveler like I don't pack a bag like a purse only like I'm going for one night like your to me bag I don't even do I just I was doing a purse but I got on the way back because I um usually the

company pays for like preferred on Southwest which means like nothing I love that they fly you Southwest because Vegas is but the thing is I want to fly from Burbank it's closer to my house I could fly American from LA, but then I had to drive down. Anyway, it's a whole thing. But anyway, so on the way back, I was like so exhausted this week. And on the way back, I get to the airport and I'm like, B34, what the f**k? Because I'm normally like A1, A2, A6. Welcome to commoner life.

I know. Middle seat. That's why you said middle seat. I was like, Kelty would never sit in a middle seat. Never. That's insane. I'm way too good for a middle seat. I've never flown first class.

I've never even been upgraded to first class by accident. I've never been on a private. I'm just slumming it. Wait, you've... I'm on Spirit Airlines. Like, I'm inside the bag. You're the checked bag. Okay, before we keep talking about my asshole woes, Jacqueline, please introduce our esteemed

Before I had a real Instagram boyfriend that was also my boyfriend. and she's the best and she fucking kicks ass at makeup and hair thank god thank god how did you guys meet um jack and i actually met uh playing beer pong the sexual voice i've always thought that and i've never said that well i'm gonna tell you something this is what i went to school for so coming into this closet it's like me coming out of the closet back into my world of radio like this is what i studied where you've meant to i put on the headphones and i i think my voice went down an octave you that's what you're supposed to do you're like elizabeth let me tell you the headlines um but no so i i went to school at chapman and jack i think we met no we

met at a fourth of july party you're both there were drinking games involved we were wearing bathing suits i'm sure i was actually wearing my sorry for partying jack vanek shirt i remember on brand but yeah we met at a party in huntington beach on the fourth of july but like i meet people at parties they don't become my best but we met through mutual friends so it was like the group was already you know kind of solidified and it was just like meeting an extension of the group that you hadn't already met it was a friend of a friend and then we bonded over a pair of game of beer pong yes we both of our partners didn't show up or we didn't have partners for this tournament and we were kind of like oh guess we'll be partners and then it was like i threw a ball

she threw a ball we looked at each other and it was like the stars aligned and we had and now like god forbid you're at a party with the two of us together because like louise should be like like i know you guys are gonna be partners because we can't be with anyone else yeah no and jared comes here i'm like you're not my partner get out of here um and so you grew up in california i grew up in oak park so like the valley kardashian kardashian land i actually have a picture of my brother in a kiddie pool with courtney and kim when they were kids yeah chris oh i can't probably say this but anyway chris went to a dinner i'll just do it he's gonna kill me i think chris told me a story about one time he was like at a fancy dinner um when he was like an intern

and he was really young but kim would have been like 10 years young like 10 years younger like 10 and she was like crawling around on the floor like a dog asking for tables oh my god it's like when she was paris hilton's intern yeah oh my god wait that's amazing yeah that's such a good story just like us we all pretend to be a dog when i was six my mom asked me what i wanted to be when i grew up and i said i wanted to be a mouse so it's amazing i remember the first time that i was ever like felt sexually aroused was when i was pretending to be an animal oh my god you're just in line with your animal instincts i remember i got i don't remember like why but i was in do you remember those well you know i have like a hanging basket chair yeah okay

you remember when there used to be ones that like came on a stand yeah i was at someone's house they had a basket chair we were all playing like capture and so like you're an animal and you'd get captured and like i loved getting captured and this is like very weird to like age yeah so My being an animal story, and Jack actually loves this one, is when I was younger, and you know, you always used to play house, and I would play it with my two brothers and our neighborhood friend, Kelsey, and they always made me be the dog. I couldn't be the baby or the dad or the mom. They're like, Afton, you're the dog.

Just go over there. How did that affect you? I think you love dogs. She's wearing my sweatshirt that says, Love Fast Pet Dogs. Okay, let's ask about some of the things that Jack loves. Okay. Oh, God. Oh, like a quiz.

yeah so does just jack's love of the french bulldog okay are you into the french bulldog i love beth more than most things and i'm fully supportive of beth yeah she loves beth but she loves pugs more than she loves frenchies i was a pug girl growing up yeah they're just a variation of the same type of dog the lady gang has jack ever dated someone that you're like i hate that guy what do you think about voldemort my ex-boyfriend no but he was a trickster he wasn't i loved him yeah everybody loved him he was great i mean aren't we don't we not talk about it or do we we talk about it i just have never said his name again so he's known as voldemort um i don't know i thought i thought i wasn't 100 on board see here's the thing with him is he fooled everybody

but everybody knew like in their gut or the back of their mind that there was something off about him but the thing about him that was that like you could have fun he was social and he was charismatic so you could have so much fun with him so it's hard you could like talk talk talk all this shit on like what you think like you know what are your motivations here in this relationship but then when you're playing beer pong with him you're like this is great yeah he's great so you get swindled what do you think of um jerry i love jerry so much i mean i was there when they reconnected tell me about that so i was there for all of it it was there she were she got what happened we were like out one night and we came home and she got a text that was from

jared jared i hadn't talked to him in like four years either and it said a little birdie told me that you'd be coming to warp tour and she was like i don't think i i don't think i even know when when's warp tour so we like scramble google when's warp tour and she's like should we go and then you know i know the whole backstory of jared i'm like wait have you guys ever made out before possibly have you had you slept together before no no never slept together but way back when way but like when i was like 22 right i probably shouldn't have been making out because you're a girlfriend oh so we got our things together it's okay water under the bridge we got a motel up in ventura for the night before warp tour and

we went up and then we um we went and hung out with him like on the tour bus her and jerry were like an immediate match and i convinced myself to like the drum tech this is the thing with afton is afton is the best wing woman in the entire world and in my single life we would go on vacations or we'd go for like a weekend or we'd do something and i'd meet a guy that i liked and afton is such a proponent of having a good time that she would convince herself to like the guy's best friend just so we could all have a good time he could be a literal literal schizophrenic And I'm like, he's the one for me. Like, if he's Jack's guy's best friend, like, we are going to paddle down a river together and we are going to make this work.

And how often has that worked out for you? Every single time. Well, not like worked out to, like, love of her life. No, I've never fallen in love with the person. But I do. I 360 scam myself. I go into it and I'm like, I'm going to convince myself to like this person just for the weekend. And then, like, he'll not text me.

And I'm like, what the fuck? Like, why doesn't he like me? I don't even like him. The problem is, okay, so I'd always go for the hot guys. who are douchebags with like shitty personalities and Afton would always like the best friend that was like not as hot but like had a great personality and they'd actually end up being the cool guy

yeah and then it would end up being a thing yeah but you know okay so you're Jerry they're on the bus you're doing the best friend oh I did the best friend thing and then I mean it was just like it was like they had known each other like they did but it's like they had been together forever it was like

the stars aligned like I just watch it and he was he's just such a sweet guy but he's in a band and this concerns me and you know what this has concerned me for a long time and i'm glad we're talking about it great i have a list of five guys you should never date yes an actor actor i've done that uh athlete i've done that club promoter club promoter i don't think i've been there dj and musician yeah yeah four i think four out of five i probably did date a promoter but i blocked i'm really good at blocking things out of my memory yeah she does And so I'm concerned because, you know, it's hard out here for a musician's girlfriend.

I mean, listen, that was against, especially since two of the three of my ex-boyfriends were musicians, I was like, never again a musician, never again long distance. Here's my take on things. Like, I do believe in deal breakers and I believe in that type of thing. But in the scheme of dating and like trying to find your future person, you have a list of things that you want to find in that person. Jared has all of those. So what are they?

Tell me. I mean, like he is, he's caring, he's engaging, he's selfless, the most selfless person I think I've ever met. Um, like he'll drop anything to do. Not only if like, if I called Jared and I was like, Jared, I'm in this place, what can I do? Like he's very empathetic. He's very empathetic.

Um, he's super fun. He's social. He loves to drink. He loves to play games. He loves to do things that are like, have you, has he done the Enneagram? What number is he? He's a nine. That's what Chris was.

Yeah. I got to put that in my, do you know, I did this up. first Kelty and I got what you were. And I was like, I need to take it again. No, Becca and I are the same too. Hold on. I have a whole page for all the people. Oh my God. Your Bujo is out of control right now. I know. It's so good. Okay. Hold on. Where is my Enneagram page? Wait, what were you? A three? I was, um, you're the same as what I am. No, I did it, but I did it. So that was when I did the one that you didn't have to pay for. And then when I paid for it, I got a different, can I add Jared? We both want what the fuck we want. Right. The Enneagram's what drives you. I'm a seven. I'm the enthusiast. Oh my God. Oh, so you're like me. That is the same as Jack.

I'm a seven. I'm a seven, but you had a lot of twos. But my seven and my three are almost exactly the same. No, that's not the way Enneagram works. No, no, look. got it like even though you scored 23 on seven and 22 on achiever you're not an achiever got it you are an enthusiast which makes perfect sense okay so just to round out my story about jared so so he has all these things you're happy to have my bujo right here that i'm so glad so so if you're looking to add some sparkle to that page if he has this one thing that's actually not like that important in the scheme of things you're looking for or not for a relationship then so be it and also we believe in his music we believe in what he does it would be different if he was a shitty musician and he's not no he makes he's good they're they run their band like a business he's like in the version of the lady gang it honestly okay so here's the thing it's like i

obviously have an issue had an issue with that as well i'm like i'm not doing a musician i'm 31 years old like not for me but it's like it's 2019 and what they're doing and what we're doing we're putting out content it's just in like different ways so it's like i kind of have to are you an influencer or yeah i'm just like here's a thing um but it's like i have to let go of that mindset and like afton said it's like i he has truly everything that i'm looking for in a partner internally and nobody's going to be like 100 perfect so fight um we have had many heated discussions but he is very perceptive and very understanding and like he's a nine because i can literally be like dude i'm so straight up with him that i'm like this is bugging the shit out of me

and it is stuff that is very direct and like most people would be offended by it can i grab my instagram book so we can learn about him sure okay hold on i like how this podcast has just become like oh we have an inside track to jerry what can we ask no because i've never really talked about him on the podcast before no you haven't talked about him not like not in depth and then okay okay so i have now i'm back we have our enneagram book it's called oh a lot of people asked me about this book it's called the enneagram for the spirit i made everybody in my life take the enneagram because i think it's so really helps you honestly i think the enneagram has saved the lady gang i know that sounds so crazy because i know you guys wanted to kill me and you

were right at the point where you're like we're gonna have to murder her like we have to get rid of kelty we really were never like that by the way but i felt that way but then i learned about your enneagrams and now i know how to love you i think that i think that you have definitely been putting in the energy because like you're the way that you're going about the enneagrams is like how do i interact with the people that are in my life in a way that is like beneficial for them yeah yeah yeah kelty needs to know other people's more than like they need to know it because she just needs to know i'm just gonna be how i am but i need to know like jack is a seven oh you're seven too so let me tell you a little bit about yourself um okay sevens at their best are optimistic

enthusiastic curious entrepreneurial imaginative spontaneous at their worst rebellious narcissistic scattered this is one of jack's things this is my biggest fault that kelty hates about me is how scattered i am but that's the thing she's so creative and when you ask her to do something if you're like when jack decides to focus on something and brilliance poops out yeah but it's like but she'll be like like she can't she has to get right in the right spot to do it and then she does it um over talkative not me but i'm an introvert though i could talk a little bit your um repeating habit is rationalizing oh my god that's me i rationalize everything you do how do you think i end up with jock's guy's best friends all the time oh yeah and my like

my purchasing thing where i do price per wear and i break everything or like price per use i can rationalize that is rationalizing here's some of the ways to love you both you and both jack and afton okay one of the things i learned about jack is that you have to give her plenty of freedom that the more you like try to hanker her down she'll just revolt yes um listen to oh don't lean on them too much by being needy and dependent rather than try to change them appreciate the sparkle they bring to your life yes don't tell them what to do suggest whatever might be a fun trick us trick you you know what sounds fun i do that acknowledge the effort they put into the commitment when they do have you noticed that for me yes i'm definitely like way to go jack

you did a great job of that project no one said that to me when i did a project but anyway so anyway i'm glad that that's i wanted to actually hey i do appreciate that because so we're writing a book right now the lady gang book which i don't think we're supposed to announce but okay cool We've announced it before. I mean, we're talking about it. We haven't like announced it. Whatever. We're writing.

We're working on an exciting new project. We're working on an exciting new project. Coming soon. But you have been very good about being very supportive and acknowledging what I've been doing. And I appreciate that. Your process. Yeah.

you fill out the test and then the last instruction is do not fill out the test and turn over your paper and kelsey's the person that turns in like i didn't hear it and it's like every single thing filled out because all she read was the first thing and she's like i'm gonna do this and i'm The first person to finish, I'm going to do it great.
