Starting point is 00:00:00 it's time for a quickie podcast one presents the lady gang the hollywood girl posse with lady gang quickie here's kelty knight becca tobin and jack vanek let's make this quick hello hello hello welcome to the lady gang i am becca tobin here with jack and kelty it's a quickie right quick quick quickie i'm doing a shimmy shimmy shimmy shake callie it's fine would you call this attire that you're in what are we what's our look let me describe it to the listeners it's kind of a rugby shirt ish it's a striped striped rugby but it does not have a rugby call oh it does it looks like it may belong to jerry well i bought this for jared and he has never worn it and i don't really have any clothes in my closet like
Starting point is 00:00:50 definitely nothing i could that's a lie i have seen you try on eight million things on tiktok and instagram return everything try-ons they usually get returned oh well it's like try-ons for like something i'm going to and i return everything but one i don't have any casual outfits i'm leaning into the rugby shirt of my life wearing a rugby shirt on a wednesday yeah okay i think you look great why aren't you asking me about my shirt well thanks so much i cropped it i saw that i got this at a uh the flea melrose flea market this lady all she did would take old vintage shirts and crop it up anyway i'm wearing a shirt i feel weird about wearing um used clothing because i just sometimes think about you know you can't get the odor out
Starting point is 00:01:32 of the armpits of certain things yeah yeah and that bums me out when i think about buying clothes like that yeah i smell great i'd rather buy like a two dollar shirt from kmart than like a you know a beautiful beautiful used $20 she's like i don't want to save the world i just want fast fashion and big pharma i'll tell you fast fashion and big pharma becca it's a real boomer thing to say right i mean you know we're slowly turning into boomers we are boomers we are the boomers of the generation that's true we're the boomers of podcasting we are we kind of honestly who's older than us i mean in podcast years or just years in general years have you ever put on a big lash and regretted it because they get
Starting point is 00:02:18 itchy later just take them off no i can't these are the permanent ones for like four days how do you sleep with those i don't know very intense permanent lashes i know it's all i had left okay are you guys want to know what we're doing today yeah okay today we're playing a game called burn it to the ground oh okay it's a new game i invented so it's the beginning of 2023 ish we're still in the first quarter and you guys always make fun of me because i get all like ramped up about the end of the year like in august yeah so instead i'm focusing on the beginning of the year so that's going to be the beginning of the year for like yes and then it's going to be the end of the year are we talking about things in 2022 no oh we're we are burning are we burning something
Starting point is 00:03:01 for real we're gonna burn shit down so i've got this oh that's why we need the tin can that wait i'm gonna need is that all metal callie yes this is all metal sorry callie she's like hello have you heard of a dog supersonic hearing sorry i have this trash can okay okay i have this trash can this is gonna go so badly yeah i can't wait it's gonna be fine so i'm gonna put this right by by jack okay uh she has a wedding you know what i'm coming up I'm going to put it by me because nobody cares what I look like. Can you put it on the ground? Oh, I guess you can't see it.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Yeah. It's not. I'm not lighting a fire now. Oh, okay. Oh. Now I have these note cards. Everyone take a little stacky. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:43 Okay. Everyone take a little stacky. I have special pens. This side is a painter's tip if you'd like. I was actually using those for my wedding invitation. Yeah. So, you know, pick a color. I have black, brown, or black.
Starting point is 00:03:56 Black. Black, brown, or purple. I don't care. Okay. Brown. Brown. All right. So we are going to do a little seance because we're the witchy bitchies we are.
Starting point is 00:04:06 Witchy bitchies. And we're going to throw into the pot things that we're burning. We're letting go of them in 2023. Okay. Goodbye. Good night. We'll never see you again. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:21 Okay. Then we're going to light it on fire. Okay. Okay. And then I'm probably going to put this in the shower right there. Okay. So it doesn't burn the house. Are there prompts or are we just going to go?
Starting point is 00:04:30 Free flow. Can we like get prompted? Free flow. No, I'll prompt. Oh, wow. Okay. Taking a second. She got excited.
Starting point is 00:04:39 Got excited. Is that a Diet Coke you're chugging? It's just so iced now. I'm all out of Diet Coke. We drank the last two. I know. Oh, no. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:04:48 It's a sad day. Dark times. Ooh. Okay. Hold on. Let me just... I didn't think about prompting you. Oh, that's okay.
Starting point is 00:04:55 Can we just... No? Sure. Okay. We're just going to do it. We didn't think of some prompts. Okay. i'm i'll start okay and you can go off me okay okay i am getting rid of i'll write it down ankle
Starting point is 00:05:08 tight jeans so the skinny jean for the most part well i don't mind a skinny jean that has like a big opening at the ankle that's a straight leg a straight leg yeah but i i i never looked good in I'm Spongebob's wear pants, and I'm not meant to have tight ankles and anything. I like a legging, but, like, that's because your athletic shoe is big. Yeah. But, like, a skinny jean and a heel, it wasn't right for me. And I have one pair left in my closet that I haven't thrown out, and I got to tell you, they gots to go. They gots to go.
Starting point is 00:05:45 It's time. Ankle-tight jeans. Okay. Get the f*** out. Let's make this a clothing round. Okay, clothing round. Okay, clothing round. Ooh, good.
Starting point is 00:05:53 What are you doing? Okay. You know how... I love when Callie puts her little paw on you. It's really cute. She's your friend. She's my friend. She's like...
Starting point is 00:06:02 Okay. So, you know when you spend, like, a decent amount of money on something and you get it and you're like, this can work. I can make it work. But then every time you put it on your body, something is just, like, not right. And you keep putting that thing back into your drawer, thinking one day your whole body may change. Your whole vibe.
Starting point is 00:06:24 I am getting rid of the fucking Spanx bra that my nipple comes out of. Just one nipple. I've seen you wear that bra. Every time this right nipple comes out. And I was so premenstrual and my tolerance was below zero that I put that thing on and I was like, no, not today. Spanx bra, burning it. Get out. Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:48 There are other things from Spanx that are probably fine. I mean, I like their leggings. Um, so mine isn't really a clothing item of mine per se, but it's a lack of a clothing item that some other people decide to not wear. And that is closed toed shoes on the airplane. This is something that we've talked about many times. So you're burning an open toed shoe on an airplane. Yes. Yes. I'm burning it. It's disgusting. People continue to do it. We don't need to see your feet. closed-toed shoes should be a requirement and i understand the people that are going to warm climates and they don't want to bring a bunch of different shoes i would much rather see that
Starting point is 00:07:30 birkenstock with a sock underneath it birkenstock a birkenstock with a sock is that is fine tolerance we have it for that yes that's true but like also your open-toed shoe is going to be your smallest shoe so that's going to be your easiest to pack so you should wear your sneakers right It's a flip-flop. It's very flat to pack. Yeah. Some people are very, like, minimal. They bring one sandal, one flip-flop for their beach vacation.
Starting point is 00:07:53 God bless them. But I need you to get a sock on that, too. Yeah, we need a sock. Throw a sock on. Okay. Okay, great. Burn it. All right.
Starting point is 00:08:02 Next thing for me. I have, you know, I love to read, obviously. I love to read. and one of the things i had been exploring at the fall of 2022 was like sorry jared a sexual book a a sexy book like because i'm not i'm not a huge porn watcher yet but that's actually i think what i'll get into next if i'm being honest um because i watched white lotus and there was like some aubrey plaza sex scenes with her hot husband and white lotus and i was like i am very turned on by this. Like, so maybe I'm into that again. Sorry, Jared. Um, so I, um, so I explored the Coho book
Starting point is 00:08:47 world, which is the Colleen Hoover books. Yeah. Verity. There's a couple. I downloaded three of them. Yes. I downloaded three of them for my vacation and I read one and I was like, this is so stupid. I can't like, even I who loves stupid books, I was like, this is the dumbest shit I've ever seen but then they are always having like wild passionate sex like eight times during the book right it's verbal porn yes and i keep trying because it is very popular yeah there's book clubs everywhere they're in every bookstore of colleen hoover they love coho well because it's like emotional porn like women have to be emotionally invested so they need to know the characters they need to know their relationships like blah blah blah it says so much about the psyche of a woman
Starting point is 00:09:35 um anyway colleen hoover coho i'm not buying i love i i'm into happy anyone that enjoys it great i'm not spending any more of my money on this because i'm just gonna watch porn okay she's a porn watcher it's new for 2023 i can't wait to see what kind of porn you can i love when you add things to your identity like this it's super exciting for us porn is the best um what theme are we going with well you can do whatever that was like a like entertainment yeah entertainment been fun times okay becca you go i have to i want to burn pickleball but i know that it's great why do you want to burn it it's just too it's too much guys it's are you playing it yet they're putting one in my neighborhood i don't understand what the difference between badminton tennis and
Starting point is 00:10:22 pickleball it's kind of like a marriage of all of them so if you like tennis it's great is there no bounce uh it's like a like there's a bounce it's a smaller court you don't have to run as much unless athletic yes because like older people are loving it that loved tennis that can no longer run i mean i would love to burn pickleball but i know that i'm going to be the one of those people soon you know what i mean pickleball skirt everybody falls oh otd yeah i would love to play pickleball with my neighbor david dobrik but he doesn't seem to invite me over to his pickleball parties which he had one last weekend and i heard it i saw everyone playing why don't you just show up you should show up wait can you do a tiktok of just showing up like
Starting point is 00:11:03 remember and then you can like show when he invited you having a party yes okay well he remembered like he would recognize you and he saw me on the carpet i don't know if he would recognize me out of context but i'll bring my e-news mic flag yeah great perfect camcorder yeah yeah yeah perfect i know what i'm burning what okay being on my phone and driving oh baby burn burn burn sometimes i get bad about it yeah and you know i'm at a stoplight i bring the phone out and then you do things and then sometimes it stays out and sometimes i'm like expecting a call or a text or a text and i'll just like peek at it but it is have you had any close calls we're like oh and then you're like back up put your phone yeah but like with curbs
Starting point is 00:11:49 not people oh yeah but it's next to people bad hey write it down to get one of those the things the mounts that they have no i think that's worse because you're looking you're still looking at it but like at least you're not looking down well i'm kind of holding it i don't know it's just bad it's bad you put it away it is a bad habit okay when we come back jack is letting go of something we're so excited that just thrive is sponsoring this episode of lady gang a few weeks ago we had a quickie about probiotics and how they are important they are and it's one of those things where everyone is like are you taking a probiotic and you're like i'm trying to live jane i'm trying to keep my life together probiotics i'm so confused and so that's why i was so excited to explain this

Starting point is 00:15:35 The Lady Gang. We're back. Jack, what are you letting go of? I mean, can it be a habit? Sure. Or a song? It's our game. A song?
Starting point is 00:15:44 Yeah. I am so over the anti-hero. Oh, well, obviously. I can't listen to that. I could only listen to it 10 times, and then my brain was like, nope. It was your favorite song for five minutes. It is interesting. Like I go, I'm going so hard on albums and then I can never hear them again.
Starting point is 00:15:59 Like a week straight, every song. And then I'm like, and I'm good to never hear you again. Back to third eye blind. Like it's wild. I know. Right. Okay. My, I know.
Starting point is 00:16:08 Right. You know, you know, Stephen Jenkins. Um, my biggest worst habit is picking at my nails. I can't stop it. It's I've been doing it since I was a kid. I don't know what the solution is other than getting manicures every week. But that's something that I would love to leave behind. Have you in your manicures been getting your cuticles removed?
Starting point is 00:16:32 Trimmed, de-trimmed? Well, I was recommended a new nail place from Afton. And she was like, they do Russian manicures. And then when I went there, I went there once and the guy didn't touch my cuticles. I went there the next time. I was like, do you do Russian manicures? He was like, yeah. And then didn't touch my cuticles again.
Starting point is 00:16:48 And I don't know if they just mean that they don't touch your cuticles. no russian is they go in on your cuticles yeah and it has to be like a very very sterile place like they can't be like yeah we'll throw one in once in a while it has to be like we are a russian manicure it's a telly underneath your cuticle they're cutting and cutting they're taking some skin it's you would love it yeah there'll be nothing left to pick there won't see you can try so hard would you come to the valley yeah because my girl's amazing and she's in a private residence there's one in santa monica too i think she's in her own office building by herself oh yeah and you can just watch netflix you just put on the tv and you literally she does
Starting point is 00:17:28 your nails and you can literally like talk on your phone you can do whatever because there's no one else i need this i feel like that's like my only i've gotten so bad at it okay write it down picking the cuticles picking the cutie cows kelty what's yours oh wow i have so many more you guys i'm just getting geared up i'm just getting geared up i am letting go oh i've got mine i'm calling her the guilt of fitness oh good guilt of fitness so i you know i have the and you know i write down every fitness that i do and all the workouts and i stupid yeah first of all i'm learning through working with my nutritionist and stuff like sometimes it's it's not actually the best to go hard like four thousand percent no at all time like sometimes your body
Starting point is 00:18:20 literally just needs to like do something nice or rest i'm being very intuitive with the way that i'm working out and i'm listening to my body being like you know what you need today some like stress relief go for a hike because you need to be around the trees and the sun and see other dogs and whatever. Oh, you know what you're feeling today? You're feeling very tense. Let's do yoga. You know what you're feeling now? You're feeling strong today. Let's do a Pilates class and like add a band or something into it. Like I just, I'm really being more intuitive and less like I do a power class every single day. And if I don't, the guilt and the shame I was feeling, if I didn't stay on track, it it's too stressful. Like it's actually working against me. And so with my
Starting point is 00:19:04 newfound love of going back to ballet core like it ballet is the only time where my brain stops and I think that's why I love it so much like even when I'm working out or when I'm on a hike I'm thinking I'm like okay one two three four and I was like wow you count so beautifully two six seven eight and then I'm like five more things to do and then I'm like list and like beautifully you know all these things my brain is like going you know but when you're doing ballet yeah I know but when you're doing ballet you have to think so hard about like just balancing and then also like you know i'm only doing ballet bars which is like you know you're doing like frappes and you're like and like all you can think about is just the sequencing of maybe that's how it is
Starting point is 00:19:42 when you play guitar like it's like flow flow you're like you're only thinking about the thing that you're doing and there's nothing else well and i love it so much more so i'm getting rid of guilt of fitness i will work out when i want to work out doing the workout that i feel i need And I will not no longer beat myself up if that's not 26 out of 28 days. I mean, I lived that life for such a long time when I was younger and it is the guilt just like eats you up. And that's why I think Bujo-ing as much as I know, it's like it keeps your life together when it comes to fitness and like marking off your day. Like there is nothing that triggers that guilt more than seeing like an empty square on your Bujo. so it's like unless you work out every single day of the month there's always going to be some kind
Starting point is 00:20:33 of a guilt there yes you know yes so i think that that's smart that's also the i love hot yoga for the same reason that you love ballet because i'm like i'm just trying to not pass out i'm trying to not die right now i'm just trying to like not fall over and you can't like think about anything else yep that's great yeah but if you are if your goal is to make changes and get healthier and get hotter you do need to show up for yourself and sometimes have guilt for fitness yeah no no for sure i'm not at the point where i need that anymore no that's what i'm saying no but it's like i can't handle like i have people in my life who are you know like i'm so i want to get in the best shape of my life before i turn 40 like those things and i'm like yeah well that means you have
Starting point is 00:21:18 to do hard things yeah yeah that's gonna take some determination so like you can't be intuitively working out when you're trying to yeah yeah i mean i just you know it's not all puppies and no for sure for sure puppies and pansies is the wrong term for that puppies and pansies but what i am done with and i want i am burning is everyone's dietary restrictions in the same vein unless you've been diagnosed with actual intolerances and i'm not talking everly or whatever the test that is but what i'm talking about when i eat a sub i poop my pants well that's different that's other issues those are other issues because there's actually nothing diagnosable that you have no that makes you shit your shit yourself after a sandwich yeah it might
Starting point is 00:21:56 be something else so i'm sick of i'm because it ruins it for people with real restrictions there are people who have celiac so you know what they should be allowed to go to a restaurant and ask for something that's gluten-free and not have people roll their eyes at them because all the other losers out there who are saying that they also have a gluten intolerance because of their hashimoto's it's proven that to if you eat a low gluten diet it's better i don't think it's the gluten part i think that there is something in it's like it's what you're putting in your body it's not the ingredient of gluten it's just that when you cut out gluten yeah you're often cutting out other things that are harmful and inflammatory but this gluten thing is just prove me wrong
Starting point is 00:22:44 people prove me wrong but i am standing for the celiacs of the world thank you for doing the lord's work becca i mean it does make people like chelsea our employee no it's people who have deadly allergy no it's true and she's like um is it okay if like there's no sunflower lecithin and like And she feels so bad because there's so many annoying assholes. It's true. Like me. Yeah. Hey, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:23:08 And if you have one, just keep it to yourself. No, it's true. I'll just diarrhea on my own. I'm not going to tell you. I mean, it is entertaining. Yours is not the gluten. I don't know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:18 I did eat three Timbits yesterday, like Dunkin' Donuts, little Kails, and then had explosive diarrhea. See, you know, I need some of that. Okay. Yeah. We'll try a Timbit. I need some of that explosive diarrhea. Okay. Last one.
Starting point is 00:23:30 Last one. Then we're going to burn this shit. Okay, I had talked about this on an Instagram post that I had done, but I am burning men, grown men, calling themselves boys. I don't, this, are you saying you don't think that happens? No, no, no. I don't think we're doing burn this right. Just, I'm just speaking on myself.
Starting point is 00:23:53 No, it's supposed to be things that we are letting go. And you and I have been doing things that just bother us about other people. yes i noticed that that i've been going very inward of like i'm no longer and you guys are like an open-toed shoe i was like okay i guess we're doing pet peeves now i didn't know and then i just realized i went on a tirade about something i don't do and i'm burning it it seems weird you guys this is welcome to it would have been nice to get a heads up about this like i know this is one of the things you usually tell us it's my fault it's coming up this is why you have everything on that you know what yes because normally other people you've done this so many
Starting point is 00:24:35 times so many times you're like we're gonna do this episode about this really like inward thinking other people's opinions and it's like yeah because you slept on it okay i'm like eight hours in and you're asking me i've been speaking for seven million hours and you got to like bujo about your dreams and your hopes and whatever you normally will tell us what we have to prepare for school the next day this was a pop quiz and you cheated yeah you're right you're right you're right i'm not burning this and i feel bad about my dietary restrictions tirade and i don't want to burn it because i feel like someone's gonna burn my house down about it okay we'll take that one out okay we're done well you know what i was scared honestly i was scared to light on fire
Starting point is 00:25:16 anyway so maybe we'll just throw it in the trash how long it's gonna take for this postcard forever also i don't trust that me neither i it's like literally we can give an emoji okay it's just yeah this is painted the oh no yeah it's toxic okay we weren't here for a long time we're here for a time of complaining failure thanks for listening the lady gang is produced by alex ingber steve delameter and jared monaco make sure you subscribe rate and review our podcast and if you love it share it with your friends on social media like oh my god i just listened lady gang this episode's so great swipe up to listen and if you really want to which we know you do please follow us on social at kelty at becca at jack vanek and at the lady gang sign up for our
