Starting point is 00:00:00 Hi, I'm Barbara aka your nursing educator on Instagram. I'm a registered nurse and I make content that's all about helping nursing students thrive. One of the first and easiest things I tell nursing students, if you haven't already done so, upgrade your scrubs to figs. Out with these stiff boxy scrubs, in with the ridiculously comfy well-designed figs that were specifically designed with us in mind. They're super soft, lightweight, and breathable with four-way stretch and moisture wicking fabric that keeps up during long shifts pockets are exactly where you need them the fit feels modern and tailored and they hold their shape wash after wash whether you're in class at clinical or working the floor you deserve scrubs that work as hard as you do go to
Starting point is 00:00:40 wearfigs.com and use code figs ca for 15 off your first order that's wearfigs.com code figs ca it's time for a quickie podcast one presents the lady gang the hollywood girl posse with lady gang quickie here's kelty knight becca tobin and jack vanek let's make this quick hello action kelty or no you're like a director of a movie that was almost at a um nancy odell it was level that was unbelievable okay hello hello hello because i was timing the timer and so when i pressed the timer i said action i hadn't looked up to see if we were ready you can just look at the time on your computer yes i don't have the time available on my computer i
Starting point is 00:01:35 don't i don't have that um option available it's just always there but no it's not it's not there on your what on your on your bookmarks yeah no on the top right corner next to your battery oh mine's like a clock oh it's because i have mine as view as analog it's like an actual clock face i'm going to change that view as digital what game changer sorry oh my god are we gonna leave all this in yes we're leaving it in so they can get an inner looking inner workings of lady gang An inner looking. An inner looking, if you will. That's a word.
Starting point is 00:02:09 Okay, we're ready. Well, welcome to the Lady Gang, Quickie. We're off to the races. I'm Becca. You're with Kelty and Jack. And wow, what a day. We are on one this morning. I just took off this CBD patch.
Starting point is 00:02:24 Oh, it's like a period patch? No, no, no. It's just like a patch, like a nicotine patch, but apparently it delivers CBD to you. Do you feel any different? I don't know. I'm not sure yet. I'll keep you posted. Let me start again. No, it's just CBD. It's not, it's not THC. Bummer. But are you, okay. It's to relax you. I know, but do you feel relaxed? I never feel relaxed. Um, the tincture CBDs really work for me for bed. I gotta be honest, like the droplets that I can tell a humongous difference. Huge. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:03:04 one of the highest times i've ever been in my life is when i did the tincture thc and it was like it's i asked the guy i'm like give me something that's like an ambient but like a weed ambient he's like this will do it and i take it and i don't feel anything for like three hours because it takes so long and then three hours later i feel like i'm in the universe zooming around having the worst high of my life and then just wide awake and i was like you guy can i tell you the best Ambien story I've ever heard in my life. Yes. So we have couples friends that they love when they leave their kids to like go to a hotel, have a lovely night together and then take an Ambien and then have sex on Ambien. Oh yeah. That's so fun. Apparently it's so fun, but scares
Starting point is 00:03:46 me for so many reasons because you don't remember. It's like sleepwalking essentially. Yeah. So our friends who shall rename remain nameless. They went one time to, they were at her parent, her parents' house and they decided for some reason to take an Ambien that night. Weird, weird, first of all, but they did a role play and they both remembered that too many levels for a parent house sex. I know they did a role play and it was that she was home to her chat. She's in her childhood bedroom she had come home because her dad had died what and he was a high school sweetheart who came to like check in on the family and she said they had this whole dialogue about like being in her childhood bed and it's so nostalgic this is this kind of shit you do on
Starting point is 00:04:38 ambient though for sure for sure and you're like and when you do it you're like this is gonna be good. Like they're lucky that they didn't like walk out naked into the kitchen to get some whipped cream or something. That's what I don't understand. So I'm too afraid. I'm never, ever. I don't think I could touch Ambien for so many reasons. And apparently it like really works like extra strength on women. Oh, really? Yeah. My dad, my dad knows this attorney in Atlanta who took an Ambien on an airplane and she woke up to being kicked off the flight because apparently she had found a cigarette somewhere she doesn't smoke and she started smoking on the airplane no way the one time that jared took an ambient i don't know if it was ambient or if it was like a
Starting point is 00:05:23 like an anxiety thing but anyways he had like an anxiety attack and then um went into the bathroom and had to strip naked and was like sweating on the bathroom floor and then was too scared to leave. So we just like stayed there for like hours. I have an ambience. I have a good ambience airport story. So when I used to judge dance competitions on the weekend, like when I was kind of between jobs, um, we'd fly in, in coach on like some of the worst flights in America. Cause you were always going to like Wichita. Like it was like always a small town. So you're always just on like a junkie plane and we fly. And I used to like bring my big pillow with me. Cause I used to fly a lot of like red eyes on a Thursday night so that I could judge on Friday
Starting point is 00:06:04 morning. And I would like take an Ambien so I could sleep the whole way and just like get over this junkie flight. And one time I remember, well, I don't remember anything about it, but I remember taking the Ambien and then sleeping and then waking up. And when I woke up in the morning, the other judge from California, this girl, Nikki was like, that was crazy. I was like, huh? And like everyone around me was like staring at me like crazy. So turns out i don't even know the details because i like heard it in the story but like i had some kind of meltdown on the ambien in the middle of flight and was like screaming and yelling and like so crazy and then like calm down and like have no recollection of it whatsoever didn't that happen
Starting point is 00:06:49 with selma blair on an airplane like she started screaming and having like a big outburst this was several years ago and it was like because of an ambien dude ambien makes you do weird shit it's twisted it is it's like it kind of just like takes you out of you know this reality that's my worst nightmare it's kind of like when i had to go under for my egg retrieval and they give you propofol like as you calm you down yeah to calm you down before you're in the world it's the greatest feeling it is incredible but it but the thing about ambient is it reminds me of going under anesthesia where when you wake up you have no idea what you say you just like stream of consciousness or like some weird dark pockets of your brain. And then you divulge
Starting point is 00:07:32 information. Like I love going under anesthesia because the propofol, but I'm always, I'm also so paranoid about what I'm going to say coming out on the other side. Cause you don't remember. Do you ever remember when we filmed it? Yes. And that's the thing is that in my mind, I was watching Kelty tell Dr. Diamond when she came out of anesthesia that he was so gorgeous and hot. And I thought for sure she would remember that. No, no memory. Well, you know, I think that that's like a good representation of the fact that like, it is your inner most honest thoughts that come out. I mean, it's true. He's a babe. He is a babe. Show me the lie. Yeah. No lies there. I want, if any of the lady gangers work in medicine and in surgeries, like nurses,
Starting point is 00:08:13 anesthesiologists, or doctors, will you please tell us the craziest shit people have admitted coming out of anesthesia? That is something I'm so fascinated about. And also, is there a trick for you if you're going under anesthesia to make sure you don't say anything crazy coming out because that makes me nervous has zach ever filmed what you've said well they don't actually they normally don't let them see you until you're awake until you're awake and it's probably because of that probably because people are gonna like admit affairs and stuff like that and be like i don't even want to like you anymore i think that's probably what would happen nobody needs to know like the deep recesses of our minds because it's all bad but i will say kelty when you were coming
Starting point is 00:08:55 out of anesthesia you looked at me and told me that i was so pretty and i now believe you every time you tell me i'm pretty because i guess who you didn't tell was pretty me dark so dark so dark all right when we come back i have some deep questions for us the lady gang all right we're back i found i was so you know a few weeks ago i was talking about redoing my pinterest oh my god is this the one when you found all those email pictures that you just inappropriately posted yeah so i found but i also started a board called like things for lady gang or whatever and i found like a really good tile that was like 40 deep questions to get to know yourself and find your life purpose. Oh, I'm going to help you guys find your, um,
Starting point is 00:09:44 life purpose. Great. Okay. So here's the first one. What small gesture from a stranger made a big impact on you? A stranger. Well, you guys think I'll tell you mine because I already looked at this. So I knew what I was going to, um, one of those we could have looked at. I didn't think about it till right now thanks you're so pretty um maybe if you're nicer to me jack i would say more things coming out of anastasia anastasia like the disney movie in jack's defense i was in kelty's face like i was right in front of her face i'm just kidding no i'm not kidding but it's fine so i remember when i was like very very young and my mom had a big pontiac like brown you know how the cars in the 80s were just like so long yes like the trunk in the front was just
Starting point is 00:10:32 like, yeah, like a boat car. And she took me to a dance workshop or something in the city, which is like an hour outside of where I grew up. And I remember us running out of gas and we pulled over from the side, on the side of the road and we had no gas and we couldn't get home. And I, from my childhood, like five-year-old memory, a friend of hers pulled over and she was like, oh, hey friend. And then the friend was like, do you need a ride? And we were like, yes. and then friend drove us home. And then later in my life, I realized that that was a stranger. Like that wasn't a friend just driving down the highway. It was like someone saw this woman and this kid clearly out of gas or needed help, pulled over and was like, oh my God, do you need help?
Starting point is 00:11:17 And then I remembered, so I always thought about that growing up. And then when I was in high school, I was driving home from my job at Joey Tomatoes being a waitress. And I remember seeing a woman whose car, the battery had clearly died or something. She was like on the side of the road and I pulled over I was like do you need a ride friend and she had a kid and like then I gave her a ride to the house and I always remember like that kid isn't going to be scared because of the like kindness of strangers but I learned that action by being having someone a stranger help me and my mom when I was very young so if you want to abduct a child just say hello friend no yeah that is weird get in my van I have candy it's small town though it's like small
Starting point is 00:11:57 small towns is when where those things happen anyway that is my that is nice a small gesture from a stranger that made a big impact in la if you pull up to someone and say hello friend they're immediately like rear ear alarm or they like think they're on like cash cab or something yeah i like do i need to sign a release i don't think i've had any like super nice gestures. Nope. Not by strangers. I don't think. That I've like impacted me. I can't think of one. No, no. Usually people have to help me because they want something. So dark. Okay. What makes you feel most alive? Laughing. Laughing. Like when you're with friends or like your family and something truly hilarious
Starting point is 00:12:48 happens and everybody just can barely breathe they're laughing so hard that is like my favorite feeling in the whole world it's usually with my sister because we have we find the same exact things funny because you when you share like a when you share a childhood you find all the same kinds of people and things funny where no where like other people would be like that's not funny at all so then i can like laugh like that with her usually i love that um mine would be driving down pch windows down blasting florida georgia line or florida georgia line i just have had so many moments in my life where it's like either i'm like really down or i'm like celebrating something and i can always remember driving down pch like looking at the ocean wind in my hair
Starting point is 00:13:36 and that's a wonderful moment nice kelty what's yours so good um i think when i'm in nature i've said this before. Like, I just love being in like an ocean. That's like very crystal blue. And I'm like just floating. I have an idea for our trip. Yes. It's so good. Lake Powell. Have you heard of it? No. Yes. In Utah. Well, she's Canadian. I don't know. She doesn't know where the ocean is. We should do an RV trip. They have these luxury sprinter RVs and we should take them to lake powell and it's crystal clear water it literally looks otherworldly and you can or you can do a houseboat on lake powell yes which is both sounds so fun okay so fun let's do it we're doing that's the vibe that's what we're doing yeah that's great yeah because i was gonna say
Starting point is 00:14:31 in my emmy gift bag i just got two nights in punta mitad for free and you're there in my emmy emmy winner gift bag i don't want to be on a flight right now i know but for later okay can we drive to Lake Powell? Yeah. It's like eight hours or something. Is that going to drive the RV? I don't think we're so good. Well, we can probably just do cars if we're doing a houseboat once we get there. Yeah. All right. This is boring. We're not going to, but if anyone has any tips for us, please DM. Does anyone have a houseboat on Lake Powell? Do you have a yacht we can borrow? There are rental houseboats. Okay. We're going to look into it. That's a vibe. All right. Now that we have a plan, we have to go and make our plans. Um,
Starting point is 00:15:11 Thank you. Don't text us about it at 10 p.m. on a Saturday, Kelty. Okay, I won't. I was on Ambien. I'm sorry. No. Okay. We weren't here for a long time, but we're here for a really good time.
