Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey guys, the following podcast is a Lady Gang Network and Podcast One production, which means it's going to be awesome. Podcast One presents the Lady Gang, the Hollywood girl posse with Lady Gang Quickie. Here's Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek. Let's make this quick. Hello, hello, hello, and welcome to the Lady Gang Quickie. Just the way I like it. I'm Becca.
Starting point is 00:00:28 You're with Jack and Kelty. What's up? Hi, guys. Hello. I'm really excited about this quickie. Are you? Why? Because I think it's such a good idea.
Starting point is 00:00:37 Oh, like in general, the quickie you're excited about? No, like this exact episode. Oh, what are we doing? Well, we're – so I had – we're doing it like an – okay, you know on Reddit, they do an AMA, Ask Me Anything? Okay, well, I'm doing it – we're doing an AUA, which sounds like an STD. Ask Us Anything. And we have 112 questions on the Facebook group.
Starting point is 00:01:00 Are we going to do a rapid fire? I mean, we're not going to rapid fire. We're going to do two quickie because there's to get through all the questions. But some of the questions are really good. All right. Let's do it. Do you have a quote, though? Yes.
Starting point is 00:01:11 Okay. Hit us. Okay. Hold on. I got to get it off my phone. I have been really busy saving more quotes because I felt like towards the end of the year, my quotes got kind of boring. Yeah, they did.
Starting point is 00:01:24 That is so long. well this one is i know it's really long oh my god no no i just wanted to remind everyone um do you remember the sunscreen song when you were a kid boz larman when he was like don't feel guilty if you don't know what you want to do with your life the most interesting people didn't know what they wanted to do at 22 and some of the most interesting 40 year olds still don't know do you know that song no that's a song and he raps on it kind of and it's like everybody's free to wear sunscreen sounds familiar but oh my god you don't remember it okay anyway here's like my favorite part of it don't congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself your choices are half chance
Starting point is 00:02:09 so are everybody else's enjoy your body use it every way you can don't be afraid of it or what other people think it's the greatest instrument you'll ever i do you know what this song is and And it's like, brother and sister together. Remember in the 90s? No. It was like everyone's high school graduation song. It's kind of, yeah. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:02:30 Okay. Well, anyway, we can't play it because we can't clear it. But anyway, that was it. Oh, those are the lyrics to it? Those are the lyrics, yeah. Oh. I often think when I'm like exercising and cursing the world that I'm like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:02:41 One day I'm not going to be able to move my body like this. So let's just be grateful. That's the only way I can get through a workout these days. Yeah. thinking about not having it all you've got it's all we've got amazing all right ask a u a didn't you do a uh reddit ama once culty yeah why of course she did everyone does it when you're famous okay okay ready when we come back back the lady gang all right okay a u a do you like comic books
Starting point is 00:03:13 no nope that's it is it a turn off if a guy is into comic books like obsessively like someone's like oh my god it's my dream to go to comic-con i mean i've always wanted to go to comic-con so i'd use that as like an opportunity to dress up yes you would i think that most adults who are into comics well this is a real generalization it's a very pisces thing okay is it they like fantasy. My favorite thing you've ever said was when we're doing the show talk about Harry Potter and your side comment, you're like, I don't like fantasy. I don't. I hate fantasy. It was so funny to me. That was funny. Not into fantasy. I hate it. I don't like anything that's not real. I think if you're a comic book collector in the way where you're like getting really expensive ones that are
Starting point is 00:04:00 worth a lot of money, I'm into. Okay. Nicole said, if you could do any other career, what would you do um be the wife of a rich man i was actually having this conversation with afton last weekend of like what would you do if you had a trust fund yeah and like you didn't have to worry about work to like pay for your life and i'd probably be a travel blogger a travel blogger that sounds like my worst nightmare because here's the thing i love wouldn't need you wouldn't need to blog for me to get this shit for free i don't think i'd be able to just do nothing oh you need a purpose i'd want a purpose and I'd want to be productive but in a way that was like completely on my terms. I feel like that
Starting point is 00:04:38 and I love to travel. That's like all I want to do. I would be a professional organizer like going to people's closets. You know you could start doing that. You could start at my house. Also mine. I don't have any time. Small spaces. Yeah. I just love like all those organizing Instagrams.
Starting point is 00:04:53 They are fun. We're trying to get one to come on but she's New York based so next time we're there we're going to get her. Yeah. She's legit. Allie said, are you constantly exhausted or is it just me? I am, but I mean, I don't think a lot of people are. Exhausted? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:13 I think everybody's exhausted. I don't know. Here's – bringing it back to the amazing holidays again. Like why is it that we go to like – even my sister and like Zach's family. Like it's never-ending energy. And I just sit like a sloth around because I have no energy. Are they lying? No.
Starting point is 00:05:33 They legitimately love doing things, being out and about, whatever. I'm a sloth. They make comments about it. Is it because – okay, I have a theory on this because I also sloth. Is it because we have to be so on and like on point so much of the time? And like on point Hollywood standards, it's even more like on point so that when we do get a break, we go into like conceal hibernation mode. I think so. I will say as somebody that was so outside that world and never had to be on at all, being thrown into a situation where I did have to be on and as an introvert that literally sucks the energy out of me, I definitely slothed a lot more after like doing our TV show and stuff.
Starting point is 00:06:22 But – and I'm the type of personality that I'm always out and about. Yeah. But it made me want to like literally go in a cocoon and not talk to anybody or move or do anything. Yeah. I think that's what it is. Yeah. And also you have to understand that for your sister and for Zach, like the holidays and
Starting point is 00:06:37 you coming home, famous Becca Tobin, is the highlight of their year. No, it's not. It's definitely not. It's really not. Are you sure? Like I'm not just saying – it's really not. It's not like it's like her high school. I'm not like Gwyneth Paltrow.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Like I – It's also her family. She's on this one teen show, okay? But I think it's like a big deal for them. No. Like it's over the monotony of energy. People have energy. Like my sister works insane hours, has two small kids, and yet she still has energy to like do other things.
Starting point is 00:07:06 I'm like I just – I'm not wired like that. Yeah. It's okay to be exhausted all the time. Well, this goes into Brittany's question. Her question said, how do you all maintain some sort of energy? I'm mom to a one-year-old, work full-time, and then studying to get my nursing home administrator's license, and I'm constantly exhausted. Brittany, you shouldn't be anything other than exhausted.
Starting point is 00:07:28 Yeah. And you're talking to the wrong people because you're doing like 10 times more than what we're doing. And we're like, we're so tired. I'm so tired. We don't even know how to speak on that because we don't have kids. Kids add like a million. A million percent.
Starting point is 00:07:40 You're not sleeping when you want. You're sleeping when they want you to. It's not your life. And you can no longer check out when you're home. No. You have a job at home too. Or if you're sick or if you're, oof, PMSing or anything. My secret to keep going is that I have done two things.
Starting point is 00:07:56 A, I make – No friends. I'm no friends. No social. The holidays proved it. Yeah. I was at home for like two weeks by myself and I was like, I have no hobbies and no friends. No one came to visit.
Starting point is 00:08:07 I tried to meet up with you once. Didn't happen. No. No one came. I had dinner with one friend. No one came to visit. No one wanted to visit. No one asked if we could get together.
Starting point is 00:08:15 People have just stopped asking me. Did you and Chris do anything at all? We did nothing. Do you ever like go out to dinner or anything? Oh, we went out to one dinner. One dinner in two weeks? That's insane. Jesus.
Starting point is 00:08:24 This is the first time we've gone out to dinner at a restaurant for so long. Do you think Chris wishes that he was doing like more activities? Well, Chris was traveling and he was working and like I think he would like to do activities, but also like we hate people. Anyway, that's like a whole other thing. That's not part of the ask you anything. But anyway, you have to get enough sleep and number two, you have to learn how to say no. don't do things because you just feel like you have to yeah because then your tank is even
Starting point is 00:08:50 emptier like do the things that you really want to do that you need to do yeah when it comes to things that you don't have to do make sure you want to do that yeah if it's not like a mandatory work thing like if it's the bake sale at school you don't have to make grandma's cookies go over to sprinkles buy some goddamn cupcakes and resell them like make it easy my sister also started doing things like um outsourcing so there's like this app i don't know what it is and it's like you get like a butler for as many hours as you want you pay hourly and like she hates folding all the laundry because when you have two kids it's all that you're doing so she's like you know what i decided i'm not i'm gonna spend the money even though i could do this myself for free i'm
Starting point is 00:09:34 gonna pay this woman to come to my house once a week for two hours fold all my laundry like yes I'm spending money but like that's time and that's valuable for me. And if it's a task that you absolutely love doing. Yeah. Yeah. Done. Leslie, what was the most ridiculous reason you got dumped or dumped someone?
Starting point is 00:09:53 Leslie, so good. Leslie. Leslie, good question. Oh, well hold on. Leslie asked the most ridiculous reason you got dumped and Madison added or dumped someone. So this is a Leslie Madison. I dumped a guy
Starting point is 00:10:09 right before my 21st birthday because I wanted to have a wild night and I wanted to have endless opportunity. No. I swear to God. My 21st birthday,
Starting point is 00:10:20 I needed endless opportunity. Whether that was just dancing on a bar, taking my top off, sleeping with someone else. I needed endless opportunity. I like that. So you were like,
Starting point is 00:10:29 gotta go. I was like, bye. Wrap it up. Yeah. Was he heartbroken? Yeah. Wow. Still is.
Starting point is 00:10:34 Just kidding. But I slept with him later. I slept with him. Yeah. And then he got it. Like seven years later. Oh, wow. Really late.
Starting point is 00:10:41 Yeah, yeah. The guy that I was dating, the last guy that I dated before the guy I'm dating now, I ended up breaking up with him because he was the cheapest mother in the world and he would not give up the time that he spent $100 on our first date. I can't. And it was like three months later. Wait, what do you mean? He would always talk about it.
Starting point is 00:11:00 So he took me out on a date. He also didn't understand why people went out to dinner and why people went out to drinks. It was a whole other thing. I mean. he has a point no for the financial reason oh he's like well i could just you know make food at home like why would i go out he okay never wanted to go out to dinner cheapy yeah didn't understand it but he knew that i liked to like go to a nice dinner watch a sunset like whatever so he took me to a nice dinner it was a hundred dollars for both of us and in la that is a steal
Starting point is 00:11:28 that's like where were you denny's like subway and two months later brought it up every single time that i saw him and i finally got to a point where i'm like you've got to stop like have fun you're also not like a broke college kid he was a scientist he was a scientist i remember that i remember him too yeah i kind of was excited because i was like it was a real job like this is great for you this is i i really had to go longer than i should have because he was really good on paper but it really there were so many things that were not aligning with both of us And I came to a breaking point. I'm like, every single time.
Starting point is 00:12:07 You're like, farewell. What's the dumbest reason someone's dumped you? Hey, what do you think about, I mean, dumping people? I'm sure there's like amazing reasons that I've been dumped. I want to say that in like junior high school, I was somewhere cheerleading and someone, I was at the park and like for some reason, you know, sometimes like when you were young and you were wearing like training bra, maybe I was younger. I can't tell you why.
Starting point is 00:12:32 But someone saw down my shirt and then started yelling at the school that I had hairy nipples. Well, you do. I know. But at that point, you were like – So is that when you found out you had hairy nipples? That's why I'm so traumatized by this. But I remember like my grade 7 boyfriend was like – And he left you because of that?
Starting point is 00:12:51 I think so, yeah. Did he even ever see your nipples? No. No. You don't see boobies at that age. It's just been a rumor. He just broke up with you because you were a dick loser. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:01 Yeah. And I also remember Danny Boyle. I remember I was dating him. He had a broken nose and a broken arm from snowboarding. So you broke up with him because he broke his nose? No, no. He broke up with me. But I remember specifically like walking down the hallway and looking into his locker area at lunch. And he was sitting with this girl, Christina. And Christina, I think, had a crush on him. So she was convincing him to break up with me. And I think that he didn't really want to break up with me. But then he was like, hey, can I talk to and we went over by the lockers and then she walked by and she looked him she's like did you do it yet and he hadn't done it yet and i didn't know i mean i knew it was coming because i could
Starting point is 00:13:39 like have that feeling you know like in eighth grade when they ignore you no it's so where's christina now well here's the thing i do know because we're facebook friends because we were like all in the same group and she's like hot and i think married to someone like really rich and lives in australia so like karma did not get her i know i'm so mad but danny i have tried to look up. I can't find him. Maybe he's dead. Oh. Oh, God. Okay. All right. Wow. That really took it to like a place. I like to find all my ex-boyfriends to see like to make sure that I'm doing better them. Okay. Well, someone said, how do you create your manifest list and if you have any guidelines for it? I mean, Kelty, take it away. So I like to do things, some things that are health,
Starting point is 00:14:22 some things that are personal life, some things that are like how I spend my days, and then also some lofty like business goals. I always like to have like one or two money goals and I basically write them down. I keep them track of them all year long in my phone and have like a running list of like, oh, next year I should try to do this. And then on New Year's Eve, I sit down and I whittle it down to like 10 of them that are the most important. And no dream is too big, girl. Okay. Next. Alondra. I'm tired. Pretty name. I know. Sorry. How do you guys continue to believe in yourselves we don't we're delusional i don't know people just keep asking us to do stuff and so yeah we would have given up at this point i think it's a lot of external motivation yeah
Starting point is 00:15:07 from us and i think between us three as much as we it's our job to like shit on each other i think that we all respect each other a lot and like lift each other yeah in that sense brooke wants to know will you ever change the podcast picture it's weird seeing becca without the becca oh my god that's so funny oh yeah we have like long hair wait i'm looking at it right now we do need to change that photo i know but do you think it's like i kind of love it because i think people will be looking for that like when i go through my albums or my podcast like i look at the thing it used to change it's been three years let's do a vote should we do a vote yeah let's do a facebook vote should we change the photo it would be kind of cool if you just be me exact photo oh yeah with
Starting point is 00:15:52 our like if we did the same thing but with like our current hairstyle so it looks more it would look different one thing that's always really bothered me about this photo can i just let you know yeah if you look at it closely there's one dark tendril coming down on my hair do you see it okay i could photoshop that out in one second i know and we didn't and it always bothered me because it's my extensions because i didn't have a lot of hair at that point and the extension was too low. I'm sorry. I know. It really bothers me. It's unfortunate. But my belly is like really flat. So I always appreciate that. I might have photoshopped that too. Okay, you dick. Okay, next. I photoshopped mine. What is your favorite? Oh, Madison. What is your favorite thing about
Starting point is 00:16:30 one another? Oh God. I feel like we've done this, Madison. I know. Like any of our interviews that we've done. Oh God. Okay. Karen, we'll skip that. Sorry, Madison. Well, I'll do it for you, madison jack is very creative and she inspires me to go outside and becca like outside my house okay yeah like i'm like oh i should also go to a bar okay and becca my favorite thing about becca is that she no dream is too big for her she'll be like you know what we should open a restaurant and then like we'll be like i'll be like oh my god go f**k yourself becca that seems like crazy And then, like, two years later, we'll open a restaurant. Like, it's so weird.
Starting point is 00:17:12 Okay. You guys don't have to. See, who's the real manifester here? Yeah. Okay. Elizabeth wants to know, what is something each of you personally struggles with? Ooh, living. Dark.
Starting point is 00:17:25 Just kidding. Damn. I'm still in the holiday bullshit spirit. I know. What do I struggle with? I mean, I'm just, like, I'm literally about to go. I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant.
Starting point is 00:17:38 Does not struggle at all? No, I got to think. Yeah, I struggle every day with most things. So I'm trying to really narrow it down here to what's important. I don't know. What do I want to talk about? Okay. I struggle with skimming, having too many things on my plate, remembering to be nice,
Starting point is 00:17:53 body language. I overbook myself. Like I think that everything takes a shorter amount of time than it does. So I'm always constantly like kind of running behind and that's driving me crazy. I have hairy toes. that's it I have the same problem of what did you say over exerting yourself
Starting point is 00:18:12 yeah like overbooking I have the same problem where I have too many projects going on and I can never like fully accomplish anything within one because I'm like doing 500 of them at the same time why don't you do what skinny confidential said and like block out your days
Starting point is 00:18:28 like today's first degree because with her it's a lot easier because all of her shit is her own so she can put her own schedule together but i'm working with like five different schedules so i think it's easier if you can do it like that i'm just kind of and then i'm also just scatterbrained maybe you should make lists do you have a planner i've tried that so many times doesn't work bullet journal no have you done a bullet journal the bullet journal looks like my worst nightmare it would i just know i'd start it and then i wouldn't use it after two days yeah i know myself too well it also feels
Starting point is 00:19:01 like homework for someone who does like like who i really enjoy doing the bare minimum in life why am i going to give myself extra work yeah but it's not it's the perfect thing for if you are someone like me who cannot meditate like i cannot sit there and clear my brain it's not happening and i also cannot waste the time like adult coloring or doing other stupid shit i can't watch reality TV or like just like chill out and be like, this serves no purpose in my life. So the reason the bullet journal is amazing because it's like a form of meditation. You're getting your life in order, you're coloring, you're drawing, you're stenciling, but it also serves a purpose to keep you organized so it doesn't feel like wasted time.
Starting point is 00:19:44 But remember when the tarot card reader told you that you should probably just do things that have nothing to do with work? Yes. As like a meditation? Well, on my manifest list, I don't like to tell people, but I do want to sleep in a tent. go camping this year and also I have on my list go to three concerts none of those things
Starting point is 00:20:02 serve me and have a beach day all four of those things have one beach day go to the beach I live in LA I live in LA I never go to how often you go to the beach I go to the beach very often how often you go to the beach like pack up a cooler and like yeah it is hard to
Starting point is 00:20:18 like when I lived in Hollywood I never went to the beach because it really is like an hour away it's a pain okay we're going to end it with this great question Karen was Becca actually acting on Glee or was she just playing herself she was savage and hilarious I loved it um tell the truth definitely acting the things I said on that show were insane also I was like way spunkier than I am in real life like way like peppier okay does she think you're like Michael Cera who just reads the same character and everything I mean yeah if I was if
Starting point is 00:20:56 If this was what was on TV, like me as a real human, well, it would be the lady gang. But also – Because we have that show, actually. But like as a character, it's just not okay. Like it's boring. So no. Like you – your personality as a character. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:11 Yeah. Would be not – I mean, no, I'm not agreeing. Like, yeah, it's boring. Well, but it would be not an exciting person to watch. I keep waiting for us to get famous enough by us. I mean, Jack and me, that we have our own GIFs on the internet. because I love when we're in a group chat
Starting point is 00:21:26 and then someone asks me something and I can just like reply. Oh, and you can find a GIF. But like only Becca has them and like I have lived in your GIFs. Wow. They're amazing. I think that we have tried to make Lady Gang GIFs
Starting point is 00:21:36 for our TV show. Yeah, yeah. They exist. I don't know if they exist on like the, on like text messages. Not on the popular internet, just on the internet for us. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:45 I also want to say that at 26 when I was playing that role, I was not nearly as like dark and cynical and tired. Oh. so yeah you're joy I mean that ponytail had pep I was a really happy like optimistic person at 26 and way nicer way nicer I loved being at work every moment you know every like so when we shot something I won't say what it what it is because you guys will look for it but we recently shot something as a group and the whole time I was like get me out of here I was very vocal like I
Starting point is 00:22:21 was like i'm sick of working for free i need to leave i'm tired like that is a 180 like i would go to work ugly at 5 a.m and then i'd be wrapping up the day at like 8 p.m and the pa would be like hey we have to force your call tomorrow which means you don't get like your full turnaround and i'd be like great cool like i would just like and i would show up every day like every day so yeah i that is a completely i think that's such a difference between like you were not fully an adult yet you know what i mean like once you're fully an adult you're like this i'm tired yeah yeah 100 okay well this has been really fun we have more ask us anything's coming next week i hope you um and if you want your question answered keep adding to the facebook post because it can
