Starting point is 00:01:16 Here's Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek. Let's make this quick. Hello, hello, hello. Welcome to The Lady Gang Quickie. I am back in here with Jack and Kelty and two very extra special ladies. There will come a day when we will combine our shows to take over the entire podcasting planet on episodes of Ladies in the Office. But today we get to enjoy two of our faves, Lovers of the Bachelor, New York City crop top wearing and Jonas Brothers loving podcast host of the iconic People's Choice losing show, just like ours, Chicks in the Office. In fact, the last time we were in the office, I believe that I, we mentioned that we don't like
Starting point is 00:02:01 short guys and almost got tossed out of their office in New York City completely. But alas, they've got a brand new office with an already broken sign. So we're so happy to welcome them back on the show. Fran and Rhea from Chicks in the Office. Sorry about your sign. Sorry about your coworkers that we called short. Hey, thank you for having us. That was a wonderful intro. yeah great intro i was taking notes during that i was like i should start introducing people a little bit better but that's why that's why when we combine into a mega show that's when everything yeah exactly thank you for having us um i think when you guys were in the office all the boys were intimidated so it's okay i'm pretty sure that the last time for the second the last time
Starting point is 00:02:41 we're in the office i was trying to find myself a boyfriend there that's true yeah that's true and we were looking for tall guys we're looking for like a yardstick and we were holding it up next to men in the office yep like real dirt bags that we are yeah just be like me looks you over there stand up that's what we like it well i am very interested in this because i noticed that you had done a pod trade with scrubbing in and you were kind of saying that you were putting like the beef the rumored beef of the you know scrubbing in and chicks in the office had a side and i just like was wondering why we didn't have a beef like what is the beef like is the beef because they won the people's choice award and then must i think it must be yes well one because we're all losers
Starting point is 00:03:26 and they're winners and right okay um i think their fans took us a little too seriously when we joked about um potentially it being rigged yes many of times and um and that didn't sit well with them and in their facebook group they took offense to that and i wrote a whole blog after and i think that's where they really had a problem with with it because after they had won i mean i congratulated them as well but i was joking around saying it was rigged and that did not go over well but then i reached out to them becca and tanya because i had seen so many people were dming us like oh my god i can't believe you would talk like that like all these people are so mad so i reached out to them to be like hey guys i just want to let you know like i was joking
Starting point is 00:04:10 and they never answered me so oh they said they never saw it yeah they never saw it but we're sure we've mended it all right our we're all one big happy family and they knew we were joking it was just the listeners that didn't so i guess now we know who has the lamest community watch out becca i'm walking right into that one and truly if if just saying if the people's choice awards on e had been rigged yes we would have we were expecting them to rig it in our favor because this is the thing we had that lined up yeah we had it lined up for both you guys if you guys won we also 100 i would be like they have a show on e it's rigged okay okay well yeah and we like i actually think it is rigged and the fact that they didn't rig it in our favor like they rigged
Starting point is 00:05:01 it in teen wolf's favor but not ours like it's kind of fucked up and we were launching a brand new show like we really could have used the momentum i wonder why that we didn't get renewed you know you could have a little award you didn't pay him enough money probably there you go i don't need that award anyways yeah it sucks anyway i really didn't need that award um but i accidentally just got nominated for another emmy so this will be my uh my sixth nomination and then if i win it'll be my third win but like i didn't even work there this year that's kind of well awards and award if your name's on the list the name's on the list um okay so i have so many things to talk to you about as my jonas brothers experts i want to know did spaceman flop why are the jonas brothers
Starting point is 00:05:45 on tour as a trio again what's happening with nick's solo career i need you to weigh in okay i'll tell you right now um sensitive subject spaceman i thought was such a good album coming from you know whatever everyone knows i nick has always been my favorite but spaceman i thought was great the problem is they're just always going to be better together the hype is just never going to be there for just one of them nick is the only one who's gotten anywhere close like when they broke up when they broke up joe put out a solo album i know and that video in paris looks so expensive everyone's like he's the next justin timberlake and then it just yeah it just did not it never worked it never clicked nick is the only one who's kind of like
Starting point is 00:06:31 been able to get there but it's just tough doing a solo album like so close after them getting back together it confused a lot of people and everyone was like well wait we just want what happened in the jones brothers album we were supposed to get a jones brothers album in 2020 that they just delayed and nick put out this album instead so it was kind of like it was it was all very confusing and now they're going back on tour together because they just know that they're better together they're going to sell way more tickets as a jones brothers tour than they are if nick jonas decided to go on tour by himself okay so you're not putting that out like they so they announced their third together and then nick jonas put out his own solo record of course that's gonna
Starting point is 00:07:09 flop correct i don't think that the space in general as a accoutrement for an album ever works the only time it worked was oops i did it again i don't even know what you just said okay i think it's called space cowboy or something no the record's called spaceman but it's like when people use space as their, Oh, the theme board, like he was in the helmet and then he was like standing on the rocks, like looking grungy. She's saying space is just a no, it's not hot. Like, because I can't go there with you. Like I realized that I cannot go to space man with you. So that's the fantasy. Yeah. There's no oxygen. Like there's no fantasy there for me yeah but it's it's almost more poetic it's like you loved each other so much you went to
Starting point is 00:07:59 space and you just got your oxygen cut off but you guys didn't care because you were together when it happened but then you just floated away to your slow death and then everyone's like wow they went to space together and died up there it's a good way to go out in my opinion um i want to know wow this went to a dark place yeah really i didn't think that was that dark it was romantic don't let her judge you no it's fine question from both of you what were you doing before the podcast i never got to ask you this before oh i love talking about this um i well i will say i here's the circle tech no pharmacy tech come on friend i know and also before that people love when i bring this up too i was a child model and actress from when i was eight
Starting point is 00:08:47 years old. If you didn't know. If you didn't know. She never brings it up. Never. So that's what I did. Like, I always knew I wanted to work in entertainment of some sort. I thought I was going to be an actress. Many, many auditions, many failed. But I just, I went to school for film at pace, dropped out after one semester. And then I worked as a pharmacy tech every single day because my parents were like, you're not going to not go to college and also not work. So you need to go to work every day so i did that six days a week um i was a pharmacy tech and i loved it like i talk so fondly of my time as a pharmacy tech i loved the pharmacy it wasn't like like cvs or like duane reed or something it was like a family-owned pharmacy in my town and the people
Starting point is 00:09:34 that worked there were amazing and i was filling people's prescriptions i learned so much like i don't nobody should have allowed me to be a pharmacy tech in other states you need to have a license for that in new york you don't i thought you had to be like you had to go to your doctor no you literally like nope honestly i will say the pharmacy tech does more than the pharmacist the pharmacist gets the script they just punch it in quickly on the computer and then they pass it off to the pharmacy tech and the pharmacy tech has to fill the pills bottle it up do the whole bang make sure it's all counted right if you get up it's on you lots of pressure but i very much enjoyed it um and then i started going to school at fit and uh my friend glenny balls that's what
Starting point is 00:10:17 he goes by here i went to high school with him and he got an internship at barstool and i had been a fan of barstool and i texted him like congrats whatever and he was like actually they're looking for a girl because the only girl at the time was the ceo erica so then i came in as an intern and then you were the second girl at barstool um pretty much i mean there were like there was like one other sales girl uh marina technically was working but not in the office yeah so i was i was definitely we're top five top five for sure damn i came in six months after ria did and was kind of in the same spot like i was in school uh came in also as an intern in school for broadcast journalism uh and then also proceeded to drop out after like six months of working here
Starting point is 00:11:02 and being like well i'm doing what i'm going to school for and um school is like taking away from all the actual real life getting in the way i'm getting right now and uh dave and erica were like hey we'll you know we'll you guys can be full-time employees you'll be salaried employees and we're like awesome bye school see you never basically they were like if you drop out and commit to this yeah you'll be full-time wow and what was your like claim to fame moment like i have seen you post some of this on your social media before like your modeling and acting days like what's like the piece de la resistance oh man that's a good question i mean i did a lot of like print shoots so macy's right like macy's kohl's she's still up in some store i literally i'm still up
Starting point is 00:11:48 and you drive through like brooklyn it's crazy some people will just message me when you're a kid yeah like pictures of me from seventh grade are still used in storefronts and people will send them to me like is this you like a back to school ad yeah yeah back to school like i was on sides of buses i was on a huge billboard um in king's plaza which is i think in queens at their mall like huge billboard but i did a lot of like print stuff but i really wanted to act and i have been on so many cool auditions my first audition ever was for salt to play young angelina jolie and they only they only auditioned eight girls and none of us looked like angelina jolie and the girl that got it certainly does not look like angelina jolie speaking of acting uh i do
Starting point is 00:12:33 want to ask you quickly did you watch bachelorette last night obviously you did and what did you think of the new format um i i'm happy about it i we were skeptical going into this into this season just with like what product we were going to get from it but it feels like hopefully we're getting like your run-of-the-mill normal average season of a bachelorette where like there's stupid drama but it's not like mean or angry and and she hopefully falls in love and it's just like the a plus b equals c formula that they've always followed and i mean we love taisha and caitlyn So we're like so down for Tayshia and Caitlyn to like have their job in this because I think it's going to be actually a lot better. Yeah, I think it was better than I was expecting it to be.
Starting point is 00:13:23 I won't say that I was like super excited and not for any specific reason. It's not because like Chris Harrison's not there or anything like that. It's just that we had so much back to back to back that I was kind of enjoying the break of it. But after last night's episode, I think it's going to be good. And I really enjoyed Tayshia and Caitlyn as well. like she said we love them and um i think katie's gonna be good and i thought it was a really good group of guys too do you guys know do you read spoilers or do you just go into it no we don't because we we re like we put out a full episode every wednesday that is just our bachelor
Starting point is 00:13:59 bachelorette recap and i think it's like in the back of our minds we knew what was going to happen it would ruin our opinions and like we god forbid we reveal something that people don't want to know because then people go scorched earth on us like the bachelor spoilers if we ever say something that like isn't totally public knowledge we have to flag a billion times before we say if you don't want to hear this information turn this off right now or else like people freak out yeah okay when we return we are going to play a game with the girls called never have you ever office edition which is all about petty theft so uh we'll be right back i cannot say how grateful i am to obey the fitness platform that I have been living on since COVID started. I can't believe it's already almost July. I feel like summer just started and I need it to slow down a little bit. And when I feel this way, I just pick up a Coors Light because Coors Light is the official beer of slowing down summer. Summer always feels like it's the shortest season, especially to me. It's my favorite, but we need to make the most of it, and we all just need to chill out a little bit. And as the beer that is made to chill,
Starting point is 00:16:07 Coors Light wants you to savor every second of summer. Rediscover and enjoy what makes summer so awesome. So when you need to slow down, just open a Coors Light. It's mountain cold refreshment that is made to chill. So Coors Light is cold-boggered, cold-filtered, and cold-packaged, which means it's literally made to chill. It's as crisp and refreshing as the Colorado Rockies, perfect for a moment to unwind this summer. It's my favorite beer to grab in the afternoon after a long day of work. So Coors Light is the official beer of slowing down summer because as the beer that's made to chill, they want you to savor every second. Starting point is 00:17:49 All right. We're back with Fran and Rhea from Chicks in the Office. And since they work in an office and Jack has never worked in an office. and Becca no office and I've worked in office so we have three office people this is the thing I've always wanted to talk about stealing stationery from CBS but I've never been available to because these bitches have never worked in an office and now that we have chicks in the office on we can talk about it so this is a game called never have you ever office edition now I ever by the way never have I ever oh never have no never have I ever sure sure office edition
Starting point is 00:18:19 and we're going to talk about all the like weird shady shit that goes down in an office environment and becca and jack if you could just play along and and enlighten me and maybe bring some of this into your own world of being on set or being at the warp tour it'll be fun okay are you ready number one stolen office supplies chicks absolutely i mean we live in an animal house like you just take things off people's desks like crazy the they get that like wholesale all the pens and stuff. I guess they don't need all those, all the paper, computer paper pens. I'm not even sure people use pens around here. No, they, no, not, not often, but easily take stuff all the time. Yeah. Have you, have you ever, um, like, do you have someone that will
Starting point is 00:19:04 like mail the mail for you? Technically? Yes. Okay. Yeah. Like I think my biggest petty crime in the office is that I used to like, just put my personal bill mail in like the mail slot and then they would stamp it and like i didn't buy that stamp so sorry i i have done it i mean never to like the stamps but because one i feel like i'd never have to mail a letter ever but sure if i've ever been to like 1945 return um like i give sometimes my personal items that like from clothing stores that you know i have to return that i bought online that i'm like oh could you just put this in with all the other stuff like yeah um have you ever called in sick when you're not sick yes fran and i queens of calling in sick yeah i mean also like there's really not anyone
Starting point is 00:19:55 being like oh re and fran aren't here today but yeah like there used to be it used to be a way more like terrifying to in our old office just because we were all in there all the time and dave was always around erica was always around and we were all kind of on top of each other and we also did radio every day which we don't have the channel anymore so when we had the channel radio was going on all day so it was like chicks in the office we were on for an hour every day so it was like if you you had to be there so there were definitely times where we were like oh god i don't feel well can't do radio today and there were definitely times where we wish we could do that and couldn't remember after the jonas post thing i was throwing up during radio the whole
Starting point is 00:20:33 time yeah i would i would just i was just running from the radio to go throw up in the bathroom so was so hungover and then run back and talk on the radio yeah yep did you ever call out of a shoot like i'm sick but i'm not because they find you right when you're an actress well you basically just can't call in sick it cost them like a hundred thousand dollars to like reschedule like an insurance day is what they call it and you like you kind of just can't people come to work like with very serious ailments but yeah you're kind of a dick if you don't show up like it's there's no working around it thankfully ria and i would do it to each other so it was we're not screwing anybody besides each other yeah exactly you're totally okay with it you know i really am
Starting point is 00:21:16 just i can't today and i'd be like it's fine i'll like somebody else will do sometimes go back and forth you know and in our group chat with our producer we'll be like oh we're we're sick but then one of us will text each other on the side and just be like oh i'm just like in the worst mood right now like when you guys call in sick though do you have to worry about what you're posting on your instagram if anybody's gonna see it or you don't give them like we said it used to be way more as long as you're not out and about like i would say if you were traveling somewhere and you were just going on a fun vacation and you were posting about it that's definitely not tell anyone that is not something i would do not a good idea but if i think if you were taking
Starting point is 00:21:54 an off day like you're truly doing that because you don't want to be on social media or anything that's why i would take off is because i genuinely don't want to be like yeah we've never like called in sick when in reality we like wanted to leave early for a vacation or something like is ever like friday morning like oh i actually want to go to the beach early i'm not going to come in and like say that i'm sick because that's you know you'll get caught doing that every time it's more of the days where it's like we know we're physically fine yeah but it's like we just don't want to be here and at that point health day yeah exactly exactly what you would say to your parents and like when you would go to school it'd be like mom i i feel fine but i just like i
Starting point is 00:22:33 need a mental health day boom you guys were the generation that actually had that in their vocabulary not at all um did you ever email like the whole thread office like reply all an email that you just meant for one person there was like a talk shit email that i have never done but there have been people in the office before like the other people have done that which is very funny like when you just see like a email that goes to all barstool content and like somebody hits reply all and gives like their sketch like just says something stupid and you're like this is such shitty work and then you're like wait okay for who my job yeah yeah oh no we have i have never done that no no what do you love the most about your job and what do you absolutely hate i can
Starting point is 00:23:20 share what I hate the most about our job. And maybe you can, um, you could, maybe this is something that you hate or it's not. And I'm curious if it is. Okay. I hate recording a podcast and then getting texts from my real friends commenting on something we discussed on the podcast. Cause it's like, I already had this conversation. You already know my opinion on it. Like it's, it's sort of like, I need to keep the podcast separate from my real life and my personal relationship so like do you have like an aunt that's constantly texting you being like i also love the jonas brothers and you're like god damn it kathy just shut up like this is just my job yes i have it in a way that it's like kind of similar to that but where i almost want to be
Starting point is 00:24:06 to some of my friends like just can listen to my episode if you want to hear my opinion i mean come on i talk about the bachelor all day long on tuesdays and then like i have a group chat of my friends who all watch the bachelor and they'll be like oh my god fran did you see this and i'm Like, yeah, of course I saw it. It's my job. And if you want to hear what I have to say about it, you can listen to tomorrow's episode because I don't want to talk about it for the sixth time.
Starting point is 00:24:28 I will say one other thing I hate is I feel like maybe at the beginning of our show, we cared a lot less about what people were going to say to us or like about our opinions. And I think that's why people really liked it. And then I think as time went on, we maybe got a little more nervous to like really let our opinions fly and i think everybody in the world but even about shit that
Starting point is 00:24:55 you shouldn't be nervous about you know what i mean just like normal opinions about like celebrity gossip that you probably shouldn't care what people say but then you're like wait should i say that oh cut that out oh this that i'm just trying to do that less because i just still want to be myself and just stop worrying what other people think about what i say or anything about me i think i don't like that but it comes with the territory it's really hard well listen on that note we love you we love all the versions of you that you are congratulations on everything i'm so glad we got to have like a little baby check-in today um you guys can listen to chicks in the office every fucking day everywhere you get podcasts um at chicks in the office and follow
Starting point is 00:25:35 the girls um i'm gonna fuck up your last names you guys i i would like i would like to hear you give it a shot here okay he will she will fuck up everyone she except for mariah john smith it's her mo francesca mariano we know yep yep good it's it's it's maria yeah maria's last name is tough maria cuffo no chifo chifo okay not the worst i've ever heard i mean well okay anyway foresee many drunken sunday or hungover sundays in your basement recording together have so much fun in the hamptons because we're old and we can't anymore jealous we weren't here for a long time we were here for a good time thanks for listening the lady gang is produced by alex ingber steve delameter and jared monaco make sure you subscribe rate and review our podcast and if
