Starting point is 00:00:00 it's time for a quickie podcast one presents the lady gang the hollywood girl posse with lady gang quickie here's kelty knight becca tobin and jack vanek let's make this quick hello hello hello welcome to the lady gang this is your host chris knight along with your co-host becca jack and kelty we're recording a very special edition of the lady gang podcast podcast from, where are you? Salt Lake City? Yep. From Salt Lake City and from Los Angeles, California. Today is, I don't know what day it is, but it's the day the next podcast comes out. But Beck and Jack are not here. Okay. So that wasn't such a good intro. No, you did great. And I love that you know the intro so well, and it makes me
Starting point is 00:00:44 so happy when I hear you do that. So thanks. Anyway, I thought this was a perfect day for us to record the podcast because I've been quarantining in Salt Lake all week, and we've been apart for the first time realistically for like a couple nights of sleep since the pandemic started and we used to spend almost all the time apart and now we've been together for like nine months so this is the perfect time because i actually no offense like i really miss you i've had the chance to miss you a little bit and so i thought this is a good time to do this why would you say offense why why why do i take that as offense i'm glad you it's like i don't miss you i don't miss you when we're together like all the time well that's normal
Starting point is 00:01:19 I don't get sick of you, but I'm like, I could use some alone time, you know? Yeah, for sure. So just like Dolly Parton's famous words to you, right? Yeah. What were they? Don't spend, the secret to a good marriage is don't spend too much time together. Yep. There it is. I'm paraphrasing. I don't know. I wasn't there. So I'm just saying roughly that's maybe what it was. And so I don't know if you know this, but the last time you were on the podcast, I think it was like around the beginning of the pandemic, like nine months ago.
Starting point is 00:01:45 Oh yeah, that's right. We had a ton of feedback and people were like, it's the most Kelty thing of all time that you made the Chris episode of the podcast about Kelty because all I did was ask you about how you felt about me. It is what it is. So this time we have to learn about Chris Knight. But I did that. I want to just say I did that out of respect for you and I was protecting you because I know you didn't want to talk about yourself. So I just stepped up and became the star of the room because I know you just want to be in the side watching Well, no, I mean, listen, I just think that you're very good at what you do and this whole thing is where you shine
Starting point is 00:02:24 It's not really where I shine. No disrespect to me, but like, you know, we're gonna make a good podcast I'll let the people who know how to make a good podcast lead What I think is so cute is we're doing this on zoom right now and chris is so tall the zoom is cut off It's only his nose in his mouth. Can you move your camera a little bit? Okay, sorry I'd like to see your face. So we're recording. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I guess my first thing is, can you tell the Lady Gang viewers a little bit about yourself?
Starting point is 00:02:49 Like where you grew up and what you were like as a kid and all of that. Okay. So I was born in San Diego, but when my family, when I was little, my family moved to Los Angeles when we were young. Maybe I was maybe three or four or somewhere in that range. But I spent summers with my grandma in San Diego until I was maybe 13 or 14 or so. um and that was like really great memories because we went to sea world in the morning i would go and play with the penguins play with the penguins is not actually true you just can just watch
Starting point is 00:03:19 that was kind of a like a normal summer routine we go every morning we go to sea world and hang out for a little bit and come home in the afternoon and go swimming and go to the beach or a bonfire on the on the harbor there um so yeah san diego has very fond memories for me and you started your first band when when was the hiccups oh man that's a good story so it wasn't there was stuff before that as well so my grandmother different my um my fraternal grandmother gave me different so again a different grandmother uh gave me i can't remember 25 or 50 dollars or something for christmas once and i took that money it wasn't enough to get a like buy a guitar but i could rent a guitar so i took it and went to the like local guitar shop and they
Starting point is 00:03:59 loaned it to me for like five bucks a week or 750 a week or something like that um and i rented this acoustic guitar and then my parents uh got me lessons so they like take me once a week for lessons and i was like trying to learn these ridiculously like heavy rock songs my acoustic guitar crash into me because you knew eventually in your life if you played crash at a party you'd get laid no i didn't try to learn any dave matthews my guitar teacher was trying to teach me like blackbird and things like that i think i did learn it but like i wanted to play i think i made him teach me oasis probably yeah like like punk rock songs and you just he wasn't that impressed but anyway so we did that for a little while and then a couple buddies got together and
Starting point is 00:04:44 we started practicing in my garage but we all play guitar so that's what goes so well but we tried to start a band anyway i think the band was called free knowledge because our geometry teacher mr horowitz who was god bless him a great soul horrible math teacher not a single person in the class knew what was going on but there was a sign in our math class that said free knowledge and so we're like oh that's so punk rock let's call it free knowledge and so we were called that for a little bit um but by the time we actually got a band together with like a real drummer and real players and stuff i think we eventually we were called inside out and then there was another band called inside out so we had to change our name and that's when our singer
Starting point is 00:05:24 decided let's just call it the hiccups so we did that and then that was probably my junior year of high school somewhere in that range and then when did your being a musician start helping you with the ladies to be honest like it didn't ever really help that much sorry I mean I was thinking about that the other day like when you were talking about it I was like did it really benefit me I don't I don't know if it did I didn't really take advantage of it in that way not that I should have but you know what I mean like it didn't really I was either too naive or I didn't really realize what was happening or maybe the power i had being you know as a musician but whatever so we've recently i've been telling all of the ladies like we've recently had all of our home movies moved to
Starting point is 00:06:09 this site and so we've been watching some of these old movies so then you were in this band lemon sun and you guys actually got signed and then like played concerts you opened for the killers and like i can watch home movies of chris and i'm like oh my god skinny man playing bass my love what tell me that story yeah so we we started so so the singer i've been in the basically the same band with elite singer since we were kids right we had a bunch of different projects we had free knowledge we had the hiccups we had some other things we had like an acoustic record that we made in his bedroom where we like tapped cans with like sticks and weird shit it was like ridiculous but anyway that was just fun we're trying to figure out what we were doing and how
Starting point is 00:06:46 to become a real musician because we were we were all self-taught we didn't really know what we were doing so we're figuring it out as we went and then we wanted we knew the sound of what we wanted to do we just didn't have the other players in mind and so we found a drummer who was a friend of mine who i've been working with on some other projects in the studio we went to his studio we paid him i don't know a couple hundred bucks to use his studio and to record some drums and then we built the songs around that drum take that we had and that was what became lemon sun so from once we had the drums we then spent the next i don't know three months like working away tirelessly on these five songs in a little like office space slash rehearsal space in vernon california and there
Starting point is 00:07:29 were some days we'd get there and there was like it was near a meat packing plant and someday the smell was so atrocious that we'd get there and we just turn around like it was putrid it was unbelievably bad but anyway once we got through that we had this band lemon sun and so once we had the songs we we put out the music we put out and i had to find other players and then we were able to get the rest of the band and then from there we started just to play shows and people started to like it and then the guitar player was friends with um the drummer of the killers and sent him our tape and he's they're like wow you guys are really cool do you guys want to open for us we started doing that and then we had i think the video you were talking about is the long beach
Starting point is 00:08:08 arena in los angeles um where we opened for the killers at that big show which was it was awesome it's really fun and then you were like nah i think i'll just be a manager so i needed a job right because being at the biz even though we were opening for the killers we weren't really making any money right so all the money we made really bent went to pay for things in the band like you know equipment or rehearsal time or i know all about it but lady gang yeah exactly so any money you make actually just goes right back into you know your your endeavor which was fine you know like it was self-sufficient and we made some money ironically i made more money from the band when i left the band than when i was in the band but you know there um i needed a job so i was
Starting point is 00:08:54 always interested in the business side of it as well so i got a job in the music business while i was trying to pursue a career as a musician as well and so at some point I just kind of had to decide you know which one was I better at and to be honest there wasn't the greatest basis and I realized if this band didn't go I'd have to find another band and I didn't really have a stomach for that so I eventually gave up being a musician and just focused more on the business side and the business side was going really well at the time and I had some big jobs and was working for some of the biggest acts in the world and they were you know pleased with what I was doing and so I gave up being a musician to start work full-time with um with being a manager I will say though
Starting point is 00:09:37 that my boss at the time a guy named Irving Azoff was incredibly kind um and more forgiving than I think any boss could be but I remember at one point I came to and said hey I have to quit and he's like why do you have to quit I said well I plan this all I do know Chris is that every time you turn your head your headphones go on your hoodie and it makes a scratching noise in my ear so please look right at your wife and tell this story oh my god okay see you later gang fans this is how exciting it is to be married to kathy knight um anyway no my um my relationship for sure communication though you know you gotta you gotta say what you need it's true it's so true i'm an excellent communicator so i basically i went to my boss and said hey i gotta quit and
Starting point is 00:10:20 he said why i said well i'm going to be gone for two weeks for this trip south by southwest with my band and then i had a vacation plan so i'm going to be gone from the office for like almost a month i just don't feel right about that he said don't worry about it this is a great learning experience for you when you come back you can get a raise and i want you to like you know dive back in i was like amazing so wow um yeah i didn't know that story yeah so i guess that's one of the reasons i'm sort of ever indebted to him for just really believing in me and you know making sure that I was able to grow and do my thing when I was still young and trying to figure out what I was going to do with my life. So, um, and what is your proudest career accomplishment?
Starting point is 00:11:03 Um, you can't tell, but I'm looking around the room to like see some plaques and look at all your plaques and be like, well, what's interesting about Chris is that I keep wanting him to go to therapy because I think he has like, um, he has like the worst kind of imposter syndrome where he it's not even like me where i'm like i believe that i'm so great but like then in my secret i'm like am i great he just like has no idea how great he is so this is actually like me putting you in therapy but um in a nice way but like what you've done so much you've had such so many really really cool experiences yeah i've had some great things like i remember there was a time when i had the number one song and the number one album from different artists at the
Starting point is 00:11:42 same time i remember that that's a lot i mean i was pulling my hair out because it was so busy and so much work but um had the biggest song of the entire year for a little bit change change culture i mean i think that's if we look back on it in a few years like yeah the moments i was able to change culture that's what's going to stick with people not a song or not an artist or whatever it's like oh that was a cultural shift that we all remember yeah um so chris knight now we know a little bit about you and now we're back to the questions so when we come back chris knight is going to answer some of the questions you should answer you should ask your husband before you hi I'm Barbara aka your nursing educator on Instagram. I'm a registered nurse and I make content that's
Starting point is 00:12:21 all about helping nursing students thrive. One of the first and easiest things I tell nursing students if you haven't already done so upgrade your scrubs to figs. Out with these stiff boxy scrubs in with the ridiculously comfy well-designed figs that were specifically designed with us in mind. They're super soft lightweight and breathable with four-way stretch and moisture wicking fabric that keeps up during long shifts pockets are exactly where you need them the fit feels modern and tailored and they hold their shape wash after wash whether you're in class at clinical or working the floor you deserve scrubs that work as hard as you do go to where figs.com and use code figs ca for 15 off your first order that's where figs.com code figs ca or you marry him via the
Starting point is 00:13:05 internet. Here we go. The lady gang. All right. So we're back. So I took this list of 20 questions that you should ask your husband before you marry him off the internet. And I'm giving it to Jack and Becca and me, and we're each doing an episode. And so we're each going to be asking the questions. Okay. Are you ready? Not sure, but let's try anyway. We're going to start off really hard. How do you handle disagreements? Well, you and I don't have too many disagreements, which is, which is nice, right? No, I think, I think ultimately we kind of have the same expectations on things and have a very similar outlook, which really, really helps. As far as how do I handle disagreements with you
Starting point is 00:13:53 specifically, I pick and choose my battles. I think that's what I'll say. So there's like very few that I care about at the end of the day. I'm like, no, I have to have this. And then I'll tell you. And then you're like, okay, fine. But 90% of the time, I, you know, I could guess it's fine, whatever. Would you, if things got really bad between us, would you ever consider divorce? How bad? Probably not. But when I consider divorce, let's just say I never, no, it's not. I would just say, I hope to never have to consider divorce. I think there's probably a way around it. Oh, I love that. How can I be better at communicating with you? Well, I like to hide away. I go out of town, I do not speak to Chris Knight. I just go on my own
Starting point is 00:14:36 time. When you go and hide away, that's what sort of makes me scared because I don't know what's making you upset. I don't really know. There's really no way to fix it. And my go-to feeling is I got to find out what's wrong and then fix it as quickly as possible so we can just move forward. and I try and do that, but sometimes that's not really the right answer. Sometimes you just want to like be sad or you want to be mad at me for a little while. And I think of learn to give you a little bit of space to do that, but I can maybe count the times on one hand that it's been really, really bad in 10 years. So yeah, that's good. What a blessing, huh? Yeah, for sure. We are great together. I agree. I agree. Yeah. And sometimes, you know, I think you learned over
Starting point is 00:15:18 the years that sometimes for me, and I think this is a lot of women, like just the way we are, sometimes it's just about like hugging us and loving us and like letting us eat the cookies and not so much about a solution. Like, I think because you're a manager and you fix people's lives for a living, but a lot of times I'll be like, you know, something will be wrong and you'll be like, well, we could do this. Or you'd be like, it's going to be okay. And then I would get so mad and I'd be like, it's not going to be okay. Even though like, of course, it's going to be okay. We're going to be okay. You know what I mean? Like I get it. The dinosaurs and the asteroid are not coming. Like I'm going to be fine. But sometimes like it annoyed me so
Starting point is 00:15:53 much when you would be like, well, we'll just call this person and everything will be okay. And I'm like, no, I just want to be crying and take a bath and eat these cookies right now. And cookie dough raw out of the fridge, you know? Yeah, no, that's true. Well, the other thing I really got myself in a pickle with like was the last cookie experience. So we were talking during that you were angry about something and you're like, what would make you happy? Like, God, it would just be great if I made cookies and like we could just eat them I was like okay cool so like later in the day I'll make cookies but I did and then I was like hey do you want a cookie and you're like I don't want a cookie and I was like whoa do you remember that yes like I something
Starting point is 00:16:28 was really wrong I actually think Chris it was when the book came out and kind of our whole plan of like going on tour I was so sad for two days I don't know how much we've I mean we've kind of alluded to it and it seems really petty in, in, you know, relation to like what was happening in the world. But at the time, like I'm such a planner, we had spent almost a year planning this like book tour with a bus. And like, I had my bags packed. Like I was so excited and we're going to be on good morning America and we're going to release the book and we're going to have the clothes at the shows. Like we had it all so perfectly. And I was like the one time in my life that everything is like coming together in such a beautiful way. And when it all blew up,
Starting point is 00:17:11 like, I think I cried for three days. And I remember you came into the bedroom and you're like, do you want a cookie? And I just wanted to be sad. Like, I just didn't, like, I was not, this was just not something I was going to get over in 20 minutes. You know what I mean? Yeah. Then you're like, oh, you're like, put your tail between your legs and went to the other room. I was like, okay, cool. So we don't want the cookie anymore. Okay. Got it. Good to know. Good to know. And on that, like, listen, it's, it's petty to think in the comparison of things like,
Starting point is 00:17:38 you know, was it a really, was it a real hardship? No, but it was something that you really cared about and you put a lot of time and effort. So you have every right to be sad and to be angry and to be upset about it. Yeah. And I think you guys did a really good job of bouncing back and figuring out ways to do what you envisioned and just in different ways. Yeah, for sure. Okay. You know, we talk a lot about like a sexy date night or the weekend, but I want to know what your, and I know the answer is like going to be crazy, but what's your ideal weeknight, your ideal weekday evening with me? Well, mine would be that Chris stops working at some point and we spend time together. And it's true, but that's fine.
Starting point is 00:18:19 True fact. My ideal weeknight with you is that I do stop working maybe at some reasonable hour. Well, no, like maybe at six and then we go to dinner. Like that would be my ideal weeknight. sort of we've never done that that's not true we went to the sushi place on the corner once oh yeah that's true um but that would be my ideal weeknight sort of like hey what are we going to do and spend some time together because then like you know when we're face to face like we're not working we don't have to be on our phone we can have a conversation right yeah we're best if we can and p and they the girls always make fun of me because they're like you go in these like insane trips where you're like we're on a boat in the middle of the seychelles but like that's that's
Starting point is 00:19:00 our love language like that's what it takes for your brain and my brain to calm the down and like be present you know um it's definitely something i'm working on at the moment in my life that i don't think you have the bandwidth to work on yet but it's like you know we we we don't we can't really like turn our brains off when we're in the same house or you know like i imagine other couples like laying like you know if we sometimes we do it when we go for walks we'll like put our phones in our pockets and like but we're usually talking about work or shit that happened that day that we're trying to like process you know true yeah no i think it's that work hard play hard mentality so we need to have like a huge change change of scenery for our brain to think about
Starting point is 00:19:42 something different you know okay that's okay real hard questions what's the best thing about marriage and like as an institution almost you know oh it's an institution doesn't have to be about our marriage i mean that is like a real loaded question well i don't know i can't really speak about marriage in general because i only have one experience but i think the best thing about it is like to have someone on your team that's like there for you no matter what i mean you can rely on them for anything and just know that they have they feel the same way about you that you do about them like you you both committed like yeah we're all in right and that's amazing what's the worst thing about marriage? I haven't decided on that yet.
Starting point is 00:20:29 Are there so many things that you're deciding between a few, a handful of terrible things about being married? No, no. I don't know. I don't know if there's something that's so egregious that would rise to the top of the list. Well, I think that we talk about this all the time. We obviously think men are trash, but there are men out there who want to be married. I think you're one of them. I think in general, you like having a person and you like being married. And I'm so hot and so sexual that it's like, I feel like you're happy to be married to me. I don't ever overhear you complaining about the ball and chain, but maybe you do. I don't know. Do you behind my back? Probably. No, no. No, the nice thing is you're so awesome and there's so many
Starting point is 00:21:12 great things about you. I can just gloat usually when I'm talking about you. Well, that leads me to my next question. What would you do if someone said something bad about me in your presence? Do I have a bat or no? No, I don't know. Well, it depends on what it is. I haven't heard anybody say anything. Most, most time when I, most people want to hang out with you more than they want to hang out with me. So like even clients or like colleagues of clients, whatever, it's like, Oh, did you bring Kelty? It was like, did Kelty come on this work trip with you? I was like, no they're like why didn't you bring her and i was like um it's not exactly how it works but give me an example what's i mean that someone would say negative about you i don't think anyone
Starting point is 00:21:56 would say anything negative about you to my face you know yeah probably not no like if they knew that we were married i can't imagine they would no but maybe if they didn't they'd be like oh we have this interview with this asshole she's such a dick you know then i would love to rub it in their face and be like oh you mean my beautiful wife guilty and just make them feel like an idiot is it weird okay is it weird to um watch me age this is gonna be my last question is it weird to watch me age like i think when we met you're like aging in reverse oh i love you it's filler um but like that is a weird thing like when you met me i mean i don't think i was in my prime yet but i think when we got married i was like probably my most beautiful
Starting point is 00:22:43 like around our wedding um and then it's like it's hard because you're like body and like everything kind of like you're i still feel good about myself but it's definitely like i can see that i'm getting to 40 you know is that weird because no here's the truth well okay you can say what you want about me but let me cut you off there for one second the truth is when we first started dating there were some there were some bold choices happening you know in your in your attire and some things and like i was like all right cool like a feather earring a feather one feather earring was a bold choice the tiny top hats were also a look um there was the purple unitard or yeah with the fur was it fur unitard no it's like a unitard with a fur coat but it
Starting point is 00:23:30 wasn't a full coat it was just like a half cropped coat yeah but you never said anything you should have been like what the are you wearing but you wouldn't tell me you were so excited about that look what am i gonna do crush your spirits no that was horrible we're so excited about that look and i was like oh boy um so there were some things and like you know the rock and roll jackets and this and it was it was fine for the time but yeah i think you you become much more chic and much more elegant in your your choice age no i mean you just you just know what what works for you you know i mean yeah but how do i look naked excellent okay okay all right last easy question which would you choose dishes or laundry
Starting point is 00:24:17 i feel like you were lying when you said excellent what do you mean why no because it sounded like you weren't convinced wasn't convinced that you look great yeah i mean we can take the subject offline but you remember our last conversation chris is too chris is too shy to talk about it i understand you're so cute thank you my love um i would probably say dishes because i feel like i do the dishes quite a bit anyway i haven't done laundry i haven't done laundry in quite a minute so yeah well i love you chris knight and it was very nice getting to know you did we learn anything i feel like we didn't learn much i learned a ton i don't know maybe the girls will be like don't ever have chris on again but the last time you're on people are like his
Starting point is 00:24:58 voice is so calming and warm and you know like we talk about you now 350 episodes worth of chris talk so it's like you know i live with you so i know what it's like but our i don't think our listeners really how many of those episodes you think was like trashing me some for sure how many of the 350 how many you think we're trashing oh let's just let's say round it up if there were 50 episodes where chris and i was discussed how many of those would be trashing well trash is a strong word you know um you are you're the love of my life so i don't want to say trash i think trash maybe three i think something no i think trash one or two i think round out that other 10 with like things that went wrong or that I was disappointed at. And then I would add another 10
Starting point is 00:25:52 to, you know, the group grumbling of relationships. They're not really you, but it's like the, in general of like men are stupid or men do something. Yeah. Like men, like they get like, what's our word when you're sick or you get like a, like it's a perfect example just recently happened. We never talked about it, but I'll, I'll just bring it up on the podcast. So like I broke my toe or like allegedly broke my toe a couple months ago. Um, but it, I mean, it was purple. I sent pictures in, I compared to the internet. I was like, Oh my God, my God. And then like the next day, like I couldn't walk, I couldn't put a sneaker on. And the next day you were like coming to bed and you had like a bruise on your arm and you're like, Oh God, so bad. And
Starting point is 00:26:32 I was like, you're such a man. Like I get bruises like that all the time. I don't even think about it. Yes. You got like, you hit something in your workout and you're like, Oh, you always want to like a look at your bruises i'm like it's a freaking bruise like i get bruises you want always want to look at my bruises that's true you love to look at your bruises and be like i don't know if you need mothering you need like compassion like but it's like the the man flu you know what i mean like a woman flu and a man flu are so different it's so interesting i don't need a reaction but i do i do love to recognize my own bruises like when i play hockey and i get hit with a puck or a stick or something like massive bruises on my legs for weeks at a time it
Starting point is 00:27:07 fascinating to me because it's purple and then it becomes yellow and then it becomes green and then it goes away. Okay. So you're just gross is what it is. It's like, you don't even need, cause it's just funny. Cause I'm like, you realize like that my uterus is shedding itself like every 20 days, right? Like, I don't know that I can like get on board with your like, oh, poor you, you have a bruise, you know? That's true. I don't need a poor, poor me. I got a bruise thing. I don't, I don't need that. I think it's more, I'm fascinated by my own, my healing process of why do you want to show me? Cause I'm your buddy. Yeah. Yeah. I'm like, wait why is my arm purple that's weird right science this is see this is why we had to do
Starting point is 00:27:41 the podcast now i know every time you babe i love it when you show me your bruises i don't think you're anymore i know that you're a scientist and that's fine can we take this time to set the record straight on a particular subject that i know came up on the podcast sure there was a moment in time where i said to kelty how many downloads oh my god are you bringing this up wow. Yes. Okay. Okay. Let's do this on the podcast. Okay. I mean, we can discuss later if you want, but, but yes. And I just want to set the record straight about what happened so that like, I'm not ostracized for the rest of my life about, you know, what I was thinking. Right. So please, there was an opportunity to, we were talking about, Hey, how do we do this X person
Starting point is 00:28:22 to get on the podcast? And my brain immediately went to, okay, cool. How do I start selling it to the rest of the people on my team and this and that whatever and how do i like bring this into a reality and listen trust me i know how amazing the lady gang audience is and the lady gang host and the whole thing like it's incredible and what you guys have built is astounding i know that i've lived with it for how many years three years five years wow that's incredible oops now i'm gonna get ostracized for that for the last five years i i totally get it but at the time i was busy i was swamped i was thinking about other things i had 10 other things you know happening in that next 10 minutes where i was focused on i think so what came out of my mouth was cool army with some
Starting point is 00:29:05 ammunition that i can go and take and sort of like whatever what i should have said was you know what that's amazing i totally get it i'm gonna do it um i'm gonna call the client right now here's how i can get it done and then if you don't mind send me your one sheet i'll send it to the team we'll get everybody on board blah blah blah you know and be done with it but what i said instead was how many downloads you guys have, which I knew that a hundred thousand was coming up or maybe I just passed, who knows, but I opened out the insert foot and I'm very sorry because as you know, I didn't mean it that way, but what I said was pretty shitty. So, well, I have done almost three hour long sessions in therapy about this. So I'm good. And I knew you didn't mean it like
Starting point is 00:29:52 that. But what happens I think with words is that in relationships, and this is why I think we are great together is we do communicate like once I get over being mad, is that when someone says something to you that hurts your feelings, it's never really about the thing that they said and how it hurt their feelings. It's like the trauma that it brings up in you from like everything else that's ever been in your life. So when you were like, how many downloads do you get? It wasn't like my husband asked me how many downloads, it was like, you're an imposter. Nothing you do matters. You're never going to be matter. You're never going to be in the big leagues. Who do you think you are? Like, that's where my psyche went. You know what I mean? So that's like really my
Starting point is 00:30:33 own issue that I have to deal with, which is why I got in therapy and talk through it and came to you in like a calm way and was like, okay, here's what it makes me feel like. This is why, you know, your words hurt me. I obviously know you're a stellar, awesome person. Like we've been together 10 years and I can count on two fingers, like the times that you've ever hurt my feelings. You know what I mean? Like it's so minimal. Like you, you did not can tell me not to wear the unitard and you should have, you know, even when you should be hurting my feelings, you refuse to. And so you're an incredible man, you know, like an incredible man. And so, you know, it's, it's never about that. And I think that's why I love therapy and I love our relationship because I'm
Starting point is 00:31:14 able to sort of be like hey you know i have this imposter syndrome where i work work work and all i want to do like even when we first met i was like i just want to be on someone's list to be like the choice the coolest you know and i'm still like clawing at that and so that's why it got there but i'm thank you i appreciate your apology i on behalf of the lady gang accept your apology we are no longer allowed to put comments or make this an inside joke the chris knight appreciation song is back in rotation and um i do love you it's yeah thank you um it's so interesting the stories that we tell ourselves in our own minds right and we make it up and i can't remember who i was talking about this with i think it might have been therapist or psychologist or
Starting point is 00:31:54 someone who not that i was in therapy but it was someone who had that background it was like your mind wants to make these connections it wants to fit all the pieces together so they all make sense and so like you figure out a story you can tell in yourself in your own mind so that it all makes sense to you right it's probably not the truth and it's probably not what really the other person was thinking or had but like your brain needs to go there and put all the pieces together so you take the worst things of your mind you put them together and then boom now it all makes sense um exactly and i think it's important like for me to be a better communicator and for all of us to be better communicators honestly and then not to believe the story that
Starting point is 00:32:33 we tell ourselves we should believe what the other person says or you know what the real story is right exactly well we're way over time and the kelty and me is freaking out so i love you we have to go i'll see you tomorrow i can't wait to see you are we going to what time are you home we're not going to talk about this now but i'll text you okay i want to go to the dog park yeah we'll go to the dog part no okay maybe okay um we weren't here for a long time say it with me But we were here for a good time.
