Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey guys, the following podcast is a Lady Gang Network and Podcast One production, which means it's going to be awesome. It's time for a quickie. Podcast One presents the Lady Gang, the Hollywood girl posse with Lady Gang Quickie. Here's Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek. Let's make this quick. Hello, hello, hello, and welcome to the Lady Gang Quickie. I am Becca here with Kelty and Jack.
Starting point is 00:00:28 The Kelty? Did you just call me the Kelty? Kelty is so type A right now. She's furiously checking things off of her to-do list. You're like, I'm going to go get my Sharpies so I can check off things as we talk about that. You literally are having like a minor orgasm checking things off of a to-do list. I just love, like, I think this is the nicest clipboard. So what it is, is it's like a duotang.
Starting point is 00:00:50 It's hard. As clipboards have to be. Okay, clipboard on the front. You can clip your things that you need to do. And then it has a legal notepad and a pocket. so then in here is where i put my notes do you know i don't think i don't know the last time i used a notepad or a piece of paper in my whole life i you know what i've gone through so many phases where i'm like i'm gonna start either a journal or a to-do list like a physical one
Starting point is 00:01:13 because i feel like it does make you more aware of what you're doing but i can't do it i actually wish i had been journaling this whole time of my life the truth not boojoing like my workouts i I don't care what workouts I did in 2012. Or how many times you've had sex this month. Or how many times I've had sex. Not that, but, like, I wish I could get back into the head of myself when I was, like, in my 20s. Did you journal in your 20s? Like, full-on, like, journal entries?
Starting point is 00:01:43 No, I did it, like, a little in my teens. And then I was just so embarrassed. I was like, ugh, if anybody were to find this, never. Did you journal, right? Well, you have the live journal. Well, I used to, yeah, I used to live journal. Yeah, you guys would journal and put it on the internet. Yeah, for everybody.
Starting point is 00:01:57 did you ever personally journal so i used to write on my typewriter like a loser that's not loser i think that's beautiful and it's not that beautiful but it's like if you up you can't like really fix it so it was like i'd listen to mumford and sons and drink johnny walker black and write on my typewriter and cry about boys 22 okay i thought you were saying high school i'm like that's so intense if you think that's really i'm 16 johnny walker black i was 12 if you think what i put on the internet is emo you should see what's in my journal well we did my you're not matt nathanson my journal entry but when we were working on our book i went back through my journals to like look at everything and it is i'm it's the greatest joy of my life
Starting point is 00:02:45 is like the shit that i cared about like it's depressing it no it's not depressing it's like i weighed myself every day for like 10 years and when i would gain a pound it was like because i was on this weight watch when i was young like for dance and like it just with me and like to to watch my things like my psychosis about like i have to be this your neuroticism it was it's so crazy and i'm like if you think i'm crazy now i was so crazy and like the boys where i'm like i met this guy he's so nice he's a director he's gonna do big things i'm like what the big things we're 24 no one's doing anything no one's doing everybody is an intern everyone is doing nothing anyway okay wow all right when we come back i have a very very very special episode
Starting point is 00:03:35 of the lady gang quickie prepared for my favorite gals becca and jack the lady gang and we're back all right wait the funniest thing is you either hate us or you like love us too much like the other day all or nothing when we started a podcast you're just like i just like love you guys and i'm like why i know five minutes ago you hate i'm so neutral with you guys same peaks and valleys i'm just kidding i'm kidding i have surges of like oh my god i am so grateful and then i have surges of like i hate that bitch oh god i don't want to see them like when i responded to the text oh my god guys let me tell you something about kelty night yesterday i looked at it timestamp 10 a.m 10 a.m i'm driving that was actually really funny
Starting point is 00:04:29 I thought I was in the twilight zone. Okay. 10 a.m. I text Kelty and Jack and I was like asking them about something like we've like just something we needed to check off the lady gang to do list. Right. And I'm like, I'm in the area. I'm in the neighborhood.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Do I need to run in and do this? And I, it's, it has to do with spending money. So like we never spend money unless the three of us like kind of agree on it. Yeah. So I'm like, okay, Jack, right away. Yeah, sure. And I like give it a mount and then I'm like waiting and waiting and waiting. This was 10 a.m.
Starting point is 00:04:56 yesterday. well at 5 p.m today i get a sure from kelty and i just i'm like at a loss with what i'm supposed to write back and i just write i just send the emoji with the like crying okay so here a word to the wise if you skip over a text just just leave it i just i felt like i couldn't no it felt unfinished that was also don't answer it at 24 hours later like you're still in the conversation what's weirder is that i've sent way more important text messages to never get a response so like you are capable of just leaving it and i i remember it just happened i forgot what we were even talking about and i was in spain on a vacation i'm like okay i'm sending this text i
Starting point is 00:05:42 need to it's important it's kind of time whatever sensitive we just don't i'm like these bitches i'm on vacation working and they can't even respond and i know what time it is there oh wow so you can't leave things there we go i'm airing it out guys okay well um on that note um this episode of a quickie is called compliment circle not again no no no no no no no no no okay so what i have done is i have tried to turn our podcast into like a therapy no i'm not okay fine pitch your idea we don't have to accept it no you have to because what do you have ready a conversation okay having nothing to do with complimenting you what i was thinking okay so here's there's eight topics okay and what it is is like different things about us and then we vote on the things
Starting point is 00:06:30 about you so for instance example like best piece of advice from me and best piece i would say the best piece of advice i've gotten from becca and the best piece of advice i've gotten from jack and then you'll say specific than like i like your hair okay cool i like that okay all right so let's start with fashion okay okay so this is fashion stealing things i ripped off the girls so what i think i wear very well and then what i have stolen from you and you and then you say the thing about you like what is great about my fashion is this and what i've stolen from kelty is nothing and what i've stolen from jack is crop tops or whatever you're gonna say okay cool you want to kick it off I'll start it, yes.
Starting point is 00:07:09 This is hard. Okay. My fashion, I think that in my daily life I suck, but I can really do a red carpet. I can rent a dress and have a sparkly heel and, like, a special makeup like it's nobody's business. I really am good at a red carpet. You are great at red carpet. Every day, it's no thank you. Becca.
Starting point is 00:07:33 Becca has inspired my fashion to buy only real jewelry. Thank God. and i no longer go and get well yes i still do but i have a good jewelry collection begun because working with becca i was like i want a beautiful jewelry like becca and when they come to kick the canadians out of this country i'll take my jewelry and go shove it in your vagina and flee the country yeah yeah and that's valuable yep okay and and jack what i've stolen from you is nothing adventures bathing suits oh yeah because i've watched you even though you you have a special body that looks good and everything but you you just wear a bathing suit you're like whatever
Starting point is 00:08:13 like it's whatever she's very european about it you're just like my butt's out my tits are out or like they're not like sexy because they don't give and like not that you have anything to give a fuck about no but you have an amazing body but you're also not a supermodel so it's like i just like how you just embrace that and you're like so i thought i was you're like gg hadid okay anyway all right becca now it's your turn i mean you've had time to prepare i'll go because i kind of because that kind of bounces off so i think what i what is it i like about my fashion this is so stupid no it's not um no kind of bouncing off of that is for honestly for the first like 27 years of my life i hated my body and i always hid underneath like baggy clothes
Starting point is 00:08:59 so the past couple years of my life is like the first time i've ever like actually embraced my body and liked it and even though i do have cellulite or whatever i just i rock it yeah i'm proud of myself for doing that what i've stolen from you guys i've actually noticed that when we started the lady gang my fashion sucked and i i hated it like looking back on it and i feel like i've just dressed better in general being around you two because you both have like I don't feel like your fashion sucked. Oh, I don't feel like it sucked at all. Oh, I do.
Starting point is 00:09:30 Like, what, did, like, your, like, everyday dressing, or? Just, like, looking back at pictures of me, but maybe that's just because time is changing. That's just how everyone feels. That's just time. I don't know. But, I guess, like, specifically, I've stolen Becca's haircut, and then. I didn't know that until now, so that's awkward. Well, it's, like, the same.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Well, I've, like, chopped off half of my hair. Yeah. Yeah, maybe that's something I've taken from both of you, is a shorter haircut. that's a real cop out answer because you said nice things about becca and nothing about me you have short hair too and she said that her fashion's improved because you too oh you mean me too or you i do mean you too thank you yeah you guys like set a good standard to be around we did teach you how to tv dress which is a whole different thing yes yeah and you guys have pushed me to wear clothes that i normally don't feel comfortable true yeah but you look
Starting point is 00:10:17 kill it yeah thank you yeah yeah okay chicness okay Rebecca I don't know I really this is hard what do you what do you like about your style you have great style I've always thought you had the best style thank you I mean I think that um well I'm short and it's challenging to find clothes that look good on me so for the most part I do sometimes I really suck at it but I think I've pretty much figured out how to dress and it's not like it's not like a normal dressing for a short person what you'd expect it's kind of like yeah out of the box yeah how to dress a troll and you do know how to elongate your body yeah yeah from with clothes if i choose to yeah yeah for sure um what i've
Starting point is 00:11:05 learned from you guys i've definitely learned from jack that sometimes it is okay to show my body and we're only getting older and fatter and lumpier and it's like now we're never so i recently in the last two months have purchased two dresses that are above my knee oh it's not which is a becca rule that is a rule i'm breaking my own broken but i was there's exceptions to the rules and i made exceptions i'll get into those later when nobody cares um kelty what have i gotten from you i think that you actually when i think about makeup i always think that you've been able to really narrow it down on what looks good on everyone and like you but like kelty definitely um i was always like the person who sat down in a chair like because
Starting point is 00:12:03 when you're an actor you have no say in how anyone does your makeup you just end up looking like garbage and you're like well this is it um but then i started for events and then for lady gang tv it's like i had to actually pay attention because sometimes you do look like shit yeah with the wrong makeup and i was like oh kelty has it figured out right i go to them and i'm like don't put black on my eyes yeah see i never knew that until recently yeah i was like more black and then i didn't realize you know what is soul crushing for me when i see a pretty girl and a lot of the times here's who can't pull off anything black on your eyes if you're like a fair girl who's blonde or like a light brown a black eyeliner is so aggressive and it takes away from
Starting point is 00:12:46 your entire face so like when i see like a fair-skinned blonde girl who's probably very pretty all i see is black eyeliner yeah and it's usually just not great it's not dark brown dark brown or like a or like just a shadow like a little sensible it's just such a weird thing okay now the next topic is talent people might not know do we have to say it about ourselves and then each other got it yeah okay so i'll i'll start because i know these because i just thought of them in the car okay i don't know okay talent people might not know i am fantastic fantastic period no i'm i'm pretty good at at like gardening oh like i can i just planted a green thumb oh shut up shut up is it not alive no yesterday okay kelty just gave herself so much
Starting point is 00:13:46 props the other day because she kept a snake plant alive but she doesn't realize how easy it is to keep a snake plant alive. That's not what I'm talking about. I planted a lilac bush in my backyard and it died. And I was like, we can't let this lilac bush die. And I went and I talked to that lilac bush and I was like, what do you need? Did you do egg?
Starting point is 00:14:06 I talked to it. No. And it was like, I am not getting enough sun here. And I was like, I hear you. So I transplanted the lilac tree into the front yard. I don't know if this is gardening. I fertilized it and watered it and now it is thriving. She's a plant intuitive.
Starting point is 00:14:21 yeah but okay that's it okay what people might not know about jack jack is a really really really great porn site sex worker jack's a really i think people know this but you're a really good writer thank you yeah i appreciate like you can write more than just a snappy saying on a t-shirt well thank you you need to name our book okay thanks i do have a name for the book oh good we all do we all do yes we do rebecca super hairy legs right now yeah i think that you could have been a lawyer that's like not a skill that's a talent i mean a talent that's a skill it's not a talent well you're you have a very good talent of being devil's advocate yeah like i think you could
Starting point is 00:15:12 like better than anybody that i know i was raised by lawyers yeah you have like a very clear line like you don't waddle you're not like um i don't know what we should do you're like yes or no like you your line is straight and i love that about you i have a bad knee-jerk reaction though i'm working your knee-jerk is always i hate it and then you'll come around but do you not think that's your gut that might be your gut or is that maybe everything just this is horrible i think it's just like no i don't maybe it is my gut but sometimes i come around i'm glad that i did so it's like a gut that you need to think about for like five minutes yeah it's like a it's like a highlight like a red flag where it's like you need to think about this
Starting point is 00:15:56 more yeah like i'm the person who has to like write an email if i'm fired up and not send it yeah yeah wait until the next day because usually it'll be like in a complete 180 yeah oh so does kelty well kelty sends it that's the difference i'll feel exactly the same way she'll feel the same way until i text her i'm like hey kel don't feel that way this is a little harsh maybe you shouldn't have sent that email yeah or say it like this i oopsies yeah i'm getting better you are getting better also i yeah five percent well we haven't as much stressful things going that's what i say our stress level for the lady has gone down a bit yeah we've been chill okay jack you're next oh god um the only talent that i can think of of myself that comes to mind is i know the nato
Starting point is 00:16:39 alphabet excuse me what's a nato alpha beta charlie delta echo fox golf hotel indigo i don't know i just taught it to myself recently recently yeah i've got a good skill to have just in case always wanted to know this because when i'm like on with the airlines and they're like what's your reservation number you're like ellison linda i know i'm so bad she's in goose and you feel like an idiot and then you're like x is in xylophone what is x x-ray x is x-ray i'm so dumb it's fun h is in harold i sound like a fucking idiot i need to know the zelnya phone k is in kelty ellison taking a long time to make this work oh my god okay that's cool um what do you think our secret talents are i don't know can you think of anything for either of us uh let me think
Starting point is 00:17:30 kelty's secret talent organizing that's not secret kelty oh it's a secret you're the one that did this people might not know i think from what we've heard is very good in bed according to herself according to herself she's the best she gives herself great reviews rave reviews five stars rave reviews uh not that great i'm really not i think i used to be better now i just don't try what do you guys want to hear the con that i pulled of a lifetime yeah like a sexual one oh wait i can't say this because it's never mind okay i'll save it i'll save it okay um jack's secret skill is that she i can do this that's stupid she's doing that stupid thing with her tongue can you do it no can you i didn't claim to i don't care okay i can touch my tongue
Starting point is 00:18:25 to my nose you have used that before i have yeah yeah that is a bummer um well no more secret that's for me well you are a beautiful drawer oh that's not that secret though i don't think it's widely known oh well thank you like i see now your face pictures that you made they're everywhere oh yeah with other people doing them yeah yeah bullshit okay we only have time for one more i'm gonna let it be yeah please becca's choice if i think of it i will okay it can be physical it can be um if you weren't what you are what you would be it could be makeup and treatment but we've already done that kind of or advice okay i'll do advice okay oh my god which one do you want That's great, Kelty.
Starting point is 00:19:12 Let's do advice. No, which one? No, do advice. Okay. Advice. The greatest advice that I have recently been told is someone was like, I can't wait to spill the tea. And then I read a meme on the internet that was like, my grandma used to say, but tea
Starting point is 00:19:28 stains. So be careful where you spill it. Ooh. Did the grandma say this after the inception of spilling the tea? Yeah. Okay. Like it was like. It wasn't like they took that from their grandma that said it like in 1920.
Starting point is 00:19:41 No, no, no, no, no, no, no. The woman was like, she was like, ooh, I want you to spill the tea. And the grandma was like, well, tea stains. So be careful when you spill it. That is smart. Okay. Greatest advice. Also, here's another thing I'm going to say on this topic.
Starting point is 00:19:58 I recently saw something on Instagram where someone did like a really nice, it was a nice caption. And they were like, this week I'm going to try to do three things. I'm going to try to, like, not eat fast food, not gossip, and not something else. And, like, everyone else is like, ooh, me too. And then I've been seeing, like, a lot of stuff about, like, gossip or talking about other people or whatever. And I'm like, here's the thing. Somewhere along the lines of my life of 33 years, I read somewhere that when women gossip, there is endorphins that are released because we get –
Starting point is 00:20:29 I farted. I'm sorry. Don't put it to us. Don't waft it our way. Waft it backwards. Tell me about the endorphins. And, like, and also I've been watching Southern Charm. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:43 And Naomi said something so insightful. She has this new grown-up boyfriend. His name is Matool, and he's a hot doctor. And she's like, you know, he's great. Because, like, she was with Craig, who was, like, kind of. Is Craig the pillow guy? Yes. He's hot, though.
Starting point is 00:20:59 He's hot, but he's kind of like a girl in the sense that he likes to gossip. Yeah. He's kind of whatever. but like matool is like very very grown up and she's like sometimes i just he's great and he's amazing most of the time but like sometimes i just want someone to talk shit with me yeah and it's like i feel the same way i don't think women should have to stop talking shit it's very as long as it's harmless like i love gossiping with my sister about what's happening in the family yeah our family our town i just like it's nice i love gossiping it's why reality tv does so well
Starting point is 00:21:31 Yeah, because it's like you want to be a voyeur and, like, get into the lives of other people. I don't want to just stir a pot, but, like, I don't want to be better like that. If that means being better, I don't want to be. On that note, this quickie's over. Okay. All right. Bye. No.
Starting point is 00:21:48 Gossip forever. Gossip forever. Forever. Spill the tea everywhere. Spill the tea everywhere, honey. Your sheets just became brown. Okay, all right. We weren't here for a long time.
