Starting point is 00:01:08 Here's Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek. Let's make this quick. Hello, hello, hello. Welcome to Lady Gang Quickie. I'm Becca here with Jack and Kelty. I just realized that it was such a bad decision to have white couches in this studio. We're hot messes. I've got some stains going on. But also, it's like, what's great about white
Starting point is 00:01:30 is that if you put enough light on it, it's like my face. I just stop having a nose. You know what I mean? Just blow it out. Just blow that shit out. Bye. See you.
Starting point is 00:01:38 See you never. Bye. You know what I wonder sometimes about this picture here? It's a painted, beautiful picture that someone made us from tour. They never signed the back, so I can't remember who gave it to us. if you are the person
Starting point is 00:01:49 please let us know because I love it it's so cute I love it what a time are we going to tour again yeah I think we should
Starting point is 00:01:56 I mean not the way we did it not a tour not a tour yeah we need live shows where should we go probably back to the places that we did the best let's have our girls
Starting point is 00:02:04 I mean New York crushes which thrills me because I love New York so much everywhere yeah I want to go I like miss it I miss seeing the Lady Gang yeah
Starting point is 00:02:14 okay so this episode of Lady Gang is called Girls Gone Mild which i saw online and really just wanted to use as a title of an episode because i think it's so funny girls and of course you used it inappropriately what do you mean like you're not using in the right context no and i actually shit i also have to say that i didn't i didn't use the pick me girl in the right context either oh yeah officially wait what's girls gone mild in
Starting point is 00:02:39 the other it's kind of like um girls gone mild like instead of a wild night out it's like i'm gonna be home doing a face mask yeah red light therapy I'm gonna give myself no I knew that your questions were just some random questions no no my question oh well here's my thought my questions for today's episode are things that you like used to hate and now that you're a mild lady you feel like this is what's right in your life okay so I'm using them to prep you for your mind it's a real reach but I'm gonna let you yeah all right and I'm a self-proclaimed use the wrong yeah the pick me girl was wrong but I still but is I respect it pick me girl is a very specific pick me girl is like I'm not like other girls like that's what a pick me girl is everybody
Starting point is 00:03:25 told me that a pick me girl is the girl that wants all the attention from guys so much so she's willing to make other women look bad in that in that pursuit I get I got that was the overwhelming response from the internet. So, well, I, I see a pick me girl is somebody that's like, I'm different. Like, it's like, I'm not like other girls. Like, look, this is what's like so cool about me. Like other girls aren't like that. Okay. That's sort of fits in the same category. Oh my God. Like I love playing video games. Like, yeah. Aren't I so cool. Cause I love like no other girls like video games, but me, like that's how I envision a pick me girl. yes okay so something crazy that you used to like that now that you're a girl gone mild
Starting point is 00:04:09 you cannot stand you're changing these questions now I know oh sorry something crazy like for me it's dancing at a club oh yeah I used to go and it was like first purse walking anyway walking to a club first purse purse first is a drag race thing anyway um used to go with your friends with your little coach baguette purse you'd put it you'd stand in a circle everyone put their purse in the middle so you could have both hands dancing dancing dancing dancing and I was like I'm up on the box I was giving these people the goods away for free like full-out dancing giving you in Vegas I've done it all around the world Nashville Vegas everywhere I could I went to the club and I danced I danced like my life depended on it I can barely dance
Starting point is 00:04:54 at a friend's wedding anymore I can't do it yeah no I get it too mild I was never a dancer at a club but I did go to clubs all the time which shocked me what did you do drink just sat I mean I'd like sit at the table and drink yeah and I guess I'd like kind of well I hate dancing so I'd kind of just maybe like go back and forth and then drink the bottle service wow bottle service bottle service vodka and cranberry juice vodka sodas I have had in my 20s I probably drank 4 000 vodka sodas nelly like five in a night now that's not that many i'd be dead oh i get a hang over from like one and a half cocktails i know me too um mine is i was more like i used to love the bachelor back in the day this was actually my answer for this question when it was a different
Starting point is 00:05:44 question oh okay originally so yeah the thing i used to really love i for the last probably 10 years because how many years has it been forever 20 25 seasons so probably 10 years I've just been off and I've tried I've tried to go back because who doesn't want another crappy reality show on their repertoire like I can't do it well that it was gonna be my answer because it's okay it can be your answer I still I still watch it it can be whatever you want it to be thank you no I still watch it even though it sucks but yeah whenever Elon left it just like went downhill but I'm still watching it. I'm still reading the subreddits. I know everything that's going on, but I don't enjoy it. Okay. So weird. I'm just doing it because it's like part of my life. I work in
Starting point is 00:06:28 entertainment. And if someone said to me, Hey, you can have a million dollars right now. If you tell me the name of the new bachelor, I would have nothing. And it's my job to know that. Yeah. That's how not on the radar it is. Yeah. Sorry. Bachelor should have let us have more bachelor contestants on the show. Remember when they were like, if you don't do a bachelor segment every week we can't allow you to have bachelor people on your show i was like it's the abc said that yeah like i went because i we used to get remember like we got colton right when we got all these people because i went through their public and then they're i think their team changed and they're like well can you send us examples it has to be a bachelor segments and i was like none of those
Starting point is 00:07:07 podcasts do well they're idiots because obviously a large majority of our listeners watch the bachelor right look at us that's all you would need to do look at us look at us obviously avi two-thirds of us good night joey you're not invited thanks for nothing okay what is something that everyone is obsessed with later that holds no appeal for you because you're mild gypsy rose oh what hurts you're over it you don't care i find it disturbing i find the the frenzy quite disturbing because here's a young girl who was young who had a horrific childhood right abnormal childhood the situation happens she goes to prison she does the time and she comes out and once again she's getting an abnormal experience yeah in the world and in life and with people
Starting point is 00:08:06 and the social media frenzy is it's I blame TikTok oh it's absolutely TikTok and it grosses me out so much well as somebody that has always loved her and has followed her story from the beginning like as a true crime fan obviously I was like yeah and I'm like she well number one I think she deserves whatever the fame is and whatever that is and however she's gonna like parlay that she deserves that because she can't just like get another job like she can't get a normal job she has this fame so like make your money girl make your book deal right the frenzy her no I know but the frenzy of people because I'm like you don't even none of these people have even heard of who she was until she like got released from jail there's like it's disgusting there's
Starting point is 00:08:53 middle schoolers who are calling her like my queen yeah and that's weird yeah no I agree with that It's very weird. Well, and then it makes it, like, it was weird because it was, like, a rise and fall already of, like, what was happening with her. And it's, like, just, like, let the girl live. Let her make her outfit of the day videos. Like, a normal, she just wants to be normal. Like, Amanda Knox actually did, like, what's happening with her is cool to watch because she got out and was pretty reclusive and was rehabilitating her life. and then she started to have really thoughtful interviews on podcasts like really in-depth
Starting point is 00:09:36 sides you never heard sides of her you'd never knew existed and and now she has her own podcast and and to me that feels like appropriate but with the TikTok era making everything so it's a meme it's meme-y and it's gross and it's like I just feel sad for her yeah what uh my answer for this is interesting because I'm sort of am one so maybe I hate myself but I don't we all I think that the world it's it's changing but the world is still sort of into like the 20 this is just because I'm old but like the 20 late 20 something hot girl influencer that's perfect perfect outfit perfect life pic perfect photos like who is it now Alex Earl I guess Alex Earl i like a little bit because she like talks about her acne because she's messy she's like messy
Starting point is 00:10:31 like she's still hot she's kind of disgusting yeah i'm talking more of like that like fashion like the fashion girl the fashion girl that's like i'm a paris fashion week is what i would a paris fashion how does anybody give a about that i i used to watch a lot of that because i aspired to be a chic person who was invited to the scaparelli show and like i do not care at all I have unfollowed them all. Yeah. I, you're so great at putting together outfits and I'm so proud of you,
Starting point is 00:11:00 but like even at award season, people I know, like everyone's been hiring a photographer to be with them, like while they get ready. And like, you know, I'm just like, I'm really not into it.
Starting point is 00:11:11 I'm showing you what Spanx I'm wearing under my dress. Cause I really want to give you away the secret, but like, I'm just over that perfection in general. Yeah. What polished anything polished. I'm over. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:22 I can't do it anymore. I'll still use the Paris filter. tiktok is doing so well right no and that's why yeah and our clips when we look horrible and say horrible things are doing really well yeah way better than us being all like beautiful what was ruined by it becoming popular answer but that's okay no you i thought you did no i thought gypsy rose was yours sorry no that was bad guys no mine's stupid mine's just um so stupid any sort of a blowout heatless curl curls everybody on tiktok is obsessed with curling their hair into like a Farrah Fawcett blowout he was the pioneer of that you were it's not for me I'm not a blowout
Starting point is 00:11:56 girl I will be back with my beachy waves when it comes back around this is how we become old this is how we age ourselves it's such and I catch myself literally you get stuck in the era that you were the hottest yeah and then you never like that is my my worst fear and I find myself doing it all the time yeah i'm like aging myself with my hair i'm like now it's like the lob which you of course pioneered again with the lob it's getting back in style i'm like don't do it jack don't do it jack it looks like shit on you but like it looks so good on everybody i know i know i know like keep your long stringy hair i think gen z thinks long hair is like choogy now like now you have to have short hair 100 hi i'm barbara aka your nursing educator on instagram i'm a registered
Starting point is 00:12:45 nurse and I create content to help nursing students feel ready to take on anything and everything that comes with the job and trust me, it's a lot. Starting point is 00:13:24 chilly commutes to freezing hospital hallways if you're in health care or love someone who is check out figs head to wherefigs.com and use code figs ca for 15 off your first order that's squarefigs.com, code FIGS, C-A. The Lady Gang. What was ruined by it becoming popular? Noah Kahan. Oh, no. The actor?
Starting point is 00:13:49 Isn't his name Kan? I don't know how to say it. He was my pandemic into real life obsession. Yeah. In actual plays of this year, outsourced, outpaced Matt Nathanson. Oh, really? he was my number two I listened to so much of him and then now he's nominated for a Grammy I'm happy
Starting point is 00:14:10 for you Noah he played SNL I'm happy for you but it's like the content has changed it's just so it's not desperate artist anymore that I could have it's now famous guy and I hate the famous guy okay okay he's just not for me Jack I did I said Coachella and that's only because I was recently looked good for you i was going back in um time and i was looking at all of the lineups from back in the day and it really peaked in 2005 it's been 20 years that it's gotten bad what peaked like well i mean the lineup was the best it was cold play nine inch nails headlining which is like two of my faves it'll never be like that again it was 2005 19 years ago yeah and it's just like i don't know who the anybody is any i don't have no idea i don't even know who some of the
Starting point is 00:14:57 headliners are are you gonna go no i'm not unless i'm getting paid whoa yeah um mine is menswear for women and blazers wow because i know i did it too much it was kind of your thing and then we all did it everybody it used to be like i had a signature aesthetic and it was a little androgynous it was a little menswear it was a little whatever and it used to be hard for me to find a great blazer but I liked that challenge you know I liked that you couldn't just walk into you know express and find well no express was like business where mostly but you know I like target even target and and listen I I like everybody to for them to dress the way that they want but it was hard for me to see it's still hard for me to see and you're not really responsible for this I don't want you
Starting point is 00:15:48 to take responsibility. But I just see outfits and I'm like, you know, 10 years ago, that was just me. I was the only girl who would wear a pant to a formal event. A hundred percent. A hundred percent. And it feels like bums me out a little bit, you know? So no, it's true. And once I got a hold of a vest pant combo, that one was hard. That was a real tough one for me. Yeah. Kelsey You wouldn't let it go. I mean, you wore one on Tamron Hall when you had your movie or your Disney show. And I was like, I love that look. And then I bought it in every color available and have continued to wear it as one of my favorite looks.
Starting point is 00:16:28 And it's very difficult because it's great. And I am sorry. No, it's like I cracked the code early. I know. You know. Trendsetter. What is something that you're getting worse at? Oh.
Starting point is 00:16:41 What was my thing? I had Jared help me answer. my brain has been motion finding words that was my finding words um i was like jared there's a few of these questions i can't find the answer of and i was like what's something i'm getting worse at and he said giving hand jobs and or blow jobs the frequency of them oh just the frequency oh my god that's funny not the quality quality the quantity of hand jobs and blow jobs yes this is what people have been talking about for centuries it's called marriage yeah i was like they're not going to get better the frequency is downhill baby to improve yeah um mine was
Starting point is 00:17:15 wow mine was seeing um my eyes are just bad like it hit me like a ton of bricks i'm wearing the thickest i'm almost at a 2.0 reading glass i don't know what that means it's not that bad well it's not that bad but like for someone who's never needed glasses it goes it starts at 0.25 and then one one two five one and now i'm like and now i'm like i don't want to look at my phone without a reading glass like just readings hard my mind so mild been getting bad after LASIK and now all I see on free my for you page is like LASIK nightmare stories about people that like I know but you got yours a long time ago it might be a time for a reason but now it lasts forever oh you mean you're scared for the touch okay yes Becca it's a finding words finding words
Starting point is 00:18:01 what is an expression you never want to hear again i'm in my blank era i am over i had that written down too but then i feel like i say it sometimes i hate it i hate it we're becoming dumber yeah is that it jack um i have something that like sometimes kalji says shocker how is your heart i hate it you hate it i hate it it's such a loaded question that like i hate i hate like even thinking about answering it's because you are a and this is honestly i'm gonna go to the mild here you are emotionally you have not opened your second coming of jack yet and so that this is to you publicly on the podcast yeah yes because because
Starting point is 00:19:05 it is it is a it is a it's a really deep therapy question because you go how's your spirit and then it opens people to be like because instead of being like how are you because i know you're gonna be like I'm fine and like you're not fine neither are you I'm never fine I literally would never claim to be I want to hear like it's something my friend John used to do to our friend group and I loved it I'm sorry no I'm not gonna stop but I get that you hate it no yeah I don't like it what's yours um what's the expression you never want to hear again I mean of course I didn't even think about it um oh i think mine is hey queen i feel like you say that of course i do i am sensitive against like people i don't know
Starting point is 00:19:58 using rupaul's drag race words without us first having a conversation i don't have a good answer for this okay i just think i understand where that was going it's too much energy to bring in the room hi how's your spirit it's more of my energy these years the whole like you know what yes bitch this represents something that i think people need to learn everybody needs to take note of how they enter a room energetically oh so i have the opposite problem where i can be like a storm cloud coming into a room. And then there's other people who good for you. You're always in a good mood and you have a lot of energy. It's too much for my space. It actually feels like I'm being accosted by someone's energy. So when you're going into work specifically,
Starting point is 00:20:53 I think it's really nice to feel the vibe first. Go in neutrally. Go in neutral. You know, See what you're going to get back. Don't think that your energy is going to elevate other people's to meet you there. It's only going to damper. It's going to. And can I tell you one more expression that I need to go? I need the, it's a DM expression or an email expression. Hey, would love to take you to coffee and pick your brain.
Starting point is 00:21:22 No one's asking to do that with me. There's literally nothing to pick in there. But I hate it. I would never send that.
