Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey guys, the following podcast is a Lady Gang Network and Podcast One production, which means it's going to be awesome. It's time for a quickie. Podcast One presents The Lady Gang, the Hollywood girl posse, with Lady Gang Quickie. Here's Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek. Let's make this quick. Hello, hello, hello, and welcome to The Lady Gang. I'm Becca Tobin here with Jack Vanek and Kelty Knight.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Do I sound like I have food in my mouth? Because I do. we are eating lunch we're on a break in between filming lady gang tv we have like 30 minutes so we're gonna go we're in the specialty podcast section of my closet quickie quickie it's a quickie quickie quickie quickie um we're here today to talk about people's choice we were not the people's choice we weren't the people's choice i don't even know why we're i mean i know why we were there but i was also kind of shocked that we were there what do you mean i mean i've never been to anything in my life so it was a new thing for me did you feel like
Starting point is 00:01:00 you deserve to be there or were you like why are we why did we come do you ever feel like you deserve to be anywhere no because i don't i don't even like i feel like everything i do i'm like what the what am i doing i don't know i kind of know that everything's fake and so it's like if you get the right people on your team you can really go anywhere that's actually we weren't the only people who totally were not famous that were walking that carpet that's true there were many people there was more i didn't know one person in front of us or behind us on that carpet i didn't know anybody but i don't know a lot of a-list celebrities so the ratio of famous to non-famous on that carpet was like two famous people rita ora and posh spice and then everybody else
Starting point is 00:01:41 so we got right in yeah i didn't get to see posh spice on the carpet in person did you I'll tell you, we were all together. No, but I knew she walked the carpet because I watched it on replay later to see if I could see us, you know? Like in the background of a catwalk. Do you want to talk about our outfits, Jack? We were in all matching pink. I had a maxi sparkly dress on.
Starting point is 00:02:04 A gown for your first baby. It was pretty gown-y. Did you feel like it was exactly what you thought it would be? The red carpet? Yeah, like when people were like, can I get girls, girls, can I get a picture over here? well i feel like my biggest fear was that nobody would know who we were they didn't oh so they just take pictures of you anyways yeah oh okay that's why you had the publicist walk ahead of us being like do you want the lady gang well people are taking pictures i mean like but they're just
Starting point is 00:02:30 doing it as a courtesy they didn't care there's two ways it goes either it's a courtesy and they know it's someone then they don't know so they'll like get with it later or they're like i should know though is that they see other people taking it they're like i should take a picture because everybody else is. There's a little bit of, like, if you dress the part, they'll take your picture. Right, right. You're walking the walk. Like, we clearly came dressed like we were somebodies, and yet... I still hesitated to lift their cameras when we got there.
Starting point is 00:02:52 I thought everybody was taking pictures. I think everyone was taking our picture. It was an apprehensive start. Definitely an apprehensive start. I wasn't really, like, looking at the energy of the cameras. I was just more so, like, wow, there are flashes being fired? I pick up on that shit. I think the only reason you feel that is that you've been on the carpet
Starting point is 00:03:07 with, like, actual stars. Yeah. Like, when Lady Gaga comes on, it's like a... It's like, shh. feeding frenzy you know what i mean yeah so you knew this was like a meat mid-tempo i thought it was gonna literally be one camera like of maybe e because they knew who we were so i was just shocked i was like oh people know amazing i was pleasantly surprised you were yeah did you love your look i loved my look i feel like our stylist natalie really has finally understood me i'm very difficult to dress it was really like is it a crop top is it a flared pant i'm very easy i'm very specific and i'm very easy to dress if you can just like get on board with what i like
Starting point is 00:03:47 and she definitely has yeah she's not fought you no i liked it so i liked my look i loved your suit now i want a suit but also did you notice how many people were wearing suits it's like why is becca always on trend like how do you do that i've been wearing suits forever though oh so like You're saying Victoria's Space coffee to you. I've always loved menswear. I've worn a blazer like 400 times to events. I love it. It's powerful.
Starting point is 00:04:14 It's sexy. And also, you don't have to suck in. That's what I love the most. I love not worrying about not eating the day before or the week before or whatever. Oh, my God. I can't even imagine. It is true. It's important.
Starting point is 00:04:25 We're shutting our faces right now. Yeah. I loved my look, too. I bought my knees out. Those saggy knees. I brought my saggy knees to the red carpet. I just realized, like, I always try way too hard. I'm best when I'm just my natural self.
Starting point is 00:04:42 I feel like your natural self is trying hard, though. Yeah. When do you not try too hard? Oh, nice. In a charming way. But, like, on Saturday night I had an event and I tried way too hard. And then on Sunday I was like, oh, let me, like, chill out. And I was just, like, my natural beauty.
Starting point is 00:04:57 No? You're really loving yourself now. Yeah. Like, I tried to do a look, but, like, I'm not Gigi Hadid. Like, I can't really do a look. No. I just have to be just kind of, like, my prettiest version of my ugly. I think what's good about us together, too, is if we just kind of do something similar, it ends up being a look.
Starting point is 00:05:14 And we don't have to try too hard as long as we, like, sort of match. And then it's just, like, a cohesive thing. My favorite part is when we got interviewed by all, like, platform people. Because I know if you have a platform, you're, like, important. And so we saw all of our friends from all the different e-shows. And then we did the Glam Bot. and it was a disaster fail i've never like god you know you see those on tv and you're like that is so cool looking at people like doing them no they should have looked at ours and been like you
Starting point is 00:05:45 should try again i know why did they only give us one shot and we saw people right before us doing a couple so they're like i'm done get out of here we have so many more important to do after 100 did you think the glam bot was going to be so fast can you explain jack how you do the glam bot So the Glam Bot is this like swingy camera and they tell you to make a super fast movement because it's going to be in like ultimate slow-mo. So all of us were like, I guess we'll all flip our hair because we have nothing else to do. And you have to like squish together.
Starting point is 00:06:13 Yeah. So we all went to go flip our hair. And while I was flipping my hair, I ended up punching Becca in the face. And that left out. So she was mid face punch. And then when the Glam Bot like really slowed down, it was me like trying to apologize to back up with my 15 shins it was good and we nailed that really nailed it but why would the guy running the glam bot that looks good be like try a hair flip it looks really good like he led us way
Starting point is 00:06:41 astray yeah listen he didn't give one shit about our glam bot how it turned out no he had one job to get posh spice on the glam bot on the glam bot did she do it she did she just she did no I saw the backstage one yeah yeah they had the one where they're like in this weird diamond
Starting point is 00:07:01 yeah diamond VIP room yeah and like all the other people that were there were like dancing and shaking their hair and whatever
Starting point is 00:07:08 and Posh is just like literally like one foot out posing and then she's like oh let me move and she just like puts the other pose up she was like
Starting point is 00:07:15 I'm not gonna dance around like a monkey for you idiots we have like Jimmy Fallon literally like jumping off the walls like shaking his ass around and she's just standing
Starting point is 00:07:24 there like a statue she's like no thank you I'm fine this is what I this is who I am now she's like I want to be her I think it's who she's always been
Starting point is 00:07:30 a little bit has she ever moved in her life she just stands there she wasn't even that much of a dancer she looked insane yeah I kind of like her
Starting point is 00:07:37 I love it I was never a Posh Spice fan she was never my Spice girl you know I always loved her you did of course you weren't a baby
Starting point is 00:07:44 you were a Posh I mean when I was forced to dress up as them I was a baby but I loved the Posh but then on Glee I was Ginger I was a Ginger
Starting point is 00:07:53 when I dyed my hair red for a while I have some pretty good pictures of Mia's Ginger Spice. You do? It's like a professional Glee costume. Pull it out. Let me pull it out, guys. Pull it out.
Starting point is 00:08:03 So then we went in after, like, all of our photos, and we did lots of interviews, and the most question we get the most is, like, how did you guys come together? We're like, if you don't know now, you don't know. That's it. Yeah. And then we walked in, and we got our tickets, and they had dinner tables. Listen, I thought we were literally going to be sitting, like, up in the bleachers. Me too.
Starting point is 00:08:26 At the very... Oh, you were at the Ginger Spice. You almost look like Christina Aguilera. A little bit. It's like a mix between Dirty Christina and Xplora. Xplora? Xplora? No, I thought we were going to be sitting, like, in the bleachers.
Starting point is 00:08:38 Me too. Because we didn't know we had tickets until, like, three days before. Yeah. So, I thought they were going to be bad. We were sitting right next to all the Vanderpump Kids. And behind Kris Jenner. And behind the Kardashians. We didn't have a bad seat, I have to say.
Starting point is 00:08:50 That's great. Yeah. we did have a good seat unfortunately becca and jack would not allow me to approach the kardashians thank god or christina we saw so many people embarrassing themselves it was embarrassing and it did really embarrass it was kind of embarrassing like i saw people go up and be like oh you remember me and i was like oh that's what i do like yeah but like the only person who could pull it off was tanya rad did she go up to them she went up to them because like she's like legit knows who tanya is and tanya's like the sweetest human on the planet did she know who
Starting point is 00:09:20 she was? Yeah, well, because obviously Ryan Seacrest. Because Ryan produces productions. No, I know, but like, that's like six degrees of separation. No, it's one degree of separation. That's one. It's Ryan's job every day is to talk to Tanya.
Starting point is 00:09:36 Right. That's true. Okay. It's not like the girl who ran up from another country and was like, we met like nine years ago in Romania. Yeah. Or us being like, we were sitting at a table with Tanya who works for Ryan Seacrest. But you might know, like, that's six figures away.
Starting point is 00:09:52 Kardashians definitely, and Kelty mentioned this at the awards, they 100% have something that they do, like a signal, where they, like, touch their nose or they do something to get their security guards over. To get those people away. The security guards give anybody a moment that goes up and approaches, but it's, like, very, very clear when Chris is done. And suddenly they swoop in and they're like, so that Chris doesn't have to be the asshole. And it's so seamless, and it's not rude, and it kind of is just like, okay, that's enough,
Starting point is 00:10:22 and we're going to just escort you out of the way. Nobody even knows it's happening, and the people that are there probably don't even know what happened. They're just like there. You just got Kardashian'd. Yeah. You got Kardashian'd, and you didn't even know. I bet.
Starting point is 00:10:33 I want to find out what that signal is. I know. What is it? It's like, because remember Celine Dion used to, like, grab her ear? Mm-hmm. Like, everyone, should we have a signal? I mean, when we get so famous. You need a signal for, like, when you want someone to touch you.
Starting point is 00:10:44 you're like which is come over here chasing them is your signal come on down that was good and then we sat behind beside the vanderpump rules people and the best part for me the highlight of the night was when chrissy teigen got off stage and then she like looked and like the table of vanderpump was there and she goes i'm not worthy and then she wanted a picture with every single cast member of vanderpump it's true also when james kennedy from vanderpump came up to us yes telling us how good our show was i'm like i love him too i mean we love all the vanderpump people i like anybody who isn't too cool to come over and say something absolutely but then that's such so hypocritical because then should i go say hi to the kardashians no because you're not
Starting point is 00:11:24 kardashians don't care that's a different level okay no but here's the thing like vanderpump has been around for eight years and for one of them to come up to us newbies like they're more well known than us like that's cool to come up to a show that's small there's like people on e that we see all the time who still haven't acknowledged our existence yeah you know what i mean like it's cool for somebody who doesn't even necessarily need to know yeah like it's it's nice yeah the compliment is very appreciated the lady gang so then we had um a delicious meal of cookies nuts and chips and miniature tacos tiny little tacos five cake balls uh-huh they would i will say those awards breezed by what's so fast so fast they did a really good job they did a
Starting point is 00:12:12 great job and john legends performed oh my god i never okay i'm sorry i've never really listened to his music before he's the most incredible singer so amazing i have ever seen in my entire life he's amazing you understand now like why christie's like lost sex with him i mean i would understand anyways because he's hot no he's kind of a nerd but i think he's a hot like he's a hot I'm not a talented nerd. His talent makes him way hotter. He's insane. It was unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:12:38 Really. Then we danced a little bit. Then me and Tanya looked at each other. Don't say we. Yeah, no. Let's talk about the fact that, I mean, I'm not a dancer. I also don't really get excited about anything in life. You get excited about literally everything.
Starting point is 00:12:52 Yeah. So you were, like, up and grinding to Rita Ora, and then Tanya went and danced with you, and then people saw that on TV and thought that I was dancing with you because she's my twin. yeah so i got credit for something i didn't do which was amazing well tanya i felt like listen she's she comes across as a nice girl and she is a nice girl she's she's an undercover camera whore like me like i looked at her and i was like you want to dance and she's like yes no you're wrong she wanted to get on camera no you're wrong have you not watched her insta stories at concerts
Starting point is 00:13:25 she cannot contain herself no hers isn't a camera whore she's just so excited about every contain herself she literally sings full voice to every charlie pooh song at his shows and she's been to like no not even at his shows she sings full voice to listen to charlie pooh while she doesn't run and like she i think is somebody who literally can't contain her excitement over music yeah she's the biggest fan of everything yeah she's like doing i'm like god that's somebody who actually is doing what they should be doing for a living she loves her job she like loves it lives and breathes do you love your job jack not as much as tanya does no i never will no i don't I'll never love anything as much as Tanya loves anything.
Starting point is 00:14:02 So then, not to, like, wrap it up, but we went, we lost. Then we went to the after party. And then, Becca, what happened when that guy was checking you out? He wasn't checking me out. He was checking us out collectively. Oh. I thought he was checking you out. Are you saying he is or no?
Starting point is 00:14:18 No. I mean, he is. It's a well-known somebody. Like, well-known is Pushy. Well, I didn't know who he was. He's on a TV show that a lot of people watch. Yeah. He's in his 20s.
Starting point is 00:14:28 and he so there's this room with all the snacks and treats and food at the after party and then there's the bar and we're standing in the bar area and he's in the snack room but there's a big glass window like separating the two yeah so he walks by us and he's with his friends and he's kind of like letting them lead him out of the room and he's looking at us and looking at us and looking at us and suddenly he runs into a wall yes i don't know if he was like should those people be here who are they why are they here or are they so hot and sexual that i can't help myself but check them out so hot and sexual it was great he ran into a wall did you know you watched him run into the wall no oh he didn't see you no i thought you were making eye contact
Starting point is 00:15:10 with him so he's kind of like looking looking looking and gets kind of like past us hits the wall and okay wait is he good looking i don't even know who it was yeah he's good looking is he single uh i don't know and you shouldn't care no he's not is he's young for me somebody on like a teeny bopper tv show is not your jam oh never mind yeah only in a teeny bopper band not that either no what unless it's sean mendez oh i love sean mendez he's so hot so hot um last thing do you have final words about losing closing words i feel like it was very on brand i'm glad it happened i want to think should we do an acceptance yeah if we had one if i had an acceptance speech it would go something like this yes there's nothing worse than the acceptance speeches that were clearly
Starting point is 00:15:55 like practiced in the car oh my god i have like these metaphors i just don't know what to say but when i was a young girl it all started when i was three years old super anne hathaway of them i'm like so nobody cares nobody cares here's mine i haven't rehearsed it so don't get mad okay oh my gosh i'm so overwhelmed um i'd like to thank every casting director in los angeles who has not cast me in any tv shows as an actress over the last three years because it gave me the opportunity to start a podcast that's great um that's it okay what's yours jack thank you for sending the message that i have a face for podcasting message received okay mine will be mine will be like i first want to thank becca and jack oh god for being such good friends and it all started
Starting point is 00:16:53 when i was three years old and i want to say oh my god i want to say even though the rain clouds sometimes thunder and lightning but they also make the plants grow that's that's it whatever i want to thank my hot bod sticking with me into my into my 30s i want to thank my knees i want to thank my knees i want to thank my hot knees i think your legs are getting better with age thank you here's the thing out of all things to make fun of you your knees are just not the one no i want to thank my hot knees for stand taut can i talk about the fact that last night kelty was saying how you know what my face just like my skin's too perfect like maybe i could use a wrinkle or two thank you my neck is super wrinkly but it's my face i've used retinol and
Starting point is 00:17:48 now i'm like too poreless or could it have been the accutane cycle that you had and now your bones are dust dusty bones wait are you gonna do your it's no i don't have one i'm like thanks bitches dusty bones get my dusty bones i kind of want to have like a button or like a like an alarm you know like we can push it when we're being unrelatable like kelsey being like my skin is too perfect i couldn't use a wrinkler too oh my god unrelatable i is who i is okay on that note thanks for joining us on this quickie and thanks for listening because we are losers we weren't sure to ruin our brand after we lost the people's choice award but there's always next year there's like literally no other awards we could possibly win i was just thinking this is
Starting point is 00:18:36 the only award this was it we blew it and it's fine and also we'll see you on sunday at 10 30 for a new lady gang are you guys gonna like wrap it up we weren't here for a long time but we are We're here for a solid time. A good time, Jack. It's a good time. Three, two. We're not here for a long time, but we're here for a good time. Becca barely said that.
