knight becca tobin and jack vanik let's make this quick

scoop. He's also just launched his own at-home skincare line, Dr. Diamond's Medicine, which will

so stay tuned. But he's basically bottling that A-list Hollywood glow for everyone so they can do
it at home. Please welcome the one and only Dr. Jason Diamond. Wow. Thank you. Welcome back to
Lady Gang. So you were on Lady Gang in 2017 when we did, I want to give everyone at home because
we have new listeners, a little backstory. So if you have not read my viral glamour article
from this past week, basically I went in, I had a waddle. I did what a lot of people do in America,
which is they go and they go to a MediSpa
and someone says, for 800 bucks, I can fix your waddle
and you get Kybella or CoolSculpting.
And then the worst thing happens.
The best thing is just you wasted your money.
The worst thing that is what happened to me
is you disfigure your face.
I met Dr. Diamond when we had our e-show in 2017.
He said to me, you have ruined your face.
I can fix this.
It's gonna be a temporary fix.
You're going to need a facelift.
And about a year and a half ago,
we did that full facelift.
We've just recently, I was never gonna tell anyone,
I paid full price for it.
I wasn't like doing some backdoor deal
with Dr. Diamond to get publicity,
but then I accidentally got a little drunk on Housewives,
told Dorit I had had a facelift.
Now it's everywhere.
And so we wanna talk about it
because so many people have hit me up, Dr. Diamond.
What is different about your facelift
than everybody else's in the world?
And why do I look so good?
That's a tough question to answer.
What I'll say is that I take every individual person
and deal with them as their own problem.
whatever the problems that person has we have to solve those issues and everyone's problems are
different and there are a million different facelift techniques out there you hear all
these different terms of these viral terms of facelift style over 25 years i've done every
single facelift technique there is i often learn those techniques from the people who created them
and just over the years i've kind of honed my own techniques to match whatever it is i need to do
for each individual person.
So your facelift was different
than somebody else's who you might know.
You know, Tracy Tudor, she was public too.
He's like, I got to be careful who I tell you
because he's doing everybody.
But unless people, you don't have to say,
you know what I mean?
Like you don't have to get a Dr. Diamond facelift
and then tell the world.
A lot of people are doing this in secret.
Right, right.
As a matter of fact, most people never say a thing.
And you know, you'll see 20 people on TV tonight
who we've done and we'll never talk about it, right?
But those people that do, look, I really,
it's great for the public to understand,
you know what's possible out there so i think it's awesome that you know people like you have
have disclosed it and and then people can realize like you know i can i can address my insecurities
in a nice natural beautiful safe way but the point is yeah you and tracy have completely
different style facelifts right and because you had different issues and yours was caused by fat
melting that you didn't need right you've melted fat that'd be like a thin person having liposuction
You're just going to create damaged, thin skin.
That's all you're going to create.
Oops.
I want to do a little headline.
I want to do a little headline busting right now, because if you know Kelty Knight, you
know that I'm going to over-exaggerate everything.
So, of course, I'm doing the interview with Glamour and I'm like yapping to Jessica Radloff.
And I was like, yeah.
And it was crazy, Jess.
He opened my face and there was so much damage.
It was nine hours.
And then Tammy texted me and she goes, girl, why are you scaring people off?
It was only seven.
But I want to just say, because I was shocked that post-treatment you were like, ooh, in there, there was a bunch of old filler and a bunch of old damage from all of these MediSpot treatments. And people have really written me so many DMs since this article, Dr. Diamond. Can you talk about the fact that we think, oh, it's filler, it dissolves, and what is actually under a face when you kind of open it up?
Yeah. So there are a lot of, um, the, the, and I'm not throwing stones at the med spas and I'm
not throwing stones at the non-surgeons who inject. There are a lot of them out there who
can be actually really good. There are a lot of nurses who are talented. A lot of OBGYNs start
injecting and they can be talented injector. I'm not throwing stones at these people. They can do
a good job. It's just that, um, a lot of the things that are done in these situations actually
cause damage that they're not aware of because they're not in there. They would never know.
But as a facelift specialist, I'm in there and I see what's going on. So I'm one of the first
people to see like, oh, that treatment that's out there going viral is causing problems because I'm
in the face six months after people had that treatment and I see it. So the point is a lot
of things that are done that are considered, oh, no problem. This is very safe. They actually cause
a lot of damage and a lot of problems and they, and they're not really helping. Oftentimes they're
not really helping people with their best anyway. So it's like, you know, it can be done. Those
injections, those meds patrons, they can be done safely. They can do a good job. People can be
happy with them, but oftentimes it can be counterproductive to what you're trying to do
too. So it's sort of like a, it's like a, it can be a very dicey situation many times.
And so can you explain like, so when you open, I mean, we can really talk here when you,
you don't have to be like, oh, and when I open a face, when you opened my face, you saw the damage
of what lasers, old filler threads, like what, what do you see that is a red flag for you?
Yeah. The most important thing on you was the skin was super thin because the fat layer had
been melted away. And, you know, I've been doing this a long time now. I think the most common
misconception that I hear from patients who come in over the years, the most common misconception
people say is, doc, I don't like my neck. I need the fat sucked out. Everyone thinks they, you know,
their loose neck is from fat when the reality is very few people that is the cause subcutaneous
fat, liposuctionable fat very rarely is the cause for somebody's neck waddle that they don't like
more often, most often it's due to muscle axis due to structure issues. Um, and so, so,
what you had fat melted with Kybella, sounds sexy, come in, quick little injection. The problem is
that Kybella, when it melted fat on you, that caused more damage than three neck surgeries
could have caused. It caused more scar tissue than if you had had your neck operated on three
times, literally, because it just causes an indiscriminate melting of fat. That fat layer
to the skin keeps it healthy. It's essential to the health and the beauty of your skin.
and when that fat is melted away then the skin just becomes thin and crepey and wrinkly that
was the number one thing that you had so no we had to go in and do a lot of things to make that
neck stick up and to improve that neck skin that and that required a significant surgical
manipulation this was not something minor you know and so that was number one then there was
a bunch of filler that was superficial um superficial filler can cause you know i i like
fillers deep i like when they're deep it's my facial sculpting techniques um i've done a million
facelifts not literally but i've done tons and tons of facelifts on people who have done facial
sculpting on and you never see that filler because it's deep it doesn't affect the facelift but when
fillers are superficial uh right under the skin layer yeah it can cause like a gluey situation
you want that tissue to be pristine and to move very easily and that filler can kind of it's
almost like glue all over the place it's just it's just hard to work with and it makes things
more difficult we see it all the time i it's it's rare i see a facelift now that doesn't have that
but it just complicates the facelift it makes it less a little less seamless and so you had that
and then the threads cause scar tissue throughout the muscle layer um and we rely on that muscle
layer to keep things tight and to really do the lifting it's it's based on the muscle there
and the threads cause scar tissue and that oftentimes tears in the muscle there and those
threads really aren't doing much good for most people. So you had all that going on.
But I do want to say that, again, because I over exaggerate everything in my glamour article,
of course, I'm like, and because I did all the fillers and the lasers and whatever,
there are things that you can get at your institute that are lasers. I've been in
microneedling. So what is like your Dr. Diamond three approved? I would call them like MediSpa,
like, listen, not everyone can come to Hollywood and get a hundred six figure, uh, you know,
facelift from Dr. Diamond. They want to go to their place in Ohio or their place in Canada and
get a laser. I've had my mom do lasers in Canada that have done great. So what are your top three
that you say? Okay. These are okay. That's a great question. I like that question a lot. Wow.
Okay. I would say number one, one of the most common non-surgical procedure I do,
we call it diamond facial sculpting. It's my injection technique that's deep and it is not
in the central oval. The central oval is this part of your face. This is like an oval. It's
not in those areas. That's an area to stay away from. Okay. That never, ever looks good. Never.
That rarely, rarely looks good. And probably one of the most common things that I see people come
in with work, things just don't look good where they're getting this part of their face injected.
The injection should be out on the point. He's pointed to like kind of your T-zone,
your eyes, nose, mouth. He wants you to go around the outside of the face.
The outside of the face. Right. That's where injections work the best. And it's essential
for them to be deep, to be deep under the muscles, under the skin, under the fat. Okay. And so
essentially on the bone or very close to it. So to me, that's completely safe. I've done
many, many faces on people that we had done facial sculpting on until a point where it doesn't really
work as well anymore right we go and do their faces you never even see it you would never know
they had anything done and i see you know and so that that's a safe and approved procedure in my
in my mind lasered they're a hundred which one do we go bbl aaa fee fee fee the most common so one
of the most common skin treatments we do we call the insta facial the insta facial is a combination
procedure that involves any combination of lasers i'll get back to the actual specific ones
But it also allows taking your blood. We turn that into PRP and PRF. That's your own, you know, your own growth factors, your own peptides, your own platelets, that type of thing. It's all the nutrient rich, rich, restorative parts of the blood. Well, I'll inject that into the skin. I'll lay that on the skin. We do a gentle microneedling. Okay. So the lasers are not fat melting lasers. These are superficial lasers that aren't going to cause any deep scar tissue, any deep inflammation, any thinning to the skin.
And so that combination, actually, we use oftentimes for people in preparation for surgery because it improves their skin quality, makes the skin better.
People have had their skin thinned by fat melting procedures and other things.
We'll often do that to maximize their skin before surgeries.
So that's completely approved.
That's not going to hurt anything.
And it will only make, likely make the surgeries more seamless.
But what laser?
Like, what are we?
The laser depends on the person.
It depends on the person and what we're trying to do.
oftentimes i'll use like an ipl type thing for browns and red spots oftentimes for fine lines
and pores we'll use like a clear and brilliant or a light a light radio frequency type treatment
depending on the person but everything is is light and judicious and and measured in that
what do you think of like the you know the amount of people that wrote my dms and said yeah i'm
ready because the morpheus or my skin type there we went through a couple years now where everyone
is paying like eight or nine thousand dollars to go for a skin tightening laser i also tried this
everyone i didn't see the result like i just wish i had saved that 10 grand and put it in my
facelift fund but what are your thoughts on a skin tightening facial yeah so the skin tightening
lasers have been like you know they've been um sort of mainstream i'd say since probably like
2005 when thermage first came out i think it was thermage with the first popular one and then
time passed and then people are like okay it's not worried as well and then came out old therapy
and that kind of took the place of thermage and all therapy kind of went out of favor because a
lot of people were thinking they were getting damaged from the melting of the fat from that
indiscriminate heating of that deep fat layers then that went out of favor and it became morpheus
and then morpheus uh was very popular for a long period of time and then people were like well i'm
seeing some damage from that too when it's done too aggressively and now the latest and greatest
version in most people's minds is what we call softwave and i like softwave but again any tool
can be dangerous if it's not done with great care and conscientiousness and attention to exactly
what you're trying to do softwave can go too deep too and can melt fat but it's but it's designed
so that it doesn't do that if it's done with the right settings and the right attention to detail
and so that can be done safely i do like the results um it's not a facelift result but for
those people who can't do a facelift now and they've got to look their best for a wedding
coming up in two months or accept an award in six weeks. Yeah, software can give you a little
nice tightening that a lot of people like, and it can be done safely, but it can also be done
to aggressively causing issues. So nothing is completely safe independent of the operator.
The operator's got to know what they're doing as well. The Lady Gang. Okay, Dr. Diamond, because
i'm the people's princess uh the people's podcast i'm going to give you a situation because there
are a lot like there's real self and new beauty and i think they do a great job of going out in
the world and aggregating like the top facelift artists and because this is such a secret society
in many ways i mean there are so few doctors i think it's becoming more in fashion too we saw
chris jenner talk about her doctor we talked about tracy and i you know talking about you like i do
think more people are opening up about it, but if there aren't those people opening up in your
community, it is very difficult to find the person who should do your facelift that is your person.
And I hate to be the wearer of bad news, but the research we are truly doing is Instagram.
So what I went on is I went on Instagram and I looked at all like facelift plastic surgery.
And I just, I don't even know if you can answer this question, but what on earth can a gal in
in Arizona, Toronto, like if, if she's looking up, okay, I want to get a facelift, but I'm going to
have to do this in my hometown. I saw like, I saw this facelift. I don't want to throw anyone under
the bus, but I saw this photo of like a woman and she's getting a facelift and a lot of like the
Tijuana and like the Turkey facelifts. We see these photos and I'll post these on our Instagram
guys of like the stitches going all the way to the eyebrow and the whole, like these big stitches.
Is that a red flag? Yeah. Is that a red flag like that? It looks that my facelift looked nothing like that. My facelift was, you know, in within seven days, you really couldn't even see it was like red as if I had the where the scars were. It was red like I had got my cat scratched me with a paw like it was so couture and like fine. Is that what we should look? I don't know.
tell us what to look for. Yeah. Yeah. Look, it's, it is overwhelming. And look, I, out of interest
recently, I started looking at facelift Instagram stuff just because it's, it's curious to me. I
just want to see. And, and as a top facelift expert, I'm confused by what I see. And I'm like,
I don't even know what I'm looking at half the time and what these people are talking about.
and no one knows more about it than me it's so confusing and overwhelming and you know people
are repackaging different techniques so the new endoscopic facelift i've started doing the
endoscopic facelift in 2002 and then i got away from it because it's not nearly as good as the
things i do now but people are talking about as though it's brand new people are talking about
all these facial techniques the deep plane facelift as though it's brand new the deep plane
facelift has been has been around for about 40 something years i started doing that in 2002
too. It's nothing new. Um, so it's really confusing. It's overwhelming. I don't really
have a good answer for you. I wish I did. I'd say a couple things. Number one, it's best to go to
someone who you've seen the results. You've got friends who went there, you know, people went
there, you've seen the results. Anybody can make anything look however they want on Instagram.
Okay. And I've seen things that I know aren't real. I've seen, I've seen things that I know
are not real results. And this is coming from like the world, one of the world's leading experts.
They're not. So you're seeing a lot of things that aren't even real. And so I would go on word of mouth the best you can see people who've had the work done, make sure it suits your aesthetic. And then you hear all kinds of things like, oh, a facelift take an hour and a half. I'm just going to tell you like this may upset some other facelift surgeons out there, but I don't really care.
I've never, ever seen a good facelift take less than four hours. Never. And I learned from all
the top guys in the world. I've never seen a facelift take under four hours. So if you're
hearing about an hour long facelift, I'd run. I, you know, I may get some hate mail from guys
who go an hour. I've never seen one done, done well in under four hours. The way that my, and
I'm going to post this now, I haven't shared it yet, but I have all my recovery photos that I was
taking every day. The way that the stitching was around my ear, the back of my head. I mean,
it was like finer than the stitching on a Chanel bag. I mean, that's how small the stitches were.
It was very, uh, very beautiful. Okay. I only have you for five more minutes. I have two more
questions before you go to surgery. I, first of all, I want to talk about the, uh, the, the
products because this is something that people can order and get at home and it's life-changing.
But first I need to ask you about the bad bleffs in Hollywood. I would not be E! News' Kelty Knight
If I didn't tell you and ask you, Dr. Diamond, what the hell?
They're ruining the men.
They're ruining the men.
Yeah, yeah.
Help us.
What's happening?
Yeah, it's a lot.
And I know what you're talking about pretty much.
It's a combination of things.
It's being too aggressive for sure.
We talked about misconceptions that I hear.
One of the other common misconceptions is, Doc, I want to be as conservative as possible.
So I don't want to do anything else other than take out eyelid skin.
I want to be as babysit as possible.
The reality is that's one of the most aggressive things you can do to change a face is removing
a lot of eyelid skin.
So, so it just is like an interesting note for your viewers and for you to know, if we
were going to talk about let's in, in, in a majority of cases, if somebody had an aging
upper third of their face, meaning this part, the most conservative thing you can do to
improve like the upper lid area is to actually lift the brow a little bit.
Not too much, just enough.
That's more conservative than a blepharoplasty
if you're just really trying to clean everything up.
The next most conservative answer
for somebody's upper third would be a brow lift
and an upper blepharoplasty at the same time
because you're doing a little of both.
That's the second most.
The most aggressive thing you can do
is just an upper blepharoplasty, so get that.
So a little brow lift,
a little conservative upper blepharoplasty
is more conservative and more unprotectable
than just an upper blepharoplasty.
And that's something that is, in my mind, a fact. In my mind, I'll debate anybody on that. I've seen it time and time again. So you're seeing very aggressive skin removal and that really can feminize a guy, can really make somebody look different. And so I think there's a lot of that going on.
yeah, people like, oh, I'm just going to do the eyes. And I was like, no, no, you kind of need to
like give the whole, this is very interesting. And I feel like men, like even I had a friend
recently, um, uh, and they were coming to get a, you know, bluff and whatever. And I was like,
no, don't do it because now I'm scared of it because it looks insane. But I think done
correctly, you're saying this is a great surgery. It's just, yeah, you got to maybe do it with
something else. Like go do the eyebrows and the little bit of lid, you know? Right. This way
you're doing a little of each rather than one big amount of one. Yeah. Okay. Let's talk about
the medicine. So a few years ago I was in your office and Tammy, your right hand was like,
we're making products. And I was like, thank baby Jesus. The plasma I think was the first
and that was life changing. And now you can see it behind Dr. Diamond. Um, and lucky for you
listeners, we are actually doing a giveaway of the entire suite of Dr. Diamond's products. This
is probably what worth $2,500. Like, I mean, it is, it's, it's fancy, but it really works. The
retinol is insane. Um, and so we're doing that on our Instagram right now. So if you're listening,
go on over to the Instagram, you'll see how to enter, but tell me about the products,
why this was important to you. And you know, if someone can go today and buy one thing,
what should they get? Yeah. So we developed this based on years of my understanding of how the
bioregenerative treatments work. So I started my career 25 years ago doing surgeries and my
facelifts, one of the things I always incorporated was skin. I always incorporate dealing with the
skin. And we oftentimes use what we call nanofat, somebody's own stem cell. We liposuction a little
fat out. We filter that in such a way where we convert it to what's called nanofat. It's like
your own adipose, your own fat-derived stem cells. And we use that on the skin. Well, it was a big
part a big component of what made my face of results stand out amongst other things but it
was a big part of it and so for years and years i was doing that and then it dawned upon me one
day like a ton of bricks like i don't need to just put people to sleep to this i can i figured out i
know enough about how to do this in the office and so we turned we converted the surgical uh
techniques into office procedures which became known as the insta facial and that became very
popular and is still a very popular thing worldwide. And based on any facial still
incorporates a bioregenerative component where we're using something from your own body or
something similar to stimulate your own body to recover and repair itself, which works better than
anything else. You know, I know about the facial because I had one four days before my book cover
and the only thing we airbrushed was one zit off my cheek. There you go. Look at that. Pretty much
Watch my skin, guys.
Wow, I'm so hot.
So we've been doing the InstaFacial for like 15 years now.
And then again, just like I had that epiphany about bringing it into the office, I was like,
I know enough about how to do this to be able to put it on a shelf, put it in a bottle that's
effective that people can get when they can't come to see me.
And so that's why we developed this.
And it's based on, again, biomimicry, bioregenerative components, your body healing itself.
It's based on growth factors.
It's based on bioidentical peptides and growth factors and molecules, which means they are identical to what's in the human body.
A lot of things out there come from plants or animals, and it's not 100% identical, human identical.
And so these are human identical.
They're bioengineered.
They're made to be exactly identical to the human molecules.
And that's my strong philosophy, my strong principle.
To me, that works the best.
And the results speak for themselves.
I mean, honestly, I see people all day long from all over the world who say the same thing that you're saying about it.
Like, I can't believe it.
I found out something that works.
I don't need it.
I've thrown everything else out.
And it's just I couldn't be more proud of it.
It's insane.
And I will say this.
Like, we have Skin School, which is a website that a lot of girls go to.
the thing about this is like ladies if you are of the lady gang age there's there's like a point
where you kind of have to like leave the drugstore behind in some ways and get some products that
actually have some stuff in it like some good stuff um and you know we've been sold like through
marketing like oh get the lemare and i'm like babe that's like nivia like there's nothing in it
there is no active like stuff in there and it is you know more expensive than your product so we
need to be really smart and i would say to everyone if you want to like a dr diamond
in is like either the retinol or the plasma i think i mean look there's i love okay if we can
get one dr diamond i probably if i had to pick one if i had to use one i'd probably pick the
emulsion it's that yeah because that's like your laser in the bottle that's got your retinoid ester
it's got your antioxidants it's got your niacinamide it's got hyaluronic acids it's got
a lot of powerful things um and so if i had to pick one i would use that but it's like asking
to pick your favorite child like you love them all for different reasons well who's your favorite
member of the lady gang that's my last question without saying come on yeah obviously um listen
i'm very excited to have dr diamond he needs to go make hollywood beautiful now but i do want to
announce that we are like i said doing the giveaway of the full suite of dr diamond's medicine
products and in addition to that you will get a signed advanced reading copy of my new book the
them theory and that features dr diamond in chapter seven hating your appearance because
we have to take the stigma and the guilt around just wanting to feel good and going and getting
the goddamn facelift i love you dr diamond i'll see you in this i'll see you in the uh the studio
soon because we have an e-photo shoot coming up i'm coming in for my insta facial but i look
amazing dr diamond's the bomb go fix some hollywood faces and we will weren't here for a long time but
us here for a beautiful time. Thank you. Thank you so much. Lady Gang is hosted and produced
