Hey guys, the following podcast is a Lady Gang Network and Podcast One production, which
means it's going to be awesome.
Hi, I'm Barbara, aka your nursing educator on Instagram.
I'm a registered nurse and I create content to help nursing students feel ready to take
on anything and everything that comes with the job.
And trust me, it's a lot.
Here's one of my favorite and simplest pro tips.
Upgrade your scrubs to figs.
Figs are designed for us.
They are super soft, lightweight, and breathable with four-way stretch to keep up with your every
move. Polished professional silhouettes? Check. Functional details and pockets in all the right
places? Check and check. No matter what your day has in store, Figs has layers to match. Their
underscrubs are perfect on their own or as a lightweight base layer to help keep you cool
and dry. And when the temperature drops, their outerwear styles are made for everything from
chilly commutes to freezing hospital hallways. If you're in healthcare or love someone who is,
check out figs head to wherefigs.com and use code figs ca for 15 off your first order that's
wherefigs.com code figs ca it's time for a quickie podcast one presents the lady gang the hollywood
girl posse with lady gang quickie here's kelty knight becca tobin and jack vanik let's make this
quick hello hello hello and welcome to lady gang quickie i am becca here with jack and kelty why
did i do it like that why press the button to record and i like threw it to you like like we're
on the whip no like like we are on gma and i was like three two and go like we're all just sitting
here you can see you can hear the beep i know we're live we know what started how are you guys
we're here you know what um oh god no i wanted to tell you oh no i i have been having to call me
your best friend again yes kelty's feeling emotional and she needs friendship so that's
she wanted us to record a podcast that's not true at all can you talk check check check okay i want
to make sure that i can hear you you're a little low oh there you go that's much nicer no i was
gonna say i i have a little conundrum because i we've had a lot going on like there's so much on
our plates that it's like almost it's too much and it's to the point where it's too much and
it wouldn't matter if we had more helpers it's like we can't make another jack and another
becca and another kelty it's more so another kelty okay yeah like most of this is falling
on your shoulders no it's we can't have another um episode of like when we were shooting lady gang
tv though what do you mean how like we lost completely lost control oh you know what i
You're talking about a podcast episode.
I was like, wait, like this idea.
No, no, no.
Yes, this is a thing.
So when I had my big meltdown and I was like, wow, like since then, I've tried to put some pieces into my life to like control that.
Right.
So like taking, sorry, taking like self-care and like making lists and like getting an assistant that can really help me out.
And, and, and also like just realizing like everything's going to happen in due time.
Like it's okay at the end of the night if I haven't crossed everything off the list.
Like there's time for everything and like it will all eventually happen and like let,
you know, but like there's just a weird thing.
Like I can get my inbox empty and I can get the to-do list and be like, okay, we're in
a good place.
And my brain is still on fire.
Like I still can't focus.
You'll never, I don't think you'll ever be in that place of calmness.
and even if you are i feel like you will create something to put as the next thing on your to-do
list and to be frank about the last couple weeks even if the inbox is empty we're not done dealing
with the shit yeah right it's lingering problems it's lingering problems but and yeah also i think
you have to just know that like the world keeps spinning even though you're not tackling
issues the issues yeah like your world should just be like you yourself and i yeah and everything
else external stuff yes we pay attention to it's important but like you gotta take you you have to
put your oxygen mask on it's true right you need to be able to wind down because it's really not
that deep and also like a lot of these things are time um sensitive sensitive however i don't think
that it would be the end of the world if say that you took like a breather like an hour breather
for yourself to like re like get your life yeah i feel like we could probably put some stuff in
motion for 2020 like not texting each other past a certain time at night oh not texting each other
it's not always me but yeah um and like also just really like work hours yeah we should have maybe
like some work hours unless it's an emergency because here's the problem it's like we're 24
7 24 7 but that's the problem with owning your own business is you are 24 7 but i like it's all
about boundaries and i like the boundary yeah because it's like well it's like norm our podcast
one says don't tell me any bad news after seven and i love that rule so then you're not freaking
out about something at night i love that so okay so if i went home and i had an idea or i was like
what are we going to do about this and it came to me you make a note in your phone make my note and
ask you in the morning i don't think that like i don't mind an email but i think like text messages
are more pressing i can't send you an email because you'll never respond yes i do literally
never yes i do no you don't it's lost in the void forever sometimes it gets lost in the void
all the time okay fine don't send an email just i'll just make a draft i'll send the owl from
harry potter that will just come and tweet at your window perfect be busy okay okay no i like
this 2020 i like this i've also had a theory on like our work uh the way we do things for a while
now and like we've never really changed anything but i think that having like a day where we're
actually together working and not just podcasting is valuable because we could get more done we
could get way more accomplished because what's happening is and this is the frustrating thing
for all of us. If you have downtime, it might not be my downtime. And then when I have the time
and I start shooting it off to you guys, then you guys are out doing your life because you're not
doing work. So it's like, we all sort of need to find the time to be working at the same time.
I like that. Cause then it's like, you're not feeling stressed out when like you're texting
about something yeah yeah i like that yeah boundaries so i like this okay 2020 maybe
2020 we have to have like office days yeah or office hours yeah i don't know no i'm into it
okay that wasn't at all what this show is about but when we come back we're going to talk about
our journey to being television stars excuse me the lady gang and we're back this is such a weird
topic what it's a great topic so what i thought for the next couple quickies in review of our
year because it is december that we would do one about like our book and how we willed it into the
world one about the tv show and how we willed it because we've never really told the story of when
we pitched it and all the like the pilot and everything we got then the lady gang tour which
is so exciting so today this one is going to be a little shorter because we already talked so much
do people care about this probably not i think they do because they do because i already produced
it because we don't have another option it's too late but feel free to talk about anything else
you don't have any more casual questions i have no more casual those are so fun okay you're a dick
you know what i'm a dick i said i spent all morning producing these shows do you have topics
to talk about our listeners to let us know if they care that much about our inner workings of
our business and our projects okay we can discuss them but i would like some feedback because i
don't think i care about anybody else's all right do you care i care enough constantly asking
i want to start a podcast i wish you would tell me how i want to start a clothing line how do you do
it okay first of all let me start with something that is open-ended did you feel cool when we were
on Kathleen Hoda. No, those experiences don't make me feel cool. Okay. It was so fast that I
don't even think I had a chance to feel cool. Yeah. We were in and out of there for literally
three minutes. So you didn't feel like you really appeared. I also just, I don't know if I'm jaded
or if I don't excite easily, but fuel your soul. Nothing. That stuff doesn't feel my soul. Me
either was there some something you wore on the show that you felt like you were the bomb diggity
at the time and even though it's only been a like a little less than a year you look back and you're
like why did i wear that oh you know i did look at our uh people's choice awards outfits i would
not wear that dress again you looked so good for me what's just not it's not like jack enough for
me it was like a modest jack but you're never gonna feel i've never ever ever walked away from
a red carpet being like that was it but you looked bomb no i still would never like i've never had
that moment of like this was the carpet like we're also not wearing like gucci suits well
yeah and also like it's just after a while it's just clothing and it's just and it's like how do
you embody it's like when girls freak out about their wedding dress you're like yes it does seem
like a super important day but like you're not gonna be able to i don't know the the dress is
never gonna be as good as you think it should be because it's a special event yeah i feel that i
mean kind of there's only one time that i ever walked away and i was like i'm the greatest i'll
ever be and it was the mecca like three years ago and i wore this black dress and my makeup was
perfect my skin was perfect i did have the broken arm the celestial one yeah yeah it was like i just
didn't even look like myself and that's probably why i thought i looked so good
i was like who is she she's gorgeous oh my god that was a beautiful dress what i'm what i miss
about doing the show is hanging out with clayton yeah and the mornings like i miss the mornings
not the mornings but like once we woke up and you had your coffee and your poop
like that was the funnest part is we were like all chatting in the makeup room like i think the
makeup rooms they've tried it on a million different shows to like film the makeup getting
ready like they've even tried it over here at et like because that's where the real conversations
happen but like then as soon as you put a camera in it everyone's like because we're just talking
shit the whole time it's true do they ever try dinner never they would never break the fourth
wall for glee like that um i just had dinner with my two makeup artists from glee actually
i hadn't seen them in five years oh cute it's crazy what they say but they're like your hair's
really grown in no my hair was okay at the time i mean i guess it was breaking from but she's
their makeup artist so they don't give a fuck about my hair um we didn't really talk about
you know me but like we just talked about missing each other and like you know those
are the best moments what are they working on now um one of them kelly mitchell she's always
been even before glee she's always been john krasinski's like personal oh so she's been
traveling the world with him doing jack ryan lucky yeah she's just he's so hot and he's so nice and
they're so in love yeah and he's such a good dad like oh he and she spills the tea like if someone's
a dick she isn't the first person to be like you know not necessarily talk shit but like you can
she won't rave about somebody yeah she doesn't like them um but she's been with him and she's
also someone that wouldn't stay with somebody that was bad right bad person and she's like no
She's been with him forever, forever and ever.
Since, like, The Office and, like, just since, like, Jim and Pam?
Well, definitely before Glee, she'd started working with him.
Was he on Glee?
No.
Oh, but before.
Probably.
When did The Office end?
They were going, I thought.
At the same time.
But she would have been, I think she did more of, like, his movies and stuff on the hiatus.
Because she couldn't do a series because she was always on Glee.
Do you think that if you're John Krasinski's makeup artist and John Krasinski has a nose hair that you tell him and pull it out?
She, it's very personal.
Yeah.
She would be like, Hey, she'd hand a tissue and be like, give a bat in the cave.
Like she, it's very like, that's just her job.
Yeah.
Right.
That it would be shitty if she didn't come.
That's like your one job.
Sometimes I see a makeup artist like plucking the inner workings of like an old man's ear.
And I was like, it's not as easy as it looks.
No.
Or glamorous.
Like it's not all who to be beauty.
You know what I mean?
Like there's some, especially not on men.
Yeah, I know.
So gross.
I took one of those little things and, like, zhuzhed out Chris's nose the other day, and it was, like, very satisfying, but also, like, ugh.
Jared had a nose hair that was growing past his nose, and he just tucked it back up.
No, he did not.
Because he didn't have anything to get rid of.
Ew, nothing hurts more than pulling a nose hair.
And the way my nose is made, that my inner labia, it, like, it comes out more than my outer labia, so you can see all the nose hair that grows in the inner.
You have a visible nostril.
A visible nostril.
So I have to pluck all this like multiple times.
Like whenever I put my eyebrows.
That's a great idea.
I see people doing videos of those waxing.
Dude, where they just stick it up your nose.
I do not want to do that.
It sounds horrible to me.
But that lasts for a while.
And with waxing, your hair starts growing in less.
So you don't have to do it that much.
I don't know that I'm the person that is going to.
You know what?
I'll try it.
i just decided i was like i'm not gonna and then like that sounds can you do it and film it
yeah i think what it could is there an at-home kit is my question i'm sure there i'm not paying
for this but you just put it on like a swab put it on a swab right and stick it up and then it
dries and then you just yank it but the problem is is that i'm not a good self-waxer like i've
tried to do the self-wax bikini oh my god that is terrifying with the tapes oh where you put the
tape and then you heat it i would just stand there and like trying to talk myself into ripping
the strip off for like an hour yeah that's something you can't it's too hard to inflict
on yourself that's why i think that i'm gonna have to go somewhere to get this nose taking
you know what i'm gonna get a really big like um let me guess before the seychelles yes
i'm gonna get a big bikini butt wax so i will do it then and i'll film it for you guys your nose
yeah okay my nose cool are you excited i actually i am i wonder how much hair i have up there and
then probably a lot right i thought you have a lot and do you think i'll get sick after because
yeah i was just gonna say you need nose hair you do need nose hair but how much do you need to stay
alive you know do you need nose hair anymore is that like an evolutionary thing that you don't
really need like how we don't really need arm hair anymore yeah like i don't know or our fourth
fifth toe really like i don't feel like i have a sensitive sinus but if i go five days before i
leave for the station and then like all of a sudden like smell is like out of control and
like i'm sick the whole trip i'll kill you mother don't do the whole nostril just do the one outer
rim yeah the outer that's why you can't do it yourself labia majora because i will end up going
up to her brain and like a little bit of my eyeball comes out anyway yeah um okay i can't
wait for this what was your what was your favorite look on the show no and okay i you could pick what
question you want to answer here's the two questions okay what was your favorite look or
was the most surprising part of the show us becoming friends with aj yes it was to me
It was.
That was the hot.
But is he still our friend?
You guys, I thought.
Let's call him right now.
Let's call him.
I thought about that because I went to Planet Hollywood recently to see Florida Georgia
Line and I was like.
You could have popped in.
Oh, no, they're not there anymore.
It's at the same stadium.
Oh.
And I was like, oh, memories.
Wait, a stadium?
Or whatever, venue.
You saw him?
Arena.
Arena.
They played that?
Florida Georgia Line?
Dude, they're huge.
They're huge.
They played there for like six nights straight.
Can we call AJ and see if he'll answer?
Do you have his number?
No.
Jack does.
I don't.
I'll tell T.U.
like oh it's the last time we called aj kelty farted okay we're all on right now you have to
tell him he's on the podcast wait okay yeah so should i text him first no just call him
facetime him facetime just give him he loves a facetime okay okay here we go video i wish i
looked better put the mic up to um to his the speaker and turn it up really high his up like
your phone. Denied. FaceTime is unavailable. You're doing it again. Don't do it again. Don't
do it again. No. Well, he just denied Kelty's call. So we were podcasting, wanted to say
you were the, Oh my God. The highlight of our year. Kelty, put your mic up to your,
yourself. You were podcasting. You were the highlight of our year. Okay. I sent that nice
text okay i do have to say the best thing that happened all year was us becoming friends with
aj whether or not we're still friends it doesn't seem like unsure no that was the friendship
continues but that was awesome he was so great and then when he was like you're gonna come to
the show and we were so exhausted so exhausted we were like one step away from death from like
i can't believe we did that that was and we were like we're going that was the most spontaneous
thing we've ever done in my life we were shooting the show that morning we were up at 5 a.m and he
was like oh you guys should come to the show tomorrow tomorrow yeah in vegas in vegas and we
were like what and he's like yeah come be my guest in vegas so then we had alex book our flights
while we were drunk on lunch yeah on lunch break while we were drunk after shooting the show
she books our flights and we because we knew we're like if we wait till tonight we're gonna be tired
and we're gonna be over it so we need to come it while we're drunk yes at 8 a.m and then we just
did it we did it and it was so fun didn't sleep that night in vegas either and then no and then
because we had to get back up and go i had to like go to work in the morning right we did we
had a photo shoot of the office yeah and i felt like a garbage you guys i've never been i was
like shaking i'm like i think i don't have water in my body anymore it was so good it was the
When you got pulled up on stage at the concert, I seriously will never forget that moment.
I'll never forget it.
And I'll never forget when I was such a dick and I got the rose and I was just like slapping
people in the audience as I walked back to my seat.
And then I wanted to keep that rose forever.
And you looked at me and you were like, give it to somebody else.
You have to give it to the girl behind you.
And I was like, no!
Yeah, the girl behind us had been there with her mom like 15 times.
Yeah, to see the show.
Yeah, she deserved the rose.
Yeah.
Then Kelty and I ended up sending videos of AJ to each other for the next like three weeks.
Oh my God.
Then we went, you know what?
We've never talked about, well, we talked a little bit about, then we went on an AJ tear.
Like we didn't include you cause we knew you weren't into it.
We knew I didn't care.
Yeah.
But like, at like 11 PM, Kelty and I would be like, watch this music video.
Go to two minutes and 58 seconds.
AJ looks so hot.
Like he was like, we were dead.
and then like i was so far down the k-hole of youtube like i was in like early days i was on
the tour like they were they continued the tour and i would be like on the they have a bsb cam
at the tour and i'd be like look at the bsb cam and then like do you remember when they started
the world tour yeah and they got new costumes and we're like oh shit the new costumes are out
good as ysl boots look great great combats bro and they're so ugly those outfits yeah they're
not great they love to do like a medieval like ever after but like with a cargo and a big like
a big long boy shirt a big boy shirt anyway on that note it's the end of the show i'm sad for
you guys thank you for joining us we love you aj feel free to call no he has not nothing not even
