Starting point is 00:00:00 it's time for a quickie podcast one presents the lady gang the hollywood girl posse with lady gang quickie here's kelty knight becca tobin and jack vanek let's make this quick hello hello hello welcome to the lady gang i am becca here with jack and kelty good day hello good day this quickie is about you oh god well actually it's not i'm gonna give you a choice. Okay. So in the Facebook group, I posted and I said, Hey, we're about to do some quickies. And you know, there's, I want to know what you think. We are a lady sourced brand. You know, I was like, what, what do you, what are you missing? What do you want to know about whatever? And of course, everyone asks us about skincare and I'm like, save that for a sponsor post on
Starting point is 00:00:46 Instagram. You know what I mean? No, but I thought that would be like, we've done that before, you know? So there's three, there's four topics that we are going to quickie. And I want to know which one you would like to take today. Here's the choices. The Becca's one million followers adjacent. So someone said you're on your new TV show. You're so close to having one million followers. What will you do differently when you have one million followers on Instagram? Don't answer now. Just a topic we can start off of. Number two, people that have been married or in relationships a long time, relationship sparks, how to get your love back. Okay. I can't tell anyone how to get their love back. It is a year into a dumpster fire. Yeah. This is just not the
Starting point is 00:01:28 year to get love back. No, just hold on tight. Don't vote yet. Don't vote yet. Okay. Number three, practical and impractical things that you have or do in your life and unusual habits. Oh, I like that. Okay. So that's number three. Number four is could the ladies talk a little bit about finance. Um, we never talk about money and we need help, um, on how you do your financial life. Here's my vote. Um, my conversation about my followers on Instagram is going to be very brief. I'm like, are we going to have a whole podcast? Because if this were Kelty, we may have a full podcast about it. However, not, I like the idea of, I will address the question and then maybe we move on to the odd habits and things that we do for ourselves. Okay. Okay. Please address the
Starting point is 00:02:19 question. The question. Okay. So, uh, the, the answer is I'm going to do nothing. Um, when I hit a million, because it means absolutely nothing. Uh, Instagram's not real. And, um, while I appreciate people following along in my life and that they have an interest in me because God forbid, I'm not quote irrelevant. Like all the trolls on Instagram like to tell me on the daily, it does feel nice. I'm not going to lie. However, um, 950 something thousand versus a million followers is really, is not going to change the way that I'm, you know, walking out the door. You're not going to do like a photo shoot with a one and an M. Absolutely not. I think you should. Absolutely. I would. I did it for 60,000. Oh my God. Sad. Sad.
Starting point is 00:03:07 well back up but don't you think it could be career like and she's got a million followers on instagram no because it doesn't matter no because when the truth is is that half of my half of my 950 something thousand people right now probably don't even actively follow me they probably muted me weeks ago after my seventh obey workout post you know what i mean it's just a number. It doesn't mean that many people are watching me a day. Thank God. Cause that would be terrifying, but I don't really think it makes that much of a difference. And I don't even think being on the show is going to make much of a difference. Not because it's not going to be a amazing show, but because people don't gain followers the way that they used to.
Starting point is 00:03:54 And I gained like no followers from Lady King TV. Yeah. I gained a lot of followers from Lady King TV. I think when the bar is low, a lot of people are not following you and then they have the opportunity. You guys already have your max followers. I think, I think the only thing also I'm 35, 35 year old women. It's not like I'm the cast of Riverdale. You know, there's people chomping at the bit to follow those young actresses. I'm kind of in a category now where thankfully the people following are not like crazy, um, obsessed with me. Like they are madeline pesh i'm a i'm a relatable follow and the and that's that's okay that's the best that's the best follow to have yeah my shit might blow up when i have a kid one day though i feel i hear
Starting point is 00:04:45 that stuff yeah that is that's that's what you got to do when you get to our age because nobody wants to follow us for any other reasons other than baby photos baby photos also i bet you after of this podcast, I lose like 10,000 followers just because people hate me that much. They don't want me to reach my goal. Not my goal, but your goal for me. I'm going to unfollow you. Okay. I'm jealous. Okay. So the temperature started to get warmer here in Vancouver and I slid on my favorite pair of slip-on Rothy's sneakers. They are so cute. I have them in almost every color. I love them so much. They are not only comfortable, they're washable and sustainable. They're made out of marine plastics and repurposed water bottles.
Starting point is 00:05:28 That's right. They have shoes, bags, and face masks. And they have the point in black shoe that has over 3,000 near perfect reviews. It's one of their best-selling shoes. It's great for the office. It's adorable. It's chic.
Starting point is 00:05:40 It's stylish. And the best part about these shoes is you get zero blisters. There's no break-in period. And you can throw them in the machine to wash them when they need a little sprucing up. So check out all these styles. They have different ranges of color styles.
Starting point is 00:05:53 They're ever-changing. and they have prints and patterns. They're adorable. I cannot say this enough. They are the most comfortable shoes ever, ever, ever. So check out all the shoes, bags, and masks available right now at rothys.com slash ladygang. That's rothys.com, R-O-T-H-Y-S.com slash ladygang.
Starting point is 00:06:09 Style and sustainability meet to create your new favorites. Head to rothys.com slash ladygang today. If you're a K-type, then you know that life forces us to basically be always on now, especially that we're working from home and people can get to us. Everything is go, go, go, go, go. it's nothing but nonstop hustle all the time, which I love. But sometimes you just need a moment to turn off and hit reset. And that is why you reach for Coors Light. It's made to chill. Sometimes you just need to be like, what time is it? It's Coors Light time. And take your beer to
Starting point is 00:06:38 the hot tub, as you know I love. It's made to chill. That's what I'm saying. And there's only one beer out there for you, and that is Coors Light. The mountain on the bottles and cans even turn blue when your beer is cold. That way you know it's always time to chill. And when you need to hit reset just open a Coors Light. It's mountain cold refreshment made to chill. Coors Light is the one Lady Gang chooses when they need to unwind so when you want to hit reset reach for the beer that's made to chill. Get Coors Light with a new look delivered straight to your door which is so amazing with Instacart or Drizzly. Celebrate responsibly. Coors Brewing Company Golden Colorado. The Lady Gang. Next topic practical I by the way I do want to let you
Starting point is 00:07:18 know, you talked about that for like four and a half minutes. So it was longer than just like two seconds. I tried to drag it out. No, you did not. Okay. Practical, impractical things in your life and unusual habits. I know mine. Okay. Go ahead. I need to think. I realize talking about finances. Oh my gosh. It's all rolling into one. What? It's a cooter board. It's a cooter board of options. Topics are everywhere. Grabbing them out of the sky. Oh my God. Wow. So I realized going through my finances that something I do spend a lot of money on is the maintenance of my face. Oh yeah. Oh yes. I have a whole Bujo page about it. It's several times a month I'm going to get a facial or some sort of laser or some sort of injection. I, yeah, I spend a lot
Starting point is 00:08:21 of money on products because I believe that we need to use good products on our faces. I spend a lot of money on facials because that is the thing that makes me feel good about myself is having nice skin because I don't like wearing makeup. So that's my thing. That's, that's my very irresponsible money spending aspect, but then I get weird about just going and getting my nails done. I will literally spend $500 at the esthetician, but then if I go and get a $100 manicure pedicure, I feel great afterwards. And I think to myself, I should do this all the time. But then when two weeks rolls around and my gel has grown out and I have sandpaper on my heels, I think to myself, you know what? I'm going to save the $80. I'm going to just give myself a
Starting point is 00:09:11 pedicure or soak off my gel myself. I have weird guilt when it comes to a regular mani-pedi being person. See, a regular mani-pedi is what I've learned through the pandemic is the one thing that I have to have. I have to have somebody doing my nails. I don't know what's wrong with me, but i can't even paint a toenail like i just i can't without it like looking all goopy and disgusting but i fell into a desperate hole because um like a few months ago when everything was closed in california like all the nail salons were closed everything was closed and i paid an embarrassing amount for a hard gel manicure for somebody to do a private one but it was worth much? $200 for just the nails. Yep. Oh, that's what it costs. I was going to New York to film
Starting point is 00:10:11 the show. And I'm like, if anybody has seen, I mean, you guys have seen my nail beds. You can't go on TV with a bad nail. I have an anxious habit of literally picking my nails till they bleed. I'm like, I cannot have angly cuticles getting blood on my dress because I am picking them. So it was, it was a must, but it was the worst, uh, money spent that I have done in a very long time. How often are you doing pedicures? Well now like once every six weeks. Oh, wow. Okay. I haven't had a pedicure since, uh, October. It's dark. It's really dark down there. I've been having that fun thing, um, called digging my own toenails out of where they grow. silent. And when you Google it, I'm like, there's gotta be a better way than sitting here crying on
Starting point is 00:10:59 the floor naked doing my ingrown toenails while my husband watches. And then it's like, Google's like, do not at any cost do what they call a home surgery. It's like doing it anyway. I'm going in. What is a home surgery on your ingrown nail? Cause you like, you just dig them out and file them and you cut them and you're bleeding. And then you can't walk for three days. You can't wear a shoe. I mean, it's so many things. All right. I have found the golden ticket of practicality in the closet. Okay. It has been a journey of my entire life to figure out how do you store a t-shirt? Okay. Marie Kondo told me that I'm supposed to fold it into a little knapsack and I'm supposed to line them up in my drawer. And then I'm going to be able to see which one
Starting point is 00:11:49 I pull out, which is great in theory with a full drawer of t-shirts. It does not work long-term. Marie, condo, you take one out, the whole stack falls. Then you got to put it back in. It's not the right size. I can't be doing entire drawer foldings every week. This is exhausting. So that does not work. Then I went through a stage where I hung the t-shirts. I hung them up in the closet because I was like, you know what? T-shirts is something I wear every day. I like to be able to see all the t-shirts that I have in color order and they won't be wrinkled. So I'm not, I'm moving out of draw town into hang town. The problem was, is that it takes up a ton of space. And then I had to be mean to my t-shirts because some of the t-shirts were beautiful. And I was like, you're
Starting point is 00:12:36 a hanging t-shirt, but then some of them were workout t-shirts. And I didn't feel like a workout t-shirt or a house painting t-shirt deserved a spot on a hanger in the closet. So they were still in a drawer, still messy. This has been dark. Your faces are amazing. I have a solution. Have you found your own solution? Because I'm telling you the solution now. So the practical solution is this acrylic box. After watching home addict, I made six acrylic boxes. I used my cricket and I made labels on them. And now I have just boxes of t-shirt. It's a half shelf. I can see you half you're folded, but you're not. And so when I do the laundry, I just shove them in the little boxes, but I can see them. They're organized and they're organized by type favorite sports
Starting point is 00:13:23 tank, long sleeve, dark whites. That's all I have. Okay. If you, well, if you ever want to put them back into a drawer, there are these little things at the container store that fit into your drawer they're like little cubbies and then you just roll your t-shirts up and just stick them right into the little cubbies i do that with my t-shirts and i do that for socks no they're bigger ones so they're probably like four by four so you can roll your t-shirt up into like a little sushi piece and then stick them in there so you can always find your t-shirts you see every single one of them they're rolled in they're like the perfect size for a t-shirt and you put all the t-shirts together all the classifications yeah i mean so you roll a t-shirt you would wear out
Starting point is 00:14:12 with a nice necklace and heels in with a yoga t-shirt i don't think i have a separation no i don't need i don't have that many t-shirts my apartment's too small i can't keep a lot of clothes in it so i'm just editing it all out anyways stamps.com is the bomb.com you know what i mean we've talked about it forever but if you're a small business if you're selling stuff on etsy If you're just trying to get your birthday presents out to your nieces and nephews on time, if you're trying to send your mom recycled books like I do, stamps.com is so easy. Starting point is 00:16:38 habit for kelty so as you know i love to be organized and i love to have things clean like before pandemic people would come to my house and they would be like, so do you have like a cleaning lady every day? Because I just can't do clutter and I can't do like messiness. There are drawers and things that I shove and like, you know, the messy exists, but for the most part, I'm, I'm tidy, tidy, tidy, tidy. I have an unusual habit. My car's disgusting. Last week, I went through the McDonald's drive-thru and I got an Oreo McFlurry and they really put a lot of the Oreo crunch on the top to where it was like coming out. And when I pulled the spoon out, a lot of Oreo crunch came. It's all over the car. I don't care. I spilled a coffee about
Starting point is 00:17:20 nine months ago that had cream in it on the, I, on the guest side of the car. It's still sitting there like rotting on the floorboard. This is Elise, by the way, I'm going to give this car back. There is so much garbage, so much grossness. I never washed my car. I've probably washed it twice in four years that i've had it i am a disgusting human being it's my secret shame that's why i have a tiny car i never have to carpool good night your car has always been messy hasn't it yes always that's where you keep your mess that's where i keep my shame your that's your monica closet from friends how monica's immaculate and organized except she has this one closet that's just a disaster you gotta keep it somewhere that's why i almost like having
Starting point is 00:18:04 my Jeep because it doesn't have a trunk. So everything is, you can see through everything. So there's nowhere to keep a bunch of junk until I get to the point where when I get stressed out, like I always keep things clean until I get a little bit too stressed out. And then I just like, let it all go. Then I leave every single cup, every single napkin, everything just like lying around. But until then there's nowhere to like hide your shit in a Jeep, which I like. I just think like I have cleaned out the lady game closet in my garage 500 times in four months like I organize it and then i'm like I think it would work better if I needed it like never once I was like take your
Starting point is 00:18:43 Car and take a vacuum to it and get rid of this oreo. Like it's so gross. That's all pretty gross Do you have an unusual habit jack? I have a practical uh organizational thing um i have so much skincare stuff and i have no room in my apartment like i've said um i bought myself a label maker which kelsey would approve what'd you get at the ferrari dymo one or something you got dymo thanks really expensive oh wow oh my god i had a dymo i traded it in but now i have my crickets so i'll make some labels for you i can even make them in custom
Starting point is 00:19:20 glitter paper if you want no thank you so uh anyways i bought these these cubed these white cubed little stackable boxes again from the container store i would love for them to be a sponsor on the lady gang and same they are like six inches deep probably like 10 inches tall and i've stacked like 20 of them on top of each other and i have organized all my skincare i have a cleanser drawer. I have a lotions drawer. I have a serums drawer. I have a body and hair and everything is in its place because before then I just had drawers full of a bunch of junk. So that is the way that I organized my skincare. And then the only skincare that I'm using at the time I have in my little skin fridge. You have a skin fridge. I'm so jealous.
Starting point is 00:20:08 Oh my God. I've been sent like four of them. What? Send one to me. No one sent me a skin fridge. Are you guys jealous that when I moved out of the house in LA, the moving company, they can't actually take liquids. So I could not, I had all those boxes of all the products and all this stuff that I just couldn't part with, but I also didn't use. So I am going to arrive to Austin in our new house with no clutter. It's going to be a fresh start and I can't wait, except my closet there is like half the size of the closet in LA. It's already giving me anxiety. I don't know what I'm going to do, but I'm going to have less clutter. Nothing feels better. Nothing feels better than a purge. A purge. I love a purge. And that's why I'm nervous. Well, I'm nervous about my cricket
Starting point is 00:21:01 because now I have like all these supplies. Like I have papers and tools and I know that I'm just saying cricket again you guys are rolling your eyes but if cricket anyone is cricketing please find me on instagram at kelsey i need all the help and also cricketing just like the name of the label maker oh it's not a label maker babe or is cricket like the lifestyle cricket's a lifestyle for sure and if anyone works with cricket i know that i already put them up what is it okay so cricket there's two kinds of crickets there's cricket joy it's small there's cricket make so can we have the elevator pitch so i don't die like i can't tell if it's like okay it's like something real or an idea no a cricket is a community it's a like a printer for making
Starting point is 00:21:47 crafts so it is a label maker you can make labels you can make t-shirts like if you wanted to do an iron-on and i wanted to say jack sucks i can make you that t-shirt and then iron it on it's a cutter I'm sure it's great quality. It also, you can make boxes for parties. You can make banners. You can make, you can make cards. You can make stationery. You can also, you can cut fabric.
Starting point is 00:22:13 So say if you're making homemade face masks and you have a pattern, it will cut the fabric for you over and over again. It's like, it looks like a printer, but it has a whole bunch of different things. It's like a 3D printer kind of thing. It has cutting like things you can draw on things. Like if we wanted to do the next time we have a lady hang, if we want to do those decals that we do on the floor that are made of vinyl, I can make them now.
Starting point is 00:22:35 Becca's not even listening. I will have to make them, but you can print them. I can print them. Yeah. Like I'm making a baby present for a friend today. I'm making like a onesie that has the baby's name on it, which I think is really cute. So anyway, I'm awesome.
Starting point is 00:22:49 You guys are awesome. Thanks for joining us on Lady Gang. If you work for Cricket, I'm ready for my sponsorship. And this was fun. i don't think you got that much information uh and we weren't here for a long time becca we were here for a good time thanks for listening the lady gang is produced by alex ingber will sterling steve delameter and jared monaco make sure you subscribe rate and review our podcast and if you love it share it with your friends on social media like oh my god i just listened
