it's time for a quickie podcast one presents the lady gang the hollywood girl posse with
lady gang quickie here's kelty knight becca tobin and jack vanik let's make this quick
hello hello hello welcome to the lady gang i am becca tobin here with kelty knight and jack
vanik and it's a special edition because we have two very very important people joining us for top
of show we're having a five sum with their new podcast sorry we're stoned i said it like a
canadian sorry sorry sorry we're stoned these two ladies are giving us an up-close look at inside
one of hollywood's most famous families brandy is a podcast queen with her other show your favorite
thing with wells adams which i was on and it was the best ever and i got so much feedback one of
our favorites and she's also booked and busy honey dj influencer in the wild literally like in the
wild with her horses in nashville fashionista and host mama tish is a freaking legend icon
uh working behind the scenes with noah trace and miley on their music all while taking
her horse down to the old town road of the achy breaky heartthrob billy ray cyrus
in honor of the ladies today's quickie is all about getting stoned please welcome
to the podcast brandy and tish cyrus honestly i'm coming on this every day i mean like shit
legend like you know like icon icon like love what else do you need you are an icon like you
you basically inspired like 2015 to 2020 fashion single-handedly in the 90s and early 2000s i have
to say i have a funny tish story so in 2009 you came to see rock of ages on broadway and yes i
did yes and you came backstage and the girls of rock of ages all came down to take pictures with
you and you were like probably the most excite like the most exciting backstage guest in the
history of rock of ages you were so complimentary to us let me just say but nobody you didn't need
to do it it was not for any other reason but you were so so nice to us telling us how hot we were
as strippers on Broadway. You know, because that's like, honestly, Brandy will tell you,
I still say, I wish I could just click my little heels and go back to the eighties and be an eighties
stripper because it was like my dream job. And so I'm sure I was just so jealous that you were up
on stage doing that because literally I'm just like, everybody always makes fun of my hair
extensions. I'm like, what? It's like, I'm like living my eighties stripper dreams. Like still
never too late you can always start i mean yeah i like honestly too old for that i was telling
brandy like i can't even touch my toes anymore so like if that's not happening that rock of ages
like i am the biggest 80s queen uh literally to this day i get my car and i'm listening to like
literally molly and i were driving down the road yesterday and i was like why are you videoing me
because she was like probably because you're everything when she's my cherry pie like i'm
totally like singing she was like get a grip it's incredible yeah live your life and and then brandy
you turned out normal how named after an 80s stripper she actually is she is named after
brandy brandt who was in an aerosmith video i think uh what was that loving an elevator
okay so i was so in love with brandy brandt thought she was the hottest person ever and
literally named brandy after brandy brand that is incredible fact this is why you guys need to add
their podcast to your roster like this is we're two minutes in and we've had i've learned so much
i've learned so many things and i think that's the first time we've said that publicly now
everybody's gonna be now we know why these people are so messed up now we know why molly's crazy
you know, no, no, it's all your fault. It makes me love you more. So Brandy, your podcast with
Wells, your favorite thing, it has already been very, very successful. Like congratulations to
you. I've never got so much feedback when I've been on another podcast in my life. Like you
guys do such a great job. So why did you want to like bring mom into the podcasting world?
Is it because you're on different coasts? You can work in your sweatpants. You realize it's
the best job ever yes um podcasting wells and i've been doing this now for like i think we say
like three years i've honestly lost count of the time um but it is my favorite work thing that i
do because of all the things it's been the easiest to actually connect with like quote unquote fans
i hate calling them that but like our listeners like they dm us and they tweeted us and it just
it really feels like a community and it really feels like you actually like they get to know you
instead of just your Instagram reel. And, um, it's just been really nice. So, and the other
thing about my mom is like, she's such a behind the scenes person. She's been that way, like our
whole lives, but she's funny as hell. And so we traveled quite a bit, always end up sharing a
hotel room and she gets so stoned to go to sleep. Funny as shit. It's the funniest shit. And I'm
like, we got a mom platform. Like we've got to like, although Brandy usually doesn't think it's
funny which makes me laugh even more and she'll be so mad at me and she'll be like mom you have
like she is like stern you have got to stop i'm going to sleep mom stop laughing and like she'll
get so angry which makes me laugh even more i have to find videos and put them up sometime and
it's like she totally turns into my mother and it's like the angrier she gets the funnier it is
to me and i can't stop laughing and it is insane actually now she's always like please let me get
my own room and I'm like no I need around me I need to room with you only if you don't get stoned
she says no yeah right what do you say when you're like what kind of crazy are you saying when you're
stoned I don't even know I think honest that's what you lose your filter that's what's so great
about it like usually she's so concerned about like saying the right thing and not upsetting
people and not saying something controversial but when she gets a little stoned that all goes out
the window and it's so great. Yeah. We did a few lobs on Instagram. We did our podcast and Brandy
was like, we're not going to do that anymore because you definitely said some things that
we're going to need to edit out. And so pretty risky to do a live when you're under the influence
of anything. Yeah. So I know you've talked about all kinds of things on your podcast. I want to go
around the table today and I want to know your first, like when you first bought, found, smoked
like something, some weed, um, and like whether it was real or it was like fake or whatever you
were doing, like Becca, I want you to start. Do you remember the first time you like knew weed
existed? Like it was yesterday. I was a senior in high school. And at that point, up until that
point, I had just been heavily drinking. Cause I grew up in Georgia and that's all you did was
just drink natty, natty light ice. So I was like ready to move on to the hard stuff. And I lived
across the street from the biggest stoner ever, this guy Addison. And he was like, you want to
come over and smoke some weed. And I thought it's, I feel this feels right. The next day I had my
auditions for college. So I went to musical theater college and I had my auditions the next morning,
which like idiot, I don't know why I thought to do this the night before. So I go over, I smoke
weed. And the first time you smoke weed, it's out of a bowl. And I didn't know how much I'm
supposed to smoke. And he's such a stoner that he hits it like seven times. So I'm like, I guess
I'm hitting it seven times. I hit it seven times and I walk out the front door and it feels like
the grass is water. And I take like probably 15 minutes to get to my car. And I had to drive my
car simply like seven houses down. And I had to go through one stop sign intersection. And I was
driving I'm pretty sure like three miles per hour and I felt like I was flying and it was like
sometimes I do that right like I've been one time I was on the freeway and Billy Ray was in the car
and we were driving down the road and I literally had smoked pot and he literally was like oh you
know what I was following him and he calls me in the car and he was like you have got like you are
going so slow and I was like no I'm not and I looked down and I was going like 35 and like a
70 mile per hour zone. And I'm like, oh my God. And then I'm like trying to drive faster and I'm
like all paranoid. And I was like, that's not a good thing to do. No, it's not. But at least,
I mean, at least it's safer than drinking and driving. You're going, you know, how much damage
can you do going, you know, 10 miles per hour? Honestly, I talk about this all the time.
You're like a senior citizen driving at that point. That's what it is. You're so paranoid
that you drive so good that, you know, like, cause I'm just like, it freaks me out because
I'm not a drinker at all. And I always like, I just really can't believe we can go and buy alcohol
so easily. And people are so accepting of it. And it's so many bad things that come with alcohol
and with marijuana. There just really isn't. I was like, nobody gets angry and punches holes in
the wall and, you know, explodes. Cause a lot of people are just such mean, crazy drunks. Yeah.
Everybody just wants to love each other when you're stoned, which is amazing. So true. Or
you're like me and you just get massive panic attacks but that's that's oh that's not a good
yeah friend that that happens um brandy all right so i was such a goody two-shoes growing up like
i didn't do anything um and i actually my very first boyfriend um when i met him at a church
camp but he had just gotten out of rehab for a cocaine addiction oh nice classic wow classic
classic thought out of that he started smoking weed instead of doing coke and so that was the
first time i feel like i've ever been around it and i was just so against it because my mom will
tell you she's been against it her whole lives too she didn't smoke she was older i let her tell
you but the first time i personally smoked because i don't smoke often i like an edible
yes my sister miley sat me down in a room full of people and put put the pressure on me with a big
and was like just one puff just one it's all i want it's your sister for me it's one gift of
just one puff and it's all like freaking thing and i took a little puff and i just started coughing
so bad i was like are you happy now are you happy and that was the first time that's amazing do it
for me the lady gang okay so for me this is insane and i did not smoke pot ever in my entire life
until i was 42 ever not one not one hit but were you around it because like in the country music
i'm assuming like growing up you were around more booze okay the crazy part about this is
you all are going to think this is like our attorney still thinks I'm lying I literally
knew Billy Ray smoked when I met him and I was so against it when we met he like just acted like
like he never smoked around me ever and he doesn't drink because he comes from there's a lot of
alcoholism in his family so he actually had a problem with it when he was younger before I knew
him so he didn't drink at all and so I just assumed he stopped smoking so during Hannah Montana days
molly's business manager called me and was like they're getting up they're getting stoned upstairs
in the writing room because billy ray's getting stoned downstairs in his dressing room and it's
walked in and i was like that's not true he would never do that he doesn't smoke on set
and i literally like was like so angry with him and one time i was so mad at him for smoking pot
with one of his friends that he was like what i'll do anything how do i make it up to you and
I'm like, buy me a new car. And so he literally took me that day and bought me a brand new car.
This is amazing. This is when I was so against it, but the way I started was insane. So Molly
and I were on the bank. It's coming. So, um, I, we were on the bangers tour and me and Noah were
on the bus with two other people. One was her manager, Larry Rudolph, and one was her tour
manager Keith and everybody else went from Houston on to New Orleans and I wanted to stay behind
actually it was so cute because Mitchell Musso from Hannah Montana and his mom lived there
and so Miley needed to go ahead and I stayed behind to hang with them and shop and just have
a day with them so she had already gone on but me and Noah and everybody stayed behind and we're on
the bus in the middle of the night leaving Houston to New Orleans and we're about two hours in in the
middle of freaking nowhere and all of a sudden I'm going back to go to bed and I hear the loudest
noise that sounds like a gunshot and I like and I'm freaking out and I run up front and the driver's
like really struggling to keep the bus on the road he goes it's okay okay we just we blew a tire and
so he pulls over to the side of the road and our tour manager gets off and all of a sudden he comes
in and he goes nobody panic but the bus is on fire and I'm like what and Noah's really little
at the time and I have my little dog and Larry Rudolph has already gone to bed with head headphones
in and all this stuff and didn't hear a thing so I'm trying to get him up get Noah off get my dog
by the time I did that it was on the side of the road the bus went the whole thing burnt to the
ground all of my belongings I'm in my jammies with no shoes no purse no computer like nothing
everything burnt and so we were just beginning our tour and so I was like I could not sleep
anymore on the bus I was so scared and so somebody gave me Ambien and I felt so crappy the next day
after taking it and I kept trying it okay I'm gonna get used to it but it was the only way I
and sleep. So Miley is like, mom, this is ridiculous. You're going to take a chemical,
you're going to put some weird pharmaceutical drug in your body, but you won't smoke hemp and
you won't smoke weed that's from the earth. And I kind of thought about that and was like,
that really is dumb. And so she was like, come in here, come in my bathroom, just try it. I will
not tell a cell. And I go, God, I can't believe I'm doing this. And I'm like, okay. So she rolls
a joint and I'm sitting on the toilet in her little bathroom in her hotel room. I go to take
the first puff and she opens the door and her entire band is standing in the door going,
Oh my God. What an asshole. What an asshole. She's like, mom, I will not take one. No one will know
like mom, this is okay. And literally invited the entire band to watch. How did you sleep that night?
i'm concerned about your sleep fan freaking tastic and i've never smoked never ever stopped
smoking and so here i am now what is later what does billy ray think of this now since you're
like so against it and now you're like the biggest weed fan in the world okay so it makes him so
angry like he is like i can't believe i had to be a closet smoker for 25 freaking years and now
you're out here just buying it like and first of all the first time i took him to somewhere you
could walk in a store a dispensary and buy weed he was like there's no way and I'm like no you can
buy weed and he was like this is nuts like the fact that I literally have felt like a criminal
for 25 years and now you can just walk in buy whatever strain you want you know like it blows
his mind to this day that's so funny funny Jack I hope your story can top that uh I don't know
Okay.
So I was a late bloomer when it came to weed.
I was like terrified of it when I was younger.
So my first smoking experience was when I was like in my early twenties, I'd gone to
a show at the key club on the sunset strip back in the day.
And afterwards we went to this after party at the rainbow room, which is like, we're
all like the rock stars with the lake hanging out.
Talk about eighties rock and roll.
Like that's where it all went down.
Tisha's butt prints are on the wall.
Yeah.
It's like from her assless chaps.
Oh yeah.
Absolutely.
there's like remnants of cocaine all over that place so it's the best place ever I still when
I go by like I just get chills and love it so much is it still open oh hell yeah I just went
there not that long ago because Noah was playing next door at the Roxy I think and so we went to
the rainbow um for like a couple hours before and it was so not the 80s vibe like it's kind of like
but still it's just so fun yeah it's kind of it's kind of sketch sometimes but anyway so we're there
for this after party somehow i end up hanging out with cypress hill and during this hang one of them
just decides to bring out a blunt and i decide to have my first smoking experience with cypress hill
in public at a crazy bar but you know what i'm loving about this like i think your story beats
mine because if i could say the first time i smoked pot was at the rainbow room it was pretty
tired. Pretty sickening. But then, but then I was having a pretty good time. And the same thing
with me, I don't know how many like puffs I was supposed to take and a blunt has a lot of weed in
it. So I just kept, you know, taking some puffs. And then I have an out of body experience when I
go to the bathroom and I see myself lifting up out of my body and I'm looking over the entire bar
from the bathroom and i'm like i'm never gonna get back into my body okay here's what i want to
know is whatever you're smoking is i want to try it because that sounds awesome you know
well listen if there's any down your mind they've got the best weed like supercell is not
around they're not giving you what hook me up girl because i have not had that experience and
i want it i really do i i'm not kidding i was overlooking the entire bar i had like a vantage
point that was like insane and it took like two hours for me to get back into the the physical
your body was insane in your membrane it was insane in the membrane and then I didn't smoke
weed for like eight years after that but you know great first time amazing um I have a my story is
I bought a lot of oregano from people because in Sherwood Park we didn't like know what weed was
and people like yeah and then you smoke it you'd be like I don't feel anything but you had to like
pretend you felt something like very Kelty very on brand but so Canada I'm so stone bro but my
I, so the weirdest trip I ever had was I got a lollipop and I went, I was a rockette at
the time and I went, it was Christmas and it was like my day off and I went to see the
Michael Jackson, This Is Us movie in the theater and I brought this lollipop and I think you're
supposed to like take a couple licks, but I ate the whole thing and then I was so stoned
that I couldn't, same as you, Jack, couldn't move for like eight hours.
And I just remember getting in the car with the person I was with and like, it felt like
we sat there for like 10 hours and I was like, we should go home. But like, we just sat there
staring, you know, that's my bad thing about, about weed. I just like stare. I'm not that fun.
So get, so none of you guys smoke on the daily. No. Um, I smoke, like I go through phases. If I'm
really struggling to sleep or feeling super anxious, I'll smoke before bed. But yeah,
I don't know. I haven't, I've had bad edible experiences. I have to, I have to, I can only,
I, we, Becca and I both went through like a long phase where we'd smoke like every night before
bed, but then I would start to have like existential crises every night where I like
think about death and I'm like how I'm going to die. And then I can't sleep. And then it's just
spiral. I seriously went through, I don't, don't sleep before I, I mean, don't smoke before I go
to sleep anymore, which was why I started smoking because that happened to me a lot. If I would
smoke right before I would go to sleep, I constantly think about death. It is scary.
I feel hurt. Look at Brandy's face. I literally stopped smoking at night because of that. I would
literally like everybody dying around getting old and dying. Yes. Well now, now all I do is
microdose mushrooms. That's should be your next step. Okay. So a friend of mine just started.
It's the best kids plug your ears. It's the best feeling in the whole world. Okay. So I've been
reading a lot about, they are going to start using this for like troops that come back and
have severe PTSD. They're just going to start using it for depression. And actually, weirdly
enough, I saw something not long ago that this could be something in the future, like quite a
bit in the future that they do use as people are dying because they think that it's going to make
the experience instead of a scary thing, more of a beautiful thing. I just saw something on this.
that's so smart it's great well well there you go well listen scared i'm scared it's not scary
i love mushrooms okay i've never okay i've literally i've literally been saying that i
would really like i'm just so like i don't want to feel anxious that's the thing like i like i
like if i feel anxious i will lose my mind there's no i would say that weed for me makes me more
anxious. I've never had, cause I've had like 50, 50 experiences with weed where sometimes I get
too paranoid, a little too anxious with mushrooms. I never, ever, ever. Cause you, if you microdose,
it's like a very small amount and it just feels like the best weed high you've ever had.
Real, but how do you know how to take, and I've also heard that because mushrooms is actually
like, isn't it like a poison almost is why you, because they, some people say that you,
that makes them nauseous, but does that happen? I don't, I've never gotten nauseous. I don't know
many people who've gotten nauseous unless they've really overdone it. But like now with the chocolate
mushroom bars that you can get this guy in like Venice makes them and it's dosed out. Yeah. You
got to do it. And it's dosed out. So you know how many milligrams you need to take. I actually just
hooked somebody up. Who's, uh, she's a friend of mine. She's, she's in her fifties and she's like,
I've been reading about this. I've never done it. I want to try it. And I hooked her up and she was
like texting me the whole time she's like this is the greatest experience of my life hook me up
becca okay done i feel like there's a musical like a tish and becca get stoned on 80s strippers

stone. Come back. Will you next time we'll do mushrooms. Can we do that? That would be so good
done. I think we should do that. And Kelty, it cracks me up. You're like, I'm Kelty in this
like, duh, I've known you forever. I know, but I don't know if people recognize me without my
lashes. I do in that voice, but I love them. Like, does she really have to think she has to
introduce herself? Like love Kelty. Love a red carpet with Kelty. Can you just like, can you
