It's time for a quickie.
Podcast one presents the Lady Gang, the Hollywood girl posse with Lady Gang Quickie.
Here's Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek.
Let's make this quick.
Hello, hello, hello.
Welcome to Lady Gang Quickie.
I am Becca here with Jack and Kelty.
Hello.
Hola.
It is officially our thankful quickie.
My second year being in New York City, not hosting the Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Don't know what to do with myself.
How are you feeling?
I feel fine.
I mean, I feel very sad and lonely because Chris Knight does not live at my house anymore.
Where is he now?
He is in Medellin, Colombia for Thanksgiving.
We do not have Thanksgiving together this year.
And he hasn't really been here.
I saw him for like, he got home about 8.30 last night and he left at 9.30 this morning.
So he was gone for two weeks and now he's gone for another four days.
What is he doing?
I'm just alone.
What's he doing in Columbia?
He has a big show for one of his clients and he's just been like all over the place.
It's just wild.
And I'm like, at least if you're going on trips, you should be bringing me back presents.
But I think he's too tired to even bring a present back.
Damn.
So anyway, I'm not feeling very festive guys, but happy Thanksgiving to you.
Thankful for you.
Well, you know what Kelty, you being on the Thanksgiving parade was also part of my Thanksgiving
tradition.
So it kind of screwed my day up too.
You know what?
I got a really cute, this is kind of crazy, but I'm actually doing something special in
New York.
There was this really sweet kid who is autistic and his mom, I didn't know he was autistic,
but every year I would do the Thanksgiving Day Parade and every year, his name's Logan,
they would put up a picture like of send your pictures in of you watching the parade. And like,
I have a picture of this guy for 10 years watching the parade from baby all the way to be a 10.
And the mom wrote me on Instagram and said, hey, like it was part of the tradition. Logan has the
biggest crush on you. He talks about you all the time, like from watching the Thanksgiving Day
Parade. And she was like, we don't know what to do anymore that you're not on. And so if there's
anything you're doing, let us know, because I would love to like, let Logan see you on TV or
whatever, which is like so sweet. So I went to New York, um, on a trip and I'm actually going to like
do a little flat Stanley with Logan and like take his picture around New York city and send them on
video, um, and send them like a little care package, but that's like really sweet. That's
so sweet. Cute. Anyway. Adorable. Okay. Thankful quickie. What are you thankful for this year?
lady gang let's start with your friend category jack me um what if this was just you had to pick
one friend that you were the most thankful for what if this was just that you had to pick one
friend sarah sarah well it's like you're my my space top eight it's like who's going in the
number one spot this week um so for friends i have our newest friends that we have made in life
which is our friends, Lindsay and Jeremy. They are the parents of the late and great Beth,
the French bulldog that has recently gone to doggy heaven. But we made friends with them
through Beth, which was so funny, through a stupid dog. And they turned into like two of
our really greatest friends. We recently visited them up in wine country in Oregon.
And it's just so nice because I wrote off new friends after the age of 20. And they were the
only people that we have let in and i'm so glad that we did they're really sweet so nice are they
gonna replace beth they did i mean they can't replace beth but they got another little baby
not baby it's the tiniest frenchie i've ever seen that is 12 pounds and they rescued her she was
like uh a crate french like didn't leave the crate for like two years and they bred her like a bunch
of times oh my god um so sad but she's so hell for those people i know it's disgusting but um
her name is beverly and she's so cute and all she wants to do is sit on your lap yeah and that was
like her real name which is funny because like beth and bev um but she's so like she's so like
touchy like she wants to touch you all the time because she's probably like has ptsd of people
leaving her so whenever you're like sitting anywhere she like comes and climbs on your
lap, whoever it is. And then Jared and I would like sit cross-legged across from each other
and she would like go crazy cause she didn't know which lap to sit on. And she would like go back
and forth being like, I don't know which one. And she was just so cute. Sweet angel. Little
sweetie. Yeah. Get it Bev. Kelty, do you have friends? Um, yeah, I do. Thank you so much. I
have some friends. Um, I will say that one of my manifests for last year was putting my broken
and friend group back together. And I worked really hard at it. And I think we all did. And
I'm safe to say that we are pretty good. And I recently had a couple of different birthday
dinners with my friend group and I've never laughed so hard in my life. And it just, they're
just so special to me. And so I'm very thankful that we were a little astray and all busy in our
lives. And we've really put the effort into like, they're very important to me. So that made me
really happy. That's sweet. Lovely. Big accomplishment. Yes. Mine is just the
community of friends that we have in Austin. I know you guys are like literally your own
reality show. I know. You drive in like golf carts to each other's houses. Yeah. It's pretty
awesome. I was talking to a friend of mine who was, he's thinking about moving his family to
London and he was like, I just don't know what to do and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
is it the right place? And I said, it kind of doesn't matter what city it is in. I mean,
obviously you don't want to be in like bumfuck nowhere if you're a city person, but I'm, but I
said, it's the community that you're around. So if you have that where you currently are,
then I would say it's risky to leave that because it's hard to recreate that in other places.
And I said, save the places that you love for visiting or like extended periods of time. But
I can honestly say like there would never be another city that I could live in that and have
this type of community no you're so lucky I'm jealous I don't have any friends down here
not even one you've may and bill I know that's really cute okay what about your do we want to
you family? Sure. Okay. Family. Jack? Uh-oh. Well, I'm thankful that your dad finally sent
us photos of something 10 years into the making. Lady World Dropbox. Lady World Dropbox. So big.
Haven't even had a chance to download everything yet. I mean, it is organization station. Thank
you, Bill. I know. It actually was. I mean, because he, you know, we- I shamed him. You
shamed him and he was like not today not today and spent like a week organizing our lady world
uh photos um for family i mean i am thinking about starting a family we're not thinking about
we're going to next year so that's kind of been next year what month well i want to after my
birthday my birthday will be my last hurrah so next summer sometime june i'm not ready
i'm very nervous but uh yeah it's been on the top of the mind and i'm i'm excited about it
i'm not ready but i'm ready you're never ready i know i know you just gotta do it i know so
yeah i'm excited about that yay becca um well you know zach's dad passed away this year and so it's
very, obviously it was very sad and big void in the family, but you know, when something like
that happens, it does bring the rest of the family so much closer together. Hopefully sometimes it
causes strain and stress and whatever, but I'm very grateful that with this family in particular,
like our family, it only made us closer. And, you know, the amount of contact that we're in
is so much more frequent now. You know, Zach's oldest sister, I've always, we've always gotten
along. I've gotten along with both of his sisters so well, but his oldest sister and I, we used to
talk a lot on the phone, like when Zach and I first got married and then life happens, she has
teenagers, you know, it gets busy, but we're kind of back into checking in and chatting and just
talking about fun things, funny things her teenage kids do. So I'm grateful that that, you know,
that losing his dad actually made the family much, I don't know, closer.
That's sweet.
Also, I want to say during the thankful quickie,
a big off to someone on, someone sent me something on Reddit.
I don't go on Reddit anymore. I deleted it.
But there was some sort of lore, Becca, about Lady World.
And you, if you guys don't know,
Becca left Lady World early because her father-in-law passed away literally a
day before Lady World. She stayed with us to make sure that she could be a part of it as long as
she could. Then she needed to go take care of Zach and her family. There was all this Reddit thing
about how they were like, Becca's lying. I swear to God, it was like, Becca's lying. She just
doesn't want to do it anymore and left on purpose and shit. Then someone else wrote me and they
were like, by the way, I, I am, I, I love her 1984. And I'm the one that was defending everyone.
And like, there was like all this lore, go yourself. Just letting you know yourself.
Also who's going to lie about a death.
Some people do. I mean, I mean, it seems aggressive. Crazy people do. But I think it's
because I think, I think the reason this happened is because we were respecting your family. So we
didn't go out there and be like, someone died. Becca's gone. You know what I mean? We were like,
Becca had a family emergency. She had to go. And then we explained it later on the podcast and you
talked about it. So like, if you were at Lady World or you heard that Becca left early and you
didn't listen to the podcast, you might've not known the whole story, but like also go f***
yourself anyway also also if you know me for the last 10 years I complain about doing everything
but I always do it yeah so I've literally never bitched out you would have loved to leave even
if there wasn't literally done all of the things I have not wanted to do which is most things
outside of recording this podcast so I have free will and I would have those were the things I
would have called in sick on. And I, it was certainly not. Cause the other part of it too,
is like, I missed the best day of lady world where I didn't have to, we weren't working,
have any responsibility. Like I could just run around and be crazy. I know it really was so fun
for family. For me, I, uh, I just want to say I'm thankful for my family. I'm thankful that I
learned to have some very hard conversations with my family this year. And, um, that if you have a
family it can be one of the most difficult things to have the courage to say the hard thing
and I think we're going to be in a really good position in the new year um but it definitely
has been a tough year for us and I am over it the lady gang love um I'm very thankful for Chris
Knight at Lady World he was a savior for me I was very stressed out and the fact that he showed up
and took time out of his schedule to be with us meant a lot to me. I also am very thankful that
I love him enough to know that marriage and relationships go through ups and downs.
And our version of down is not necessarily like we're fighting or we don't love each other. Like
we love each other so much, but I don't think we're on the same planet. And I don't think we've
been on the same planet for a whole year. Like, I don't think that I'm trying to think of like,
we were in lady world together and then we were in Ibiza together and like, have we had any quality
time and in 365 days? Like, I don't know. Like I'm used to having quality time because I don't
have kids. So like maybe when you have kids, Becca, like you don't ever sit and look in each
other's eyes and like have conversations like that might just not be on the, like in the adult
relationship world anymore. Um, but I really miss it. I miss him even though we're still married.
And I am hoping that in 2026, we can get ourselves back on the same planet.
Wow. This is depressing. No, it's not depressing. I think people give so much, um, grace to couples
who have small children and just children in general. They're like, Oh, like we kind of have
like a longer leash of like how detached and and like how hard it is to be connected or whatever
but I actually think when people don't have children there's nothing that's that you're
obligated to be together to like to do so it's sometimes harder in your position because there
isn't like a little human you have to show up for together and you're kind of forced to be together
in physical ways um so I think it's hard what you guys do and the traveling and all of that like I
really your circumstances are much harder than me and Zach's to stay connected yeah like even
even with Jared traveling like a fraction of the time that Chris does like then when they're home
it's like you're playing catch up and you're trying to like he's just trying to do the laundry
he's literally trying to sleep like he's so jet-lagged or he's trying to eat a meal that
didn't come out of like a box you know yeah and then he's gone again so like i totally i totally
get that yeah and it's like you the kid is almost like an anchor sometimes for you to like
have um what are we talking about oh love for me um i'm just very thankful that i have found
somebody that literally understands me to my very core, like almost psychically, the way that Jared
knows me, like he will know what's going on in my head, what I am spiraling about, what I am just
like having an OCD crazy moment about before I even say anything. And it's just so wonderful
because there are so many emotions that I go through and just like mental kind of stuff that
I don't even know how to explain. And I'm just really grateful to have somebody that totally
gets me doesn't judge me for that kind of stuff. And just, it's just really wonderful. I've never
had that before. Well, you've like ended up with an empath and not many men are.
No, definitely not. I've dated. So it's, yeah, it's like, and everybody, the guys that I've
dated dated in the past have like held these qualities about me against me as faults um
whereas jared sees like my quirks i'll say um like that's what he thinks is the most like
endearing thing about me so yeah yeah that's it's just so hard to find somebody like that
it is yeah becca becca you got love oh is it my turn yeah um well i mean i hate to always bring
down, but I, when Zach's dad got sick, it was actually an opportunity for me and Zach to also
reconnect. I think it's like when you really are shown what's important and what matters,
you can like let go of all the stupid shit you hold onto in your daily life. Um, like how I don't
flush the toilet in the middle of the night and he does not like to wake up to my stale pee in the
potty. Oh my God. Chris doesn't either. And he's so mad about it. I'm like, well, I'm trying to
be nice to not wake you the up. You got to get the signature hardware, flushable toilets, bitches.
What do you mean? Mine automatically flushes. Yeah, but he doesn't want to hear it. You don't
want to hear it in the middle of the night. It's like, and guess what? I called his bluff because
two nights ago I had to get up twice in the middle of the night to pee. I flushed that
bitch as hard as I could. And he popped out of bed. Anyways, sorry. Here we are talking
about petty shit. No, but that was an opportunity, another opportunity to just sort of take,
you know, have perspective. And we watched, I mean, his parents were married for 52 years,
still together. And it just really makes you see at the end of your life, truly what's left. And
it's the people you've stuck with and the people you've put the work in with. And it's just,
I imagine for his parents, it's a really gratifying feeling as sad as it is, but it's
like, look at us. We, we did this like for this long. That's all you can ask for. It's really
incredible. All right. Let's, um, let's go to something happy. What, something really,
really frivolous. What are you thankful for? Something that you own. I can start. This is
I'm just switching gears here. I'm really thankful for my Chanel peacoat. And I'm going to tell you
why I bought that bitch used in Paris in a size XXL because it was, it was inexpensive, like for
what it was. And I was like, I'm going to take this. I'm going to tailor the out of it. And I'm
going to make myself the sickest Chanel peacoat. And I have, and let me tell you, I have not bought
a winter coat in four years every time i put that bitch on it is perfect the pockets are huge
the buttons are shiny it's warm i feel like an olsen twin when i put it on it goes with everything
it's like just it just is i am that bitch in that coat and i want to thank that coat for being my
bitch what color is it it's black gorgeous like nice i'm jealous it's got huge pockets like you
don't even need to bring a purse that's nice what are you guys thankful for what's your shitty
selfish thing that you own that you love well mine is my pillows because I have been on a pillow
journey for I don't know how long at least over the past year because it's one of those like
things about me that I've bought a hundred pillows and Jared's like another pillow in the mail okay
because I'm trying to find the exact thing I'm looking for which is being supported
being nuzzled i want to be back in the womb i want to be protected on all sides anyways they're
called the coop sleep i got recommended the brand a hundred times on instagram and they don't
disappoint you can get them on amazon they have like that it's a filling but it's not like a
shitty filling it's like i don't even know how to describe it but you can add more you can how do
spell this c-o-o-p coop sleep coop sleep and they have a body pillow um but they are the comfiest
pillows that i have ever used so i want to thank everybody that that had recommended them because
way more than any other thing um and now i'm spreading the love so question this isn't like
a body pillow or it is no but they make a body pillow i just have three so i put one in the back
and then I put two on the sides
and then I am nuzzled in
like one of those you pillows
but those you pillows
end up spreading apart
so it's
I makeshift my own
and you're
I'm in my own little fortress
you guys need separate bedrooms
at this point
Becca
what is the thing you own
that you're so thankful for
well mine is my energy sauna
it's this little cocoon thing
in my room
it's the company's heat healer
for a while
I had the sleeping bag, which gets hot, the infrared sleeping bag, which was great. But then
this thing is pretty epic. There's like red light. There's the PMF mat underneath. And then there's
the sauna and it looks like a little tanning, well, coffin. I don't know. And it folds up and
it looks like it's not offensive looking and it's in my bedroom. And so at night I'll turn it on
before I do bedtime with Ford. So it's like hot before I get in here, put them to bed. And then
I pop in and I watch TV because your head is out. My problem with saunas is that I don't like
feeling my face is hot, like head, face. I don't like breathing hot air. So this,
your head is actually out. That's so nice. I love it. Okay. Very last thing. What is your
joy that you're thankful for this year. Mine is when I went to, when we were young festival and
I saw Avril Lavigne and I saying, I'm with you, I felt joy in my life. And I am going to look for
more of that in 2026. I'm very thankful that I went. Oh, good. See, we had so much fun. Um, I,
mine is going to be my book club. Um, Alexis and I started a book club in January, kept it up
every single year or every single month. We had our meetups every single month. We read some really
good books and it kind of blew me away because I've never done a book club before. And the first
month that we had the meetup, I was like, okay, I'm going to prepare like a whole summary. Like
we're going to have like all these bullet points to like go through with the book. And we have a
group of like the most intelligent, well-read, well-spoken people that like really like think
about the themes of the books what they mean and we've had some of the most incredible conversations
with all of our girls in the book club that i never like it like blew my expectations out of
the water so that's my little joy joy i feel like i want to join but i want to ruin it for you so
i'm gonna let it be yours because i would like i'd fuck it up okay you wouldn't read i want to
read any of the books we're reading no i don't like to read any of the dread you're right no
Oh yeah. You can't even participate. No, they're all dark. My joy is organizing my home within an
inch of its life and getting rid of as much as I possibly can. And yeah, my dream, and I know it's
never going to happen. My dream is that every corner, every inch of my house is so organized
that there's not even something I could choose to do while I'm home. Do you know what I mean?
where it's like I walk through the door and and I'm like well there's got to be something I have
to organize no and there's nothing I know this is ridiculous and unrealistic but having a kid
there's so much chaos in your house with the toys and the shit that they grow out of and the stuff
that people give you that he can grow into it's like a never-ending goodwill center that I'm
living in. And so I'm really having to get, but I, I find so much joy getting things organized.
It's like, you can't control keeping this person. Like you can't control Ford. Like you can try,
but you can't control Ford, but you can control that closet. And it's like a control thing,
you know? It's a beautiful thing. I love it. I love it so much. Um, okay. Well,
my number one thing that we're thankful for this year is the lady in community. You guys
really showed up for us. Except for those of you talking shit on Reddit. Yeah. Well,
I don't even know if they were in the community. Like that might just be someone else who heard
the news. I don't know. It didn't seem like a person that was there. I don't know. I'll
investigate, but I won't. That's a waste of time. But you know what? I think, I can't believe it,
but in like a week, it really will be our 10th birthday. I know. Because I said all year it's
our 10th birthday, but it's actually going to be a decade. I was thinking about the other day.
I was like, you guys, we've been podcasting so long that we didn't have video and we didn't even
have, I didn't have a tripod. I didn't have a cell phone light. We went in the bathroom at
podcast one and took a selfie in the bathroom long mirror as like our promo photo, like how
the world has changed podcasting wise is crazy. But anyway, we're thankful for you lady gang
community. And we can't wait to celebrate our 10th birthday with you in a few weeks.
Happy Thanky G. And we will, what's it called? We weren't here for a long time. We're here for
a thankful time. Lady Gang is hosted and produced by Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek with
social media support from Kali Carrera, audio and video editing from Jared Monaco, and additional
support from Steve Delameter and Podcast One.
