It's time for a quickie.
Podcast One presents The Lady Gang, the Hollywood girl posse with Lady Gang Quickie. Here's
Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek.
Let's make this quick.
Hello, hello, hello. Welcome to the Lady Gang Quickie. I am Becky here with Jack and Kelty
and a very special lady. We did a little show called Turner and Hooch together up in Vancouver
for six months. She's been working in this business since she was like in diapers. She's
been in 8 million shows. Her IMDb is like running off the page. It's so long.
This is actually perfect timing. Wait, Lindsay, this is great timing because I was just about
to say she has a daughter who's really the star of the family named greta who was on vancouver is
she crying tell her tell her to come say hi this is the most embarrassing lead-in um my ac is broken
and there's my sister just walked in with a naked three-year-old which is my child and a worker
hannah so earlier today i hope you don't edit this out because this is we're not this is this is
really make me feel less alone. Uh, Hey Hannah, he can come in here. Uh, my AC is broken and
there's a worker and I there's, I'm like in my, I don't know. They'll figure it out.
Lindsay Fonseca, everyone.
Here's the thing. Life is happening. We're here. Becca, the whole time she left us,
we were really jealous and we felt like, I can't believe you have other friends that you work with.
We felt like she was up in Canada having a time of her life. And she was like, no,
you don't understand this cast is so cool. It's the most rad people. And now I'm realizing that
your naked three-year-old, your lack of AC, your red lip, like you're right. You're awesome.
And I just met you. She's awesome. She's awesome. Wow. Ladies. I appreciate that. No, we,
we loved having Becca. And also it's so funny because I only knew Becca from this woman who
just came in. We had already started shooting and she comes in as this love interest. And
immediately I loved her cynicism. I loved her sarcasm. I was like, I don't know who this person
is, but, um, yes, this is my AC guy. Hi, it's fine. I'm just doing a live podcast, but welcome
to my closet. Enjoy. So the, um, the it's, it's in there around the corner. Okay. Um, uh, so anyway,
I was like, who is this amazing person?
And then I, she told, told me about Lady Gang and I started listening and it was so funny.
I was like, oh, this is Becca, Becca's other life.
It's like her other wives.
Yes.
Yes.
We're sharing you.
So we know about, we know about Brooke and by the way, Lindsay, um, you probably don't
know this.
Becca told us almost nothing about her entire time.
We still don't know anything about it.
We know very little.
Brooke is the love interest.
She's a lawyer.
she wears uh pantyhose and she does she does wear pantyhose and we had to like figure this out on
our own by the way she offered up nothing and so i want to know on turner and hooch who you're
playing who she is about your pantyho well we had only one beautiful moment at a this will give you
a little hint about the show we met our characters met at a guacamole festival where my character
used to be in high school the like queen of the guacamole festival and becca was the like you know
my brother on the show josh pax date and so we were in strange outfits i was wearing a guacamole
printed dress obviously and becca was had too much makeup on as usual on the show
brooke loves makeup she loves a lash she loved a bronzer um and so anyway yeah so you played the
love interest i play the sister who's a single mom and barely keeping it together and i don't
know off camera i was love at first sight i don't know what else to say other than it's true
she you have you kept it a secret from these ladies because well here's what i like talking
about herself. It's weird. She's a podcast host. No, here's where I don't know what to do. I'm in
a predicament and this has now become all about me. Um, so I knew going into the show, I am a
recurring guest star. And so like my percentage of each episode that I'm in is it's small,
even though I'm the love interest, the story does not revolve around like Turner, Scott Turner's
love life. You know, I'm like an important person in his life, but I don't have this like really
crazy, powerful, like storyline, if you will. Um, and so I believe you had your own law office set
and I didn't like pants with that attitude. But here's what I do. So I didn't want to make
anybody think that I'm like the star of this show, which I am not. So I'm like, if I just
don't talk about it, then when it comes out, everyone can be like pleasantly surprised that
I popped into one scene of an episode. But what I realized is that by keeping more mystery,
it makes it seem like I'm Jennifer Lawrence. You've made an error because now you've let
Kelty Knight run wild and decide what you are in her mind. Yes. So I don't know. I'm going to
split the difference and tell you guys I'm neither really important nor non-important at all. But
Lindsay's character is very important to the story. She's one of the leads of the show.
Um, but you've also been in this business for a gajillion years, but somehow you've managed to
not be an asshole. We're going to try to find out how that's possible. But can I tell everybody
when I looked you up, I was like, I know, I know her face. I know her name. Like she's just one
of those women that's always working in the business because she's talented. She's beautiful
and she's cool. And I'm like, I know I've seen her. I know I've seen her. And then I pull up
IMDB and it's like 8 million episodes of how I met your mother. And I'm like, well, that's weird.
she's like my age and she would have been so young and then it clicked i was like she's the
daughter that bob saget is talking to the entire series of how i met your mother yeah and also i
by the way grew up watching full house like it was my like it was my second family of course and i
remember that at one of the parties of how i met your mother like the creators always had these
charity events and i would go and like and bob sag was there and i was like he we never met
and i was like i'm your daughter oh my gosh slash i've grown up with you and watched you my entire
childhood you're like my second dad didn't say that part and we like took selfies and we were
laughing and like it was like so literally like a whole full circle freak out moment when you shot
how i met your mother how did they shoot you guys like because it was always just his voice and you
guys were sitting on the couch as the kids did they play his voiceover like what did they do
i think in the pilot uh josh radner who played our father in the in the main part of the show
i think in the pilot he was delivering us the lines and of course i was so young then so like
i don't even barely remember how old were you i don't know i think imdb could do the math for me
but I want to say like 18 oh you looked like 12 yeah maybe I was 17 I don't know I have no I have
no idea and then when the show got picked up what happened from the pilot to the first season
is that we show up again and by the way the creators had no idea that they were I don't
think that they were just gonna like bottle our stuff they like hired us to be on the show for
all the seasons and we showed up from the pilot to the first season and the kid who played my
brother david henry he grew like four shoe sizes and like went through puberty oh my god and i
remember people like pamela fryman like epic god of you know multi-cam directing um she directed
all the episodes she i like remember her face i remember the creator the showrunners faces and it
was like there is a freaking man sitting on the couch now like what are we gonna do and because
I was older it was like less like we put like extensions and like we fake fake certain things
but so anyway like lawyers came in we signed documents like we're gonna bottle all your shit
and you're just gonna say all the lines and we don't know how long we're gonna use them for
because at the time we didn't know if this show was gonna be one season success whoa and then
10 seasons later they're still using so we just spent like a whole day Pamela would like give us
lines the writers would write write stuff and then they would just put them into the show
when they needed so it was like new episodes were airing but it was like a time capsule for me
because meanwhile like I'm shooting some show in Providence as a 23 year old and I'm like turning
the show and I was like oh they use that line I don't remember saying that wow like this all in
one day I think we did do a comic-con like reunion thing like years later wow you think they'll ever
do a movie i hope so yeah i think they will and you'll be in it i don't know it could be the
spinoff of like then you you guys well you should also be able to do how i met your father and
somehow like tie in isn't hillary duff doing that i think hillary is like she is but like you can
absolutely come in and play somebody that's like play the role of josh radner's daughter right
that's a fun fun little tv moment we've got an idea okay so i do want to ask you this i want to
ask you about auditioning because oh god becca will not really i mean well jack runs lines with
becca or used to until she found somebody better until she found someone better her husband um
no no zach martin is not a great no jack is much better strong thank you so i want to know about
like the audition process worst audition best audition audition for turner and hooch like
tell me a story i have so many but because i've been doing this since i was five but like
i auditioned for um what was that that like movie about the sex with um the sex eyes wide shut
the sex you know the one um dakota johnson okay so i auditioned for that and it was the audition
was just a monologue and the monologue. And I don't, I never saw the movie. So like, I don't
know if it ended up in the film or if it was just for audition purposes, but it was a monologue that
was basically me laying on like a sun chair, like lounging on beach or a pool and telling someone
like an orgasm story. Like just, just a monologue, like a full two page monologue, just expressing
myself about touching myself like and I everyone was like this is gonna be a giant movie this is
going to change your life forever and it was like Becca you know like it's one of those things where
you're like everything is telling you to stop doing this yes do not go to this audition yes
this is not going this is not for you if you're getting the red flags why aren't you listening
Lindsay and I went and who got the job Dakota Johnson oh wait it's that movie yeah Fifty Shades
of Grey what movie are you thinking of I'm sorry I was thinking of that Eyes Wide Shut Tom Cruise
movie oh my god my bad I don't think I was even born no I know you know what no one needs to bring
that up right now I am already troubled about turning 40 thank you for coming to my TED talk
Wait, so how was the audition?
I need to know how it went.
You would have been a great Anastasia.
Well, that's very sweet.
I'm sure I'm just not good being in front of a stranger
and talking about like pleasuring myself.
Call me crazy.
Who is?
Like if you're good at that, yeah.
If you're good at that, that's your job.
First of all, congratulations.
That is a great job for you.
But also you're, something is off.
If you can actually go in like no abandon
and just talk about like touching yourself that's another level of acting i can't come in like
good for you you know good for you but there's a lot of those moments that were like the almost
moment like i i got very close i did the screen test for um hunger games with the director for
that and like i remember emily browning in the room and like getting very you know
we used to be Jennifer Lawrence yeah and like so there's like a lot of these moments that were
what else what else I love this story oh god all of them Emily and Paris I mean you name them
but Emily and Paris you would have been so cute I just really um every time that I see them I'm
always like oh yes that makes sense yeah and you know what this this is a full circle too
I should be more ambitious or competitive. I really should.
No, no, it doesn't help. I don't, I just don't, I just don't care.
No, no. I love that though. And that's probably why you've had such a long career
because if you saw the projects that you were so close to getting and then were dead inside with
the jealousy, you would have already like got the banana tree and Joshua tree. You wouldn't have
made it you know like preservation I think sometimes like Becca's ability to be like I'm
not doing anything right now in Vancouver like I'm like what's going on this show how's taping
and she's like it's like not talking about it's like you almost disconnect from it because if you
actually took it so seriously you would be like one of those jerks that I've interviewed that
takes their acting so seriously and you're like are you alive are you an alien are you
no you live in carbo box like what's up what i loved about working with lindsey is that
we were actually cut from the same cloth we're both capricorns i think this might have something
to do with it but like we'll be in the middle of shooting a scene and we had like one scene to get
our first scene together and we were both like fine um you know did your thing head down we
didn't know each other that well at that point and then i think it was like a second day one
of us looked at the other, I can't remember who, cause we were both so likely to do this and was
like, I feel like I'm really sucking right now. Like you feel like I'm really sucking and I don't
know how to not suck saying this line. And that was like the most beautiful moment because it
made you realize that it doesn't matter who you are, what you've done, like nothing. Every single
person has that moment where you feel like you're sucking and it feels so amazing to connect with
somebody who knows what it feels like in that moment. And I really appreciated that about
having you and having Vanessa on the show. Like nobody was acting like they were amazing and
incredible and talented. And like, even though we all are, we all had those days where we're like,
I was so bad today. Like I'm embarrassed. Don't you feel like that's just getting older though?
Like you're like, you're less of I'm in a box. I'm playing the ingenue. I'm the love interest.
like the things that you and Beck and I, we've always been like, be the pretty girl, do this.
And like, you get older and I'm like playing a single mom who doesn't like have her shit
together. And all of a sudden I'm like, Oh my God, can I just be weird and quirky and like be
myself? And that's, that's when like shit and greatness opens up. Cause I don't know, maybe
just starting young, you just get stuck in these boxes and you're like, but I don't want to be in
this box. I'll just look at you and be like, that was terrible. Am I terrible? Yeah. Yeah.
that's literally what the lady was built on you know what i mean like connecting over feeling
like vulnerable and insecure and just weird right so i'm in the right place you're in the right
place you are when we come back we're gonna talk to lindsey about why co-stars fall in love hello

fell in love with somebody that turned out to be a grandpa? I don't know. Have you stolen somebody's
identity? Or this is what I think about lying too, is like a Hilaria Baldwin. You know, have you
started with this like little white lie and then it spiraled out of control? Like maybe you have
been lying to your husband for the past 15 years. So now is the time to cleanse your soul. Write us
in your lady secrets about lying. You can go to the lady secrets.com. Write us anonymously. We
can't track you at all. Or you can call 1-844-SEXY-LADY. That's 1-844-S-X-Y-L-A-D-Y.

in Hollywood that it fascinates the Us Weeklys and People magazines of the world. And we're
dealing with it right now with the most famous co-stars falling in love. Gigi, Gigli. Oh, God.
J-Lo and Bennifer. I'm here for it. You know, it happens all the time. And it's either it ends up
great, like for you, you have a beautiful baby, you have a lovely husband, like you fell in love
on set, like it worked out or it's like hot for a minute or it's a fake thing together just for
publicity. Like, but you always hear of people falling in love on set of shows. Like what the
hell is happening on the set that is so sexual? I'll tell you what is so extremely vulnerable
to be in love with someone on camera, because if you are not fully in love with someone on camera,
you call bullshit. Like you see it, you know it. And like, I mean, I just shot this movie
called Spinning Gold and like I play the mistress and I had to come in and like basically stick my
tongue down a guy's throat. I mean, a very wonderful actor, Jeremy Jordan. Becca, we need
to talk about this. They were on Broadway together. And I'm like, I'm too sober for this
moment like I am I have to be like passionately making out with someone where the audience is
going oh they're about to have sex yeah yeah it's a very vulnerable feeling like I I just I totally
get it being in that feeling that's why marriages break apart that's why I mean look I married my
husband I mean we didn't have an on-screen kiss but like we were you know on location together and
i'm amazed that not everyone falls in love with their star they do i mean they kind of do even
if it's like if you're just gonna have an affair or not right i think it happens more than we even
know i bet how do you as a woman send your husband into that when you know how vulnerable it is
my husband learned very early on to not tell me no because i think i i would not i would not do it
i'm married to a normie i'm not putting my husband on screen french kissing someone else like i'm
sorry i don't know how you do it well it's probably easier and i totally respect that
it's not i think i just have to suck like i think you just suck it up really see for me i i mean i
I can't know this cause I'm also with a normie, but like to me, because I know that every time I
play, like I'm in love with somebody on camera that I'm not actually. So I understand. I guess
there's a part of me that every single time I've had to be like in love with somebody on camera,
I do the work of like finding out things I actually love about the person, like preparing
for, for like being a love interest to Josh Peck. That's so sweet. You don't do that? No, that's so
cute. I am now. That is so cute. Well, I find it's the only way that I can like be believably
in love or into somebody. Like I have to find real characteristics about someone like with
Josh. I was like, I love how much he's like a family man. And it can be like twisted the way
that I love that he, the way he talked about his wife and the way that he talked about his little
boy. It doesn't have to make sense. It doesn't have to make sense. But the things that I really
admired about him made it so easy for me to walk in and be like, I love this man. Like I fucking
love him. I love all these things about him. I could have found things I didn't like if I was
playing somebody who hated him, but like, it's not real love. It's, it's for the sake of the
performance. I guess that, well, that totally makes sense. But for me, I, I trust Noah so much.
i just don't know who these other women are and that's not it like if i was with a woman
like it's not a sexist thing it's just that like right i'm with someone i know whoever the f the
other person is right i don't trust them because i don't know them so it's more like like when he
plays a husband i'm like well who is she is she married she family she has family cool cool all
right that's perfect you know like i go like weird you know but i love you for admitting that because
i think it's weird when people are like it's just my job it's like it's like i'm a doctor i just
scrub in and scrub out. I'm like, you don't have to make out with people in every other job. Yeah.
Like I don't, I don't, I don't believe there's a way that you can send your husband off to do
what you do. That's so intimate and not feel something. So thank you for admitting that.
First of all, like that makes you so real and relatable because I think any woman or man on
the planet, like, I don't even like sending my husband on an airplane. Cause I'm like,
who are you sitting next to? You smell good. You have nice beautiful watch. Like someone's
gonna pick you up you know i hear you out there lindsey it's wild no it's wild and i'm not having
sex with him so someone else might want to you know oh my god that's for another day because i
want to get into that we can get into that right now no this is turner and hooch is turner and
hooch week we've we've been into that so many times yeah it can't get out i do want to ask you
uh, you know, you have a three-year-old and I think people that are procreating right now
are insane. The world is on fire. Social media out there. I cannot imagine what you're trying
to instill into the next generation. Like, I feel like I'm in the wild, wild west. I mean, yes.
Did you watch the pink documentary? She's literally like talking to her children,
like little adults and she's like it was so good that you could communicate your needs i was like
i can't my needs yeah how do you be a parent well it's an equal for me i'll just talk about me
that's all i know but it's an equal balance of like this conscious parenting approach to life
which is like that thing that pink just did all right i see you're having a tantrum i oh my gosh
you're really upset about that. I'm not going to try and fix it. Let's just be upset. And like,
let's work through it. And like those moments of the things that we never got, maybe as kids
being shamed for big emotions. So there's a conscious parenting side that could see me
sort of in motion of that. And then there's the other side, which is I'm going to punch my pillow
so that I don't hit a wall. And I'm having my third meltdown of the day because God,
this is so hard. Yeah. You have an incredible parenting style that I don't know how, if it's
like something you were just innately really good at, but your patience is incredible.
And you do that with your daughter, Greta. Like you really do honor, like whatever it is she's
going through, but not in like a cheesy granola LA parenting way. Like, you'll be like, you'll
kind of say things where the subtext is, okay, don't do that. Or like, you're being a dick right
now. You can stop, but it's like, you know what I mean? Like you get very real with her, but it's
in a way that's like, you don't make her feel ashamed. You don't make her, but you're like,
we're not going to do that right now. That's just not a choice. And I'm sorry that you're upset
about it. Like, so here's like, I really do love the way you speak to your daughter. And I feel
like you could do an entire like instagram account dedicated to the way you communicate it's it's
really admirable well speaking of that we have a final moment here at the lady gang today with
lindsey okay jack's seeing it for the first time can you describe this photo okay so should we
discuss this photo today back on lady okay it's from lindsey i mean gretta's holding a beer is
that a beer is this a blow-up doll with hair well what i what i conveniently edited out was this is
actually a sex doll there's a penis attached to this doll oh yeah okay we we were at our friend
vanessa's house in vancouver and we were having a gathering it was very family friendly this
gathering but sometimes vanessa and her partner jens they like to have fun themed parties and
they threw a big party with sex dolls and it was a good time that was not the same event however
their their props for that party were in another spare bedroom that greta wandered into and she
came walking out of this spare room carrying the sex doll by the penis yes like literally
dragging it out by the penis and then um what did she call and then it was like the most magical
parenting moment of all time. So, okay. Becca, that's, that's what happened basically. But what
happened? What did I, I don't remember. Cause there was a point where I was like, oh, this is
so funny. This is so funny. And then the point I was like, oh, now when she started like poking
the penis, I was like, and now it's getting inappropriate. You said now I have to, you were,
we were laughing and tears were streaming down her face. And then you go, okay, you took a deep
breath and you go i have to be a parent now and you like looked at her and you were like oh because
she was like what is it what is it and you're like yes that's his penis and you know like and
something along the lines of like she was like can i touch it can i play with it and you're like
well this is a doll so that's okay and so it was a magical moment oh my god what was so funny is
that like we know vanessa is quirky and like fun and like us you know no kids like she's gonna like
you don't know what you're gonna find at friends houses but this was like they got that sex doll
for a friend that needed a fun party and like we don't who cares what they're doing but no I never
expected her to just like go in another room and then pull out a sex doll by the penis it was and
I I thought it was the funniest thing ever and also like you know she knows what one is she talks
we talk about everything like I refuse for two things to be like not a topic you discuss like
everything can be talked in an age appropriate way for a child because then nothing is a mystery
then nothing we've talked about sex we've talked about parts we've talked about by um you know
gender fluidity we've talked about like yeah transgender like and it's just a way that that
you talk to her that she can sort of like understand but it was like one of the funniest
moments ever when i'm just like i have a martini in my hand i'm she's the i'm the only mom in the
room. Like I'm trying to enjoy myself as like just a human. And then it's moments like that
where you're like, oh, and now I have to go be a parent. Okay. I'm going to, I'm going to go do
that. And now I'm going to move the sex doll from her hand. Yeah. Well, we're so freaking excited
for Turner and Hooch. Like we at the lady gang, we cannot wait. We're counting down the days
so soon. I cannot wait for you to see Becca's pantsuits, her pencil skirt, her lashes. It's

of evidence so like i know some of the outfits like we know that brooke enjoyed a pearl at one
event she wore pearl necklace yeah we remember the pearl necklace so we have moments but we're
