Starting point is 00:00:00 I started Ornod in 2013, and we make bike apparel. The best part of Shopify for me is our ability to run the business as essentially non-technical people. We're able to admin everything on the back end, front end, and sell things online easily. If Shopify were a bike accessory, I think it would actually be the bicycle. Starting point is 00:00:42 kelty knight becca tobin and jack vanik hello hello hello welcome to lady gang i am becca tobin you're with jack vanik and kelty knight oh that was not on fast forward no did it sound like it was. Yes. Well, I did just pour my third cup of coffee for the day. So, you know. She needs it. I am exhausted, but in a great way. Yeah. In a good way. When I get stressed, do you guys have like a part of your body that you like pick at? I mean, yes, my cuticles. So mine is the same spot on my lip for my whole life. Really? It's the weirdest thing. Yes. It's like if I have a dry lip dry at all and I just start to go at it this one spot I can literally just give myself like I mean it's so I have on my beautiful merit lipstick right now so it's covering it a little bit but
Starting point is 00:01:35 like why do I do this it's really just a tell it's a telltale sign that I'm stressed or exhausted and look at the color of my hair you guys I mean it looks blonde to me but I'm sure it's gray it's white look at that that's I have not had my color done in four months that's my natural hair color that's crazy maybe you should just let it grow out i saw a thing on instagram where it's like gray maxing is the new because that's what um sarah jessica parker and like all these cool girls are like she's like older than you she's a lot older yeah i know i i would let it all go but the back of my in the back and the bottom of my hair is still not quite as gray so it's like i mean i had one of the greatest hairdressers of all time do my color in may and she did a
Starting point is 00:02:22 beautiful job. But I'm like, if she can't crack the code of how to manage this situation, I don't know who can. This is just me coming on here and bitching about it. And I really do want, I am going to go at some point this week to a place in Atlanta. And there's like a way to do a gray blend where you don't go in and you fully cover the gray. I think Gwyneth Paltrow is the closest person that's sort of has this going on where it's like, if you look really close, it's not that her hair is super blonde it's that her hair is like mostly gray but they put in like blonde thin thin baby highlights throughout it but I'm just like what is the solution here I don't know I don't know maybe that and it's not an all-over color so because then you have to do it all the
Starting point is 00:03:04 time because you get that like skunk line when your hair starts but then can they color the gray does gray is resistant to color so even if they did like low lights of your bottom underneath color into the gray you can't it's just the issue is it does cover it's just that once it starts to grow out there's just so much gray that you don't really want something too dark up there because then it's like starts you have to figure out it's a it's a whoever comes up with whatever this solution is is gonna be a billionaire they're really my mom has to get her hair dyed like every two weeks yeah she has dark brown hair like at least your hair is blonde and you can kind of like I mean my grandmother do you think it's a good choice sorry this has become like what should
Starting point is 00:03:46 I do with my hair Becca's spiraling and I love to see it because she never spirals so I do I'm spiraling because I've been really good about not giving a shit for so long like look at my I don't care about my wrinkles right now I don't give a shit I don't even know what how much I weigh at this moment in time but this gray hair is something that I cannot make it feel chic as much as I try. Do you know what I mean? Like there's been no like gray hair positivity. I guess, I guess that is the Sarah Jessica Parker. But I, I mean, my grandmother just basically was platinum blonde because this is what happened to her. Am I going platinum blonde? Your mom is very platinum-y blonde because she has the same gray situation. But it looks so good. It looks so good
Starting point is 00:04:32 on your mom. So who does she go to? You're lucky because you can pull it off. So many people cannot pull off a platinum blonde. Oh, I think it's the direction it's going in, you guys. I think it's going to be good. I need the hairdressers out there to tell me what to do. That was my selfish moment. OK, well, it's time for Good Week. Yes, it is. Bad Week. Oh, no. That was my bad week. I couldn't even hold my tongue long enough to complain about what was happening in my life. And that would be my gray hairs. My good week is that I predicted that Ford was going to be a goddamn nightmare um when I brought a new baby home now he's been he's had his moments but my good week is that he has been so like not competitive not resentful wow you know we're
Starting point is 00:05:21 only a week and some change in from her being home but he like wants to hold her wants to hold her hands he's always going to wash his hands he's like can I touch baby and so he'll go and wash his own hands because he knows that's what he needs to do to touch baby and he's just like very sweet and he keeps calling her little one she's like little one he's like let's go take little one for a walk like it's very cute well that video of him pushing her in the stroller was maybe the cutest thing that i've ever seen it was very sweet but a psa make sure you strap your baby and i almost didn't strap her in because i was like where are we going she's like small she can't move like we're going for a walk but he tipped the stroller over but she was strapped
Starting point is 00:05:59 in she was strapped in but I almost didn't do it which is so stupid like I'm obviously mom brain it that bitch that bitch tipped over forward like literally she went head first oh my god did you freak the out I mean I did but I I like had such a memory of clipping her in and making it tight and telling myself you should do this because he's if he's gonna push the stroller like who knows it's like letting him drive a car with her out with her not in a car seat like I'm yeah I guess like looking back that probably isn't that smart so dumb so dumb but then I was like thank you Jesus like thank you thank you baby Jesus that I strapped that bitch in because she would I don't know I mean I had some really dark thoughts come through at that point yeah but anyways what what
Starting point is 00:06:44 preceded that was a beautiful moment between siblings yeah I mean listen on the Instagram it looked amazing for the gram I should do Instagram verse reality and yeah recreate what happen with a baby doll and people would die. Oh, my gosh. I'll go next. My good week is so we live in Mission Viejo. Now, Mission Viejo's population is 65 plus. You know, we're the youngest people that live in this entire city. Everybody is old. Boomers everywhere. They're only getting older. So it really shocked me the other day when I was driving down my street and I saw a very hot man running I was like it was Jared so that means it was not Jared but I'm like that means that there is a hot guy that lives in our neighborhood that's around our age and I'm
Starting point is 00:07:33 like that is shocking on so many different levels to me because like I said everybody else is on death's door here but I'm so surprised that you're just now getting young like fresh blood there because I feel like COVID brought the young, hot people to places that they probably would have not ended up. Yeah, they're like, I got to get out of the city. I'm working for home. Mission Viejo is not a hot spot, you know? Like, I live here because my parents live here.
Starting point is 00:07:59 But like, I think those people were probably trying to hit more of like a beach town because Mission Viejo is very suburban and very, like, we're a little bit outdated, you know? I wish we would have a few more new things in this area. um but you know maybe it's happening slowly uh there's like three people on our street that died last year so you know wonderful the new wave is coming oh wow not in my house but uh yeah it's coming anyways so that's my good week um my bad week my bad week is i just realized that on tiktok
Starting point is 00:08:34 I have been accidentally DMing Hannah Burner so many TikToks for some reason, instead of me pressing like, you know, when you can go to share it with like, like copy the link and like send it as a text message, there's like a quick button that you can press. And for some reason, my default person that I am sending TikToks to is Hannah Burner. And you guys don't even want to know what my TikTok algorithm is. It is so crazy. Has she responded? no thank god but we're friends on tiktok so like she would get that but like i don't check my
Starting point is 00:09:11 messages on tiktok because it's so confusing but there is upwards of a dozen messages that i've sent her who are you meaning to send these to no one it's just like a but like i don't even know how i do it but it's like it's in like the left bottom side of the tiktok page and there's just a button that like just automatically sends it to somebody and my somebody just happens to be oh my god that's so weird i'm like how did this default setting get made like we've never messaged each other on tiktok before but now she is i have unsent them all before she has seen them but now she she could have seen the really dark places that my mind goes to at least she's cool you know i know and it wouldn't be somebody that'd be like she's so booked and busy she's not even looking
Starting point is 00:10:01 No, she's not checking TikTok. You guys, she was on Project Runway. And I was like, oh, this is so exciting. Hannah and Paige are going to be on Project Runway. They were there for no reason. They were there just so Project Runway could say they were going. They went in the workroom. Hannah made two jokes and they left.
Starting point is 00:10:16 They weren't guest judges. They didn't propose a challenge. They just needed them. Like Project Runway needed them. They made one circle. And I was like, damn, that is popularity. When they're like, we want you to come to just do nothing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:30 yeah can't wait to do anything couldn't be us okay um my good week is that i am justin and i are the lead hosts for the emmy awards for live from e this year which is so exciting it's on september 14th it's on a monday now i uh becca was just speaking about like she got to a point where she like is not okay like with the downkeep of you know what i mean Like, so I had, I had a low maintenance summer, right? Like I haven't shaved my legs. I have, my eyebrows are like everywhere. Um, I haven't had facial as we know after the haircut, I just kind of left myself alone.
Starting point is 00:11:11 Like I have very short square nails right now. Like I just have not been Kelty night. I've just been Kelty. Kelty's been traveling. Kelty's at the lake cabin. Kelty was like having fun with her friends. Casual Kelty. Casual Kelty.
Starting point is 00:11:23 Now I got to roll back into like being Kelty night. it was so funny. I was with my mom and she was like, okay, well, and I was like, no, I'm going to go get my hair colored the proper color. I got to, you know, figure out what I'm going to do with it. I, you know, rat like all the things. It looks great by the way. What are you going to do with it? I'm going to continue to grow out my bangs. Do you think it looks great? I do. I like it. Thanks. I think it's such a look. Okay. I, I would, I think that the color's a little dishwashery. so I do want to put some like bigger lighter blonde in it just to make it pop and a little root shadow yeah because the root it's like it's coming it's all one color okay anyway long story
Starting point is 00:12:02 short so now I get to start thinking about a dress and what I'd like to do today um is have you guys before I pull the trigger on this dress I'm going to show it to you so here's the thing the Emmys are on a Monday. It is very hot, very, very, very, very hot. And I believe that new Kelty Knight is maybe out of her glitter dress era because last year, um, the only time I didn't wear glitter dress was at the golden gloves. It was red. And everyone was like, Oh my God, you look so amazing. And someone else picked that dress for me. I did not pick it myself. I picked all the other glittery dresses. So I found this dress that I really love online. I want to wear baby pink in honor of my book. I know this is so ridiculous. Baby Pink is such a choice. It's such a weird
Starting point is 00:12:47 choice. It's not even in the color wheel. But do you remember when Sarah Highland wore like kind of a full, you guys won't remember, but many years ago she wore a full kind of ball skirt and it was orange. It's like a high-waisted ball skirt. And then she wore a little crop top, kind of white crop top tank top. Didn't Taylor Swift do the same thing? Kind of the same thing. So this is the vibe I'm thinking and my stylist found someone who will make it for me and I think it could be really cool it has pockets so it's basically like a baby pink and I'll do like I'll be more blonde I'll probably have like a slicked hair really pretty pinky makeup it's like a high-waisted kind of low-waisted ball skirt with pockets and then like high-waisted low-waisted yeah so it goes
Starting point is 00:13:32 high-waisted drop waist. Okay, I'm going to show you. So this is the sketch. It's like a high-waisted drop waist kind of ball skirt. I don't like the bottom of it. I think it should just fall instead of being like- Is this a custom dress you're getting made? Yeah, it'd be custom. And then like a little top. Wait, what happened with, is this replacing that one dress that you got scammed on? No, the scam dress is for the Grammys. Becca, you are gone. You're having a baby. I sent $2,000 to a foreign country to get a dress made and we're not sure if it's ever going to show up long do you think this is too childish for me if you're doing i don't know i haven't picked the fabric yet but like it would be kind of like this was the inspo sorry this is the inspo
Starting point is 00:14:15 but i could also do like a t-shirt i don't mean this is too much belly there's like a lot of belly on this girl skirt skirt sick yeah like that kind of skirt maybe where it's a little shorter in the front. I don't know. Let me think about this because I think what it is, is that you do need it to be an edgier silhouette if you're going to do such a sweet color. Right. I agree. And the silhouette maybe is a little too sweet. Yes. But if you do the skirt less full, so what she showed for people listening, it is a fuller skirt after the drop waist, it goes to a full like cupcake skirt yeah to the floor but if you went straight down like a more of a column that's like a little bit more of a sophisticated silhouette like a this which is like a straight but not so not so
Starting point is 00:15:06 like tailored do you know what I mean like a like just kind of let it fall versus putting something underneath it to poof it poof it yeah do you think a poofy skirt is lame on a 44 year old no no i love that skirt that you just showed there's one that's like a little wasted yeah maybe i just need an edgy top yeah like some it's hard out here for a girl the emmys is a really difficult dress to get dressed i'm not paying the mech alley to pay two thousand dollars to rent a dress and i was like this is a waste of money so i'm gonna get things custom made that people will make it and i'll just have to pay for the money or pay for the stuff but the emmys is so hard because there's so many casts. So it's like everyone and their mom has a dress and there's
Starting point is 00:15:50 just like nothing left for me. Um, and it's my first time as like really doing interviews at the Emmys. So I want it to be special and I wanted to be pink to go with the book. So anyway, if anyone has any good ideas, please let me know. Okay. Gracias mi amor. Um, okay. So my bad week is that I, I did something, um, two weeks ago, I went up to Canada and I spent time at my parents' lake house, which I haven't been to in probably 10 years. And when I was a kid, I hated this lake house because we'd go up there all summer. And I was like in the middle of nowhere. I wanted to be in New York city. I wanted to be dancing. I wanted to be around people. And I went up there and there was no service, like basically no cell phone service.
Starting point is 00:16:33 There's no wifi. And I spent four days being unperceived by anyone, not emailing, not texting, not a thing, didn't know it was going up on the internet. And it was the greatest four days of my life. I, I think that my bad week is that I, I, I may be close to going in a hole and not existing anymore. No, don't. Okay. I know this is crazy, but I have our next, our next venture and it doesn't require any of us to be perceived oh i love that and i'm just gonna say right now because i had an aberration is that no i have you had an epiphany i had a vision and i have a meeting on thursday with i know that our next venture is going to be perfect for us to be at lake houses with no service
Starting point is 00:17:27 for the rest of our lives with gray hair. Please God, please God. I just feel great about this. I don't know why it's not the way I felt about anything else we've ever done. I just know that this is gonna be the thing. So don't worry, you do not need to be perceived anymore. Can't wait to learn what this thing is.
Starting point is 00:17:44 I know, I can't wait to learn what we're doing. Okay. Well, remember when we went on that wild ride of lady world? Like it's gonna be like that where I just hold my hand and trust me. Okay. And it turned out amazing. It did.
Starting point is 00:17:56 It didn't make any money. That's fine. I mean, we lost money, but it was great. It was a beautiful success. It's great. It was a great success. Okay. When we come back, we're playing an episode of Like, Love, Loathe.

This is an episode that we like to do every once in a while because girls are always asking us like, what are you watching? What do you like?
Starting point is 00:22:22 Send us a link. And it's a really great way for us to share with the Lady Gang community what we're into. So who wants to go first? I guess me. Okay. No, actually, let's do our likes. Jack, what's your first like? Yeah, I think we should go around. Oh, yeah. My like is my Oura ring. I got an Oura ring a month ago. Welcome to 2026. What's wrong with you? Well, you know, it actually is so crazy. It took me this long. So I obviously have self-diagnosed
Starting point is 00:22:54 OCD and a lot of health anxiety. And my thing with that is it's different than I feel like a lot of people with health anxiety, like I need to know everything like information is my God. So the more information that I know about my body and my health, the, the more, um, like I feel, you feel, yeah, the calmer I feel. Um, so the aura ring has been so nice. I love checking information. I love getting up in the morning being like, what was my sleep score? Does it even matter? What is your sleep score? Uh, we'll see. I think it might be lying. Cause it says really good like i have been getting in like the the high 80s this is your problem is you're healthy you're wonderful you're beautiful and your body and your mind is saying no no i know now the aura
Starting point is 00:23:45 ring is saying bitch you're sleeping you're fine yeah yeah no but see that's why i like it because i'm like maybe i am sleeping i mean i do take trazodone i take sleeping meds but i'm like the more information that i learn about myself the more that i learn that i am healthy and that i'm not dying. So like, I really like the Oura ring. And then also I, um, have accidentally been doing the 10,000 step challenge because I didn't realize how many steps I take putzing around my house. Yeah. So, um, it's really nice and I, I really like it. So that's my like of the month. I support that. Thanks. I like it. Um, my like is, I don't know if by the time people are listening, they're going to hear it, but one of our new sponsors, this is not part of the sponsorship
Starting point is 00:24:27 deal is I was targeted for, I don't know, maybe 15. I don't know how long this brand has been out a long time on Instagram, but for some reason it's one of the ones I'm not like a trigger happy person when I'm targeted on Instagram. Thank goodness. But I should have been with this merit beauty guys. We've been asleep at the wheel. I am so mad. The things I have caved in, bought, have always been such a letdown. I'm going to tell you, they sent us, listen, they did send this. This was free. I didn't end up buying it, but I will be buying it for the rest of my life. There's this stick. I love the stick. What is it called? The concealer? Yes. It looks like a big chunky crayon. It's a crayon for your under eyes. Yes, your under eye,
Starting point is 00:25:17 But then you can also just put it in places where you want like a little extra coverage. It's so good for mature skin. But it's also, I'm also very skeptical of shade finders on websites because I never get the right shade sent to me, even though I answer all the questions like, what color are your veins? Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. They didn't ask that on this one. It was a very simple, like two second quiz.
Starting point is 00:25:40 Also, you get your results without having to give them your email, which is another thing which annoys me out of me. Yeah. So I got my color and I'm like, yeah, we'll see how good this is. Guys, it is my second skin. There is literally, the match is matching. The texture is beautiful. The brush that it came with.
Starting point is 00:25:59 And I don't know if I'll ever wear a different thing on my face again. No, it's so good. It's called like the, can someone tell me the name of it? I just had it and then I closed it out of the thing. Wow. Perfecting concealer. The minimalist. minimalist minimalist perfecting complexion foundation and concealer stick it is a tongue
Starting point is 00:26:19 twister okay well yeah the minimalist yeah stunning great okay my like of the week is i have a new television show and it is so random you know i only watch competition shows because i'm a competitive bitch and then i like i said i went to the cabin and my mom was watching this And I was like, wait, I'm obsessed. Okay, this is very random. It's on USA Network. Okay. I know, because we had cable up there.
Starting point is 00:26:48 It's called Anna Pigeon. So I guess there was these books, which I love a book series, but basically this chick is like living in the city and her husband dies and she like flees. It's like what I want to be. She flees the city as like, you know, to get out of her ghosts and like her grief.
Starting point is 00:27:07 and she ends up in the wilderness and then when she's in the wilderness she starts uncovering mysteries is this a Canadian show no it's an American show okay and it reminds me of do you remember and I don't know if this is a core memory for anyone else do you guys remember Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman yeah yes okay it's a little Dr. Quinny except she's not like healing people from like accidents she's like solving mysteries but she's she's very cute and she's like a ranger and she's out in the world and she's like I don't know it's one of those shows where it's like kind of like heart of Dixie like where you could just you watch it forever it's an easy watch and I think it's really cute and I don't know if it's just because I was in Canada that I loved it so much
Starting point is 00:27:52 but I actually think it's adorable so and a pigeon and a pigeon a pigeon okay I just started watching Parks and Recreation again, which I highly recommend. So good. Oh, so good. Okay, Jack, what's your love? My love is Robert Pattinson. Now, I was never. Were you a Twilight girl? No. I mean, I watched it and I'd be like everybody. You're like Robert Pattinson's hot, like whatever. They've been doing the rounds for like the Odyssey movie, like the press rounds. And he. Did you guys see it? I know. I know Becca didn't. Jack, did you see it? No. Jared without me i know it's great oh i know i need to see it but anyways they've been doing the press rounds and he is so funny funny well and then also obviously the new the catch a predator movie
Starting point is 00:28:38 is coming out that looks so good like he has nailed down chris hansen to a t um but yeah in all the pressings he's like so silly he doesn't take anything seriously he's like constantly just making jokes. And I am just so newly and insanely attracted to him. I'm sorry. I need to go back. They're making a To Catch a Predator movie. How have you not seen the trailer? It's amazing. I have never seen it. You know the story of me getting asked to be a decoy on To Catch a Predator. No. No. Yes. When? A guy, when I was living in New York, I was probably 19. And this guy that I knew, I shouldn't say his name but he was one of the decoys name him name him name him um I'm not you'll see why I'm not naming him so he was he was doing we're we were in acting school and so I
Starting point is 00:29:30 guess that's where they farmed a lot of the talent so he was doing it and they had asked him do you know anybody who else a girl who we could use that's looks young blah blah blah blah and so he recommended me and then it was I was considering it but then I was really scared I was really freaked out I was like I don't know I don't like this feels too dangerous to me whatever yeah so I think I had like a producer meeting whatever whatever but then this friend of mine had one of the one of the episodes gone wrong where where the predator went left after he was caught and ended his own life wait so okay so the reason why to catch a predator went off air is because they went to the they like got the guy and he ended up killing himself like inside the house and what was
Starting point is 00:30:20 it that i think it happened more than once but that was a that was definitely why this guy that i knew stopped doing it because it got very dark because the person left they got the sting operation when went out went down yeah he excused himself and somehow managed to oh my god no jared and I were talking about it last night because it was like being one of the decoys is so dangerous because it's like obviously they have like the production or whatever but what if the person had a gun and came in and just like shot the I mean that it's that was such a crazy show but the movie looks so good it's 824 he is such a good character actor it's like insane because like he doesn't look like Chris Hansen at all yeah and uh yeah well I mean he's married to
Starting point is 00:31:09 suki waterhouse right yeah yeah i mean she's been with some hot guys she's with bradley cooper like she's only gonna be with hotties our pats is so much hotter than bradley cooper well now yeah and he's he just never found him attractive i was team jacob i know really i didn't get it i didn't just see you when you were alone listen if you go back and watch her twilight movies the makeup no offense to this makeup artist there he's so pasty like i know they made him pasty because he's supposed to be a vampire, but he's dry. Like, someone give him a Nivea. He's dry.
Starting point is 00:31:42 Like, he needs a moisturizer. It was definitely powder. Too matte. He's too matte. He needed some road cleansing milk or whatever the fuck that is. Like, we can be pale, but still look like it's skin and not paper. But anyway, okay. No, I think the, yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:54 Okay. Not to be a commercial, but I actually had my love be my new merit lipstick. So I had talked about this on another episode, but I am going to bring back the 2004 look, because I am, uh, um, I am trying to not be so hard on myself. And I think that instead of picking apart my eyes and my wrinkles and my hair and everything about me, if I just wear a bright lipstick, that's all people will see. And I started seeing, especially in Paris, all these girls and they just have their like pretty skin and their funky glasses on and their cute outfits
Starting point is 00:32:30 and like a bright red lipstick. It really is Parisian. But I was like, I don't know. And then what happened is I got the website for merit and I went there like what colors do you want and I was like I could just get another beige lipstick which I have a hundred of and then I was like I literally thought what would Becca Tobin do and I was like she would get the bitchy red so this is hold on and it's called kitten heel but it's a lip blush is that what you're wearing no this is gamma g-a-m-a-y is the color that I did really pretty but it kind of looks blurred I'm showing mine yeah it's like blurring so it's not like a lipstick it's kind of like we should charge merit like triple for this i know i'm like this is honestly what the fuck anyway i just loved it
Starting point is 00:33:09 and i literally brought it out because it's my love i'll link it in the newsletter becca what's yours look how pretty that is why don't you have lipstick on because mine's over there she's like i'm too busy like you kind of you kind of go around the new thing is like you know we did the lined lips for so long the line and like 17 oh i always smudge the overline like i'm so the overline is so dumb you guys i don't know why now you kind of smudge it it's like i've been an overliner and then on the e-poster i was so overlined and they it wasn't blended correctly and you could literally see the line and it drove me it's so weird on instagram when i look at girls doing their own makeup and they do this beautiful makeup everything is perfect and then they overline their lips and
Starting point is 00:33:48 i'm like that's literally like having a bra strap hanging out of a beautiful outfit you know what mean it's like this weird panty line anyways um my love is threads you guys oh i saw you posting is where all the funny people are and the i mean everyone is so cunty and everybody is just so witty you know when they say you have like a face for radio now it's like you have a face for threads because it is where the true personalities are and i'm obsessed okay obsessed if your algorithm you got to get right in the good, good algorithm. And it's chef's kiss. Threads is so such a relief to everyone that doesn't want to have to edit a reel. Yes. Like it's like early MySpace. It's AIM away messages. It is early Twitter. It is like you just want to read about something like
Starting point is 00:34:44 talk about a book, talk about a show. Just sometimes I just want to make a comment. I just want to make a comment on life without having to record myself making a video. And I also think it is better for my mental health to just be on threads. I don't need to see everyone's faces and I definitely don't need to see any more of my own face. And it is a relief. I actually just went viral on threads. You did? What does it mean to go viral? I know. Like I had a thread go viral, which is like i don't know you started the thread i i started the thread and it if it gets shared or viewed more than 50 000 times you get like a clop so my viral thread is normalized being insanely ambitious and also needing to lay down for one full day each month and bed rot oh yeah that was
Starting point is 00:35:32 a good one and then everyone was like one day per month and then people were like how about six days per week like everyone went crazy so anyway um yeah are you on x kelty no me either are you well that's well no that's lawless over there yeah no i think it's where we don't want to be i think it's a darker place it's very dark i mean yeah i really do love threats okay love thank you okay was i viral if one of my comments went got seven over 7 000 likes no she said so what did you say that you got after 50 a clop what is it you get like a not a clop you get like a notification you said clop i did clops not a word i know uh we are aware that's why i thought it was a new threads thing like i got a clop like i clapped your hands when you did it so i was like oh is
Starting point is 00:36:28 like a i got a clop okay this episode of lady gang is brought to you by amazon music so here's the deal we know you like to listen to stuff you listen to podcasts you listen to music and you love an audiobook and you probably prefer a central hub for all of your listening and that is why our friends at amazon music have us cover amazon music is your one app for music podcasts and now audiobooks that's right audiobooks are now included in your amazon music unlimited subscription. Starting point is 00:39:27 Okay, so my loathe is the fact that stores are already putting their Halloween shit out now in August. I have a problem when we're trying to change the seasons too fast. Let us live in the rest of summer. and then when it turns I feel like after Labor Day is an appropriate time to now transition into spooky season I don't need an October but I need the summer to end first and I don't like that it makes me feel anxious I want to live out the the months we have it's also 100 degrees out in California it's not spooky feeling yet that is it's like give me a second yeah I'm surprised they don't have valentine's day put out well they probably have christmas already because i get it
Starting point is 00:40:12 it's like consumerism capitalism we're just trying to like sell all the shit but i'm like i like just let me let me go to the beach one more time i know there's a lot of moms that i've just like listened to on podcasts or like instagram they're like oh my god i can't believe summer's over and i'm just thinking it's early august it's not over bitches but some kids are back in school right now, which is crazy. That's crazy. Sucks. When does Ford go to school? He goes back end of August, which is very late for us in Texas. So we didn't go back until like September when we were younger. Yeah. Remember the cutoff to be in the next grade was September 1st because that's like around the time that school started. But I guess now they have shorter summers and they have more
Starting point is 00:40:58 breaks like fall break and blah, blah, blah, blah. And I just think it's stupid. I want longer summers i know and send those bitches to school and as a mother now that i know i'm like don't give them more breaks don't give us more trips we have to plan don't give me more four-day weekends where prices on airfare are eight million dollars yeah and make me like parent my kid for an extra two days out of no no i get it um becca before you loathe i want to tell you something i actually had another like or love and i want to share it with you guys share look what i made what is that bandana is that an applicant oh that's cute did you crochet that knit it I love knitting I'm back into knitting I'm knitting so hard this is my first one it's the color of dishwater but I'm
Starting point is 00:41:43 gonna make better colors this was my practice I found this cute little thing online it's like a it's the shape of a bandana but it's a tiny little knit and I'm gonna make them and isn't that so cute I'm gonna wear it I mean the color's ugly but I'm gonna make a black one now I'm really into a bandana because of old lady chest and it's like you know it doesn't go with these overalls that i'm wearing right now but i think this would be really cute i'm bringing back scarves scarf and a red lip for fall that's all i'm wearing i'm bringing up all of my old 2004 scarves wow i can't believe you still have those i have a scarf that i got at h&m like when i was in new york city becca you've probably seen me wear it a hundred years i wore it as a sarong i've worn around my
Starting point is 00:42:27 neck. It's been to everything. And that bitch is still my favorite scarf. Wow. I've tried so many times to be a scarf person and it is not for me. You know, it'd be cute on you, Jack. Sorry. If you did a scarf, but you tuck your hair, it's very, if you guys need fashion inspiration, which clearly I do. Copenhagen fashion week, forget Paris, forget New York. These Scandi bitches are giving it to us. And by the way, guess what? You remember last year I reported on the sailor hat becoming a hat a Copenhagen week. Guess what it is this week? Thank God, just in time for my bad haircut. It's wearing bandanas. Oh, I was just going to say you should make, when I went to New York for, oh, bandanas on the hair. On the head. Bandana heads. I mean, that's been around for a long time.
Starting point is 00:43:12 In the winter, this past winter, when I went to New York for my birthday, I was like, oh, I need some like scarf or like, you know, it's going to be freezing. You've seen the hoods, like the separate hoods. You should knit one of those because those are chic. okay anyway okay sorry now go back to loathing um okay i loathe i loathe any trend on instagram that is like a way for people to humble brag it is just i know what you're gonna say i know all the ones i've done recently i actually it's kind of chic no because right no no no you guys haven't been annoying about it. It's not, it's not you guys. It's listen, it's people who take any, any opportunity, any trend to turn it into a humble brag. So it's, you know, Jax, yours was,
Starting point is 00:44:04 yours were cute. Like, and I think what we did for, um, natural cycles was really cute too. Cause it's just like us being normal girls, you know, saying that like normal things are chic and not chic things are chic. It's like, I'm sick of the, it's kind of chic to build a business at 26 and sell it for $2 billion. It's kind of chic. It's kind of chic to fly first class. It's kind of chic to have not flown commercial in six years. It's kind of chic to get asked to speak at 17 conferences for this year.
Starting point is 00:44:31 Like, shut the fuck up. Yeah, shut the fuck up. Shut the fuck up, Sarah. Yeah, I agree. Show me your bank account, Sarah. I agree. Okay, mine weren't like that. No, it's people who abuse it.
Starting point is 00:44:45 It's people who just take, ugh, it's so annoying. I went the opposite. I do them and I'm like kind of chic to post every day and lose eight followers every time I post. Yeah, self-deprecating. I need self-deprecation. Thank you. Ugh, these stupid dum-dums. I hate that the fact that the only way to get your posts seen on Instagram is to do these stupid, stupid trends.
Starting point is 00:45:07 It's like, I guess I can't post anything I care about deeply in my soul anymore. It's only just a stupid trend. Don't you dare. But here I am. Don't you dare. Okay. I loathe McDonald's Canada. I want to tell you something about, there's a few things in Canada that are Bible. Okay. Hockey, Celine Dion, Wayne Gretzky, please and thank you, and poutine okay uh-huh poutine is a canadian delicacy it is a thick cut steak fry with a gravy
Starting point is 00:45:49 a brown gravy and curds cheese curds delicious it will it will give you diarrhea bloating or diarrhea either way one of the two you're getting it and you know that before you sit down for your poutine. And the thing about poutine, the poutine is a slow roll. Poutine is, you know, when you go to an Italian restaurant and you eat the pasta and as you're eating it, it's filling you and you're like, oh my God, I'm getting full. Poutine is a slick Rick. Poutine doesn't make you feel full until you're walking out. Like then it hits you and you're like, oh, I ate the whole poutine. So while I was in Canada, I had multiple poutines, um, from my poutine dealer, which is New York Fries. So there's a company in Canada that's not available in the States called New York Fries,
Starting point is 00:46:37 which makes sense. And they make a delicious poutine and I have it every time I go to Canada and it was fabulous. Then I went up to my parents' house and they're like, hey, we finally got a restaurant in the town. And I was like, oh my God, we're going for the restaurant. They're like, yeah, it's Wings and Onion Rings Wednesday. I get to Wings and Onion Rings Wednesday. P.S. the place is so shitty that literally the chair that I'm sitting on, the filling of the chair is coming out. Like the new restaurant. No, it's new. I'm like, well, I haven't been there in 10 years. Maybe it's not new, but like the chairs are, everything's falling apart. Like this place is a shithole, but the best onion ring I've ever had in my life. Anyway, I see on the menu poutine.
Starting point is 00:47:16 I was like, dad, you undersold this. There's a poutine. This poutine was bigger than Jack's entire body. And I ate the whole thing. It was delicious. So then I get back to Edmonton and I was like, God, I only have two days left. I only have time to eat one more poutine. And I decide I really want a McDonald's Diet Coke to be delivered to my brother's house. I was like, well, I'm getting my Diet Coke delivered. I may as well get McDonald's poutine. McDonald's, you McDonald's Canada, you little bitch. I want you to listen to me, McDonald's Canada. unacceptable what you're doing to something so important to canadians national treasure how dare it's like you murdered celine dion mcdonald's is an american company of course it
Starting point is 00:48:03 sucks don't blame canada for this but all over international locations they have their delicacies and they're all amazing japan has their amazing is a stretch but yes yes okay i think it's amazing This poutine, first of all, can you imagine a world, sorry that I have to really be serious about this, guys. Can you imagine a world where a McDonald's fry, it's a shoestring fry, which is already not acceptable, fine. But I get that that's what they make. So they're going to, you know,
Starting point is 00:48:28 it comes out of the fryer and they don't salt it. It's just a fry. There's none of the, if you're going to make a McDonald's poutine, I'm expecting salt. How can you even get a McDonald's fry without salt on it? The salt level of a McDonald's fry plus the gravy plus the curds. No. then the gravy is no i i know it's a powder that's fine you put a shredded cheese oh no this is not a
Starting point is 00:48:54 curd sorry i'm so upset about this it was a shredded cheese it was so rinky dink it came in a little box i've never been more disappointed anything in my life i may never go back to McDonald's, American, Japan, Canada, Europe. Again, I am so mad at McDonald's. Mick, Ronald McDonald is rolling over in his grave. Grimace is not grimacing anymore. I have a question for you about gravy. Is there, is there meat?
Starting point is 00:49:25 Is there an animal? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Just wondering. I feel like, as a vegetarian, what is the meat? It's, yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:35 So poutine is, I know, I don't think about it, but it's kind of like the French onion soup where it's like, I also, I'm the number one allergy on my allergy test is always bovine, which is crazy. And I'm like, I haven't had meat in forever. And then I'm like, oh, I did have these like hair pills and then also like some French onion soup and a poutine. Yeah. It's a brown gravy.
Starting point is 00:49:58 It's definitely meaty, but it's, yeah, doing it for the iron, guys. It says that it's, you know, it's actually not that meaty. It's with a beef or a chicken broth. That's fine. Yeah. It's usually made with like when you cook a chicken, it's all of the juices from the chicken. Well, you guys are probably, I'm a very bad vegetarian, but I also wanted to let you know that since I had my hysterectomy, I have been having chicken broth as well. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:50:25 Congrats. Yeah. No, I know it's weird. I'm a bad vegetarian. um it's because I really need the protein and basically my nutritionist was like if you don't want to be an old crotchety lady that's huddled over in a corner you better put some protein in your body and I was like okay so the only way I make it I make like ichiban noodles you know like the and I instead of water I use the chicken broth that's good and it's from a special company
Starting point is 00:50:53 called Brodo, which they make like high protein chicken broth. Um, and yeah. And then I'm lifting like heavy, heavy, heavy, heavy, heavy weights right now, which is annoying. I actually, when I was at my parents' cabin, I lifted, um, my dad, you know, we have like water jugs that we bring in the water and they're like these huge water jugs. And I was like, I don't have any weights. And I started doing like workout with the water jug. I was like, God, you really can't, there really are no excuses you know you know you're like I can't work out I don't have a weight you didn't film that like I just I'm really proud of you that you didn't like I check this out and you know what is helping is knitting and I just want to say this to anyone who's like over screened
Starting point is 00:51:35 like I'm knitting now when I watch tv I'm knitting on the phone I'm knitting like I could never sit and like just visit with my parents it would drive me bananas because I need to be doing something Yeah. But if you're knitting, you'll small talk forever. I can small talk for hours because I'm just busy. I need to learn to knit. Just anything with your hands. And then you don't have your phone and you're not like swipe, swipe, swipe. It was delicious. Anyway. Okay. This was so fun. I love you guys and love our lips. Love you, Jack. You're so beautiful. Love you, Becca. Thanks for making time with the babies. So beautiful. And we will. See you next Tuesday. Oh, and if you want any of the links of anything we talked about, it's going to be in the newsletter.
