Starting point is 00:00:00 It's time for a quickie. Podcast One presents The Lady Gang, The Hollywood Girl Posse with Lady Gang Quickie. Here's Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek. Let's make this quick. Hello, Lady Gang. Welcome to the best of Good Week, Bad Week, Part One. Now, so many of you have been saying to us, we really want our friend that's not in the Lady Gang to listen, but she doesn't know where to start.
Starting point is 00:00:28 And so we created this because this is the Lady Gang in a nutshell. One of us lights our hair on fire. One of us has Ian Salmohander's phone. One of us is an egomaniac. One of us, you know, pooped while holding a baby. And that just really feels like it's Lady Gang in a nutshell. So if you've ever wanted to introduce someone in your life to Kelty, Becca, or Jack, this is the perfect opportunity.
Starting point is 00:00:54 And I hope that you will laugh along with us, reliving some of our best good week and bad weeks of all time. We'll see you next Tuesday. I will tell you my good week, which is, um, I, you know, in December we, we took a little bit of time off and so I haven't been able to gloat about this. And it's been so long since I've had something to gloat about that. I just, I really have to say it. I was featured in, um, domino magazine and, um, I was featured by my new name, which is
Starting point is 00:01:23 podcast host. It was my first press that's ever not said TV personality. So that was like a gut punch. Um, it just been demoted down to podcast host. But, um, I know Becca, you did a room with them, but Havenly did my living room for me. And I finally completed one room in my house and they sent the pictures to Domino and they did a whole interview with me about like how I made the room when I didn't really do anything. Havenly did it all. But, um, I was so excited that I have one room done and photographed. It was so beautiful. It was a wonderful experience. I just want to say thanks to Havenly. And also thank you to Domino for making me feel like such a famous person slash podcast host. Love that. I do think that Havenly is one of the most genius
Starting point is 00:02:07 things on the planet. I know. It really is. Even me who all I do, like I literally on New Year's Eve deleted every Instagram that I follow. I'm only following houses and pets now. And all I do spend time on houses so i could just copy them but it's like nice to have a person to work with you know oh yeah havenly can't wait to work with you when i get a house yeah let's go let's go all right do it um i got a really wonderful uh dm just when you think you've lost it i got a message from janet hello becca you have an amazing profile and i think it would be perfect for only fans content. I would love to talk to you about becoming a creator on our platform. Only fans is a great place for you to monetize off the content you're already creating. She sent me
Starting point is 00:02:59 an only fans slash how actors use only fans, whatever, uh, hyperlink. Um, so there you have it guys i could be posting all this riveting content for more money topless yeah i'm like does she know what kind of content you're putting out i thought i'm like i just fed my dog a tortilla chip on stories nobody is paying five dollars a month for that but if you did it topless i sure would i thought they took the sex out of only fans i think maybe allegedly can you really police that i don't know because can't you send direct isn't that what only fans was literally only yeah only fans only nudity fans and i'm not knocking it i think it's incredible no it's people make so much so much money on only fans and yeah and i'm just flattered that they thought i could be
Starting point is 00:03:52 one of them so that was my good week why don't you just put your fappening photos on only fans you could probably make a lot of money off that that's true exclusive they're not exclusive oh my god so my good week and i posted a tiktok about this so if this is not new for both of you guys just i need your feedback anyways okay um i was going through the tiktoks as i usually do and sometimes you know you get the random people popping up and ian summerholder popped up on my page and it said on his thing from your contacts so somewhere some way along the line of living I have Ian Somerhalder's phone number in my phone. Is it under the contacts, Ian?
Starting point is 00:04:37 I looked under the Ians in my phone, and I have an Ian from Bumble. Is it him? No. Are you sure? It's actually the last thing I pulled up is Ian, because I was trying to find. There's Ian with a Bumble sign. There's Ian, this guy that used to be in the cab, and another Ian that used to be in a different band. And that's the only Ians I have.
Starting point is 00:04:58 What happens if you type in the number? I don't know the number. She doesn't know it. It just says from your contacts. So now I'm like, what if he got a new phone number and whoever owned his old number is you had their number? That would be the weirdest coincidence. That would be so weird.
Starting point is 00:05:18 So weird. I don't know what it is, but now I'm like, I'm trying to rack my brain. I'm like, I feel like I would know if I knew him, especially because Lost is one of my favorite TV shows of all time. I don't think he's on Lost. Yes, he was. He was on the first two seasons of Lost. Wasn't he on Vampire? Did he die? He left Lost. His character got killed off of Lost. How? Because he started... Jog my memory. I can't remember. Was it the smoke monster? No, it was before smoke monster. Okay, because that's when Lost got bad. What? Yeah, no, he was on the first
Starting point is 00:05:48 two seasons. He was John Locke's understudy. I loved him so much and that would have been the time. John Locke's had an understudy? He was like John Locke's like best friend. He was like learning to love the Island. Like John Locke loved the Island, but then he got killed off. I don't need to go into loss. Okay. But that's during the time that I feel like I would have probably met him was during lost. And I would have known you would have remembered. I would have remembered. It wasn't like he was a random guy. I think, excuse me. I think they have started giving out phone numbers too quickly because that's insane. There's someone who has my old phone number that I didn't get rid of that long ago. And people
Starting point is 00:06:25 keep telling me when i see them in person that they've texted my old number and someone has gotten back to them and being like oh my god for the love of god this is not becca no yes yes that is so insane i feel like you're doing they shouldn't do it there's enough numbers to go it's a 917 number and i think people really want those they're hot hot commodity because it's like the og new york number so i think maybe somebody fought for it real hard well they got what they fought for they got my old number with a lot of weird people i fight for a phone number is yes don't you remember carrie bradshaw got a new cell phone number and it was around the time that they were running out of 917 cell phones 646 and she's like 646 what is this yeah oh the new new
Starting point is 00:07:09 york okay maybe that's what it is i'm having a major issue with two new york numbers not to interrupt this but i still have my same phone number that i've had since i got it illegally Lena Bodega when I was illegally living in New York city. Um, and I really need to know what day I got divorced on. It's very important to me. I am doing some citizenship stuff and I have no idea what day I got divorced on. I do know that somewhere along the lines of 2010, my ex-husband called me and was like, do you have the divorce paperwork? And I assumed he was getting remarried. And so I mailed it to him. I didn't keep a copy for me. Cause I was like, when will I ever need this like an idiot now i can't process the thing without knowing my divorce date it's very difficult
Starting point is 00:07:52 when you don't know your divorce date to find your divorce date anyway with the phone number is that where is where is this going it's going to i think he has the same phone number too and i've texted multiple times he's not responding oh just tell me what day we got divorced another way you can find this out it's very difficult if it gets filed like do you have it you must have like an approximate date i put in an approximate date and just well this is like how i still don't know what time ford was born is it not on his birth certificate it is but i don't i can't find that thing yeah it's already lost it's been four months yeah anyway yeah it's just hard okay anyway sorry okay well that's my good week um just maybe if anyone out there knows what day i got divorced
Starting point is 00:08:34 on anyone knows when ian summerholder got this current phone number just let us know i just want to make sure that i didn't black out for a period of my life that i might have had sex with him Oh God. I'm sure you would have remembered. I'm sure he would have made you remember. I remember being somewhere where he was telling me how lucrative the wine business was. Cause he has like a wine list. I don't know. And I was like, I'm pretty sure it's the least lucrative business you can have. It's actually like almost impossible to make money from wine, but whatever. Yeah. Uh, my good week is that tomorrow, which is going to be Monday, which is going to be yesterday from when you're hearing this. Oh my God. Jesus. I'm exhausted. I have no idea where
Starting point is 00:09:13 we are um i'm going to vermont with jared i'm very excited about it i've never been to vermont before i've always had it on my bucket list to go during like the leaf changing season in the fall where we can drink cider and like drive around and like do the whole thing and then we're gonna go to salem over the weekend which i've also always wanted to do because i can you know see all the witch the grave sites of all of the poor uh victim witches that were um executed and i just think it's going to be great and i'm so excited to go only jack vanek is like i got off tour and you know what i'll where i'll go vermont to see some witches like i'm like i got off tour i won't be leaving my house till the holiday i know well listen i also wanted to do that but i'm like this
Starting point is 00:09:55 is my one little this i was telling becca earlier i'm like i don't even know next year where am i going to be in october i don't know i'm like this we got this one week jared's already on the east coast yeah so i'm like i'm taking advantage of it and it's gonna be chill i'm not gonna get black this is your best manicure i'm sorry you're just using your hands and i'm isn't it it's a really good manicure oh my god i found it well bren my friend bren told me about this place in new york i went to the upper east side from brooklyn what's the name of this place i need to go is essa nails on lexington like 40th or something issa no it's up thinking of something else it's like on a second story it's the best manicure i've ever gotten good i know i hate that this
Starting point is 00:10:32 is an audio medium but i couldn't i couldn't help but notice sorry thanks and i was really picking at my cuticles before they were bleeding so she did a good job wow anyways well i'll tell you this about the leaves changing and i know i'm gonna hype it up for you oh i thought you're gonna say it's disappointing no one of the parts of the two years that i spent working on cruise ships i did a saint lawrence seaway cruise that went from new york city up through the saint like montreal ottawa and like down i didn't even know you could put a cruise ship in there i guess it's big enough how do you i have no idea it's big it's like a big lakey yeah it's not a river you know anyway and they do it during the fall yeah because that's what and it is gorgeous and
Starting point is 00:11:15 i'll tell you i have a core memory about crunchy leaves okay like growing up we had seasons in canada right and like the fall was like such a season because you're like battling down for the winter. Yeah. And like the crunchy leaves under your boot is like such a core memory of like a hot chocolate, uh, many layers. Like I'm my best self when I'm wearing three to four layers of clothing. Like I'm not meant to be in a summer tube top. So it's just, it's core memories. I think you're going to have a great time. I'm excited. I'm getting my rent the runway. All my coats shipped there because I didn't have room for them. Wow. Smart. Yeah. Get shipped ship them back home before I even leave and you can wear like a beret and like Taylor Swift no I
Starting point is 00:11:58 don't know I can do it okay does that sound like something I would do wear a beret and listen to Taylor Swift never Taylor Swift's last two records feel like a fall crunchy leaf record that's true maybe I'll listen to that one the one that she did with Bon Iver yeah or whatever yeah yeah that sounds nice the lady gang bad week um i have been um 100 tourist ripped off so this is a little bit old but when i went on my trip i i was like telling adnan my tour guide i was like don't take me to any of the tourist places like i don't want a keychain like i was like i want like a handmade, you know, um, earring or like a handmade, uh, someone knitted it. Like I I'm like, I'm a real like collector of my international travels. And so every white woman who he talks
Starting point is 00:12:58 to on these tours, exactly. So he took me to like a spot and I was like, there's like dead sea mud and there's like stupid shit. And I was like, Oh, I don't know. And then I felt so bad because every time you go into the store, they're like so desperate for you to buy something. Cause the tourism is like really down in that area of the world so i was like i gotta buy something and then i found this like really cute bracelet and this really cute earring and i was like wow this is so beautiful it's my first stop i was like chris what do you think and like i looked at them and they were each like a little bit under a hundred dollars and it's like if i went to zara and bought a pair of like not real gold jewelry i would pay like twelve dollars right so then i was
Starting point is 00:13:32 like chris was like i don't know like do you think it's real silver i was like what is it made of i'm allergic and he's like no it's silver and it had the little silver stamp on it and i was like okay like i'm just gonna support them and i got them and then like when i got i put them away in my bag i got home from the trip and i unwrapped these motherfuckers and i was like this is the shittiest jewelry i've ever seen in my life like it's probably was made in china it is definitely not handmade by a bedouin and i just feel like a loser they're gorgeous and honestly i bought them because becca had beautiful emerald earrings at her wedding and i've always wanted a pair of emerald earrings and this is like a faux emerald but anyway i'm gonna wear them i'll let you know
Starting point is 00:14:13 yeah keep us posted a classic ripoff being walking uh like what is it a uh like a karen but not a karen a sucker yeah like a sucker a walking sucker just every white woman who takes her first vacation to the middle east i know and i was like i really wanted jewelry and then the bad news is i spent so much money on other shitty things that by the time on the last day we actually went shopping and it was like all the amazing things that i found this like gorgeous bangle that was like real gold and it was so beautiful and i was like how much is in there 800 and i was like well i already spent my 200 jewelry budget on this shitty faux emerald from the shitty gas station stop god damn it at least it has a great story when you posted those on
Starting point is 00:15:04 Instagram I did think like this is shitty he's never gonna wear that never not once wasn't really your style that's what happens I mean listen I am gonna I'm judgment is out so I'm not judging you because I basically did the exact same thing in Santa Fe America okay Zach and I were in this one store like downtown and it's amazing Santa Fe's a wonderful place do I want to look like I live there in my house in Texas no but you forget that and you lose your way a little bit and you get seduced by like the great turquoise jewelry textiles yeah i'm like i'm a turquoise yes but then i realized i realized the moment i made that realization was we were in this one store and it was all these beautiful photographs like beautiful native american art and just like
Starting point is 00:15:54 inexpensive really expensive and there's this like white woman from arkansas in there and she's become a collector of these of this artwork and she's certainly she's definitely not native american and she's just chatting the guy's ear off about how she wants to get this as a mate to the her collection that she has and i'm like oh shit she drank the kool-aid and she looks like a dipshit oh and so does kelty it happens all the time everywhere slippery slope my bad week is that i've officially experienced taking a poop while holding a human oh my god like cradling or like what is what's the what's the holding so i had him in the carrier because there's a certain time of the day that he gets really fussy it's kind of between
Starting point is 00:16:57 um like his afternoon bottle and like bath time is at 6 30 so every baby is apparently getting all their energy out through like from the day at that time yes so it's hard to get him chill at that point and they say if you can get them to fall asleep for like 30 minutes it's great so the only way this kid will chill at that time of day is if he's in the carrier because he likes to jostle around a little bit he likes to hear music we play whatever we do our whole rigmarole yeah so i'm doing it and zach leaves to go run some errands because he's sleeping and it's like very peaceful in this and very zen in this house and all of a sudden i have the worst diarrhea cramps happening in my stomach no and i was like well i can't take him out of the carrier he will
Starting point is 00:17:49 scream his face off so i kept him in the carrier i pulled my pants down and with my child on my bosom i proceeded to have a bowel movement and it was very weird it was a weird sensation what was his reaction he slept right through it great wow okay so there you go do you ever have a bowel movement on your phone like when you're on your phone i cannot be on my phone like i'll be on it on Instagram, but I can't talk on my phone. I'm talking like on your phone. Was it a similar sensation to like, I'm doing two things at once? No, no, no. Yeah. Very relaxing to be on my phone and having the bowel movement. This was not relaxing. This was also, you're just trying not to wake him up and then wiping you. He got extra jostled around and, uh, but he slept right
Starting point is 00:18:44 through it, which is great. But this is what women say when they're like, you can say goodbye to ever going to the bathroom by yourself because kids are just always around and it's already started. So Heather ripped the bandaid off somehow. Humbling. Yes. You're going to be so happy to go to New York with us and sleep in a room with all three of us. You'd be like, this is so peaceful. I know. Cause you won't be crying except, you know, I might cry. We don't know. We'll see how the day goes. There's a good possibility. Uh, do you guys remember a couple episodes ago and we were talking about pets or something. And I was saying how I had a pet eel when I was a kid. Do you guys remember this? I hate this story. Yeah, no, you won't hate it
Starting point is 00:19:21 anymore. So my parents listened to this podcast sometimes, which is so crazy. And they came to visit me recently. And on the way up, they listened to that episode of the podcast. And my mom was like, yeah, we listened to the podcast when you were talking about your pet eel. And she's like, you never had a pet eel what i made this memory up i made it up it never happened but i specifically remember name i don't i didn't remember the name probably because it didn't exist i specifically remember having this pet eel i remember exactly where the fish tank was like i remember taking care of it and feeding it i completely made this entire like scope of memories up and now that makes me like really scared for all of the other memories that i have
Starting point is 00:20:09 as a child like are they real or are they imaginary i did i'm not gonna lie i thought it was weird i don't think you can have a pet eel no no it was like mini it was like this big i don't think you can have a mini eel i don't think they exist you can yes they're like you can get these like tiny eels at the fish store right now yeah exactly and that's what i thought i had i didn't think i had like a massive like three foot eel i thought i had like a little eel that was in with the other fish and I still think I do that maybe my mom doesn't remember I feel like if your dad didn't video and it did not happen bingo I need to find this video you guys I swear like I have specific memories but apparently now who knows who knows but like what is real you know what is real real my bad week is
Starting point is 00:20:52 my hair caught on fire um yeah I was in New York I'm gonna preface the story was with that I was not drunk yet when this happened I was at a bar it was this like bougie stupid lounge that was whatever it was hard to get into I don't even know we walked in but we asked them we're like hey do you have spot for three people and they're like yes come on over here and then walk us over to the wall yeah so we had to stand with like a lip on the wall yes for your drink yes with a lip on the wall which came about to here where I was standing and we had to stand in like our three spots like we couldn't really even shift sure so I'm standing against the wall I didn't realize that in this bar they had tea light candles sitting on that ledge perfect angle or perfect
Starting point is 00:21:39 spot where my the back of my hair would touch now I'm talking to Jared and our friend Bryn and out of nowhere Bryn's like oh my god Jack your hair is on fire my hair was engulfed enough for her to see it from behind my shoulder no over so no do you well can you tell shockingly okay i'll explain the story first yeah it was engulfed enough where the flames were going over my shoulder she like like pushes it out on me the whole entire bar is like what the is going on probably smelled awful it smelled awful i was so traumatized and scared that i just looked at jared and i'm like I think I'm gonna start crying and then I just like started like like just waterworks coming out of because then I was touching my hair pulling clumps of hair out. Stingy hair. So it ended up
Starting point is 00:22:31 thank god. Creating a layer. Creating a layer about like I don't even know if you can see it there's like a chunk is pushed back from the mic right now there's a chunk of my hair that's like six inches shorter than the rest of it. Yeah. But I was just so pissed because I was like I've spent three years growing out my hair. Yeah I understand that. And I didn't really I didn't know how much was actually like taken off but thank god it only looks like a little bit of a layer i can't tell it was so scary let me tell you something about burning your hair it is it can go from i got a layer to i can't get married for five years yeah very quickly no you're very lucky jack and i was i feel like pelty had you've your hair's been caught on fire eight million times so many
Starting point is 00:23:13 times it's so different and it really it really scorches it scorches so fast um have you ever seen on on the internet the guy that cuts hair with fire that guy have you seen it no yeah i have i'm like nobody wants this there is i think other than someone else's diarrhea there's no worse smell on the planet than burnt hair and it stays for a long time it's skunk and it stays Like, even after you washed it, I bet if you took those ends up and you sniffed them, you still had the sniff. I did. No, it lasted for a long time. And it, like, it just gave me anxiety every time.
Starting point is 00:23:49 I was, like, trying to go to bed. I was like, my hair is burnt off. It's not your fault, Jack. It's New York and those shelf. Shelf? They put on a wall. That's not a seat. It's a shelf table.
Starting point is 00:23:59 I mean, it's a literal fire hazard. Literal fire hazard. I can't be the first person that's happened to. Thanks for listening.
