Each week, we catch up with Hollywood's hottest girl posse, Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack
Vanik. Hello, hello, hello. Welcome to the last Lady Gang episode of 2020. Bye, won't miss you.
Fuck yourself, 2020. Fuck you, 2020. Bye, girl, see you never. It's also AKA. Well,
you have to say who you're with. Oh, obviously. Hi. If you're still listening after that terrible
song we just sang to you, you obviously know us already. Becca Tobin, Jack Vanek, and Kelty Knight.
Thank you. So today's episode is my favorite episode of the year. It's our manifest episode.
And I have computer, a legal notepad, my Bujo, and a phone, all with different things that we
need to talk about for manifesting. Holy moly. We've lots to do. We're going to manifest. But
what's great is now we've been at Lady Gang like five years. And so we've done a couple of these.
And the fun thing is, is that I went back and listened to last year's manifest episode.
And now I'm going to see if you guys stuck to your manifest.
Oh, Jesus.
Wait, do we have, how many manifest episodes have we done?
Have we done more than just last year?
I think last year.
And then we did one sort of like goals setting or whatever the year before, but like it wasn't
a fully manifest episode.
Remember that episode that we did the end of the year episode that we did in August
that one year?
Oh my God.
Now it's the end of the year.
where we're like, it's not. It's literally like, it might've been September. We're lucky.
Still summer. So I thought we would open the show this week with a review of my yearly manifests
and just talk through them. And then we'll go into you girls. Okay. Are you ready? So 2020,
I have my Bujo here. And what's been so exciting about 2020 is that I have literally pretty much
for the first time ever crossed off everything this year. For this year? Yeah, 2020. It was my
most successful manifest. Oh, we were on house arrest. Yeah, I know. I got a lot of shit done
this year. And also I think some of the things in the past I was trying to make happen in a year,
and they were more of a long-term. Ah, I see. Last year on my manifest list was get a book deal for
lady gang. And we did. And then this year, so let me go through. So my first one was no personal
shopping until I hit my savings goal. So I had been very bad with money and was like, I'm sad.
Let me buy a sweater. And like, I was like, you know what? I'm going to save a certain amount of
money and I'm not going to shop anything except like groceries and whatever until like no,
no, even like $10 scrunchies at target. Like I was like, I fully nothing extra. And I did it.
And I was really happy and I hit the savings goal. And now I'm shopping like a crazy person.
I swear to God, I bought $23 Christmas tree ornaments from target.com the other day.
What was the number of your savings goal?
Like the amount of money?
I don't want to say.
She probably should not say.
Well, I mean, there's no mystery.
She works for entertainment tonight.
We live in Los Angeles.
Like I feel like at a certain point you could give a ballpark.
People don't think that you're like, you know, hurting for money.
Like when Kelsey was talking about her like small little humble house that one time.
and I'm like, Kelsey, you have 30 foot doors in your house. Yeah. Can you give us a percentage
of what your, how about this? What percentage of your yearly income did you say that you needed
to save to hit this goal? Half. Half of your income? Yes. Before taxes or after? Don't you
only make half of your income? Yeah. From taxes. After the taxes. So after the taxes, half of your
Okay. Yeah. Like half of my take home. Yeah. I think as women, we need to stop being so like
scared to talk about money. Granted, we don't need to talk about like dollar bill amounts.
Yeah. But like, I think it's a good thing to hear. I'm always so curious because like as
girlfriends, we like, I don't ever sit around with my girlfriends and talk about like, how much
are you investing every year? Like how much should I be saving? And what do you do? Like,
because girls are like taught that it's like tacky or rude to talk money. That's true. But
well, it is, it is tacky or rude to talk about. Like if, I don't know, like if you're talking
about your salary, it just depends, I guess. So your salary to somebody that like maybe is not
making as much as you. And then it's like this weird, there are the right times to talk about
money. I feel like, well, there's right ways to talk about it too. Yeah. I think for me, I was,
um, I was living beyond the realistic career length means I was living as if I was going to
be like, I'm in the prime making years of my life. You know what I mean? Like I'm on TV,
like I have endorsements. Like, so, you know, I felt like I'm living, like I'm a rich person
and buying myself Gucci boots once a month. And like, that's just not realistic because
I'm going to make this money for a couple more years and then I'm going to not be making that
money at all. So that's how I think about when I'm looking to buy a house because it's like,
and especially with Lady Gang too, it's like, it's not like we're in a career where we're
making a salary and I'm going to know how much I'm going to be making for the next 10 years of
my life. Like, yeah. And especially like with COVID, it can go up and down so much that I'm
like, how much can I afford? Well, I'm going to challenge both of you to shift your perspective
because yes, this may be the peak money-making in certain types of ventures. However, if we were men,
men just keep making more and more and more and more money usually. Granted, we have chosen
careers that like sort of means we have to not be old hags, but we're going to break that glass
ceiling and we're going to become old hags. Granny gang. Granny gang. Yeah. But it's like,
I actually think it's a really good thing to shift the perspective and be like, no,
I'm always going to make this much money or more. It just might not be from my face on TV.
Well, I don't, I don't think about it that way. I was just thinking about it more. So
just in every career that I've chosen, it's not one that has security. It's all just one that
it's like we could, it's just dependent on opportunities that sometimes don't last more
than a year. But I do understand what you're saying. And we are going to be the granny gang
and we're going to be living in mansions. Right. I can't wait. Um, okay. Next goal was grow hair
longest ever. My hair is definitely the longest it's ever been. Yay. Although you scared me the
other day when I told you that your hair looked so chic in this one video that I had, it was like
her short chic. She's like, well, yeah, I'm going to cut it again, but I'm definitely going to do
the big 80s hair with the 80s bangs. I want a shag. Like a curtain bang kind of a shag?
Yeah. Like a Sally Hershberger shag. I actually feel like that would look good on you. I feel
like you could pull it off. I need you to send me inspiration picks first. I already have them
on my Pinterest board. I will save them for you. Okay. Next become a New York times bestselling
author. Um, next. Okay. So this one, I didn't cross off because I have kind of it up, but I
think overall I did well. And it was be intentional with your words, ideas, and yeses. Very, I can,
I can really abstract. I can think of a few times that you weren't intentional with your words
throughout the year? No, but overall I think I was better than I was the year before. Wait,
sorry. Can we put stuff on each other's manifest list for next year? Oh yeah, but we're not there
yet. We're not, I know, but can you remind me? Okay. Yes. Oh no. Okay. Um, have the kids over
three times. So I really wanted to be a better auntie this year and it was really hard because
of COVID. Um, but I wanted to do like three big auntie dates where it was like super fun. And we
did. Like I did a big scavenger hunt. I did a big outdoor pumpkin painting. So I was really excited
about that. I wanted to hit 150,000 fans on Instagram and I did. I wanted to hit 100 million
downloads of Lady Gang. Check. I wanted to have five date nights with Chris. Not in a year. In a
year. In a year. And I'm talking like a night where I put on a skirt and like we went somewhere.
It can't just be like we watched a movie. You know what I mean? Okay. That's not a date. Yeah.
just us too. Did you do it? Yeah. Okay. And then cut out once used plastics. Cool. So cool. Proud
of myself. Okay. Proud of you. Um, all right. So that was all of them and you crossed all of them
out last year or there wasn't a single one that I didn't cross off be intentional and I didn't cut
out once used plastics yet because it's still like, I'm, I don't know if I, I mean, I definitely
bought a few gas station iced teas this year and they came in a plastic bottle. So I wasn't like
completely full, but I, for the most part, I have really changed my plastic game. Good job. Good
job. Yeah. I'm like, don't give me this spoon. Don't need that spoon. You know what I mean?
I travel with my own personal cutlery and straw. Gross. What a loser. Okay. I know. All right.
When we come back, let's guess what Jack and Becca manifested. And if they came true
now back to the lady gang all right we're back jack what do you think that was your big manifest
last year do you remember i have well i have my manifest list on my medicine cabinet that i look
at every day but i think i talked about this like halfway through the year that it is now depressing
because i know that i won't like get to any of my manifest goals because covid really
to everything up. But I think that attitude is why your manifests are not coming true.
No, there were things that we literally would never, like there was some monetary things that
we could never get to because all of our lady gang stuff got canceled and like stuff like that. But
there were, I had, I think I crossed off four things from my list of like 15.
Well, on the podcast last year, your manifest to the lady gang community was,
I want to work smarter, not harder. I'm constantly so dumb. That is what you've been doing your
whole life. I know that's like, how is that a manifest goal? But that's literally what you
said for maybe you were really stressed. No, you know what? I haven't reached that because I've
been working harder, not smarter because Kelty keeps coming up with these ideas for the lady
gang, but then it's the ideas that I am the only one that knows how to make that happen.
in. Yep. And it's a lot of busy work that really is not worth my time.
Welcome to the lady gang. My goal has not been achieved. I've never been like more thrilled that
I have zero skills. Like I, every time we talk about new projects, I'm like, I would like to
offer something, but I have absolutely nothing to offer. Like there's no work I can text Jack.
I can't like text Jack and be like, Hey, let me take this off your plate. I can't.
Let me, let me design that, uh, that fire that we're doing. Yeah, no, it, uh, it's, it's, it's
been a thing. Becca, what was yours? Do you remember? No chance. Yours was focus more on
the podcast. That's what you said on the last year's manifest. You said, I just really want
to focus on the podcast and like really like lean in and, you know, make it great. And you were,
it was kind of like the end of the, well, it was at the end of the year last year. And you were
like, you know, when we just kind of get busy with it and we aren't as thoughtful, like I'm
not happy with the outcome. And you're like, I want to be really thoughtful. And I actually think
you've really done a good job. Thank you. But it was, that was probably me being really passive
aggressive that day feeling like you guys weren't giving your all to the podcast.
Okay. You do do a really good job with that sometimes where it's like, it's absolutely
directed at one of us. Maybe it was directed at me because I feel like when it's directed at
Kelty, you tell her to her face. Like I'm not really good at receiving like direct criticism.
So maybe it was for me, but I'm, I'm good at taking passive criticism. I'll be like,
oh yeah. Okay. We do need to like bring it up another time.
Well, no, I'll never give feedback on something that I'm also like being shitty at.
Yeah.
Oh, so when you're like, hey guys, we should make sure that everyone knows what kind of
headphones to use.
It's like, you should make sure.
Well, it's like, we've all collected, it's like, we've all fucked up.
But when it's like, when it's one of you, when it's me, well, I gotta be honest, Jack
very rarely.
Rude.
Starting 2021 off like this.
I love you, Kelty. It's like you live loud. I'm a tornado. We know this.
You are a loose cannon. I'm a tornado of doing the right thing and doing the wrong thing all
at the same time. Thank God for Kelty because she's pushing us. Hang on. Hang on. My dog walker's
here. But Jack, don't you think I'm tornado-y where I'm like, I'm doing the right thing. I'm
pushing us along. We're getting shit done. And then also at the same exact time, it's like I'm
a disaster and I'm it up. No, it's everything that you do. Well, it's like, you're so good
at doing things, but then it's so bad at like the opposite, but it comes as one. And I feel like
within the five years of doing this, we just, we expect that to happen at this point. So it's not
surprising, but it is still insane every time that you do it. Okay. Sorry. We're just talking
about how like big of a tornado I am, how, you know, I'm like, I'm going and I'm like doing
good things and I'm doing bad things all at the same time. That's true. Sometimes we're like,
Ooh, the good usually outweighs the bad, which is the only reason we still exist.
It's the only reason we still exist. It's not a great way of putting it. It's not necessarily
bad. It's just reckless. Yeah. It's just like that sometimes can turn into bad. Just messy.
messy. Yeah. Yeah. It's messy. Um, that's okay. So my goal on the podcast last year was to use
this plastic, which I have done so yay for me. And I'm so boring. Like I listened back and I was
like, wow, this is your goals are stupid as. Um, okay. So overall, what surprised you most about
2020? I mean, I don't know, pandemic that we could have never seen coming. Although we could
have, um, what do you, what do you think that answer would be Kelsey? I bet Kelsey has a
different answer. What, what surprised you the most Kelsey? Um, no, I, I think that what surprised
me the most is that 2020 was a year of many heartaches, disappointments, things not going
the way that I thought they would. And I thought my overall feeling would be at the end of this
year to be very disappointed, sad, discouraged, kind of like this. And I feel the exact opposite.
I feel like more alive, happier. I feel like, um, hopeful and I feel like more centered than
I thought I would feel after a year of like literally not one thing going the way I thought
it would. Yeah. I mean, I think there's a lot going on. There's a lot of people that are still
very much like feeling the, um, effects of 2020. Like I've felt both so much gratitude for being
okay in this situation, but also feeling like excited about our accomplishments. You know what
I mean? Like, I, like I, it feels, you feel a little guilty being happy that the year went okay.
Yeah. Um, but like, you can't, it's all relative. So yes, for us, we were really,
And the things that I took away from it were like, what's more important in life?
And I think no matter what anybody went through this year, at least part of it was finding
that out, even if it was difficult, that lesson.
I mean, I am surprised that I feel so differently about like our life.
Like career, especially.
Like all of the notoriety and all the like shit that was like truly, I mean, like we
joke about it, but like, it really was important to me. You know what I mean? Like I really like
cut my teeth on that kind of stuff. And I've, I've really changed my outlook on that.
Even for like Lady Gang in general though, I feel like we've had this shift of, I mean,
even just being in the same room to record and like having to be together all the time. Like
we've realized what's important with the brand in general and what we need to show up for and
how we need to show up for it and where we can do things and knowing that we can continue to
make this grow and flourish and put all of our effort into it, but just in like different ways
than we did before, which I don't think that we'd ever think that we would be in the place that we
would be in now and still be able to like keep it going. So true. The way I feel about LA is so
different too. So different. So different. Like I used to love, or no, I, the thing I hated about
LA was that I felt like I could never escape the business. I felt like I could never escape the
rat race. I couldn't, it's so hard to meet people who aren't in like Hollywood and the
entertainment industry. But then I was like, wait, during this pandemic, I've really appreciated
California and Los Angeles for other reasons. But it also made me realize that once this machine
starts going again and LA goes back into that place that causes me like anxiety and stress and
makes me feel bad about myself that like, maybe it's not where I want to spend the majority of
my time because I've gotten a little taste of what it's like to be in a city where the noise,
it's not so prevalent, like parties and events and red carpets. And yeah, like all that stuff is
like, I mean, LA is great now. It's going to suck dick when everything gets going again.
Right. And it is. Yeah. It's interesting when all that stripped away. I mean, I felt a little
bit different kind of just in a way while I'm not in the industry, so I don't have any feelings
about that. But for me, it's like what, I mean, I grew up in Orange County and my parents are
there. I love the beach. And for me, it's like the things that are keeping me in LA proper
is mostly lady gang. And now we can do lady gang from wherever. And then I guess my friends,
but I see my friends every once in a while anyways. So I'm kind of just sitting in my
apartment being like, I'd rather be in Orange County and not in LA just because I feel like
that's where I belong. But I would never would have made that realization if not for the
if not for COVID, because I think we just get in this hamster wheel of we keep doing the same
thing, same thing, same thing, that I feel like it was a great shift for probably a lot of people
into being like, well, what do I actually want? Instead of just doing what I'm comfortable that
I know. Right. I don't know. It's always been done. Or what you're familiar with.
Well, on that note, we did write a New York Times bestselling book this year. And in that book,
I forced y'all to put the manifest list. And so anyone that has purchased the book,
Act Like a Lady, it's still available by the way. If you haven't yet, you can turn to the page and
manifest with us, but we're going to manifest. And so I'm very excited about this. So 2021,
let us begin. Well, I'll let you guys choose. So I made it four categories in the book, home,
fun, career and money, and personal. Where would you like to start? Should we start with home?
Sure. Okay. So home. I know. I would like to buy a home.
A home to begin with would be nice. But that's my, I mean, that's probably my biggest goal for
2021 is to actually buy a house, period. That's it. You'll do it. Please.
Um, for Zach and myself, I think we are trying to establish a home that's closer to our families.
Like right now we're having conversations about having, you know, being in LA when we need to,
but also like maybe being somewhere closer to our families. I'm not like quite sure what that's
going to look like, but we definitely don't want to have a hundred percent of our time
in California. It's just too far away. So yeah, I'd never thought I would ever get to that
realization. It's so weird. Isn't it so strange that when you're young, like I remember living
in New York city and my dad coming to New York and he was like, how do you live here? Like,
it's so loud. It's so busy. There's so many people. And I was like, oh my God, it's everything. Like
suburbs are for losers. And now that I'm older, I can't wait to move to the suburbs. I need some
land. Give me some burbs. Give me the burbs. It is true. Backyard. But it's like those cities,
they're great for like a point in your life. Right. And then it's like now, then you move to
the next and then the next. And it's just, yeah, it's, it's so true. I would have never thought
about leaving LA. It's so crazy. Kelty, what's your home goal? Well, I, I just feel like I just
finished putting this house together. And so I think my actual home now, I just want to like
preface or preface, um, this by saying that these are not my final manifestations. I would never
finally make my manifestations until exactly January 1st. So these are just what I'm thinking.
These are brainstorms. Okay. So I, I would like to hopefully when the world opens up, like
entertain more in my home. I think I've spent so much time getting it ready and making it so
beautiful. And like, I'm truly other than Chris who doesn't really appreciate that kind of thing.
like I'm the only person that's ever seen the inside of it. And I did my whole backyard and
I have the ability to like have people over for a hot tub or have a fire or whatever. And I,
I just don't. And so I think I need to like start making plans. I mean, obviously with COVID TBD on
that, but I would love to be someone who once a week was like having someone here to entertain.
You're going to hate that. I'm going to hate it. I know I'm going to hate it. You'll do it once.
And then you'll be like, nope. Or you can do it in a way where you have a boundary where like,
if you invite someone over for dinner, you're like, Hey, you want to come over for dinner?
Like, I really want to start entertaining in my house a lot, but like, yeah, there's a,
I turn into a pumpkin at nine. Have you seen those, um, those little like party banners?
And there's one that says, please leave by nine. Yeah. And if you're having a great time,
you can be like, guess what? Extra time. Rule has changed. I definitely won't be.
I also spent, and I think like a lot of people during the quarantine, like I spent a lot of time cleaning closets and kind of like Marie Kondo-ing and home editing my house this year. The one thing that I did not take care of is all my like paperwork. Like I just have boxes of past taxes, past contracts. Like I have all of my blogs from 2006 printed on paper in a binder. Like I have just like a lot of paperwork binders.
And I think for me, that's my next home goal is I would like to get like my life insurance,
my insurance policies, like all of that stuff, like really straight organized because we
just refinanced our house.
And when Chris was like, do you have our 2011 taxes?
I was like, I mean, in one of these 900 boxes, yes.
And so I'd like to like get, I feel like I'd feel less anxiety if I had that all organized.
You just want to home edit your documents.
I want to home edit the documents.
Okay.
The next category is fun.
Oh, I, I really want to do a lady gang trip. I mean, okay, let's pretend, let's make these
manifest as if the world is going to be okay. I think just for like our hopefulness. Oh my God,
then I never want to be home. Okay. I really think it would be so fun to do like a working vacation
where we go somewhere fabulous and stay. And like in the mornings we work for like three hours and
like brainstorm and think of things. And then we go to the pool and then we like record at night
when we're drunk. Like I think it'd be so fun. Oh, I'm so down for this. I mean, we tried to do this
like in the fall and it just fell apart and never went past the idea stage, but I'm, I'm so into the
idea and I'll always go on a trip. Well, I'm not back from Canada until the spring. So I also have
a trip that I would really like to do for fun. Um, so in Tonga, you can dive with the whales
and I've been looking it up and the photos are incredible and I'm really into ocean um I think
I'm more into water wondery than I am into like safari wondery like I loved a safari and it was
amazing and elephants I love you so cute but like I love to snorkel I love to see sharks like I just
love the water I think it's the Aquarius in me so I really want to plan this big whale trip but
there's only certain months where you can do it, but it's like that thing where like the whale is
so massive and like you're like tiny little bitty bit and you go live on a boat for a week and you
try to find them and whatever. So that's like probably the trip I want to plan. And the real
truth is, is that my airline points from when I used to be concierge key, I have 600,000 American
airlines points. They expire in 2021. So I have to go somewhere super far away and really make
good use of my airline points because never again in my life will I have this many airline points.
So I want to go somewhere so far away.
So I think Tonga is it.
It's the trip.
I also would love to do Australia.
So if anyone in the lady gang wants to have me at their house in Australia, I'll also
come there.
You got to go to New Zealand.
New Zealand's better than Australia.
It is.
Ooh, shots fired.
Shots fired.
Well, you're not allowed in any of these places right now.
So I know.
Good luck.
I know we're going to be like, oh, it's going to be so amazing when we can travel.
It's like 10 years from now.
I know.
Jack, what do you want to do for fun in 2021?
I don't really have to plan my fun.
I feel like I just have fun.
Damn, okay.
Wow.
Wow.
I mean, it's completely dependent on whether or not we can do fun things or not.
I already caveated that we're pretending we can do fun things.
I know, but I just can't imagine it happening.
All I want to do is go and be in like a – well, I would love to go to a music festival again.
I know I've talked about this before, but I miss a crowd, and I know we're usually anti-crowds,
but I would do anything to be in like a, like a gross slimy dive bar with a bunch of people.
Like that's all I want to do. All I want to do have somebody spill a beer. I think they're still
doing that in orange County. Yeah, you're right. You have your new home. I think you're yeah.
That's the best news for you. My level of concern about COVID and then might want to have a good
time. Really don't align. I'm so proud of you because really you are the person that should
have been like, I just need people and been on a boat with 25 people. And you haven't been,
I would never, I number one, I don't care enough about pretty much anyone. Like I see the people
that I care about. Mostly it's just Jared and my parents and then a few friends, but like,
I really don't care to see anybody. I just miss the idea of a crowd. Like I like energy around me.
I don't need to be talking to the people, but no, I'm, I'm safe because everybody should be
Becca what do you want to do for fun in 2021 nothing okay how how like on brand are each of
our answers no I'm like and then I'm going to dive with the whales and Tonga and you're like nothing
I this is going to sound terrible but like every year you say this when I make you manifest
i don't like fun no what i find to be fun is not like your typical like super fun thing i mean
you don't have i'm not judging your manifest if you're like i want to learn social no it can be
anything i want to learn how to be like an excellent cook i want to like learn how i want
to bake i want to organize my underwear by color like whatever is fun to you i mean well i do get
to start this year and continue to have fun working for a couple months so that's good
yeah um maybe you want to lean in and like really become friends with this cast and like yeah but
that happens always that's fun yeah i mean it's like it's fun i mean working to me well depending
on where it is is very fun like i don't actually have the most fun when i'm like in a group of
people on a set with people who like to do the same things and are the same stuff fuels them.
And like creatively, it's like a very cool, it's a, that to me is very fun. Yeah. Um, I do want to
like try to go if I can, I really want to go to Disneyland with my niece and nephew because
you were supposed to go. Oh yeah. That was right when everything happened. Yeah. We were supposed
So like in the beginning of April, April, like April 2nd or something. Um, so it would be nice
to be able to do that. And, and, you know, hopefully we can, you know, what I was just
thinking, this is unrelated, but I was just thinking about our podcast. This is going to
be such an interesting thing to go back in like 10 years and listen to certain episodes and like
really see where we were at in the time. You're right. Like when everything shut down and we did
our like the first episode of COVID, like that's going to be such an interesting little time
capsule. You're right. We can show our kids, except for not like the talking about sex and
pooping or something. Well, I've been journaling since I was like eight years old. So I already
have like understood how important these types of things is. And it's a witness to your life.
And I'm so excited to go back. You're right. We should go back and listen to our first episode
too. And like, I know we're only supposed to do that for our hundredth episode. I know. And then
I got busy making this manifest episode. You know what I mean? Okay. Career and money. I have so
many thoughts. Go. Number one, I am going to host a show that is not news, that it is like my cat
moment. I'm going to host something on television or streaming that is like, I'm a host. I'm not a
journalist. I'm not a news person. I'm not interviewing other people. People come to
interview me about my show okay so i'm excited about that putting that out there what else i
would love for this is going to be one of those tornado moments where i sound like a dick but
i would love for us to be as successful financially as we appear to be to the world
does that make sense like i think everyone looks at us and they're like oh my god these girls are
from the craziest pot sorry I mean to like throw you guys out there and like but I mean I think
people look at us and they think we're so successful and we definitely are successful
and there's been times where we've been like yeah we did it but for the most part I don't think the
brand is generating the kind of money that um a brand like a media brand could be just because
we're like we don't really know what we're doing still you know what I mean and so it's like I look
around at these other female founders. And I'm like, Hmm, well, they probably don't have it all
either. They probably are a smoke and mirrors and a lot of their shit too. Especially if they
have a lot of employees, they're probably not making any money. And I think that the people
you're giving like the collective, like them a little like too much. Cause I'm still trying to
explain to people that I'm able to like survive off of podcast money. So I'm still so embarrassed.
Like I was with a doctor recently and she's like, what do you do for work?
And I'm like, well, I have a podcast, but like, I swear it's like successful.
And like, we've been doing it for five years.
I feel like such an idiot saying I have a podcast as my job.
Yeah.
Nobody thinks, no one in my life thinks that I'm like crushing it.
So.
Oh no.
Really?
No.
I feel like people think we're crushing it.
I think people are more surprised when they hear how well we do.
especially the people that aren't familiar. Like, I think it's different if somebody's
familiar with podcasting. No, no, no. I agree. When people are like, what do you,
like, I told you the story of my brother-in-law texted me and was like, Hey, have you ever thought
about transitioning to become a publicist? And I was like, bro, you know, I have a really
successful podcast, right? Like I don't need a different job. Like I do. You're right. I think
people, I don't know. Maybe people you're right. When you're at the people are like, what do you
do? I think the thing, the people you're thinking of are like the 10 people who comment on all your
photos on Instagram, you know, where they're like, you're crushing it. Oh my God. A clothing
line. You're crushing it. Celebrity. Boss babe. Hashtag boss babe. Hashtag boss babe. I can agree
with you on that statement though. Like I would love for the lady gang to become like, I'd love
to expand on our lady gang brand as a whole, because I think we have kind of lofty goals of
what it can be as like a namesake brand outside of the three of us, like talking shit for an hour
every week. And I would like to focus on that and have that sort of live and breathe on its own.
But we're very much in the infancy stages of that. It's more so an idea than anything right
now, but hopefully we can look back on this at 2021 episode that you make us do and be like,
we crushed it. Oh my gosh. Boss babes. Like I'll put this, I'll put it this way. Like I recently
had an IPL. I got it done on my chest and I, you know, I paid full price for it and it's quite
spendy. And I feel like the setting wasn't high enough and I want to go back and be more burnt
by my IPL. But like, because I paid full price, like I'm going to have to call and complain and
be like, Hey, like I paid a lot of money for this. Like, so I'm not like throwing cash out.
I would like to be the point where I have so much money that I'm like, don't worry. I'll just get
another one in three months. Like the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Right. I'm sure
they have so much money. They have so much money. The girl, the woman, Jen, told me that she has a
personal shopper at every single store, like Louis Vuitton Gucci. And she just calls Mala at Gucci
and they fly out to New York and Mala shuts down the Fifth Avenue Gucci store special room and just
brings one of everything for her to try on. Wow. That must be very fulfilling for her.
I don't think it is. Okay. Personal. What are your personal manifest goals?
I didn't say my career or anything. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry.
Mine is I want my acting career to become so successful that I'm doing you guys a favor by
tuning in. I think that's going to happen. Where it's going to be like, oh God, I have to keep
these bitches afloat. And that'll be my karma for having no skillset. It'll be like, no,
you actually are. No, we've, we've invested in you, Becca. Like we knew it would pay off at some
point. We can really ride your coattails. Like now we're just like sort of riding your coattails
because you are like the most well-known out of us. You always have been, but I can't wait for it
to skyrocket. And then we're like, we're like chilling on those coattails. And also speaking
of Disney and your coattails, I did hear a rumor that when you work for Disney, you can go to
Disneyland with like a guide and get a pass. So we could also ride your coattails onto Space
Mountain. That's fine. And go to Club 72 or whatever it's called. Club 33. 33. Yeah. I don't
even think you get to go in there when you work for Disney. You have to go in there if you're
like friends with John Stamos. It's so true. All right. When we come back, we're going to manifest
our personal goals for 2021. You're listening to the Lady Gang. I have a pimple on my forehead.
I want to turn around and pop in the mirror so bad. Nope. Don't do it. Got to be on camera,
girl. If it's a whitehead, do it. I don't know if it is. I can't tell. Put a zit sticker on it.
I did order a ton of zit stickers. It's very important. I told you, one of them gave me,
it left me with a whole, a circle scar. Not a scar, but yeah. Cause it's like very drying.
Well, you probably left it on way too long. Yeah. I think I maybe used it after doing retinol one
night or something, but it was there for like a week. I'm like, I'd rather have the pimple.
Yeah. Yeah. No, I have had the same thing. Like that time I shaved my face and then put the Kate
Somerville mask on and it like inflamed every little scratch on my face. And then I lied to
Rebecca and I was like, I fell into a tree cause I couldn't tell her that I felt like telling her
Was that when you had all those scratches on your face? Yeah. Remember? And you said you fell into
a bush. I did fall into the bush, but it, it was also, the scratches wouldn't have been so prevalent
had she not done. I remember that. Like you showed up to podcasts and I was like, do I acknowledge
it? Or like, it looks like you got like a cat attacked your face. Yeah. I did fall into the
bushes and then, yeah. Okay. Well, the truth comes out. The truth comes out. Okay. Personal
manifest year. Jack, what do you want personally? I mean, I feel like I would like to get engaged
this year, which really just has to do with when I'm ready for Jared to do it. I just don't want
to get engaged in COVID. I'm not having my best life right now. And I'd like to be able to celebrate
and have a moment, but it's just not the time. So I'm just waiting. Understandable. And I'm also
one know, it's not like I don't think it's going to happen. And it literally is up to me. Like he
would have gotten or asked me to marry him like two years ago. So we'll see. Hopefully COVID's
over or vaccines are. Do you think that it's dumb of me to have 2021 be my year of hotness?
Yes. Because I'm going to be 39 this year and it's my last year in my thirties. And I feel
like I have to really thirties it like from here on out, it's one piece bathing suits
and covering my gray. I mean, only if you say so look at Lisa Renna, that bitch is naked still.
You know what? I, I love her. And like, I really love Dorit. Cause I'm like, you know what? I can
still do whatever. Need to be a little bit richer, but like they still dress like they're 25 years
old. And I'm like, this is fun. Like, yeah, they look amazing. Yeah. I mean, you don't have to
get like a soccer mom haircut and like start wearing like cargo pants when you turn 40.
right especially now i feel like 40 is the new 30 is the new 20 is the new what
not any younger than that okay so i'll rethink year of hotness okay i was
of hotness even like what would you do what would you do that you do differently you would
take off those glasses um i think it would be like i would you know dress sexy wear a leather
pant, wear lingerie, wear skimpy bikinis when I go to Tonga and swim with the whales, like,
you know, post a kissy fish face on Instagram. Like, you know, cause I'm always torn between
like, is this the year I grow up and I'm like Olivia Pope, like chicness, or am I going to like
stay in my teenage hotness? And I, you know, I just spit on my microphone. There's an in-between,
you know. Teenage hotness, never say that again. No, no teenager is hot by the way. No, you're
right. But like the youth. It's illegal. You know, like a short short. You wear short shorts all the
time. I know Kelty, your legs are better than like a 20 year old's legs. Oh my God, thanks.
So it should be the year of hotness. I think you've had a lifetime of hotness. You've worn
like mini bodycon dresses on TV. I know. I love that. And I also love that this has to be like
a checkoff goal for you to wear a skimpy bikini. Like you can't just do it. She like wakes up and
she goes in her closet and she's like, Hmm, I think I'm gonna wear these jeans. Oh my God.
Nevermind. It's the year of hotness. Yep. Well, I also want to be a more exciting wife this year.
So this year because of COVID and the pandemic and being in quarantine, like it was our anniversary
and Chris made me a card on like a piece of scrap paper from our office. Like we just were so lazy
in love and it's been great. Like honestly, my God, lazy in love. I love that. Looking so crazy
in love, lazy in love. Wow. We need to do something with that. Hey, let's do a merch.
Let's do a switch for lazy in love. You know what we're going to do? I want to do a merch drop for
like Valentine, Galentine's day. That's perfect. Okay. Perfect. Make a note. Yeah. So I just was
like lazy. Like I didn't try, I didn't dress up. I wasn't like, Oh my God, I don't want you to see
we was at cream. Like I was like, you know, we were like, almost like got into like best friend
zone, which we are like, Chris is my best friend. Like, I don't, I just don't want to say that,
but it's like, I got really lazy and like, I'm just going to be disgusting all the time and be
around you and like, you know, not, not try. And there were no weddings to go to or parties to go
to or events to go to where we could like, all of a sudden we're at the Grammys and we're like,
oh my God, remember? Like we're cute and hot and we're dressed up and we smell good. Like I was
just disgusting all year. So I would like to try to be a little bit less lazy. Does that make sense?
Yeah. Yeah. I mean- It was the year of laziness. I don't think anybody got out of that
unlazy and gross. Yeah. Poor Zach. I'm never going to have a year where I feel like I need
to do that. Jack, do you have a personal goal for 2021? No. Becca? I'm perfect. I'm so perfect.
No, I don't actually have a goal. I feel like I'm just going to have no expectations of myself or
anyone around me. That's what's up. I'm going to just be a houseplant. I just feel like it's a
shitty time to be thinking of next year because next year is going to look a lot like this year,
I think realistically speaking. And so I don't actually, like I said, the one year I did make
a real manifest list, like not a single thing went right. And actually some of the things went
so opposite 180 wrong that I was like, you know what, Becca? Nope. Expectations are the recipe
for you personally for disappointment. You know what? You learn from that though. You just know
that that doesn't manifest list don't work for everybody and they don't work for you.
And it's not true. If you're listening to this and there's, and also you can't force yourself
to be someone you're not like, I am not ever going to be the person who wakes up and says,
the options are endless. It's going to be a beautiful day. I'm going to be so hot and
amazing. Like you're a pot. You're hot. Like I wake every up every day and I'm like, you know
what? Thank God I'm breathing. I'm good. Could I be hotter today and eat healthier? I sure can,
but I'm going to just go with the wind blows. Yeah. You know what? I am somewhere in the middle
of these two with, when it comes to manifesting, like none of my, I don't have a personal,
a fun manifest. I, my manifest list of this year, we're all professional. It's all, it was all just
like professional goals that I wanted to hit. So I think that there's like a different, it's
different for everybody. Just choose your own adventure. Choose what works for you. I don't
want to have a personal goal because then I have to think that I have to do it and I don't want to
be anything I'm not. Yeah. How do you not feel like you're failing, Kelty, if you aren't achieving
at your list? Well, the truth is that, like I said in our book, you really have to think about
the things you want to manifest and you have to realize. So this is like my last thing that I
want to say in this episode is it's really interesting. Like you have to really think
about them and make sure that the thing is that you really want deep in your gut. It can't be
like, Oh, I want this thing because then you're right when it doesn't come or you're not working
towards it, then you feel shitty. But for me, my manifest are things like that are gut urges.
Like they're like, I know deep down, I really need to quit Diet Coke. Like I really need to
do this. You know what I mean? I know like I'm not anyway. So this is so crazy. I wanted to
in this episode by saying, I recently found a manifest list that I made, um, for my career
and it's eight years ago. Okay. And I want to read the things that are on them because it'll
blow your mind. Okay. I want to be an inspirational speaker to girls. Weird. Okay. I literally am.
That's what I wonder when that one's going to happen. No, listen to how they all came true.
endorsement deal fashion beauty or tech fabletics bitch ah okay ad campaign with blog so this was
back when i like how to blog but ad campaign with blog i think ads on podcast count yes yeah we're
we're a spoken word blog yes book book deal okay radio show okay weird future 10 years gma today
show, the view, the talk. We've been on the today show and GMA and the talk. I've been on the today
show. Which one's that? That was with Kathleen Hoda. Oh, okay. Fashion line at target or Kohl's.
We had a line at express New York times bestseller. Wow. That's crazy. It is, but I also
presumptuous that eight years ago, you thought you were going to get a book deal.
i know but like what the book did you anticipate needing to write i had no idea that's what i was
saying rock stars rockets and rock bottoms part two exactly i had no idea god you have incredible
delusions of grandeur for them thank god for them because i think that like we're a byproduct of
them, but like, what the fuck? No, it is very true. It is delusions of gratitude. It really is.
Like eight years ago. That's like the equivalent. No, actually it wouldn't have been, okay,
eight years ago, if I had put on my manifest list, win an Academy Award, it would have been
more less of a reach than have a book deal. Yeah. It's so true. It's crazy. Anyway,
that's why the power of manifesting works so don't let becca and you have to be as insane
as kelty for it to work you're going to be disappointed if you lack awareness like me
happy 2021 well everyone this year has been a dumpster fire we surely hope 2021 is better but

What? Trying to win a hip pap. Okay. What are they? Hold on. The, uh, no, you can't even think
of one in there? No, the hip hop. A Pulitzer Prize? No, it wasn't. It's like an Emmy. New
York Times bestselling author. Was that on there? No, because there's no N. You're a host, producer,
something. I don't know. I got to figure it out. Whatever. I can't remember what it is. God,
