Starting point is 00:00:00 Well, what is this? Welcome to the lady gang. That's amazing. Say that again. The lady gang. Things are about to change around here. Each week, we catch up with Hollywood's hottest girl posse. Kelti Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vannock.
Starting point is 00:00:17 Hello, hello, hello, welcome to Lady Gang. Whoa, Jack. What was that? That was a stretch. I'm Becca Tobin here with Jack Vanek, Uninhibited. and Kelsey night. Wow. I just needed to get that out.
Starting point is 00:00:35 I thought I was a little bit earlier than I actually was, I guess. She stretched and let out a sigh. Like a yoga sigh. Oh, damn, girl. Welcome to Earth. Felt good. Oh, so much to talk about. So much to talk about.
Starting point is 00:00:51 So much to discuss. Well, let's just get in because I think that these are going to be some good, good little stories. All right, it's time for. Good week. Yes, it is. Bad week. No. Who wants to go first?
Starting point is 00:01:04 I'll go. Whatever there's a question. She's prepped. She just woke up. She's stretched. I've actually been up for like five hours. Okay. So my good week is I recently went to Europe to basically follow Jared around on tour, as I do.
Starting point is 00:01:20 And it was so fun. I saw his shows in Amsterdam and Berlin. And my good week is usually like when I see any, like, go to any of his shows, the crowd's usually the same, especially in America. you know, they're whatever. In Europe, I was shocked because not a single person had their phones out when they were playing a show. I'm not kidding. The entire show, not maybe one person had their phone out filming something for like 20 seconds. And it is the biggest shock because any show you go to in America, everybody has their phones out filming it. And I'm always like, for what? Because these, it always sucks. And like, who wants to watch a video on your phone of somebody playing from like 200 feet away?
Starting point is 00:02:01 But I was just very pleasantly surprised because I'm like, wow, people are like actually in the moment. It feels like we're in the 90s. I have a rule for concerts where I film so that I can promote it. Like if it's, you know, because I don't really go to my friends things. Like so I can put one story up and be like, the cab crushed it or whatever it is. And then I put my phone away and I just sing along and enjoy it. That's my rule. I know.
Starting point is 00:02:25 It's like so hard to be in the moment when you're trying to watch it through your own phone. Like it makes no sense. I was just like in Amsterdam and in Berlin. I thought it might have been a fluke in Amsterdam. But I'm like, the Europeans got it right. But you're kind of disappointed me because I knew you were in Europe. I didn't see outfits. I didn't see, like, what's going on with you, Jack?
Starting point is 00:02:44 My outfits aren't good enough to really take pictures of anymore. And also, I've kind of made a role with traveling that I'm not, I'm trying to not be on my phone so much because it's, like, overwhelming. And then you can't be in the moment. I would like, and then the anxiety about, like, trying to post every day. I kind of like let myself get rid of that so I can actually enjoy it. The activities have become privated. I'm evolving. There's a woman on Instagram who made a whole video.
Starting point is 00:03:13 She's an influencer, like a mom influencer. And she was kind of like all of you moms out there that are trying to do this, I just want you to know the reality of my life. Every time I'm with my kids, every trip I'm on, every outfit, everything, my brain is so distracted with, oh, this will be a good thing to put on social. Oh, I can do this. Oh, I need to capture this thing. And it's like, yes, it's a blessing to have that ability to monetize something like that. But it's a never-ending thing.
Starting point is 00:03:42 And you have to be so aware. And like, I'm glad that when you travel, you are intentional. Because it does. It sort of like seeps into your every moment. Even when you're not monetizing social media. No, I know. And it would just the anxiety it used to give me about like, not capturing enough and then like, oh, but then I can miss this thing. And then what if I don't
Starting point is 00:04:04 post that? And then I'm not relevant. I'm just trying to like give it up and just focus on like specific things when it comes to social media because it does like eat you alive. And then you forget that you even want on the trip. So anyways, my bad week was we ended up taking the train from Amsterdam to Berlin. Our train was very early in the morning. And Jared's show in Amsterdam was the night before. So we stayed up very late. We were drinking. We went to the bar afterwards. I had a meltdown in Amsterdam because I was telling Jared, I'm like, this is the last show that I'm ever, these are the last shows I'm going to see before like I get pregnant. And then we'll never like have the same type of, you know how I am very existential. And I'm like, everything's going to change soon.
Starting point is 00:04:43 And this is the last time. And then I ruined it by crying the entire night in Amsterdam. So I woke up the next morning. I'm obviously just like hungover, puffy, just so frazzled. I didn't sleep. I slept maybe like three hours. And I had a full size suitcase and my backpack that weighs my backpack has to weigh 35 pounds. It's full of shit. It's our lovely to me backpacks that I can pack to the brim. And then my suitcase is always oversized. So my suitcase probably weighed like 60 pounds. Okay. So my friend Fallon and I are going up the elevator to get to the train little station thing. I roll my suitcase on and it starts moving up. I'm like two steps below it. I miss the last two wheels of the suitcase on the step.
Starting point is 00:05:30 And it starts going up and it starts falling backwards. I'm so far below it. I could not get underneath it to put it back up. So my suitcase in my backpack, which weighs over 90 pounds, falls on top of me. I fall on top of Fallon. And we both start tumbling down the escalator. And my suitcase, okay, almost 100 pounds. It has pinned me in the escalator.
Starting point is 00:05:56 This is my worst nightmare because then those little teeth eat you. Yes, okay. Also, my hair was down. My hair is almost to my butt right now. So I am freaking the fuck out, thinking that my hair is going to get stuck in the escalator and it's going to totally rip my scalp off. And that happens. People die.
Starting point is 00:06:11 No. Well, I have this memory from when I was a child in JC Penny and there was an escalator that was stopped and there was like a shoe lace that was stuck in it at the very bottom. And I'm like, that has always been in my mind. I'm like, I'm going to get stuck into this escalator. So anyways, I've been done to the suitcase. I screamed the biggest scream of my life. I'm like, somebody help us!
Starting point is 00:06:31 And this guy from the bottom ends up running up and he saves the day. He helps me like put the suitcase up, whatever. But we finally get up to the top and Fallon's like, I have never seen fear like that in anybody's eyes in my life. Oh, my God. Because I literally thought I was going to get sucked underneath the escalator. It was so scary. And my suitcase was just, it was like.
Starting point is 00:06:53 like a full-size person, just dead weight on top of me. And we're like totally backwards. It was, it was insane. And it happened in slow motion. But by the time we got back up, it was fine. And then I looked at my aura ring and it was like, it was like fine, fine, fine, like the biggest stress in the entire world. And yeah, it was, it was great. So that was my happy. You know what this story taught me? What? That Becca and I are going on amazing race and you're not invited. That suitcase would have pinned any of us. Any of us. Well, I haven't packed an oversized suitcase with a hair like that anymore. That's a dangerous. You got to chop a few inches, babe. I'm not going to go up an escalator with this hair ever. It's going to be tied back. Yeah. Well, also it's like what
Starting point is 00:07:42 happened to not checking bags? Like what happened to doing, especially if you're not doing outfit picks, can't you start doing like the carry on? What's in this bag? No, because I still. I, you know, I just overpack everything. I need, I bring stuff I don't need just to fill it up. Okay. That's just what I do. All right. Well, my bad week is reminiscent of just, no, anyways, I, it's not an accident.
Starting point is 00:08:09 It's an accident. So, it's the middle of the night, I have to go pee, as I do, because I now drink enough water, which is so fucking annoying. And I get up in the middle of the night. I sit down on the, the toilet, I pee, I like wipe, and I'm standing up and my full lower back goes out. Like, I cannot stand up straight. It feels like somebody has stabbed me in my lower back. And I go and I like walk over to sack and I'm like, I can't do the next feeding. Like I can't even lift her up.
Starting point is 00:08:40 For three days, I could not lift up our child because I would have to like bend over to lift her up and then bend over to put her into the bassinet. And I'm like, this is what, you're 40 is when you have a newborn. It's like I should be someone's grandma right now and not somebody's mom who depends on me. And how is it possible? It was from getting up, getting up from the toilet. That's always how I throw my back. I mean, I usually throw my back out sleeping, but it's always doing something so, so easy. Normal. So easy. That doesn't surprise me at all. Not a deadlift. Just to stand up from the potty. Just like a slight little. Now that Myers here, you're not doing the steps anymore, right? We're done? I'm still doing, I'm still doing the steps. I'm not. I'm
Starting point is 00:09:21 not doing like every day like a psycho challenge. Do you have to pay her? No, we just call it out. It was 30 days and we did our challenge, 30 day challenge. But do you know there's like an app now where you can actually make money from doing steps challenges? What? Stepa. I am stepping. I am a step fiend right now. I need to do it. Anyways, steppa. I don't know if you can actually win that much money is the problem. I'm like, is it worth it? I don't know. Anyways, so I threw my back out. It's really, you know, my good week is,
Starting point is 00:09:53 it's another Ford-related, funny. He's four and a half right now, so the things that are coming out of his mouth are so fucking funny. So I pick him up from school one day, this last week, and I put him in the car seat,
Starting point is 00:10:07 and we're just chatting about his day. And he said, oh, it was Recy's birthday today, and she brought cupcakes. I'm like, oh, that's so nice. He's like, yeah, but Lucia can't have cupcakes because she is British.
Starting point is 00:10:20 And I go, I go, first of all, I know Lucia, she's not British. Oh, my God. Very much American. I go, okay. And I'm like trying to understand what he thinks, like, what his, the British thing is. And I'm like, she's British. He goes, yes.
Starting point is 00:10:35 And the cupcakes, they were Australian. And I was like, okay. What the fuck is happening? So then the next day at school, I see Reese's mom, who's funny. And I was like, oh, happy birthday to Reese. like the cupcakes, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I was like, Ford said the funniest thing that, like, Lucia couldn't have him because she's British. She goes, she's gluten-free.
Starting point is 00:10:58 Oh, my God. She's like, where do you get British from? That's probably how they explained it. I don't know. I think it's like if you hear something in passing, it's like a label. So maybe the only time he's ever heard somebody say like, oh, she's X. It's been like, oh, it's like been like a nationality or a. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:21 Origin. Whatever. Like, oh, she, whatever. Oh, she's gluten-free. So she's, now my new thing is when people are gluten-free. I tell them that they're British. I love it. Honestly, Slay.
Starting point is 00:11:33 It's way better than admitting your gluten-free, you know? Sorry, I can have that cupcake. I'm British. I'm sorry. I'm British. That's really cute. Well, my good week. Well, my bad week is that,
Starting point is 00:11:50 I did fix my bad haircut, which is kind of good. But then I still have approximately two years to grow up my bangs. Like I thought cutting up an inch, I'd be like, oh, I'm back. And I am back. And my bang is almost to my ears. But then I just realized, like, again, when I was getting the haircut and he was brushing it, that, like, just how long I have to go before I don't have a bang. And I'm sorry that that is just it.
Starting point is 00:12:15 It's not going to be two years. I know. You don't think so? Like six months. You look at the, like, the, like, six months. You look at the like grow out from your highlights or your color. Slow. Is your slow?
Starting point is 00:12:26 Hmm. But at least you can put them back. Yeah, no, now it's fine. I glued them back. Anyway, so I just wanted everyone to get an update on that. My, oh, actually my, sorry, my real bad week is Matt Nathanson pulled out of my book tour in San Francisco, like a mother, for. Wait, you said that he did, but you're going to, like, re-book him for another one? Well, Holly Madison's coming now, which.
Starting point is 00:12:49 is fabulous and honestly even funner. And makes me less nervous. And but Matt, he booked a show. And like, he said yes, the book tour. He's like, I'm available. And so then I booked it. And then I was like, hey, it's time to promote. And he's like, oh, like, I got to go play this show with Sarah Brellas.
Starting point is 00:13:06 Now, I love Sarah Brelis. And for my Matt Nathanson to be playing a show with her, that's a big deal. And I don't want to take that from him. So I was like, well, obviously your unpaid moderation of my book tour will be allowed to go. but I've been pretty sad about it. But then I was complaining about it. And Holly was going to do, she's doing the Boston Day. And she was like, I'll come to San Francisco.
Starting point is 00:13:27 We can have a girl's night. And I was like, oh, my God, that's so nice. So that's going to be really fun. She's the best. She really is. My good week is that I went to Disneyland and I did volunteer work with the most amazing company called Foster Love. Foster Love takes kids that have been their siblings.
Starting point is 00:13:48 and they've been separated to two different foster homes in the foster system and brings them together for a day at Disneyland. I went with Christina. Christina's like, obviously she's a Disney adult, which I do not understand. I went to her house. I was like, I needed Disney hat. She, like, had a store of Disney things. She was so good at Disney that she was better than the guide.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Like, the guide would be like, we should go here. And she's like, you can do the pass through to the haunted mansion. Like, she knew everything. Wow. Amazing. But let me just tell you, this change. my life. I will never be the same. I'm a completely different person. These children showed up and they were so fearful. They were acting like 25 year old adults. They were so pulled together. They were so scared.
Starting point is 00:14:33 They didn't even look you in the eyeballs. And Christina and I were in group Jeannie. We had 10 kids. By the end of the day, these kids were hugging us, drawing on my face. I was literally carrying them on my back. holding my hands in all the rides. The girls were like, I'm so scared. I don't, and she's like, I don't want to go on pirates. I'm too scared. I'm like, there's one drop. And she's like, will you hold my hand?
Starting point is 00:14:58 I'm like, yes. I had this moment that I will take to my deathbed of joy, you guys. I'm on this ride that's like you go in and then you kind of like fly or whatever in their six seats. It's called something about. Sorin. No, it's like smugglers run. It's at the Star Wars Land. It's new.
Starting point is 00:15:16 So it's six people. and I have my girl, and the oldest, she's the oldest of three siblings, and this girl has been 47 years old since she was probably five, like has been taking care of these kids, you know? She's holding my hand because she doesn't like rides, neither do I, and we're in the back, and we're so sweaty. Our hands are sweaty. We're riding, we're riding, riding, riding.
Starting point is 00:15:35 She looks over at me, you guys, and she just looks at my eyes and she goes, I'm having so much fun, and then she just giggles. I'm bawling. I am literally crying my eyes out. And it was also so crazy just to go off on a tangent. So at the end of the day, foster love and all the people had raised money, they get $50 to go into the Disneyland store. Now, if you've been to Disneyland, you know $50 is getting you nothing. It's getting like a licorice.
Starting point is 00:16:03 Like everything is so expensive. And the way they do it is each adult takes one kid because it gets very overwhelming for them to shop and whatever. And so I'm with her. She's like the oldest of the genie three, as I called them. and we're going in. And the most heartbreaking part was that she saw all these bags. And she was like, oh, this would be so great for my emergency kit. And I was like, what do you mean?
Starting point is 00:16:29 And I was like, oh, your emergency kit, like for your band-aids and stuff. She's like, yeah. So like if I have to leave really fast, they have these, they've been pulled out. Like a go bag. A go bag. And I was like, the fact that you are in a store at Disneyland and you, are picking out the thing that's going to be good for your go bag, not the sweater, not the tiara, not the wand, not the makeup, not the fun thing. You're thinking about your go bag. It
Starting point is 00:16:54 broke my fucking heart. And it was just so crazy. I ended up, I mean, I ended up spoiling her. I was like, you don't worry about your $50. You keep this. I was like, I'll get you whatever you want. So she got this sweater and then she got a fanny pack and she got the go bag. And then she wanted this pin that had like a mirror on it and she got a blanket. Like I just like went crazy. And it was so fucking hot. And then she put the sweater on right away. She's like, oh my God, this is the most beautiful thing ever. I can't wait to wear it to school. Like it was, I just, I have been rocked. I have been rocked. I live in L.A. I am around so many spoiled children that have playrooms and a zillion toys. And I have been rocked to my core. Foster love, thank you so much.
Starting point is 00:17:37 Thrive Cosmetics was a sponsor of it. They brought us out. And I just, it was. incredible. And now Taylor and Britt are coming from Dancing with the Stars. And I'm going to yell and be mad about their Dancing with the Stars situation. But I just want to tell you that I'm soft now in my heart. Good for you, Kelty. Thank you so much. Oh, my God. It's our favorite season. Sweaterweather. Sweaterweather. You've got the 1975 best song of all time. That's definitely the neighborhood. Oh, the neighborhood. Right. The S&L skit. Sweeterweather.
Starting point is 00:18:13 Sweeter's are so important to me, and I have so many of them, and I will buy more. I just, I long for sweater weather. I think that sweater is the elite item in anybody's closet. And the sign of adulting and becoming the woman that you are meant to be is having a collection of nice, quality, basic sweaters. I it's taken me a while to find what my sweater vibe is because sweaters can go so girly and I've tried to figure out how do I make it into my own style and I've figured it out recently and it's doing a little boyish oversized but wearing a button up underneath and having a little collar poke out that's my new vibe. Do you remember on the lady gang tour a bunch of years ago you did a lady gang crew sweater and then with the dress shirt underneath, but like as a skirt with a boot. Oh, that was a really cute outfit. Oh, yeah, that was cute. I know. So good. Very are in a grande. So here's the thing about the fall,
Starting point is 00:19:20 what I'm looking forward to. One of the things I'm looking forward to is that because it is sweater season, the sweater dress comes back into play. And this is major for me because I want to wear leggings sweatpants everywhere. But then I'm going to be going out. I'm book touring. I'm doing a lot of things. A sweater dress is one of life's best presents. Inventions. Why? Because it eliminates a waistband. A waistband causes you so many problems, especially in the fall when you start carb loading again and drinking a 1,300 calorie pumpkin spice latte every day. To be able to throw a sweater on and then just have it go down to your boots and it's all just one piece, it's like you're basically wearing a nightgown to work. And I just appreciate that so much. I saw the cutest free people
Starting point is 00:20:10 sweater dress on Macy's. It is adorable. And I just think a cozy moment. Cozy is one of my favorite words. Cozy is a good word. I also appreciate sweater weather because you don't have to overthink your undergarments as much, you know? Yeah. Like every shirt during the warmer months, I'm having to really be like, am I packing the right bra for this? Am I wearing the right bra for this? I get out in the world and I'm like, oh, no, this is the wrong bra for this. A sweater? any bra is the right bra or no bra at all. That's so true. And then you can, it's just, you can wear it anywhere.
Starting point is 00:20:42 It's so comfy. And then you're kind of wearing pajamas, fish. The other thing I stole from Becca and, you know, I was still a look is the easiest look. And all the girly pops at the, at work are doing it is your, if you can wear jeans to work or like a little easy dress pant. But you do that with a white t-shirt and a loafer. And then you just throw the sweater. over your shoulders in the little not, not Morgan Stewart style. And you are chic, you are pulled together.
Starting point is 00:21:11 You do a slick back and a red lip and you, it took you four seconds to get ready. And you are just, you're ready. And so in every closet this fall, you need a black sweater dress, a camel sweater, a gray sweater.
Starting point is 00:21:24 A black, a gray or black like crew neck knit. And then I want to say, well, some sort of cardigan. But then also I have like a yellow and a baby. I just ordered this yellow addicted one on Macy's. I need a yellow sweater. It's a butter yellow.
Starting point is 00:21:40 Yeah. The price is offensively affordable. Yeah, I love addicted. Yet with the program. No, addicted is the new brand. I love it. It's really good, you guys. I know.
Starting point is 00:21:50 It's for the youth, but it's also for us. Anyway, it's sweater weather. You can get all your favorite sweaters at Macy's.com. We are going to the Macy's store, which we really enjoy. And congratulations. It's finally cozy season. You're back. All you have to do.
Starting point is 00:22:05 is spray tan your hands and your face and you're free. You're free. Happy fall, bitches. Okay, lady gang, real talk. Okay, Lady Gang, I need everyone to go back to 1997 with me for a second. You're in your bedroom. There's a poster on your wall. There are three brothers from Tulsa, Oklahoma, with better hair than you.
Starting point is 00:24:21 And you know every single word to a song that makes no sense. It's just basically, mm, and Bob. Well, Middle Brothers here today, and he's doing something he's never done in his entire life. He is Dahl Singh. on live television in front of the whole country, and he's getting scored for it. He has spent almost 30 years behind a piano. He's a Grammy-nominated songwriter,
Starting point is 00:24:40 the voice and founder of the nonprofit fighting Hunger in Tulsa, and a dad of seven. Seven, he's never taken a single dance class. So naturally, at 43, he signed up for Dancing with the Stars. And the woman who was teaching him is a legend in her own right. She was a principal dancer in all three high school movie musicals. She toured Regina Jackson and Riri. She walked into Dancing with the Stars with no.
Starting point is 00:25:01 ballroom training and became the first black woman to be a pro in the show's history. They've quick step, they've cha-cha, and they fox-trotted. And today we're going to find out what happens when a guy who's been scared of the dance floor for 30 years finally gets on it. Please welcome Taylor Hanson and Britt Stewart. I am livid. Hi, you guys. Thanks for having us.
Starting point is 00:25:24 Thank you. What a great intro. I know. Okay. You should add to my list of, you know, list of Taylor's Taylorisms. I'm now also Brits fan club, head of the fan club. Hell yeah. She really, she really, I mean, up close and personal doing this process these last few weeks has been, I mean, it's just blown my mind. I mean, what she has to do, what she had to deal with
Starting point is 00:25:51 with me, oh my God. But it's easy work, easy work. It's really, it is such a journey. And you're right. what she brings to the table and me jumping into the ballroom was it was an adventure guys it was a major major quest and where our heads are spinning a little bit as well yeah so yeah yeah they're definitely spinning i think there should be something with the show where enough if enough people are outraged you get back on yes like a take see back see yes yes yes like one yeah one like free get out of jail free card or whatever. Like, I think we would do this for this moment. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:30 So there's a lot of, there's a lot of feelings on the internet right now. I tried not to look, but yes. And, well, I'll let you guys take the mantle. Questions, thoughts? Okay. First of all, yeah, Britt, there is a lot of conversation about when it was announced last night, your face words, like you basically were like, oh, And then you were like, you started apologizing to Taylor.
Starting point is 00:26:57 I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. And then they don't do this often. But obviously the show was short because at the end of the show, there was a lot of the mulling after show that we don't see. And then Julianne's coming out of. And like, what do we really need is Jackie the lip reader from TikTok to come out and be like telling us what happened? So can you just walk us through that moment and like what was going through your mind?
Starting point is 00:27:22 and then what everyone was saying to you? Yeah, sure. So about halfway through the elimination process, I, you know, I've, this is my seventh season as a pro. And so I kind of started, my heart started beating faster and faster. I was like, people were getting safe. People were getting saved. And so, you know, I didn't, I didn't want it to be true, but I think, you know, getting, I don't know how you felt Taylor, but I think getting closer and closer to that moment,
Starting point is 00:27:54 I was kind of in my head like, oh, no, this is not the way, you know, I think either of us imagined our season to be. And I knew when we were in the bottom that there was like a, there was a big risk that maybe we were going to go home. Again, completely unexpected. And then, yeah, I've, you know,
Starting point is 00:28:13 I try to stay off the internet and try to, you know, try to, not to read people's comments or whatever, but it's like, it is flooded with like how I have reacted. And what's really interesting is it's been perceived in so many different ways. And, you know, one thing that I do want to say is that it's being perceived that I was angry. And that's not anger at all. That is sheer disappointment and sadness. And as a pro, you know, our job is to curate and make sure that our celebrity partners' journey on Dancing with the Stars is full and abundant. And you want to, and enjoyable as well. And so in that moment, yes, I kept apologizing
Starting point is 00:29:02 because I really, in that moment, I felt like I had let Taylor down. And so it was, it was that. That's where the apologies were coming from. And then after, Afterwards, you know, I don't know if I've ever been so transparent with my feelings on live television. I'm pretty pretty good and I have a pretty like solid poker face. But I really do feel like, you know, Tay, I don't want to speak for you, but I do feel like we were both quite shocked. And so it was hard to keep that in. And then, you know, the Dancing with the Stars world, the pros. We really are, we're very interconnected. It is a blend of, you know, family. There's real life
Starting point is 00:29:55 relationships. There's real friendships. We're also like, I think a bit trauma bonded as well. Like we go through, we go through this experience every single year and then a big chunk of us also tour. So we also live with each other for, you know, for months out of time. And, you know, we've also grown up together. You know, we went from kids in our 20s on this crazy dance show to now we're, you know, married and having families. And so we've experienced this together. So a lot of people are like, what was happening in that moment? And when one of us feel something, we all feel it. And so that's what that interaction was at the end of the show. There's too many thoughts to share, really. And I'm just going to, I could start from the beginning and like give a summary,
Starting point is 00:30:48 but I'll just start with pivoting from what Britt was sharing. One of the things that really blew me away about this process was seeing the way the pros support each other. And like, that is really powerful. And as a person to spend my life in the arts and the life at creating things, one of the things that I don't think a lot of people have the privilege of experiencing that I wish more people did is the idea of making something. something from nothing is like really, really powerful. Like every painter, every songwriter,
Starting point is 00:31:19 every dancer, every designer, every person that starts a business. Like when you have an idea and then you go and you make it and you watch it and you birth it, it's like you have to put yourself in, you know, and the minute I met Brit, you know, I told her, I'm going to try and compose yourself, Taylor. I was like, we're two very emotional people, by the way. Yeah. I'm like,
Starting point is 00:31:45 just so this is, we're like very wrong. I told her, I was like, you know, I'm, I want to, I want to win for you.
Starting point is 00:31:51 I feel like this, this could be your moment. Like, again, like she needs me to do that. But I mean, I just was so ready and excited to do that.
Starting point is 00:31:59 And I'm so grateful, frankly. It, this has hit me in ways I never predicted. Um, like tight, like such an amazing,
Starting point is 00:32:09 in a friendship form between Brit and I. And like, enjoyed the time, was absolutely working, like, you know, really, really working as hard as I know how and hurting every, every muscle. But, I mean, such a great experience. And seeing her and seeing the respect between the other, the dancers and one another and seeing what the respect they have for her. Like, the fact is, it's because of the way she, she handles herself. I've watched her with the young dancers, I watch her, you know, with the peers. And I think that's one of the things that makes, makes this such an entertaining thing to watch and to participate in.
Starting point is 00:32:44 So I have more thoughts. But just as far as the moment goes, I mean, anything that anybody saw from Britt between us in that moment, I think was we were both shocked. I still feel a little like, what happened? Wait, excuse me? But also, like, I think she, you saw in her,
Starting point is 00:33:05 basically just like the dynamic that we've had where we were both kind of, rooting for each other. I mean, you know, you're rooting for each other and you're like, if you were alone in a room, not at a live television show and you got some like not great news, you know, you'd lean over to your friend or you're, you know, your person that you've been like just going at it with and doing all these hours and hours and hours of work. And you'd just be like, oh, man, I'm sorry. Like, what just happened, you know? And so you can't really protect one another from something that's out of your hands. But the instinct is, you know, and her instinct, why she's such an awesome human is like to own that and be, hey, friend, like, oh my God,
Starting point is 00:33:45 like what just happened? Like, I'm sorry. I didn't do other things. But we both know that, you know, all you can do is go out there and throw down. And that is what this has been about for me, is to leap into the unknown. And that's, that's it. That right there is a win. So in that sense, it was a huge, this whole experience has been a victory.
Starting point is 00:34:06 But listen, Dancing with the Stars has some major issues. And you work for them, Britt, and so you're not going to say anything. Taylor, you're off now, babe. So you can discuss. And here's the issues. America, America is sad right now. And we're feeling bad about ourselves. And the past few seasons of Dancing with the Stars, America does this thing where they forget the point of the show is to be a good dancer.
Starting point is 00:34:31 And they start, everyone gets behind. We all know Guillermo. We love them. We love them so much. we don't need Guillermo past week three, okay? We need, like, I'm sorry. I know this is, I'm savage, but I'm telling you what I think. What I want is I want, you got to speak.
Starting point is 00:34:49 That's what you, that's why you have this podcast. There's always the funny and the like ridiculous, but like there's no way. Objectively America, if you look at these performances, there is no way that like Taylor and Brick go home based on based on what they put on the dance floor. And I like a rule and I like to be fair. and here's what happened. There's three problems with dancing and stars.
Starting point is 00:35:11 Number one, all the jokey jokey's America's like, you know what? We love someone who's like us. And they vote them up. Number two, the people that come in that have massive fan bases like yours, Taylor, they look at you and they're like, he's tall, he's handsome,
Starting point is 00:35:27 he's so famous, we all know him, he's going to be fine. And they wait to start voting until the end of the season and you get, sorry, you get screwed because, Like I say sorry on our own podcast. Yeah, you're right.
Starting point is 00:35:39 I can swear. It's our podcast. You can say whatever you want. They're like, oh, no, Taylor's going to be safe. This has happened multiple times on Dancing the Stars. People with these massive fan bases, their fans are like, they're fine, they're fine. I'm going to just watch and enjoy.
Starting point is 00:35:53 I'm not going to text. And then they get voted off. And number three, there is a serious issue with what pros are getting put with what stars. And because, and they, had this problem all along, even when it was like Max and Pita and now it's Jenna and Val, like there are stars that are so famous dance pros, that they have their own fan bases. And so it's like when you have the new pros or someone like Brit that's only been on five, six seasons, like you don't have the fan base that like someone that's been on 15 seasons does.
Starting point is 00:36:26 And so I need to come in and I need to restart it. I need to cut some people's feet off to make it fair. Well, I'll comment because I'm off the show at this point. But I mean, you know, I have no space to be a critic at this point. There's a lot of feelings and there's probably a lot of, you know, probably what you said, there's probably a lot of validity in all of it because this is a show where everybody is on display, you know? So it's not simple.
Starting point is 00:36:54 And I think you have to remember too, like from the point of view of the show, they're creating an entertainment platform, right? Everybody, they're telling a story. And obviously it's a people are voting. but we're just, I think the thing for me, just going into it is really just to recognize the things that are amazing about it, which most importantly, aside from Britain and I going on together
Starting point is 00:37:19 and having this experience, it's very personal, like we did this, we actually did this, it wasn't just TV, like we had to go work and learn this thing, is the energy of the audience, I think, if anything, but I want to say back to all the feelings because I've seen, I've tried to have, but I've seen a lot and I'll be sharing a thank you shout out to everyone is I kind of want to just say all the things you feel yes and yes and thank you and let's take it into like let's take
Starting point is 00:37:49 all that good energy of like you know rooting for good things that you want to see happen that you feel connected to and let's just like take it to the streets like like that's like grab that bottle that and like just make stuff with it. Let's go, let's go like crazy with that feeling because I have had the gift of, I have had a lot of people go on my life journey for a long, long time. And it is an amazing thing to do something and have anybody know what you're doing and have anybody watch what you're making, you know? So that's kind of my takeaway now is like, wow, this is such a positive, I get it, all the venting is valid, you know. But that's not me, I want to talk about what we've done. And I have whiplash myself. Like we're, we're, we're, I'm in
Starting point is 00:38:36 total like, I got to get my neck readjusted, you know, but I have a question for you. Taylor seems very well adjusted. He was a child star. We don't normally experience this type of headiness and groundedness with a child. Sorry, is this an act right now? What's happening? You know what? It is not an act at all. This is, you know, the Taylor that you are speaking to right now. That's the, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, um, it's the tailor that I got into the room every single day. And it's what really was our first bond, our, like, common ground is that we both show up in a space as our authentic selves. And then if there's alignment there, there's alignment there. And if there's not, there's not. And lucky for us, there was a whole
Starting point is 00:39:21 bunch of alignment. So, um, no, this is not, this is not an act. He is, he is very well spoken, but not PR trained. Like, this is, this is, this is Taylor. And I remember there was one person on the press line that asked me like, well, what is it, what does it like to have just extremely positive partner all the time? And, um, and I didn't really know how to answer it because I was like, I think it might be a mirror. I think that might be a reflection of myself. Like a lot of people are like, how do you stay positive all the time? And I'm just like, I think both of us come from a place of gratitude. And yes, there's things that happen in life and there's ups and downs and ebbs and flows. And, you know, it can give you whiplash sometimes like both of us are feeling today. But we both
Starting point is 00:40:07 come a place of this grounded, you know, gratitude. And so, yeah, now that you're getting the real deal, Kelti, it's the real deal. You guys are so lucky to have each other. I feel like, especially for you, but you've probably gotten some really curveballs when it comes to partners. You know what? I've been pretty lucky. I've been pretty lucky. I, there's personalities all the time. And you meet people where they are. And dancing with the stars can be wildly vulnerable. Or not can be, it is. It is an incredibly vulnerable experience for people that come onto our show. And sometimes it really brings out the best in people. And sometimes it doesn't. And so you just meet people where they're at. But I've been pretty lucky that I've, I've gotten some good guys. That reminds me, it's kind of like the Saturday Night Live host. I've heard so many of the cast members from Saturday Night Live be like,
Starting point is 00:41:15 that's a scary thing to do as a host. And like, you see people at their worst and at their best. And it's like, sometimes it's not so pretty. And it's because it's so vulnerable. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. And also, you know, not only is it vulnerable, but you're spending hours with one person. And it's like you meet them and then immediately you're like, come in close, get into frame. And so it is, you know, it is, yes, it's very vulnerable. It's a very opening experience. They should make a reality show about it. Yeah, that's so funny. They should make a TV show, don't you think? It would be really interesting.
Starting point is 00:41:55 It would be really interesting television. The show of the show. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

N-U-N-A-Baby.com. You're listening to the lady gang. What I want to know, Taylor, is what does it like to have seven children? That seems horrid.
Starting point is 00:46:18 Oh, that's terrible. That's a terrible thing to say. Seven children? What car do you drive? She's scared of even having one child. Well, we'll talk about that later. We'll talk about your connection to your humanity later. But.
Starting point is 00:46:32 I 100%. Weird because we just had a conversation about your humanity. I did some foster work with children at Disney World this past weekend. And I felt very close to humanity. But I'm back being normal me. Do you drive a van with like a thing on the back, like that you put some kids in the RV? How do you get these children from where they need to go? Well, first of all, I had started and started as a young dad.
Starting point is 00:46:57 So I, you know, I've kind of grown up with my kids. So a lot of them, you know, a lot of that experience, it's not like you have, you know, seven people in, you know, diapers. You know, I mean, this is a life. This is my oldest son has like a bigger beard than I do. I mean, he, so I, you know, kids are amazing. Humans are amazing. I mean, humans are also a pain, you know.
Starting point is 00:47:17 But to like, I would, I have spent my whole life as an artist. And when you have, you know, children, it's like, We talk about starting with nothing and having something. I mean, that's what family is. It's you, you're there for the whole thing. And you watch it all, you watch go from zero to, you know, these people. Like, these are not, like, theoretical, you know. It's much like we're talking about the dance process.
Starting point is 00:47:39 Like, no, we actually raise these people. Like, they have all the personality. So it's chaotic. I mean, I married an amazing woman and she's put up with me. And we've had fun. And life, you know, the way I've approached life, and again, I'm back to even, you know, what we've done in this show is I really don't do the middle very well at anything. I'm like, I really like, I really like the beginning and the birth and the idea of the
Starting point is 00:48:07 possibilities and I really like going all the way to, like, let's go in. The like, you know, the sort of like soft, you know, kind of daily just getting there is, you know. So why not have seven? You know, let's just go. You know what's so funny. I told my husband we were interviewing you today and he goes, oh, I went to middle school and high school with his wife.
Starting point is 00:48:32 Oh, were you serious? Yeah, and he's friends with her younger brother. I was like, well, way to bury the lead. Well, there you go. Barry the lead, yeah. Yeah, I mean, I've grown up with, you know, families of blast. It is chaos. It's a mess.
Starting point is 00:48:46 You know, it's challenging. but it's the greatest gift there is, you know, to have people. I mean, I just call my kids my favorite people. I mean, they just are. You know, and I think maybe there's just a whole conversation around that, which is it's not about a number, you know, everybody, I mean, legitimately, with family, with kids, with projects, you know, it's whatever is in front of you, you can make really, you can make the whole thing, or you can have it be, you can have lots of
Starting point is 00:49:18 things, right? But at some point, there's like, there's a ceiling, like, there's a max of what you're going to be able to create. But I think what happens particularly with kids and frankly, what happens when you really put your heart into something, this is going to sound really cheesy, but it's actually true, is you actually, you know, it's like the Grinch. Your heart actually grows. You actually expand your capacity to do stuff. And, you know, I've experienced that because you think, like, how could I possibly, like, have any more room for this other person, you know? And then you meet them and you're like, oh, my God, like, where were you? Like, how did this not, how did I not know you? And I feel that way about, you know, making a new friendship or, you know,
Starting point is 00:50:02 when you, and you're like, you find somebody like, hey, how do we not know each other? That doesn't make sense. Now we do. And so, that's, that's the takeaway with kids. And you have to have a high capacity for chaos, I think. So maybe that's the answer. Which I do not. You know, but I've seen your wall behind you. You have the capacity for a lot. These are photos of me, Taylor.
Starting point is 00:50:26 These are photos of me. I have a book coming out. This is a penis chart where every week I track my book sales. I am very un-evolved as a human. And these are all photos of pictures I've worn on the red carpet. And, oh, there's one of Cher. that's it. There's only room for her.
Starting point is 00:50:45 There's only room for share. Britt, now that you're off, sorry, Taylor, this is going to be awkward for you. I have an idea for you. I need you. So sometimes there has been a little giggle gaggle online. And I'm friends with both of them, Julianne and Derek, so I can razzle them a little. You know, people are like, why is Derek Huff just hopping over the desk doing a solo all the time? You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:51:09 And that's Derek. Like I honestly was at the Emmys with him a few weeks ago. And I work for E. So like we own the glam bot, right? Derek works for extra. That is a competitor of E. And we both walked up to the glam bot at the same time. And Derek went up to that glam bot like, like I own the glam bot.
Starting point is 00:51:28 And I was like, no, bitch, this is my glam bot. Like I should be going. I should be going first. And he's like, no, because he had a plan in his head of what he was going to do. And what he did was a triple pirouet. Okay. He did a triple pirouette in the glam bot, and I was like, honestly, you better go first.
Starting point is 00:51:42 And my point being is that people are like razzing him because they're like, why Derek and Julianna always doing solos? Britt, you are such a fabulous choreographer. I have loved the way you put stuff together. What I want you to do is I want you to come back and I want you to do your choreography of your fun little filler and then I want you to win the Emmy this season. That is what I want for you.
Starting point is 00:52:03 So who do I need to talk to to get you your two minutes of airtime so we can get you that Emmy? There's a bunch of people, but maybe offline we can chat. We'll get this done, by the way. It's the only thing. That's what you deserve. That's what you deserve. After this elimination, which is not okay, the boots down, I need a solo routine duet thing from Brits.
Starting point is 00:52:26 Sorry, Taylor, it's probably not going to be with you. And you're wonderful, though. You did a great job. But I need a solo free minute. I need that Emmy. I'm just putting it out there. That's the only thing that will make this season okay in my soul. Thank you for that, Kelty.
Starting point is 00:52:39 And you know what? That's a good idea. I was still, like, in my head of, like, Taylor. Bye, Taylor. You're out. It's been 12 hours, Taylor. You're out. Okay.
Starting point is 00:52:50 My last question is that I love it. I'm already moving into the distance. I get it. No, no. No, Taylor, a lot of people go on dancing with the stars. I think I love your idea. I love your idea. No, you're going to be in the ballroom now, Taylor.
Starting point is 00:53:03 Like, you'll be clapping for her. I know, be at the Emmys and she'll thank you first. Oh, my God. much for getting kicked off so that I could do this dance to win the Emmy. Okay, a lot of people, the reasons people go on dancing with the stars, it's because their children want them to, which you've been open that your daughter wanted you to go on. And then always there's some like scheming behind the scenes of like, okay, well, if America and 20 million people are going to watch me every week, I should probably do something. So like what is the thing
Starting point is 00:53:28 that you're planning behind the scenes and are you ready to tell us? Is it a reunion? I know you have your other side project and music. Like, what is happening? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, well, I mean, it's not it's not scheming as much but it is yeah it is a new season for me i mean i have been dropping breadcrumbs for a while about sort of a new era and um i'm working on solo music a whole solo everything yes so it's coming um and it's nothing nothing but positive it's you know love and proud of everything i've ever done you know honored you know the legacy of years of work with with my brothers, of course, it's, you know, wonderful thing that I'm so glad I've had, but it's just time.
Starting point is 00:54:09 It's time for, time for a lot of things that I need to do, you know, and this is, saying yes to this was definitely part of, wow, I guess if this is the mindset, I mean, I could say yes to doing this, you know, and this is, what a kind of different look to throw myself in front of the train, so to speak, you know. But so yes, everybody that's watched me or that has reconnected or has been there and was excited should know music is coming maybe sooner than later. And for me, you are telling a story of where you're headed. And part of what I've had in my mind and one of the things I just really, really loved about this process with Britt was I got to see the craft off the TV.
Starting point is 00:55:01 I got to see the craft of this insane art form. And now I'm like, my body wants to like understand like how Fred Astaire did what he did and how, you know, one of my heroes, Michael Jackson, how he moved. Like I want to understand. I'm almost craving understanding that the same way I've craved, studying songwriting and performance and singing and, you know. So there's this whole world that's opened up in my, as an artist where I'm like, man, that's, you lit a fire in me now.
Starting point is 00:55:28 And I have this, I got to put this somewhere. So music is coming, projects are coming, and yeah, exciting. I mean, a lot is around the corner. I'm reneging it. Brits coming, you're going to sing one of the songs, new songs. They want that for ratings. A new song on Dancing with the Stars and Britt is dancing to it and then you're winning the Emmy together.
Starting point is 00:55:51 Oh, my God. Very good. She figured it out. Okay, last question. I know you guys have to go, but I have a final question. We don't call her the evil genius for nothing. Now that you've been on Dancing with the Stars, you've been around all these shirtless spray tan waxed sexual men.
Starting point is 00:56:04 Is the music sexy or is it more like singer-songwritory? Well, I'm not really a spray-tan or a waxed man. But I feel like, is it sexy or is it singer-songwriter? You know, I'm going to let the audience decide that. My favorite music, my favorite music, even though I love, the craftsmanship of just what you consider singer-songwriter. Like my favorite, the things that move me are things with soul, you know, the early Sam Cook
Starting point is 00:56:36 and Ray Charles and I mean, MJ and I mean, all the records that made me wanna make music were when you heard that a voice and a song and it just took you there. And so when I peel everything back, that's what I go to. So that is the big, I would say that's the journey. Now there's, I, I have three bit different projects right now that are, one touches literally on like the dust
Starting point is 00:57:02 of the desert, you know, very, very earthy, very, you know, very quiet. And then I have songs that are very, very soulful and other things. So I would say there's your, there's your point in that direction. All I heard was peeled back. Yeah. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. No, we're so excited for you. You know, Wes, you know, there's a lot of waxing. And yeah, I'm just going to, I'm just going back to, you know, study up with all the male pros to be like, what is your workout routine? Val's never met a button on a shirt. You know what I mean? He just keeps going down. Yeah, exactly. Listen, we're so, I'm so happy you did this. It was a real joy to watch you, justice for Britt. And we can't wait to see what health happens in season. And Brit, you know,
Starting point is 00:57:49 we will vote. I'm an academy. I will vote for you for the Emmys. I will vote. And congratulations on a great run. Thank you. Justice for Britain Tay. And that's it. We will. See you next Tuesday. Thank you.
