Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey guys, it's your Lady Gang, Jack Vanek, Kelty Knight, and Becca Tobin. Thank you so much for subscribing on iTunes, and thanks for supporting the great sponsors who make it possible for us to have this much fun with you every single week for free. Well, what is this? Welcome to the Lady Gang. That's amazing. Say that again. The Lady Gang.
Starting point is 00:00:19 Things are about to change around here. Each week, we catch up with Hollywood's hottest girl posse, Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek. all right so across from me miss kelty knight hello everyone entertainment i'm a television personality hello and her fun fact this week is that she actually started a lady gang in the fourth grade but it was called the pollution solution yeah and we used to go around the neighborhood and clean up the trash so you're not my first lady gang and also i'm embarrassed for myself that you're a douchebag i'm secondhand embarrassed not really i mean it's what did you
Starting point is 00:00:57 you in fourth grade i wasn't i danced to bernie spears oh jack and i were doing the same i always need a project we were living each other's lives are we like the parent trap we are and there was only one lindsey lohan true unfortunately um okay to my right my twin separated by birth jack vanik ceo and clothing designer of jack vanik and i am becca tobin actress did i not get a fun fact oh shit her fun fact is wait what was yours that i've been catfished before oh yeah this blew my mind you've been catfished yeah this was not that long ago it was like a year ago and i matched the guy on tinder and i ended up finding out that he was using somebody's fake photos and saying he was in all these different places and then would always
Starting point is 00:01:46 like make an excuse why we couldn't meet and he ended up being a catfish there's literally a dating book that you need to write when we get famous enough on lady gang because you had the most insane dating experiences of anyone i know oh yeah it was insane it was a long story but how'd you who was it uh i don't know i couldn't you never found out he used a google phone number so his texts were green so i knew that there was something up in the beginning and then he i went back and i google searched his images and it pulled up to somebody else's facebook and then i some girl on a facebook group that i'm in like tracked his ip address when he's like it was all it was some like fbi shit oh my god but i don't know who it ended up being hey jack thanks you didn't kill me thank
Starting point is 00:02:27 god i also didn't send any naughty pictures so that's good well pollution solution where do we go i'll clean them up you need to introduce yourself and do yours i wanted you to say it was time for good week bad week no but you didn't introduce yourself no one cares this is no one cares i'm becca tobin screwing up today do you have a fun fact becca or no i do i'm getting to it she's so type a stop being the president um and my fun fact is every single night before bed i apply lotion to my feet wait oh what kind of lotion your other fun matter is that i can't fold laundry without lotion moisturizer do you do a sock never oh i love to sleep in a sock and lotion can we still be friends no i think it's oh wait oh wait did you know okay well because i
Starting point is 00:03:15 think that people that wear socks to bed are psychopaths me too oh my god you guys are so mean so scott wears socks to bed only socks like even if he sleeps naked he's wearing socks yeah i like to have a sock to bed you're a psychopath i bet you that ted bundy loved socks i'm like i just bet so i googled and ted bundy's socks and he had a sock obsession he had 365 pairs of socks shut your mouth he collected socks shut up yeah the reason i wear socks when i sleep or when i'm like camping is because i don't like my toes to like touch the sheets because they're uneven i need like a safe place for my food to rest i don't want to talk about feet your toenails are uneven no not my toenails but like you know when you get in a bed and there's like wrinkles in the
Starting point is 00:03:56 sheets oh you mean the sheets the sheets and the blanket can like cause different fabric to be touching in different places i want yeah i want like a safe place i don't like talking about feet wow that's weird okay i feel like the longer the lady gang goes on the more you realize that like maybe i shouldn't be a part of it you've duped us you're like hey thanks thanks for making our notes every week but you're out what if we kicked you out you're like thanks for starting at kelty and we've ridden your coattails but you're out farewell all right that could have been my bad week but it's time for good week yes it is bad week oh no kelty do you want to start yeah i do president kelty wants to start oh geez here we go um okay first of all my good week let's start
Starting point is 00:04:41 off good i today my good week happened today thank god i got it in time i was at the juice place and i was getting a green juice with apple cider vinegar and ginger in it so i'm being healthy best best body ever at 34 and um the guy and i were talking there's a guy a cute guy he's okay he came in to order a smoothie as well and then we're talking about i say you bowls and i was like how did you say that i say how do you say it acai acai how did you say it acai i don't know how i said it acai bowls we're talking about them and i was like oh they're so good here you should get them but ask them for only half because it's very high in calories and he was like it is yeah oh my god and he looked at me and he goes well you don't have to worry about calories
Starting point is 00:05:22 and that's so nice i love when people refer to me as being thin yeah it was so nice it doesn't happen a lot now i was such a heifer i was like oh that's anyway that was really nice did you hug him no i i think honestly i was so in shock i went in at here's what happened i was so in shock i said something stupid and then when i was walking home later my brain was ticking and it was like here's what you should have said kelty i should have said like the reason i look like this is because i do no no i'm glad that you didn't go with that that doesn't even make sense okay here's my bad week so i had a day off collective gas hallelujah it was amazing and i was hanging my husband is out of town so i was hanging out with one of my favorite gays and he was like let's get
Starting point is 00:06:09 massages and i thought this is the best way ever so we used i'm not going to say which app we use the massage on demand app to come to the house and give us the massages well people say it's fine i used to do it all the time okay yeah so i used one of there's a couple this massage on the go app soothe i'm not gonna say what up because they might want to be our sponsor this is her bad week yeah oh we don't know we don't know what the spot what it was called um and so it's pretty cheap and it's all inclusive like you don't have to tip they just come they set up so the two guy my guy friend wanted a guy and i wanted a guy so the two guys come and they're like who wants who and we're like whatever so of course like the cute guy that looks super inviting goes with my friend into the
Starting point is 00:06:50 living room to set up and then like grizzled man goes upstairs with me say gender preferred female no i like a male was he hot you're weird should i not have a female i like a man because i feel like they massage harder i don't think in a private in your home he can kill you healthy i made an error okay that was my first error so then we set up in the room everybody is so nice it's like a murdering app so we set up in the room and it's sort of warm with the windows open so he's massaging me and as he's massaging me i'm like oh this this massage feels kind of weird because his arms like you know when they do the arm stroke so much hair and then he was like kind of sweaty and then so he's as he's massaging me he's like a huge afro and like i could feel the
Starting point is 00:07:34 droplets of his like face sweat dropping on my body as he was massaging me and he was like how is everything and like what i mean to say like stop sweating on me you gross pig like i was just like great and it wasn't even that good of a massage and anyway so it's a real bummer that's i had one day off one chance to get a personal massage in my home this is why you should get women i guess i'll get yeah i don't know but they're tiny johnny depp hands no i've had the best massages from like petite women yeah that's their job you'd hope they're decent at it don't judge people from their size kelty stop hating women kelty jesus women can be a masseuse um jack okay so my good week um my i know everybody is like really concerned about you know my whole
Starting point is 00:08:22 uh birth control situation it's been ongoing almost this entire podcast it's an epic i would like everybody to know that my copper iud is awesome the only thing that sucks is my periods have gotten way worse but i've discovered the most amazing thing in the world to help my cramps what is it marijuana yep is it yep so i'm thinking about starting to smoke weed no i cannot smoke weed no you should you should not i also cannot i uh will crawl into a corner and have a panic attack and think that i'm dying and i can feel my legs breathing like it's i can't smoke okay but wait so what are you doing for the cramps so they have there's this brand called phoria so they make weed lube yeah and so they just came out with these little weed suppository things that you you
Starting point is 00:09:06 put on the like the top of a tampon and you put it up there and then in like 20 minutes my cramps were gone gone that's incredible and you don't get high or anything it's just like it helps with the pain question i had this weed cream for like sore joints and muscles and i did it one day someone i worked with used it all the time she's like oh put this on i forget what body part so i did it and then a couple hours later i was like did someone shoot me with a tranquilizer i was so tired really yeah because i guess it like goes into your your blood yeah i don't see i don't did you get tired no did you get the munchies in your vagina no but it does make your like vagina feel nice and like tingly i felt a little bit weird like slightly weird but i didn't know if it was
Starting point is 00:09:52 because i was slightly hung over and i drink a bunch of coffee or i'm gonna have to try a few more times i'm excited honestly i think weed could be the saver of a lot of things it is i support i want it legalized everywhere i just freak out if i smoke it i think it's great for everybody else okay so that was a good week that was a good week that's incredible break yeah yes i really appreciate you following the rules this week jack you know what you know what i started doing i'm saying good week and then i do it because i think you did good because you get stressed out if i don't say which is which the pollution solution gets stressed out i've made this a note to do this bad week so the gas in my apartment went out because my roommate changed her credit card and
Starting point is 00:10:29 the payment didn't go through so the gas company decided that they they didn't have an appointment to fix the gas for a week so we are not having gas for a collective week it's been like four days so number one i've been taking freezing cold showers but i've mastered the 20 second shower good girl jumping in and jumping out and washing my hair in that 20 seconds but so i also obviously cannot dry my clothes because the dryer doesn't work oh my gosh and i'm going to see scott tomorrow so i'm like okay i gotta do laundry but i have to literally air dry everything so i have to air dry my towels i have to air dry everything so i'm like trying to live down the street from each other you can come over and borrow my dryer i know and i also was in orange county i could
Starting point is 00:11:09 have done it my parents but i'm just lazy and i don't want to go anywhere i also was going to try to start showering at the gym because they have warm water but then i got too lazy to do that so lazy to be crazy literally too lazy to function as a human being so i'm like hanging up all my clothes i don't have that much room in my apartment i have towels everywhere so i'm like okay i bring my underwear outside and i like hang them like 20 pieces on a hanger and i'm like okay put one up and i hang the other underwear as i go to like hang up my second one i knock off the first hanger of my underwear it goes flying off my balcony onto the sidewalk where a man in a suit is just walking by shut and it just flies right in front of him what did he do do you pick it up
Starting point is 00:11:52 well he like kind of stepped like on one of the underwear and then he started sort of looking around and i ducked down before he could find that it was me he probably felt like a rock star he's like yeah yeah signing him that yeah so what do you are you gonna get them back um i went and i picked him up after yeah and you rewashed i'm not gonna throw him away right i'm not gonna throw too good just made sure he didn't take one with him but he didn't so sorry it was his lucky his good week my slightly embarrassing week good week embarrassing week that's what we got today you know what you were so close jack also it was so slightly embarrassing so close slightly embarrassing bleak week um okay it's like a 70 mine's a little bleak also so i my bad week i'm
Starting point is 00:12:37 going to start with i since moving into the new home it's been like months and months of just drama like you know getting rid of furniture buying new furniture selling stuff on craigslist selling stuff on cool trendy apps that they have now for selling things well here's what i'm going to say i thought i was being so good about selling my furniture and actually getting a little bit of money back because it's nice stuff it's in good condition and it's like i can use that money towards my new stuff being very like frugal i appreciate you yeah yeah well i learned my lesson i put my old bed frame and a mattress that i had for maybe two months like not used spotless i put it on this app what app can i say it i mean i don't even i don't want your stuff if you want
Starting point is 00:13:27 to sponsor us but let go you know those commercials for let go and everybody's like why are you still holding on to that pop tart from 1997 here let's list it and they like take a photo and he's like i made five dollars okay from a pop tart it's like their their ad campaign is that it's a thing it's a thing like where you have to get rid of your things okay so i was like okay this is kind of cool you just like list it it's super easy you don't have to deal with craigslist this guy contacts me oh no this woman contacts me about my my bed i go through the she runs the rigmarole yes of like every question she she asked me 8 000 questions so finally she's like okay my husband's gonna come get it after work today so it's like great um this guy calls me
Starting point is 00:14:10 when he gets there and and he is an idiot like straight up idiot i've never heard of anyone like i asked him where what's your status because he was also super late and he's like i i don't know any and i was like well where are you coming from he goes somewhere and i'm like so i'm about to get murdered or you're the biggest idiot i've ever met which turns out he's the biggest idiot because i'm still alive and breathing so he comes to pick it up in a honda civic on a moped worse this is worse he's 500 pounds at least and he looks at me and he goes this mattress is too soft and i was like your your wife should have asked me like and i said the type of mattress that it was so you could google that and he's like i'm fat and my wife is fat
Starting point is 00:14:56 and i was like oh my god i was like you said that he said that and i was like first of all thank you for acknowledging it because sometimes you see fat people and it's like the elephant in the room oh my god they're the elephant in the room this is the best thing i've ever heard this is his only redeeming quality you're ignoring the elephant in the room you are the elephant i'm gonna go to hell okay i'm already there you're there so he's like i'm fat and my wife is fat she's as fat as I am and I was like if I didn't want your $600 so badly I would be laughing right now instead I was like okay well it's not really it's not really a soft mattress you're gonna need to sleep on the floor if you're worried about the softness and then I said
Starting point is 00:15:42 I go well it's one of those hybrid like um regular mattress and then like the Tempur-Pedic pillow whatever and i go well this one actually should be better there's no springs in it meaning like you can't break springs oh my god but i wasn't really i was just like trying to sell it i was trying to be a salesman why do you why do you hate the app that because it sends idiots and then the rest of my week it's not the app's fault that's like me being like i hate craigslist because one person got killed i had another i had another thing with a printer i was This was stupid of me. I got carried away.
Starting point is 00:16:22 Wait, hold on. Before you move on, what happened with the mattress? Did he buy it? Oh, no. It gets better. He's like, I got to go call my girl. I'm like, your wife? She told me her, whatever.
Starting point is 00:16:31 And he's like, I got to go call her and see what we should do. And then he goes down to the elevator. He just left. He freaking left. Oh, my God, Becca. Okay, we need to just move on. You know what? Anyway.
Starting point is 00:16:44 Becca's going to give herself a heart attack. It's so rude. i should i i literally paid him with my time he didn't pay me for shit no he should have paid you five he could have just taken the the bed frame but he wasn't smart enough to know that he should take the bed frame because he was coming from somewhere and he didn't know how long it was going to take him to get you know what i did uh this week i had two little chairs i want to get rid of what do they look like uh it's like a chase lounge i just put them with a sign that said free and i put them on the corner of my street yeah but they were gone in a minute i also don't want
Starting point is 00:17:14 to carry it like i just want someone to come make it easy and i'm giving you a deal yeah well anyways i got really cocky because then someone else did end up buying it and i was like it's not so bad like that was great i made so much money and then i was like a printer i put a printer on for like nobody wants a printer they can go no they all want they all want a printer but they all want to come and test it out and make sure it works and i'm like i don't have time how much how much were you selling your printer for 40 i mean it's not worth your time put it on like You have to stay home for five days straight. I'm just trying to glee residuals.
Starting point is 00:17:48 You're fine. I know, but sometimes I panic. I'm Jewish. I do this. I know, but it's like, I will pay you $40 to just give the person a good will. I did end up giving it away. You did. So I got cocky.
Starting point is 00:18:00 I'm the same way. I'm like, look at this beautiful brass tin I have. I should have a garage sale. This is worth $10. Like, no, it's not. No, I do that shit with clothes. I'm like, oh, I should save this wild fuck shirt that's five years old and try to sell it on Poshmark for like $10.
Starting point is 00:18:12 Listen, Poshmark is the jam, though. my posh mark is you don't have to deal with those people okay well it's coming up nobody coming up and no one wanted to come because they were like becca's too much and we can't ever book anyone again because she hates women and fat people so it's just us when we come back we are going to play a game of lady gang never have i ever and the questions are really intense and so we're going to find out a lot and answer some of your questions too you're listening to the lady gang Okay, so many of you have been asking us on our Lady Gang secret Facebook group, on the site, on our Instagram that, you know, you wanted to get to know us better because we
Starting point is 00:18:51 were just talking to other people and kind of telling little stories. And we thought we would answer a few questions and then play a little sassy game on this episode. So first question for you guys is, how would you, like, what's your favorite way to spend a day? At home? Like at home. If you have a whole day and you just like spend at home, what do you do?
Starting point is 00:19:10 i would leave home and go to the beach and what sounds exhausting go to santa monica that i can't afford to live at get stabbed get stabbed i don't know how i'd spend the whole day but my favorite thing in the entire world to do is sit on a rooftop or outside again rooftop rules jack it's how do you spend your favorite day if someone said you're going to jail for a day the jail cell is your house how would you spend that day you know what i don't want to go back i do not watch netflix i would becca how's your questions boring there's only so many things i think it's great i love being at home what's your favorite way to spend your home well there's two things okay if i'm feeling really peppy organizing and cleaning like staying in my pajamas till like
Starting point is 00:20:01 6 p.m being on my hands and knees like scrubbing my bathroom grout that's fun like that meth commercial oh man oh man she's scrubbing with a toothbrush oh my god no not like that at all i uh so if i'm feeling energetic i love to like get in there yep do a nice but if i'm feeling lazy i just want to watch like netflix and cuddle up with the blanket and like maybe make like something like a pizza in the oven okay i like sparkling water to lay on my couch and watch like the never-ending reruns of fixer-upper on hgtv you want to add that to yours too yeah i did a whole marathon on a tuesday yeah it's amazing um i like to clean my closet organize my drawers and like a swiffer i love to not get out of my pajamas i do too okay your
Starting point is 00:20:52 relationships the good the bad how you get through it all how your marriage or how being married or engaged is different than just being in relationships people have so many breakup and relationship issues i would love to hear the sincerity of you girls in your personal relationship highs and lows are you healthy jack is starting you go first you're married um i will say this i think that there's a lot of people that like especially as women you grow up your whole life and you're like everything will make sense once i get married like once i find my person that suddenly like everything's going to fall into place in your mood, your house, your life is going to look like how you always dreamed it would be. And I think that, you know,
Starting point is 00:21:29 people don't tell you before you get married, that being married is a lot of work. You know, being in a relationship is a lot of work, but when you really say like, you're my person and we're going to do this. And that's why my first marriage failed. Um, is that we were so young and we didn't understand that it was going to be work. And I think there's constant sacrifice. Like my husband was just away for a week and I lived sort of as a single gal for the first time in many many years and I was like oh it's so nice to be able to do whatever you want to do and not worry about like someone waking you up or like what do they need to eat and like all that stuff and you you know it's it's work it's definitely work and I think that um I'm just always happy
Starting point is 00:22:02 I dated a lot of weirdos and I dumped a lot of people and I'm just always happy that I picked someone that um put in an equal amount of work that I did it's not one-sided um I mean I'm not not engaged or married but I would have to say um I'm in a long-distance relationship which is a lot harder than a normal relationship and it is work like it totally is work it's hard and long-distance relationships are it just sucks being away from like your significant other and somebody that you're like in love with and not being able to spend like I mean I haven't seen Scott for three and a half weeks like that's longer than most people ever have to go through not seeing their boyfriend for so i think for me it's communication gets through through everything
Starting point is 00:22:46 and once communication starts like kind of going off the rails like that's when things kind of snowball and become like huge problems so i think communication is good and then it's like yeah it's like devotion and if you guys are actually like in it together and having it very balanced and not having like one side over the other you're the only person i know that has ever given me hope in a long distance i guess you did and i were long distance yeah that's true both of you because i always like i'd been in long distance relationships before and it was horrific honestly it's like if it wasn't scott if it was any other person it would have like fallen apart and there is there's been some freaking really hard spots where it was like yeah if we're not both so damn
Starting point is 00:23:26 into this like it's hard it's not ideal and it's not convenient at all and it's expensive you're not always doing the jack it's not always the jack it's not always the jack but yeah what about you um i'll say that since being and getting engaged we have also bought a house together so that is also um and i wouldn't have bought a house with someone if i was not marrying them just because it gets messy when you decide not to do it anymore um but for me it was like wow that like this is not the sort of thing where one day if i wake up and i'm not feeling it anymore i can walk away from it right so i mean you can but not easily you yeah you can then it's messy um but it also gives me great comfort and knowing that we're just we're doing this like it can be really
Starting point is 00:24:20 shitty it can be great it can be anything but like at the end of the day we always decide that we're gonna work on it like we're always gonna put in the work and the moment one person decides to stop doing the work is i think when it falls apart or what i've witnessed with other you know friends relationships um but actually something that resonated with me so much was one of our podcast was Amanda shul and she said that her, she has great respect for her husband and that's the key. And it's like a mutual respect. And I think that's what it is. It's like, you don't always have to like that person. They could drive you freaking crazy, but you have to respect them. And then everything you do in front of them, behind their back, whatever it is, you're always
Starting point is 00:25:03 just doing it with the utmost respect for that person. Yeah. And I think one thing that resonated with me that you have said that I've like taken into my relationship is when you and Chris I don't know who told who what but it was like we're a team and we're always going to be a team and at the end of the day like you have to be on my side and I always that like always sticks with me whenever I'm having a problem with Scott I'm like no remember we're a team like we have we're in this together sometimes you have to suck it up I was so bad at that it's hard it's hard because sometimes you're like no you're being an actual dick face right now but you have to be like you're my person and so you're my dick face you know and that's hard and it's yeah nobody's perfect
Starting point is 00:25:41 and you're gonna have those kind of problems no matter what but it is good that's what i don't know something fun um everyone wants to know what our coffee orders are i get a matcha uh the biggest you can get matcha um latte with alternative milk like a coconut or a almond no soy milk for me iced black coffee like my heart you drink black coffee uh-huh only black because it makes me poop and i think putting anything else in it for some reason like doesn't make the poop come no i it like messes it up so i'm like i drink coffee for one purpose and that is to move things through my body i like it i don't have a go-to coffee order the london fog well that's like my midday when i don't want to drink coffee you know what i mean but like my actual coffee yeah every morning
Starting point is 00:26:29 just coffee just regular usually but then sometimes i'll do like foam some milk or like whatever but i'm i'm i don't know okay i'm not this is the last question before we get to our game um someone wrote in i would love to hear about the things that have helped your careers the most and super openly like certain relationships jobs ways of communicating books advice so who have we slept she's like a spill bitch what's given you a competitive edge what are things you wish you'd done what would you like to improve on that's a lot of questions well what's given you your competitive edge um i think because we're so successful guys oh talk about our podcast no no in life even though this is super successful we have three million listeners right now oh yeah
Starting point is 00:27:13 i wish um for me i guess what's always given me like my competitive edge and like anything that I've done is being genuine to myself and really trusting my gut when I make decisions, because I've also made a lot of mistakes, especially like, I mean, being an entrepreneur, you're always going to make mistakes if you're doing it for the first time. I've never started a business before. So it's like 90% of the choices that I've made are probably the wrong one. But my consultant actually gave me this advice about like following your gut. And he's like, don't ever let somebody else sway you into making a decision that you didn't feel in your own gut, because then you're going to regret that if it fails but if you're doing something that you feel is right even if it
Starting point is 00:27:55 doesn't turn out to be like the most successful thing like at least you made that decision and for some reason anytime that I actually do end up following my gut and anything that I do business-wise or like relationship or whatever whatever it always seems to work out and anytime I sway away from like the genuineness of my brand is like when it falls to shit or it doesn't work out Becca what are some things you that give you your competitive edge I mean I'm very lazy I'm not too competitive these days but i which is probably why hold on you've had an incredible career you had had had you've had i said you've had an incredible career no you've had you've had an amazing career i mean so many you think so too no yeah so many little girls dream of being
Starting point is 00:28:41 on broadway and like lee was a massive massive show well yeah i mean i'm not gonna lie i joke that i'm lazy and i think that i'm i think what it is is that i started really young and i i worked my ass off like i woke up at six in the morning in the freezing cold new york weather to stand outside of a building to beg people to let me audition for their show that was paying three hundred dollars a week right like i don't even know who that person is anymore but i had the hustle and um i loved it and i think that i did that for so many years and i really did get there was so much richness in my life and I was so happy. And now I don't find my joy from the same thing. And so I had to sort of redirect because the reality of it is, is that you're going to
Starting point is 00:29:29 have a lot of different careers, whether or not it's in the same field. But I think that if you're really successful, you can be flexible and you can also really tune in, hone in on what it is that makes you tick and it can be different and it can change and evolve. So, and it also my competitive edge now is like, it's gone. Like I don't, I don't really compare myself anymore. Um, because I know that like a job that could make me so incredibly happy could make some other girl totally miserable and vice versa. So, I mean, that's probably bad advice, but, um, it's good advice. Anything you wish you'd done differently? Yeah. I wish that I wasn't like, I wish similar to what Jack was saying. I wish I wasn't trying to fit my square peg into a round hole. Like I was trying to be
Starting point is 00:30:18 what everybody else wanted me to be. And like going in for an audition, I'm like, Oh, I can totally make them think I am this like crazy dramatic actress and I'm so intense and I can pull off blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And it's like, the reality of it is, is that's not what i do best and it's not what i even enjoy doing most so it's like i wish i just embraced that sooner and stopped trying to get every little grape off the tree and olive off the tree what is that olive olive branch yeah like get all of the fruit and then instead just like selectively getting the one that makes you happy and what you're good at i love that all right kelty you didn't answer oh um i think my competitive edge is probably that um i am a i always because i'm
Starting point is 00:31:05 such a people pleaser i'm always able to give people very quickly the thing they're asking for before they ask for it so like for instance like there's this meeting coming up and one of my bosses was like everyone come to this meeting and like pitch some ideas and like you know that kelty night has like a full deck with photos and like logos and like have called three brands and like I mean I feel like I've always been able to like go one step ahead but I will say that like I think a little bit of like my personal happiness has been sacrificed because I feel one of the things I like to work on which is one of the questions you ask is like I get like you were saying like a lot of my joy and my self sense of self comes from work because I've just been a workhorse since
Starting point is 00:31:51 I was like a kid like you guys and so I have a hard time finding happiness in like a walk on the beach or like a nice bath because when I'm in the bathtub I'm just thinking about like the to-do list and all the things that I want to do you know and so one of my things in my that I'm trying to work on is just like taking these moments like this week I like took a moment like really played with my dog and tried to be like really present and not like thinking like I need to do all this stuff so I think one of the things like I've seen so many girls come in and test for my job and try to like do what I'm doing. And like, people just only want to do what they're told. And I think if you only do what you're asked to do, you're failing. Like you always have to sort of do more
Starting point is 00:32:29 than you're asked to do. And that's what makes you really stand out, especially in like for people that are going to corporate jobs and stuff. It's like just doing the minimum of what you're asked to do. It's not going to help you much. I also think going off of that, just cause I feel like this was the most helpful thing I ever realized was I'm the type of person that I made myself a roadmap and a timeline and like i would i would envision like these things happening and then when this happens and then when this happens and it's like i'm doing so much planning and looking ahead i'm not living in the moment a and b i'm always disappointed because it never goes that way it's like stop planning so far ahead and stop like making these benchmarks that you have to hit
Starting point is 00:33:09 like just do your best do what you love and like be in the moment i'd like to say before we move on i did that exact same thing in the beginning of my relationship with scott and the same thing would happen where i'd get disappointed because things weren't happening the way that i thought that they were going to happen and i think no matter what aspect of life you're doing that in you have to be present or else it's going to pass you by and things are going to change and you didn't even appreciate it when it happened true i think that's enough deepness for one lady gang yeah we're done that's enough we talked serious and now we're like oh god we hate ourselves okay what's going on now here's the lady gang we're gonna play a game are you guys ready this
Starting point is 00:33:49 is called never have i ever but i want to preface this by saying i don't know this game jack's it was jack's idea and i went online and i found the popular never have i ever questions i legitimately don't know how to play so jack's gonna explain it yeah so not surprising you did not know how to play ditch mary whatever ditch mary stay peace sign whatever we say peace never have i ever basically you go around a room and each well you're supposed to do each person but i guess you're just saying all the questions we'll never have okay i'll say how i don't know jack i don't know don't look at me you do it no let's not waste our time everybody else in this country in this world has played this okay so what do i do so i'm gonna give us an example and you show
Starting point is 00:34:33 me how to play well should we have her just say the never have ever questions or should we each go through and say a question no i'm gonna say all the questions and if you never have you put your hand up or if you haven't say your name we can't put our hands up okay so if you never have i never have so let's do an example so i would say no no never have i ever you do say because never have i ever you like stand up if you've done it so if you've done it laughs at you if you've done it if you've done it so if i say never however i ever been in handcuffs if you've done it you say kelty yeah okay have you are you good i'm not saying kelty you don't know i mean jack what are you saying no i haven't becca no okay that was our example okay here we go you guys
Starting point is 00:35:12 ready a fun game here we go okay never have i ever kissed someone on the first date becca jack a million i don't think i've ever not kissed someone on the first date kelty you never never you've never kissed someone on a first date i don't think so what you didn't kiss chris on the first date did you use a mouth hug no i just got out of the car really fast thanks bye i'm so awkward that's so weird i used to do this thing because i think it's so awkward when you don't kiss on a first date that i if the guy was like nervous but i could tell he like wanted to kiss me but like didn't know what to do and i would just be like are you gonna kiss me or like what's happening and then it would make it happen but what if he didn't want to kiss you he's like
Starting point is 00:35:57 okay never have i ever done it outside becca jack kelty that was easy never have i ever farted and blamed it on a pet becca jack for sure you guys are so gross okay i'm lactose intolerant never have i ever injected or swallowed drugs becca jack kelty what'd you do injected what about snorting yeah what drug was that i don't know what drugs have you done um marijuana the gateway drug cocaine cocaine cocaine and a form of mdma okay jack molly if you I've smoked the pot weed before, obviously. I've done coke. And then many pills.
Starting point is 00:36:46 We don't currently do this, you guys. No, I haven't said anything. If I did coke right now, my heart would explode. I would die. Yeah. Okay. I've never done coke ever. Really?
Starting point is 00:36:56 Good. You would love it. Don't. Don't start now. But you know what? It might calm her down, like how Adderall calms down an ABD person. No, Jack. Cocaine is actually universal.
Starting point is 00:37:06 One molecule away from Adderall. It's true. Cocaine is Adderall. I don't know anyone who chills out with Adderall. I don't know anybody. I don't either. I think that's a lie. It's bullshit.
Starting point is 00:37:15 I've done acid. Acid? Excuse me? Wait, I'm sorry. When? I was like 16. In Canada? We went to the West Edmonton Mall.
Starting point is 00:37:27 Yeah. You did acid in a mall? Yeah. What happened? At a amusement park. I kept seeing people wearing weird colored pants. Nothing really. I mean, it was just-
Starting point is 00:37:36 Was it acid? Yes, it was. It was a lot of colors and weirdness, for sure. Or are they actually wearing green hats? Oh, I've eaten mushrooms. I've done mushrooms. But not enough to like hallucinate, just to be like happy. Oh, I saw like the man in the moon like come down and like hop on the fence and stuff on
Starting point is 00:37:49 mushrooms. Yeah. Mushrooms as well. I'm terrified of drugs. I did. Oh, I love ecstasy. Honestly, I would do ecstasy again. I haven't done drugs in a very long time.
Starting point is 00:37:57 But like ecstasy is amazing. Well, the new designer version is Molly. And then I've just smoked, like I've smoked weed, but I don't like smoking weed. I hate weed. It makes me so tired and hungry. It makes me very anxious. Now that we've really, I hope we never get famous. Don't go do any of these things.
Starting point is 00:38:09 honestly honestly all of it's overrated in my opinion i just don't like i only like drinking and maybe xanax oh a nice xanax on airplane is nice okay um every night never have i ever had sex in the back of a pickup truck a pickup truck what state are we kelty what it must be a canadian country thing i had sex in the back of a pickup truck that sounds like i was up high school sweetheart your white truck you know who you are okay here we go never have i ever lied about my birthday just to get a free dessert becca jack but mine wasn't to get a free cheesecake cake factory i think i was at like benihana and i wanted to do like the the flaming onion oh that sounds that's i don't know benihana is that out no that's out back oh here's a good one
Starting point is 00:38:52 never have i ever fantasized about a friend's partner i can't think of any buddy's partners that i think are hot i can't either okay well we're good friends you know what that means we're good friends um never have i ever been walked in on by my parents doing what having sex writing and brushing my hair are you sure i was getting fingered by my like middle school boyfriend and my parents came walking down in the basement i don't think they knew what i was doing though they probably did they probably did actually yeah they did okay it's fingered a finger bang remember when that was so pleasurable i like it you still like yeah a lot actually like scott will stick his fingers in your vagina and like just yeah not just do that you can do a
Starting point is 00:39:40 lot of stuff with your finger no but i'm talking about like the good old-fashioned fingering where they don't even know where your clitoris is at that point oh no they're just sticking it up yeah yeah no that's not that pleasurable i used to love it okay anyways um never have i ever fooled around in the stockroom while on a job i've never had a job with a stockroom neither have i no have you ever fooled around at a job yeah becca no my my i have women employees okay um never have i ever rented a porno rented like in a hotel room yeah just from like the 90s watched a porn watched a porno becca chuck kelty what was your theme do you remember have you watched many i've only watched one it was gross um i watched a couple i watched one because i met a girl who was a
Starting point is 00:40:30 who had been a porn star and i wanted to see her work oh i mean i've watched a few porns but i there was this guy that was in our friend group growing up and he hid it from everybody that he was doing gay porn for like five years wow and then it finally came out it's intense never have i ever taken the morning after pill becca becca becca becca kelty kelty kelty okay you know what it is a great pill if you get in a jam don't wait no pun intended you get jammed i love the morning after pill okay so fun never have i ever been fired from a job oh i got fired okay i've only had one job before i started my clothing line and i worked at old navy for three weeks and i got fired because
Starting point is 00:41:27 i went on spring break and didn't tell anybody well there you go that guy have you ever been fired no i like being dumped similarly i am a great employee i'm also a great girlfriend no one ever gets rid of me i don't think i've been fired but the rockets did not ask me back okay that's not a firing that's just a oh you're back for an audition we're not hiring you it's hurtful that's like kind of a little salty about that never have i ever gone to jail we're such good citizens we are so good never have i ever gotten so sick i swore off a particular type of alcohol kelty malibu rum oh back up but i swore it off for like a couple months maybe and then you're back what was it um several things tequila i've been through that vodka i've been through that
Starting point is 00:42:11 oh you know what on my 21st birthday some idiot gave me a shot of wild turkey oof i don't even know what that is no me neither with tabasco oh god god um to this day jack mine bacardi limon since i've been 16 uh what was that captain morgan oh maybe that's captain captain morgan is such like a man old man drink i used to drink captain morgan too uh dr pepper when i was like 16 years old what okay never have i ever had sex with more than one person at the same time at this so like a three an orange threesome threesome okay well we're still good girls you've never had a threesome never do i look like somebody said kind of like like a surprising one like because you were in vegas for so long oh i know mel b asked if she could lick my vagina
Starting point is 00:43:00 in a bathroom healthy let me lick your vagina she's serious yes she is i think they were i had a cute vagina i'm okay i don't understand that i took it as a compliment weird request never have i ever slept with a co-worker becca kelty i have female employees okay um never have i ever stolen from a friend kelty oh wait this is so bad becca okay go she wasn't a friend actually okay i stole some lip gloss when i was young out of a girl's drawer yeah and i was playing at her house bitch what'd you steal when i was like 12 like i think was the year my dad lost his job and we didn't have like a lot of money and i didn't get any like new clothes that year i think i don't really remember i used to wear a lot of hand-me-downs and like i went this is so embarrassing i'm such
Starting point is 00:43:46 a bad person but i really learned from it i was like in this girl's like room and like i took a shirt and i put it on under my shirt and i wore it out of her house oh my god that's like a blatant steal and then yeah it was a steal it was a full steal and then i wore it and then i saw her and i was wearing the shirt and she was like that's my shirt and she knew and i got caught and that taught me to never steal again and i haven't stolen since then could you guys like have a stealing phase when you're yes in junior high yeah i never shoplifted or anything i didn't oh i think we i've talked about this on one of our podcasts but my cousin did but i never did i was too scared but everybody did yeah everyone like i know but i think from abercrombie and stuff abercrombie
Starting point is 00:44:27 yeah well you're we didn't have that we had a walmart abercrombie what did i say she's like it's competition with their graphic tees we don't speak their name okay never have i ever watched animal porn what like people doing animals i have watched that video say your name of jack of the guy who let the horse and he had sex with him and then he died yeah why did you die because the penis was too big the horse penis is like three feet long and it's like huge and he put it in his butt and impaled him like through his whole body like through his stomach i don't watch the video i don't know how we ended up it was with like a group it wasn't like i was watching it for my personal so you have say your name oh mecca kelsey i have sex with the horse every night
Starting point is 00:45:14 and i'm fine okay never you're welcome zach okay never have i ever thrown up on a perfect stranger i don't know i'm not like a big puker i'm not either i have to like make myself puke if i'm like drunk okay never have i ever had sex with someone more than twice my age more than twice my age more than no no close to you have when you're how old though 30 now he's 70 the thing is is that now you're like oh that's an appropriate age for me to have sex with but when you were young no no more than twice your age would be 70 wait not now when you're 20 it would be 40 right yeah i don't think so i did i don't think i did okay no well that was exciting is the game done that's the end of the game okay what do you think i just fell asleep you did no i thought we
Starting point is 00:46:03 learned a lot about each other that was good actually yeah yeah so when we come back we are going to answer some of your questions because we are tired of talking about ourselves ask the lady gang welcome back guys before we start ask the lady gang if you want 20 off of your jackvanek.com order use code lady gang and just an fyi it only works once per email so if you want to cheat the system sign up with a different email and you can make more purchases oh jack you're such a nice friend i'm a giver okay so if you guys have a question you can write in on our website theladygang.com or to helloladygang at gmail.com and we are going to help you live your life okay so our first question comes from christine on email she says my ex of
Starting point is 00:46:53 one year reached out asking if we can be friends he doesn't like not knowing about my life quote unquote and wants to be able to talk to me am i being unreasonable not wanting to be friends with him we do share many friends in common but if we're at a party or event i just avoid him does the lady gang think you can ever truly be friends with your no no go on ibeka i know you have a rant go i don't really have a rant for this one but like no also especially if you just don't want to be his friend like if this is not you wanting to try to be friends with him then do whatever you want you have no responsibility for your ex you guys broke up he is not part of your life anymore he sounds like a pussy he does sound like a pussy and also he doesn't like not knowing about
Starting point is 00:47:37 your life because he's jealous or like really interested and wants to make sure that you're still a little bit in love with him but also he doesn't like not knowing about your life but like you're not in my life anymore dude like yeah so you don't get to know about my life yeah you're not in my life that's the reason why we broke up so that's a no i think you can be friends with your ex if it takes some time i think if both and if you want to be friends with the ex i've never been friends with an ex before i don't think i have either i'm like friendly ish on facebook with like a couple like guys that i dated or whatever and it didn't end badly or whatever like my high school sweetheart like you're married with kids we're part of our each other's
Starting point is 00:48:12 childhood we knew each other for a decade you know it's like a little different it's too hard for my exes to see me of course oh my god you're such a dick okay the next question's long and i haven't read through it so godspeed godspeed jack our next question comes from katie she says one of my best friends is getting married next month and i am the maid of honor sorry sucks for you to spare the details i've spent over 1200 on this wedding from the bridal shower to destination bachelorette party and everything in between barf for every other wedding i've been in none of the bridesmaids have given the bride and groom a wedding gift aka money to cover our plate however all the bridesmaids in this wedding are talking about giving the bride 500 for a gift
Starting point is 00:48:51 i don't make a lot of money and i'm freaking out over what to do if i could i would give my friend all the money in the world but i'm completely over budget already for this wedding what should to do um here's the thing i don't think you have to do anything and you just politely say it's just really not on my budget to be get in on this gift and i think when you're in someone's wedding party it really does give you the opportunity to not be like here's a check or like here's a pot like if you want like if you don't have the money write a nice letter get them like a memento gift like it's fine but don't go broke for your friend's wedding when you've already done everything and your friend if she's really your friend i mean you are the maid of honor she's gonna understand
Starting point is 00:49:31 i have a great idea what is it what if you did like an american express card but didn't put money on it and then they get it and they're too embarrassed to reach out and or they get so many of those that they like put them all together and it gets mixed in there and they don't they don't know i think that's a pretty good solution that's a pretty good solution because who's gonna call Like, if you got married and you did know that Kelty gave you an American Express card and then I go to buy something and it's not working, I would never, ever, ever call Kelty and be like, can you re-put on money, please? Hey.
Starting point is 00:50:06 You're right. That is a good out. It is. That's a good out. Tell me if you try it. Anybody. If anyone uses that advice. I think it's great.
Starting point is 00:50:13 You're welcome. I don't have any advice past that. I'm a con artist. That sucks. Okay. I also think, like, ladies, can we all really, like, keep it in budget? Like, don't ask your friends to be in your bridal party and then be like, it's going to cost you $3,000.
Starting point is 00:50:26 like it's so I have six weddings in the next nine weeks but it's like no one really asked me to be in their wedding so I'm feeling like maybe I'm just a b-list friend to everyone um but maybe they heard the podcast and they know that I don't want to be in the wedding maybe but I don't know I just think like let's all be chill let's save our money and buy houses and shoes go on a tangent here okay this is how I feel about when somebody texts me and says hey I'm doing a birthday dinner or like we're doing a birthday dinner like for me or my significant other whatever um y'all come and celebrate i'm sorry but like as an adult with jobs if you don't pay for your friend's dinner like if it's my birthday i'm paying for all those people's dinner who came to celebrate my birthday
Starting point is 00:51:13 or doing something nice for the people who show up for me it's like after a certain age you can't be like a birthday brat and expect all these people to come to your birthday dinner and throw down hundreds of dollars because it's your freaking birthday and it's like an asshole we all have one like it's really annoying to me when you go to someone's birthday dinner and then the check comes and then everybody's like we're gonna treat the birthday girl i like that i think it's freaking stupid becca we're not coming to your birthday dinner i would pay for it you should come i'm coming i would i like when i go both ways are fine and i think if if you're the birthday person birthday girl and you want to have a big dinner if it's your idea yes if you're planning
Starting point is 00:51:53 it that's what i'm saying it's like your friends are like trying to throw up for you like i hate my birthday i would never throw a big birthday dinner yeah but if you're yes but then so if somebody else threw it for me i wouldn't be like no i get that but it's like how you approach it like i'm going to i'm getting people together to do dinner for my birthday well you better pay bitch i think everybody just needs to realize not everybody has a ton of money all the time and it's awkward to talk about money with your friends it is and it's like if you're having all these like destination things like you need to realize that that costs like thousands of dollars for people and a lot of people definitely like thousands of dollars to spend oh i'm 15 grand
Starting point is 00:52:27 out this fall going to people's weddings because it's like santa barbara hotel gift you know it's like gas it's i mean it's expensive destination anything you shouldn't have no you should not get gifts like the gift is the person paying for a flight yes really uh-huh i think it's totally tacky because people are flying there they're putting their they're spending money on what they're wearing they're paying for the hotel like it's it's expensive like and i also think if you're a bride and you don't say to your bridesmaids hey if you can't afford to buy your bridesmaids their dresses and their shoes and whatever if you don't say to your bridesmaids listen i know that this is expensive please don't any of you get me a gift you're an asshole yeah like you're an asshole if
Starting point is 00:53:07 you expect your bridesmaids or if you buy the $300 dress and then get you a pot you should say you should write them all a letter and say please please you've done enough i appreciate all of you you just being there supporting me on this day is enough please also that bridesmaids give get like i feel like maybe you should never give a gift if you're a bride you shouldn't have to i think you're spending the most money i think that it has to be a thing so like if you're having a destination wedding and you're expecting everyone to come to your destination your bridesmaids then maybe be like hey all the bridesmaids are wearing white so they already have a dress or all the bridesmaids wearing black just wear your own dress you shouldn't make them wear get but like
Starting point is 00:53:43 you can't add it on top of each other so like pick am i buying the flight am i buying the dress am i buying you a gift yeah yeah pick yeah yeah so anyway lady gang rule there's no advice for your for you but there's advice for your friend getting married yeah should we write a book yes about lady gang advice lady gang life yeah but it needs to be a little bit more curated than this advice but we could do like on weddings on relationships oh i like this idea we should yeah and it would be good once we think about it you know what it's like updating the rules of society like yeah you know what i mean like they're don't put this in there wait no no this is the end we're going to talk about it after it's news coming soon everyone's coming maybe
Starting point is 00:54:22 we're writing a book okay maybe the last question comes from melanie she says i used to think i was a self-confident person however ever since i started dating my boyfriend over a year ago i've been constantly comparing myself to his exes because i feel like they're prettier slash more successful slash just better than me he constantly tells me that he loves me and and that he thinks i'm beautiful and ambitious but i can't help feeling not as good as his previous girlfriends do you have any tips on overcoming insecurities learning how to love yourself and not comparing yourself to your boyfriend's previous lovers becca have you ever compared yourself to your boyfriend's previous lover never see but this never but that's why you're fine i just you can't
Starting point is 00:55:02 compare yourself to people you'll make yourself go freaking insane if you're constantly stalking his exes comparing yourself to his exes like you just have to put on blinders and he's obviously with you and not them for a reason and he loves you and obviously their relationship didn't work out so who freaking cares what they're doing amazing so one day when chris and i had first moved i moved into chris's house first when we first started dating not when we first started but after and i was cleaning out the closet and like i came across the drawer the drawer of like all of x's past i wish zach were sensitive like that i really need to freaking chuckle what was in there mine it was like well his old dancer was like his old dancer his old girlfriend was like
Starting point is 00:55:42 an actress or a dancer or something too you have a type chris knight oh you came across his yeah his drawer and it was like her headshots and like he had this girlfriend that lived in australia and her family is like real richie richie and owned this big resort so he was like always in australia on the beach and like all these amazing photos and i was like wait i think it's so weird that keeps this stuff it was right when they but we just started dating like i think everyone has like a memento box of like i don't know i have mine right everyone i think i throw away yeah i do not but i will say this um when i had a breakup one time um i got like much like you melanie i got really obsessed with my person's new girlfriend like we had broken up and then they started
Starting point is 00:56:28 I did that once. And I was like looking at, I mean, I never followed her, but I was like looking at her every day on her Instagram and Twitter and Googling her and like watching videos of her. And I was like, what does she have? Why is she so cool? And it really, I fell into a K hole of like, I really am worthless. I really am not cool. I'm not pretty. I'm not sexy. Like, of course he dumped me. Well, of course I had to leave him cause he was cheating on me because, um, because i didn't get dumped um because like who would want to be with me when you could be with this person i think yeah but then i realized that like yeah then i realized that like i don't know i i think there's someone that's gonna think you're their dream person and this guy clearly melanie thinks
Starting point is 00:57:11 you are he's like telling you i love you i think you're beautiful i think you're ambitious i think you're amazing you just have to listen to him and don't get so crazy that it's a turnoff also i have a great story great this was i got like hung up on a guy's new girlfriend after we broke up but you dumped him yeah of course but it doesn't matter i was still kind of like and so she like she had like a great career better career than me at the time at the time hey there hey um and she was really pretty and also like a very similar type to me but in my mind like probably i'm like an eight she was like becca if i were a nine so she was like you know and and i just was obsessing and i'm like does he think when he goes home to her every day like i got dumped by
Starting point is 00:57:57 becca and i got the hotter version of her and i just the more successful bubble i i did this whole thing i spiraled and then he he and this girl broke up i ran into him later down the line and he told me she had a smelly vagina oh who's winning now god is fair god is fair God is fair You're gonna be okay girl Alright on that note We really answered a lot of your questions I'm pretty sure
