well what is this welcome to the lady gang that's amazing say that again the lady gang
things are about to change around here each week we catch up with hollywood's hottest girl posse
kelty knight becca tobin and jack vanik hello hello hello welcome to lady gang podcast i am
becca tobin here with jack vanik and kelty knight i don't think you've ever said the podcast before
I just needed everyone to know that this is an audio medium.
Oh, yes.
Welcome.
Coming to you live from Florida.
Destin.
Florida.
We're.
Hell of a drug.
I did think it was Denton.
Yeah.
Jack kept saying it's Denton, Florida.
And I was like, what?
But what?
Did you ever figure out what Denton is?
Yeah, it's in Texas.
There's a Denton, Texas.
Oh, I thought it was the stuff that you, is before plaque.
the dentin in your mouth i don't even know what you're talking about like the dentin is like when
you eat a sweet and you don't brush your teeth before you go to bed and then the dentin
gets hurt and it turns into plaque into molars into cavities i'm so so 50 50 wait there is
dentin hypersensitivity wait a painful condition that occurs in the inner dentin layer of a tooth
gets exposed you know what as someone who that's shocking has tiny little slivers of tooth left
underneath these veneers i know about the dent wow that's actually you knew a fact okay well
i love it for you um i'm just gonna jump right in yeah it's time for good week yes it is bad week
oh no i would like to start because my good week is this i'm gonna need some of you listeners to
roll the tape on something.
Ooh, roll the tape.
Years ago, we were talking about Destin and the panhandle,
and it's a part of this country that is sort of my pride and joy.
Yeah.
And Jack is a California girl.
Kelty's a Canadian girl.
So this is all so mysterious, this part of the world to them.
So we were talking about beautiful beaches,
and I said the panhandle of Florida has the whitest sand,
the bluest water the warmest water and you guys poo-pooed it you really poo-pooed it
i probably said it wasn't as pretty as california you might have you might i definitely said you
need to go to like french polynesia to get a beautiful water there's no good water in this
continent right and i kept saying no you guys i spent every i literally from the time i was born
i spent every summer every spring break every kind of break you get throughout your year because
it's so close to atlanta so this gem of the world i my good week is that we are i get to share this
with the lady gang and it did not disappoint well should we let our listeners into why we're here
give them a taste give them i'm gonna give you a little bit of a secret yeah we'll give a taste
yeah we are considering doing some form of a lady gang gathering it's not like anything you've ever
seen before it's not a it's not us going on tour coming to Destin or Denton as Jack would say
it is so much bigger and so much better and we're scouting if you will yeah we're scouting
scouting for the weekend and like I said Kelty and Jack are pretty much blown away by this place
I'm in love with Florida well I might move here I came here last year the main played Hangout Fest
which was on the Alabama shores yeah but you can't compare it was fun no it was great but you can't
offend the people of the panhandle in denton i did go to the floribama bar it was amazing i do
like it here i think it's just like you can kind of do whatever the f**k you want to do nobody's
judging you it's so much fried food so much fried food i feel so happy here yeah yeah life is simpler
in we're looking at the beach right now it's gorgeous the sun came out the sun came out life
is better in denton i love you denton aka destin okay so my bad week is this i need everyone to
lay off kristin cavallari and her montana boy yeah mark estes mark estes who we can all agree
his last name is testes it's so testosterone filled estes i know it's estes but that
where is it estes that rhymes with testes and testes are testicles and he is very he is using
his got a lot of inside kristin cavallari we collectively and not just him the other boys
with a z are wonderful looking specimens of men's okay i want everyone to relax about kristin and
let her get hers like she has something that we as women should be celebrating she's a woman of
our age yeah who's having intercourse i'm assuming and dating like rabbits like rabbits
arguably the most universally attractive man in the world in many decades minus jason momoa
ew what's cuter than momoa he doesn't have universal hotness yes no yes i would never
what a man bun can turn you off a scrunchie can turn you off this montana boy is every he is the
ever man he is the forward focus of man everyone loves him he's very um a basic is the wrong word
because he is so hot but he is classically hot as yeah he's objectively hot okay everyone can agree
he's armani hot and walmart hot all together in one yes yes yes yes okay so i i'm pissed because
everyone's making such a big thing about her being 13 years older than him yeah and we've
listen this is not something new that we haven't heard if this were a man dating a woman 13 years
younger we wouldn't even blink an eye but i just want to remind society of how truly terrible we
are and how judgmental we are do you want to hear some age differences yes okay jay-z is 12 years
older than beyonce nobody cares yeah and i'm pretty sure they started dating when she was like
exactly amal and george 17 years 17 years older right he's old these are all men who are older
than the women i mean don't even i mean leo well that i you can't even yeah whatever because people
do talk about that yeah which thank god well because they keep getting younger um uh matthew
mcconaughey and camilla 13 years jason statham and rosie huntington whitley 20 years megan fox
and brian austin green he was 13 years older than her harrison ford and calista flockhart he's 22
years older than her and alec baldwin and alaria 26 years older than her 26 he's 26 years old is
he i don't know 120 i don't know math she just she's not like our age is she no she's probably
late 40s how well let's add 26 years i don't know listen we're not we might as well be the
girls with a z um so i just want everyone cool your jets and if you're hating if you're a woman
that's hating on Kristen
and arguably the hottest man
of our generation,
shame on you.
You're just jealous.
Shame on you.
A woman should be able
to leave a horrible marriage,
allegedly,
to a horrible person,
allegedly,
and get to get naked
and have a hot man
lay on top of her
that looks like Mark Testes.
Mark Testes.
Amen.
Congratulations to you.
And congratulations, Kristen.
Yeah, we love her.
Also, what are the other
Montana boys doing?
You know,
we may be dating.
they're hot they're not as hot but i think one there is one that i think might be more my type
really see there isn't like a long-haired one there's not like a rock and roll one curly hair
oh not like long long yeah like we need like uh they need to be a kind of like the backstreet
boys like different themes the montana boys are like the village people each one's like a different
hush montana yeah okay okay go ahead um i'll go next go ahead okay so we're obviously in florida
we all flew from different places and we all met up in atlanta and like took the flight from atlanta
together and my good week is the tables have turned for you bitches oh not me don't say me
guess who got the first class upgrade jack it was me when i was sitting in my aisle seat
in 21 e or whatever i was and i was looking ahead of me and i saw jack being served a beverage
before takeoff i was she was living fuming the best thing is i wasn't ever gonna say anything
i didn't say anything at all you didn't tell me you were in business no well i got the upgrade
literally as i was boarding it was one of those like last minute ones that they're like oh we
gotta see it yeah you didn't even wave at me when you came on you didn't even act like you were the
last one on i know i didn't see you come on you know what i was actually gonna give you my seat
too you were yeah because i was like i know she's had a long travel day but i didn't see you come on
well it wasn't too late you could have like yeah when i texted jackson first you could have said
hey i'm gonna come back and have my seat that was a half-ass like almost no i was thinking about it
and then i was like if it makes sense and like it's not a hard thing i'll do it but then i wasn't
gonna go out of my way to give you my seat the reason the tables have turned for the people who
have not listened to lady gang since the beginning we used to fly american a lot yes against me and
jack's wishes because kelty y'all's kelty was a what was it concierge key concierge key and so
every stupid flight we would get on to go somewhere for tour kelty would be like up see you guys
later i'll see are you guys in the back okay do you want me to bring you a drink and then like the
the few times that you got like a companion upgrade you had to like she was like she chose
you every time no she chose you no i remember sitting in the back being pissed me and alex
sat in the back every time looking at you guys just wondering why we didn't get chosen maybe it
was just one time whatever anyways the tables have turned i was in comfort plus which was lovely
you're not even in comfort plus i was in comfort plus but i don't like an aisle seat i feel way
too exposed and you know anyway i only like an aisle seat well congratulations fancy pants thank
you um my bad week is yes we're in dustin florida yes there is a taylor swift song that mentions it
and we have been conned into doing taylor swift tiktoks too i don't love it listen the new album
is quite long and it's very sad so it's like it's not you're not getting like coming is my good
friend where you're like at the gym like it's not a gym it's not a party it's not a summer record
it's it's a little more evermore feeling it's a little sad which is i liked evermore actually
you would actually love this album like no but this one i feel like a lot of this stuff sounds
similar to stuff she's run on sentence yeah well but the florida song is great well i've only heard
those like five seconds and i'm into those five seconds because there's like some like energy but
yeah and then she's florence and the machine yeah and then she's this other song i don't know which
one it is because i'm not familiar enough but it's something like um like are you scared of me you
should be and i was like oh i like that one too that feels like me i also appreciate thank you
amy and all the drama going on with that now there's like a new theory that it's not even
about kim she's like how could it not be because it has the capital letters carly claus or something
i don't know my my other point about this my other bad week ish thing is before the album came out
there was like an ai version of fortnight that was going on tiktok and i'm like they're like is it
like is it fortnight like is it leaked or is it like an ai version so good yeah it's so catchy
so amazing
and then the real
Fortnite came out
and it's not as good
what is Fortnite
it's like the
Post Malone song
oh I thought you
were talking about
the video game
oh my god no
she's talking about
we've been with you
I've been with you
for a fortnight
like a medieval times darling
but the AI version of it
it sounded more
Post Malone-y
like it sounded like
a Post Malone song
that Taylor Swift
was singing on
but like the real one
sounds like Taylor Swift
that like he sings
like a little
the future of everything
we make is gonna
cause they can put
every you can essentially
take AI
put every Taylor Swift
song in
and then pump one out and it'll be like but then make it in like the style of post malone yeah
wild like i wish they'd come out with a full version of the ai song oh my god that's so cute
okay it's actually sad um my bad week is that on the way to florida um i you know i'm just a few
weeks out of surgery and listen i'm fine i'm doing great i think i've been holding up really well
but i was just worried about dragging my heavy we had all this equipment and stuff through these
big airports. So I signed up while Derek signed me up to have a wheelchair in every city, which
has been great. It was great at LAX. Like, I think it's just saved me my body so that I could like
be excited and feel good. And, but I got to Atlanta and we had a very close connection and
they, they did not have good service in the Atlanta airport for me. And, and for my travel
partner friend who was a lawyer, and this is the funniest story. So she's a lawyer and we,
we bonded in the wheelchair area and I was like, I just had surgery. And she's like, Oh, I'm old.
And, um, and she's like, she's like, and you know, I didn't really need the wheelchair, uh, here in
LA cause it's not so bad, but I really need it when we get to Atlanta. I was like, yeah. And
she's like, you know, I was a lawyer and I worked on the planning commission for the Atlanta airport.
And when they showed me the airport 40 years ago, I was like, are people going to be able to get
around this airport it's so big and so long and she's like nobody listened to me they really just
told me to shut up and that it was a perfect plan and now you really can't get from one end to the
other without two having two hours to connect like she was like nobody listened to me now i'm in a
wheelchair like it was like so funny listening to her like to anyway did you know atlanta airport's
the busiest airport in the world i know and it's massive the biggest international hub so anyway
they pulled me off the plane the captain had to push my wheelchair up the ramp because no wheelchair
like helpers were coming and they just sat me there and i sat there and you guys you guys are
like hey i'm boarding hey what's your et i was still you're gonna miss the flight i was still
there and then i was like well should i get up and like run and anyway so then this guy i gave him i
gave my guy finally a guy came and i was like can you just take me to gate c he's like i'm not allowed
to leave the b terminal he's like here's 20 bucks just take me to c and then his boss saw me he's
like i'll take you to the train that's as far as i can go and i was like this is insane oh no the
The Atlanta airport is hell on earth.
Yeah.
It's truly, and I, listen, I love Atlanta.
I have a lot of pride for my city.
I hate that freaking airport so much.
I just don't get why I'm getting in the nitty gritty of it,
but why are Delta flights in three different terminals there?
Because there's that many Delta flights.
There's so many flights.
That's crazy.
Okay, my good week is that, well, we, okay, so my good week is this.
Now we've taken this trip to Florida,
and we've made the decision that we're going to do more trips together
and just come, go on a trip, podcast, work,
like just little mini vacations.
And I have my next idea for where we should go
based on the fact, and it's Paris.
And I'll tell you why.
I'll tell you why.
I mean, I know we can't afford that yet.
I'm a mother.
Okay.
But allegedly, do you know how we talk about the Bippity Boppity Boutique
where you can take the children and they make them into princesses?
Well, I read online that there's something called the Royal Dream at Disney Paris, and it's the Bippity Boppity Boutique, but for adults.
Bippity Boppity Boo Salon.
Oh, Bippity Boppity Boo Salon.
Yeah, it's the Bippity Boppity Boo.
The Bippity Boppity Boutique makes more sense.
It's the Bippity Boppity Boo Salon.
The Bippity Boppity Boo Salon.
It doesn't make any sense.
If you guys think of our thing that we're planning here in Destin, we should have the equivalent of the Bippity Boppity Boo Salon, but it's like the Lady Gang Salon.
And you get like your hair braided and you get a braided bar.
Bippity boppity booze.
Bippity boppity booze.
But anyway, but in Paris we can go get the princess treatment and then you.
I'm not going to Paris for a lady gang meeting.
I'm not going to Paris to go to Disneyland Paris.
That too.
Although you look like a Disney adult today.
Jack has space buns.
It was the only way to fix my hair.
Half up, half down.
And I just keep thinking she's wearing mini ears.
It's just annoying.
I remember.
like jack's beauty is so annoying because that is the stupidest haircut hairdo i've ever seen
in my life and you look so cute trying to hold on to my youth and i'm like and the hair by the
wrinkles the color coming in the front is so pretty it's just annoying how pretty you are
anyway when we come back more about florida
now back to the lady gang so first of all i just want to say so so lady gangers
is florida a place you would want to go like specifically destined destined do you like the
beach do you like fun do you like fun times do you like bippity boppity boos wait can you tell
the making behind okay so we've been doing all this stuff wait no i need i have a list of things
we need to talk about let me pull it up but let's first talk wait first can i ask you a question
yeah have you had a sip of your dress your beverage okay so everybody obviously knows
that kelty loves ginger ale well i was a diet coke person is this is this is the diet coke no
okay so here's the backstory no it's jack and i had to go to the right color wait what does it
what does it taste like okay yeah jack and i had to go to the 7-eleven to pick up uh alcohol
let's be honest and kelty because she recently discovered ginger ale yep she said grab me a
ginger ale so we go to the 7-eleven there's nothing in there there's no ginger ale there's
nothing the guy that works there so sweet he went in the back and even looked um and then he said
i just licked the microphone thinking it was my ginger ale and then he looked at us and he goes
you know you can go to the fountain soda and you just you mix sprite and coke that's ginger ale
yeah and we we both looked at him like no i've heard this i've heard this before this is not
like just a him thing this is oh i had never heard it this is like a not a myth not an old
wives tale something of the sort that like has been going on i've never tried it but like we
were trying it i'm like this so he's like just go over there ass maybe out and i think it's pretty
good you thought it was ginger ale right like i wouldn't i mean now i'm like grumble grumble
pooping no it's the same things though it's the it's a little tiny bit now that i think about it
like probably like a different brand you know what i mean like i like a canada dry like the
off-brand yeah it's this is like costco ginger ale i'm it's perfect for me so it's half sprite
half coca-cola thank you so much so it worked all right let me tell you a story about the time that
we, about number three. So we flew from the airport and we got in the Uber. No, we got in
the air. We got in the car to come here and the driver, like we had one address that we're going
to and we got dropped off and we're like, yeah, we're going to this like beach condo. We get
dropped off and we're like, this is it. Look at the address on the paper. Here it is. And so we
go up to unit number three and what happened, Becca? She knocked, knocked, knocked on the door.
No, I put in the code because there's a keypad that they told me, you know, here's how you get into the place.
Turns out, unit number three, they didn't lock the door anyway, so the keypad wouldn't have mattered.
Absolutely.
So I thought, oh, well, it's already open, and we open the door.
There's women's flip-flops in, like, the little entryway, and we hear people inside, and I thought, well, these guys weren't very specific, like, that set up our trip.
I mean, they were, but they didn't say, by the way.
Maybe we'd be sharing it with somebody.
Yeah, I was like, maybe they're, like, having a share of this townhouse with other people from the company, whatever.
So I, like, look up the stairs, and I yell, hello?
And this guy says, hello?
I go, are we in the right place?
And this guy walks out with a Bud Light, and he goes, I don't know, are you?
And I screamed, and I slammed the door.
And then we were like, ah!
Turns out it wasn't the right address that we had.
But I did mention that, like, if I was single, I would think that maybe this was my meet-cute sort of, like, husband-to-be because that would be the perfect way to meet somebody.
It really would be.
Like, the universe sent you to the wrong address.
You're like, oh, sure, we'll come up and have a beer with you.
And then I fall in love and get married.
Yeah.
I actually love it.
Well, then we found out that we had a golf cart.
And I think this is the highlight of Destin so far for me is watching.
I actually videoed this.
I'll put it up on Instagram.
But back, there's a tiny little key.
It's like a locker key for a golf cart, you know, tiny little key.
Becca and Jack trying to turn on the golf cart.
Well, there were no instructions.
It was really just figure it out yourself.
Yeah.
And what it was is you had to put the key in and then just turn it.
Well, the key had to go in upside down and I didn't put it upside down.
I never tried, but Jack's smarter than I am.
So she thought maybe if I flip it over, but you know, it's just embarrassing as a woman.
And I'm going to generalize because there's a reason there are stereotypes about women.
and one of them is when it comes to machinery and vehicles we're so stupid most of us because i
think about zach in anything with an engine in 20 seconds zach no matter how you drive it how you
turn it on he's on it and he's rolling yeah and every time that something like this happens i
just think i do think that we are superior but not in this area and it really bothers me listen
there are female pilots you are the exception not the rule but for the most part i was just
sitting there thinking how hard can it be to get a golf cart going apparently hard pretty hard and
then jack's driving the golf cart how are you feeling about your skills i'm feeling great now
you're confident oh dude i'm like kind of doing like the rolling stop now and like the rolling
switching the gears and then i'm kind of just like going out in front of traffic like i'm feeling
good about it can we talk about pompano joe's yes so nothing is better than a beachside restaurant
with frozen drinks and fried food right pompano joe's is a place from my childhood we visited
many times that and that exact one this exact one wow my okay so for reference where we're staying
we're in miramar beach right now half a mile away is the first condo my family ever had that i grew
up in so crazy my sister keeps telling me that i need to go drive by it and go see and i might
do it if we have time cute um but that was the pompano joes we went to and then there's crap
the crab shack which is another like beach side whatever which next time we come here we've got
to go to pompano joes is just the salt of the earth florida people like our waitress yesterday
was spunky and cute and she was not her name was bobby was it bobby yeah i love a female named
bobby i know i know it was roberta and bobby for short i don't know it'd be so cute though
so she was so cute and they're just very welcoming we live in places austin even right now they're
very they're kind of dicks about people who come from out of state she couldn't have been more
excited so nice that we came from california and she was like yes i will bring you coconut shrimp
and the margaritas of your dreams it was the best it was so good i want to know yeah honestly it's
just like i just want to be in a casual corner like i'm tired of trying trying i'm tired of
trying i'm trying i'm tired of being perfectly on trend and at the cool place and like i i want
comfort that's all i want is comfort i want comfort foods and happy comfort drinks happy
people and like a nice breeze in your hair breeze in the hair nice breeze a sunshine and just like
the whole like la is breaking my soul because it's just like it's so much of we're all just
like little clones of each other it's like everyone has the same shoe then everyone has
the same bag and then we go to these places because we want to be seen and it's like they're
like why are you wearing shoes yeah you would be so proud of me so before i went right it's like
you went to poppin on jones no one's looking at your shoes no one cares i think bobby might
have had a croc on i actually think if we had on cute shoes people would have been offended they
would have been offended i'm glad that we're going did you see the new croc what are they called the
sparkles the spackles that you stick in uh the gibbets gibbets did you see the gibbets that are
toes yes i mean on the crocs you can put a toe we should be gladiating gibbets we should that'd
be so cute that'd be so cute we should have a gibbet bar it's the thing we're planning oh my
god like going well you know there's crocs are cute now we i saw a platform clock croc that i
was coveting and i think maybe we should try croc to get to sponsor our yeah we're planning because
they're so comfortable good beach walk around on them all day amazing throw throw a toe in
Ford picked out a rainbow croc when we were at Dick's Sporting Goods the other day.
And I was trying to just get him a good summer shoe.
And I was finding stuff that was going to, you know, match his wardrobe, if you will.
And I was trying to get him in like a hunter green or a blue.
And he kept being like rainbow, rainbow, rainbow.
So I bought him a rainbow croc.
And guess what?
He looks so damn cute in them.
Are you getting gibbets?
I'm going to have to get him some gibbets.
The toe gibbets.
No, not the toes.
Put the toes in.
Yeah.
But it's funny.
I like them.
It's funny because all, I feel like all the moms that try to like monochromatic their
kid, like he's wearing the coolest clothes.
Well, the sad beige mom.
The sad, like he's going to be in like the worst clothes you've, he's already dressing
himself.
Yeah.
I was going to say, when are you going to start letting him just pick out a shirt?
I do now.
Yeah.
But everything is like olive green and beige, right?
We do a lot of olive green.
We do.
Well, the colors that compliment his skin tone.
Cause he doesn't.
Okay.
He just.
Right.
But when, when, if he's like, but what happens when Ford comes to you and he goes, you know
what I love mom Chicago basketball shorts yes well he looks great in orange actually he looks
really good in neon like oh he really because neon goes with like a camo yeah yeah he's he's
got a tricky he's got my complexion we don't it's tricky we don't look good in a lot of colors
you're listening to the lady gang can I tell you a story about New York so we were
i was in new york i'm very happy about that and the toe jibbits um i wasn't we were new i was in
new york i did this interview with gail king which was amazing and so wonderful and um while i was
the week before i was going to new york i started freaking out because i had nothing to wear for
this interview because my stomach is listen it's not swollen where it's like but it's it it hurts
when there's stuff on it yeah there's a bloat and like none of my clothes fit me and whether they
actually fit or they don't fit, it's like, I'm very uncomfortable. So it's like, what I really
want is just a big tent dress, but that doesn't necessarily always look the best on TV. And then
it's like morning TV and kind of a serious topic. So I have a lot of like great tent dresses that
are polka dots. And I'm like, I can't really talk about it like a medical thing with a polka dot.
I mean, I could do whatever I want, but anyway, I just had such a meltdown about like what I was
going to wear because also in the back of my Kelty mind, I was like, because when I'm going in,
i'm gonna want to call the paparazzi so i'm gonna need to have a good outfit to be paparazzi'd in
but like i can't i don't want to wear heels and then i kept looking at outfits with flats and it's
very hard to feel paparazzi ready in a flat you know so anyway you'd be so proud of me kelty 2.0
i was like you know what kelty don't call the paparazzi like don't be so dumb wow go to new
york do the interview go see this broadway show you don't have to have paparazzi every time you
go to new york just live your life so i just went my old zara suit my flat shoes that i actually
love um and i just went in like a old suit and was like screw it i got out of the car in the
morning i flew all night and i was wearing lady gang sweatshirt leggings whatever i got out of
the car and was going to change at cbs this morning guess what was there paparazzi paparazzi
four four paparazzi getting the people going into the morning show oh so no i had my makeup because
i did my makeup on the in the car um anyway but then they waited and then when i came out in my
yellow suit they took pictures i can't imagine how terrible those pictures are and an old zara
suit with like a flat shoe it's not gonna be great it's gonna waste up one but here's the thing am
am i so famous now that the paparazzi sees me on the list of guests and like who else was there
well gail king you know maybe do you think i don't know what's fame anymore i don't know
i don't know either talking i know mark estes you know it's like but i guess my other question was
like or is it are there so many paparazzi in new york that like there's guys that do gma in the
today show every morning and those are like the big stars and then these four like the c-list
paparazzi that they're like well i don't want to compete with the a-list paparazzi that's getting
like you know j-lo at the today show yeah and they come for like the sad clippings of the cbs
more i don't know maybe anyway who knows i was excited because i that's only this only second
time in my entire life that i've gotten paparazzi'd where i hadn't called them myself congratulations
yeah so it's it's a big deal for me i'm feeling really fast as the beginning of this conversation
started why we like florida because nobody gives a no but it turned into a paparazzi conversation
this needs to be my new identity yeah florida is my identity florida florida tent dresses
you can't you don't have to worry about jack could barely put a blush on you know what i mean yeah
the humidity has got me the makeup you put on instantly falls off actually makes it so that
it's nearly impossible to glam yourself here because the humidity no matter what you do to
your hair it just is what it's going to be and same with makeup and it's so liberating yeah
it's just come surf sun like i'm i may vacation in florida now i'm why am i we're gonna be back
here why am i spending all this money to go to the french polynesia i'm gonna take you to a place
called alice beach that for the lady gang listeners a lot of you know exactly what i'm talking about
it is more beautiful than greece it is 20 minutes from where we are it is called alice beach a l y
s yeah oh it is the architecture is stunning there's cobblestone streets there's beach side
it's this is where we are now is like the fun the you know i think alice beach maybe people do get a
little more glam but still not compared to la it is so stunningly gorgeous the houses are so
beautiful you're going to be coming here often i can't wait i'm so excited i think you should
buy a house here oh fun is it affordable well no but is anything nothing is okay my last question
is i want to just take us everyone inside the um water splash tiktok so jack had this this is the
things that we do visual it's too visual yeah okay yeah well just be on the lookout of our
tiktoks because there's this trend going on where people are stitching kind of like they're like
vines they're like a couple second long feel videos that people are stitching halfway through
Speaking of, I sent it to Zach two minutes ago, and his response was just capital O-M-G.
Anyway.
I sent it to Chris, and he said, oh, wow, dedicated.
What did Jared say?
I got to, what did he say?
Well, maybe we make it.
He said, oh, my God, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, best one.
There you go.
Because I sent him mine, too.
He wasn't as pleased with mine because it wasn't as funny.
But anyways, lots of good TikToks coming up.
We're stepping up our TikTok game.
Yeah, I love it.
It's just in time for it to be shut down again.
Yeah.
Right on time.
What is the latest with that?
I don't know.
I don't know.
I would love to just only, I don't know.
It just feels like, it feels like there's just so many places on earth to not be successful or matter.
And there's almost too many.
It's starting to hurt my heart.
Like social media?
Yeah.
It's like, it's too many places to be unremarkable.
like i would like to just have one and we all just concentrate there because you know sometimes i
get jealous of other people i know yeah we know yeah you know that was part of this so i went to
a book talk with elise lonan and she wrote a book called the seven deadly sins the byline is
something along the lines of the seven deadly sins and the price women pay to be good and you know
the seven deadly sins are like greed envy lust whatever on my way here i was listening to the
audiobook and the chapter on envy was so good and at the talk elise was saying someone pointed out
to her when she was talking about envy because elise is an author she started at goop she was
one of the beginning people at goop founders um and she was not yet an author and she kept saying
it bothered her so much that when these authors would come out with new books kind of in the same
lane as she was operating in she felt herself being like well her book's not that good or
kind of catty you know because she was really envious and she this woman said you have to look
at envy and not feel shame about it you have to look at envy and say what is the thing you're
envious of because it's just showing you what yourself wants, like what you yourself is yearning
for. And I also think that envy for women, men have no shame around it. They're like, that guy
has something I want. I'm not scared to admit it. I'm not scared to go after it. There's no shame
in that. But for women, we have this shame about ambition and going after things that we want. So
instead we just sit back and just judge, judge, judge, judge, judge the girl that like we're
envious of. And I just felt like this is something we don't have to feel bad about anymore. We can be
envious of girls who have better TikToks than us. We can be envious of girls who have better
Instagrams because it's showing you what you want to have. Like I have zero envy. That's how I know
that I have no desire to really thrive on TikTok. I don't look at a single TikToker thinking I want
what she has. Well, I think the problem for me is that as I've gotten softer in my old age, like
and less robotic i care more about my own feelings and others and it's being an empathetic person for
yourself and others is exhausting being an empathetic person for yourself it is so difficult
like i it's it was so not not in all ways but in this in the jealousy component is so much easier
to be a robot because i just was like this is what i will do today i will finish this it is done now
I will sleep. And I had no feelings about it. I had feelings about, I want it to be the best.
What gave you empathy? I think I've done so much there. Do I not have it? No, no, no. I just don't
know if like, I don't know how people wake up with more empathy. Oh, I think it's because like,
no, it's, it's, it's learned. Yeah. It's like, I've done so much therapy and, and a lot of times,
like if I, if I went into therapy and I said something like, God, my mom drives me crazy
because every time I sit down with her, it's like an interrogation. She just like, and then what's
going on with work? And then what's good. And it's like, so difficult. Like, I can't relax. I can't
just like chill, you know, she's, Oh, I always am answering all these questions. And then my
therapist taught me like, well, think of it from your mom's point of view. She hasn't talked to
you in a week. She's watching you on social media. She's worried about, she loves you. She wants to
be part of your life. Like there's love there. So now I'm more empathetic about like, Oh, well,
maybe, you know, blah, blah, blah. Or even with you guys, like I, I old Kelty would have gotten
off the plane yesterday and been like, okay, here's an overview. Here's the list, everything
we need to do. No fun involved, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And then now I'm like, because I've
gotten to know, I know you so much and I've done so much work on myself. I'm like, you know what?
Our best result is going to be like, let's go eat. We can spend two hours eating and doing whatever
because we just need to get in the vibe and then we'll knock it out. Like we'll do it. And if we
don't do it it's not that big of a deal but like that robot kelty would never have allowed us to
our dynamic also is and my my fault you're picking up on is that if you notice if you tell me less
things i have to do i'm way more inclined to just do them yeah and you don't like a list i do not
like someone coming at me with a this this this and this so if you'll notice yesterday i thought
Kelty's being so chill
this makes me want
to just get some pictures of the merch
taken whereas before if we had
walked through the door and you're like get your glam we're going
blah blah blah and that's
my flaw
there's just a difference
but now I'm very empathetic
but we're figuring out each
other's situation
where if you push
less we work harder
and some fun
And some fun.
A little bit of fun.
Today, you had no drill sergeant in you, and we got more accomplished than in forever.
I really am, and honestly, this hysterectomy has made me very emotional.
I haven't had feelings in 20 years.
I've been on Prozac since I was like 22 years old, and I was up to 40 milligrams, and now
I'm down to 20, and I still had no feelings.
I mean, I had feelings, but I have not cried.
I mean, it does mask your ability to have lows and highs.
Ever since, like, the whole ovaries thing and, like, I had a hysterectomy.
I don't know if you guys know, but this is your first episode ever.
And, like, I just cry all the time.
Like, I cried thinking about being here.
I could cry right now.
I'm so happy.
Anyway, I feel happy and sad, and I have empathy, and I'm just like,
just like, kumbaya, kumbaya, motherfuckers.
All right.
Thank you for my thing, and we will see you next Tuesday, you empathetic bitches.
Thank you so much for listening.
