Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey guys, it's your Lady Gang, Jack Vanek, Kelty Knight, and Becca Tobin. Thank you so much for subscribing on iTunes, and thanks for supporting the great sponsors who make it possible for us to have this much fun with you every single week for free. Well, what is this? Welcome to the Lady Gang. That's amazing. Say that again. The Lady Gang. Things are about to change around here.
Starting point is 00:00:22 Each week we catch up with Hollywood's hottest girl posse, Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek. Hello, hello, hello and welcome to the Lady Gang. I am Becca Tobin. Across from me is Kelty Knight. To my right is Jack Vanek. How are you guys? Honestly? Yeah. We got a new stash of candy. I know, I've been eating everything. And it's like, oh my god, I love candy. I don't touch it anymore.
Starting point is 00:00:48 You don't? No. I noticed you don't. Well, the Whole30 has reprogrammed me, I have to say. Has it? yeah because there's sugar in everything and i just realized how much i was consuming now does everything like if you had something with sugar in it does it taste like garbage it's like when i drink like diet coke because i haven't had diet coke in forever it tastes like shit to be honest
Starting point is 00:01:09 you're just so much more i think it's just mental but you're like this is straight sugar gross but like now i was never a fruit eater i love fruit now it's very weird what's your favorite food peaches for me food or fruit fruit mangoes are the bomb mangoes i love mangoes come on you don't know that song presence of united states oh well i can't understand what you're saying peaches peaches for me oh yeah yeah that was a good song you guys have the weirdest taste peaches for free presence of the united states of america right yeah yeah you look very beautiful today jack i really don't but thank you we're way off track okay way off track okay um i was gonna ask a question of the week whatever should i not no you should okay what keeps you up at
Starting point is 00:01:52 night oh god everything i actually made a bookmark that said that really literally that what keeps you up at night it's scary what's the answer what about you um the anxiety yeah about what general that's usually what keeps you up just everything um just about everything crashing and burning and being alone forever and just normal stuff fake conversations like i fully act out a three-part play with every person in my life of like do you ever do that do you have like conversations in your head with people you do elena does she's nodding but it's stuff that like is going on or like something that's happening already so something that's happening already like if i'm gonna see someone the next day like i know i'm gonna see you guys or i'm gonna see elena or
Starting point is 00:02:36 i'm gonna that i'll be like oh remember to have that conversation with elena about packing for this thing and be like just make sure you pack this and i'll do the whole conversation that i'm gonna say to her you rehearse your next day yeah or if i'm having a conflict like if i'm having a conflict i'll have like the fake conversations of like the memoir i would give them that makes sense if it's like something like urgent sometimes i'll do that if i like i'm gonna go on a date or something i'm like you never have conversations in your head though for the most part like dumb shit about like talking like about elena what to pack like a lot of times i have to wake up in the middle of the night and chris would be like get off your phone and i'll just have to get on my
Starting point is 00:03:11 phone write something down like this no actually here's a great example i was thinking about fun things that we could do for adventures in my to-do list like a couple nights ago and i woke up in the middle of the night and i wrote can't wait for this i'm sorry i wrote rent a stand at the fairfax thrift market paint a fairfax sign follow around a cheating man those are the three things i just like in the middle of the night honestly to follow a cheating man like when are we gonna play private i know we need to do it private i need lady gang facebook group yeah to happen it has to happen i don't care if we get arrested doing it yeah is that illegal this seems to be i'm sure stalking i don't know those are really strong warn you first okay
Starting point is 00:03:53 nothing keeps me up at night let's move on um now it's time for good week yes it is bad week oh no i'm starting um so i had to google search myself to find yes a specific photo for long story not not interesting of your vagina of my vagina that's out there what's happening um so i found a site called wiki feet yeah have we talked about it yeah oh okay well i found mine i have five star review so it's considered i have beautiful feet do you think you have beautiful feet to be honest it's not my worst feature i'm not gonna judge because i hate looking even for being let me see your foot okay even for being a dancer you don't have like corn no it took a couple years after like like deep dance deep dance like and a couple
Starting point is 00:04:52 point shoes every day and baby foot saved my save my soul okay um baby foot's not gonna change the shape of your foot no but it changes like the texture is off because when you're a dancer you don't want to get rid of your cow i'm showing you my feet i'm not what size are you a six and a half hold on hold on go flat against the wall i need to see the toe i need to see the toe length okay hold on okay see you're bordering on an imperfection with that third toe because if that third toe was longer than the pointer toe but it's not it's not but it's close i'm just saying not that close it's pretty close why five stars no and also you know what is i wouldn't you want to give your compliment to your foot even though jack's gonna barf your um big toe is quite
Starting point is 00:05:35 delicate oh thank you all right we need to talk about something else i'm getting nauseous okay the toenail is very thin thank you um here's my bad week i went on a bender not like a drinking vendor but like i was eating so healthy have been eating so healthy and i'm allowed to have in and out but i can only have it in like a wrapped not yeah the lettuce wrap and by saying allowed i'm just saying allowing myself so i go through the drive-thru and i get like i love onions i love pickles i love the whole thing and there's no bun so i'm trying to make it like fancy so i get like extra topping you know to really she made a chili i made chili and i eat it and it's delicious obviously and then i don't think about it again until i go down to my car the next day and i'm
Starting point is 00:06:28 going to an event and i get in my car and i left the bag in there with an onion and when i tell you i can't describe what my car smelled like there's no explanation do onions rot like a smelly i mean was it a raw onion it was raw onion it was the most putrid smell and i had to drive to this event and then you smelled like it and then the car the valet they probably smell some funk i'm sure this is like the least of their worries i have caught myself right before getting up to a valet like almost farting before getting there and then because i'm like i want to get it out before where i get into wherever i'm going and then it's like you idiot you cannot fart and hotbox your valet driver but he got hotboxed by my onion and he was really cute and like really young oh and
Starting point is 00:07:20 lately i've been trying to get young boys to find me attractive to validate me because i'm getting old yeah so i wanted him to find me attractive but it just smelled like dirty dirty armpit you should have showed him your feet i don't like any of these conversations okay you're welcome what about you jack um okay so i have a new word for the good week and it's an insult to call somebody and it's calling somebody a dicksicle there's no real definition for it but i think is it in a sentence um i got stood up on a date the other day the guy was a dicksicle oh you got stood up no okay that was a story okay i just got okay i just got upset no okay
Starting point is 00:08:05 I know, I've never been so bad. Dixicle. Isn't that a good insult? Should we come out with our own line of Dixicles? I think they make them. They do? Yeah, but we can make them better. We should make the molds.
Starting point is 00:08:15 Yeah, the molds. You can make a Dixicle. We've had so many good ideas. We never do anything. Nobody steal this now. It's trademarked. It will be by the time this airs. Yeah, we're trademarked.
Starting point is 00:08:23 Dixicles. Dixicles for everyone. 2018, the year of the Dixicle. I love it. It's a good idea. Okay. Anyways, my bad week. um you know you're the least relevant member of the lady gang when people in your own facebook
Starting point is 00:08:36 group don't know who you are the facebook group that you created yourself you're on the most that i couldn't even they didn't know so i like commented on somebody's post oh no and some girl comments back to me and she goes what are you famous for why do you have a blue check lol who are you she's kicked out did you kick her out i don't think so ew i would have kicked her There are people in the Lady Gang Facebook group that do not listen to Lady Gang. Then why are they in it? And if I find out, I kick them out. Oh, good.
Starting point is 00:09:07 Oh, my God. I almost threw up. Jack's so upset. No, because that's why we now, when you try to get into the Facebook group, you have to answer questions. And you can't just be like, what's your favorite episode? And they're like, I haven't listened yet. Delete. Well, and then some girl said that she got added by a friend.
Starting point is 00:09:22 But when we used to do it, you could just get added. Anybody could be added, and they'd be accepted. But now it's like, we have like a vetting process. Yeah, we have a vetting process. I'm like, oh, bitch, you know who I am. You're like, I'm Jack Vanek. Hello. Hello, scene queen.
Starting point is 00:09:36 Were you on MySpace 10 years ago? Well, you weren't in my top friends. Yeah, well, that really gave me a little bit of a... I'm sorry you're so relevant, Jack. Yeah, no clue who I am. No, I think we should start posting more photos of us in the Facebook group so people really get, you know, enthralled. I'll just do, like, a photo of the day.
Starting point is 00:09:50 Be like, here I am today. Here I am today. Well, actually, speaking of social media, the Lady Gang Instagram is about to surpass me on Instagram followers, and I... How many are we at? I think you're almost at 50,000, and I have like 67,000. My side meme Instagram is up there, too. Yeah, great.
Starting point is 00:10:08 Thanks. You want to add that? Your side chick? My secondary Instagram is at 46.3,000. That's bullshit. Whoa. Okay. Are you ready for my good week, bad week?
Starting point is 00:10:16 Yes. Okay. Good week. Remember when we had Matt Bellassai on the podcast? Yeah, I love him. Who hates everything? I love him so much. So as interesting as you think it would be, I never get presents from celebrities.
Starting point is 00:10:28 in all of the like celebrity fun interviews i've ever been given christy brinkley gave me face cream um another musician sent me some kind bars and out of the blue what a present well she grace potter she was doing like a thing with the kind bars yeah i love her too she sent me kind bars but other than that no one has ever sent me anything and i get a lot of things just people being like will you review this will you put this on the show whatever i got the nicest note from From Matt with a copy of, in hardcover, of his new book, Everything is Awful. And the best part about it is that it came with stickers. Oh, I saw those.
Starting point is 00:11:00 And they're like stickers that have him eating french fries and then other stickers that say everything is awful. And I was like, well, he's so nice. So first of all, that you thought about me, person you've met once and, like, DM'd twice on Instagram and were, you know, to look up my address and send me the book. The book is really good, so I am a little mad that we don't have a book out yet because I was like, damn, this book is good. and like no we need a book um but anyway thank you matt you really made my good week because you know that my love language is books and gifts all right bad week is that a bad good week you look so unimpressed no i just i love you matt but like if i wrote a book and i wanted like i would send it to someone working for the press yeah i don't think it's a personal gift
Starting point is 00:11:44 someone with a podcast with like a lot of listeners who would like why didn't he send Give it to me and Becca and we'll do it. Yeah, Matt. I'm just kidding. I love him. I still love him. I love him. I think your good week should honestly be like your new makeup plot for the show is
Starting point is 00:11:58 so good right now. Like on your face. Oh, my makeup? Yeah. Wait, what did you say? Makeup plot? Makeup plot is like the plan, like the makeup face that you. Do you like it?
Starting point is 00:12:09 It's so good. I'm doing no makeup. Elena likes it too. Yeah. It's good, right? No makeup? You looked really good on the show today. Really?
Starting point is 00:12:16 Elena wants to say that I looked really good on the show. so I'm doing that just before I get to my bad week I'm doing the anti-makeup like you know how it was like all like deep contour yeah so much makeup and so much you look so good we're going back to like the naked but then I did anyway I look fine thank you you look really nice um bad week okay so Jack Vanek is hot I saw her with an outfit that I wanted to borrow from hers and I was going to this thing and I was like Jack may I please borrow your denim romper jean flare one suit cat suit and she was like yeah girl and ps did you bring me back my spanks yeah they're in my purse right now oh god get them out those are my favorite spanks it's been really sad right now
Starting point is 00:12:57 no it's been so hard for me without them thank you okay they're right here it's been so hard i don't know about that these are my favorite spanks i wear them almost all the time all right they're very weird because they're long they're like legging spanks yeah to wear under a long pant you end up squishing my fat out of the bottom i know it does long story short i walk the red carpet and i think i am hot shit in my denim romper and i'm like i am so jack vanna cute right now because you looked amazing in it and i was like if i fit in it then i look amazing in it and i was so proud and i was like oh my god and they're like yeah kelty and they're going crazy over the romper and i was like this must be my big moment like we're having it and you had a
Starting point is 00:13:37 hippo hoof no worse a pair of my underwear were hanging out of it no i wish so then i like later on that night i go on getty and i'm googling myself to like see what my hot pictures look like you know when you step in a puddle and it like goes up half your leg and you don't really notice because you're wearing like a big shoe so not only was i like wet to the mid-calf on both of these flare legs on the red carpet i also had my fly undone every single time you're in jeans your fly is down i know you need like a triple check down right now your whole thing is undone because my gut gets popped out at the end of the day maybe just go up a size i know i should leggings hold on i'm looking up the picture no because when she wears leggings she forgets to
Starting point is 00:14:22 wear underwear and her vagina just well you guys let's move on and then okay all right the picture so what's what's coming up oh my god one of the biggest makeup stars pun intended is here of all time and we love them now back to the lady gang our guest today will have your false lashes flipping out he turned his love of makeup into a youtube empire complete with international business trips and over 3 million subscribers 3.7 million plus followers on instagram which If you are counting, and I am, is 3,699,962 more Instagram followers than I have. He's collaborated with Kim K, Tyra Banks, and former Lady Gang guest, Ashley Tisdale. He started his career working at a Mac counter in his hometown and recently announced that
Starting point is 00:15:13 he is now having a major collab with Mac. So what a glow up. We're so happy to have him. Please welcome to Lady Gang, Patrick Starr. Woo! Welcome! Hey! so what a glow up that is the biggest full circle moment best intro i need you walking around
Starting point is 00:15:29 everywhere first of all um like are you able to take all of this in this is all self-made so it's gotta feel sweeter yeah it's it's insane it's i don't know the stupid is the word or silly or just like unbelievable it's just it's really really cool and surreal i think it's just insane because i'm just a filipino man and and a scarf and makeup and that's that's all it is but to think that someone can do it from home connecting with people um growing up i grew up on five acres i was just posting videos in orlando florida i'm looking at deer with a dream and and hope that i i get noticed i don't know i i think on top of that just just my story altogether, just being a
Starting point is 00:16:20 brother, being a son, the eldest of three, and we're all boys, and we're all P's, Patrick, Peter, Paul, and to be Filipino and to want to have a career out of, you know, I don't know, nursing. I was doing nursing like every other Filipino, and it was crazy.
Starting point is 00:16:36 And I guess I was destined to nurse something else, and that was, I guess, online. A brow honey. So many people do tutorials and try to break out. What do you think is your secret sauce i think my secret sauce is uh diversity and leveraging uh strong powerful women to to to leverage someone so different like me into their their viewers and their viewership just to show that someone as unconventional as me is as human so like working with kim kardashian
Starting point is 00:17:09 like why is she collabing with this big filipino boy in makeup because he's the best katie perry tyra banks kiki palmer ashy tisdale raven simone coming up on lisa too so it's just crazy and but beyond that i think it's the way that i've been able to diversify my content through women through strong women um with the medium of makeup is really really cool yeah let's talk about kim kardashian is it easier to do makeup on her face because it's perfect yes no but it's crazy i was just saying um i was just had just interviewed her and um it's like her face her like jaw is like honey have you seen a before and after of her before we start going crazy i mean yes she is beautiful but she bought that okay okay she bought it let's not make all the girls out there feel
Starting point is 00:17:56 bad about themselves you two can buy the perfect cheekbones right or have patrick make them on your face but it's it's like my face is flat so it's mine so it's mine i feel you the thing is is that she's i think i think just what makes her even more beautiful is she's so easy and so chill and i'm friends with all her if not all her makeup artists and i was calling them the day before what do i get at masa for i'm gonna go to mac what should i buy my name is what should i buy and they were like you should get this and this and this i show up with about six hundred dollars of new makeup and i'm like okay well i'm gonna use this because i heard you like it do whatever you want sweeney this is about you this is your day i was like are you
Starting point is 00:18:43 serious that's so nice my snapchats and posting in the morning and i want you to have your moment and it was like that's so sweet this is unreal what's happening yeah so it was really really special good can i have a question yeah you might you might not want to answer this but girls are curious how much if somebody calls you to get their makeup done how much are you charging after your glow up oh my god are you doing like shaking her head do not answer this question No, no, no. I haven't done— What's the friend of the podcast rate? No, I haven't freelanced in a minute.
Starting point is 00:19:30 You're really not doing faces. You're doing more of the overall. Yeah, yeah. I think just working on Mac for the past year and then having collabed before that, I think just wanting to hit one million was such a goal. And then to leverage this thing. And I think being on media, I think I dedicated so much to it. Freelancing doesn't really allow me to leverage my digital media and work. It's a lot of work. You're not doing the basic bitches. That's okay.
Starting point is 00:19:57 We understand. We understand. Fine. Whatever. There's a lot of things going on right now. Let's first talk about MAC. Yes, Ariana Grande had her lipstick, one collab, one-off, Lady Gaga. But no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:20:09 You're going to do, I think, four collections. Is that what I read? Five. Holy crap. Cinco de Patrick what's your what's your official title you're like the new
Starting point is 00:20:19 global key artist collaborator is it for like a year like do you do is it one a season yes yeah that's so cool yeah it was so crazy
Starting point is 00:20:26 when I met Mariah last year who's Mariah Mariah Carey oh sorry I didn't know I was talking about Mariah Carey yeah we're on a first name basis
Starting point is 00:20:34 she had her holiday collection and she they threw a slumber party for her and influencers to promote her her makeup line and meeting her
Starting point is 00:20:44 and then talking to mac they were like you're next year's mariah i was like no lies lies you tell that's insane and then it was like happy new year you're next year's mariah and then the year after that so it was just i was like putting pieces together no this is this is crazy because i had just you know it's like i was tapping that birth control stick and i was like and i'm having a baby and it's just it was literally if i can if i can have any woman or mother compared to anything uh like what having a collaboration is like it's like having a baby yeah yeah all your work and geez except you're birthing a beautiful concealer yes um one of the things that you want to take care of there's no hemorrhoids um so one of the things you said in this first collection
Starting point is 00:21:32 was that there's a powder and the reason is you needed a baking powder yes everywhere i go people are talking about baking and i don't know what it is but i think i need it because i'm tired me too can you explain it yeah i need to be yes we need to be baked baking is a technique where you take loose powder and apply it on top of a liquid or a cream to set one's face to last forever and don't Do you only do it underneath your eyes, though? Wherever you need. If you want, like, a perfect base under your eyes, it's all preference. It really depends on the person.
Starting point is 00:22:07 So if you're oily, you're on your nose. You can do it on your nose. You can want your whole face. If you want it, like, over your lip, if you sweat, or on your chin. I do my whole face because I am a sweaty, sweaty man. So wait, do I put my concealer on, and then I just pile a whole bunch of powder on top and then whisk it away? So what I personally love is I've learned from other celebrity makeup artists, like this is the celebrity secret, y'all. You take a beauty blender, you'll blend out your concealer with that damp beauty sponge.
Starting point is 00:22:37 You'll blend it all the way. And then with that same damp beauty sponge, you'll dip it into Patrick Starr's MAC, Patrick's powder, and dip it in. And you'll just dab some loose powder and then quickly set and press it into the concealer. And then how long do you leave it? You will continue with the rest of your face, blush, lips, brows, and then dust it off. And then I like to, for that extra glamorous Hollywood look, apply like a face color powder over top of that to add some color back in so you don't get that white cast. Right. You don't want to be that Nicole Kidman moment.
Starting point is 00:23:14 We all remember it. Yes. Yeah. Two other things. The Influencer Awards and then your show on Snapchat. I know. It's a big hit. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:22 It's huge. I think in the first two hours it was at like 7 million views and then like an hour later was 9 million and then that night it was like 50 million and then I think when it finally hit the free 125 million views oh my god I can't if I had a damn dollar for every view I was shook it was it was so cool um and a face forward is the show you can find on the snapchat discover page and it's it's a show where we take beautiful women and show them their inner celebrity inspired by their favorite celebrity and turn them
Starting point is 00:23:59 the freak out and it's so so cool how often are you shooting that I was it's so random we have Johnny Woojik
Starting point is 00:24:06 celebrity stylist on the show T.I. Monet celebrity hairstylist and yours truly Patrick Saul and it's really really cool
Starting point is 00:24:15 like so random literally we're shooting from 8 to 8 a 4 minute show yeah right wow
Starting point is 00:24:22 that's so cool celebrity do you think we could be well you tell me who's your fave ourselves becca tobin i love like a full like i would love to be transformed into like a share someone like just so show girly and fabulous you know love a show girl like yes love her okay um and influence rewards you're hosting it right yes i'm hosting it with candy johnson it's the first of its kind so i i'm i'm excited i'm excited that there's that there's a awards ceremony a superlative show for for beauty influencers and hair nails and makeup and i did host a show before and in the beauty genre uh the face awards with next professional makeup and now to have a even broader show um
Starting point is 00:25:08 this saturday um in downtown it's going to be so so cool and i'm glad that that aspiring uh influencers in whatever genre they do hair, nails, or makeup can look forward to something like this in their future. And your nails are fabulous. It's insane. Do I get an award, you think? Yeah, you're going to get an award. Becca's going to take a picture. Yes, love it. Okay, we need to
Starting point is 00:25:29 talk about some Lady Gang questions. So our girls, we said you were coming and I've like narrowed these down to like the top ten that we got because we got so many. Perfect. Okay, first of all, something we were just kind of, I love that he's like posing
Starting point is 00:25:45 with his nails um okay so good how do i get rid of dark eye circles on corpse pale girls like also our girls are like really weird at the way they ask a question you know when you're so listen like when i have a spray tan i look less like i have an under eye issue yeah when you're really fair when you're pale it's like that purple is just like oh my gosh i was um urban decay has a beautiful corrector uh they're so so good you would just layer that on like a light like thin thin sliver of corrector just on top of the the dark the dark purple area and then uh you can set it with powder too and then go over it again with another uh cream or liquid and use using a sponge for sure so definitely um yeah blend it out um
Starting point is 00:26:36 blend it out people are asking about the kylie cosmetics is it worth the hype for what you get how do they hold up in the professional sphere i think for me makeup is a one-size-fits-all and i come from an artist background you can you can turn around i was buying makeup from ross from claire yeah pigments brushes uh yeah definitely like if you're if you love kylie definitely support like i i bought her stuff i love her stuff like literally and so cute are the three glosses i bought them all at the same time because i definitely like them literally and they're so cute i love those are my favorites so if you it's worth it yes okay worth staying up to like three in the morning to be the first one on the site before that um might make up trends for us gals
Starting point is 00:27:21 over 40 i am not trying to look 25 that's what she said not me okay trends like what should we be wearing if you were you know i think a glowy cream highlighters cream blushes i need to bring glowy skin back like it's it's literally so beautiful yes you can make but i feel like that that supple glow and beautiful skin is is going to come back in a beautiful lipstick yeah liquid i think liquid lipsticks are just overrated and they make your lips look dry and they crack and it's winter and it falls coming up so yeah something sexy okay what's a great way to get mascara on top and bottom lashes without making the bottom look all stringy oh my gosh i literally i literally have to wipe my own mascara wand on a paper towel and just
Starting point is 00:28:07 wiggle and do your mom's mascara face we all have one guilty yes the little vowel face and recite your vowels and open your eyes super wide and just wiggle a clean mascara one yeah it's so sad though right like we spent so much time on our upper lashes and then i go to my bottom lashes and it's like four little spider yes oh yeah and then you take it off and then it smudges more the most popular question on our facebook page what makeup should i splurge on versus what it should be budget so like maybe three things that are worth the money of splurge and three things you can just get at a drugstore um face products for sure um i think a good foundation that matches your skin tone that's great a concealer for sure and i feel like eyes and you know eyes mascara
Starting point is 00:28:56 eye pencils lip pencils lips that you can find at a drugstore but definitely things that like touch your face primers are really good yeah moisturizers what's your favorite brand for like face makeup uh mac yes yeah well i i just have a powder i don't have foundation mac is great uh they have it's funny when you go into sephora or any other brand max color spectrum is always compared to and been referenced to for years as far as i'm sure we probably have our own like max shit mc45 but it i would just say yeah uh uh makeup forever is really great too i i love i love all makeup um yeah how do i cover up these zangrizits without clogging the face breathers course oh my gosh oh my god you need to let your skin breathe baby girl just give your skin a break
Starting point is 00:29:48 but i would say um a cream concealer and a sponge and just lightly layering what i do here's a hack i ice my my little bad girls i iced my eyes this morning i grabbed a little popsicle for breakfast and... Was it a dixical? Just kidding. Jack's new word. Sorry. That was a dirty joke. Dirty joke. Okay. Same. So icing it. Yeah, icing it, yes. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:30:16 Yeah, it makes it so flat. That's so smart. Makeup tips for ladies who wear glasses. Oh, glasses. Watch the nose area. Bake the nose area. I know a lot of women are like, why does my glasses... I get that glasses mark on my nose.
Starting point is 00:30:32 definitely baking extra on your nose for sure will secure that that look this is the greatest one of the funniest questions how do i get full coverage without looking like i have full coverage oh god girl the no makeup makeup the no makeup makeup look it's impossible it's it's really really hard but i believe in setting sprays the setting sprays uh max fix plus is tried and true to every single makeup artist it it literally blends in all your makeup together so a great amazing makeup spray will have all the powder the concealer the blush concealer foundation just like i will say there's a difference between no makeup makeup in real life and no makeup makeup in like a celebrity world because when i interview celebrities all the time when i see the photo
Starting point is 00:31:20 of them on the red carpet or their selfie they took they look like they're not wearing any makeup but they're beat in real life yeah you know what i mean so it's like don't my first time hosting a carpet i was like i'm gonna get up into this girl's face right now and they are painted oh yeah painted beat it's a full beat um okay last one okay oh wait sorry two more what comes first foundation or concealer foundation yeah yes really yeah i've been doing it wrong the whole time it's i mean there's no wrong or right way i think you would if you want to cover more it depends on what you want either you want to shear your concealer or you want to build your concealer so if you do it after you could build the concealer and not sheer it out when you're applying your foundation
Starting point is 00:32:01 so i do concealer after what about the girls like your brows are so amazing thank you underneath there is there an amazing brow too like you know some girls are like how do i everyone wants that big beautiful brow but then you see people like a sharpie brow like how can we make a beautiful brow i would say go to somewhere like a benefit brow bar or anastasia or kelly baker like visit one of these brow um experts yeah and get your brows done and just let the expert do it and i feel like that's that's what i did as a makeup artist i was asking for tips and tips and tips and i found my patrick star aesthetic um i have a question a personal question why does every makeup artist in the world want to give me a black smoky eye what do you don't have this problem every time
Starting point is 00:32:51 i'm like i need to get my makeup done they're always like every makeup artist wants to give my little eyes like a black eyeliner and a black smoky eye is it just because i'm working with people from the 1980s or what no i you can rock anything like i think i think blowing out brown you guys hold hands yes god i love i love a blown out um what is that blowing out like super smoky like you're just about to hit the town and it's just super sultry bedroom eyes definitely there's no line of demarcation of your eye makeup it's just it's just super smoky ethereal with browns and coppers looks so good yeah whose face would you love to paint that you haven't yet tyra we did tyra i i did a what's in my bag we rated her bag um i love her so much and maybe i'll text her
Starting point is 00:33:43 definitely should do it 100 do it okay the last one is um a lady in our makeup group makeup and our facebook group said i'm a makeup artist and i'd love to know ways to promote myself for my freelance business i would love to do more makeup for weddings and photo shoots as my side hustle but the such the industry is so saturated do i make cool business cards or social media how do i get my name out there all the above do as much as you can i was uh if you contact hair stylists like every bride will want a hairstylist loved your wedding i told you last time beautiful snow princess over here wasn't she amazing i died one of my top like top two like like i don't know my other top but i'm sure there's someone else but this like literally my favorite what did you love
Starting point is 00:34:33 about it it was so different and your hair looked beautiful everyone's hair looked beautiful and then your makeup was just so fresh like snowflake kissed your noses and it was just uh if you guys haven't watched it check out the wedding it's just like i swear like it's a slow-mo and you're just like it was pretty magical oh it was magical like i swear like i i referenced like yeah oh my god conversation the facebook group though because people are talking about their wedding they get their wedding photos back and they hate them and i think it's sometimes like people don't just let them natural beauty shine through they like play dress up doll and what i loved about becca and then you don't look like yourself she really looked like herself like just a really gorgeous
Starting point is 00:35:14 version it was i know i was such a geek i was like hi i watched your wedding not to be weird i love that you're so gorgeous but yeah i think uh going back to promoting yourself for weddings definitely hairstylists uh talk to as many hairstyles go to salons and tell them hey um do you need a makeup artist here for saturdays i'd love to glam and promote i was working in salons too um freelancing making new friends um with if this is this is the trick i literally would type in makeup artist orlando first thing that pops up go to these large businesses that represent makeup artists in orlando and apply to them and they're getting like the wedding wire they're getting those those businesses and you want to jump on that and it's it's really awesome
Starting point is 00:36:02 Do you guys have any makeup questions before we have live questions? I don't know anything about makeup. I'm such a dummy. Your brows look great, though. Yeah, because they're tattooed on. I know, but Jack had a major brow grow up this year. Aren't they beautiful? Well, I waxed my eyebrows in high school, and so I had the hugest gaps everywhere, so
Starting point is 00:36:19 I got them microbladed. They look so good. Thank you. They look good. For real, yeah. That was the best thing I've ever done. First time? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:26 Oh, wow. Yeah. It's very beautiful. Thank you. Okay, well, you're fabulous. when we come back we're gonna have you help our girls figure out their lives okay help me figure out mine too hey ladies funky ask the lady gang and we're back and you know what every time we answer questions i'm like is this gonna help me at all like i need to figure out my own shit
Starting point is 00:36:51 has fame of it all like wreaked havoc on your like your personal life and your like friendship life like all the people want to be in your crowd now oh yeah do you pay your honors do you have an entourage of people being like i knew you way back when in orlando it was it was just like one high school person just popped out of nowhere but the offending story did you have this like did you have any i don't no i don't think so i changed my number though oh you did you gotta do that i have not i've had this number since like seven no me too you want to hold on to it i know it's so good it's so so good it's a 407 i'm just kidding uh it is so crazy but um i had as soon as i announced my mac collab someone texted me like hey um congrats on everything
Starting point is 00:37:39 and i was like oh thanks by the way who is this um you don't need to know who i am but i will say um if i have hurt you in any way please forgive me no i wouldn't say who the hell is this reveal yourself reveal yourself no I shall not reveal myself do you know who it was she eventually sent me a photo
Starting point is 00:38:06 and I was like do you know who it was I was just busy I was just freelancing and it was just it was just so funny it was like someone from like 9th grade and I was just like weird years ago that's ballsy yeah but I was like dang she still has my number
Starting point is 00:38:22 people like yeah you gotta change your number i haven't changed my number either not that i'm like at all famous like back in time but it is such a good feeling yeah yes but how do you once you find once somebody starts talking i'll get like a work phone and then i'll slowly transition yeah for a while i had two the two numbers because i was like i don't want to miss somebody what if someone calls you like hey i knew you in high school and now i'm making titanic 2 and i want you to be the star let's rethink that um i don't know like make a titanic How long did you have two phones? I want to ask.
Starting point is 00:38:54 Maybe a month. Oh, she was quick. But it felt so good. She said, let it go. Let it go. Bye. Bye. Bye, girl.
Starting point is 00:39:05 It's like the 10 people you give a shit about, and then everybody else can fall by the wayside. And so you slowly transition to the people that are in your lives now. Yeah. That's it. But you know what happened to me the other day? God damn it. i was at an event and i bump into this girl who i have met one time one time in my whole life she's very nice and very sweet gueneth paltrow yes and she's like one and here's the thing with
Starting point is 00:39:31 me at this age being married no new friends i don't i'm not gonna get coffee with you you know what i mean unless we're already friends or like working together or whatever or unless i feel a spark like there was no spark i didn't know her name and she's like oh we have to get together and i was like yeah yeah totally totally and tried to like brush it off brush it off couldn't she's finally like give me your information oh and i just you don't have anyone else's memorized well i just i'm worried that i was worried that if i lied then if i bumped into her again i'm the dick that gave her the wrong information so i sat there putting in my number in her phone i was like i'm gonna have to change it again oh my you know you need to do you remember
Starting point is 00:40:13 the rejection line does anybody remember that yes it's so it was like this number that if a guy asks you what your number is you give them the rejection line and then they call it and they're like you've reached the rejection line the person that you talked to didn't want to give you their number no because these people are so nice but like well that was a girl but yeah there's apps now where you can give that number you should get a google number why does everyone want to go to coffee i don't have time i seriously like we should meet up and get lunch do you have a job i don't eat lunch i don't have time i have time but i don't want to get a job like you should be at work no it's weird if you don't have a job then there's no reason for us to talk i'm not
Starting point is 00:40:57 gonna learn anything from you it's hollywood nobody has a real job i mean it's true also like if i'm gonna have lunch i'm gonna eat it by myself in silence looking at youtube videos of Patrick Starr at Patrick's and shopping online for MAC makeup. Thank you. Baking my nose
Starting point is 00:41:13 where my glasses sit. You're an idiot. Okay, we're going to start our questions. Okay. This first question is a story from Always Paranoid
Starting point is 00:41:22 is the person. Oh, no. Or is that the subject? Whatever. No. I'm into this format, by the way. Okay, everybody start
Starting point is 00:41:29 sending in their questions like this. Okay. A story. Adam was 23 and I was 17. It was a whole complicated situation i went into it knowing that it would only ever be a hookup almost exactly a
Starting point is 00:41:41 year ago i texted him to hang out when i got off of work and he told me he couldn't and that he had a girlfriend and i was devastated but of course after about three months he texted me i gave in and went over while he was watching his parents house because he lives with the girlfriend i had No intentions of a hookup. I just wanted to see him, but you can guess what happened. After that, he blocked me on social media and my phone number for a month. Then I blocked him. But because I'm weak and dumb, I unblocked him a week ago, and he texted me today.
Starting point is 00:42:16 I'm so torn between wanting to keep him in my life without the sex, of course. You're right. Even though I know I shouldn't or just letting him go for good, but I don't know how. Becca is passionate. Becca Tobin. Okay. I'm calling you. You said your name was always paranoid.
Starting point is 00:42:31 Always paranoid. You have got to stop letting this person treat you like garbage. Side chick. Not good. You are being treated like garbage. There's, like, no other word for it. This is so awful. You went over there, hooked up with him, and he then blocked you.
Starting point is 00:42:52 That is, like, the worst thing I've ever heard in my life. If you're listening to this, like, whatever you're feeling right now, you are completely entitled to feel this way. Crying. So nice. Being embarrassed. Like, feeling guilty. We go through these feelings. We literally go through these feelings, and I feel like no one is there to validate, like, am I entitled to this?
Starting point is 00:43:14 Right. Do I feel this way? Yeah. I did something wrong, yes, but am I allowed to emote this? And the answer is yes. You're allowed to feel this way. Just know. Move on.
Starting point is 00:43:26 Move on. Start anew. Get out there. Go wherever you feel like you never would have thought. Favorite spots to hang out. Maybe go to a library. Try something different. Go to a museum.
Starting point is 00:43:39 Go to a fancy ass grocery store. Like a gas station? Well, yes. That's such a good idea. Get a little dress up. That's what we're going to do with you. You need to go to a fancy grocery store to find your next boyfriend. Hello, Bristol Farms, Beverly Hills.
Starting point is 00:43:54 just opened up because if that man is spending like $12 on an ounce of cheese he's rich enough for you this guy is like an emotional terrorist and quite possibly a fucking psychopath is it your ex-boyfriend it sounds like it could be
Starting point is 00:44:14 yeah you need to just let go I don't care if you think he's a good friend he's not a good friend he's a piece of shit and he's cheating on his girlfriend so he's treating both of you like garbage so bye stop allowing stop falling into the dick sand yeah yeah it's not worth it okay i'm sorry sorry y'all are always paranoid and f**k you adam anyways our second question is from jilly she said his name i love that okay um jilly jilly says i'm really embracing the effort
Starting point is 00:44:49 I love it. So am I, whatever. Julie says, I'm changing career paths and dropping out of my master's program because I want to be a creative and be my own boss. Everyone in my family has pretty traditional and academic jobs, but you three and four are all super creative and have really exciting careers. Have any advice for taking the plunge, advice on being your own boss, and how to start making a blog or just getting a business altogether?
Starting point is 00:45:13 Patrick should answer this. Yeah, Patrick, this is you. I was multitasking, and I feel like if you're going to be your own boss, you have to multitask at the end of the day. So continue to work, continue to go to school while conceiving this new baby. It's literally like a baby, and I was in school for nursing. At the same time, I was teaching piano. I was working at Panera. I was a wedding photographer, too.
Starting point is 00:45:37 So and I was I was doing all these odd jobs like hair and makeup photography, which foreshadowed my future to be a content creator, but to also develop connections first, I guess, in the field that you'd like to and without going cold turkey because you're just going to want to devote time. So to develop interest, to find what you don't like, what's your weakness in this newfound career too, I think is the best. Like what you're not good at, just not to discover it and not have a fallback. But for me, I think discovering my weakness, which was organization and consistency, was my weakness because I'm such a creative. But yeah, for sure. i think you definitely need to figure out a way to like supplement an income because it's really hard to just like jump into this like i'm my own boss i'm gonna be creative and i'm gonna make enough money to sustain myself like that's not really how it happens so i think it's there's
Starting point is 00:46:33 there's pros and cons out and the pros are your passion is gonna have to really be a passion because it's gonna be a side hustle for like a while and you just have to like understand that um but you're just gonna have to love it enough that you're gonna put all this extra time that That you could be having dinner and going to a movie and hanging out with friends. Having coffee or lunch. And having coffee with people you don't give a shit about. But yeah, it's a hustle. And I think there's a lot of grass is always greener in like everything in life.
Starting point is 00:47:01 And, you know, it's really stressful to start your own thing. And there's a lot of risk in it. And you have to, you know, you have to understand that. But I think it's worth it. Anybody else? Good advice, guys. Good advice, entrepreneurs of the group. Okay.
Starting point is 00:47:15 our last question comes from rachel rachel says i just started high school and there is this one guy who lives near me and might be transferring to my high school he has a really bad reputation with girls but he said he changed and i believe him he took me out on a date and was super sweet a couple days later he said he'd only date me if i gave him more of my body he's asking for sex and hookups and then he'll decide if he wants to be with me thoughts rachel you're too young to be listening to the lady game but i love you anyway 100 too young i love you don't stop but do stop but don't um oh she's i'm so sorry that you're dealing with this because we've all been there but guys at that age a lot of the time are after one thing and that is to get your body
Starting point is 00:48:11 um and if you're not ready to do that then you absolutely should not um and if he goes away it means he didn't really like you for you and don't waste your time with people that don't like you for you also sorry it's like actions speak louder than words and it's like he said he changed and you believe him because he said it but then he's also saying that he wants to have sex with you and he won't date you unless he can and that's just like a load of shit also there's no peen in high school that's worth it you know what i mean a high school peen it's true is not worth it a 30 year old peen who's been around the block and had a couple girlfriends no not now but just wait a while
Starting point is 00:48:58 no just wait a minute because he doesn't know what he's doing with that peen anyway Wait, so it's just going to be horrible and you're going to feel horrible about yourself. Are you guys okay over there? Yeah, we're having a glee revival. Okay. Just wait. Just, this is not the guy for you. No, screw him.
Starting point is 00:49:16 No. Be like, fine, you know what? I need something more of you. A Chanel purse. And then I will give you a cow tea. No, that's also bad advice. Just don't do it. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:49:26 Don't listen to me. Yeah, I feel like just get to know him more and just literally watch like a bird. And that's just all I can say. Just look from afar. Yeah. He gross. He sounds like a dummy. He nasty.
Starting point is 00:49:40 He nasty for sure. Waste that time and energy learning how to bake your nose. We love to bake the nose. Bake your nose. I didn't know you could. I know. It makes sense. I will.
Starting point is 00:49:51 I wear glasses. Yeah. It's time. I learned something today. Okay. Well, you're so fabulous. Tell us where everyone should follow you on your YouTubes. Everything is Patrick Star with three R's.
