Hi, I'm Barbara aka your nursing educator on Instagram. I'm a registered nurse and I make
content that's all about helping nursing students thrive. One of the first and easiest things I tell
nursing students, if you haven't already done so, upgrade your scrubs to figs. Out with these stiff
boxy scrubs, in with the ridiculously comfy well-designed figs that were specifically designed
with us in mind. They're super soft, lightweight, and breathable with four-way stretch and moisture
wicking fabric that keeps up during long shifts pockets are exactly where you need them the fit
feels modern and tailored and they hold their shape wash after wash whether you're in class
at clinical or working the floor you deserve scrubs that work as hard as you do go to
wearfigs.com and use code figs ca for 15 off your first order that's wearfigs.com code figs ca
well what is this welcome to the lady gang that's amazing say that again the lady gang
things are about to change around here each week we catch up with hollywood's hottest girl posse
kelty knight becca tobin and jack vanik
today's guest is the diet coke loving wendy's endorsing star of real housewives of salt lake
City, entrepreneur of Vida, Blue Jay Seltzer, and Fresh Wolf, the queen of Sundance, and she is back
to help us wrap up the craziness of 2023. Please welcome back to the Lady Gang, our good friend,
Lisa Barlow. Lisa, how are you? You guys are my favorite gang. Oh, we love you. I'm good. I feel
like things are so crazy with Jack on. We're celebrating the holidays with one kid, which is
so weird it's so different how is it with jack being gone you know at first i would cry every
day and just like lay in his bed and cry and make him videos like a psycho and oh my god and i'm
like i can't send him to him but i'll see him when he gets back but um it was it's so different our
house is so quiet when you're used to having like all of his friends over and jack around it's just
weird it's quiet and henry is a handful like so maybe it's good jack's gone i don't know
he needs a lot of attention i wonder where he gets that um i think about you every time i get
like a big gulp how's your diet coke drinking going it's just drinking it currently how many
ounces is that it's like where do you eat 44 holy shit that's like twice the size of your head
I love it. Okay. So Lisa, for your information, this is airing December 29th. You're officially
the last guest of the year. So you've already had your birthday. So I'm going to ask you,
how's your birthday? How's my birthday? Happy belated birthday, Lisa Barlow. Thank you.
I hate getting older. I love old people. I just don't want to be one. You know, it's like
every year I'm like, oh my gosh, do we have to celebrate? But this year has
been so good like henry's birthday is the day before mine so we were able to celebrate
and like do this whole thing at the jazz because you know like love the jazz shoot for two um
um i don't do sexual favors for being there but i was just gonna ask but um you know we we do a
give back with fresh wolf so we like buy one donate one to foster care programs across the
United States so this year Henry was like mom we should invite foster kids to the game with us and
I'm like that would be amazing so that's what we did for our birthdays like Henry's the day before
me so he's lucky he can still talk about his number and his age and I hate that but um so we
had like a joint little party together and then of course Henry has a separate party and I have
a separate party for grown-ups but um that was like super exciting for us it's weird talking
about it when it didn't happen i'm like i have a question for you was the trip to palm springs on
this past season yes yes okay um so listen you know i'm we're big fans over here of salt lake
and i do want to just say one thing in your defense you got a lot of crap so in palm springs
if you don't watch salt lake in palm springs they did this like they went to tricksy motel and they
this whole thing and there was this night that they were like let's have everyone dress up and
drag and Lisa was like I don't want to do this like I don't I don't want to like put the clown
face on because they had to do it themselves and like I'm I at first I was like Lisa you can be
fun you can do it but then I realized what your life must be like on the internet and I know that
one time when I was hosting the insider they made me dress up like the bearded lady or something
from American Horror Story for Halloween.
Oh, my God.
And that picture, people send me that picture every year.
And I'm in a bald cap and, like, a muscle shirt.
It's so ugly.
And it was, like, a joke.
And at the time, I was like, I just want to be a good sport.
But, like, now that the internet is forever, I kind of understand.
So in your defense, I feel like people should get off your back about,
not that that was, like, the most pressing moment of the season of Salt Lake,
but I feel like it's fine. If you don't want to do the ridiculous costume. Oh my gosh. Thank you,
Kelty. And you know, what's crazy to me is I'm like, every time we're out, we're dressed up.
It's not like it's an anomaly and it's like, Oh, let's be fun. But I'm like, it's like everything.
And I pack so much for Palm Springs and I'm like, I didn't get to wear any of my clothes. I'm in
like random fits the whole entire time. Like I thought I was being a good sport wearing my
bikini and a sheer top and a little skirt to dinner. Like I'm like, I, and I really packed
nice things and I put a lot of time into it. So I was like, I give up, I'm not doing this anymore.
It was very dramatic during the reunion. They're like, can you do a Tik TOK where you're like
re-saying this? And I couldn't even match my own voice. Cause I was like, not frantic enough.
Your reunion fit was hot. Good girl. I love, I tried that dress on for the first time when I
was getting dressed to go on stage. I'd never even tried it on. No. And I didn't love my shoes.
Like, I feel like I needed like a really cool strappy shoe. We just couldn't find one. John
and I were at Saks the day before we went to Bergdorf, like every shoe store in New York.
And I'm like, I just will settle for these, but I did like my dress. You look so hot. All right.
So other than you, we're going to, we've invited you here, Lisa Barlow, because we've had you on
the podcast this year. 2023 was the year of Lisa Barlow. One of our best episodes of the year.
downloaded. You have so many fans, but we've invited you because we want to hear your take
on some of the hottest celebrity stories of the year. So along with the ladies. So I'm going to
begin. I have collected 85, but I'm going to like sparsely go through them. I want to start with
the most important story of the year. Bennifer is back together. Becca, you have thoughts.
He looks so miserable and I can't get over it. Even if I understand that he probably isn't
miserable he's just like that arresting miserable face yeah and I know that I have one but I I feel
like he's not even trying to make the effort to look like he's not being held captive by Jennifer
Lopez I feel like the whole thing was better in theory than it was in practice like I feel like
we really all as a society wanted it to happen and then when it happened we're like this is not
what I asked for because now they're realizing why they broke up the first time yeah they're
already there yet there I think they're there already I don't I think it's true love forever
I think she's so happy I think he's just from Boston and Bostonians don't come for me there
it's where the bankers live we played Boston show and you know my ex-high school boyfriend is there
and he also was not smiling during that show so I understand it's a Boston thing it's a Boston thing
Lisa what do you think um I just think you can't recreate I mean like that album when John proposed
to me i was singing that song and we were driving in a jaguar and i felt like so cool down to like
the pier and we were listening to that love life is love and love is living that song by j-lo i'm
yeah yes but um thing a girl and so i literally was like oh my gosh this is like their true love
story but i think they did it and they like i hope it goes amazing for them but i really think
like the first time was like a win and then it ended. So maybe don't go back. Everything has
its season. It didn't bring us together the way that I thought it would. No, it didn't. It didn't
create world peace the way that like the nineties promised us, you know, he looks really good at
Batman though. Like maybe he should be doing that. Yes. He was a hot Batman. I want to talk
about our love of the Kelsey brothers. I didn't even know football was a thing. I'm listening to
the Higher Levels podcast, or I watched it on TikTok. The Kelsey brothers, I had no idea these
men were. Well, the only reason I know who Travis Kelsey was is because he had that dating reality
show on E! back in the day called Catching Kelsey. Did you watch it? Yes, because I'll watch any
dating show ever. Okay. And he was so hot. So I've always been a fan. I never knew what team
he played for. Was he hot on the show? Yes. Did he make out with girls on the show? Yes. And I
wish I was one of them. I was one of the single too. I was like, it could have been me. He could
have been there. He's a beautiful man, but I didn't even know. I love them so much. I love
them. Are you on the train, Becky? You don't care. I don't, I mean, I don't dislike them.
I think they're cute and I think their family's really adorable. I don't think it's going to
last with Taylor Swift. I do. I think it's forever. No chance. Lisa. I want him to work
with Taylor Swift so badly. And I, he had a brother. I just knew he existed. And now I learned
they have a podcast, but I love him with Taylor Swift. I don't feel like there's anybody else
she could be with i agree it's like you need a major person here's the thing here's what's cute
about the kelsey brothers so there's like the little he's not little but like he's the little
one he's literally not little he's like he's massive okay well travis is like i would say
the really he's the good looking one but he's worse at football yeah and then there's jason
who's like the one that looks like santa claus a bit and then but he's the better football player
So it's like God's fair.
And then Jason was like on the people's sexiest person list.
But it was like, I don't know.
It was very strange.
But anyway, I like their dynamic because Travis is obviously the lady killer.
And Jason's like met his wife on Tinder and like have been together forever.
But then like he's better at football.
Like it's really cute.
Yeah, there's a balance.
It's a good balance.
Yeah, their family's cute.
Okay.
Jury duty happened this year.
Can you believe it?
Did you watch, Lisa?
Jury duty?
Yeah.
No.
Do you know what that is?
No.
it was a show yeah you gotta go so good okay tell me about it what did i miss okay so basically it
was a a documentary about jury duty but everybody on it was actors except for one guy so it's kind
of like the truman show but they're like following this one guy that thought he was like just doing
a normal jury duty and they're documenting it but like everybody else was so crazy and doing
like the weirdest shit so it was just like getting his reaction but he was like the sweetest
most innocent pure person that he came off across amazing but the whole show was just really well
done he just got totally duped oh that poor guy he so he had no idea that whole time no idea oh my
gosh he'll never trust again no that's what he said even when they revealed it to him he went
through his life for a long time thinking everything was fake still like he thought he
was in like the truman show like for real my nightmare that's kind of mean but like amazing
that he didn't know it the whole time but like his innocence is gone yes it's gone ever would
you say that about yourself now that you've been a housewife your innocence is gone I feel like it
is honestly I think I used to just be like oh they didn't know I may I'll stay away from them and now
you're like stuck with people and I feel like I used to be so much nicer I talked to my sister
Denise on the phone and I'm like how are you so positive how are you so nice I think it kind of
strips you off like niceness. And I think when the internet comes at you pretty hard and they're
like, die, bitch, I think it just takes away a certain like niceness about you. I feel like
you're nice, but like not as nice as I used to be. What do you wish that you knew before going into
it? Like, was there anything that you felt wish somebody had told you or something you would had
could like armor yourself with or anything or there's no preparation? I don't think there's
any preparation. And I remember after the first season, I was like, I had the best season. I was
nice to everyone. I was opinionated. I like was direct with everyone. And then it was like the
worst season ever. And I think that was like prep for two, three, four, but then I had a hot mic
moment. I don't know. I don't think you can. Yeah. And it's like the crazy things that they
cling to that you don't expect them to. So do you think you could avoid the internet as a housewife?
Like, could it be the type of thing where you just never go looking?
Um, I think it's better if you don't go looking like I, I see things when I'm tagged in it,
but I don't look for anything.
I don't Google my name anymore.
You're not on the subreddits reading every comment about you.
No, I think that would make you insane.
I think it would make you crazy.
I mean, do you guys do that?
Do you guys check out?
Just Kelsey.
Honestly, and I've stopped like I, yeah, it'll beat you down.
It'll never feel good.
But even if there's great things being said about you, the one bad thing will just destroy
you.
It destroys you.
And I just, I'm like two weeks now.
I know.
You could have so many people being like, Lady King is the greatest podcast in the world.
Lisa Barlow is the greatest housewife.
She's an icon.
I'm at Wendy's because of Lisa Barlow.
Like the people, when I was at BravoCon and people were like chasing her down the hallway,
like she was fucking Beyonce.
Like, you know, but then one person's like, your face looks like a horse or like, is that
Caitlyn Jenner?
And then I'll never forget it.
Like it haunts me, you know?
I think we all feel that way.
didn't Taylor Swift just put out a video or she was at some award show I saw it on TikTok I think
where she's like um she goes through like all the emotions of all the meanness and she's like you
tell me to change and I change you say you don't like my music so I change my like it was kind of
like the whole myriad of emotions I think everybody feels like when there's cheeto stained fingers
behind a keyboard yes or how lala kent said they're sitting on their dead lawn remember that
yeah she was like every time lala kent came on years ago it was a flashback episode recently
and we were saying how do you deal with the haters because she gets a lot oh yeah and she goes you
just close your eyes and you picture that person sitting on their dead lawn it's true
in a disgusting chair.
Well, they're all just like,
it's like, yeah,
you're like in your basement.
Yeah, the cheetah fingers.
Keyboard worrying, yeah.

Hi, I'm Barbara, aka your nursing educator on Instagram.
I'm a registered nurse and I create content to help nursing students feel ready to take on anything and everything that comes with the job.
And trust me, it's a lot.
Here's one of my favorite and simplest pro tips. Upgrade your scrubs to figs. Figs are designed
for us. They are super soft, lightweight, and breathable with four-way stretch to keep up with
your every move. Polished professional silhouettes? Check. Functional details and pockets in all the
right places? Check and check. No matter what your day has in store, figs has layers to match. Their
under scrubs are perfect on their own or as a lightweight base layer to help keep you cool
and dry and when the temperature drops their outerwear styles are made for everything from
chilly commutes to freezing hospital hallways if you're in health care or love someone who is
check out figs head to where figs.com and use code figs ca for 15 off your first order that's
where figs.com code figs ca now back to the lady gang
speaking of um cheeto fingers i don't let's talk about the golden bachelor
he's got a spray tan like that i'm very jack are you very happy with the ending of the golden
bachelor yeah i it's funny because i don't know if you know anything about the golden bachelor
lisa but like they right before the finale they had this like expose article about him being like
he is not who he said he was and this is what he did in his past because they had this whole story
about yeah you know like how his wife died and he didn't date for five years but I guess he did date
somebody so now they think he's a bad person so it's like we can't have nice things I think and
it bumps me out I like him my sister Denise was like I want to go on the golden bachelor and
marry him she was like obsessed I got a play-by-play every single week oh my god he's so cute I just
love him all my sisters are single so I think for them they're like he is the golden bachelor he's
the prize and I saw his interview with Katie Couric and I'm like he can't defend himself like
there's like he's gonna get ripped apart whatever he says and I think he chose to like plead the
fifth on that one but I felt bad for him I'm like your wife died you can date it's okay you're
single yeah well the problem is with anything it's like you put people on pedestals that are
human beings most men after their wives die are with someone within seconds because that is just
what happens and it's not bad. It's just that they don't want to be alone. That's how they
deal with their grief. And a lot of the time it's like their wife's best friend. There are so many
times and that's okay. I think it's stupid for ABC to have tried to hide the fact that he had
anything go on between his wife dying and five years. It's so stupid. And it also sets this
precedent that like anybody who has somebody die, you're somehow like a bad person. There's
a stigma attached to going and like f***ing someone a couple months later. Everyone needs
to be touched yeah I agree with all of that I agree with all it makes me pissed no I also there
was like this study that women like women fall in love with the person and men fall I hate this for
us but men fall in love with the companionship a hundred percent like and like so you're like oh
my god I could never have another John Barlow and like they're not like John Barlow and you have to
get over that but men are just like I know for sure if my mom ever passes away my dad is like
a hot zaddy. He's going to have a new woman in three months. Well, Lisa, I have a question for
you, Lisa. So my friends and I were just talking about, we're all kind of in like around a decade
of being married and there's a shift happening where in the beginning, most of my girlfriends
felt like they were a little bit needier of the companionship, if you will. So they wanted to do
things as a couple more and they liked that, like having my best friend with me all the time.
But now they're finding in the second half, their husbands are meeting them around more often and
wanting to know where they are. Cause they're feeling like it's almost like they're needy now
of the wife's time. Do you feel that shift with John Barlow? Like he obviously wants to be by
your side every second of every day. No, he doesn't. I swear he doesn't, but I make him,
I think, you know what, when I was younger, I didn't want, I think I needed more space.
I'm the opposite. Like, I feel like I needed more space when we first got married. And when
we got married, I felt like, oh my gosh, like I can do everything better. I can do everything for
myself. And I think that comes from being the middle child of six where you're used to just
taking care of things. And then probably in the last like 10 years, I'm like, I need you with me.
You have, I'm going to the doctors. You're coming to the doctors. I'm going to the office. And I
feel like it's kind of annoying for him he's like do people know I work because like I'm not with
you 24 7 honestly I had no idea does he work yeah yes John Vita John actually started Vita and then
I'm just like the wife that came in and was like oh my god I'm gonna help you like I have this
skill set let me help you but um no John works hard he's like invests in tech ed and does like
a lot of things but um and he's luckily at a point in his life where he has more freedom than he used
too um he used to be like I feel like the first part of our marriage I was with the kids at all
the school programs taking him to everything and then when he could come he would come and now
like we get to do it together but I do think like I do think it depends on the person but I feel like
I'm needier now and maybe it's the show I don't know but like I could be with John 24 7 and I
think he's happy when I go out of town. I feel like it would probably be the show. And I've
never thought of the housewives as doing something so positive for marriages because normally all
you hear about is it like tearing the marriages apart, blah, blah, blah. But if there's a good
foundation, I feel like you anchor in so much closer to that person because you realize what's
really important and the world around you is so insane. And you like seek solace and safety with
that person. So for a good marriage, it's probably actually really good for something like that.
John Marlowe was also a special man. I just want to set the scene at BravoCon. So there was a huge
convention area, right? And one whole side of it is just a big red carpet. And there's all these
tables because the press is there for 15 hours a day. And then someone would come through. You're
like, oh, Heather Gay's here. Okay. Oh, the Housewives from Miami are here. And you would
get up and go to your spot, do the interview, and then you'd go back to your computer.
And so Lisa was doing interviews and she's like coming down the carpet on, you know,
the right side.
And John Barlow is just, he's like a Chris Knight.
He's like, he's so tall and he's so like unassumingly handsome, you know what I mean?
And confident.
It's like a quiet confidence.
And he's just lurking in the back, but he's lurking along with her.
So while she's going 10 feet down the carpet, he's lurking 10 feet down the carpet.
And it's like very cute.
And then I embarrassed him and like, you know, and I was like, John Barlow is so famous,
so famous, John Barlow, but like, you know, the other, the other husbands, not all of the husbands,
but a lot of husbands, like they're, they're trying to get in on the fame. You know what I
mean? Like they're trying, they're like, they're almost jealous that they're not being interviewed.
And if I were like, Hey, come over here, guy from New Jersey housewives, he would be like,
here I am like ready. I almost died when I saw Whitney Rose's husband doing the podcast with
Meredith and her husband with the Fendi beanie on. I was like, no, that's a wrap for me. We don't
want him. That's a wrap for me. And I want like, I want the husbands to be honest. I want the
husbands to kind of stay mysterious. That's why I think I have such a crush on John Barlow. Sorry,
Lisa. I'm not kidding. He loves you. And even for this podcast, I was like, there's, we, we need at
least to have a special headphone. And I was like, Lisa, you need the headphone. And then it's like,
Lisa will text you an entire life story in one day. And then she's gone for six weeks. You don't
hear from her because she's off doing whatever. She's like laser. I like that. I love that. I
texted John Barlow and I was like, Hey, I don't want Lisa to know this, but I need her to have
this headphone. And I, she says she has it, but I don't believe her. Can you make, can I send this
to you? Can you make sure he has it? And he's like, send me a picture. And then he texts me
back. He's like, we've got the headphones. And I was like, you're such a good man. He handed them
to me. And I was like, Oh, I'm like, I needed those. And he's like, I know I talked to Kelsey
And I'm like, you know, I think healthy.
And I was like, that's amazing.
It would have made it so helpful.
I'm like, oh, and now one last thing I have to think about.
Exactly.
Okay.
I want to talk about a big story of the year.
Paris Hilton's surprise babies.
Oh yeah.
This is honestly, Becca trendsetter.
Yeah, I am.
That's right.
I had a surprise baby.
No one knew he was coming and then he was on the world and I announced it.
However, I did tell my own mother, which Paris did not do.
Did you see the clip of her literally walking in and presenting her baby to Kathy Hilton
and saying, this is my baby?
That's insane.
I died.
They died.
I was like, that is so bizarre.
And they don't have a good relationship?
No, they seem to have a good relationship.
But Paris justified it by saying something about how the world is so crazy and people
But like her mom's not the world.
Exactly.
In Paris's defense, Kathy was on E! News, and they were like, do you think Paris will
have kids one day?
This is before, you know, and with the timing of it, Paris would have been pregnant with
her surrogate at the time of this interview, and Kathy was like, well, I know they're doing
IVF right now, and said that out loud, and then it went everywhere in the press, and
Paris didn't want anyone knowing.
Paris said she did IVF and made embryos with us on our podcast.
She did?
Yes, she did.
And that was, like, two years ago.
Yes, she did.
Oh.
Yes, she did.
Okay, well, then, Kathy, you have, or Paris, no.
But how many people, so Becca had a surrogate for those new listeners and did not tell anyone
Ford was coming until Ford was born.
Yeah.
Who knew?
Us.
We knew.
You guys knew.
Zach knew.
He was getting a son.
No way.
Our parents, our immediate families.
Your sister, no?
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
Our close friends.
Okay.
There's people that like, you know, yeah.
And I didn't care if it got out.
I just, I think it's, I'm just not the type of person that was ever going to get on social
media and talk about and open myself up for any criticism, judgment or whatever, because
I didn't want it to taint the experience of being a first time mom.
Yeah.
That's valid.
And I was smart because as soon as that baby was born and I posted him, then people were
saying some really nasty things to me, which was why I didn't do it earlier.
It's so insane that people have opinions on that.
Like it's you having a baby.
Yeah.
No,
people are,
the moms are ruthless.
Yeah.
Do people come for you?
But I feel like now that your sons aren't babies,
they're not like helpless little beings.
People don't mom shame is bad,
right?
No,
they still mom shame me.
People are like,
you don't pay attention to your kids.
You don't love your kids.
Your kids hate you.
It's so funny.
The messages I get like,
but there's a lot of them.
It's not isolated,
but I'm like with Jack going on his mission,
they're like,
he hates you.
He's trying to get away from you.
Like,
just crazy stuff. You're like, have you met a teenager who wants to not get away from their
parents? Like that would be weird if he didn't. No, it's so weird. How's he doing? Do you know
how he's doing? He's doing great. He actually called this morning. He gets to call on Mondays.
He's in Bogota right now. And it took him a little bit to get out there because he took his
visa photo and the back of a boat with a shirt off. So unlike the Colombian government doesn't
care that you have a six pack so they denied his first visa application oh my god and then the
second time he's like it's incredible up shirt tie he was good but he was he was temporarily
reassigned to southern california spanish speaking and he loved it he had some like good experiences
but i think he was just like dying to get to bogota but he loves it and i kept saying jack
your mission's so bougie and he's like stop saying that mom it's like a sacrifice but now he's like
Yeah. It's kind of bougie. It's a good one. How long is he there for? He's there for two years,
20 more months. Oh shit. Wow. That's crazy. I'm really proud of you, Lisa. Yeah. I'm proud of
you. Thank you. It's, it's crazy. I'm proud of him. I'm like, it's hard as a mom to have your
kid leave and like have limited interaction, like no control over anything. He lives off of 50 bucks
a week. And he, like, I guess in Bogota, the cost of living is amazing because he has a housekeeper
and he has a chef. So I think Jack has it better than he did with me.
Pretty bougie. Should we go there? Should we surprise him, Lisa?
Let's go with Chris. Well, yeah, because he's close to where J Balvin lives in Medellin. And
so I've been there too. Columbia is beautiful. Like it really is gorgeous and it's so culturally
rich and the people are amazing. So I'm, I actually am thrilled for him. I can't wait to
see the man he comes back as sweet. He has a lot more gratitude, which is nice as a mom,
like be grateful. And he's like way more grateful, which is good. Yes. I love that.
you're listening to the lady gang
okay i want to talk about um the n-sync reunion jack i mean that was kind of uh such a bummer
you can just say it they're still planning more i know well allegedly but they came back for a
trolls song and then did a few interviews and then that was it is it because of britney
do you think that's what i thought i thought they like tell all the just the justin thing
so they were trying to make justin more likable is that like i think that i think it was like
with all of that coming out in her book my opinion is he's like okay i need to like lay
low for a little bit and like let that go away because i don't even think so they pulled back
i feel like they pulled back because i don't feel like trolls is a like we love the movie
trolls but it's not gonna like those rainbows aren't gonna fix like what britney said do you
agree? Yeah, you're right. I didn't think of that. Well, in like an NSYNC reunion would literally
like shake the world of millennials. Like that would be the biggest thing to ever happen to us.
So for them to actually have a reunion and actually go on tour, like it'd be the biggest
thing in the world. It's like, why did you do that? Yeah. Yeah. I think they're still going to
do it too. I will say this. I think that people and Lisa with housewives, Becca with acting,
even with us with the podcast with the way we consume our celebrities and things that are put
out into the world everyone makes it look so easy like it's like it's just magically television
shows and podcasts and records appear and like the people that are doing it really really well
like the Beyonce's and the Taylor's and the Doja Cat's and all these people like they have their
lives planned for three years they know exactly like so it's like Trolls movie is May this is
this, this is this, this is this. And inner hearings allegedly that I've heard is that
they didn't have it stockpiled where it was like trolls and then this a month later and then this
a month later. And so now I think the Britney thing is a step back, but I think they just
didn't have a good plan because the music business is so much different now than it was in the 2000s
when you could live off a song for six months. You have to have a new song every two weeks now
Cause if the song doesn't go on Tik TOK, it's like, we move on right away.
Like there's no albums.
There's no, so I think they just weren't ready.
Cause I do know that they were looking for songs.
Cause a lot of songwriters that we know were submitting.
So it's like, they were definitely going to do more.
Oh, I like that.
I think that makes me feel better.
Yeah.
That just doesn't even need a new song.
Who was your favorite?
Um, and singer Lisa.
Hi, Justin.
Not yours.
I was a JC girl through and through JC for sure.
Yeah, I was more of a Backstreet Boys girl.
Me too.
Oh, well, of course.
And also 98 Degrees.
Nick Lachey was my everything.
Wow.
Yeah.
That's a random one.
Yeah.
He's so hot from Newlyweds.
Are you kidding me?
Greatest, still, aside from Housewives, the greatest reality television ever.
Did you watch Newlyweds with Jessica Simpson?
I loved it.
I thought she was so cute and so funny.
I was sad that they broke up.
I know.
Yeah.
I was like, that was the best era of TV.
When we launched Vita, well, when we were starting and building Vita to like getting
ready to launch it, we were in LA and Nick Lachey was there.
So we got to go back and talk to Nick Lachey.
John and I did.
And like, Jack was so little.
He was like a year old and like in his car seat with us.
It was crazy.
Cute.
After all those pictures came out with like Nick Lachey and Kim Kardashian.
Do you remember that?
Oh my God.
Did they date?
Did they date or was it right after the divorce?
No, I think they had a crush on each other.
Like, I think it was right after the divorce.
Look it up.
That'd be such a weird couple.
Weird.
The last thing is a little bit of a rant that I want to go on,
and I want to know, Lisa Barlow, and all of your thoughts on this.
The last big story of 2023 that I think we all need to understand.
Pat Sajak is leaving Wheel of Fortune.
Oh, my gosh.
And I'm happy for Pat and his retirement.
Ryan Seacrest is replacing Pat Sajak.
I love Ryan Seacrest yeah Ryan Seacrest is the reason I have a job right now and work on E
he's an icon he has reinvented music shows and red carpets and tuxedos and even frosted tips
like he is an icon in the entertainment business so this is no shade on Ryan Seacrest but the fact
that they did not
just promote Vanna
to be the host of
Wheel of Fortune is
a travesty in
feminism. Do you think she
wanted it, though? That's what Chris Knight said
to me. I don't think she wants that job.
You don't think so? No. She's like, I want to
just put the gown on and go. She makes so much
money doing nothing. She doesn't have
to be there for meetings. She just pops
in, gets her glam, puts on her gown,
and she turns the numbers. They don't even
turn the numbers anymore. It's a touch screen.
right she touches it that sounds like my kind of job some man is sitting behind the scenes and he
could be like putting the ease up on the board if she was hosting i want to know from you vanna white
i want to know did you want that job did you ask for that job or were you not interested because
now that adrian left e-news people are like oh kelty you're going to be the new host of e-news
and i was like i don't want that job i don't want to work that hard so maybe vanna's a kelty
thank you lisa do you think vanna should have hosted wheel fortune if she only if she wanted
to. Yeah. Only if she wanted to. And I feel like if she wanted to, do you think they would have
promoted her? Maybe not. I think it would be a really bad look if they didn't. I don't think
she wanted it. No, I don't think so. Did I ever tell you about my love with Pat Sajak on Twitter?
No. Yes, I think you have, but tell us again. Pat Sajak and I probably 15 years ago were friends
on Twitter. Wow. And we used to have the best rapport back and forth and he was like kind of
dirty and like would say really funny, really witty and would just say like, kind of like
weird things. And I loved him. Wow. And I wish I still had a Twitter because he should come on
her podcast. Oh my God. Wait, I could hit him up. You should. I have my Twitter. I'd only have it
on desktop because people are too mean on Twitter for me. I know. That's why I had to delete it.
I can't look at it all the time. Me and Pat, we're besties. Wow. That's incredible. I know.
I miss him. Good for you. All right. Well, Lisa Barlow, we love you. Thank you for coming on the
podcast everyone please follow lisa you're probably already following her at lisa barlow
and make sure that when you're leaving your house you are washing your hair with fresh wolf
then you are buying it for your hot man then you're getting a blue jay seltzer and then you're
finishing your night with a vita tequila and i also love well my favorite i love how much vita
is on the show i'm very proud of you that you're hustling a housewife moment i don't know what
your Bethany Claus is like girl, but we're drinking Vita tequila a lot on the housewives.
Bravo to you. Um, I love my contract. I'll just say that.
Yes, bitch. Did you see, did you see, this is a dumb question.
How much did your sales spike after housewives? You know what? It's like so much. The hard thing
was it was during the pandemic and we had to deal with the global glass crisis. So it wasn't just
it was like, it was like Patron, everybody like was dealing with glass. So we were like,
it really helped you to like ramp up and change your business where you're like, okay,
we got to stockpile glass for like 10 years, but it definitely, it definitely helped.
I remember when we were going on tour and I was like, Lisa, can you sponsor the tour? She was
like, I'd love to, but we don't have any bottles. There's a global glass crisis. And I was like,
God damn it.
World's the world is weird.
Yeah.
When Mary Cosby sent some shade your way with Vita tequila,
did that make you rage as if she was talking about your child?
It totally made me rage,
but I expect it from Mary.
You know,
what's funny like this season when she was coming to my app,
app race ski event,
we had talked the day before and she's like,
I'm going to drink Vita and love it because every season that she's been on,
she says something rude about my tequila.
And I'm like,
you don't even drink tequila.
And like,
you probably don't even understand the champagne you're drinking or wine.
Like someone's telling you it's good.
You're not like doing the research.
So it was like kind of annoying.
But this season I was like,
Oh my God,
here we go again.
Another like rude Mary.
She's actually been super nice lately.
Like she's texting me happy holidays and.
I saw her at Kathy Hilton's Christmas party thing.
And she's so beautiful in real life.
Yes.
She's tiny too.
She's so tiny.
about the way they shoot her and I honestly Heather like both very pretty much prettier in
real life than on you know some people like me like I'm so pretty in real life and on camera
I just look like a horse no you look beautiful both but thank you Becca Becca just looked at
me she didn't even do the thing that you guys did Jack and Lisa were like no no you're pretty
she's such a dick um I rolled my eyes at you for saying that you look like a horse I always think
You look so beautiful and you have the best legs ever.
Best legs.
She really does.
Best legs in the biz.
When we were watching the Rockettes, I'm like, this is why Kelty was one of them.
Your legs were better than all the girls on that stage.
Thank you so much.
Well, I was a Rockette when they weighed you and it was a little more intense.
So it's a new era.
Anyway, Lisa, we love you.
Happy holidays.
