Well, what is this?
Welcome to the Lady Gang.
That's amazing.
Say that again.
The Lady Gang.
Things are about to change around here.
Each week, we catch up with Hollywood's hottest girl posse, Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek.
Hello, hello, hello. Welcome to the Lady Gang.
I have Jack Vanek to my right, CEO, girl boss of her own clothing company, Jack Vanek.
Across from me is Miss Kelty Knight, entertainment journalist, Emmy-nominated.
Yep.
I was waiting for her to jump in and say, loser.
I have my fun fact.
what's your fun fact um when i was a kid i used to play monopoly by myself and i was like the
thimble and the horse and all of the hat and the top hat dark yeah and i would go around the table
and switch the seat because i was so lonely anyway oh canada is so bleak that's like an
only child thing that sounds like something i would i have a brother oh i have a fun fact
okay tell me um when i was younger i wanted to grow up and be a mouse did you think it was
reality i thought it was like a profession a mouse yeah that's what i want like from cinderella did
you want to find like gowns for rich girls i don't know i'm not really sure i don't remember that
all right and i'm becca tobin actress podcaster and my fun fact is i used to go to the bahamas
every year with my family and i would get cornrows every year and i thought i was so hot we've talked
about this before i know but i did too and we thought we looked like beau derrick yep my dad
was like you look like beau derrick in 10 in in the movie 10 about the perfect woman well let me
tell you i see pictures now and i certainly do not look like you get like the um colored beads
no i think i just did i should i think i did white a lot oh you're so chic i was really chic you guys
with my corn rose i definitely did the colored beads of course you did you're you have some a
lot of sparkle a lot of flair all right it's time for good week yes it is bad week oh no okay i am
gonna start because my good week just happened today oh yeah and it's one of my best oh pressure's
on okay i'm taking orly my dog out for a walk and we walk around the block this morning and um i see
this frantic woman on the corner and she's like i i just um she was like she could barely put a
sentence together she was panicked she's like my my dog got out and it was like she she must have
snuck through the gate and she's a little white Maltese. And I don't know where she went. And I
think she might've gotten hit by a car and I don't know where she is. And have you seen her? And I
was like, I haven't. And then I was like, obviously I'm going to have to help you look for your dog.
Cause I would panic. I can't imagine. So I was like, okay, what's her name? Her name is Sophie.
So I was like, I'll just go around the block. I'll just call her name. I'm like, blah, blah,
i do this for an hour an hour another woman comes down from her balcony she heard us yelling for the
dog's name she comes down she's like what can i do to help we're looking around the neighborhood
there's nothing and i was like at this point i don't know where this dog is yeah so um the owner
was like i don't she was leaving to get on a flight to go to chicago she had her suitcase
out there and was bringing the dog with her oh no so she's like i can't go i don't know what to do
the other neighbor was like have you checked every corner of your home like have you checked
everything inside your house she's like i just moved in like i i have and i'm just she's gonna
be so scared she doesn't know the neighborhood so i was like you know what let me send orly
my dog into your house because if the dog is hiding it's a small dog like orly's gonna find
find the dog if it's in there and i'm thinking we're screwed like this dog is gone it's in the
middle of the road yeah it's gone run over um so orly runs around the house and then she runs
upstairs to the bedroom and we follow her up there and as she passes a suitcase on the floor
a little white dog jumps up out of the suitcase to say hi to orly you saved the day i didn't
orly did oh she's like she's a hero she's like lassie and i was like oh this woman was like oh
my god like thank you so much your dog like saved the day so everyone who gives me dirty looks in
the airport when i have a service dog guess what she is a service dog she's a rescued dog
mother effers you know what that's a feel-good story it was the best feeling that was a vid if
we had video of that we could be making a lot of money on youtube i know that'd be such a good
viral video i thought about it when i was doing it i was like should i be snapping this and i was
like no because if it's a well sad ending yeah if the dogs run over i can't get a close-up of the
dog in the middle of beverly boulevard after being hit that's not a good ending no but this was a
great ending little dog pops out of the suitcase was so cute that is adorable wait so that was
your good week what's your bad of course isn't that good well it's a bad that's turned too good
the bad week was um i this is another dog related story um i let orally out at night before we go
to bed and she does her business and then we get back in bed and like she's really good she's two
she's potty trained she's got it together she's super smart obviously so i wake up one morning
and i like take her out blah blah i i go to make up the bed and there's a little turd in the bed
like a little baby turd and i'm like like a tootsie like like a smaller than a tootsie
a half poo like a half poo it was stuck on the back of her bum uh-uh it wasn't stuck because
i check for dingleberries and her hair is so short right now that i would see it it's like
did she poo in in her sleep and i was just like i can't do i i went over and i picked up the turd
with some toilet paper i threw it in in the toilet and then i just washed my duvet cover but i was
like what if i had made my way to that part of the bed and like rolled on it that would have been
a really really bad week so orally you're not so great after all it was a high and it was a low
i should have done the low and then i sorry lassie sorry so you left on a bad note oh well well jack
how about you um okay well i know that everybody is very concerned about my journey of birth
control and we are and finding very what works for me because nothing does but um i recently
got an iud and i've been team iud mortified to get one and becca's like loves it great best thing
you've ever done best decision ever yet i hear from other people that it's the most terrifying
thing to ever experience and it's the most painful thing you'll ever do your body and it's worse than
childbirth and all this kind of stuff so walk us through how's it been so number one i psyched
myself out going in there because i'm like oh my god it's gonna be so painful i'm gonna want to die
i'm gonna faint because people have fainted before it was painful but like it wasn't the worst thing
in the world they're a bunch of pussies they're a bunch of pussies that's crazy and i have a high
pain tolerance so i'm like i don't know if you guys just don't get period cramps or something
like that but it was okay and i went by myself and i drove myself home because people said that
you need to have somebody drive you home it's not an abortion i know i mean that's crazy do you need
to get driven home after an abortion i would imagine allegedly my friend said so um so it
wasn't that bad and i i i'm very proud of myself for doing it and it was a little bit crampy and
it wasn't you know the best thing in the world but i did it and hopefully my body doesn't expel it
good job you know you know I'm trying to not get pregnant how was the after pain so well that's my
that was my good week now transitioning into the bad week okay um I now have the worst cramps of
my entire life like almost as bad as the whole actual IUD process so stop yeah and this morning
I spent about like four hours crawled in a ball crying and I was really sad and I was driving
over here and I was like crying on the phone to Scott just because I want him to know my pain
because he's never gonna experience it's his fault yeah and i'm like you know what's gonna
make me feel better i'm like you know what i i think i deserve a kombucha so i went to the store
got myself a kombucha and anybody that's drank kombucha before you know if you like kind of
shake it a little bit it'll it'll explode so i'm in the car crying and i'm like i'm gonna feel
better once i have my kombucha i go to open it and it explodes all over my car all over my body
It smells like vinegar kombucha to me. We had this conversation about spit and it's like the
nastiest thing. I feel like kombucha smells like rotten spit. It does, which is why I don't know
why you're drinking it and why you're treating it like a reward. I like the taste of it,
but the smell of it's terrible. So now I smell like Ron spit. Thank you so much for that Kelty.
Um, Ooh, I think I'm going to start with my bad weeks. We can end on a positive note. Okay.
Okay, so I was in a hotel room on assignment, and normally when I'm on assignment, I get a makeup artist in every city that comes and does my makeup, so I'm not that great at makeup, so that when I'm on TV, I look cute, right?
It's questionable, depending on how good the makeup is, depending on what city you're in.
Was it another black, smoky eye?
I didn't get a black, smoky eye.
No, no, no.
This was actually not a black, smoky eye.
The makeup was actually really, really, really good, but here's my embarrassment.
This is so embarrassing.
so all right so when i go in a hotel right like i just kind of like shower and then i go do my life
and come in and out and like there's certain times like when i pee that maybe i don't like
oh wow okay no so here's the thing on your hand i got no i got to the hotel i got to the hotel
i unloaded my bag i sat down i was like okay do my makeup i was like wait let me pee first i went
and peed and i came back out and she was like you know what i'm gonna pee too and she peed and then
she came out and she was like i'm gonna open your soap okay and i was like oh my god like i just
peed so quick and then ran out and didn't wash my hands and then she caught me the makeup artist
stranger with like a non-opened hotel soap but also how weird of her to ask and it wasn't you
guys are real friends because no i felt so embarrassed that she was like i'm gonna open
your soap okay like you bitch didn't wash your hand did she say it like condescending no she
didn't say condescending but i felt so mortified because then she was like all up in my face and
i'm trying to be like yeah i'm gonna wear this great dress and all this stuff but then i was
like i'm that girl that doesn't wash their hands like i mean here's the thing how many times do
you wash your hands like i think out of like sometimes when i'm at home and i'm like watching
tv or whatever i'll just do like a quick pee and go who washes their hands in their own home after
peeing does anyone that's my question so the hotel room technically is part of the your home yes no
that's weird i mean there are germs all over hotel rooms but you're gonna get the same your hands are
probably dirtier from touching like the table it's true there's so much jizz on curtains in
hotel rooms that you probably got your hands dirtier from closing your blinds okay so you
guys have changes because it's a bad week and i was like oh my god your hands were on any of the
comforters that they don't wash no so i would thought i was ousted as like a non-hand washer
but you guys are saying i'm okay stupid okay fine here's my good week um i got an email from my
paparazzi oh in new york he was wondering when i'm coming back do you pay him no no no oh is he a
real paparazzi a real paparazzi and so he's just like a blogger no he the reason why he wants to
know what i'm shooting like when where the celebrities are going to be so he's like oh
are you coming back are there any big premieres like he wants to like he doesn't really want me
right i like to think he does he wants everything he wants blake lively he wants to know like are
you coming to town for blake lively and so anyway he wrote me a really nice message and i was like
oh i'm not going to be in new york anytime soon but i'll see you soon and he goes you know it's
just so nice for a big a-list star like you to be so friendly what so that's my good week he
called me a life on the a-list life on the a-list we all know i'm not a-list but it was so nice to
hear it that's cute maybe he's doing those compliments that you do like where they're
like phony but he knows he's like i'm gonna get something out of this so start with a compliment
and he knows just what to make you just fall in love with him and then i'm like blake lively's
at the crosby if if you're a-list what's blake i don't know i mean we're the same she's royalty
we're basically the same yeah you and blake lively just the same it's crazy the paparazzi
outside of podcast one today is insane i mean guys i'm sorry they follow me everywhere does
anyone have any sunglasses i can borrow okay all right really nice guys yeah though we're really
proud we have a very special guest because it's the first time we've ever had a tag team couple
on the show
okay what's going on now here's the lady gang all right guys i am so excited about our guests
this week actually they're way too cool to be here we have tricked them um i am we are as the
lady gang deeply considering joining forces with our guests so that we can be basically the five
white blonde basic bitch spice girls group um but unfortunately our guests are too busy writing
executive producing and starring in their own tv series barely famous on vh1 and they're also
really busy hanging out with their best friends kate hudson and jessica alba how did you guys get
so cool please welcome from barely famous on vh1 sarah and aaron foster that is an amazing did you
like it i think describing us as white and basic is the most accurate description oh same for all
of us we are five blonde girls we should be at the sitting around a bottle of rose convention
but everyone should go around the table and say what their natural hair color is
i i want to say it's brown all the way around that would i would say yes i'm not even really
sure but it's definitely so sad for brunette so we don't even try to be a brunette we just
immediately oh i've tried it's like 10 years it does and it also makes you just look like
dead so boring a little dead and and that like vanilla look where there's no sparkle but that's
how you know when someone's a classic beauty when they look good with like brown with their
mousy brown, mousy
hair. Oh, you're really, you're naturally
a pretty person. Yeah, we gotta hide it behind
the platinum. It's like Khaleesi. I only want to see
her with that white blonde hair. I know, it's beautiful.
You don't know who that is, Sarah? It's from Game of Thrones?
Yeah, I didn't know. I don't watch it either,
but I know who Khaleesi is.
I actually... I feel like girls in New York
though, like cute little Jewish
brunette girls in New York pull it off.
They do. Yeah. I mean, not really.
I mean, then he likes skirt. I can't.
And Becca's Jewish, so, you know.
oh that's actually really cool i've dated so many jewish guys who are like this is so fun
i'll never marry you oh yeah it's brutal my friend almost converted for her boyfriend because he
wouldn't introduce her to his parents until she was jewish oh i've heard this story a lot it
happens i would convert i've said that before i would you would yeah because i mean here's what
i i think that when i mean i'm not a religious person so if it's very important to the other
person and their religion of choice is not like scientology or um they're not like an evangelical
yes like of all the religions they're not a radical something you're not yeah i would i would
totally go jewish i to me jewish is all about like family and i love the idea of like a shop
about shabbat dinner and the delicious bread offer i can't eat that but yeah it looks beautiful
she doesn't eat bread how would you how could you imagine you're right you don't look like
you guys are skinny she has colitis workout pants you have colitis right yeah thank you for saying
that on the podcast yes that is why i don't eat bread though well you know yeah wow let's get
focused on your gluten-free person in hollywood only person who really needs it oh no she's been
through the ringer yeah i mean she's been thank you that'll be all that'll be all thank you
okay she's had so many things up that butt i mean she shit her pants so many times this is right up
our alley so talk to us about barely famous for all of our listeners that have not tuned in yet
but are about to they're about to get up in your business what is it and why should the lady gang
watch sarah okay so we fight because i say that erin loves the sound of her own voice so she tries
to give me opportunities to talk but then when it comes down to i'm like okay you can yeah every
time i pause i look you can't pause on radio give her like a like a that's dead air that's dead air
that means people are i try to give you an opportunity and you rarely take it so then
what happens is i just keep going hold on i let what i do when it comes to how um how the show
came about i do go to you just because you are the writer you are a writer and it was it did
come from you and your team so i will let you do it you just basically you're like lucky to be a
part of it yeah right you're writing the coattails it's fine yeah that's like yeah that's what we're
doing to kelty so it's true yeah um okay so if you've never seen barely famous it is um a show
that is like sort of about the making of a fake reality show it's sort of like a curvy enthusiasm
for pop culture so it has like the celebrity cameos of an entourage it had like the behind
the scenes of a comeback kind of show it has the like outskirts of hollywood like an extras
um and it is about la fake these two really delusional two girls who are super desperate
to become famous exactly and are completely delusional look at me you're such a dick
back at tobin just follow me on instagram at kelty night
then you were living kelty's life basically basically yeah yeah we were inspired by kelty
uh we discovered her a couple years ago and we're like that girl's so sad we should write a show
about that's actually why we're here exactly it's all coming out now yeah so initially the
intention was to make a show about the making of a fake reality show and that came about because
we were getting um networks saying when are we going to get the foster girls to do a reality
show and we were like no we're never gonna do that i was writing on an nbc show the new normal
sarah was an actress on 90210 and we were kind of like we don't want to do that but i was winning
emmys guys i was busy winning emmys i just saw ian she's being sarcastic about the other thing
though you know i was joking you didn't win an emmy no but so the point is is we were we're
i mean i don't think you're you don't really when things are kind of working out your intention
you're you're you don't go like oh let me do a reality show it's kind of what you do when things
are nothing's working out when you're sort of looking to feed i guess or you're just looking
to be on television right but then you know things took a turn and they weren't working out for us
the show that i was writing on got canceled and then sarah wasn't working on 90210 it was the
summer i had to go out for development season and come up with something i was trying to take shows
out to pitch and you know i think what anybody knows is that when something's not authentic it
just doesn't really work so i kept trying to come up with like this is a really good sitcom idea
like a girl moves in with her dad because he became single it's like just like you're just
trying to find something and it's like i couldn't sell anything and so when they were going well we
want to get the reality show with you guys and we were saying no we kind of me and my managers at
three arts and they're like this really great comedy company they have really good good good
ideas for everything and so we looked at each other we're like there's something weird in this
idea that everyone's trying to sell a reality show and we're like trying to avoid being on a reality
show what if we made a show about two girls a scripted show who think that they're too good
for being on reality tv so they're shooting a reality show about that and like like anything
the idea kind of evolved into really just a show that makes fun of los angeles culture and less
about the fake show that they're making what's your number one favorite los angeles culture thing
like favorite to hate like to hate yeah or like overheard in la that twitter account so good i
don't know i just think there's this whole they're worth in this whole bubble now where these days
every honestly i mean just look around it's it is scary it's true people's faces freaked up no but
we're living at a time where everybody's looking to get on television not even actors anymore it's
now like my pediatrician i think is shopping a show about being a pediatrician it's it's this
thing now where it fame is so attainable to anyone to be honest yeah that instead of you're going to
the place of what am i good at yeah what what do i love to do it's about how do i get my tv show
yeah it's so scary it's terrible so our show is really about two girls who are looking to just
stay relevant they'll do anything i mean we get we take dj gigs in one of the episodes i mean and
it's kind of this idea that everyone in la says they have a job but you don't really see them
working so no one has a job i mean by the way like i'm definitely guilty of driving around at
noon looking for a workout class I mean we've all been guilty of it but like it my character on the
show she says she's a writer and then Sarah's like well what have you written and I'm like well
it's not my job to be writing it's my manager's job to like bring me ideas of things that like
like send me on out on meetings like meetings are so many meetings aren't jobs you just go on all
these meetings and like you don't get paid for those meetings why are there so many meetings
you know everyone's doing a meeting no one's doing a contract yeah but what's so funny too is is no
one auditions anymore everyone is taking meetings like well no when you have when you have sides
and you're waiting in a line and you're signing in it's it's an audition that's not a meeting
that's an audition oh my god a lot of people are also going on i i want to ask you guys about being
sort of women executive producers because um our listeners may or may not know there's a lot of
penises running networks and eping shows and so what has been the challenge being a female
going to a network
and making these tough decisions
deciding who's going to get what
and who's going to run the show
and all that stuff.
Well, I think because we are
the stars of the show,
but we are also the creators,
executive producers,
I think someone had said to us once,
would you want us to talk to you
like talent or like producers?
To even have to ask us that question.
So human.
Do you want the fake answer
or do you want the real answer?
Yeah.
I've definitely learned I think what's very hard for women is knowing how to say what you want without feeling like you're acting like a bitch
And I have fully accepted acting like a bitch if that's how it comes across
I think that you have to have confidence in your choices
It's very easy to be talked out of things and I do believe that men will be condescending
But by the way women are condescending. Yes, I was just about to say this
It's not just the men women are not any easier to work for and that's just the truth
Like I've had some really bad experiences working for women because you think you're
going to be championed by them, but truly women are competitive and women do feel threatened
sometimes.
And so you get different kind, different degrees of, um, kind of being put into a corner that
you have to find your way out of.
And I have found my voice and, and have no problem telling someone professionally how
I feel.
And, and you have to be willing to, like we had, whenever we've had issues, I've decided
i don't need you more than you need me so i'm willing to lose everything to have what i want
i will not stand behind a show that i'm not proud of so if you want to have these six cutesy moments
in the show that are completely against the tone i want i'd rather you cancel it than put that on
the air you have to be willing to like die for your art it is funny though it is funny though
when some of our male producers go nuclear everyone's like oh it just they just you know
we brush it off it's like what do you mean but if i go nuclear it's is it that time of the month
she's crazy she's difficult in all fairness you are crazy she's all those things but when i will
say i do when a guy does it it's like he's just a boss what do you mean he's being a boss he's
being he's being boss i am the boss he's so fired up what exactly and when a woman is good at his
job yeah yeah he knows what he wants so i do find myself in a situation where i feel strongly about
something where i'm going okay how can i verbalize this to make everyone feel really comfortable and
really safe instead of just being like this is bullshit this is not working this is not funny
and i don't like it do your job if i said that it would be like she's a lunatic exactly also as
women learn to justify ourselves and i think as soon as you justify yourself you're asking for
someone to treat you like a child so a woman executive at paramount in a meeting once said
to me that she learned to stop using the word just in emails i just wanted to check in i just
wanted to follow up i just wanted to say hi just say what you want to say i wanted to say hi i'm
checking in yeah yeah i'm following up on our on our email i'm following up on our meeting i'm i
want to talk to you about the project don't justify existing because i do think you give
people permission to treat you however they're treating you and there are people who don't get
treated like shit and those people will not stand for it yeah i love that if someone thinks you come
across like a bitch i do think that that's that you have to accept that yeah 100 you're listening
to the lady gang okay so every one of our lady gang guests answers hollywood heartbreak what
has been the moment where you didn't get the gig maybe you auditioned for it something happened
you were supposed to be um you know on the oprah show and it fell through what has been that time
where you thought you know what i'm good i'm packing my bags it's too hard i'm out oh i live
here so many wouldn't have anywhere to go i'm just like i am going back to the west side
to my apartment to be exactly where i started i've gotten so close to so many cool jobs where i'm
convinced you know to the point where i remember saying an audition once i get i did an audition
and everyone was like that was great that was great and i i think i had i was so frustrated
I looked at a room filled with big producers, a very big casting director, and I go, guys, honestly, I don't want to walk out of here wondering if I got it or not because you're giving me the vibe that, like, I know I did.
You're giving me the vibe that we're doing this.
Please just tell me.
I'm getting on a plane.
Are you, is this going to, you know, how's this going to go?
You're the crazy girl that's, like, lining the relationship.
Full stop.
Full stop.
Did you get it?
And they respected it.
I did not get it.
but i'm glad i said it i'm glad i said it because i i really needed in that moment i needed to know
because i've walked out of so many auditions being like i killed it they've said when do we
need to be on set they've said things to me like do you like vancouver you know i mean like full
stop so no i um there was a movie i think the one that kind of hurt well it hurt but then again
olivia wilde got the role for another thing so you kind of have to go okay this is like olivia
Wilde got it you kind of got to just be okay with that but it was a Jason Bateman movie
and it was down to me and her and I auditioned for it four times I even auditioned for it when
I was pregnant and I didn't tell them I was pregnant so I wanted it so badly I didn't get
it Olivia Wilde got it but what'd they say to you in the room when you asked in that moment if you
got it or not I think they were so shocked I mean I didn't say did I get this but I was like guys
let's be honest here right I mean how am I right for this like I went into a whole thing and it
kind of was like you are you were right you're great we have to do our due diligence and we have
to see other people but you're amazing for this and you're so good you know so they beat her on
the bush and didn't really say no but they didn't say no but it's hard i've been on the other side
where i already have the job and i'm in the room while guys are coming in auditioning you know
chemistry reads it it is hard being on that side yeah also you're like great all that desperate
energy no but being an actress i've been acting for like 15 years i mean it's brutal it also
brings out the worst in your humanity like you you stop respecting yourself because you
will take anything like has any actress ever read sides or something i mean like you know what i
just i'm not really responding yeah me a hundred times no but you you you go you will you you move
around your boundary because you just are so desperate to work and be picked you're like
please pick me. Like your life is like being on the bachelor. You're just dying to get the
freaking rose. It's like, I have to say that being now in a place where we've created our own
content, I tried to be an actress for 10 years. All of my twenties were spent. And now, yes,
Sarah points out that I did one episode on every great show, but that you can't make a living that
way. And I was not doing something that was so crazy because you, but it doesn't matter because
I wasn't doing anything that I loved or was passionate about or was inspired by. If, if a
friend caught that episode of CSI Miami I wasn't like wait for this this is amazing I'm like yeah
I played dead hooker like how do you like it I mean it's you're you're not you're like you're
not living your dream so to be able to step back and like our dad always said to us if something's
not working retreat and attack from a different direction don't bang your head against a wall
the wall is not moving so we did have to step back I had to step back and go like what do I
really want to do with my life and I didn't wasn't making money so I got a job at free people this is
not that long ago it's like six years ago and i was just like i'm just gonna make money until i
can figure it out and it wasn't until i like swallowed my pride and just started over that
i was like if i'm being honest i'm 27 years old i want to be a writer and i completely started over
and then ironically i became an actress in my own show and like got a chance to do what i wanted to
do but you have to take control of your own life erin did you get a good discount at free people
you don't even understand when you work at free people your entire family and i mean stepbrothers
stepsisters anyone who's related to you gets 50 off no no no 40 urban outfitters 40 okay 40 urban
outfitters anthropology and free people we were all devastated so when she quit you're like i'm
sorry you're being successful and you don't have to work at free people anymore can you get me this
dress she actually asked if i could work like a couple hours a week no i was like i'm sorry you're
picking up people's clothes and people are being so rude to you at free people in brentwood where
you're waiting on your friends but if you could just do it for you know one day not willing to
do that yeah you're not going to be open to any opportunity you cannot think you're too good for
anything you have to pay your dues and it if it either happens at the beginning or it happens
later at some point you're paying your dues it's just how it works what's your ish moment for me
it's your like color blocked um beautiful spreads like your press photo billboard things where but
anyway that's for me i'm like it is so chic i just love it so much but the ish is like the moment
you think ours yeah what are yours what is your moment where you thought i am the ish paparazzi
following you a red carpet johnny depp takes his tiny hands out of his little pockets and holds
your hand and you're like i know mine okay i know mine my ish moment was being at the um the the caa
oscar night before party and people that i respect so much and wouldn't even say hi to because
they're who they are came up to me to say I love your show oh my god your show I love it it's my
husband's favorite show it's so to be in a room with those kinds of people and having people that
I don't even know also and then people that I do know validate the show like that that was sort of
that was that's cooler to me than seeing yourself on a bus that's also super cool but having peers
having people that you respect respect something you've created that feels good that feels good
who are the people is there anyone will you name a name names i mean who was the best one yeah or
the most unexpected the most unexpected i think was jenny aniston oh my god first of all you
weren't there don't take my story no no but who's a fan of the show yeah so i went to is this your
ish moment well it actually is not although it's an amazing what's your ish moment mine is not as
much uh mine is honestly more from a writing standpoint people wanting to take to mine was
like like getting hired to write a movie last year at universal felt like very much like i'm a real
writer before that even being a staff writer on the nbc show i was on every day that i drove on
to the paramount lot with like my badge and i was like i'm an employee here like i get paid to write
on on a television show that's on the air like that's crazy to me because you can finagle your
way into like some different things you can even as an actress you can get away with some things
here and there even like our show you never know what somebody's you know green lighting our show
they think that they're getting something else and like you don't know what what it goes on right
you cannot be a writer until someone unless someone believes that you're good at it and i
didn't go to college so i didn't have any training as a writer and i taught myself and when i actually
got hired in a real way you can't fake it you cannot fake you can fake everything else but you
could not fake yeah it just felt very validating i was like my my insurance is writer's guild like
it just felt like a real person for the first time in so long that was more real for me the
jennifer aniston thing was very cool though because i had met her two times with sarah and
she's so nice that you think it's not real and we talked about this maybe was she when you see
and meet jennifer aniston it's like she just had an orgasm and a margarita yeah and then she's like
she radiates just like happiness she has filled his world time yeah it's wild it's like an
addicting energy to be around messy but like done it's amazing she's just a very very sweet person
and i just didn't think that she would ever like say i was a birthday party with 500 people and
i'm thinking like oh there's jenna and i've met her a couple times i'll keep walking she's not
gonna like remember me and she goes erin when are you gonna ask me to be on your damn show
i love your show i'm dying to make fun of myself why haven't you asked me i'm like so bummed i
feel like everyone's on this show and i'm not on it i was like is this for real like am i dreaming
yeah and we'd already wrapped production so we couldn't and i was just like that was just felt
very cool what did you say i was like honestly we don't want you jen i was literally thinking to
myself could we pick back up on production and like get another episode i know i just was like
oh that's so amazing that we would love to have you oh my god that would be great season three
you know that's something to take to the network like hey when you pick up our third season you
know what's interesting it doesn't matter we had huge stars first season who have tens of millions
of followers and it our ratings were still bad like it doesn't really matter it surprisingly
doesn't what it does it you know it's interesting it adds a certain needle you know it doesn't jump
up actual people tuning in which is strange but what it does is it makes the next celebrity you
want comfortable to do it and you continue to grow and it just gives you the cachet you need
to build that strong brand last thing before we go into like a lady um is there a lot of
sisterly competition between you sisters and gg hadid and bella like do you guys have sister games
It would be so sad if grown-ass women felt threatened by, like, 17.
Do you know what I'm saying?
I think we're smarter than to be competitive with, like, two 19-year-old supermodels.
Here's the thing also.
I think, first of all, we're so much older than them, you know?
So even when our parents were married, we really liked those girls.
They're really sweet and they're really nice.
But there's, like, 10 or 12 years between us.
So it's not like you feel like you're in the same age group, you know?
and then obviously when they shot to fame so quickly it's like it blows your mind because
you don't they were like they're like little nice kind of innocent girls yeah they're like really
great girls we really like them obviously our parents have are divorced now but like and that
makes it hard obviously to stay close because everyone sides with their parents but like after
a couple years go by and things die down i don't think it'll be an issue but also like we're not
trying to be models we're trying to create something and so there's no we're not in the
same space as them where there isn't there's room for everybody and we're so happy that they're
having it's like the cheekbone gang like seriously between the four of you and your cheekbones i
would like one of those all right here's the like lady question of the week do you photoshop your
instagram photos and what is the part of yourself you always fix becca tobin oh god um my double
chin i've definitely fixed my double chin a little face tan yeah i'm not that good at it though so
sometimes it looks a little janky i know i'm gonna start sending you my photos to fix or like a fat
arm no one likes a fat arm well we all know that i got caught photoshopping that one picture
we had a picture of all of us together and my arm was smashed against my body so it looked like it
was like gigantic and i photoshopped the picture and i posted the one that was photoshopped and
it wasn't you gotta you gotta have better communication yes i know we didn't know
really let you down one of her super fans was like oh my god i see the photoshopped picture
it makes becca's boobs bigger though it did oh because when you pull one area the other
And then my boobs are like, I pulled my arm in and her boobs out.
I wish we'd pull my boobs out.
I know.
I like to Photoshop everything.
Really?
I don't know.
Listen, you guys, you got to be careful because you don't see how crazy you're making yourself
look, but other people can't.
Not you specifically, but I think Facetune makes you look crazy.
No, I've never Facetuned.
I Facetuned my neck before.
I have done that a couple times.
But I swear to God on everything, I do not Facetune my face.
You look like a mannequin.
Every human being has dimension.
You look older.
i think you look older i have done dark circles yep um and i've just smoothed them um and i once
uh blurred out a camel toe oh blurred camel toe is good um pimple is i think and a pimple is good
but i've never changed the shape of my body do you guys want to know the greatest instagram hack
that like this social media girl told me last week i'm going to give it to all the listeners
and you guys included on facetune you know there's whiten we can whiten your teeth yeah i never have
because i would i never have you there um okay so if you're somewhere and like it's maybe not a crisp
beautiful background you can take whiten and like whiten the chair and whiten the sky and
whiten the building so that everything looks like you're like fierce fresh like at a photo
shoot with like a white so it pops it's called burning and i don't mess with any of that but
i think filters do a lot i mean i like very rarely post no filter yeah hashtag no filter
i do hashtag all the filters and since and since we're so good at photoshop don't you guys want us
to fix your lives um when we come back uh sarah and erin are going to help you figure out your
life during ask the lady gang hashtag ask the lady gang um okay welcome back you guys before
we start if you guys want to get 20 off jack vanek.com use code lady gang and i brought you
guys those presents oh oh are these for us very exciting i love that sarah and i are genuinely
really into coffee mugs it's surprising she doesn't have one here with her coffee mugs too
yeah oh i thought you said first of all you can keep one of them sarah there's two of everything
oh okay that doesn't mean two for you what is your age difference day drinking that should go
for 18 months older 18 months wow don't read it out loud sarah i what are your astrological
i'm aquarius what are you i am leo virgo but i'm because it's like the day that switches right so
put me in different categories okay are you wait wait wait wait give us your analysis i would i
could totally guess the virgo in you interesting because i'm so witty and adorable yes is that
what virgos are i know nothing about this she's like you're masochistic and selfish you guys you
guys um you like to actually entertain like you like to like walk into a room and like hold court
a little bit i also could see myself being the person that like yelled at the executive in an
audition like do you like like you know like you just need an answer you need to like be able
to tell your calendar where it's going that was so out of character for me to do that i think that
just came from being so frustrated i'm three seconds away from doing that in my next audition
i was just asking just asking like i'm so yeah but you because you live in fears and actors you
think that you're not allowed to do or say anything oh and it's so such a good point that
is such a good point and the truth is when you're looking to cast somebody you're looking for
confidence yeah you're looking for the person that's going to come on to set and not be the
little like flower in the corner you're looking for someone so you gotta walk into a room you
can't like apologize that and i think i think it's always important to to come from a place of
i'm a professional this is what i do let's collaborate right how do you see this scene
going you know i think that that's important true but you don't want to then walk in with
that attitude and then really suck at acting right because i did you gotta back it up i mean
if i haven't got an audition in a very long time because we've been on our show for the last two
years but i had one like two weeks ago for this um seth mcfarland movie that's coming out and i
went there and i was kind of nervous because i just hadn't been on one forever but i also was
like whatever i have my own show like i don't need you so i it was 10 pages of dialogue and
this is a pre-read right like seth's not there right it's very early and i was like yeah i'm
not learning 10 pages of dialogue so i got in there and obviously you live in fear you wouldn't
usually do this but i was just feeling myself so i went in and i was like so are you expecting
everyone to do like all four scenes and she's like yeah and i go i only learned two because
it's like a lot of pages and she was and i'm busy yeah lady boss and she literally goes oh okay
that's fine we can just read the two you read i was like oh i just owned you that was amazing
i did not get a call back let's own let's own someone else's life yeah okay you guys kind of
have it figured out so you're gonna help us answer answer questions from our listeners
and give some advice and our first one comes from a boy listener we have like three boy so this is
amazing um okay it's from dylan and he says i had a question about dealing with my boyfriend's old
flames slash tinder matches dylan a boy i think so i think dylan could be a girl damn it oh right
right you just do you assume it's a boy because the name is dylan yeah well my name's jack so
that's stupid right dylan penn was on our show is your name not jacqueline jacqueline okay
anyways so let's help dylan girl or boy dylan all right she says um she or he
some of them still blind here i don't know they say some of them still follow him on social media
yet he has since unfollowed them on all sites i trust my boyfriend with all my heart but i still
get uncomfortable when i see these guys still liking his instagram posts but of course they're
only the ones that don't include me what do i do talk to my boyfriend should i be worried it is a
boy okay it's a boy becca sorry so the boy's boyfriend is like going on his old flames
instagram and commenting on the facebook and like but he says that he doesn't follow them anymore
no they're commenting on his he's just probably looking at his boyfriend's post and being like
why is mom while liking all your photos yeah yeah the boyfriends the exes are still following i feel
like you know in a relationship if you have that pit in your stomach where you have to worry about
things like this yeah and if you are worrying about something like that i'd say it's a bigger
issue where you just don't trust the person you're with 100 my exes still follow my fiance i don't
care who cares yeah your exes call your fiance uh his ex his exes yeah right because you're like
whatever are any of them as hot as you though hotter and i just sort of come from the place
if you want to be if you're if you want to be with one of them go be with one of them right
i'm not holding a gun to your head to be in this relationship like come on you can't micromanage
your partner you're gonna drive yourself crazy and you'll find something you don't want amen
That is a life of torture.
And if you're wanting to look at their phone and look at who they're liking and you're
already in the relationship, like three weeks in, I get it.
But like if you're in a relationship doing that, I think that's something you just need
to re-examine sort of what's been happening that makes you not trust them.
Should I be bummed though that my fiance follows a lot of models?
I went through recently.
I looked at the chicks he follows.
I'm like, this is like porn.
Some of these girls are like, is that okay?
That's another question.
Sorry, Dylan.
This is about me now.
I think it's okay.
Is that okay?
I like all porn.
i mean not porn but like a few like bikini instagram models is that okay to follow the
bikini ones because it's like he's not doing it in private he's not trying to hide it definitely
not trying to hide it right okay just let it yeah let him look at the booty or whatever right okay
okay our next question comes from d forgo and she says help who has the best boobs in hollywood i
need to give my plastic surgeon some references six years ago i lost 50 pounds and got into good
physical shape and have managed to keep the weight off good for you wow after much much
consideration i've decided to have a slight boob lift and small subtle implant to get my boobs back
to where they were or better than before oh well so i think the best boobs are always natural ones
although blake lively has a really good great job that's a really good boob job and then what about
the blurred lines girl are those real or fake those are real emily how do we know those are
real i know because um my husband worked on that music video and apparently like that you let him
do that oh he like commissioned it i can't even tell you well those are really good boobs they're
boobs i know what taylor swift's little baby boob job as much as like she has new boobs right yeah
no she has a baby boob job she didn't have any those little tears she got but they're new yeah
the last like month i've been noticing that she has bigger boobs yeah yeah they came like a is
this like a thing people are talking about yes okay so everyone knows that this happened i said
this to the other day i said because i'm in i vowed to stop reading the daily mail about five
months ago so i don't look anymore yeah so sometimes i hear like like like whispers of
gossip or on the explore page on instagram i'll see a thing and i'm like don't click don't click
don't click and and so i don't erin doesn't know anything she doesn't know what's happening in the
you don't know what's happening research though yeah but here's what happens is and i know we're
doing a game right now you can cut this if it's not interesting but i do think that going on the
daily mail is a black hole and i and what i realized is that i was spending like a lot of
time on there and it was making me feel like shit and i started to feel like like a housewife who's
watching like a soap opera in the middle of the day like it doesn't it like was like it was literally
robbing me of like joy in my life that's sadder and i was like i can't i gotta just cut off cold
turkey so i just stopped looking at her wow she also has a boyfriend now so let's okay she let's
also throw that before i met him okay i haven't looked for five months you're three months in
okay all right anyways our last question comes from ashley jack anyways
but she she's asking about a plastic surgeon oh oh oh okay so she wants like a doctor's name
no no she wants a reference of some blake lively blake lively taylor also i feel like do not bring
your doctor beautiful natural boobs bring your doctor really nice exactly i brought natural
ones and it didn't help me really yeah yours aren't no no I I did mine like two years ago
I thought you're like I did mine like I did them myself oh yeah no I but this is the way I feel
about if you're 18 and getting your boobs done like calm down honey yeah I breastfed my kid for
two years and had some real unfortunate looking were they like tea bags they were empty whatever
so so but you're you're that's a really good point is that you should not bring pictures of natural
breast it's impossible to replicate you need to bring pictures of done breasts and i think blake
lively that's a really good also bring people who have a similar body type like yes right because i
asked the picture that i brought where it was a picture of this woman and they were the most
perfect boobs that were definitely natural and they were really close together that's not my
anatomy my anatomy my boobs are very far apart so literally the doctor was like okay well i can give
you those. I'll have to break your ribs and, and, and, and do a fat transfer from your butt into
your chest. And that'll be $35,000. Like, yo dude, I just want some implants. Just give me some
implants. I don't want to do any of that other stuff. Yeah. You have to be like realistic with
what you're looking at. You have to be realistic with what you want. Correct. All right. So our
last question is anyways, she says as a career oriented woman, just like you all, I was wondering
what are your thoughts on changing your last name when you're married? Would you do it yourself
or do you have any friends that have found solutions for working women in love?
Listen, I am a little bit old-fashioned when it comes to this.
I think it makes a guy feel kind of bad about himself if you don't want his name.
I like the idea of, I mean, coming from someone that's been together for 10 years,
engaged and not married.
But I think it's nice.
Who has not taken his last name?
What's your fiancé's last name?
Haas.
Haas.
Sarah Haas.
No, I would, I mean, I think that there's also, if you're a known, not that I am,
But if you're like a known person or if your job is reflect, if people associate your name
with your job and it's a problem, I understand not wanting to change your name, but that's
like five people in the world.
Like this is just a normal person asking.
I think you should do it.
In the real world, you take your man's name.
Unless he has a shitty last name and then don't take his last name.
Even if he has a shitty last name, I think it's only going to create problems.
There's guys get insecure too.
Newsflash.
It's like emasculating.
Guys, it's emasculating.
It is.
I'm with that.
I agree.
I think it's a nice thing to do.
i don't think that it takes anything away from you but like i'm not trying to be like aaron weiner
so you know come to the table with a good last name and i'll consider it i took my husband's
last name because it made my name really fierce you're my first husband's first name my first
husband's last name was so tragic that then i had to go by what was it i will never say it because
i don't want people to google him um but then my manson i went by my i went by my middle name
kelty colleen because of my middle name and that was like very childish and then when i met chris
I was like, I kind of like you.
You're tall.
And your last name is Knight.
And I feel like Kelty Knight could really take over the world.
Knight is an amazing last name.
It's a great last name.
Kelty Knight is an amazing secret last name.
It's such a great last name.
Nighttime.
It does sound like one of those made-up names that you get on a bus.
Now, Becca, you seem to be engaged.
I am.
By the way, your ring is beautiful.
Thank you.
It is very beautiful.
What is your last name going to be soon?
Well, my professional name probably won't change.
Do you have a different professional name than your real name?
no so becca tobin is my given name and that's my like professional name and then his last name is
martin that's a good last name it's a good last name are you getting married to chris martin pretty
good um yeah no because congratulations thank you so much definitely take his last day definitely
take that and all the money speaking of chris martin if you want to go watch barely famous
on VH1.
