Hey guys, the following podcast is a Lady Gang Network and Podcast One production, which
means it's going to be awesome.
Well, what is this?
Welcome to the Lady Gang.
That's amazing.
Say that again.
The Lady Gang.
Things are about to change around here.
Each week, we catch up with Hollywood's hottest girl posse, Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and
Jack Vanek.
Hello.
Hi, ladies.
Hey, Becca, can you make your mic just a little closer?
to your mouth. Sometimes when I listen to my car
I want you to be louder. I was thinking that about
you in like two episodes ago.
You were? You were so quiet.
Do you think we just have a natural inclination
to not hear each other's voices at this point?
Yeah, probably. Where I was like, oh, I can barely hear that girl.
Wishful thinking. Who is that?
It's just a little tiny voice.
Alright, on that note, it's time for
Good Week.
Yes it is. Bad Week.
Oh no! Can I go first?
You may. I have such a good one.
Okay, so this week I
out keltied even kelty i'm scared it's not even me oh my god well first i'll give you my good week
so my good week is that for so long i've been wondering where did i come from am i an alien
how was i birthed into this world with all my special skills i'm too good for this world i'm
too good i'm too pure and then i was at dinner my dad's in town he's helping with my renovation
and he's on his phone and i was like what are you doing dad he's like oh i'm just looking at quotes
oh my god he's like i like to find a quote every day you're joking i know and i was like wait what
And he's like, yeah, I like to look at them and I think about them.
Oh, my God.
That's so cute.
He started reading me all the quotes he was reading.
And I was like, this is amazing.
Did they match up with yours?
They were very much along the same line.
He said, don't spend your todays thinking about yesterdays.
Dark.
So deep.
Anyway, so I love that.
That's where I came from.
Great.
What's your bad week?
Okay, bad week.
I'm on an email chain.
You know how I can get in trouble with my emails.
Yeah, you shouldn't be allowed to email.
I'm on an email chain with about 14 people about this shoot that I'm going to go on.
It's a big red carpet.
There's going to be multiple celebrities there.
And there's two people named Caroline on this.
One of the Carolines is someone I work with that's a producer.
And one of them is a personal publicist to a star.
Oh, God.
Now, I was skimming, so I didn't realize that both Carolines were on this email.
And so I get an email that says, hey, after the thing, you're going to go backstage and interview Celebrity X.
So I responded to the email to Caroline and said, sure, but he's a terrible interview.
No way.
I sent it to all 15 people and his personal publicist.
Hey, hey.
What was the feedback from that?
Nothing.
dead silence did not get him at the event shocker he is a terrible interview would not have helped
us at all constructive criticism a terrible interview like a wait would have been a waste
of time um didn't need to say that to their rep does she i'm sure the rep probably knows
yeah but does the rep pop be is she a publicist for other people that you want to get yes so
that's where it's damaged that's where it's shady yes yes oh well that's it whatever well that's not
surprising this is actually a very good segue to my bad week good someone said you were a terrible
interview no no one's interviewing me i recently went to an event and um there was a publicist
there of another actress and the publicist was such a bitch there were only like five of us
there you know what i mean she would not make eye contact with me she was such a bitch she was like
you know when someone's just giving you the vibe of like you're not important enough for me to
acknowledge or pay attention to yeah she was like that the entire evening and it was like
a real aha moment for me i think that next time i see her i'm gonna say something
have you had interactions with her like many no this was the first time and it was an it was
hours you knew who she was like a full day together oh and she and any like she was awful
like truly terrible and this actress who has her as a rep i'm like how do you not see that the
person representing you is the biggest dick on the planet it's like a dirty job those people have that
is a dirty job and i feel like nobody likes any of them no because they're all assholes they kiss
ass to their clients and then they treat everyone else like garbage or anybody that could get them
somewhere right they treat well yeah but then anybody below them they don't give and i also
feel like a lot of them are sabotaging their clients and they don't even know it well i listen
i know 30 great ones and i know 30 terrible ones but you think they're great because they have to
be great to you they have to be great to me so you don't know i don't know you don't know these 30
people would be a dick to us in a room okay so that was my bad week um at the same event the
girl like running the event like in front of my face was like no we don't need any more pictures
of becca no yeah yeah no swear to god in front of your face in front of my face so wait what do you
mean like you were going up for the photo moment or the red carpet and they were like it was like
a full yeah it was like this this whole i can't give too much information or like people will be
able to put it into context like where i was but it was like a full day of like things and i was
definitely the least famous person there and everything was happening candid photos there's
a lot of pictures happening and the photographer comes up and is like hey do you want me to get
this moment with becca and like like do you want me to do whatever yeah it's like no we have enough
pictures with becca you need to go get x and it x was a much more famous damn that shit is burn
that is so fucking burn especially when you get invited to something i'm like why did you invite
me right that's how i feel i'm like don't invite me then yeah if you don't need my pictures if you
invite me i'm coming overdressed ready to be photographed bitches okay it's true my good
week is very simple i got a new runner on my stairs it's a very good time because it was a
hideous hideous carpet i didn't mind it for real it looks ugly with the yellow walls no it's ugly
with the yellow walls but the whole combo the combo was hard horrible congrats thank you congrats
on you being expensive runners are rug is expensive man rugs are so expensive why why they're just
Fabric.
Because we're adults.
I hate it.
Jack, what's going on in your week?
Okay, so my good week is the Jack toilet paper scandal has been a long one, and I'm going
to end it here.
Oh, right now.
Right now, on a good week, because somebody was talking about it on our Facebook group,
and then one of our lady gangers was like, Jack, I own a toilet paper company.
It's called Bippy.
It is bamboo toilet paper.
Yeah.
And she sent me a bunch, and it's amazing.
And I just think it is the funniest thing in the world that somebody that's a Lady Gang listener owns a toilet paper company.
After all of that.
Now, did she have a study of, like, the average?
We make a roll of this many squares because, on average, we want it to last this long, and this is the square usage?
No, but she said you could use less squares for the same amount of absorbency as a regular toilet paper with the bamboo.
And it's super cute packaging.
Highly recommend.
And they have, like, a little butt spray.
So it's like a personal bidet.
I love a butt spray.
Yeah.
um her name was lisa wasn't lisa frank lisa frame so thank you thanks lisa um my bad week
is way to wipe our asses my bad week was i posted a picture recently and um you know people won't
stop commenting about my knees this time you've invited this in it was that there's a baby face
on my left knee and then a pit bull puppy on my right knee is there it kind of did look like there
was and I'm like listen I'm trying I don't face to my pictures anymore but if you want me to face
to my knees so I don't have faces in them I will no everybody has dimples in their knees and what
I say don't free the knee but all right when we come back we're gonna free the funny segment I
mean segue okay what's going on now here's the lady gang so this episode of lady gang is brought
to you by our favorite period underwear thinks and they are challenging us to rethink your period
i wish i never had to thinks about it at all i think the period is due for some rebranding it
really is yeah like period like in general that it sucks no just like the whole experience the
whole protocol it's time it's getting a facelift and things is helping they really are i love that
so basically we're gonna have a quick little conversation about what's normal during your
period because we've talked about the normalities of like life and sex and everything but like we've
never actually talked about our flows yeah like a deep other than that i know that yours is really
heavy i think sometimes you have to wear seven pairs i talk a lot about my flow but that's true
um and so we're so excited so here's my question how many days is your period um four to five
seven seven full red days or like are this their brown day in there i have like a like a it starts
off light for a half of a day two and a half heavy days and then it trickles down but like i need to
be wearing something for seven days that is a long time that is so long then got worse it's like 24
hours at this point maybe 48 hours yeah mine's pretty short why is that i've always had a short
period yeah genetics yeah like i get cramps like i have a light crampy horrible like feeling gross
but not bleeding and then a one like crazy like bleeding down my leg day and then like two days
of brown that's sort of how i go must be nice um do you have sex on your period yes do i need to
elaborate no it's just it's nice and slippery just put a towel down you're good to go not on
not not on my first day because i'm too crampy and too pressurey it hurts but the other days are
fine okay okay i do not i do not either i would but i just don't that's like like i'm not morally
against it i'm not i like i'm not against it but i'm not like the three days like right before i
get my period chris is always like oh you're about to get your period because that's when i get randy
randy how are you like an 80 year old guy
um okay scale of one to ten how bad are your period cramps
two one to two eight and a half you have a copper iud right i used to okay when i had the copper iud
they were like a 12 yeah but you have nothing now i don't have anything wow with the copper iud my
period was like three weeks long i didn't bleed for one week out of the month which is why i used
my things underwear all the time back in the day well this is it what's your favorite style
um well so i wear the things usually to bed yeah me too because i don't like wearing a tampon or
anything when i'm sleeping so they're like a good thing to wear when i'm sleeping yeah so i wasn't
really a believer because i just you have such a light period i have a light period um and i thought
i'd be uncomfortable in something like that and i would thought it would feel like a diaper but i'm
really into it it really doesn't feel like anything yeah that's the thing that's kind of
crazy is like in the concept of it sounds like it would be like a diaper and it's really not
my sister actually recently reached out to me and she was like you know those things underwear are
genius for women who've just had babies also because after you have a baby there's a lot
coming out there's a lot of fluids fluids and leakage and instead of wearing those hideous
diapers that they give you for adults at the hospital this is like a chic way for women to
like still feel like pretty and feminine and like not like their vagina just fell out between
their legs.
Also a good time to wear it, like the thong one, the light one, is if you're ovulating
and you have a big ovulation situation.
True.
The yogurt.
The yogurt.
The five.
The egg whites.
Yeah, egg whites.
Egg white.
I like the boy shorts.
I like the boy shorts too.
Because it's comfy.
I just got the purple, which made me feel less like Chris can tell when I'm wearing
my period underwear.
Because like I have them all in black.
I am all in black, too.
Yeah.
And, like, then I got the deep purple, and I wasn't sure about it, but now I'm into it.
Okay, last thing.
When did you get your period, and what do you remember from that, like, moment?
I got my period when I was 15 or 16.
And the thing that I remember is when I used a tampon for the first time, and it got stuck,
and I had to go to the emergency room to get it taken out.
Oh, my God.
The first time?
Yeah.
And it was a light.
It was, like, the tiniest little mini light tampon, and I just must have, there must have
not been enough going on to absorb and so it was dry and i probably didn't know that you could like
yeah get it out yourself yeah um that's actually also a good idea for younger girls wearing them
so you don't have to yeah because the pad is embarrassing like you could be huge and
uncomfortable and poofy the next thing well they already have them but like do you remember when
we were dancers when we were young and you couldn't like you weren't wearing tampons yet
and you'd like go to ballet class and you'd have like a pad in your ballet tights yeah you didn't
go i always wore tampons you did always i tried a tampon before i ever even got my period no you
did not how did you get it out i mean i barely got it in i mean okay i was just very curious
um okay uh do you remember when you got i think i was 13 um but i don't remember much about it
it just it was it happened and it was over you know so chill my sister had a really traumatic
experience she got it when my mom was out of town and she's the older one so there was no one no one
except my dad my poor dad had to deal with it no oh my god it's like that episode of curb your
enthusiasm when larry had to help the girl with the tampon yes it's exactly and he was showing
how to use it so good yeah oh my god well i feel closer to you guys now i do too we love things
yeah we want to thank you for supporting the podcast for many years now and we love that

why we have a deal for you to get $10 off your first pair head on over to periodbetter.com and
use our code lady gang that's periodbetter.com and use our code lady gang thanks thanks thank you
thanks now back to the lady gang our guest is an actress and comedian who has appeared in the
kaminsky kaminsky method i don't know i can't talk young sheldon big little eyes modern family
and Grace and Frankie, you know, you've heard of those little shows, just little nothing
shows, working alongside some of the biggest names in Hollywood, she actually earned herself
a Golden Globe and has been nominated.
Kind of.
Well, we'll talk about that.
Nominated for both a Critics' Choice Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
But it wasn't always this glamorous.
After graduating college, she moved to Atlanta and helped build the World Improv Theater
where she acted and taught, perfecting her craft.
Please welcome to the podcast, a funny lady we love, Sarah Baker.
Thank you so much.
I want to talk about that Golden Globe.
Yeah.
You made me sound very fancy.
You are fancy.
This is what Kelty does.
I'm a comedian.
Comedian.
I'm sorry.
I didn't know what that meant.
Yeah.
Because doesn't Melissa McCarthy say, like, I'm a comedian?
I don't know.
I don't know either.
She probably doesn't.
Knowing her, she probably doesn't.
She probably is like, go fuck yourself.
She's not like, I'm a comedian.
It sounds pretty pretentious.
She's like, I'm a mom.
Yeah.
She's like, cool.
Okay.
About the Golden Globe.
Oh, yeah.
So it's a cast, Golden Globe.
Right.
What was it?
Like, Best Comedy or whatever, right?
Best Comedy, yeah.
What show was it for?
which was very funny
this was like
two years ago
this was
not this past
it was this year
was it
yeah
oh so dreamy
anyway
so when the cast
wins a best comedy
do you all get a globe
to take home
no we do not
that's f***ed up
because I am a group
Emmy award winner
yeah
so for Entertainment Tonight
I didn't know that
Entertainment Tonight
you win best news show
right
and then everyone
that's listed like
I mean the list
it's like cutthroat
to get on the list
yeah
but like the hosts
were on the list
but like then there's
like producer
or whatever, but we actually get a reel
at home. It's f***ed up.
The Globes don't do that. Wait, so how many, like
what part of it, because part of the cast obviously
has to get one, right? No, I think they just get one.
Only the producers, I think. One? Yeah, I think
they're dicks about it. Are they just cheap-ass foreign
press? They could be. I don't know. I know that
I thought it was just like the producers get
it. So like Chuck gets it.
Maybe Michael, Al,
Higgins. I don't know.
You're like, but without us, the show
doesn't exist. But do you get to say
like, this was hard for me when I was
putting this together because i will not walk in a room unless someone says emmy award winning
kelsey knight so now that you're part of it like i feel like golden globe winning actress sarah
baker should be there or are you too cool for that i feel i just feel like it's it's false it's a
false a false intrude not on your part you i have one that's true i do not have one what do you jack
let's let you decide well i feel like she just doesn't care as much as you do so she's actually
talented and has actually had a great career and doesn't have to fake it no i have like imposter
syndrome so i feel like people are already like do you really and i'd immediately crumble no i don't
you're right i don't i never will i don't deserve it i'm a loser exactly um i want to know so you've
been basically on every show that exists that's popular is it you are you the secret sauce to
hollywood i never thought of it that way absolutely not you know like young sheldon it's you modern
family i've got to say young young sheldon is my airplane tv show i love it so much for a flight
because it's easy to watch very easy to take in you're so strange it's vq um okay i i'm the
saddest woman ever on that show too by the way i'm like this really sad librarian that's always
like someday i'll get married you're like maybe i'll die first who's to say about me um do you
ever feel typecast because you're funny um i feel like i've gotten to play like kind of a lot of
different characters but i mean there was like a phase where i played literally like five nurses
in a row and i was like okay and then you're starting to be like i mean in a way it's like
well who cares but then on the other hand i was like i don't only want to be a nurse why am i
such a nurse what does that mean what does it mean i don't know but your agents are probably
like there's a nurse audition like she's gone you have a face that could cure a disease i know i
think it's like being like old enough like not being like 22 so i could be a nurse but being
like sort of a nebulous age and just that i think it's like an every woman quality maybe but it's a
good job to have nurse because you're wearing a comfortable clothes that's when you're acting
you're there for like 20 hours a day you're wearing a sneaker so you're not it's not a
comfortable sneaker nobody's mad at you it's not a sexy nurse outfit it's a scrub it's a scrub
i think one time i did play like a nurse like in the front like that yeah exactly so i had to have
like a little hat and they actually had like period bras and stuff which were horrible they
were like pointy bras oh and they have no stretch that was the weirdest thing you put it on your
yeah they didn't they just didn't have stretch back then they didn't invent that
the wheel and then stretch it was literally like oxford shirt cloth material that's
we all have one pair of underwear that's been through like the dryer too many times and you
put it on you're like where's the stretch like you berated it out yeah it's all gone it's just
back to the days um what show i'm really gonna put you on the spot what show is better big bang
or Modern Family?
Wow.
That's a loaded question.
Do you want to answer, Jack?
I personally like Modern Family better.
But I also loved Young Sheldon, so that's
kind of... That's actually not
Big Bang. But Young Sheldon is a Big Bang
offshoot. You know what? I'll say
I watch more
single camera shows, so I tend
to watch shows like Modern Family more than
multi-cam shows like Big Bang Theory.
So I probably have
watched Modern Family more.
but they're both very enjoyable now would you like to explain to the regular gals of the world
the difference between a multi-cam and a single cam because i literally just learned this oh yeah
i'm just assuming but you knew what it was i'm assuming what it is the name for it i mean your
eyes knew the difference between like a show with a live audience that's on like a flat stage do we
know i think so are all shows with live audiences multi-cam do they have to be yeah pretty much the
only show that well there was a like how i met your mother was like a weird hybrid show where
they shot it like a multicam on a stage but they didn't use an audience but other than that like
i mean basically all the older shows were all multicams like i love lucy invented like how
many cams is a multi like six i don't know that's a good question i think it's like three i'm always
like multi like what is that how many multi are we like we have 500 cameras multi and then single
cam there's no way it's just one camera no there's not exactly so this is a very confusing thing you
knew the difference you just didn't know the name for it and the name actually yeah it's not very
descriptive so multi-cam is like if we're sitting here there's a camera on kelty when she talks
there's a camera on sarah when she talks but also like say that's the yeah where this is the stage
The cameras don't come onto the furniture and the set.
So they let you have your whole experience on the outside.
So that's why, like, on Big Bang Theory, there's never any close-up.
They're never closer than, like, raised up or something because of the way they're shooting.
You can't come in.
Yeah.
But on Modern Family, you're right in there.
And Sarah, you can't even get Sarah Hyland.
Both of her giant eyes.
You can't get them in the frame because they're so beautiful and big.
Yeah.
Okay.
Interesting.
I learned something today.
um chuck laurie is a big producer creator of shows and he can create anything and then usually
people win the awards and he wins the awards what's it like working with him and being like
welcomed into like chuck's club it was really cool i mean i feel like it's really nerve-wracking
initially just because you know how many different and different kinds of shows that he's done
but i did like an episode of mike and molly you know whenever several years ago and i think i met
him like for one second afterwards and he was like very funny or something and i was like thanks
and then somebody was like that's your glory i was like oh i'm glad i didn't know um but but yeah
but then for this show it was weird like i went in and auditioned for um for young sheldon first
for like a librarian but it was like a last minute casting thing so they only brought in like eight
women or something hot that's my favorite i know it's so nice so like i mean i've been to one acting
auditions like i don't really know the one that you sent your thing in yeah i didn't it was i sent
it in anyways it was a way to get a video in it was on tape i put myself on yeah you did yeah
and she did it wrong yeah i did she showed like her whole body well i did it on the green screen
at et i was playing like a reporter real cameras i had like a real camera yeah that's what i thought
i had them do me like knee up i was in my cute little dress and i did my lines and then becca
was like no when you're an actress like you only shoot this far up but i was like well aren't they
gonna see my whole body no they want they need to see this beautiful figure so you're saying
living room with like a iphone camera so you're saying that my acting was so bad yes like it
didn't matter the shot they were like get this girl out you didn't get the part no then it was
because you shut your knees then we're going back to that yeah because obviously your acting
was terrible.
It is hard to act like a news reporter
when you are a news reporter.
Because you're like, the lines, whoever writes
the news reporter lines, they have no
fucking idea what you're doing.
You would never ask it like this.
No, it wasn't a news reporter's
Instagram influencer, which I have no idea
what that is. So you're right.
You know what? I wasn't meant for that part. This isn't about me.
This is about Sarah Baker.
Okay. I want to know a great Hollywood story
of when you were really close to getting a job
and you really wanted it and then you didn't.
because life is disappointing for our women
and we want to make them feel
we resonate with failure
I mean I've had many
as most actors I think have
like were you supposed to be Supergirl
I haven't had anything like that where I'm like
and I would have made 12 million dollars
I haven't had quite that
like the girl that was like it was between me
or Jennifer Aniston on Friends
there was somebody I think who was on
that pilot
they got kicked off right
it makes me stomach ache honestly
think about but i've been fired twice oh wait no i've been fired once and not hired even though i
like went very far so my first thing was like there was a show called kath and kim it's not
as exciting i love don't say that no because she didn't make it no it's australian no but they did
an american version here for like failure a year oh and it bombed big bomb because they have you
the australian one's incredible yes that's what i've heard yeah um so i auditioned for this really
weird character-y part
that was like this short-haired
weird woman who takes care of animals, so she's
always bitten and scratched
and all that.
I would have been the best friend character
of Selma Blair's character.
It was him, I guess.
But anyway, I
kept going further and further. The director
was super nice. The producer, they were like,
they didn't like me initially, and then they were like,
oh, we're going to write a new scene
for you. We're going to do a chemistry
read. I kept being more
more and more and you're like kath and kim it's me i'm kath and then hey it's my shannon um and
then who and they're right now exactly and they were like um no ultimately no and then it but
then what was kind of gratifying was that they never did cast anybody they just like eliminated
the part yeah and then they kind of you were so good that they were like you know what we don't
need this part at all yeah yeah that's what happened totally right it's fucking awful and
melissa rouch yeah who is in big bang theory she um i always i'm like is it rauk or i don't i still
don't know i think yeah she um played kind of a part that was like a different version character
okay and then i also did like that's one person i look at i'm like there was a time when we were
like we were both on the same episode of like the office together i'm like bye she became like
a millionaire superstar but she's really funny so she deserves it and then wait when were you
fired oh and then i was on the um pilot of the odd couple like a reboot of the odd couple with
matthew perry yeah and um my god tom lennon and matthew perry and i had done the show go on
together right so he like wrote this part for me as like his assistant or whatever yeah and but i
think it was one of those things where nobody else got a say he just said like you know this is the
person yeah um so we did the pilot everything went fine like usually on that's the other thing on
multicams is you have days like where you practice you rehearse so you kind of can tell if it's like
going poorly and they're like no one's laughing your jokes or whatever but it went fine it was
scraped taped it done and then it got picked up and like people are like calling me oh my god your
show got picked up i was like oh and then all of a sudden like matthew texted me like
hey have you talked to your agents or something and i was like oh no why you're like i just bought
a gucci bag bitch we're picked up i'm like in my ferrari he was like um he was like uh just call me
later and i was like oh no that's like when a boyfriend's like can we talk later like no so
Oh, yeah.
So they, yeah, they just fired me.
Did they replace you?
Yeah.
With a really funny, good person.
Okay.
Yvette Nicole Brown, who's good, you know, from like community.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
She is good.
Yeah.
So, you know, I was, it was fine.
I ended up doing like a Christopher Guest movie, which I'm like, I would have never done that.
So, you know.
It's pretty dope.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It all sort of.
We always say.
It doesn't feel good at the moment.
Yeah.
Man's rejection is God's protection.
Yeah.
Boom.
Boom.
Okay.
Now, with Kaminsky Method and your cast Golden Globe, which we need you to get one, I wanted to just go back to that for a second because I actually am in the presence of a Golden Globe.
I have a Golden Globe at my house.
I did not win it, but I have an extra.
Add one dead woman.
I have an extra Golden Globe.
Kelty would murder somebody to take their trophy, I have to say.
so rude and so correct from a card game yeah i won it in a card game what whose can you say
i can't say where it originated i do know the origin story well it has a name on it presumably
no there's no name oh yeah and oh it's a free gold then you can put your name well now we use
the golden i'm probably gonna get in trouble for this we use the golden globe for my card circle
so like whoever we have like i have a canasta like group of people you'd love canasta no i don't know
how to play but i love that you play canasta because i love i'm well i'm like a 95 year old
anyway so we play canasta and whoever wins the championship gets to have the golden globe like
as they're true that's amazing yeah so anyway but if you want you deserve it all of a sudden just
like i'm like person from the foreign press comes in it's like anyway um yeah you're working with
alan and michael douglas like that is bonkers scary town yeah it's very scary how do you keep
it together i mean were you intimidated or were you just like yeah can you imagine i'm like whatever
sorry i have to take this um yeah no super intimidated i feel like as an actress you
get put in that position a lot where you're like i mean you meet crazy famous people all the time
where you're but you're like i'm here to do my job so you just kind of have to feel like
i can't get too wrapped up and but i mean like i remember the first time like i i was in this
the campaign and it was with will ferrell and i was like i've watched him for years yeah yeah and
so your your brain is going like oh my god just watch and laugh this funny person then you have
to be like no dummy you're in the scene also this isn't just like fun time you have to like pay
attention and give him something back yeah and i felt the same way like it's always good i feel
like the table read sometimes like you meet the person usually and it kind of like settles things
out yeah but i will say like when the table read started and both michael and alan have really
you might not think of it but really like recognizable sort of iconic voices so when
they started talking i was all of a sudden like i was like oh my god that's really that's really
them and i'm here this is weird but but then i feel like by the time we shot i mean i was still
nervous and i tried to like over prepare did you do the um beta blocker beta blocker no oh
Jennifer Aniston was just interviewed about beta blockers.
Yeah, she was just interviewed and she was like getting some award or some premiere and
they're like, how are you feeling?
And she's like, well, I forgot my beta blocker and now I'm in like a whole tizzy about how
to get it to me from home.
That's what she said on the carpet.
Cause you can.
It's a lifesaver.
It blocks your adrenaline.
So like if you're nervous or you get stage fright or anything, auditions, it's game changer.
It's like in your mind, you're thinking I'm supposed to be nervous right now and I am,
but my body physically is not – there's no signs of nerves.
And you don't feel weird or detached or anything.
No, it's not like a Xanax where you're kind of like a zombie.
Yeah.
It really just makes it so that you don't have any of the physical –
you're not sweating, you're not talking extra fast.
And sometimes that will make you more nervous as you're, like, in an audition
if you're, like, having a little bit of a shake or whatever.
Oh, God, that's the worst when you see your hands shaking.
So when you're, like –
You're, like, I'm playing it off, right?
I'm so cool.
But then if you let, yeah, it's changed my life.
Do you have to have a prescription for this thing?
Yeah, but it's easy to get.
Okay.
You're like, you're in all of you.
I just want to say that you are so good in the Kaminsky method.
Thank you.
It is, I can't imagine how intimidating that would be, but like you are holding your own
and then some.
Thank you so much.
That's so nice.
Your scenes with Michael, they're really good.
Thank you.
That's really nice.
yeah it it's crazy because most of my scenes especially the first season was like just the
two of us yeah and it is like i'd be so nervous i i mean i definitely get nervous and there was
i think the very first scene we ever did he's like coming into the bathroom i'm like plunging
a toilet or something and he comes in and i like went behind the door and i was like
i don't know what the first thing i say is and i kind of had that moment and he opened the door
And I was like, I'm so sorry.
Can we just take it back?
But then sometimes I feel like I'm in such a hurry to be like, no, no, I'm sorry.
Let's go again.
But then it's like, but you need to figure out now in this moment what it is you actually say.
Oh, my God.
My whole life is me being like, no, no, no, once again.
And then I still haven't decided what I'm going to say in my head.
I'm like, take a moment.
I know.
Okay.
We're going to take a moment.
We're taking a moment.
And play a game.
I've created a new game in the first time in Lady Gang history.
we've never played it before it's called cuddle collab or crucify oh wow here's the great thing
sarah this is all based on shows you've been in okay so we'll start with what we just talked
about okay the choices are alan arkham michael douglas and lisa edelstein edelstein edelstein
yeah what are the cuddle collab crucify it's basically a merry kill but it's cuddle collab
crucify so awkward okay i'm gonna have to say that yeah be careful that i'm gonna
kill lisa because she'll forgive me okay um and she's lived a very interesting life so she's
great woman she's great yeah she has a great husband she's happy lived a good life um yeah
you've had a good run and now i'm gonna murder you um and then i'm gonna say collab with michael
because I feel it would be so awkward to cuddle with Michael.
And Alan, I am kind of in love with.
Oh, yeah.
In a platonic way, but borderline, very borderline.
So I'm going to say cuddle with Alan.
Okay.
The next one's for you, Becca.
Are you ready?
Yeah.
It is based on Big Little Lies.
Okay.
Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern.
Whoa.
Easy.
Oh.
Kill Reese.
Not crucify.
Just kill.
Okay.
Bye-bye.
collab with
Nicole and cuddle
with Laura Dern.
Interesting. I like it.
In a Jurassic Park costume. Wait, who are you sleeping with?
Nicole Kidman? Cuddling.
No, I'm cuddling with Laura Dern.
And I'm collabing with
Nicole Kidman because
her performance in Big Little Lies is
insane. Next level.
So good. Next level.
Next level. Jack,
this is perfect for you. I'm going to know who these people
are. Yes. You know I don't know anything.
i love it i already told her okay this is from the movie the campaign will farrell see it okay
oh my god but you're gonna know these people she works with huge stars okay will farrell
zach galifianakis you know him yes jason sudeikis oh from snl you know him i know i know all these
people actually oh this is hard this is hard you definitely want to collab with will that's all
i'm gonna say will was mean to me once at a party i can see really that's so funny people i have to
be honest but he's he's known as one of the nicest yeah like nice and i'm not saying nobody you know
i was having a bad day i'm super annoying she is first of all at parties in general
and are you sure he wasn't doing a bit with you no there was no bit he he was just maybe having
an off day i find sometimes funny people are not nice in real life yeah but a lot of funny people
aren't he's the one exception that every single person in comedy says he's really nice usually
yeah wait what happened can you tell me the circumstance well i was at an after party it
was i was doing a show and i was a big after party that was like a big celebration at the hotel where
the thing was or whatever and like we all went and it was like all of us stars were together you know
were you trying to like get some no we were just like we were stars on the red carpet beside each
other like hanging like you were interviewing him no i wasn't an interviewer yet i was still
professional dancer so he like was at the opening night of our show and then it was like the vip
area where we all hang out together star to star did you just try to go up and talk to him yeah
tell him did you say star to star multiple times so anyway star to star what are you drinking right
now he probably thought you were like a stalker it wasn't even me it was alex dalion what do you
mean alex was a big fan he was at the party i was like just go talk to him he's so supposed to be so
cool and then he went to go talk to him not cool so he wasn't rude to you also another not but i
was with alex so he was rude to us and by rude what do you mean just not wanting to be your best
friend did not want to be my friend how many people have you been cold to my whole life but
no one says i'm nice everyone says i'm a bitch it's true it's true i will not leave here saying
you're a bitch yeah not yet we're only halfway done sarah okay okay i'm i'm collabing with will
Farrell, just by
default in height, I know
that Jason Sudeikis has got
to be taller than Zach Galifianakis. Jason is
extremely tall, actually. So
f***ing him or whatever. No, it's cuddling
with him. No one said
anything about f***ing him. You're going to crucify
Zach Galifianakis? I don't want to, but that's a hard choice.
Yeah. It's a bad one.
I don't want to cuddle with Zach Galifianakis.
I do. You do?
I get it. Not me. He's super cuddly.
Not me. Not me. Watching him?
He would be rude to you at a party, though.
Yeah, I can see that.
Not rude.
He's a lovely person, but he gets uncomfortable if people are, like, too nice.
Really?
Yeah, he's probably just over it.
It's so hard.
But one of the funniest things I've ever seen, can I tell you quickly?
We were in New Orleans doing the campaign.
We'd gone out this one night.
So it's Jason, Sudeikis, Zach, myself, my boyfriend, and, like, a couple other people.
And this guy came up and spotted Jason because he's super tall.
Yeah.
And was like, can I get my picture with you, whatever?
and they're like, yeah, yeah. And so Zach
takes the picture. And Zach's already been in The Hangover.
He's like super famous. So he takes
the picture for him. And while he's taking the picture
you see the guy's face go like, oh shit, oh no
that's Zach. But he was like too late. He couldn't
like switch gears. So he had to just
like live with it. He was like, damn it.
That's amazing.
And Zach loved
it of course. He loved it so much.
Zach on Letterman's show
My Next Guest.
Oh, I don't think I've seen that.
It's so good. You've seen every
where do you get this time that's a really good show it's such a good the howard stern one
oh yeah the howard like lady okay last one before we go so yeah it's almost as good as
almost okay last one is modern family sophia jesse tyler ferguson sarah highland it's for you
oh god um i don't know okay um um oh god i'm gonna say crucify them all oh god i'm gonna
crucify sarah only because i never met her and i don't know her at all and then i'm gonna say
collab with jesse and then you should collab with sophia she's the highest woman on television paid
you probably get paid a lot okay i just figured like everybody would want to cuddle with her so
why not take the opportunity but maybe you're right okay i'll collab with her and i'll cuddle
with jesse yes well it feels disappointing yeah it feels like any combo isn't quite right
yeah it was a hard one yeah lucky you're here at the lady gang now all right when we come back
sarah's gonna fix your life you're listening to the lady gang all right we're back so this part
is asked lady gang we have our listeners writing us questions and we give them pretty uh questionable
advice as long as it's questionable advice it's always questionable yeah okay first question
comes from nosy nelly she says i have a co-worker who is a very kind person but she smells badly
how do i tell her she smells without hurting her feelings i have to breathe through my mouth when
i'm with her that's so right now something is happening with my natural deodorant yeah it
doesn't work something is happening with my deodorant as well do you use natural deodorant
i don't i use normal deodorant but my friend told me you have to only put it on when you're
clean. And if you do what I do
and be disgusting and don't shower
and then put it on, she's like bacterial
and it won't work.
I mean, you can't see it. It's not moldy or anything.
I mean, yeah, like microscopic.
In your pit.
Now all of a sudden I'm like, I think I'm okay
but I don't know. Yeah, I like
leaned over to get my ID to pull into
the security gate and I was like, what is that smell
in my shirt? It's me.
It's on my body. It's disgusting.
How do you tell?
That is, it's the same thing like telling somebody
they have bad breath it's so bad i worked at a theater company once and this one person had
bad bo and it was so beautiful the way he did it the director of our company knew and he like sat
everybody down we had had rehearsal and he was like oh and just a couple of announcements announced
like oh somebody's birthday whatever and he was like oh and i just want to let you know i mean i
know we get we all get really hot when we're doing the shows and we've had he just lied he's like
We've had a couple of patrons complain that there's been some body odor on some of you.
So just remember, like, I always have deodorant and he didn't, like, make it about that person.
He addressed it to everybody.
And, of course, everybody knew who he was talking about.
Well, probably some people maybe didn't know.
But everybody, I mean, myself included, is, like, only making eye contact with our director.
And, like, going, oh, okay, thanks.
Okay.
You know, like, trying to sell it.
Ooh, I will bring my deodorant.
Thanks for the reminder.
That's so sad.
Because I don't know how you do it otherwise.
And sometimes it's like a medical thing.
Like, it's hard.
And sometimes I think there are people that I know that I'm like, I know they shower,
but boys that don't wash their clothes enough.
Oh, yeah.
Or they have like a rank jacket or something.
Ball sweat seeping into their jeans.
The jeans that haven't been washed in two years.
Ball jeans.
So we don't have anything else.
And like jackets that they just sweat through.
And they're like, it's a jacket.
You don't wash it ever, you know.
But it's got your body.
You smell like shit.
I think, is there...
Send an anonymous note with just the little cutout letters from the headlines that looks
like a real killer.
But then does that make her paranoid that it's, like, then you put her in a position
where she doesn't know who sent it and then she's thinking everybody.
Oh.
I think it's actually okay.
Maybe do a joke.
Like, ha ha ha, you smell.
No.
Yep, and now Kelty's a bitch.
You're such a...
Be like, what's that smell?
Oh my God, it's Jack.
To her face.
I think here's what you do.
You lie and you say, you know, at my last job, I had someone confront me because I had an issue with body odor.
I was using a natural deodorant and I wasn't doing the trick and my nose just sort of became used to it.
And a friend of mine was like, one day, I think you need to switch up your deodorant.
And I think that I'm in a position now, I need to tell you the same thing.
That's so nice.
And just be like, I really appreciated it.
I was really embarrassed at the moment.
but like that's actually like a woman's way of doing that's how you got to do it okay good luck
and just be like maybe you stink yeah it's so hard though okay some people might be wearing
deodorant it might be like but you can just make it like but then you're but then it's like she can
that's a problem troubleshoot what's going on yes but she can at least be like but it's also just
between you two then it doesn't feel like oh maybe everybody like you said everybody thinks this yeah
and if she asks if other people have mentioned it you say no right you say no i'm in closer
quarters no i have the same problem so i'm i notice things like yes i have a very sensitive
palate and you can say like maybe it's your maybe it's like you're not you're maybe it's your your
fish that you're warming up in the microwave don't do that people that make fish for lunch
no people at work no fish no eggs that micro wave cannot have those things i know that wasn't a
question but i'm just doing a psa next question comes from anonymous i started dating a new guy
who is much shorter than my ex-boyfriend and it has definitely been an adjustment for me
i know it sounds silly but i never thought height would play such a role in the little things like
cuddling hand-holding dancing and pretty much just standing next to each other dancing um he's a
great catch i just wish the stupid height thing didn't bother me so much and i could just move
past it and have a normal relationship oh my god could i just be used to taller men given my last
boyfriend and eventually move on for reference my ex was six one and my new man is five six
i'm five one he's five inches taller than her anonymous anonymous you're a bitch are you
perfect are you perfection are do you look like heidi klum are you allowed to be this picky
also he's five inches taller than her it's like she's towering over him i think she'll i think
she just needs to get used to get used to it over it nope i'll tell you unless there's something
else underlying that actually is
bothering her and that's the excuse
how is hand holding
getting in the way of their height
well that's a whole different problem
that's like a really creepy problem
probably means another problem
he's got a little Johnny Depp
no I'm Johnny Depp with my tiny hand
I just feel like you're 5'1
and as a fellow short person
would you date someone who's 5'6
yes no you wouldn't
are you 5'1 you're shorter than that
I'm 5'3
so would you date somebody that was five nine yes i've dated someone who's five nine for a long time
and like there's just something about when you see a short man out but he's not short compared
to her not compared to her but compared to the world you are a dick shouldn't i be the one that's
like doing the right thing yes i had a guy once say to a mutual friend that i was too short for
him to date he's now engaged to a supermodel oh but it was a thing for him he was really
caught up with it yeah like he couldn't get past it and i'm like you bro like yeah i'm a great time
in the sack i bet she's a boring starfish i mean then i was really exciting now i'm also a starfish
doesn't matter but like i think it's really to discriminate on height i think is a really
shallow thing and i think you need to look inward great because what if he gets in an accident the
6'1 guy. And then he's in a wheelchair. Then he's much
shorter. Are you going to leave him then?
Wow. I just took a turn.
I wasn't sure where I was going.
Are you frozen too?
Am I frozen?
No, but it's true.
I'm short. I'm obviously
projecting right now.
You do you. I think that
there's something more to it. I agree with Sarah.
Next question. Okay. Last question also
comes from Anonymous. I've been dating this
guy for a couple months now. He's great caring
and really respectful to respectful oh god even in bed which leads me to my question touch your
breasts oh gross oh my god may i move my hand down i hate a respectful man no in bed it's bad
oh how can i get him to be a little bit or a lot a bit rougher in bed anytime we do something
quote-unquote different he'll stop rearrange and tell me to tell me to take it quote easy on my
we've had this question are you sure we've never had this question i don't remember this question
thousand percent haven't had it guaranteed listeners tell us okay well it's not that
i'm super kinky but i'm just over vanilla sex it's not even fun anymore sarah do you have any
advice i think you have to talk about it when you're not in the midst of something because
then it's already such a turnoff but if you have a conversation separately because i think a
conversation during maybe for some people it's great but i think for most people it's just no
too awkward and it's weird and guys brains don't work while they're trying to have sex
yeah it's like useless to have a conversation right amidst that you have to role play you
have to be like guess what we're playing a game called assertive alan and you sound sexy
yes assertive or whatever you know what i mean assertive i definitely think assertive
it's just like oh i'm gonna boom throw you over boom legs up boom legs down boom penis in
i know is it is it he's trying to be he's trying to be nice to her he's like yeah just like it
uptight like she starts getting like riled up and he's like whoa whoa whoa heart rate
get him but here's the thing maybe he just doesn't like maybe he's like a missionary
only lights on kind of guy yeah and that's just his thing getting drunk yeah i think so yeah also
this is where i think sexting comes in handy like never no if you especially this guy is it her
boyfriend yes he's so nice and respectful well i don't know i feel like it's you if you're nervous
that's a weird conversation to have with anybody i think and it's maybe you're gonna just do it on
a text send an anonymous note i don't know i pull her aside i think if you're sexting you can like
kind of like say weird shit i don't know no i know what you mean like just put more of some
kind of a buffer up so that like i get it it's not where you're like sitting down on the couch
being like we need to talk i want you to stick it in my ass like maybe like leading up to him
with a whip yes right oh saturday is upon us he's like did you give me a horse
wait yeah i yeah that old house that i moved into everything was cleared out we were moving
in and there was like a is it a crop a crop that was at the top shelf on the closet and i just had
to convince myself a million times that she must have loved horses that was the only thing left
That was it.
That's a message.
That's like a weird, creepy message.
Did you keep it?
You kept it.
You used it.
No, I barely touched it and had to put it in.
No, because what?
God knows what.
Yeah.
That has weird stuff on it.
Yes, exactly.
Her vagina has been slapped by that.
Yes.
Ew.
It probably sounded like that.
Sarah, congratulations on your success.
Thank you.
Sorry you landed you here.
Sorry you landed you here.
Thanks for having me.
Definitely fire your publicist.
Okay.
also this is very difficult but actually easy to remember your instagram oh yeah so are you
saying barra sakers yeah sure barra sakers i just because there's a million sarah bakers in the
world so you have to do something weird so i just switched my first letters but then i think for
instagram yeah like i had to add a make it plural because i'm obviously sarah baker not sarah bakers
so that's kind of okay yes it's confusing yeah yeah it's confusing and i think for twitter i'm
just verisaker okay wow that is confusing yeah whatever wow whatever don't worry about it you
guys you don't have to follow me you find me you don't whatever i love your mindset she's like i
got a golden globe cast award that i did take one photo with you did yeah that's yes high five
All right.
Go follow Baker Sarica's.
Sarica's.
Perfect.
