Hey guys, it's your Lady Gang, Jack Vanek, Kelty Knight, and Becca Tobin.
Thank you so much for subscribing on iTunes, and thanks for supporting the great sponsors
who make it possible for us to have this much fun with you every single week for free.
Well, what is this?
Welcome to the Lady Gang.
That's amazing.
Say that again.
The Lady Gang.
Things are about to change around here.
Each week, we catch up with Hollywood's hottest girl posse, Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and
Jack Vanek.
Hello, hello, hello and welcome to The Lady Gang. I am Becca Tobin. Across from me is Kelty Knight. To my right is Jack Vanek. Hi guys.
You just really got right in there.
Well, I feel like at this point people know who we are, no? Do they want to know that Kelty is in Us Weekly this week?
Yeah.
Is that your good week?
Yeah.
I really wanted it.
I think you're ruining that. No, it's not my good week because it happens so often now it's not even exciting.
Barf, okay.
I didn't make Elena go buy the coffee though.
Of course.
oh my god do you think elena's gonna do a tell-all i hope so it'll be so good
oh i hope everybody heard that god it's amazing definitely fired all right on that note it's time
for good week yes it is bad week oh no who wants to go first me oh go i don't often go first i feel
like yeah you don't because i really try because i'm so anal to like let you guys to like take the
You really want to, though.
Yeah.
But I always want to, of course.
I have a new favorite Instagram account.
It's called Boop My Nose.
Oh, no.
And it is an account with only dog and, like, sometimes, like, boop.
I want to boop the dog's nose.
Boop, boop.
And it's just, like, that close-up of the dog's face from the nose perspective.
Yeah.
And it's so freaking cute.
What's it called?
It's right here.
Boop My Nose.
It's a little, like, redundant, no?
Yeah.
No, because they're all different poops.
It's cute, but.
look at the one with the tongue out
and every once in a while there's a cat
and there's been like a horse once
and like it's really cute
boop my nose
you're welcome ladies
congrats
not an ad from boop my nose
look at this dog's teeth
ew
I feel like those pictures could be cuter than they are
they're all
there's cuteness in the ugliness
okay
we got an email
yep
from a fan
and this is my bad week
but it's also like
it's just a bad week
from eileen the title of it is bullshit she says i am so sick of the fucking fact you kicked me
and my friends out of the group of no reason and then blocked us from it you guys have a
shit business model oh it's not a business model obviously i mean you did something dicky in the
group and that's yeah we don't kick out people that are cool like that are like acting right
um also eileen said it actually said i'm so sick of the fact you kicked me and my friends out of
the group with no reason and then blocked is from it so if you're gonna send a hate email you should
probably read that spell check is she the one that emailed somebody's boss that they said something
no i know don't be a dick in the facebook group you guys like wait somebody tattled on some girl
some i'm not gonna say the story exactly but some girl posted something regarding her work
this has actually happened a few times and then somebody from the group wrote her work being like
your person's talking about blah blah blah blah and you should fire her and it's not cool it's
not cool do not share shit outside the group or you're gonna get blocked and blocked yeah if you
act like a dick you're out um and also like post what you post like we are a super secret fun
facebook group but like be careful too anything you post on the internet you need to assume that
everybody in the world is gonna see it so just be careful too but also like don't be a dick guys
caution yeah okay anyway that's mine i'll go um my good week jack always wants to go second
i love going second because i'm not like it's not like nervous of the first but then i'm not
i always go second in any sort of a group setting um okay good week i did an instagram purge i
unfollowed like 2100 people what why were you following so many in the first place because
She wanted to get more followers.
Follow back?
No, bitch.
I haven't gone through my list of Instagram followers or people I follow since I started Instagram.
And I followed so many, like, bullshit Instagram, like, models for work.
And then I followed so many brands for, like, because I wanted stuff.
And then I'd follow so many, like, guys that I used to date that, like, I have no reason to follow.
So it has been a delight.
Do you still follow at Kelty and at Becca?
Sadly, yes.
So disappointing.
But I have also unfollowed a lot of people that I'm friends with in real life, too.
And that also felt great.
I'm scared to do that because...
Can they tell?
There's people...
Some people that have, like, the unfollow thingy.
Yeah, they have apps.
I've also noticed that I have unfollowed...
My, like, account has unfollowed people and I have not chosen to unfollow them.
Really?
Yeah.
Maybe they're just doing...
Sorry, Elena.
They just know for your well-being.
Sorry, ugly Instagrams.
We all unfollowed you without.
I don't need you guys anymore.
Elena's looking for new jobs as we speak.
She's on the recruiter now.
She is just over it.
Yeah, I highly recommend it for your health.
Oh, I'm going to do that.
I'm going to write that down, actually.
It's great.
Yeah.
I don't need to see anybody's freaking butts on my Instagram.
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay.
There's also a lot of people that you follow.
No offense to the moms out there, but you follow them because I wanted to see your fashion
and then they have a baby, like fashion bloggers, and then they turn into baby bloggers.
I don't like that.
And you're like, I just want to see what you're wearing.
I know.
It's true.
You know?
Start a baby account.
God damn it.
I know.
Okay.
And also, like, a lot of the babies are not cute.
People need to know when their babies aren't necessarily, like, I know every baby's cute,
blah, blah, blah, but not to everybody.
Not every baby's cute, though.
To their parents, they're cute.
Most babies look like aliens.
I've seen, like, two cute babies in my whole life.
I know.
It's just, I just feel.
Goblins.
I feel
Yeah
With the thing
Elsie Larson
You know
From A Beautiful Mess
Her kids
I'm obsessed with
Supernova Larson
Is like the only child
I need to follow
She adopted this baby
Go follow A Beautiful Mess
Supernova
Well her name's Nova
But her hashtag
Is Supernova Larson
It's all her baby stuff
She's literally
The cutest baby
I've ever seen in my life
She's a little baby girl
That they adopted from China
And she's albino
So she like needs
Like special
She always has to wear sunglasses
And like she's just
So freaking cute
And she just
Well cause
She's learning English
The mom is like
a crazy blogger aesthetic kind of woman and she has the coolest style so her daughter's just
dressed in like the cutest little outfits i love her yeah and the photography is amazing it's the
cutest thing i've ever seen while you keep going off i would like to see a photo please okay my
bad week so i was flying the other day and business class i was not and because i'm a normal person
and i went to go use the bathroom what's that like what's it like when your work doesn't pay
for all your flights um so i was going to the bathroom and the bathroom was obviously franco
what i was taking a franco the bathroom just was disgusting as airplane bathrooms are there's like
piss all over the place and the person didn't flush the toilet so i like go i like get some
toilet paper and i go to like flush the toilet and my glasses no fell off my into someone else's
poop into some there thank god there was no poop but it fell into somebody else's piss
and i just sat there being like what the hell do i do so i like took them tried to wash them off
i've tried to like disinfect them in like every way possible but that's why i got a new pair of
glasses because i can't even think about putting glasses onto my face that have been in somebody
else's i have a question though please tell me that the glasses you bought your new glasses are
not those rapist glasses that everyone's wearing what one just tried them on last time last week
no those are not the rapist glasses what are you talking about are they like the two richardson
the gold ones no they're not like that but they are no i'm you're talking are you talking about
the ones that are ladybugs she's more ladybugs no hers were cute yeah yeah yeah no small it's
these girls i'm like you're not doing yourself any favors and really the only person who should
ever be in those rapist glasses ever is a model trying to go out and not get hit on like that's
the only person who needs that kind of protection from the world what glasses are you talking about
oh she's so cute we're looking at pictures of yeah no i'm talking about let me show you
the race let's talk about rapist glasses and a tiny immigrant toddler at the same time she's so
cute okay my good week is this if you're not following gary genetti on instagram you guys
are elaine i've never seen her so happy so um brad gruski yeah is the stylist yeah his partner
husband i don't know if they're married but his partner or husband is a tv writer and he's a
hilarious tv writer and his instagram is it is the best instagram ever it's most of the things
are him as prince george throwing shade at people like megan markle and like i can't explain it i
can't do it justice but everybody needs to go on this account it's really funny my mother effing
day today's here's an example today's was a split screen it's a picture of prince george and a
picture of kylie jenner and it's a and it says in the caption how will they know if the baby looks
like you that's prince george asking kylie jenner how will they know if the baby looks like the same
picture of prince george and it's just a judgmental side eye it's so good it's so good okay that's
really good okay it's it's the best okay here's my bad week i started listening to a podcast
it's the dave ramsey show yeah money one the money one i'm not saying his podcast was my bad week
but his podcast brought up some bad week feelings for me it's a really intense podcast he's it's a
radio show is he the one that like tells you how to save money to buy everything in cash it's buying
everything cash and not having any debt and like putting 15 of your savings into investments or
15 of your income investments and like oh my god you listen to this and then you realize
no one gave me a manual when i was born this is how you become an adult and how you don't go
broken in some skanky nursing home like what the fudge no it's true it scared me straight they're
really teaching us the wrong things in school they really are i still don't know how to properly file
my taxes well that we don't have to do but like what we should be doing is making sure we're
saving for retirement and this sounds like a crazy ad but also are you done because i have
to pee so bad go go go all right what's coming up okay what's going on now here's the lady gang
our guest today is the only person becca will allow to touch her head it sounds dirty but it's
true she's a celebrity hair stylist who's worked with many of hollywood's hottest ladies including
Becca Tobin, Becca Tobin, and Becca Tobin, the hottest lady of all.
But also some no-names like Emmanuel—I don't know how to say her name.
Chicri?
Chicri, Taryn Manning, and Christine Leahy, who we love.
She's on American Ninja Warrior.
Yeah, she's really nice, and Hot Bod, and many others.
She was dubbed the fairy godmother of sunkissed color by Modern Luxury Magazine.
She's been a hairstylist for 15 years in California and New York
and has decided two years ago to follow her heart and open up her very own first salon,
Belle Serene, in La Jolla, California.
Please welcome the magical hair mermaid, Sherry Bellinger.
Yay!
Welcome to the Lady Game.
Thanks for calling me a mermaid.
You're welcome.
Full disclosure, Becca wrote your intro for the first time ever because I got really stressed
out yesterday, and I was like, can you please write this intro because she's really your
friend.
Because you guys are magical friends, and now I see why she comes to you for her hair
because it's exactly almost the same color no i'm darker you're you're maybe brighter than me right
now really yeah are you pissed off that you cut becca's hair and then everyone cut their hair
i saw winnie port and paris hilton and more people have everybody what's it called again the becca
no because i mean becca had this style even i feel like years ago before i feel like she's
been the trendsetter period so no it doesn't help no no i think it's awesome as long as she's ahead
of it that's what matters to me is how she is a client she's great is she someone that you cut
you're like okay i'll do this color and then like leaves it alone or she's someone that's like i
don't know but this piece right here she is not uh becca i think just trusts me and actually makes
my job really easy and i don't know if we've ever had like a flub or anything in the years so it's
it's fun for me because she trusts me have you ever had to talk her or anyone else out of a bad
decision clip on sherry's funny like this she'll never do like a rash hair dramatic hair change
so if i send her a picture or something that's really like a dramatic whatever she'll be like
take a week we have a therapy session we have a therapy session and then what's going on in
your life yeah why do you want this dramatic change how long have you thought about it
smart yeah you can't be when anything is going on we want to be impulsive with our hair for some
reason yeah and then the last thing you want to do is chop bangs or chop your hair off and then
you feel ugly and then you just spiral so yeah it's like the katy perry thing like i don't think
this is the haircut for her and i felt like she did it on a whim and then she's kept it for so
long you can tell that she's continuing like to kept her pixie cut and i'm ready for her to go
it out i feel like she feels like herself and her pixie that's what she said she's like she's
finally herself yeah hiding behind hair i think a pixie cut is real hard unless you're one on a
rider it's a tough one it is a tough one it would not be the haircut for me no me neither for most
yeah have you ever had a pixie where you're like that's a damn good pixie or you're like stay away
yeah actually even just recently i had a new client um and i mean i do long hair like that's
what I'm you know sun-kissed color long hair right so any new client I have they wait probably about
four five months to see me and so when they sit in my chair I'm expecting just kind of like they
want mermaid hair and this girl comes in she's a beautiful blonde and she wants me to chop her hair
off and into a pixie I'm like okay so I have my therapy session and she's like no I want to do it
I've thought about it and I'm like well why me because if you see my work this isn't really
my thing i can do it it's been years um she's like no you and so i did it and it was really
fun and you know i think for her it was maybe it went deeper but she had to take off that hair and
she i made sure that she was going to feel beautiful even if when she looked in the mirror
she didn't love it but she just felt so good with her decision it was crazy so where did you grow up
Tell me about your life.
So I grew up in a small town in Massachusetts called Methuen.
You say Massachusetts.
Massachusetts?
No.
Nope, she didn't say it.
Do people say two-sits?
No.
No, I did, and then I got corrected, and I had to say Massachusetts.
Is that correct?
That is how it's spelled.
Massachusetts.
Cool, just wondering.
Okay.
And then how did you get into this?
So, and then, yeah, my family moved to San Diego when I was 12, which was, like, the worst time in life to move your kid.
But, yeah, and just started over in San Diego and always wanted to do hair.
And so right after high school, I went straight to beauty school.
So I really had no other job.
Like, I worked at a tanning salon as a kid and then went straight to hair.
So I've been doing it now for 15 years.
you're also a therapist because i know that like anytime you get your hair done it's like when
you're like so what's new and then you're like like you it's like so why is that why what is it
about hairstylists that like you just tell them your deepest darkest secret there's got to be
something i think really vulnerable about sitting someone's behind you they're touching you right
like you don't even have to make eye contact it's through a mirror and it's just this there's some
sort of disconnect but then a comfort and yeah i mean in over the years i have had clients that
literally the second they sit down i see the tears starting i'm like oh shit okay here we go but
it's not hard for you because i'm sure you have your own shit too and then to like take all that
on like i feel so bad like when i think about someone standing there for like eight hours a
day just like taking on this emotional baggage luckily it's not always like that but there's
definitely been times where yeah i mean i'm i'm keeping inside my own personal heartache over
something and trying to be strong and just listen to the client and yeah they're you know complaining
because they stub their toe all the time or just something stupid and i'm like really because
i just had a miscarriage or i you know like my whatever just happened so you know you just but
again it's my job is to just be there for them and you know it's all relative you know what
your problem is to you and your pain so i try to just you know i've learned a lot of patience i
think with people and did you have a miscarriage can we talk about this at all sure yeah because
i think everyone a lot of women have them and no one ever talks about it so like when did you know
this is what was happening and and that is one of the weird things right like and when you have it
and you talk to people everyone says how common it is and it is one of those common things yet
it's isolating when you go through it and I think too what's crazy is when your body's pregnant and
then no longer pregnant your body still acts pregnant like you are just super hormonal and
you you know for me it was like my boobs hurt I I had like you know nausea like all these sensations
yet no longer pregnant so that's a hard thing I think for a woman to go through when you're
grieving that and um you know but then you get out you know I think at first it's hard and it's
something you just it's it's just part of your story and I think you know it's like for me it's
if next time it comes up to a client I can relate now and and be there and look them in their eyes
and say I've been there and you know so yeah sorry yeah it's okay but it's like I you know
I trust the journey I mean it's just something you know I I have faith in it all
it is so weird in our society that women we go usually traditionally you go so long before
telling people so it's like your little secret and you're so excited you and your partner and
you know you like are having this moment at home and you're not sharing it with the world and then
sometimes like in your case you hadn't really told anybody yet and then you suffer the miscarriage
and nobody even knew the story from the beginning and then you're kind of it like when you said
isolating that is that seems like it would be super super lonely because you weren't even able
to take people through the journey well and i think too it's it's something that you know even
though my husband is so sweet and loving like he could never fully understand what i was going
through he didn't have the connection yet and and so yeah i mean it's like unless i had a friend who
had been through it but i i'm the first in my my friend group so um yeah so for some time it was
really hard and like you know and then i was still exhausted too like i felt everything so working
through that i mean that was that was crazy but you know we're gonna try again and you know it's
it's just part of life yeah yeah it really is all right when we come back we're gonna get to all of
your burning hair questions and we have a page and a half of them we've never been more popular
in the facebook ever when becca said her hair goddess was coming on now back to the lady gang
all right we are back first of all these are all questions from actual lady gangers i didn't we
didn't write any of these no so this is what the world want to know um first of all this is a good
one how do you communicate correctly what you want to a hairstylist well one of the most important
things i would say is bring a photo yeah um some people think it's rude to bring photos still which
is weird it's like we all perceive things differently right so bring a photo of what
you want bring a photo of what you hate like to understand how you perceive color because some
people look at you know gold and they see yellow some people see orange some people think it's cool
so photos are everything and the more the better and I think one of the the best things is actually
to even bring photos of hair that you dislike or color like I hate these chunky highlights or
I like this tone here but see in this photo how she has the stripes here I don't want that
I think it's kind of good to see on both sides I never thought of that before that's brilliant
um a lot of women my hair is thinning what do i do i have a question with that too yeah is
viviscal legit or no i haven't heard of that one you haven't weren't you taking viviscal i take
viviscal it really works yeah so they have two they have like um they have one that you can just
get on amazon and then they have one that's like sold through salons and i really believe like i
took two a day for a year and went from basically broken off sad hair to like this flowing mane of
greatness is it like a biotin supplement like a biotin has like some weird stuff in it yeah but
it's really expensive like it's like 60 bucks a month so it's like not like 10 dollar biotin
but people swear by it yeah it's probably great i mean that's the thing you you have to treat
everything from within i feel like and so not just using something topically or there's no magic
shampoo that makes your hair grow i mean it's kind of starting from within and taking supplements and
if if all you can afford is just biotin start there um but yeah i have heard of other supplements
that have even more vitamins and nutrients that's good for promoting hair growth but different times
in your life due to stress or hormones you might go through like a heavy shed cycle so if it ever
starts getting concerning or like you wake up in the morning and you see a wad of hair on your
pillow then you need to call your doctor is there any possibility i can ever get my receding hairline
baby hairs to grow no right she just gave me that sad look because when i put my hair in a top knot
do you see how far back my actual hairline goes yeah is that just how your hairline is though
like you have a square has it been it's been like that since i was a child i mean that's just your
hairline i hate my hairline but i mean it's it could be worse and i i will say though that's
Also, when people lose hair around here, that's due to hormones as well.
And after women have babies, this is where they lose their hair from.
It comes back, but...
It's horrible.
The best advice for someone with naturally thick, curly hair who blow-dries it,
straightens her hair all the time, how do I keep it healthy?
I mean, embrace your natural curl and don't go through all that fuss.
Find the right products where you can take a breather sometimes
and not heat style and damage it, the more you flat iron or blow out naturally curly
hair, you're actually going to start damaging it and your curl might not even respond the
way that you want to.
And then you're just left with frizzy, damaged hair.
So if you can ever learn to embrace your curl and just rock it, that's going to be the best
advice.
And it's like a lifesaver on time too.
I know.
And I kind of think curly hair is like so great.
I love curly hair.
You just have to, you know, I think someone that's used to straight hair just feels so clean and, you know, proper and curly hair feels just wild and crazy.
But you just have to embrace it.
How can I help my hair from getting oily throughout the day?
The best thing there, like my go-to that everyone should have is dry shampoo.
And if somebody doesn't have a dry shampoo, then you have to get one immediately.
That will absorb the oil.
You can buy extra days from not washing your hair.
So dry shampoo 100%.
And don't touch your hair.
I think we touch our hair too much and our hands are greasy and it just makes it greasy.
Some girls in the group were like, I tried dry shampoo and it just makes my hair more greasy, I feel like.
What are your favorite brands?
Maybe it wasn't because there's so many and maybe they didn't use the right one.
Yeah, I have a few favorites.
I think for something a little bit lighter weight, for someone who's a little greasy but not too greasy, I love Oribe Makes Gold Lust Dry Shampoo.
And then for something a little bit more heavy, I have an all-time favorite.
It's by a brand called Chlorane.
It's K-H-L-O-R-A-N-E.
That's Sephora, right?
I feel like I've seen Sephora.
But it's light on the hair.
Same, Davines makes one called Hair Refresher.
And it's just, I mean, it definitely absorbs the oil and it 100% works.
And it doesn't create like a tacky buildup on your hair.
Some of them can make your hair feel disgusting.
So those would be my top three.
From the expert, what's the best heat protectant?
And I also want to know this because I know that I need to use one, but then when I put on my hair, it's like my hair feels dirty as soon as I washed it after I blow dry it.
So what do we do?
And everyone's hair is so different.
So it is finding the right product for your hair.
And a heat protectant is huge.
If you are curling or flat ironing especially, you are essentially cooking your hair, your raw hair.
So the heat protectant acts as a barrier between your hair and the heat, and it's super important.
I love, again, from Oribe, they have – it's called Super Shine.
And it's a cream, but it's light.
And they have regular super shine and super shine light for someone with really fine hair.
And you just use probably the size of a pea when your hair is damp and brush it through and even just something like that.
And if you prefer a spray, I mean, Davines makes one called No Gas Spray that I love.
No Gas Spray?
You're writing this down because I want to get all these answers.
No Gas Spray or if you're like a flat iron, like, just you shouldn't be.
that the flat iron is like the most damaging thing for your hair but if you have to flat iron
davines also makes something called melu spray and it protects up to like 450 degrees from the heat
so heat protectants are really important play and dabble ask your hairdresser what they think is
best for your hair type that isn't going to weigh it down because it is really important okay what
are the best treatments for smoothing and repairing bleached hair bleached hair i mean
you know i'm not going to say like a keratin treatment because bleached hair is already
chemically processed i think if you have bleached hair and it's feeling damaged and it needs to be
smooth you should more focus on treating it with masks and really good products versus
like an actual smoothing treatment okay or treat yourself at the salon and get like super deep
conditioning in salon treatments are really great for your hair like you know do it monthly
but i think it's what is that like i go and what do i ask for a deep conditioning treatment really
like we do luxury deep conditioning treatments where um we'll wash your hair and then we put
this amazing mask on and use like a aromatherapy towel and massage and it's just like we have in
salon we have treatments that um they'd be too heavy to use all the time on your hair at home
but you do it like monthly and they're really good so that's a good treat for your hair if
feeling thirsty. I love that. Best trips for a dry scalp. My scalp is dry. Mine's not. I don't
have that problem. I'm a greasy mess. Yeah. Dry scalps tricky. Um, because again, it's figuring
out what's the root of the problem for me. I have a patch of, um, dryness on my scalp. It's,
I think it's like a contact dermatitis and the only thing that calms it and makes it feel good
is coconut oil. Um, you know, and I think that there are things that you can get from a
dermatologist and every line has their own dandruff, whatever. But I think, um, figuring
out the root of the problem first, um, seeing if you can treat it naturally, try something like a
coconut oil. But if you're having just a lot of shedding on your scalp, you might want to see a
dermatologist. Well, I have like psoriasis on my scalp and for many, many, many years, I just
assumed that it was like dandruff and so i was doing like all these like cells in blue like all
of those treatments and then i went finally went to the dermatologist and it's a total autoimmune
thing and for me that was the worst thing i could be doing so going and figuring it out is super
important because i mean it's something i deal with and it's like real deal well and something
like say head and shoulders head and shoulders is the one for dandruff right so it's it almost
it can mask the problem but then it doesn't treat it so maybe it stops it for a minute but then
that problem that underlying problem is building and building and building and it's going to come
back and it's going to explode right so if it's something that's kind of serious and it's not
just seasonal or whatever i would definitely see a dermatologist air dry styles exclamation point
do products make a difference when you air dry your hair certain ways to prep or cuts to ask
for to wash and go so excited for this episode like where do i start with that one uh air drying
hair i think if you have any texture to your hair you definitely need some sort of leave-in product
i love using like a leave-in conditioning spray first as like a barrier prep spray on your hair
think of it as um what's on your primer like a primer to your hair and then you know depending
on the texture you need some sort of cream or lightweight mousse or a silicone type like oil
on your hair will definitely help from frizz one of my tricks that i like and i have naturally
wavy hair is when my hair is damp in the morning after i put all the products in i'll put my hair
in pigtail braids and super loose and i'll just kind of pin the bottom with a bobby pin actually
so it doesn't create a dent and i'll do my makeup i'll make coffee and then my hair is drying so by
the time i take the braids out it's calmed my hair down so it's not as frizzy and then it has
a really pretty mermaid weight and then i don't have to heat style so i would encourage people
to actually play with braiding but keep in mind like you want your braid to be loose and then
maybe trying to use either a scrunchie or a bobby pin or something to secure your braid so you don't
get a little dent from a rubber band the dent is so eighth grade braids yeah i actually do that
Well, a lot of times I'll – this is a question that's coming up.
I didn't ask it.
But if you wash your hair at night like you're me and then what I do is I part it and I put it in a low braid and then I sleep on my wet braid.
And then when I get it out in the morning, it's like kind of calmed down and it's just a little damp.
And then when they do my hair at work, they don't have to do like a full blow dry.
Is this horrible, sleeping on damp hair in a braid?
No, because I think by keeping it in the braid, you're actually containing it from getting roughed up.
I think everybody should sleep with their hair either in a braid or a bun or something
and secured with a scrunchie.
I'm a huge scrunchie advocate.
Should you do a lady gang scrunchie?
Yes.
Oh, my God.
Yes, you should.
That'd be amazing.
It'd be great.
But if you sleep with your hair down, you're, you know, having whatever dreams, roughhousing,
whatever, you wake up with a rat's nest and then you have to break your hair to brush
it out.
So that's bad.
So, no.
That's good.
Elena, do you sleep in a bun?
I usually braid it or I'll, like, twist it.
mm-hmm that's good okay just interested for you um this is a question for my mom but she didn't
ask it what is the best box dye for gray coverage i'm getting old as so here's the truth there are
a lot of women out there who like my mother sheila though if you're listening to this podcast turn it
off i told you not to listen um they'll go to a professional get their hair dyed right but their
hair grows so fast that it's like they don't want to go every four weeks to get this like
professional color so then they'll hop up to duane reed or whatever and like try to buy a box diet
color and then like do their roots i know it's not the right thing to do but there are a large
amount of women that do this so give them advice onto this i don't have don't do it well i get it
though because i have some clients that you know they do need their roots done every three weeks
and not only is that really expensive that's time consuming and i know that's not realistic for most
women um but i also don't know a formula like i don't know box dyes or i can't really i can't
really recommend a particular brand but what i what i would say is connect with your hairdresser
if this is going to be a reality be honest and upfront with them and say listen i love this but
i'm gonna have to touch up my roots at home in a few weeks and get their guidance as to what level
your hair is and what sort of underlying tone because box dyes will say warm brown and you know
someone thinks oh that's perfect for me and they touch up the roots and their hair turns purple
or red so there's a whole underlying chemistry behind color so I think as long as you have a
cool hairdresser they can work with you and help you find the right formula for your roots and
maybe even guide you as to how to touch them up without ruining the rest of your color because
right then you come back yeah and hold next thing i get it and i mean it would be that would be
awful if a hairdresser i mean we have to support that that's real that's realistic yeah do you know
when people with their hair totally yeah you do right we can read everything in hair so even with
like a new client if they're like no i never did anything to my hair i don't have anything i mean
we see the we know the stories so don't lie to your hair like a tree trunk right and you're like
oh this is you can tell so much from that no you can't oh yeah um okay everyone always talks about
how to add volume to thin hair i want to know how to deal with thick hair deal with thick hair
so maybe you're acting it like it's a flop bitch i know yeah grass is always greener whichever side
you're on i mean again embrace your thick hair you're so lucky and you know i think it's having
the right haircut you know the right amount of layers in there and finding the right products and
i think finding the ways if the thickness bothers you because it's too much hair finding cute ways
to pin you know maybe use a few bobby pins and just pin some of your hair out of your face or
whatever to kind of you know kick it back a notch or even trying the braid like i was saying if you
put your hair in a braid or in a low bun or whatever it kind of it it takes down the the
oomph of the hair a little bit best curl cream best curl cream you know bumble and bumble makes
a great curl cream um that i really like they have like a curl shampoo conditioner and an actual
cream and i haven't used it in years but what i remember about it is they use the technology
in mascaras that curl your eyelashes so they have that in the actual curl cream to help because
curly hair like no curl is the same right for a lot of curly girls so having that in the product
actually helps the shape of the curl so I really like that and then Davines makes a curl moisturizing
mousse and it's not like mousse from when we were kids that leaves your hair wet or crunchy it's
like a really but that was a hot look so it was at the time i had it but um it's just really
softening and it defines the curl and it kind of tames it without um yeah without making it
crunchy so i really love that one too if you had to tell us what things to buy from the drugstore
it's hard i know it's hard and it's only hard because i don't shop there right so it's you
know i i live in the salon i buy the salon products so i think i think maybe the more okay
thing like you should always invest in a really good shampoo and conditioner and heat protectant
product but maybe you can get a detangler in the drugstore or a hairspray if you find a hairspray
you like or maybe even a dry shampoo or a root spray like those sort of things but when it comes
to treatment if you you know bleach your hair if you color if you do anything you should definitely
still always invest in a salon shampoo and conditioner what about and i'm not mad at you
tj maxx but what about like if i go to the salon and i see the cheap products in the salon and then
i go to tj maxx and everything's ten dollars like is that off the back of a truck is it expired like
yeah it can be yeah i mean there's these days i mean you can you can get everything everywhere
and i've seen even retail that i sell in the salon at drugstores marked up higher or i've seen
expired packaging like like product that hasn't even been around and they're selling it and it's
bullshit okay um and it sucks for the customer because you don't know any better and it's not
a convenience so you know obviously i always support you know buying in salon and your
hairdresser if you have a hairdresser you trust like that's your hair person they know what your
hair is like when it's wet they know what it's like when it's dirty like they're gonna know
what's best for you and always take their recommendation. And, you know, sometimes you
can find stuff cheaper online, but if, if you are going to shop online, just make sure you are
buying it direct from the manufacturer or a reputable site, because I mean, product expires
in like three years. So you think of all these salons or businesses that buy bulk and then the
product's gone bad, they need to get rid of it. And then, you know, it's for us to buy.
what do you think about doing like eggs and like avocado and like the black bean hair mask that you
like make on pinterest i live as a kid i lived doing all that stuff i even put like mayonnaise
in my hair yeah no i remember that um i love it i think any natural you know thing you come up with
as long as you kind of can read like avocado i think would be great too like yeah like make your
own at-home mask i think that's awesome okay let's do this you have a bad hair experience
how do we handle this in a way that doesn't embarrass our salon person but also like do we
have to pay like what is the secret tell us once and for all because a lot of girls this is a
trouble and i think you know it's the hairdresser's job in consultation to talk as long as it takes
to make sure that themselves and their customer are on the same page.
So if they do their job right, then hopefully the client leaves really happy.
If in the end you feel like you didn't get what you wanted and then you're out this money
and you're disappointed, 100% you have to communicate it.
And if the hairdresser has ego wrapped around it and is rude, then I would say 100% speak
to the owner.
because as a salon owner, I want to know that.
I want to know every customer experience, good or bad,
and just talk with them and see if they can help you find a solution
that hopefully isn't a refund, right?
But, I mean, I think at the end of the day, if you don't get what you want
and maybe you were treated poorly or then neglected because you weren't happy,
I think it's kind of up to you to ask for whatever.
But I also think in the world of Yelp and social media, businesses can be bullied by that as well.
So I would say always give your stylist a chance to redeem themselves and see where there could have been a misunderstanding.
And, I mean, also, too, I think, again, with social media, Instagram makes it look like you can go from black hair to platinum blonde in two hours.
And that's just not realistic.
And so many, you know, so many of these changes take multiple appointments.
It's a lot of money and it's the hairdresser's job to try to educate the customer on that.
So that's something I think every hairdresser has had to learn with now how Instagram makes things look and everything seems easy.
And yeah, but I think it's okay to ask.
It's, you know, it's your experience.
It's your money and time and you have to be honest.
and if they don't know you're unhappy then then what guess what i'm the worst you guys can you
imagine me as a hair client that's why you're so glad so every time i get my hair colored i like
go home i'm like it's perfect in the salon and then i go home and i hate myself for like a whole
week and then i call her back and i'm like i just need this one piece done different and then i go
back and she'd fix the one piece every time like literally we're now at the point where she's like
i'll see you in a week for like book the one piece appointment right she's like but that's just like
the communication she knows i'm a crazy person and she's like you're annoying but like you always
come to me and like i don't know sorry i'm very annoying it's very annoying i'm so shocked no i
know would you expect anything less i'm just saying like i don't know i've just been honest
instead of like switching hair people or whatever like i'm just like she kind of gets that it was
like my hair what happens with my hair i'd like to know why this happens but it's like we do a
color and then it oxidizes like the first day it's great the second day it's great the first
wash it's fine and then by the second wash my hair is like brown again like it doesn't ever stay
because it's like we're trying to keep it out anyway so many things but it's like it's like
so it does change color in that first week so I'll be like well and the goal I mean if you like
your hairdresser too right like ideally you stick with the same person yeah they're they're on the
plan with you too if you're constantly leaving one hairdresser to try someone new you're never
gonna have consistency you're never gonna be happy also over the years I've learned when I'm
looking at pictures and hair inspiration and sherry has talked about this a lot with me
knowing like i'm not going to choose a color that kim kardashian does on her hair because it looks
beautiful on her and i'm going to think it's going to look beautiful on me because our skin tones
could not be any more drastically different so i think a lot of the time when i was younger i was
pulling pictures of people that i just wanted to look like like jennifer aniston yes that's not my
coloring so even if i had the rachel and the exact color that i showed a picture of you in the racial
i would look horrible yeah so it's also picking people who have your coloring when you're looking
for pictures like i found that that was really helpful that's great advice and i think yeah
oftentimes we fall in love with the girl in the photo versus you know it realistically being good
for you right um is it called true wives tale what's it called what is big little eyes no
wives tale is it a wives tale oh wives tale okay is it good wives tale no just a wives tale a wife
wives tale myth oh if you cut your hair it will grow faster a true
wives tale because people are like you need to cut it to make it grow so okay hair grows from
your scalp so obviously cutting it uh essentially what it is is you're cutting off the split ends
so if you have split ends they are only going to split towards your scalp and if you don't cut them
off your hair will just start breaking and get shorter so if you keep your split ends clean
it gives your hair a chance to grow in you don't want to over cut too often because then you're
constantly cutting off what grew in but it is important to keep um the split ends gone okay i
love that um okay let's talk about hair extensions so so many things to talk about okay i've had
clip-ins a full wig um tape laces ends bonds and that's what i've had what have you had i've had
the keratin bonds i've had the copper bonds i've had the tape ends i've had the clip-ins so all
the all the things all the things clips tape and then the ones that copper yeah what do you think
what are your thoughts i i mean i love extensions i think they can give you dream hair um and i
think you know for me i i love the little copper bond ones again if done correctly there's so many
methods there's so many different types every hairdresser does their own thing so you can't
really put them all in the same bracket. I've had people come to me because I do the copper bead
ones and they sit in my chair and they have giant metal pieces in their hair and it's not the same
at all, but they're like, oh, I have copper beads and it's like metal and it cut me when I was
trying to open up the lock. So I think they're great. You just have to find somebody that's
experienced. One thing I could say about extensions is they're a huge investment and, you know, it's
it's kind of like in plastic surgery like you don't want to don't get the group on like don't
skimp like if you're gonna get extensions know that you're investing in you know long term with
your hair the more money you're probably getting better quality hair more experience from the
stylist and they're gonna make sure your hair doesn't get damaged and if anything it gets
healthier and it's protected by the extensions but if you find a crazy deal or just whatever
i would run it's just not worth it nothing's worse than a bad extension like a bad extension
and you're just like britney yeah like no but like but what's the point at that at that stage
you're looking at it we saw one today yeah sometimes i wonder if they know like it's
confusing to me i'm like me too or they don't know i don't think they know i had them in my
early 20s, and I thought I was a shit.
I had like a small
cut, and like the first
layer ended here, and then it was just long.
That's when I met you.
Yeah, it was classic. Classic
Kelty, but yeah, no, you don't know.
You think you're so sexual.
Okay, this one is very heated.
If I don't wash my
hair every damn day, it's
oily and disgusting. I am physically,
emotionally, and spiritually
over having to wash my hair all the
time how can i coerce it to not be the spawn of satan and let me live my life damn i've never
seen somebody so mad i felt like that in high school you did yes because it was before so our
moms that generation did baby powder yeah and i remember my mom telling me in high school and
middle school that i should do it i was like that's disgusting i'm not doing that and now
you just spray it and now i spray it it saves my life but i remember feeling aggressively angry at
the fact that my hair would get greasy by like 3 p.m every day and you have to wash it every day
but like girl dry shampoo i would say so dry shampoo um but then also like i'm curious what's
making her hair so greasy so it could be her hormones um but it could be also look at the
shampoo and conditioner you're using is it too conditioning um are you putting conditioner on
your scalp or on your roots because conditioner should only go on the mid strands and the ends
of your hair um i think sometimes people condition their scalp and they shouldn't so that's just
gonna make your hair greasy um and just make sure you're using something super lightweight because
if it is if it's too heavy it's it's gonna make your hair oily right i will say as somebody who
like tends to be oily and you've seen it if i have too much grow out from my color if it's natural
like virgin hair too much of it i get greasier oh yeah so when i color treat my hair it actually
helps so much totally i used to be able to go so long because i used to have like a full bleach
set of hair i'd go every month to get it done but i'd never have to wash my hair yeah and now
because i have so many roots it's just i have to wash my hair every day well and i guess just think
one day you will get gray hair and your gray hair is going to be so damn dry that you'll be able to
go weeks without washing your hair and you'll miss how greasy it was so that's a good that's in the
future okay there's apparently a lot of oily bitches in our group because another girl was
like what are the diy or store boy bought things for oily hair but never mind okay baby powder um
i only condition my ends i use a paraben free shampoo that's gentle and isn't supposed to strip
my hair's natural oils does she have any other ideas on how to keep the oil down
wait you just said this no i know but then i realized i put a space in between the two things
well what's the deal with the paraben free yeah because i'm i'm confused by that and sulfate free
like is that a thing on your head it can create build up yeah so if it's in it can be negative
on your color too like it can strip color it can kind of strip hair of what it needs hair and scalp
so yeah if you can go sulfate free paraben free it's just it's like cleaner products right what
do you think of like the um cleansing conditioners the two-in-one like you know it's like when or
whatever those brands are i mean i just think i don't know i think there's you know what actually
Oribe makes one that's like that, that there are some people with sensitive scalps and
they love it.
I don't know enough about it.
Like with Wen too, I mean, I think Wen is really expensive and I haven't seen any miracles
and I just, I don't really believe, I think they're all sketchy.
I don't know.
I don't, there's no miracle, right?
It's like your genetics and it's just life.
So it's like learning to work with it.
I love it.
Is there – I didn't write this one down, but I just remember it, and now I'm mad I didn't write it down.
Is there, like, a hot tool that you prefer, like a brand?
Or does it matter?
No.
I mean, you can get – like, so many hairdressers actually just use Hot Tools Professional.
And they're, like, $35.
You can buy them at the beauty supply store.
They work great.
If you want to invest in something like a ceramic or something fancier, I like the brand Babyliss is really good.
But they all kind of do the same thing.
I think what's more important is that you have your heat protectant on before your heat styling.
My flat iron has, you can adjust the temperature.
How do you know what temperature is right?
I think there should be, like, a general rule of thumb.
Like, for anybody with processed blonde hair, I think you should go no higher than 300 degrees.
Oh, shit.
Some of them go up to.
I've been on 360 forever.
Mine goes to 450.
And that's okay.
I know.
They go to 450.
And that's insane.
like 450 will literally melt your hair off um and i just can't even believe they make those for at
home use um the only person that should be using 450 is like really kinky curly hair that can handle
it so i would say a good rule of thumb is 300 you can you know maybe do a little 350 but just don't
do it all the time have you ever had anyone come in and be like i want the beckatobin and they
didn't know you did the becca tobin i don't know i don't think so people love her hair though have
people come in and been like i want my hair like becca's and you do back like i heard you're the
one that does becca like i saw her shout on instagram and now i'm gonna come get my hair
done by you uh-huh yeah uh-huh but they have to wait like six months to get in with her
but yeah she's a hair trendsetter her salon is magical before we move on to ask the lady gang
if you live anywhere near san diego and i mean anywhere near because i drive how many
miles is it la to san diego la jolla like 120 at least something it's a two-hour drive at least
two hours like if you live within three hours i would say it's completely worth it like i go
it's like a little like escape from la and it's a beautiful salon beautiful city it's a beautiful
city it's so nice so you should go but don't take sherry away from me don't make her too busy
yeah Beyonce
I hate that you're
listening to the lady gang
and now you're gonna
try to steal her
she would
okay
when we come back
Jack's gonna read
hey ladies
get funky
ask the lady gang
did you get your glasses
I got my glasses
so I could read a question
oh my gosh
good for you
um before
do you not like your Tim Tam
what
no I don't like it
it's a weird flavor
like what's in the
back floor
is it like a cherry
on the inside
yeah
I don't like it
you want it the rest of it
No, I know.
Thank you, though.
I think you're lovely.
Before we start, ask Lady Gang if you want 20% off of jackvanek.com.
Use code LADYGANG.
And do you know how this part works?
No.
Okay.
Or, I mean, I've listened to it.
So we're going to answer questions that our listeners have written in and give them non-hair advice.
Our first question comes from Jen.
Jen says, on a recent episode, you told a listener to stop acting like a righteous friend.
But what do you do if one of your friends is acting righteous?
My friend group, we don't talk every day, but when we all get together, it's like nothing has changed.
However, over the past year, I've been trying to distance myself from one of them that lives in the same city as me.
She causes unnecessary drama and makes me feel guilty for living my life and being happy, which I just don't have time for.
Let her live.
Let her live her life.
I feel that her and I don't have much in common anymore and that I'm outgrowing our friendship.
Am I going about this in the right way?
And if it were to come up with the other girls, how should I approach the topic in a way that they would understand my decisions?
It's so hard.
This kind of friendship stuff is really hard.
I think that being honest and upfront is always the best thing because when you're not, you just let people like fester.
You're festering.
They're festering.
No one knows what's going on.
And then it becomes even like a bigger thing.
Like, it's cool.
You outgrow people.
It happens.
it's life um i just found out on facebook like one of my my old roommate from new york got married
and i was like she was gonna get married before and i was a bridesmaid in that wedding and then
they called the wedding off and then like 10 years later she just got married again i wasn't even
invited to the wedding like that's the way that that's literally lies you know and so you don't
feel guilty about it and like if someone's not fulfilling your life like life's too short i think
also it's like they she was saying that they don't get together that often so if it's something that
you can kind of not let affect your normal daily life and just be able to get together
like on special occasions and catch up and have it be super light to her yeah just like don't
involve her in like your heavy life shit and you know everybody grows apart from friends that's
just how it is i don't think yeah just wait till you get to be old like me i'll have no friends
except you guys and i make you be my friends and elena and we pay to be my friend we're kind of
paid to be your friends too though that's true sure yeah i haven't paid you yet but i will
you're gonna be paid to be a therapist by the way obviously she's like no i'm not available
kelty it's really crazy since being on the podcast it's a five-year wait i can't see you
and then i'm moving and then there's my number i'm in budapest beck i changed my number call
me i need to be next week okay um sherry gives me good friend advice you've seen me go through
some friend stuff yeah and i think sometimes i feel like i'm a hard ass and cut and dry but i
think you can you outgrow people and i guess i also believe that friendship it's a relationship
that takes work but it shouldn't be so much work like you shouldn't have to fight for it right and
i think girlfriends no matter what should support each other and be able to be honest and call each
other out and you know if it starts getting funny then that's weird like something's changed and
And I know I couldn't, like, if I felt like one of my girlfriends was constantly judging me, like, that's not a friendship.
Like, you know, so it might be time to say bye.
Cut the call.
Time to say goodbye.
What are you singing?
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la.
Andrea Bocelli.
And Sarah Brightman.
It's time to say goodbye.
Okay.
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na.
Okay, second question.
She started it, and also she didn't finish it.
Also, she's texting.
And she has a great voice.
Sorry.
Sorry.
I'm just going to double team her job right now.
Continue.
Okay, second question comes from Sarah.
Hey, Sarah.
Sarah says, I'm 21 and currently finishing my last few years at university, and I have not made friends yet.
I have a lot of social anxiety, especially because most of my years in school I've been bullied, both physically and verbally.
Like in school, having rocks thrown at me, an old roommate cutting my hair in my sleep.
holy shit, or finding actual
poop in one of my props for a theatrical
performance. Becca?
I peed. I did not poop in anything.
Despite feeling blue, I'd love to hear
your thoughts about how to decrease or manage
social anxiety from past events so I can
keep putting myself out there and not take life
too seriously. I've learned to
love myself. I'm not always perfect, and
I love my alone time and really get clear
on my goals. I'd love to find
I'd love to be able to find at least
one or even a few people to form
friendships with whoops i think the thing is is that in school like high school college or
whatever everything's still like really determined by the cliques and so the bullying comes from like
the leaders of these i know it sounds like greece right now but like the leaders of these cliques
you know like the greece you know greece my favorite movie yeah so the like the leaders
of the people like bullying you yeah the thing is is like they are taking it out on you because
the truth is like they're so insecure and unsure of their own futures and the thing is is that like
all you need is one friend yeah you know like and the world especially in high school and college
and in junior high school and middle school like it makes you feel like you need a squad like you
need to be in taylor swift scott and have 18 best girlfriends that you're constantly talking to but
the truth is when you become an adult you have like a handful of friends and most of those people
are family anyway so i think just don't worry so much about what other people are thinking it's so
sad that you've this like the crushing anxiety but like there's gonna be a person out there for you
to be friends with and so if you're into drama like find someone else like and it doesn't matter
who they are they could be the biggest loser in the whole world but like they're gonna be your
loser you know what i mean so um i think okay number one i grew up with like a shit ton of
social anxiety as well, especially around that same age. I think number one, therapy might help
you with the anxiety a little bit. But I met all of my best friends during this age and I went to
college, but none of them went to my college because I just found I had nothing in common
with most of the people in my school. So I met most of my friends through going to concerts and
through music and stuff like that. So if you have these outside interests, I could not think of that
word interest like you should definitely go and experience that and also like those like bumble
bff apps and stuff like you can find people that are into the same kind of stuff that you are that
aren't going to be assholes like the people at your school honestly join the lady gang facebook
group like there's so many girls that are like i don't have a lot of friends and like i feel like
you guys are my friends and they don't even have to be real they can be digital friends well no i
was gonna say even if it's like somebody to talk to you and that's going to understand again like
with anxiety we've talked about this like a bunch of times like talking to somebody that has never
experience anxiety about anxiety just like doesn't work because they don't understand
like what is like crushing your soul so if you can find somebody that like understands the kind
of things that you're going through i think that even if it's somebody online that lives like
states away from you will be like such a help it's so crazy that you had this anxiety because
i looked at you and i was like that girl's the coolest oh my god i was having like you're talking
like leopard hair jack vanik with like the short bang was like having anxiety oh yeah like any like
social event i'd go to i'd have to leave because i was like literally like how did you go on tour
with the musicians i'd have anxiety attacks on tour too you didn't think at any point maybe this
isn't my niche no i loved it clearly her niche she loved it but then you panicked but that was
just me in general okay so like in any situation you would have panicked yeah but then i mean with
my social anxiety it was because i was forcing myself to do things i didn't want to do yeah so
it's like once i took myself out of like situations that weren't making me happy and made me like
super fucking anxious then i felt a lot better that makes sense yeah yeah i'd say too don't live
or don't live in your past either because that's some messed up shit and like that's that's those
people's karma like that is not your future and there's so much ahead and so many great people and
one thing that comes to mind is like maybe getting an animal or a dog and you know your dog will
become your best friend and you go to dog parks
and meet other dog owners or something.
I mean, you'll find your
right people. And never forget,
I drank piss in high school
because I was, you know, drank piss
from the hockey team. She was bullied by the
hockey team. I drank piss because I drank piss.
I am now a two-time Emmy
nominated television host.
Oh, not a loser?
And I'll probably win one
in the next ten years.
That's right, babe.
Look at you now. Sights are high.
okay last question comes from kelly kelly says everyone seems to be on my case lately about my
love life i'm single and at the point of my life where most of my friends are married engaged or
in serious relationships i'm constantly asked about my tinder date status and honestly my
quote-unquote i'm working on my self-excuse is getting close to its expiration date i'm turning
28 in a few months and i'm starting to envision my ovaries drying up and a life alone same girl
how much time is too much time to work on fixing yourself am i wrong to want to get it to get fit
figure out my career and fix my financial status before i start shopping for boyfriends
first of all 28 is so young so young i don't know where you live but like that's so young
yeah unless you're living next to your ex your eggs are not drying up right now there's no
you have until 35 to freeze your eggs i found that out it's true oh cool but like there's no
expiration date on taking care of yourself i think that the more work you can do on yourself
before you meet your person the more successful your relationship is going to be so it's like
you put in the legwork now it's it's like going to the gym the more you do it the more success
you're going to have so it's like don't and a lot of the time people find their identity in their
boy that they're dating and that's just a disaster it never works out well so it's so nice to be a
fully formed human and be able to a select the right mate for you because you will have such
high standards because you have become such a cool person and then it's just you'll find somebody who
isn't like the codependency thing and like finding their identity in you you'll have your own cool
things going on and it'll be like a really great relationship but you're 28 you have so much time
And it's, like, you're in such a good mindset because I know, you know, there are a lot of people out there that, like, this problem is, like, within them and not from, like, everybody else around them.
And that is causing, like, stress and anxiety.
And it's, like, when am I going to find somebody I'm getting all blah, blah, blah.
But for her, it's, like, she's just, like, annoyed about everybody else asking her about it.
So I think whatever you're doing is great.
Be as independent and as yourself as you are.
because and go on dates and figure out like what you like about guys and what you don't because
it's all about like a numbers game and figuring out who's going to work for you so yeah i mean
i think it's fine and also keep it in perspective because i do understand like being from the
prairies in canada like most people were married by the time they were 23 24 like i have friends
that have like 14 year old children like so i understand that like in certain parts of the
country in the world like 28 does feel really old because everyone has already like mortgaged their
house and like you know in la we're lucky that you don't really like mature until like 45 you know so
not ever but just keep it keep in mind and i i always say travel is the best thing for that
because it's like i always think like what if i just traveled more what i've met like someone in
brazil you know what i mean like you don't know so like just go travel and see the world and see
how everyone else lives and you'll feel a lot less yeah pathetic i feel like from like age 28
into your 30s is when it starts getting good too like you really do start to know yourself and
i think you can really pick like becca was saying like finding the right person instead of settling
so you're you're ahead of the game she's in a great spot yeah i think she's in a better spot
than probably most people but you know you have to now say that about you yourself right i'm in a
great spot yeah you are i actually i'm her is that me no i don't know did you write this you're not
28 also i find that a lot of people that are are like annoying about when are you settling down
when are you settling down because a lot of word well also it's like misery loves company it could
be people who are like shit i settled down i'm kind of jealous of her freedom let me have her
join me in this miserable the thing is it never stops when are you when are you gonna find a
boyfriend when are you guys gonna get married when are you gonna have a kid when you're gonna
have another one oh she's closing up the shop it never ends stop asking me when i'm closing up the
shop because i haven't even opened the shop did you write this it's me i'm kelly i just changed
the guy kelly um okay well that's the end you have any more hair questions for the end of the
the show i'm gonna ask you personal questions after this is done so i don't bore anybody but
i do oh okay um you're the best thank you for driving up from la jolla and i hope becca's
about to take you out for a nice dinner or slash get a haircut right now i don't know get a hair
i like almost was like oh maybe she'll cut my hair while i'm doing this then i was like no
i'll make the drive i was like becca would kill me um you're the best do you have like an instagram
page that people should be following or if they want to contact the salon yeah so my salon it's
bell seren salon um is you know at b-e-l-l-e-s-i-r-e-n-e-s-a-l-o-n and then my instagram
is sherry underscore bell seren salon oh that's perfect yeah easy and becca tags are all the time
so if you follow becca be really easy um okay we love you so much thank you for this i think this
was very interesting and i was actually kind of um surprised how many girls were like so pumped
about like hair oh yeah no people are like oh my god and we have so many questions we have a lot
of hair stylists that are lady gang listeners also so i think it's very cool that you went
off and opened your own salon because that's a huge undertaking and it's very inspirational
thank you she did it she did it and you have that celebrity becca tobin yeah she's so famous okay
