LadyGang - SPIRIT DAUGHTER

Episode Date: March 31, 2026

Spiritual teacher, astrologer, and Spirit Daughter founder Jill Wintersteen is back on LadyGang—and this time she’s reading all of us. Jill breaks down the shocking astrological connectio...ns between Keltie, Becca, and Jac that may explain how the LadyGang has survived a decade without killing each other, and why Becca might actually be the glue holding it all together. Plus, Jill dives into the science behind manifestation, how childhood scarcity rewires your brain, why “rest and digest” might be the key to changing your life, and the difference between following your heart versus following your soul. LadyGang is brought to you by MACY'S! Starting point is 00:00:00 Well, what is this? Welcome to the Lady Gang. That's amazing. Say that again. The Lady Gang. Things are about to change around here. Each week, we catch up with Hollywood's hottest girl posse, Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek.
Starting point is 00:00:17 Hello, hello, hello. Welcome to the Lady Gang. I am Becca, here with Jack and Kelty. Hello. Hi, guys. Hi. Kelty? You guys are wearing your Love Shack Fancy attire,
Starting point is 00:00:29 and I'm in my Lady Gang merch. We're really doing it. Really doing it. Really doing it. Kelty, did you have a crash out? I had a little crash out. No. Just right now? Yeah. I powered down and then I powered back up. I know. I was like, are you there? I see your face looking at me. No, I'm excited to tell you about my bad week. Okay. Well then let's get into it. It's time for good week yes it is bad week oh no okay so i had a very exciting day at the medispa um and a good thing happened and a bad thing happened so i'm gonna start with the good thing so um i a few weeks months ago becca was like oh my face is kind of droopy and then i was like just go get a massage and it'll like you know drink some water bitch and and i did that too i went
Starting point is 00:01:19 got a massage and I still felt like my little, like around my mouth, like the old lady jowls were starting to jowl. So this is kind of interesting. And you know, I love Dr. Diamond, but I switch my Botox between going to Dr. Diamond, that's insanely expensive. And then going to Honest Dermatology down the street and it's, you know, which is much cheaper. And I could not get into Dr. Diamond. Also, it's so expensive. So I went to Melissa and she did a Botox that Dr. Diamond does not do and it really helped because I was like I'm just so droopy and she she's has me do like a pout face like a and then she grabs it with her little pinkture fingers and she puts Botox like right here not in the chin it's like yeah the DI the DOA or something
Starting point is 00:02:03 yeah DAO it totally worked it's gone the little like I had a little floppy it's gone yeah the it like pulls it that muscle like pulls your face down it like pulls your face down it shortens as you age so I just want to tell everyone that that was a win so good week and it was just a little drop so you could get that done if you're feeling and if your person is not doing that it made all the difference in the world my bad week is that Eileen my makeup artist is like your brows are inconsolable and she said to me can you please get your brows laminated again because they're just so like, they just do whatever they want. And one sticks up here and one goes over here. And I was like, yes, but I knew it was too soon. You guys, I knew it was too soon. I had just
Starting point is 00:02:49 gotten them done at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. And I was like, it's too soon. It's like when you bleach your hair, you can't bleach your hair every three weeks. So I went and we burned my eyebrows off. You can't tell because I have it done, but there's two complete bald spots. If I didn't have the um leftover microblading microblading I would have no eyebrow here like I would be like Charlie Puth with the scar and I was just wondering like do I go back to my girl because clearly she burnt my eyebrow off but like it was probably my own fault because I went too soon but like she didn't say anything in the moment it was almost like you know when you get your hair done and they let you go and then you go brush it and it all just breaks off in your hands
Starting point is 00:03:28 yeah it was like that do i can i go back to her maybe you should say something to her yeah be like did i come to okay anyway that's it did you lie about how long it had been but if she doesn't she knows i don't think she saw it happening i think she thought it was fine i left because she showed me in the mirror and was like they look great and then when i got home i went like this and like kind of broke hair broke like you know how it gets like gummy your hair gets gummy Yeah. Anyway, I will never. And I just like made me giggle because I was like, I will be 97 years old, God willing, and I will be not my face in some way, like trying to do something that I shouldn't have done. And then I also got a lip flip. So I still can't like talk properly. It's just like. I do want to give a PSA about your Botox conversation. Doing Botox around your mouth at all is very risky because there's so much chance of it going wrong.
Starting point is 00:04:26 Like a lip flip going wrong just because it's you move your mouth so much. So if you start paralyzing the muscles around your mouth, like your chin, your lip flip, like there is just it doesn't always go well. You know, like the forehead always goes well. Oh, it does for the most part. Unless you get that little bunchy part in the middle. Unless they don't do enough. Or the Spock eyebrow. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:50 That's always tough. How are you guys? I'll go next. I am watching Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Just so amazing. Every season just gets better and better. And my good week is that Jessie mentioned Lady World on the show. Really?
Starting point is 00:05:09 Did you see it, Kelsey? do you know what's happening what i'm going to talk about next so she was like talking to her husband and she was just like you know she's like oh i just got back from lady world it was so much fun and she's like but the host mispronounced my name who i think was me yeah what did she say she's like she called me nasty gara because her last name is natty gara i think it's her name's very hard. Naughty Cara? Naughty Cara. Yeah. So the way I had it in my pronouncer document was Naughty Cara, but I think I got drunk. And so by the time I was announcing her, I might have said Nasty Cara. Oh my God. But I was like, I was watching it with my parents and we're just like
Starting point is 00:05:54 watching and she's like, oh, Lady World. I'm like, oh my God. I'm like, that's so awesome. She mentioned Lady World. And then right away it was like, it's like, and Kelty picked up but my question is did i or is she just doing it for the plot well because she wants to change your name that well that was the conversation where it's like she she's like she had a hyphen i think she has a hyphenated name with her husband's name her name is ridiculous we could barely like we love you jesse and she was just on the podcast but like it's in we could barely have her at lady world because we couldn't fit her on the poster like if your name is more than 22 characters. You should not be a famous person. You're taking up too much space. Like,
Starting point is 00:06:32 we want you on the cover of People magazine and stuff. Naughty Cara Draper is too many letters. Well, and that was the whole thing. She was like, oh, Taylor Frankie Paul is like such an easy thing to remember and say where it's like my name, last name is so, so hard. But it was just so funny. I'm like, of course, it was Kelty. You're going to say that she was saying that the night that we stayed up until midnight, her putting my hair extensions in my hair that the entire time I had not seen the show, had not watched it, don't know any history, but we were discussing her marriage and all the things. And I was like, if you don't go home and break up with your husband, you're a dummy. I literally gave her a lecture on like, I know nothing. I know nothing except for like these
Starting point is 00:07:13 little snippets. And I'm disappointed to see that they're still together. And I'm not going to lie. Every single man on that show is absolutely horrible. Terrible, right? And they're, well, yeah it's just it's a whole thing also i'm like ew well i know that like people i guess your soul chooses your name before you come into this world but i dakota is not a name for a grown man no dakota no we knew it was trouble it's the chad of this generation it is it is oh my god well There's like the only reason I know the word or the name Dakota is there's this emo song called Dakota, but it's about like a girl, a gal. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:59 I know a dog named Dakota and that's and she's a girl. Yeah. Wow. Okay. Kelty. I mean, did you expect anything less? No. Was that your bad week?
Starting point is 00:08:10 Was that she said? Okay. That would be a bummer. Okay. My bad week is I, you guys, if you've been listening to the podcast for a couple years, you know that I don't go Karen on anybody. Like, it really takes a lot for me to go full Karen. Although, aren't we calling the millennial version the Jessica? Have you guys seen that? Yeah. Jessica. Like, so the boomer problem, like the boomer Karen. Karen is the name for that.
Starting point is 00:08:37 Yeah. Like, let me speak to the manager type person. Well, the millennial version is allegedly Jessica, which is that bums me out. Well, yeah. My friend has an alter ego when she does go karen named meredith which i feel like fits it a little meredith feels right jessica meredith is a cunt yeah yeah but meredith is kind of cool and like right karen is not cool karen is a douche yeah so like and jessica's not a douche so we need like a millennial douche name but i can't come up with that no ashley's are great i'm trying to think i'm just trying to think of like a basic because karen's such a sorry to all the karens sorry your name was ruined it also made me feel better when alexa chung when alexa became alexa and alexa chung
Starting point is 00:09:23 couldn't be cool anymore because she was named alexa so everyone has a problem wait why couldn't she be cool because it's like now you're like oh the alexa there's a lot of alexas well the speaker the like oh alexa yeah yeah okay so i it's like the most basic name okay i have gone karen once okay one time with the tanning salon okay remember that And I was so embarrassed because I also got recognized the next time I went in. And you know that they were talking shit about how I'm a cheap ass mother. They have a poster board of you in the back. Wait, was it because you didn't tip?
Starting point is 00:09:59 No, it was because I had a membership and I was leaving for like a very long time. And I just wouldn't let you. Yeah. Well, I did. But then I had to turn in a form like they make things so easy. I mean, so hard to cancel. So anyways, I have, Kelty, you and I have been in discussion because the Lady Gang credit card has been getting charged by this random platform that I went and did a trial of when we were planning Lady World. Because I was like, maybe this is the software we need to do this planning of activities.
Starting point is 00:10:35 I go in, I do the thing. I'm pretty great about like signing up for a free membership and then going in immediately and then canceling so that I don't the next month, I can still use that free month. And I, I did this, but then Kelty text me a couple of weeks ago. She's like, Hey, we've still been getting charged by this, this place what's happening. So then we get into this whole email, this whole email rigmarole. And I tried to be really nice because this woman was like, you know, oh, yeah, we see here that you canceled it in July when you signed up. But then this other email signed up again, like another email that I have. I'm not kidding. Yesterday,
Starting point is 00:11:16 the verbiage that I used was so I was trying to be nice the whole time. I'm like, so you're telling me you think and also I go go look in my file. I have not even used this. I haven't visited your website in nine months. So I haven't been utilizing anything that you offer. And I finished it by saying, I find it very hard to believe and pretty bad business that I have never received one time an email ever from you. They never sent a confirmation of me purchasing anything. They didn't send a monthly, hey, you're being charged for your monthly. I'm like, this is me maybe going to the Better Business Bureau. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:11:58 This felt like a BBB. This is a claim for the BBB. And I'm, it's taking everything I need to not say the company because I know like this could be a glitch. This could be a mix of a glitch and somebody who's not good at their job.
Starting point is 00:12:13 No, they do this on purpose. Becca, this is a case for the L-G-B-B-B-B. Okay, because this is the lady gang Becca Better Business Bureau. And I said that with my lip flip, which is shocking. That was shocking. This is f***ed up.
Starting point is 00:12:26 you know what? You know who I can depend on? Dropbox. Dropbox? Yeah. Are you overpriced for a cloud that I don't even understand how it works? Yes. But do I get an email every month? You were charged your monthly bill for the Dropbox premium. Thank you so much for letting me know. That should be a law. I know. You know what I mean? These people, first of all, it was like a wild goose chase. First of all, you're charging me. First of all, you have a name that doesn't make sense. Second of all, when we go to the contact us, all I do was get an AI chat. Ha, do you have a question?
Starting point is 00:12:58 Hi, you're charging me. I tried to cancel this. Sounds like you're having a trouble with your account. Is that correct? Go yourself. No, I'm not talking to a real person. Here's my thing. As a business, we have no customer service.
Starting point is 00:13:13 But as a business, if you have a customer service bot, fine. That's fine. But you also have to have a customer service email that actually goes somewhere. The bot cannot be your only form of customer service. The bot cannot be the barrier of entry. It can't be. There was no email. There's no phone number.
Starting point is 00:13:31 There's no actual business. There's no one to contact. And they're like, oh. And then when I called them, they were like, oh, we've been sending emails to this. It's been bouncing. Okay, bitch. If you've been bouncing this email for seven months, you don't think we should. I know you know my social security number.
Starting point is 00:13:46 Also, also, how is your email bouncing when you're telling me that's the one connected to the charge? To the account, yeah. If the email is bouncing, the charge should be bouncing, okay? This is, this is like really pissing me off. Like really pissing me off. Because it's like we haven't even been using. Right.
Starting point is 00:14:05 You can see how many times. I've never even used it. Your product sucks. It didn't even give us what we needed. Oh my God. I want to say the name of it so badly, but I won't. No, I'm going to. We're going to put it.
Starting point is 00:14:14 It's the name of the newsletter this week. It's a secret. No, it's bullshit. It's absolute bullshit. Do you think for one second, if I signed up for the Happy Hour Mail Club, which I wanted to, but I couldn't because my credit card got stolen
Starting point is 00:14:31 when I finally got around to it. And then I went and tried to Apple Pay. My Apple Pay is not set up, but I'm going to join this month. Wow, that's a lot of excuses. I'm joining. If for one second, I wrote Jack Vanek and said, I didn't get my half-hour mail club,
Starting point is 00:14:45 she would be like, oh my God, I'm so sorry. And she would go to the end of the earth. She would skip brunch to find out where your print was this month. Yeah, they do do that. So go f*** yourself. Granted, our merch does sometimes take a while to get to people.
Starting point is 00:15:02 We fixed it. We fixed the processing. No, people ordered merch and it immediately got sent out the next day. We figured it out. Oh, good. Okay, see, working on the kinks. Working on the kinks.
Starting point is 00:15:13 And if you email us, you'll get a real person, not a bot. Yeah, it's bullshit. Okay, well, my good week, I'll end this on a high note. You know, when we started Lady Gang 10 years ago, we were just hot messes of humans. We didn't know where we were going. We didn't know the direction we were headed in. And there was like a lot of question marks.
Starting point is 00:15:31 Like, what am I going to do? Who am I going to be? Am I going to tap into my full potential? I'm very happy. And Jack, seeing one of your recent, actually, it was an Instagram ad. that you did for the scented thing oh yeah which is so good yeah I'm gonna order it um and it's you like tying it all into your art just it reminded me that like right now you and Kelty are both
Starting point is 00:15:56 working at your full potential like you're the artist that you've been dreaming of being Kelty's this evil genius that she's always wanted to be I get k-type emails off the chain all day long and every time I receive it I'm like good for her she is finally hustling for people who appreciate it. So I'm proud of you with your book coming out with your art. Granted, I don't know where my life is going, but that's fine. Two out of three is great. Two out of three is great. It's just not my moment right now. I mean, it hasn't been for a decade, but it's coming. It's on the horizon. It's definitely coming. And we're going to be very, you know, and the world is letting us have our moment right now so that we can prepare
Starting point is 00:16:38 because when it's your moment, it's going to be so all hands on deck. I'm going to have to Kris Jenner you so hard. Actually, I did think about this, Kelty. There was somebody who, gosh, I can't think, I can't remember who this was. It was somebody who's like up and coming. And I really wanted, like, I was thinking if only Kelty were a publicist, if only because I know that if she was at the helm of this person's career, it would be explosive. And it's like, I can't, I mean, you're not a publicist. I mean, you could
Starting point is 00:17:13 be, is there even like any sort of certification you need to be a publicist? You don't have to go to publicist school. So I, you really are. I mean, I trust you. I'll pay you. I'll pay you to be my publicist. You know what? I could get more for you than a publicist. I agree. I already know the story I'm writing for you. Okay. When we come back, let's see what is in the cards for our year. OK, the stars are aligning. Now back to the lady gang.
Starting point is 00:18:00 Today's guest is originally trained in neuroscience, but is now everyone's favorite spiritual teacher and author. You probably know her from Spirit Daughter, a super popular astrology and wellness brand where she shares accessible tools and teachings with more than 2 million followers. Her newest book, Own Your Power, Change Your Life, is a chronicle of her journey from academic researcher to spiritual teacher, offering readers a roadmap through the territory or transformation that begins when life falls apart. Don't we know that? Please welcome back to the podcast here to help Becca figure out how to live her best life while Jack and I are thriving, Jill Winterstein. Welcome. Well, thank you. Thank you. Thanks
Starting point is 00:18:46 for having me. Thank you. Okay. So the last time you were here, I found out some things about myself and some of them came true. So I feel like I learned a lot about myself. And then whenever I'm on TikTok and I'm like, oh, I have to check out the blah, blah, blah. I still am very confused about everything. But yes. And before Jill came on, I before we get into like the discussion of your wonderful book that I finished last night, I said to Jill last time I saw her, I said, I want you to do a reading for me, Kelty and Jack, because there has to be some sort of synergy that has to do with the fact that we have not murdered one another after a decade of working together. I mean, things have gotten tense, but like the love has remained and I'm
Starting point is 00:19:31 really curious. Like what is that in our, is that what's written in our stars? It actually is. You all have some really interesting overlaps of placements. So yeah. So astrology, we look at first of all, sun sign, moon sign, rising sign. And so astrology can be very confusing. But if you're starting out, you just start there. What's my sun sign? What's my moon sign? What's my rising sign, which was the sign that was rising in the horizon when you were born. Sun is your core identity. Moon is like your emotions and what you need to feel fulfilled. And then rising sign is what you project outwards, what you're kind of striving for in some ways. It's like what you let other people know about you. And so you all actually have really interesting
Starting point is 00:20:21 overlaps becca your moon is at six degrees taurus and it's actually right on top of jack's ascendant at six degrees taurus whoa yes and so this is like a really beautiful aspect um that you see a lot of friendships that are lifelong and so becca you instinctively feel jack like you get her on a gut level. Whoa, because they really like hanging out without me. And this makes a lot of sense. We do connect with each other. They do. When they get to be at the bar together without me, they're like, oh, wow, we really like each other. And I'm like, sorry to be getting in the way. Well, and Jack, you probably feel emotionally safe around Becca because of Becca's like emotional nature, which is that moon and Taurus. And it aligns perfectly with how you, your rising
Starting point is 00:21:14 sign present yourself to the world and so there's like an instant recognition here like you've already known each other before you ever even met oh yes that makes sense because when we pitched lady gang we lied and said we were all best friends but these bitches had never met but they acted like they had been friends for decades yeah that is so crazy yes but then there's also and so that's a lot of earth energy too so that's taurus so there's some really, there's a lot of earth energy. And then Becca, your north node, which I think we touched on when I did your full reading, the north node is like where you're karmically headed in this life, like the lessons you're here to learn and integrate. That north node is a five degrees
Starting point is 00:22:00 Taurus. And it's also like right next to Jack's ascendant. And so this just tells us that Jack is a part of Becca's soul evolution this lifetime and your your journey your your life path right you guys are part of each other and this is all like really grounded and Taurus energy which is like very very stable very very very stable so so there's that and then there's also so Kelty you you have um your moon in Pisces which is very emotional so now we're in water territory so this going to feel a little bit differently, but it conjuncts Becca's ascendant. So your moon is on top of Becca's ascendant. Becca's moon is on top of Jack's ascendant. Whoa. And you don't see this like often. And that's why like when people are like, I met this guy and he's a Taurus or he's
Starting point is 00:23:02 this. I'm like, it's so much more complicated than that because they can have these, you know, these other things in there. And so, you know, we might look at your son in Aquarius, Kelty, and we might say, what is she doing with this like Capricorn and this Taurus? And like, lo and behold, your moon in Pisces is right on Becca's rising sign, which is 24 degrees Pisces. Like these are exact degrees. So this is, this is pretty phenomenal. And so just like with Jack and Becca, we see this like moon right meeting this like key angle which is the rising sign and so Kelty your emotional um nature really matches the way Becca shows up in the world and Becca you probably feel deeply seen and understood by Kelty on almost a psychic level and so that Pisces energy though
Starting point is 00:23:53 like adds this layer of intuition and emotional sensitivity so where the Taurus connection is like grounded and really like stable and nurturing and comfortable and feels cozy and home home like the Pisces is more of like an intuitive emotional layer but yeah you guys are like all layered on top of each other which is really crazy really cool wait but I wouldn't consider my I mean am I emotional not I mean are you kidding I mean I'm very emotional but do I care about other people's emotions? No, just kidding. No, no, you do. I do think that you are really good at like the moments that I need to be checked on. Like, you know when to check in on me. Pisces are very deep. Yeah. Yeah. I'm not a surface level. Like, how was your day kind
Starting point is 00:24:48 of girl? No, but you will save the day. Like you will be the person that's going to swoop in and saved somebody's life yeah yeah moon moon and pisces is very very deep there's a lot of depth like you probably don't do small talk you probably don't do that kind of like oh how are you i'm fine you know you want like if you ask somebody with the moon and pisces if you're like how are you you want you want a real answer like you're not just asking we got so mad at her how's your heart she used to ask us that and we'd get so mad at her how's your heart how's your heart i know because I can't do small talk. Like a party makes me want to gouge my eyes out. Yeah. Yeah. I could, I could see that. I can see that. And then Kelsey, you also have your Venus
Starting point is 00:25:32 at 26 degrees Capricorn, which Venus is like your heart and what you, it's almost like your love language. I like to think of Venus as your love language. It's like how you love, how you receive love. And that's actually right next to Becca's son at 28 degrees, Capricorn. And so this is like a great relationship where there's like real heart in there. And you want like a real heart connection. And so it basically means you genuinely appreciate each other. And so you and in Capricorn, again, we have this like very grounded nature. It's another earth sign. And so there's like genuine stability and appreciation and emotional respect and understanding and all of these overlaps in your charts when we put them together jill would you say that i might be the
Starting point is 00:26:24 glue you're in the middle i i do i do i think that there is some some glue there yes what does it mean about me that i'm on the bottom of everything you're the i don't think because you're the most normal because you're the most normal i guess i am the taurus yeah i mean you're the taurus but your son at 23 degrees taurus it conjuncts kelty's midheaven which midheaven is what we look for for career that's the very top of your chart so when people are like what should i do with my life you're like look at the midheaven which starts the 10th house so this is like your life's work your career and so jack's son at 23 degrees taurus conjuncts Kelty's midheaven at 23 degrees Taurus.
Starting point is 00:27:11 So this means that Jack like naturally supports and elevates Kelty's career and public image. The trickle down fame. It was written in the stars. It was written in the stars. Wow. The trickle down fame and us getting together. And then honestly, let's be honest.
Starting point is 00:27:34 I've wanted to create a thousand things in my life, but you can't create anything unless it looks good and nothing i do looks good jack makes everything cool so that makes perfect sense actually yeah and her presence in your life is like directly tied to how the world sees you oh she gives you street cred she gives you street you're welcome i made you cool wow i mean i know that's true i know that's true i know that's a 100% true. Okay. That's so interesting. But yeah, it's really interesting just to kind of like see all of these overlaps. And like, even if you don't understand like 10,000, mid heaven, all these terms, it's, it's really rare in a group dynamic to be like, oh, wow, this isn't just
Starting point is 00:28:19 near it or in the same sign. This is at the same exact degree. Like your sun is at 23 degrees, your mid heavens at 23 degrees Taurus, you know, and then we've got the overlap of the moon and the ascendant in pairs. And so it's really cool. I have a question, Jill. You know, I like to skim. A few months ago, I heard that the entire thing was off kilter because the sun was in the wrong spot and the calendar was off and like no one's that an Aquarius is actually an Aquarius. Did you hear about this? I think I hear about it once a year for like the last 20 years. so do we need to worry about that because it got me up in arms I don't think we need to worry about that I know and then there's like there's always like something once a year that comes out there's
Starting point is 00:29:08 like a third 13th sign yeah you know in between Scorpio and Sagittarius and it's just like let's just stick with what we know and go with it clearly you can't blow this up now no yeah Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Exactly. And so and so it's it's worked for for many, many, many years. It's like, let's not rock the ship that's working. So yeah. And making sense. And so it's so dynamic. But yeah, I feel like there's always it's interesting. There's a lot of like, I won't say haters, but like a lot of know-it-alls in astrology, which I was like surprised by, especially once I started getting like big on Instagram, like we don't get like hate messages, but we get like, did you know, or this is actually like 6,000 years instead of 2,000 years, you know?
Starting point is 00:29:59 Oh, we're so annoying. Not the Karens of the spiritual realm. Yeah. Yeah. It's like super surprising. I'm like, okay. Well, I feel like you are, you sit at an intersection of because your background, like Kelty said, is neuroscience. Like you're a clinical researcher. Right. Was it Johns Hopkins? That was my last formal job. My last formal position was at, you know, before I went, like my last real job, you know, that was like nine to five. I was a neurogenetics researcher at Hopkins. So cool. So it's like, I can trust your woo-woo astrology because like you also are into science. So do you, as a spiritual teacher, what is like the most scientific explanation for why manifestation actually works? Because I loved the beginning of your book
Starting point is 00:30:53 was the first time I had that aha moment of like, we've trained our brain to see certain things. And like, I really, if you could go into that, I would love that. yeah yeah so um that's it's i want to condense it but basically we have this brain and we filter out tons of stuff so that we could literally survive and focus and so our brain wants to help us survive it doesn't care about manifesting our greatest vision or this big house or whatever we have to train it to do that its default mode is survival and like just let's just live till tomorrow, right? That's, that's what our brain was structured to do. And so because of that, it filters out tons of stuff. There's so much happening all around us all the time that we
Starting point is 00:31:40 filter out just so that we can have a conversation or so we can think about what we're having for lunch or when we were hunters and gatherers, how to like escape a tiger running after us or whatever. And so these filters are set on these like default modes that are usually programmed in childhood. Like if we grew up with lack, for instance, we have a scarcity mindset. And so our brain is going to confirm that we're always confirming our patterns. And so if we grew up with a pattern that there's never enough money, just for example, then our brain is always going to be seeking to confirm that pattern. So it's going to filter out abundance and it's just going to focus on, it's just going to scan for scarcity until we say, okay, I'm going to address this
Starting point is 00:32:25 pattern. I'm going to become aware of it. And I'm going to actually change my brain and direct my brain, take over the power of my attention. Our attention is our greatest resource. And so when we do things like intention setting, which is what I teach on the new moon, when we set intentions, what we're doing is we're programming our brain essentially. And we're saying, okay, this is the vision. This is the reality I want to live in. And this is how I'm filtering you. And then we layer in the nervous system regulation piece, which I've been really diving into like the last couple years. And I have, I run a course in the fall called Call It In Method. And it's all about this. Thumbs up on me. and so we actually can program our brain and the filter on our brain to a greater degree when we are relaxed when we're in parasympathetic so when we're you know in uh not stressed so we
Starting point is 00:33:21 have fight or fight and then we have you know rest and digest so we have these like different modes in our body and so when we're regulated in our nervous system through breath work meditation just catching yourselves and there's all these like devices now you can use to regulate your nervous system we have we can program our brain and our filters to a greater degree and so i love to say okay let's regulate the nervous system let's set intentions let's train the brain to say okay this is what's now my new pattern this is now comfortable because that's the other thing. Your brain wants to keep you safe. So when you start manifesting something new, it's like new, danger, scary. Like even if it's your greatest dream in the world, most of us will
Starting point is 00:34:09 self-sabotage ourselves until we become comfortable, until we train our brain that it is safe, that this up level is safe, that this next version is safe, that this abundance coming in is actually safe. It's amazing how many people like don't feel safe with even safety, you know, because they didn't grow up. Again, we're just like repeating and confirming these patterns we grew up with. And so I love to use intention setting visualizations to really train the brain while regulated in the nervous system, train the brain, a this vision is safe, when I start to manifest it, I'm not going to run from it, I'm not going to sabotage it. And, and, you know, we are going to program the brain to find opportunities, not threats, right? Because
Starting point is 00:34:54 your brain is set on this like default mode to scan for threats and you have to scan for opportunities. And when we start programming our brain for opportunities, we start seeing things that are like right in front of us. We never even like we're always there, but we hadn't seen them. So like, for example, I always have like a money scarcity thing. It's just always been something that, you know, I was this anxiety was built into me quite young. Not that we didn't have any. It was like my mom's relationship with money. And then I think maybe it's ancestral. I'm Jewish. It's just how we think. Yeah. So you're saying, you know, obviously you would do this where you're setting your intention, you're kind of retraining your brain. So it's
Starting point is 00:35:39 like now it's instead of like being out in the world and recognizing the abundance. So it's like I used to focus on, oh, my gosh, I have to pay this credit card bill. That means that my account is going to go down X amount and that bums me out. It's like, no, I'm very, look how, like how would I, how would I, I guess, like word that for myself to make it more of abundance instead of scarcity? Well, like an example like that,
Starting point is 00:36:05 you can be grateful that you have the money to pay the credit card bill, right? And so like gratitude is like the fastest, easiest way, like when in doubt, just like throw in some gratitude and that can help. But also like focus on all the different streams of income that you have that are coming in to help you pay the bills. And when you pay a bill, right, there's a certain gratitude that comes there too. Like, oh, I'm going to thank this.
Starting point is 00:36:30 Like, say you've got a handbag. I'm going to thank this, you know, company for making this handbag for me that is like lighting up my life, you know, and I deserve this. And also I find with people with scarcity, like one of the things that scarcity does to us, it's like an either thing. So we're like, oh, I can have this or I can have that. And so start really practicing like I can have this and I can have that. And so with scarcity, especially like scarcity that comes down from lineage, which most scarcity mindsets do, they come from our parents, our grandparents, their grandparents, it is passed down. And so you have to catch those little things like there's these little mantras, these little sayings that come up on repeat, you know, like I'll never have
Starting point is 00:37:19 enough or money comes in and money goes out or, you know, like who's the one, like my mom always said she was Catholic, but she would be like, God giveth and God taketh away. You know, like that was like something like I grew up with and I had to like catch that, you know, me saying that. And so I find when scarcity comes down the lineage like that, there's all these like little, you won't even realize it until you bring awareness to the pattern. And you're like, wow, I'm always saying this thing when I'm paying my bills, or I'm always saying this thing when an unexpected bill comes up. Instead of focusing on the abundance that you have to pay the bills and the abundance that's coming in, the gifts you have that create more abundance, right? So it's
Starting point is 00:38:02 like where you're tuning your attention to. So tune your attention to abundance and catch all those little things that we say to ourselves. The thing you just said that rocked me to my soul, I've been sitting here listening to it and being like, wait, rest and digest. I never knew there was an option besides fight or fight, fight or flight. Like my whole life has been I'm fighting or I'm flighting. Okay. I'm like running away from my responsibilities because I'm so over it or I'm like fighting it, rest and digest. Can someone make, Jack, can you make me a t-shirt? I, we just changed this to the rest and digest club gang.
Starting point is 00:38:46 Well, rest and digest. This is what I need. I need time to rest and digest my life. Digest what just happened. Digest my emotions. Usually normal people kind of know that that's an option. you're listening to the lady gang so your advice in the book in like creating the stillness and the space in your life to do that because realistically your day-to-day from wake up
Starting point is 00:39:23 to go to bed like i don't i realize you don't have time to rest and digest i didn't create but it's like we have to very consciously create that space for stillness so if somebody has like five minutes in their day to connect with their power, like what is the most high impact ritual to get them to that moment? Good question. I mean, it really depends on what works for you. Like you have to kind of try out different tools. And so I do in my course, I teach a lot of tools that help increase vagal tone, which not to get like into a whole nother scientific discussion, but you basically have this like huge nerve that runs down from your, your brain to through your body. It's called the vagus nerve. And when we have high vagal tone, we're, we're able to easily
Starting point is 00:40:15 shift into parasympathetic rest and digest. And so life will always happen, right? We'll always have chaos. We'll always have projects that need to launch. We have, I have kids, like nothing will dysregulate like a three-year-old having a tantrum. And so like things will happen. What you want is to have tools that you know that work for you that quickly gets you back into rest and digest. And the quickness of that is going to depend on your vagal tone. And so you can think of it like a muscle where you have to train it. And so it's going to be different for everybody. Like sometimes, you know, you could do three minutes of breath work where like the exhale is just longer than the inhale.
Starting point is 00:40:57 That's like a really simple one to try. For set a timer for three minutes, breathe in for a count of four, breathe out for a count of six, right? See how that makes you feel. For other people, like they're gonna need a walk without their phone, right? So like going outside without your phone for five minutes
Starting point is 00:41:13 and just taking a walk, right? Splashing cold water on your face is a great way to do it. Not the most fun, but very effective. So there's these like quick tools that you can do. Like, I have an essential oil that I'm always sniffing and breathing throughout the day. What flavor? What flavor? This one is actually called the Vegas Nerve Oil.
Starting point is 00:41:36 So it's actually done. Kelty's on Amazon. That's what I need. Yeah. Yeah. You also can do, like, there's lots of new technologies now, like PEMF mats that are, like, great. I'll also use sounds. I've been experimenting a lot with sound. And there's like certain filtered sound and megahertz
Starting point is 00:41:59 that you can listen to. Like I do this with my kid, I have this like sound protocol that I do with him that just helps like regulate his nervous system. And so it's like three minutes of listening to this like sound program that's filtered to help bring you into parasympathetic. So there's tons of different tools. And my recommendation, because it's, it's not a one size fits all, and is to experiment with different types of tools, and then have your go to and catch yourself and be like, okay, I just got this email, I just got this bill in the mail, my kid just had a tantrum, I'm going to use my tool. And I'm going to carve out five minutes. And then also what I found is when you're really busy is carving out time naturally in transitions. So in between work
Starting point is 00:42:47 and going back into like mom life, which is like for me, like I take 10 minutes in between shutting off, you know, clicking done on the computer and like going in and dealing with my kids, you know, and I sometimes I'll just like lay on my PM EMF mat and breathe for that 10 minutes. and then that like helps regulate my system in transitions. And so I found like in transitions are so important because when we rush from one thing to the other, like we context shift and then like our nervous system naturally is like, what is going on? I need to catch up. You're so right. I've noticed, you know, I think about like some of our busiest days, the three of us have been in New York City on a press tour and we're getting in the car and then
Starting point is 00:43:31 we're going to the thing and that like it, everything bleeds into one another. And then you lose the entire presence of the day like you're just in a swarm of energy and Kelty I think you naturally have the ability to do this every time we get into a car she literally powers down yeah and and they make fun of me but it's true it's like it's like it's my defense mechanism that I I can't like keep up the game I have to just it's like one time Jack and I and we always talk about this, but one time Jack and I were sharing a hotel room on tour or something and she was like, let's just chill for a bit. And I was like, we had like an hour and we're like, oh, let's decompress. And so, and Jack wanted to watch like court TV or something. She's like
Starting point is 00:44:14 just putting on daytime TV and I was like, oh, we can decompress by like, kind of just sitting around and watching TV. And she's just like, no, I actually just want to sit here in silence. And I was like, OK, yeah, but that's not how Jack like Jack is someone that likes a little background noise that helps her decompress. So everyone is really, really different. Yeah, everyone's different. Yeah, so OK, I really think you guys are going to like this in your book. You talk about heart intelligence versus versus soul wisdom.
Starting point is 00:44:46 This was a real because I get very confused with intuition. It's a complicated thing. I'm like, what am I listening to? Is this tricking me? So can you explain a little bit and maybe give some examples of how we're supposed to use each of them, heart intelligence and soul wisdom? Yeah. And so there's different levels of intuition. And then there's also your heart versus your soul. And I think I was in a point in my life I had heard and we all have heard, like, follow your heart, follow your heart.
Starting point is 00:45:15 And for me, I was in this position where I knew I couldn't follow my heart. like my heart wanted to go somewhere that I knew was not aligned with my life path. And so I think in a lot of ways, like your heart will draw you towards like what you love, what you want, what you what you need to feel fulfilled, almost like what I was describing about the Venus placement. Your soul, though, is this like higher wisdom that is like, oh, yeah, your heart is going to break, but, and you need to stay on this path. This is the path for your soul. This is your higher purpose. And so there can be a disconnect, which I don't think most people have ever heard that. And I certainly had it until I experienced it. Because again,
Starting point is 00:46:04 we're always like, follow your heart. There's brands that are called that. And it's great when your heart and your soul are in sync. But I do see them as like different forms of intelligence where your heart is going to go where you feel good and sometimes where you feel good isn't your higher path or what your soul is here to do and how do you know when your soul is kind of speaking yeah I think you know your soul your soul is speaking it just it kind of comes from like a more grounded place where you you understand the path and it's not seeking comfort it's not seeking to feel good it's not seeking instant gratification it's usually choosing like a path that you're like really do I have to like do that it's jack with her art I was literally
Starting point is 00:46:55 just thinking this I'm like I so I started painting over the last year and I am such I'm just so hard on myself and I'm such a perfectionist and I'm like I hate doing it but like but it like to my soul it feels right but like while I'm in the process I literally am like so self-loathing like the entire time that I'm like why am I torturing myself like I and then I think about the tortured artist I'm like I actually understand what that means but it's like my soul needs it like yeah I feel like I it is like my path but yeah with my heart I'm like does this actually make me feel good while I'm doing it like not really I just like I kind of hate myself but yeah, that's really interesting. Yeah. And I think that, I think a lot of people are like,
Starting point is 00:47:41 oh, when you find your purpose, like, you know, everything goes swimmingly well and birds fly and the rainbows come and it's like, oh, it's, you know, everything's aligned. It's like, no, no, it doesn't. It's like a spiritual journey, a spiritual awakening, awakening to your life path, awakening to your purpose. Like it's, it's hard. It's, there's no shortcut and it's usually not comfortable. And it's usually like, why am I doing this? But you know, there's something deep within you that is like, I need to keep doing this. It's like, you can't ignore it. Yeah. Well, listen, I, you're an incredible, and I love that you, we found out today that we are a sandwich of Lady Gang is a sandwich. Becca's the bun. I'm the bun.
