Each week, we catch up with Hollywood's hottest girl posse.
Starting point is 00:00:28 Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek. Hello, hello, hello. Welcome to Lady Gang. I'm Becca Tobin here with Jack Vanek and a very tan Kelty Knight. I believe this is a real tan from Hawaii, right? Am I really tan? Yeah. You are very tan. I mean, the amount of podcasts we have started commenting on the color of your skin is like unnecessary,
Starting point is 00:00:47 but this looks like a nice, fresh, like Hawaiian, tropic tan. You're looking good. I have been wearing so much sunscreen. this is a real tan i don't i think it's the lighting in here oh okay is it but you were in hawaii no i was in hawaii it was amazing um it looked beautiful it wasn't out in the sun that much i don't know i feel i don't know she just holds on to a tan so easily i mean i just i'm like velcro for an old lady tan and an old lady eye elbow you know what i mean i'm just trying to like stay relevant through old lady activities like just a little leathery skin you know i've
Starting point is 00:01:27 been watching a lot of real housewives of rhode island because i didn't ever watch it when it first premiered i feel like i had too much to watch so like now on this maternity leave i've been like binging housewives of of rhode island wait there's only one season right yeah yeah but those some of those women the tans oh it's insane and you can tell that it's a real tan because like the texture of the skin is quite specific for a real tan. It's Liz. Liz. She also openly smokes cigarettes. So I think also that might contribute. You know, she's not coming back, which is so horrible. I heard this. And yeah, you know, I have a lot of feelings about this. Should we get into it? Well, let's, you know, let's just jizz a little. Okay. I did you watch Jack? I casually
Starting point is 00:02:15 really watched like the beginning so I'll have an idea of what you're talking about I have found that this is the most fascinating study of humans like of all the of all the franchises you see people living on all different planes of reality and some of them can never match like the arguments that they get into are so clear that one person is actually right and the other person is crazy, but the crazy person refuses to see the crazy. And I think in other franchises, the other people that are actually crazy are a little bit like more aware of the craziness or like willing to see the craziness. And they, these people all just like gaslight each other and they never really come to like, it's a very, and I don't want to say that there's
Starting point is 00:03:05 a lack of intelligence, but I also can't not say it. You know what I mean? It seems like a little bit like the other franchises, like they know they're playing a characterized version of themselves yeah that this it's like this is just who they are and they'd probably be having those arguments without the cameras on for sure which is why it's so good but there's it's a beautiful study also in people some of the people that I'm like you've never even so much as touched therapy not even not even your algorithm hasn't even brought anything to your to your eyeballs that even is remotely like evolved in their therapized I think what makes Rhode Island so special is that it feels like, it feels like no matter where we go in Hollywood, someone is Hollywooding based
Starting point is 00:03:52 on something they've seen before. So it's like, even like when you get a new housewife on any franchise or like a new bachelor or a new dating show or a new season of Dancing with the Stars, like, you know, who was the breakout star of that. And so you're like trying to emulate that, emulate reality correctly so that you can get your fame. I feel like with Rhode Island, even though Jared and Ashley, even though they've been on Bachelor, so they should know better, like they, it feels like they're in a fishbowl and none of them has ever seen a reality TV show before. And I was like, no, no, no, don't say that. Cause they're going to air. Oh. And like, they're going to air it. Like this girl that has like, she's like a kept woman and then has a boy
Starting point is 00:04:40 friend and like it's just so i feel like they really like these people have never seen reality tv show before and it's yeah and then the fashion like you know you're gonna be a real housewife and like that is what you wear and you're that's your hot outfit for the confessional it's wild like did you have you not read a magazine like this is it this is the choice like liz and liz well liz was like serving in her confessional with the big chunky braid and her goblet like you know she actually her fashions to me were the most exciting yes um which I'm sad she's leaving but I also think maybe she's leaving because she had never seen an episode of this and had never realized that she couldn't really hide her insanity like she's it was is unable it's all
Starting point is 00:05:27 it's like being all shown and she's too afraid to kind of face it um I love Joellen so much She is a queen, a star, I mean, gorgeous, stunning. Say what you want about her. I love her. I think she's incredible. But yeah, it's, and Ashley and Jared, I, listen, I really like them. I've actually met them,
Starting point is 00:05:51 met them once at an event that we did together. And I thought she was the most charming person. But also when I left that experience, I was like, talk about the most low maintenance, like down home fun girl she is like the antithesis of a housewife and you can see it in the show like it's not that she doesn't present be she's a really stunning gorgeous but the fact that she's just she's too normal and she's she's not playing the game and she's too nice she's sensitive fun like is it fun for her to be at game night and be like oh i don't know or like i think it comes
Starting point is 00:06:29 kind of awkward yeah it's taking me out I don't want somebody there who's reminding me of how insane this is I want to be immersed in the insanity myself I don't want the straight man in that moment oh you know what it is you know what it is it's like when people are like you need to throw in like a normal person into the olympics to see the difference she's doing the five yeah to see the difference between like Michael Phelps and then how a normal person would swim like that's what Ashley feels like to me it's like just throwing an average not average she's beautiful and she's great on reality tv but she is not one of those women yeah you're so that's a perfect perfect analogy that's exactly what it is I'm really curious I hope they have
Starting point is 00:07:15 her back because I'm rooting for her and if she wants to go back but to me I felt like if I was a producer on this show I don't think I would have her back yeah yeah because also she's she's also a good person so her her her alliance with Rosie because Rosie's her friend that brought her into the group and they're genuine friends she's never gonna be able to give us the crazy drama she's not gonna turn on Rosie because she's a nice person and then she's not gonna become like it's just it's to me I will be surprised I'll be impressed I won't I mean I want to see it I hope the next season she's back and there's like something extra different but I love this everybody that was like oh I don't know how I feel about Rhode Island guys it's incredible
Starting point is 00:07:56 it's oh I feel like the feedback has been like amazingly good with it yeah I've heard like both but it is for everyone who's not watching so sorry it's time for good week yes it is bad week oh no um okay well I'll go I've been talking enough I'm sure you're not sick of hearing this voice but here I go um my good week is that I got a FaceTime yesterday from Miss Kelty Knight and it was a not an accident and b it was not even to see myself it was to see Meyer wow child her godchild and she did a really the godmother is godmothering and it was very sweet and it was so nice in all the years people will be surprised to know that in 10 years of lady gang Kelty has never facetimed me for something other than work
Starting point is 00:08:48 I was like wait I was like are you bitches talking business without me no no she literally we didn't even speak of didn't speak wow like I mean there was a mention of like today and talk and doing all the stuff tomorrow see you tomorrow wow Kelsey you're evolved I just wanted to see my godchild you know um and you know I waited I because I knew everyone would be bugging you when the baby first came home. And then I saw Becca's stories where she looked rough because she was saying she was not sleeping. And I was like, oh, damn, this girl, she needs some seeps. And then I was like, I feel bad. And then I don't I'm like, I don't want to bug you. And then I just decided, no, it is my right as godmother that I can see baby Meyer as
Starting point is 00:09:40 she grows. I needed to see her in and being so cute. She was asleep. She had a little yellow a mitten on. And it was annoying because Becca kept putting the phone on her own face. And I was like, no, no, this call is not for you. This is for baby Meyer. She's looking great. She's looking great. You know, she has a mitten on because she has, this is very common in premature girls. It happens in all babies, but it's very common. You know, those little like strawberry looking birth marks, they're kind of like red and raised. So she has one like right below her fingernail. It's called a hemangioma and I guess I have one on my leg oh you do so I guess they usually get they grow a lot like within the first year and then they start to like within a year 50 percent of
Starting point is 00:10:30 it's gone something something where it's like you don't normally have to deal with it you just kind of let it do its thing however hers is so close to her nail bed that I actually have to take her when I'm home in Austin to see the specialist because they need to make sure it's not going to fuck up her nails for life. Oh, no, no. You know what I mean? You need to be getting those man ears. I know. She's the most high maintenance baby. I mean, from the get, this child has been so high maintenance and they say the way you come into this world is the way that you're going to be. I am so, I'm so, um, but she'll be great. It'll be wonderful. I'm curious though, if any of the Lady Gang listeners had any of these, she has like one on her hip and one on her finger. So
Starting point is 00:11:07 stay tuned. How is she sleeping? She's okay. I mean, the NICU does a really good job of getting them on a tight schedule. I think I talked about this last time, maybe. So I didn't have to overthink any of that. Like it's every three hours, it's eating, it's a certain amount, it's blah, blah, blah. But I will say that she was basically in like utero this whole time. She's meant to be inside of a stomach. So it's just tomorrow's her official due date. And it's just now that she's starting to really wake up and like be aware of her surroundings. So the sleeping is getting a little bit harder, but it's fine. It's happening. And luckily I have a husband who's willing to wake up as much as I, or more as I am. And the second time around,
Starting point is 00:11:51 you realize how temporary it is. And with the first time it was like, is this ever going to end? Am I ever going to sleep again? Am I ever like blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. It's so much different now that even when I'm not getting a ton of sleep, I know it's coming. Yeah. I don't know, you know? Yeah. No, I totally get that. So that's my, that's my good week is that the godmother, she checked in. You know, sometimes I don't realize what a crazy I was for so long. It did take me until a mental breakdown, drugs, and being 44. But I do feel like you would be not surprised to know that i spent two and a half hours on the phone last night with my best friend she's having do
Starting point is 00:12:33 not marry the wrong person that is my advice to everyone do not marry the wrong person i have children with them and divorce them and then them be crazy um but like i have it in me i thought i'm that girl kelty you really do it's just you i'm soft i was just i was listen is work a mess absolutely am i so behind it's a disaster but guess what we're gonna be fine it's just like my iron sleeping. It's all temporary. You know, what's been very helpful and I'm not joking is knowing where I'm at in my cycle. And like, there are certain times of my cycle that I shouldn't be communicating with people, even my closest friends. I mean, Zach, it's inevitable and it's unfortunate that he still has to, but the week before my period, it doesn't matter who
Starting point is 00:13:17 you are, how wonderful you are. Like I will find a way to be irritated. And it's like, I'm not going to get on the phone with you the week before my period. I might even put an auto reply that one week a month and say, I'm in my luteal phase. I can't check back in a week. It's so crazy. But like now that we know so much, I, I used to be like, I don't believe that. Like, I don't think I'm that much different from week to week to week. Oh, I am. Oh, I am. Um, okay. My bad week. This is dark. I have been, and this is a little bit of an allegedly, but the Hayden Panettiere thing has been people I never met her I don't I did not know her but for whatever reason there's just certain things that just kind of like stay with you and stay with you throughout the day you
Starting point is 00:14:06 think about it you think about you think about it and that's one of the things and that's been so like maybe because in the middle of the night when I'm feeding Myra I'm on Instagram and I'm like doing all these weird things yeah but I people are bad people there are bad people out there and they're grifters and they're trying to make money and exploit this person who died. And I already made a post about like, we don't need to know from her director that she last worked with. He's like doing a three part. He did like a three part series on working with her and how she came and like wasn't in a right state of mind. I'm like, why are you airing this woman's dirty laundry? She's already passed away. We've already seen. But he like did and like got into
Starting point is 00:14:48 detail. Like it was just so inappropriate as somebody who should have been protecting her privacy. And so there's those people. And then there's this woman on my algorithm yesterday was she's some sort of witch, self appointed witch. She's on a walk and she's like, I had Hayden come to me. Her soul did come to me and it had a message. And I just felt like I blah, blah, blah. I opened myself up to the universe. Comment Hayden below and I will send you. No, like it was an amazon shopping link like it was a sub stack oh my god you guys i can't i it took everything in me to not write on there you're a sick person also like it's also like okay do you think when i pass away i'm gonna find some random instagram witch to tell her my message for me like you that's the
Starting point is 00:15:45 most disrespectful thing think about all the people who love Hayden and have met her and whatever and then there's this witch saying that she got a message from their friend or loved one I would have trouble not finding this woman's address and literally going and doing bad things not hurting her but maybe shitting on her front doorstep but I how can people be so awful it makes me so happy that I'm not in that side of entertainment news anymore because it was so it's been it was such a revelation for me especially during her passing to watch how because there are no I mean there's entertainment news shows now but like we we consume our entertainment media so differently and so it was like it used to be me in my having death dress
Starting point is 00:16:31 yeah doing you know oh and our lead story today is this and then we pull up all this old footage of her and we first met her blah blah and now it's like Jay Shetty like that's what was so crazy to me as I was like oh like the entertainment news ambulance chasey thing is like yes of course it still happens but because people are getting their content through podcasts and through Instagram that like now that's where that sort of yuck happens that's so you know it's like everyone and their mom people who actually talked to her people who didn't know her the witch from Wittrametzi. Like it's, it's a really interesting, like that used to be like the Wittrametzi would be the natural, natural, national inquirer. And that, you know, but now it's like, it's just so
Starting point is 00:17:19 different and it's, I don't know. It was, it was hard. Like I will say, not that this is about this, but I, I, we saw her at E! News like just right before it was canceled. So probably I guess a year and I'm like the only person that had a really like I was talking to Justin about yesterday because he called me I we had a very positive experience with her so I'm like well all these people are going out being like oh she was up she couldn't like blah blah I was like should we put her in her like like I feel protect of protective of this person I didn't know and I'm like oh everyone's being like that director being like oh she couldn't I'm like she was great to us. The whole thing about it, too, is like, I'm glad you said the Jay Shetty thing, because
Starting point is 00:18:06 I'm also glad I know there's people out there that are just like haters. And it's it can be annoying. Like, I get it. Like Mel Robbins cannot catch a break. Like there are just people everywhere waiting for her in the wings to fuck up or say something or whatever. And but then there are times that I'm like, yes, thank you to society for looking because I had the same feeling when I read Jay Shetty's, his comment or his caption for his post after Hayden died. And it was wildly self-centered. And it was like, I this, I that. You told me I was like a big brother and I made you feel so safe. I'm like, why on earth would you make it about you? And why on earth would you share such an intimate moment that you had with this woman that she didn't record on the
Starting point is 00:18:51 microphone? Anything she didn't record on a microphone and say that's okay to put out in the world why are you now bringing it to light when she's passed away that's disrespectful and that is gross and that is exploitative and it's just people are so gross and like so they like the way that they're taking advantage of something so incredibly tragic is so heartbreaking I'm like have these people never lost somebody in their lives could you imagine like hey Jay your sister just died and some random person she met for one hour is putting this on the internet like it just bothers me to a place I can't even describe and I won't need it to end what about the uh person that I sent you that was the actress that was crying that barely knew her and made the whole
Starting point is 00:19:39 entire thing about her it was so unhinged but I guess we could expect nothing less from somebody who was a child star but however it was her crying to camera I don't I want there to be like a police, a hall monitor on social media. There needs to be a hall monitor and they should be writing tickets. And I'm about to start writing some other tickets. Hey, asshole of the week. Here you go. Here you go. Here you go. Yeah. Okay. When we come back, my good week, bad week, where I reunited with my first ever real heartbreak. Oh, I was wondering about this. Starting point is 00:23:32 and now it's my turn i um have a good week bad week that is really wild and chris knight please don't listen to this actually he can i have nothing to hide okay so my good week is i went to hawaii to celebrate my one of my best friend christina perry turning 40 and she had this idea that she wanted to spend her 40th birthday with all of her best friends at a house in Hawaii. So she rented a house and invited us all, but it was no partners. So it was no, it was just the best friends. So it was, you know, all the girls. And then she has this guy, Elmo, that was in her band. And then her brother and hers relationship is on and off and they've been good for many years. So I kind of expected him to come for sure. But the, the backstory is that he was
Starting point is 00:24:22 was my first rock star in Rockstar's Rockettes Rock Bottom. We tried to figure it out on this trip. I think we only dated for two months. I loved this man. I was obsessed with him. I was so crazy for him, like so crazy. And then we broke up and Christina was like, well, I'm not getting rid of you. And we've now been friends for 20 years. So I have seen him over the years at different things she thankfully never had a big wedding so there was never that but like the kids birthday parties or I've seen him for five minutes at a barbecue hey what's up and we go our separate ways and like it's never it's never not weird like it's not weird because I'm fine now but there's there is like a very um there's a deep pass there like
Starting point is 00:25:14 there was like shit happened you know and we did have all dinner once together with Christina and chris was there and chris got kind of puffy like he got kind of like wait he was there too no no he wasn't at this he was like this is before chris and i were even married we went to a dinner for christina and her brother and his girlfriend or wife was there and chris and i were there and chris got kind of like puffy around him because like christina's brother is so he like is so enmatic is the word like he's just he's like he is kind of like john in the main jack where he's like you just said you don't even look like you belong on earth like you're just like this like special sauce of a person that you're like are you like meant to be here you don't look normal
Starting point is 00:26:02 like you're just you have like just a riz about you anyway so i'm like okay so i'm dreading i'm so excited to go on this trip but i'm a little bit dreading it because i'm like this is not going to be fun for me. I'm going to have to like just be. Did Christina tell you he was going to be there ahead of time? Yes. Yeah. Yeah. No, I knew. And we were on a text chain and we were like prepping like, hey, let's all go to dinner. And then we had a separate text chain with everyone that was going being like, OK, birthday dinner here. Let's get this present. Like we were all fine. But like, again, I didn't even know what phone number is his because I don't have his number saved in my phone. You know what I mean? When you were prepping your outfits, were you
Starting point is 00:26:44 prepping a little bit extra? Not at all. I brought nothing. I don't like that. I don't care about Christina's so low key. I mean, I prepped, I brought a one piece swimsuit. I wasn't like trying to like, oh, I got to like impress at all. So that I think tells a lot about where I am in my life that I was just like, I think I still wouldn't have been able to do that. Good job. Me neither. I literally was like, let me bring like my kimono, my muumuu, and like an ugly sweat pad. I showed up in like braided pigtails and a spiritual gangster sweatsuit and was like,
Starting point is 00:27:20 I'm here, like with my glasses. Like I didn't, I wasn't trying at all. Very impressive. I know. I didn't even get a spray tan. I really don't, I didn't care. I mean, it's, you know, I didn't want to, you know, tempt any, I'm just kidding. So anyway, with my hotness.
Starting point is 00:27:34 Is he married now? So he was married, divorced and now has a girlfriend. He's got a daughter. Anyway, so we get there and I'm like, OK, just don't make this weird for Christina. Like, it's going to be fine. And I get settled in and I walk out to the kitchen and he's there and I'm like, oh, hey. And then we're like, oh, my God, look, you look so great. Cut your hair. like we're like kikiing like we're at like you know the welcome party at someone's wedding and it's the high school reunion you haven't seen each other for 15 years and I was like whatever and then I like go off and there's 10 people so I'm like now I'm in the pool I'm hanging out whatever and our mutual friend is like is it ever weird when you guys are together and I was like no it's not weird and she's like it was kind of weird okay fast forward then the most magical thing happened which is the thing that like you know when you have like that epic twin well Becca
Starting point is 00:28:30 doesn't know but like okay that epic heartbreak of your life and you always wonder not what could have been but like do they regret it do they like do they think about it what could it be like why didn't it work out at the time you're like so heartbroken and you're like if I could just fast forward and see how my life would turn out that I wouldn't spend so much time crying over this person. And I had that happen like in real time on this trip. And it was like the most healing thing of all time. Like it was so fun. So eventually the weirdness wore off and we had this one night where we're all like out on the deck and he's like playing guitar and singing songs that we sang and Christina singing and I'm singing. I'm like, this is like healing something
Starting point is 00:29:17 in my soul and then we had like the best conversations like we just sat and like visited and like talked about the music business and talked about life and talked oh my god if we could go back and like it was everything you would ever want about like just a clearing of your soul of like I don't know it was really really so fun and amazing and it was just not that there was like any bad vibes there wasn't a vibe ever but i was gonna say was there a vibe like uh were you attracted to him no i mean because like this is what i'm saying is that like now i get to see him and what he's doing at this point in his life listen like this is a gorgeous man he's gorgeous but like i'm looking up a picture i need a visual so badly can you show it to me okay but like he's
Starting point is 00:30:07 he's really gorgeous he's gorgeous in the way christina's gorgeous like they're italian they haven't aged they've got tattoos like they're just cool people you know yeah but it's like he loves his hairless cat and he's like talking about his hairless cat and like he's a touring musician and like all these things and I was just like oh like I I never I don't want to disrespect Chris and be like oh I was just wondering if he was my person oh well that looks like jared yeah oh yeah this is oh yeah he's like cute you know sorry this is like so mean there's a vibe i don't want to disrespect chris at all because i know chris is my person but it actually cemented that chris is my person because i i was like next to this person that i
Starting point is 00:30:52 lusted after that i thought was so hot that has such riz and i was like oh like i can really appreciate all those things about you and I see why 20 year old Kelty was so gobsmacked over you yeah but like adult Kelty is like I just missed Chris Knight the whole trip I was just like dried my vagina right up thank you Sphinx cats yeah died like he's like oh I work on my I work on my car and you know it was just like yeah it was just you know like I was just like oh we're not we were never the right people for each other. You have accepted that you weren't each other's people. And it was like, yeah, there was like, you know, that rom-com movie where you could like fast forward and see what was going to happen. Yeah. Like we would have never, not that I ever
Starting point is 00:31:40 thought that, like, I obviously love Chris Knight. Is this making sense? No, of course. Yeah. My worst nightmare would have been like, what happens if I get there and I'm still madly in love with this person? Like that would be a terrible feeling. And so to go and realize that you aren't and that you're even more cemented in the fact that you're with with the right person like what a relief because you never know you never know if like old Kelty in her 20s is gonna like something's gonna drum up or whatever because it can happen yeah I think that's what happens when you're in the nostalgia of it I was gonna say yeah just nostalgia alone it would be hard to not even if it's like you're not attracted to him now to not have those feelings to remember then
Starting point is 00:32:25 like that's it's an interesting position to be put in there's so many things you need to buy and think about when you have a baby including car seats so if you're in the market like me let me tell you about our friends at Nuna they're engineered to exceed federal safety standards with rigorous crash testing built into every stroller and car seat we love Nuna since Ford was born almost five years ago we've had a Nuna stroller and car seat we recently switched to the Nuna Rev Max car seat the one that rotates it has been a complete game changer all you moms out there, you know how difficult it can be to get your kid into the car seat. Well, when you can just turn it towards you, put your kid in, strap them in, turn it back. Wow. My shoulders are so

That's Nuna, N-U-N-A baby.com. So just last week, I was with my nutritionist, Elizabeth, and she was yelling at me and saying,
Starting point is 00:33:39 babe, perimenopause, you got to lift heavy weights and you need more protein every single day. And I'm like, I'm so sick of trying to eat protein. It's annoying. I've got other things I want to do. But that is why we are so obsessed with Clean Simple Eats. Now I talked at great lengths on this podcast about their protein water, which is delicious and in my fridge right now. But if you're in the market for a new protein powder that actually works and tastes good, Clean Simple Eats uses grass fed whey protein isolate that's both high quality and highly effective. A lot of these protein powders are just junk. And that is why Clean Simple Eats is so good. So just to explain this whey protein isolate is a complete protein with a full amino acid profile
Starting point is 00:34:20 Remember we talked about this before on a podcast like a year ago We're like you can take all the protein in your world But if you don't have the amino acids, then it doesn't build muscle and you don't boost your metabolism and you don't stay healthy Okay. So anyway, clean simple eats uses no artificial color sweeteners and they're incredible. So go check them out Clean simple eats is undeniably clean and 100 delicious shop the best tasting protein powder at clean simple eats.com You are listening to this podcast, so I know you've got a curious mind. I think what was so cool about it is that like there'd be times where we would all be hanging out and like Christina would say something and then and he would say something and I would catch
Starting point is 00:35:49 his eye because he's so weird and like nerdy in the same way that I'm nerdy and like I would only catch this thing and we would laugh at each other and we'd look away and then we'd look at each other again to make sure each other got it and it was kind of this special thing and we ended the trip we had this like really crazy end of the trip where I I'm just gonna tell the whole story this is like very please do not take this on reddit and make it about other boyfriends but I had a situation with with Christina's brother where a bunch of years later he you know listen he was 20 he was in a band he was drinking a lot he had called me to apologize many years later about the way he treated me like an amends if you would call it if you were doing the program
Starting point is 00:36:31 and I you know it was many years later and he randomly called me on the phone and it was the it was such a beautiful thing and he was like I'm so sorry about the way I treated you I've you know and so we were good after that but by the end of the trip like we were having all these you know you're on a trip you're having all these conversations with everyone and I was like I want to ask you something you know when you called me and made this amends with me it was so healing for me because I was like oh you were a dick to me you knew you were a dick and you apologized and now I can let that go. But I've had other people in my life
Starting point is 00:37:02 that have been in similar situations that got into alcohol, got sober, whatever I've heard through the grapevine that have not called me to make amends. I would love to know why. Like why didn't I ever get that from those other people? And he was like, okay, well, there's a couple of reasons. Number one, this person might be a pussy,
Starting point is 00:37:22 like they're a coward. Number two, they don't remember treating you poorly or it never registered to them three they they actually think that it would be so hard on them to amends you that it would cause them to lose their sobriety in some way like sometimes it's better not to make the amends because if they're gonna spiral like they have to keep their own self you know whatever and we had this great we had this really great conversation I was like it's really nice to like just know that and they're like it's not that you probably don't deserve it but like people are in their own shit and like it doesn't not everyone who gets sober goes and
Starting point is 00:38:01 makes amends yeah there's also something in it that where if it's gonna actually be harder on the person or like drum up trauma for the person that they're apologizing to like they don't do it then it also so maybe that's it too yeah so anyway but it was really nice and then at the end of the trip we just kind of like had this look we list we're talking to each other and we're like you know it's like really nice to know that we still have this special connection like there's just something about like it's like people you went to high school with you know you like you go to your high school reunion and you see them it's been 25 years but you're just like Jamie like and like you just pick up where you left off I was like it's really nice to know that we have this
Starting point is 00:38:42 like special connection and that's never faded like there's just something there but like we can just appreciate it now and it was it was so nice and I wish every girl on the planet got the chance to fast forward 25 years and see that first great love that broke their heart in the now and like be so cool with it it was sorry I know that was a very long story no it's so true and also it's I think more than anything yes you have absolutely evolved and grown but had you or any other woman been in the exact same situation but in unhappy in her current relationship you would have been able to talk yourself back into feeling all those feelings for the ex you know like that's a testament like you're saying to like how you and Chris are so solid and he's your
Starting point is 00:39:33 person like it's because it's our brains are crazy we could talk ourselves back into loving falling back in love with some of those people yeah because like a person like that was in that situation they were talking about would take that connection and be like we're flirting I have butterflies I must make out with him right now he is the person that I've always been in love with and I'm going to blow up my life for this moment. It's like having like a vacation boyfriend almost. Yeah, and I know. And I like, I don't even want to have this conversation
Starting point is 00:40:02 because I don't even like, I would never want, I mean, Chris will hear it. But I was honest with Chris too. Like I, like it was the most beautiful thing because yes, I've been married a long time and you're like, I'm out in Hollywood and I'm always joking. And I'm like, what if I married this other person?
Starting point is 00:40:20 How would my life be or whatever? And I, I literally, even over the past two years and all the different ways I've tried to blow up my life, this was such a beautiful moment to be like, there is nothing worth losing Chris. Like there's nothing, there is not a single thing that would be worth me being that girl, you know? And like, that was so powerful. And then I, I always wonder like, sorry, lady gang to get so deep, but I always wonder how Chris is traveling around the world. And he's always with like all these hot people and models. And I'm like, how are you not like everyone and like finding another wife who's fun and cool and sexy and on the road with you? Like, I just don't like you're a man, like we're away, you're away
Starting point is 00:41:06 all the time. And then like, I, I just not that I don't ever really put myself in those positions. You know what I mean? Cause I'm mostly just in my house, but like, I wasn't, not that I was in a position. Yeah, I got it. But you were in a situation where I mean, not that I even had that opportunity, but like there I could have blown up my life. And I was like, oh, no, he probably acts the exact same way I did, which is like there's nothing worth blowing up my life. Like there's nothing on this planet that could cause me to hurt Chris that much. And so then every single person who goes and steps outside of their marriage or their relationship or breaks trust with someone like you there's a weakness there because like if you really love someone
Starting point is 00:41:50 you're not gonna you're really you you not that I have I did not have to stop myself I never even thought about it but like well you're imagining the the situation in which that you you could yeah and I was like I just would never I would never hurt Chris like that um anyway I I mean Chris I think assumed he would be there I didn't know if he knew I didn't say anything beforehand because also like this whole trip was very flaky and I was like I don't know who's going to be there I didn't want Chris to have to sit at home and be like Kelty's in Hawaii with her best friend and you know so but then afterwards I was like it was great and it was really funny and there's a guy named Elmo who is Christina's drummer and Chris and him used to be in competing bands when
Starting point is 00:42:32 they were in high school so Elmo was actually named his name's really Christopher he was named by Chris. Christopher was named Rockstar. And there was a third guy named Snake. And they were all friends together. And they were all in like little indie bands. So anyway, I was with Elmo the whole time. And so we were texting. Anyway, long story short, it was just like a really beautiful experience in like, looking back at what you thought was going to kill you when you were 22 years old. Like, I just never thought I'd be okay again. And God, you know, now you love hairless cats. Like, like we could never be together for that fact alone. No, there was like a dog at the airport and I bent down to pet it and he had no reaction. I was like, oh my God.
Starting point is 00:43:18 Not my fault. And it was so beautiful to celebrate Christina and her 40th birthday. And it was like so magical. I loved spoiling her and she's so special to me. And that's it. Okay. Sorry. That's so nice. Did you have a bad week? My bad week was just that I had to experience that. It was kind of awkward. Oh. What did Chris say when you came home?
Starting point is 00:43:41 Nothing. He's so cool. Like, I was just like, yeah. And I kind of started being like, and I had this really nice moment with Nick and he was like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, he didn't want to hear it, you know. And then I had crazy sex with him all weekend. Like, it was fine.
Starting point is 00:43:54 Good for you. Oh, she got turned on from the trip. Wow. Yeah. Good job. No. you know what I got turned on by what I'm sorry our sponsor it's called Aura and it basically sends you like a sexy it's a whole thing and it sends you a box of like toys and then you take a
Starting point is 00:44:11 quiz they take a quiz and then it has this little app and it teaches you like oh this week like this month is heat and it's like gonna send you a massage candle and like all this stuff anyway very fun and I know what wasn't fun what is I had it sent to Atlanta because I've been here for the week. And luckily it's very, very what's called discreet packaging. There's like nothing on there. You'd never know. However, there was a finger vibrator that came, which is lovely, but it comes in a box with a lot of like visuals of like how you can use it. There's like literally like the finger with the butthole. And I, so I was like, how am I going to dispose of this box? So what I just did today was the craziest thing you've ever seen, like breaking bad style, ripping up,
Starting point is 00:44:56 shoving the pictures into a diaper, in a dirty diaper, into the garbage. Because I was like, this is, oh my God, this is so embarrassing. You're like, you can't have Ford accidentally take the paper and start playing with it. I know. It was just so, but yeah, it's cool. It's really cool. It's like a non-cheesy way to spice things up. I love it. Yeah. Okay. Jack, good week, bad week. Longest good week, bad week of all time. I'm going to forgo my good week, bad week because Kelty's was 40 minutes long. Sorry, as was mine. Mine was quite long today, too. Listen, sometimes you got to talk. Big weeks. Very big weeks. So I'll save mine for next week. Jack's like, oh, you know what? I'll give you a good week. Okay. I'll give you a good week for
Starting point is 00:45:41 you. I was texting with our friend Sharon Stone. I'm going to read it to you. And I was checking on her and I was like, how are you doing? And I said, by the way, Jack is doing art now. And she goes oh wait this is amazing and she goes send it to me I want to see what she's doing and I sent her the print shop and I sent her the picture that I bought with the hands and she goes oh nice she's processing color theory and it's very good it's like a South American style I like it a lot wow so that's your good week wait that's so sweet and I am processing color theory what does that even mean it's just like figuring how how colors work together and it's so hard i'd be so bad at that wow i'd be so bad i'm pretty bad based on this tan alone and this hair color and this lip
Starting point is 00:46:29 color i know that i'm bad because i can't like i don't when i watch those color analysis on instagram i never know what's what's right or wrong what looks right what looks wrong i don't know i don't ever never all right well we'll see you next tuesday see you next tuesday lady gang is hosted and produced by kelty knight beckett tobin and jack vanek with social media support from collie carrera audio and video editing from jared monaco and additional support from steve delameter and podcast one lady gang it's kelty i would love to see you on my book tour this fall it's gonna be a really cool intimate chat i'm gonna do celebrity moderators music in some cities i'm gonna do a little self
