Starting point is 00:00:00 Hi, I'm Barbara aka your nursing educator on Instagram. I'm a registered nurse and I create content to help nursing students feel ready to take on anything and everything that comes with the job and trust me it's a lot. Here's one of my favorite and simplest pro tips. Upgrade your scrubs to figs. Figs are designed for us. They are super soft, lightweight, and breathable with four-way stretch to keep up with your every move. Polished professional silhouettes? Check. Functional details and pockets in all the right places, check and check. No matter what your day has in store, Figs has layers to match. Their underscrubs are perfect on their own or as a lightweight base layer to help keep you cool and dry.
Starting point is 00:00:40 And when the temperature drops, their outerwear styles are made for everything from chilly commutes to freezing hospital hallways. If you're in healthcare or love someone who is, check out Figs. Head to wearfigs.com and use code FIGSCA for 15% off your first order. That's wearfigs.com, code FIGSCA. in our breakfast each morning on their highly successful podcast and show, The Morning Toast. Verbal icons? Check.
Starting point is 00:01:31 Fashion icons? Check. Instagram game changers? Check. Wears PJs on stage and sells out shows across the world? Check. Has endless collections of over-the-top designer clothing? Check. We've appeared and they've appeared on various versions of each other's show, but for the first time ever, it's the crossover
Starting point is 00:01:48 event of the century, and it's available to you in podcast form, and I have ideas on the title. ladies who eat toast the morning lady toast gang or simply the spice girls get ready for the last vaginas on the radio to come together and please you let's welcome claudia and jackie or it's not that hard we pronounce our own last name incorrectly so we don't correct anyone else when they say anything you know the true jewish pronunciation is ushery but we're not gonna say that so it's ushery yeah we're like gentrifying ourselves yeah bringing it to
Starting point is 00:02:21 america it's very lithuanian also we did introduce this like we've never done this before we but we did this kind of recently becca wasn't there oh you weren't there oh well never mind it's like you're not even a part of the lady i barely pay attention so the reason that this is out of order today for our special guests is because we want them to do good week bad week with us but we can't do that until becca tells us it's time okay well it's time for good week yes it is bad week oh no all right i'm kicking it off um my bad week is that i believe that tiktok might be the demise of lady gang i am concerned because kelty is using tiktok now as another form of a job and it's a lot so every night she goes home and instead of winding down she learns choreography
Starting point is 00:03:12 and she's posting and every moment of every day now when we should be thinking about things like promoting our book our clothing line the podcast
Starting point is 00:03:21 all these things she's worried about what TikTok we're gonna do next I also have been staying in a hotel room with Kelty and the amount of time
Starting point is 00:03:28 that we both mindlessly scroll through the feed of TikTok is bad it's really alarming how 45 minutes just flashes by flashes by
Starting point is 00:03:36 when you're on TikTok it's dangerous but we've recently discovered that I'm a Kelty so I totally relate like I get home from a long day and I'm like learning the renegade I I totally respect the hustle and TikTok could really change
Starting point is 00:03:46 my brand I think it could change yours like I'm really proud of you I don't know if that's true Claudia I'm telling you you're so you know you're not seeing the big picture Becca there's so much here but I also think that because you guys are professional dancers like you are poised for success on TikTok like I do want to see you guys dance yeah how many professional dancers do we have in our age bracket that are really killing it I just feel like our age bracket is not feeling represented and we need you guys i i would definitely feel as though seeing some of you guys shake that thing on tiktok would make me personally as a woman who's 25 feel represented on tiktok okay all right well it's actually a good week thanks i have no allies here but that's
Starting point is 00:04:22 fine no i hear your concerns and i do i do wonder about that too but we just can't stop the tiktok force that's claudia have either of you gone viral on tiktok yet um i thought you'd ask that and yes we both have actually what was your buy what is viral how many views so I average like a little under a hundred thousand views for some of my videos okay that's dramatic like between 50 and 100 and this one that I that I went viral on it got almost 400 and it ended up on Ellen with Charlie D'Amelio and Dixie D'Amelio like talking about it wow I can't believe that's the one that went viral I know it's so dumb I put no effort no effort I literally learned to dance for six hours no one cares I crack an egg for 10 seconds genius same the one that I went viral
Starting point is 00:05:01 Before it was my weirdest, worst one yet. I got 400,000 views. It has like almost 200,000 likes. And it was just, I was writing an email late at night. And whenever, I'm so cringy and awkward in general, but especially when I'm writing an email. Oh, I like this one. A professional email.
Starting point is 00:05:16 And I was writing like, hi, great to be connected. It was someone that I knew who was reaching out about her company. And she wanted me to do something sponsored. But I needed to put her in touch with my agent. And it was just like so awkward. And I was like making faces as I was writing the email. and I was like, oh, I guess this is good for TikTok. So I just filmed myself and then I posted
Starting point is 00:05:34 and I was like so embarrassed, but I went to sleep and forgot about it and I woke up and I had gone viral and I was like, never would have guessed in a million years. Wow. The worst it is. But everyone was commenting like, oh yeah, like when I emailed my professor,
Starting point is 00:05:45 I was like, yeah, that's what I'm doing. Same, same, same. They're wearing crop tops and they have a lot of jeans with camel toes. Yeah, Hydro Flasks. Yeah, Hydro Flasks, geez. Okay, well, that was my bad week still. My good week is occasionally I find
Starting point is 00:06:00 a new drink at Starbucks and this week I've discovered the medicine ball oh the medicine ball is the shit
Starting point is 00:06:07 it's so good it's hot lemonade with like three different types of teas hot lemonade and honey it's the best if you're sick
Starting point is 00:06:14 like it is the only thing that I need when I'm sick it's delish and normally we're not supposed to do like shout outs
Starting point is 00:06:21 of like things we discover it has to actually be like something that happened in our week but it was such a high of my week
Starting point is 00:06:25 and I recently called out not recently when we started the lady gang I talked about the London Fog at Starbucks and that really went viral for me. What's the London Fog?
Starting point is 00:06:35 I've never heard of any of these things. Are these like off the menu? Secret items. It's like the Flying Dutchman at In-N-Out. What's that? Or they just smack a patty on your hand. They don't have In-N-Out in New York. It's so hot. The Flying Dutchman.
Starting point is 00:06:51 That's one of the logistics behind the third degree burn. Nothing is more mortifying than when they ask if you want to lap Matt at the drive-thru at In-N-Out. have you guys like yeah oh my god i've never heard what's up oh we don't have drive-thru right oh yeah it's horrifying and having to answer yes of course is i will be eating three of these burgers nothing my car and crying nothing's more humbling than accepting a lap mat that's the one thing i don't like about living in new york is no drive-thrus there's actually one mcdonald's on
Starting point is 00:07:18 the west side highway like on 35th street and 11th that has a drive-thru and i've definitely been there like late at night but it's not enough it's not it's not enough you need more yeah definitely congratulations on your new drink should we alternate like a toast yes i think okay i'll go first do we do bad week first because whatever you want okay but i think it's good to do like the bad no good i usually do good good okay good first is that this week claudia and i went to la and i love la like everyone who watches our show knows that we are like born and bred new yorkers but i can't stand it here i'm looking for any chance to leave and we just had such a fabulous weekend in la like pretending that we're celebrities and it's weird because like we go
Starting point is 00:07:57 we are 48 hours and like our stock just rises like we are just better in la yeah and i really needed that hit of la you know to get us through the rest of this new york winter good for you what'd you guys go for we had a meeting and we also it was also a great meeting yeah it was very prestigious like everything happens for us in la and then we went to a fabulous event with fabulous celebrities and we were front row at the jonas brothers who performed at this fabulous event and the whole thing was just so fabulous it's a women's cancer research fund which is like a fabulous event that does fabulous work but they throw this fabulous soiree and they have a performer every year and they gave us literally front row seats and it was the jonas brothers and
Starting point is 00:08:33 it was like literally a private concert no i was up in their crotch everyone else stayed at their tables pretty much but our back our seats at our table were like our back was to the stage so we just turned around it was just the five of us in the room it was so personal fabulous were they like there's some girls and i'm gonna play off them and stuff uh nick jonas give me the microphone and I was like I'm puffing my chest I'm getting red and then he took it away but it was fabulous yeah no it was exciting and that stuff just doesn't happen to us in New York we go to many events and they're not fabulous they're actually in the words of Emma Roberts unfabulous exactly then something unfabulous that happened to me my bad week was we were in the car with
Starting point is 00:09:16 Theo who's Claudia's son um and he's also a dog because most people think how dare you about him that I know how dare you mention because this wouldn't happen to a human yeah because they would be wearing a diaper but I'm pretty sure that while Theo was on my lap he exposed expressed his anal glands expressed his anal glands on your fabulous jacket on my fabulous pink coat which I went to wear today and I just couldn't look at it the same did you send it to the dry cleaner no but now I will because if I'm not going to wear it again like I have to say I just want to say in defense of Theo I have seen him express his anal glands I have smelled him express his anal glands and this was nothing of the sort it was a really unfortunate incident where he was just
Starting point is 00:09:55 sitting on jackie in a really weird way where i think his tail was up and i think his butthole just like grazed her coat and left some excrement yeah well i have learned today that the anal gland whatever it the expression is just this whole it's very complex very complex different smell than a poop yeah and it's also different color so it was a shit stain so shit for lack of a better there was a shit it was a skid mark it was shit it was a skid mark yeah that's not an anal gland juice it's sorry it was clear it smells so that's how i know and it smells like fish it smells like well it's like bacterial vaginosis yes some would say he just shat on me no i think he just skid on you he wiped yeah he didn't he didn't wipe before i love him just the same but i will say i actually
Starting point is 00:10:46 love him more wow because it wasn't you yeah okay i'm gonna go jacqueline so my good week one of her lady gangers is in college and she was this a by proxy because you're not allowed to do these anymore it's not what's a by proxy a by proxy is when jack's like okay there's this story i'm gonna tell someone else actually oh whatever they don't like it they personally i've gotten lots of emails i haven't told you yet it's on a list of things to tell you when we get back to la so this one of our lady gangers is in college and she went to a frat party and when she walked in mind you these guys are 20 there is a massive six foot poster of me on the wall that's okay and i will show you guys because it is so epic me oh where's that photo from um so i do like a
Starting point is 00:11:33 collaboration line with zoomies and like when i first started it they had like a massive poster of me wearing the clothes like promote the clothes so somebody must have worked at zoomies when it was done for like the promotion taking it down and taking it and put it in their frat house are you wearing a bra probably not that's why it's hung up i don't think i'm wearing a bra in that picture but all the guys say that i'm the hottest girl at the party oh my god 10 years they're senior and you're not even at the party probably more than 10 years i am 13 years 85 years okay my bad week that weirdly makes me feel hotter what why that your picture was up because it's like a woman of our age yes yeah for me yeah they're not age
Starting point is 00:12:17 discriminating you know love to love love to see it okay so my bad week is i've been using these menstrual discs yeah not the cup they're like a disc and they have it's called flex flex is that like the diva cup no it's not it's similar concept it's more like you know the nuva ring it's like a shape of a nuva ring but it has like a little pouch at the bottom you like stick it in and then the blood just like fills up yeah so i was using it for the first time first day of my period in the morning i put it in on the box it says that you might have leakage when you pee because when you have like your your pelvic muscles it pushes out whatever i have it in and i was drinking some coffee i have an early morning conference call it's in there and you
Starting point is 00:12:57 know like when you have to poop but you like you're kind of testing to see how much you have to poop yeah on the toilet out no like i was sitting on my couch being like do i have to poop if i get up and go will i even really have to that's what theo does sometimes like it could be just a fart or it's a false alarm yeah i'm like i don't know if i should like try to get to the bathroom before or like wait until after the conference call so i didn't realize that it's like the same muscles when you pee and i like went to push to see if i had to poop and then blood just went down my entire legs all over my f***ing couch
Starting point is 00:13:29 you gotta get Folex do you have it it's the best cleaning agent of leather I used it on suede the other day I've never heard of it it's suede from Amazon sorry like it's not real suede is that weird I have a question for you
Starting point is 00:13:45 when that happened to you did you think to yourself oh I'm gonna put this in the podcast for my bad week like how does that work when you're so used to doing good week bad week um i thought about it because i had blood running down my legs right so this is a bad i thought it could be pretty good i just think everyone needs to stick with tampons perfect formula well somewhat perfect like i know good i've tried the diva cup i've tried this very uncomfortable for me really it feels like there's a little mini hot dog in there and i can feel it all times because
Starting point is 00:14:12 there is short cervix you don't but a diva cup is not it's so much better i don't think that's your cervix a tampon doesn't go in your cervix i do think she's right a tampon does not go in no not cervix but my no my vaginal cavity your canal your birth canal so it's always poking out a little i can't get a short enough one i mean by the way you know israeli tampons are tiny like they you should have them shipped from israel i'll never forget like being on a trip in a tent and needing a tampon and it's not wrapped in anything and it's literally two inches what if you have a heavy flow that doesn't exist in israel only the american girls would you like to go good week bad week oh yeah um okay my good week bad week also my my good week stems from our trip
Starting point is 00:14:55 to la but more specifically our flight home um so i travel to la and i don't travel with theo which is really hard because we are one one we are just together all the time and on our flight home we were sitting in the delta sky lounge and i said to jackie i'm gonna go pee and then we'll go so i went to pee and i'm coming back and i see this king charles cavalier which is a breed that's what theo is but i also have a really special connection to the brand the breed and the brand and we also grew up with one so like it's just this thing and sometimes they're like kind of ugly and like that and i don't really like them but this one was perfect and he looked just like the i want to give him such a big hug and the owner was like this very lovely refined
Starting point is 00:15:30 woman she looks like so hampton she looked like diane keaton and something's gotta give and i was like can i pet him and she was like yeah and he was so cute and he was loving me and i'm like what's his name and she's like lancelot i'm like what she's like lancelot i'm like Lance I'm like okay so we were just calling him Lancelot then it turned out he was on our flight and it was just making me so happy because I was so homesick and she was sitting right behind us and she went up to go to the bathroom and the dog was with her and me and Jack are like is she gonna take the dog to the bathroom I've never flown with the dog and I don't know what the logistics are if you're alone and you have to pee so we said we were like hi we'll take Lance a lot
Starting point is 00:16:01 like while you pee and she was like oh my gosh thank you so much and we spent the most fabulous three minutes with him like just being so happy and we have this picture together it's so cute and it was really like the best part of our whole trip it really was and it made you realize that Like, you should and could be traveling with Theo. Yeah, it's because I have all this great, like, memories and fun times when I'm traveling. And at the end of the day, all I want to do is run home to my dog. It, like, ruins trips for me. So maybe if I start bringing him, I'm just like.
Starting point is 00:16:24 Well, but I have a question for you. He's never flown. How old is he? Three. Okay, he might still be young enough to introduce the plane to him. But if you wait too long, you got to do it soon. They freak out. They freak out if they aren't used to being on planes.
Starting point is 00:16:37 Oh, my God. I never even thought of that. Okay, we got to go. And also. The same thing that happens to babies happens to dogs a little at years. I also got him a prescription for Xanax. But here's the other thing is that a lot of the time those drugs have a reverse effect on it.
Starting point is 00:16:47 And they get like hyped up. So don't do that. Like I gave one to my Maltese at one point. This was years ago. And she literally looked at me and had her tongue out for like four hours. She's like, she was rolling. And I was like, it's like giving him an L. It was the most awful thing.
Starting point is 00:17:02 Oh no. And it just happened to Becca Tilly. Yeah. She did that with her Pomeranian. So don't do the drugs. Just like have him be chill and try. Yeah. know he just has so much energy naturally i'll have to like get him on like a 90 minute walk
Starting point is 00:17:12 before he does he had a long day today you also have to get like a really good like uh accent for his name to make him seem bougie like yeah i like that like lancelot and then my my bad week also has to do with tiktok it was really upsetting because i put together this video that i thought was fabulous um you guys see the trend this is for rachel you big fat white nasty smelly fat bitch why you took me off the schedule with your trifling dirty white racist i'm coming up there and i'm gonna beat the out of you bitch so i did a video on it and the comments were so mean because I guess this trend has been around for a while
Starting point is 00:17:43 and I'm just doing it. Here's some of the comments. That's why it scares me. I love how late you are to every trend because honestly same. CEO of being late to trends. So mean. So mean. I worked so hard on that TikTok. Do you know how long it took me to memorize that?
Starting point is 00:17:59 Why are you so good at speaking fast? This is such a talent of yours. Jackie and I naturally speak very, very fast and I find that sometimes if I play it up comedically like it helps people laugh so i just do it now and i love doing it i think i got really good at it from repeating the law and order theme song like so much in the criminal justice system sexually based offenses are considered especially heinous in new york city the dedicated checkups will investigate these vicious families moms of elites one knows his best victim these are those
Starting point is 00:18:22 stories done done my god my favorite part of your stand-up is when you do the seductive dance to the when you sing the the the theme song that song is just so special it holds like a really near and dear place in my heart. It is. Can you give us a taste? Of the dance? Of like, just show the girls.
Starting point is 00:18:38 I know the girls can't see that are listening. Well, you know what? Actually, everyone will be able to see when my comedy special comes out sometime in April. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:43 Okay, there you go. I'll leave it at that. Yeah. It's so funny. Probably available for purchase. I'll let you know. Swipe up in my Instagram. All right.
Starting point is 00:18:49 My bad week. I got a new tweet of hatred. Kelty Knight is a fish mouth. What does that mean? It means, I think it means I have too much lip filler. Honestly,
Starting point is 00:18:59 that's a rich person problem. it's like ugly they call it trout mouth i think right yes cordover street wait you guys were at his birthday party i was supposed to be there that night oh my god that would have been so fun i was when i saw that i was like god damn it it was actually a really fun party we walked in and we were like why are we here because it was very frat party but we ended up having so much fun and i was like drinking beer and then nick jonas and priyanka chopra showed up damn yeah it was lit but getting to those parties in the hills like i felt like such a grandma i was so queasy when i arrived i like needed a dramamine it was great and like a
Starting point is 00:19:34 ginger ale do you guys live in the hills i do live in the hills but where court is in the hills is a little bit more windy than than usual very high up yeah i have a good week um and it's a communal good week because it happened to all of us but i'm using it so we're in new york right now and when we landed we decided to get a taxi and we're standing in line for the taxi which airport jfk okay really cute girl comes up like very young and she was like hey do you guys want to split a cab to manhattan and we're that's weird there's already three of you i didn't think it was weird the weirdest thing i've ever seen is your bad week every it's a good week when i lived in new york i thought of this every time i was in the cab line though i would always be like
Starting point is 00:20:14 it would be so easy right now because it's like 70 dollars it's so expensive low person but you guys are a trio already no i think it's like split a cab like are we getting a van yeah anyway we did i'm sorry in this climate like that's yeah we don't you did this you don't have the good week yet she was like i always do this at airport i look for people that are like similar age to me she was 22 i am 35 years old but her reasoning was she just didn't want to share a cab with like an old creepy man yeah no but like that means she thinks you guys are fabulous and normal and not serial killers her contemporary yeah no she said so low excuse me do not throw of this says we're the contemporaries that alludes that we're older she said i look for girls that
Starting point is 00:20:57 are similar in age did she say age yes wow and i was and debecca's like how old are you and she's like 22 and i was like well good night i retire that again 17 years older so wait did you split a cab yeah yeah we ended up paying for it we oh yeah because this girl sounds like no she tried to venom she tried to pay us oh she hustled she's going no she's going to law school she works at the un she was super sweet did she know like about the podcast no we introduced her to it and then she sent me an email about it like how nice it was and hopefully one day she can return the favor like she was really sweet i loved her i just worry for her if she's like traveling so much asking people to split cabs like i just don't feel like she's gonna have a long life
Starting point is 00:21:38 what sort of vehicle did you get okay no but there are so many options like you could take the train from jfk like i just think if you're taking a cab it's like you're making the financial commitment yeah you can also uber pool yeah but like if you don't have to it just also don't you want to be friends with us like well yes of course you'd be like i don't know of course like if i saw you guys at the airport recognized us maybe no no she definitely had no idea if i saw a celebrity i would ask them for sure but i'm not asking random people that's true like when if you want to let me tell when we come back the barbara walters of the lady gang is going to interview the morning toast ladies about their life story so you know barbara was not the moderator it
Starting point is 00:22:17 was meredith and which one's barbara out of you guys kelty now back to the lady gang we're back i want to seriously have a conversation with you okay okay i want to know no because when i was putting together this show i have some funny questions to ask you and we've been funny all morning we were on your show and now we were very funny and good week bad week but i do actually want to ask you a couple serious things because you are at the end of who you are business women and i like that and i feel like everyone always just looks at us yeah as like stupid assholes who just it's because we're women like if we were dancing be like cover of forbes you'll be like adam carolla yeah he's changing me oh conan o'brien the king of podcast oh yeah
Starting point is 00:23:03 oh my god that was so crazy king of podcasting i'm like i've never seen you on the charts with us bitch i mean he is but he's a celebrity and we're so short that it just really discredits us completely yeah yeah so yeah we just like no one takes us seriously we don't really mind it but like the cover of forbes like would be nice yeah i think that the reason i dress like this to be honest with you is because i have napoleon uh complex right now so much i'm in like the most businessy like steve jobs is like turtle black like man's pants like everything is so masculine and i think if i were like five nine i would be totally fine wearing normal clothing i think so But I want people to take me seriously so badly that I dress like a psychopath.
Starting point is 00:23:43 Yeah. I think that we could actually use a little Napoleon complex in our life. Right. We dress like shit. Well, sorry. I do. Like, Jackie's always showing up in her f***ing heels. And I'm wearing the same boots from DSW that are Fergie's brand.
Starting point is 00:23:54 First of all, Fergie makes fabulous shoes. I have two pairs of boots. They've stood two New York winters. Okay. Wow. Wait. How is DSW? We were talking about it yesterday.
Starting point is 00:24:03 I've never been to one, but they carry everything online. And their shipping and returns are so fast and easy. this is not an ad but like i really think it's a great website like and they just carry like brands you've literally never heard of but the shoes are like what are first you know what the brand is called uh burgalicious yeah yes fabulous okay so ladies what is your biggest daily struggle with being who you are oh my god that's like everything i didn't realize we were going to therapy um yeah in what sense therapy questions like every day when you get up and you're like it's a new day and you're excited because your tiktok went viral and then you are filled with
Starting point is 00:24:45 dread yeah because it's hard what is your biggest thing that you worry about i think for me just like questioning everything that i say and do but mostly because i know that a lot of people are listening and watching and like i try and i don't think i'm someone who cares so much what other people think but i think i get really in my own head and like just go on like a merry-go-round of like what did I say blah blah blah like I just don't want to come off in a way that's not authentic to me but we talk so much
Starting point is 00:25:12 that sometimes you can't help it. Well it's also like shitty to be misunderstood. Yes. Like you can not care what people think about you but if somebody takes what you say and they twist it in a way that you did not mean. It's not your intention. Not your intention. Being misunderstood is what is
Starting point is 00:25:27 the worst part about it. Sometimes it's what people infer about what you said that is worse than what you actually said. Oh it always is. But like if I said what i said and you're judging me based on what i said then that's fair because i said it but if you're taking it out of context or like making it something that it's not and i feel misunderstood then i'm like oh you're judging someone who is not me right exactly i have the opposite problem where i am crippled with self-doubt by how much i care about what people think about me like i read every comment i've read i've opened every single one of my dms like because you know what i feel
Starting point is 00:25:54 like it's really important for me to be self-aware and i'm so afraid of like becoming successful and not being in touch with like how annoying i am and i'm so self-conscious of how annoying i am so i read everything and of course i can understand the difference between like criticism and like someone just being mean like calling me a big fat bitch is like that's not actually helpful or like critique that's just being mean but like someone acting like but people actually give me even though it's mean like they do give me feedback that's helpful for me to like knock them off annoying and i'm just so so hyper aware of that so it's like i wake up every morning and like honestly i'm tired sometimes and sometimes i just don't feel like being funny but i feel like
Starting point is 00:26:24 i've now carved out this like we have these roles where i'm like i'm crazy and i'm doing something dumb like and so i feel like pressure to be even crazier and dumber than i was the day before when sometimes I'm just tired. Well, yeah, you have to be a caricature of yourself. Yeah, and I don't mean it in the sense that I'm not who I am online because I really pride myself on being the same exact person. But when you get popular for being a certain way, you feel like you have to be that way every day
Starting point is 00:26:47 when sometimes I actually want to be serious. Well, not always. But I think that you should. Yeah, I try to follow my natural instinct. But then I'll watch a show and I'll be like, that was so boring. Why did I say that? No, I think that what you think is boring
Starting point is 00:26:58 is actually very engaging for people who are fans of yours because it's being able to see, like, another layer of you. Right, it's like a different dynamic. And it might feel uncomfortable, like, because if you're used to being, like, so high energy, like, all the time, back and forth, back and forth, and then you have a moment of, like, seriousness and clarity, people do really appreciate that.
Starting point is 00:27:16 I agree. I feel like I just struggle with, like, getting there, you know? Yeah. I've never felt more seen. Really? I'm going to actually transcribe this and make it into a poster that's going to be in my office. I love that.
Starting point is 00:27:28 Because I feel exactly the same way. yeah someone the other day was like hey girl i love you but with this hair you really do look like stephen tyler no you said that about yourself no i added it as a hashtag to the photo after so that people would stop saying it right like i know i didn't know until you told me but now i know anyway okay um what is one thing that you really really really wish that the world knew about you um i think that there are many many people and i'm sure a lot of them listen to the show who firmly believe like we come on the show when we post on our instagram and we do what we do and then we go home and we have like a shrine to the kkk in our closet like i think people
Starting point is 00:28:06 really think that like what we put out is like so fake and we're really these like evil racist people and anytime i get like a message from someone even if it's like really well thought out and they just think that we're like evil racist like i want to say like come over to my house for dinner like everything you see online everything you see like that's just me like i'm not hiding this like love of you know racism like in my house like people think they and and i can't even fault people for who don't like me for that reason because they really truly believe they're doing the right thing in not liking me like they really think that i have this alter ego that we have this alter ego we come on our show and we find a way to cover up every day how we are so
Starting point is 00:28:39 racist hateful people yeah and that's that's what's so frustrating but also there's so much stuff out there that if you don't watch our show every day because our show is all about like family positivity having a good time making people laugh making people like just feel better about whatever they're going through but if you don't watch that every day and you just read some news articles about us you're like whoa these girls are the devil they do have a shrine to the kkk in their closet and they're infiltrating the young minds they have this agenda yeah it's just like i so i i don't fault people for necessarily thinking that but it it sucks it sucks yeah that's wow have you guys ever talked about it on your yeah i mean i think we talk about it i always say like i really
Starting point is 00:29:14 don't fault people for who don't like us because once you get to know us you watch our show like you can't not love us but people but people know so much about us they think they do before they ever watch our show or before they ever follow us on instagram so like whenever we do something wrong it's like escalated on such a platform like every news article is being written about us but if we do something positive we're like just our show in general no one well because it's not juicy yeah and it's not a headline so if you ever google us like google is my worst nightmare like yeah if you ever just search our last name it's awful yeah well i'm proud of you guys for like coming back and giving it another go if that's even like the right terminology we had no choice but we had
Starting point is 00:29:52 no choice how are we gonna get a job after that right right but a lot of people the mother of invention like we had to start our own business because like we would never have been employed anywhere else yeah but also you guys are all coming at it from a point that's not defensive either no you're like i understand why you're like yeah like a hundred and we said those things and we feel terrible about them but like that's not a that's not who we are one percent of who we are it's just like dumb shit that when we what we that we said before we knew any better right and so people who know of us only from that of course they have like a negative image of us they've never bothered to learn more about us and that's why we like work so hard and we do so many
Starting point is 00:30:26 podcasts and literally we never say no to anything we go everywhere because we're like feel like we're constantly like battling and like an uphill force i also think that we as like a culture have to allow people to grow and learn because i will say um like where i grew up it was just like a very like bubble bubble and then coming to new york and there was no social media and there's just like a lot of stuff that i still don't know about and it's kind of embarrassing sometimes when you don't know yeah and you just like you're like i didn't mean that like of course and then you're so should we move on happy we can do we can do one more we like talking about this stuff okay great i just want to know what um like biggest like you kind of touched on it like
Starting point is 00:31:06 biggest regret but biggest struggle oh my god well i always say this is unrelated but i always say that my biggest regret is one time i was walking on 72nd street and third avenue and I was walking on 72nd Street and 3rd Avenue with Ben and literally we witnessed a bank robbery. There's a TD Bank on the corner. This dude came running out with this huge cloud of red smoke because he had stolen like a pack of money and they have those security things. Well, I didn't even know that existed.
Starting point is 00:31:35 He dropped it and ran. He dropped the money? Yeah, because it was like blowing up and the money scattered all over the street. And I looked down, I picked it up. There was a hole in the money and red dye all over it. That's how they keep it if someone robs. So literally me and Ben were shook and I was like, should we call the police? and a second later the police pulled up and they were like what did you see i'm like okay he was
Starting point is 00:31:52 wearing a purple polo he was wearing sneakers and blue jeans and he went that way north on third avenue and they were like get in the car do you want to help us find us and i was like yes oh my god and ben goes you cannot get in the car and i'm like what he's like you cannot get in the car and i'm like are you kidding me he's like you cannot get in the car i'm like okay so i'm like the guys the police officers were like make a decision he was worried for your safety and i'm like okay i won't go i won't go and they went i don't know if they ever ended up finding him but not getting in that car like instagram storing the entire saga is one of my biggest regrets unrelated to the question but like that's my biggest regret yeah because yeah and now when
Starting point is 00:32:24 i think of like my whole life and like a regret it's just like one teen tour that i went on and i had just a really terrible time and i just like was embarrassed she went home early i went home early and it was like a teen tour with friends from my high school and i was already having a teen tour what when you go on a trip a tour for teens summer to like a high school trip No, but it's like a campy thing. A program. Some of them are around the country, but it was a teen tour to Israel, and it was like a lot of people from my school happened to go.
Starting point is 00:32:50 And I was already having a hard time making friends, and I spent the whole year trying to make friends. And I just didn't want to make – I didn't want to do it anymore on this teen tour. And so I left early like a big loser. So I just was a bigger loser than when I started. Yeah, you were. And I felt like I just should have gone to camp that summer. And I don't think my life would be any different.
Starting point is 00:33:06 But that's why it's a good regret because it's like I didn't learn anything from it. Like, you know, it didn't need to happen that way. I could have been home having a good summer. I think I just like missed the whole summer. You're such a special person. I want to wrap you in a baby Bjorn and carry you around and take care of you. Thank you. That's what I need, I think.
Starting point is 00:33:22 I think so too. For sure. We all do. I need you like in a snuggle onesie and like I just, I'll brush your hair at night. But she won't let you touch her. That's like her thing. No, just not my face. And then I also got a facial recently and she was like, you touch your face way too
Starting point is 00:33:34 much. Like you're having like a cystic breakout on your chin. I was like, I never touch my face and I don't let anyone else. You're lying. You're lying. in coronavirus now you really cannot touch your face no but career regret i don't know it's so lame to say like obviously do i wish i deleted my tweets 10 years ago yeah but in a lot of ways i felt like what happened to us was so meant to happen and i'm one of those people who really
Starting point is 00:33:52 believes like everything happens for a reason and i don't feel like we would be the people we are now if we didn't have that whole situation so i don't even think i would say that was my biggest regret i'm so happy with like the people we are now and like the business we have now i think i really don't have any career regrets yeah it's easy to say of course like we regret that chapter but like on a human level and on a business level i don't at all like we learned so much it's really held us accountable the way we treat other people and celebrities is really different because of the way that we experienced it the way we report on stuff and from a business standpoint like we were just employees before and we got fired we whether our show was big or small we had absolutely no stake
Starting point is 00:34:28 in it we just showed up and did what we did but we didn't care so much and forcing us to become like female entrepreneurs and start our own business and think about like what we want for ourselves what we want to put out into the world that's representative of us it's been the biggest blessing so i don't regret any of it it seems like it's taught you guys a lot of empathy yeah of course it still follows us like i lose deals all the time like for my comedy special i lost a huge deal like and it's annoying that it never goes away like people will always remember that about us but that's just our cross to bear yeah i love that all right best celebrity encounter worst celebrity counter i want worst celebrity encounter hillary duff in atlantis bahamas she
Starting point is 00:35:01 was so rude to me my friend me and my friends i was 16 we took a trip to the bahamas we were so excited we stayed at the atlantis and she was there and this was like post uh lizzie mcguire but like pre-younger so she was really like this like socialite almost and we were in the casino because the the gambling age was 18 and like we did kind of look 18 we were just like standing in the casino and someone saw her and we were staring at her and she comes out to us we're like oh my god and she's like if i take a picture with you will you stop staring at us and i was like yeah so we took a picture yeah and the picture is amazing but it was it was actually quite scarring because already going up to celebrities so scary and she made the situation worse i feel like anytime i go
Starting point is 00:35:40 up to a celebrity i regret it can you say the james vanderbeek one that's like terrible oh no i actually i forgot about that oh my god what a great obscure celebrity yeah right so that wasn't even my worst i guess i'll do two worse because the james vanderbeek one my sister margo and i we were obsessed with don't trust to be in apartment 23 it was a great show i love that show it was so good and we were in LA where everything good happens to us and we were at earth cafe we were sitting outside which by the way Addison does tiktoks there I saw one this morning and I'm like there's nothing more cramped than an earth cafe and you're doing a but I think she thrives on the public element of dancing yes sorry so no it's okay so we saw James Van Der
Starting point is 00:36:21 Beek like walking past with his family and we were so obsessed so we were like oh my god we have to say hi and there's this thing when you see a celebrity you think it's like your one chance in life if you don't say hi you'll regret it i i only regret ever saying hi to someone you know like don't go up to them like take a picture from afar like because also if you ever happen to run into them again like it's just awkward if they remember so anyways we went to go follow them out and we're walking behind them on the street to say hi but like both of us are such pussies like neither of us can do it so we're just following them for legit two blocks trying to work up the courage to say hi to him and his entire
Starting point is 00:36:58 family stroller and all. Because he has like 17 kids. And eventually we're like this is so ridiculous like we have to do it so we go up to him and we're like hi James Renner, we love you, don't trust to be in apartment 23 and we think it's so good like can we get a picture? He was just not into it at all and he felt because he was with his kids. Did he say no
Starting point is 00:37:14 for the picture? No, he took the picture and actually Margot just sent it to me from her time hop and it's awful. It's awful. It's so hideous. Does it like give you anxiety to look back on? Yes, of course. And it's like I don't even want this picture. It like hurts my heart. So, and it wasn't his fault at all
Starting point is 00:37:28 because like it was just us being weird and we just didn't need to say hi to him. I got nothing out of that encounter and I didn't know what I hoped to get out of it either. No. You know what really bothered me about James Van Der Beek? And I love him and I think he's great
Starting point is 00:37:39 and he was wonderful on Dancing with the Stars. Yeah, he was. But he has like a rule that you're not allowed to ask him about Dawson's Creek. Oh God. And so one of like the biggest. Oh, he won Celebrity Series.
Starting point is 00:37:47 I know. And he wouldn't let you talk about the thing that made them famous. Yes. Yes, and this happens all the time with celebrities well i've gotten some good jordan co i'm sure you've seen it a lot on entertainment but yeah we see it all the time and i'm just like i just want to talk about it and i even went so far to like get some cast members to like in other interviews get well wishes like
Starting point is 00:38:05 we're watching you you're amazing and i did it for like the chick that was on the office kate and like steve carell's like kate i'm watching you're fucking amazing and you show it and then it's like this great tv yeah so i had michelle williams i think and like this thing about Kate Flannery I had like one of the big stars of Dawson's Creek like do a shout out to James for Dancing with the Stars and I brought the iPad and I was like I have the greatest show and he's like no no no I don't want to do this
Starting point is 00:38:30 kind of thing and I was like you're not fun so maybe he's just not fun takes himself seriously he was nice enough like lovely guy but just like not into the fun of fame also my other worst one I guess I don't have the best one anyone that would be best is like someone who came on the show that we were like so excited
Starting point is 00:38:46 about like that girl from Glee Becca Tobin that was actually a highlight i thought that that was fake the enthusiasm but no it's so real it's like sad how real it is i love you guys well if you guys could not talk about glee ever again yeah she doesn't like i don't like to talk about it i'm just kidding oh my god i will kill you i have nothing else to talk about it would hurt us my other worst one is madeline patch oh terrible oh god you look so much like her right right people love to hear that also i love riverdale like i love it so much we were at a party it was a young hollywood party and she was there and i was like okay I have to go up to her and say hi and take a picture everyone tells us we look alike I
Starting point is 00:39:21 personally actually don't see it but I love the compliment so I went up to her she was with her boyfriend I was like hi like you know I love Riverdale blah blah and I said everyone says that we look alike and I just having been on the receiving end of that sometimes it's just not what you want to hear like no one likes that that comment I learned in that moment so I asked her to take a picture and then I made a joke which I realized afterwards was a terrible joke because everyone in the room was probably an actor but i i were not so i was joking i was like if you ever need someone oh god what'd you say like stunt double you never need someone to play your sibling oh god i love you that's awful
Starting point is 00:39:58 biopic of your life i could play you young you could play your sibling knowing me it's like i'm not asking for a role i couldn't do that but everyone in la but she's like you're serious She probably said I was asking her for a job. How was she? What did she say? Because she's kind of awkward anyway. And she was so awkward. She's like, yeah, it was terrible.
Starting point is 00:40:22 Oh, God. It was terrible, but it gets worse because then a few months later, Margo and I, at least that time I was with Claudia, and you're pretty, like, socially aware, but Margo and I are, like, the same awkward people. We were at an event for Biori because she was going to be there. Oh, no. And they said we couldn't meet her. Wait.
Starting point is 00:40:41 Wait, they said you couldn't go? Oh, no, they said we could meet her. Do you need a minute? So, did you go to meet her again? Yes. To clear the air? You just need to do like that. She probably thought you were a stalker.
Starting point is 00:40:54 This is like a sad Seinfeld episode. I don't know why I put myself through it again. Maybe because Margot had never met her and Margot loves her, too. So, I was like, I'll take you to the Sibiori event. Oh, my God. So, we go and meet her and we get our picture with her. Did she remember you? No, I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:41:11 thank god and margo this time didn't know what to say oh no so she was like who's the black hood oh god and madeline is that from the show from the show yeah and madeline like panicked because also on the show they had told us who they said that someone was a black hood like someone came forward but it wasn't actually them so like by her even like answering the question like she doesn't know what episode is airing so but by her like not saying anything it's like she should have said the person who just came out as so we just walked away feeling so awkward and then someone comes up to us and is like um just like please don't say anything about like what madeline said about black hood like it's a spoiler and we're like she didn't even say anything but like she
Starting point is 00:41:52 obviously had to go tell someone that she had a pit and it's just like i never want to be in the same room with her ever again but not because there's anything wrong with her but it's just like i've it's you embarrassed myself good for you amazing oh my god all right on that on that embarrassing note when we come back we're gonna do ask the lady gang you're listening to the lady gang okay and we're back you guys have done this before we're giving shitty advice to people okay i would love that okay first question comes from anonymous she says i've been with my boyfriend for less than a year and within a few months of dating he opened up about his past cheating on his ex girlfriend for a year i've been cheated on in the past so i'm struggling with worrying that this
Starting point is 00:42:32 might happen in our relationship even though he has never given me any reason to doubt his commitment he was also honest from the beginning about his mistakes but i can't help to think once a cheater always a cheater is someone's past a deal breaker in the words of rachel green's mom on friends once a cheater always a cheater but in the words of this podcast like your past is not to find you oh so true but it's damn take me to church jackie oh so i'm all about second chances but then there is that old adage once a cheater always a cheater and that just seems like the And you just don't want to wait to like be proven right about this, you know? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:05 And also I think that your passion define you by like the number of people you're sleeping with or like, well, your dating past is, but maybe, maybe if you're like prone to cheating on every significant other, I don't know if it's going to change. Exactly what it is. It's if you are a serial cheater, you're a serial cheater. If you in your twenties cheated on someone, it wasn't the right person for you. Weren't fulfilled in the relationship. It was bound to happen, you know?
Starting point is 00:43:27 And then when you get married later, a bunch of years later, I'm not saying this is me, but it's probably me like you're gonna be on you're gonna be true to them because they're your person yeah i agree with that i would agree with that but he said he was cheating for a whole year or the girlfriend was a year girlfriend was a year okay but he opened up about his cheating pass i would just need more information yeah i would like i would use this information and be skeptical and i would definitely like look at things with a closer eye but i wouldn't write it off completely if he's given you absolutely no reason not to trust him yep yep all right next question also anonymous my best friend is my male co-worker we are both in good marriages but we
Starting point is 00:44:00 definitely flirt at work i have no desire to actually cross any lines and i can't imagine he does either but i worry that i might be catching feelings beyond our platonic flirtationship i don't know if i would have feelings for him in any other circumstances is it okay to have a work flirt yeah yeah we don't work with anyone i flirt with theo that's pretty much it i think it's something's gotta keep you know the juices alive by talking about
Starting point is 00:44:24 what we're doing maybe it makes you feel alive have one rule that you don't drink together that's a good idea like at a work happy hour
Starting point is 00:44:31 when shit gets crazy or if you see people in a whole new light oh that's bad yeah that's really bad oof everybody needs one
Starting point is 00:44:40 also sounds like homegirls like overthinking this thing like totally I wish I had someone to flirt with at work I live with these two losers
Starting point is 00:44:45 right I have a random question for you guys if each of you had to date a member in the lady gang who would you date i would date becca because jack is like consistently 10 minutes late and i can't
Starting point is 00:44:56 deal breaker okay rude and that's like the only reason that's it's a good reason and i could we could share clothes i would date becca because we both actually like doing things and drinking okay kelty do you not drink no i drink but i don't like to go out of the house i feel like i'm like the bachelor right now because yeah you're like you most wanted well i would date myself. I'd rather be alone for the rest of my life than have to spend my life with either of us. Spending more time. Outside of work. Yes. I love them both though
Starting point is 00:45:26 dearly. We do date each other though. This is our lives. We see each other more than our significant others. You're a throuple. Same. Yeah. Okay. Last question comes from Sarah Sunshine. She says, I've had the same best friend since third grade. Over the summer we have had a falling out, probably a long
Starting point is 00:45:42 time coming, and decided to take a break from each other. We have not spoken in any way since then and her 30th birthday is in March and her mom and sister are throwing a surprise party and have invited me.
Starting point is 00:45:52 I don't know if they know I haven't spoken to my friends since then and I don't know if I should go. I'll always love her and wish her the best but I'm not sure
Starting point is 00:45:59 such a public gathering is the first time we should see each other. Do you think I should go? Absolutely not. No. No. Obviously the mom doesn't know.
Starting point is 00:46:06 You not showing, you showing up is so weird. So weird. It's going to probably ruin the party. Ruin the party. Just don't go. Make everybody feel uncomfortable.
Starting point is 00:46:11 Yeah. Yeah, don't go. Even if you guys were friends like you don't have to go it's fine yeah that party sounds boring too love parties where we're different like of course they do yeah jackie's at a different stage like the party i went out every night this week so far because ben's in la and i just love love loved going out and drinking oh excuse me i'm the biggest club rat in manhattan and i have been since i was 16 so funny that's where cuba getting junior put his finger up my ass yes um we've heard the story
Starting point is 00:46:36 yeah and it's also on my comedy special like when it comes out yeah um it's i love clubs so much like i think that i mean i love going to clubs obviously in any way but my favorite type of club outing is when i have a table and i'm just like feel like i'm better than everyone else yeah like i love music i love dancing i love clubbing i love drinking i just i love the club mentality i really hate the club there's nothing worse than that table full of drinks like gives me nightmares like i want a lounge paradise yeah a lounge paradise live band oh god we're so different jazz mojito a quartet you know i want a bartender that has a muddler not just a cranberry juice i love it i love those pictures twice like a vodka red bull at the club
Starting point is 00:47:22 it's like a shot of tequila okay i don't really like cocktails i really prefer to just take shots like throughout the night i think like holding around like a sloshy cold drink is my worst nightmare yeah unless i'm at dinner i'll obviously cocktail i won't take shots at dinner but at a bar club like every every hour i'll just do a shot i used to do that when i lived in new york it's so fun just take shots and like what i love about new york is everything's open forever like when i go to la at one o'clock everyone's asleep and it's so boring yes do you remember when butter was the place to be of course because it was on gossip girl and i have a reservation at butter because he dated an olsen the owner oh is that why yeah old uh at the time he was like quite a bit old
Starting point is 00:47:57 well probably like 35 when she was like 20 12 years old yeah but i remember that being hot on that note we have to go damn it you love the morning toast you're already subscribed but if you're not go subscribe on youtube and you're wherever you get your podcasts also you should follow these girls girl with no job jackie o problems and the morning toast and their tiktoks are amazing i recently subscribed yes just this following i think on tiktok it is okay whatever and you can also watch the morning toast every morning at 10 30 a.m eastern on youtube and it's fabulous I think this was great
