Starting point is 00:00:00 Well, what is this? Welcome to the Lady Gang. That's amazing. Say that again. The Lady Gang. Things are about to change around here. Each week, we catch up with Hollywood's hottest girl posse, Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek. Hello, hello, hello. Welcome to the Lady Gang.
Starting point is 00:00:20 I am Becca Tobin, here with Jack Vanek and Kelty Knight. Hello, ladies. Hello, Lady Gang. Kelty, is that a vintage Chanel? Oh, you know. um yeah it is oh you know it is wait what do you mean it is she she likes the fence and i also like the fence yeah what's the fence i don't want to tell you you're not gonna like it look it up on tiktok is it fake i don't want to tell you because i know you're gonna hate it i hate fake designer
Starting point is 00:00:49 things yes i know why bother well because i don't understand this i like well here here's the thing I like, I like the shoes. Yeah. Okay. Because I understand that because you can't find a non designer shoe that looks like some of the shoes that I like by designers, but I don't want to pay $1,500 for a rubber shoe. I a thousand percent understand that. So, you know, I've, my mind has been changed. Maybe not with clothes or handbags. Yeah. So for me, it was a stress release. Um, so I really got suckered into the Tik TOK called the fence fines, which is like where people put all the things that they found on this particular site um and i well i don't want to i don't want to get you know in trouble or whatever so anyway it's like the dark web it's a dark web and um
Starting point is 00:01:39 and so i have purchased a few things and they're really good i know like i got a chanel slide and a louis vuitton like makeup case that are you can't i literally put it beside my friends and you can't even there's no difference and then i got sucked in deeply where i just started ordering everything that was $10. And so this is one of those particular outfits. And I just went to my closet and I was like, I want to put something on. And I just felt like I was hot. I wanted a tank and it was just sitting there. It hasn't been worn yet. It probably will never be worn again. It's not bad quality. I think it's cute. So this was an actual, so shoot for people who can't see us right now. It's like a sweater, vesti type pastel with the Chanel. Was this an actual sweater
Starting point is 00:02:22 that they made i have no idea okay well that's the problem the problem the problem is yes and that's how you get caught by because you have a chanel shirt that was never made for chanel there are certain bless you sorry there it must be really fake and like if you just come from literally like having an allergic reaction okay well um it's time for good week yes it is bad week oh no okay i'll start you guys this is the episode this is the podcast i'm in my retract that era oh wow she's retracting so you know i got called out for never having worn a one-piece and then everyone was like no you have there's like 10 pictures of you in one pieces which still blows my mind yeah um so i have found a spray tan oh that does not look like a spray tan
Starting point is 00:03:18 and the way that i found this place is i'm in texas outside in the sun and my neighbor who is this amazing woman in her 70s yep donna donna she's the greatest neighbor of all time and she comes around and says hi and i'm like donna did you just go to like the bahamas you look glowing like and she's she's like you know blonde light eyes like we have very similar coloring so when somebody like that has a glowing tan yeah i need to know every detail yeah where am i going she's like oh honey it's 360 tan they got two locations in this it's the gem of the south and i was like oh my god donna and i was like this is really just spray she's like it's all spray and i made i inspected her her fingers her teeth all the things her tits no her tits her teeth her teats
Starting point is 00:04:05 so i was like you know what i have a family vacation so it doesn't matter how crazy i look this is gonna be my trial run yeah i went in there this girl couldn't be older than 21 years old i'm like she doesn't know her way around a spray tan booth there's no way this is gonna be good it's gonna be good and she's chatting it up with me and i'm like i wish you'd pay more attention to what's going on whatever and then she did this powder on me because i was like i don't want to smell i know that's like like asking the world to have a spray tan and not smell gross yeah and i've every formula they're like it doesn't smell it doesn't smell and then you reeks reek for days you guys kelsey at this place 360 tan knocked it out of the park really
Starting point is 00:04:50 i have never looked better do you have it right now no it's gone by now but i bought it monthly for 24 freaking dollars a month i can go in there once a month and get my are you kidding me one spray tan here is 60 yeah texas i gotta get out of here congrats oh my god a monthly yeah i mean an abortion costs 6 000 because you gotta fly out of the state you know what i'm saying um okay so my bad week is that i have married someone who's so good at so many things but zach martin is a bad online shopper what way he doesn't return anything oh i know returns are hard i am about to call in like the big guns of couples counseling because i am so angry when i look at the things that he has bought didn't work out and did not make their way back to the mail
Starting point is 00:05:50 shop. That's bad. Across the street. Well, first of all, what's a mail shop? They call themselves the mail shop because they do all type. It's the postal annex. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Wait. Do we have those here? Is this another Texas thing? It's like the postal annex.
Starting point is 00:06:06 I don't think I have those. Anyways, it's right across the street. And I, thousands of dollars, thousands of dollars. He bought a carrier for hiking to put Ford in. Ford looked at that thing and was like, abs Absolutely not. You get in there and we couldn't get him in there one time. It's $400.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Guess what? He missed the window to return it. So now I forced him to put it on Facebook marketplace and I'm like, we don't have any bites. Cause you know what? Summer's over. People aren't hiking with their kids anymore. He missed both boats and I'm about to ship him off on a boat. Yeah. That's not good. Stop online shopping. If you can't return responsibly, you can't shop responsibly. Returns are so daunting though. It doesn't matter. They always are when I do. Cause I let mine pile up until like the very last minute and then I have to go everywhere I don't have a postal annex I gotta go to the post office gotta go UPS FedEx well takes me half a day I'm sorry but it hurts you're burning money I return it back in time you're not but yes he's burning
Starting point is 00:07:05 money test test Jacqueline I'll go okay so my good week the other day so I always wake up before Jared I wake up like an hour before him and I sit in bed and have my coffee whatever so the other day i was doing just that jared was dead asleep and he kind of turns over and he like looks at me but his eyes are closed like he's still dreaming and he goes boy i sure hope so and then like turns back around and goes to sleep no but like but like kind of like flutters his eyes and like turns back over and i'm like he is not a sleep talker like this is the first time this has ever happened he says boy i sure hope so and i'm like i've got to know what he is dreaming about yeah so he wakes up yeah and I was like Jared what were you dreaming about you like said
Starting point is 00:07:51 this thing I gotta know he's like I was dreaming that it was the night before our wedding and every night when I go to bed I always go I always tell Jared I'm like see you tomorrow and so he's like you said see you tomorrow the day before our wedding and I answered boy I sure hope so oh my god dark but also cute I was like oh my god it was really cute it was really cute but I was like It was literally the only time I've ever heard him sleep talk in my entire life. This is how I believe in past lives because that type of, that's not really a term he would normally use, right? Exactly.
Starting point is 00:08:24 Like, boy, I sure hope so. Yeah. I think you adopt like the vernacular of your past life and the past like century that you came from. And that's like when you inhabit those, like when you go under anesthesia and they say you say crazy shit. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or when you have like a heart transplant and then you start speaking Spanish or whatever.
Starting point is 00:08:42 Yeah. Wow. okay boy i sure hope so boy i sure hope so my bad week um you know how i told you guys about my video going viral and all the karens coming on it yeah well it happened again oh this one on my video with jared we are walking down getting our picture taken and his hand is on my waist and i was like take your hand off my waist and then the photographer's like no your the hand looks really good on your waist i was like fine put it back again same thing happened all of the my followers like so funny so funny haha and then the karens being uh didn't want him touching her
Starting point is 00:09:14 until she heard it's good for photos rip up those marriage papers before they're fired then there's all these comments basically saying that i'm a bridezilla and then we're gonna get divorced so one thing i would look for forward to having no one thing i would look forward to about having a husband is for him to put his hand on my waist as we walk she was not in wife mode she was in work mode work is her is instagram the reason why i did it because it looks awkward it looks awkward if his like it like and he's awkward when he does it to me so i'm like this is gonna look weird so i'm like just like move your hand off you were like you were like you were you were art directing it wasn't you that wasn't jack loving jerry that was art directing these photos
Starting point is 00:09:53 because you have dreamed about this you had a whole courthouse look like this whole vibe and you're like this is what's gonna look good when i put on instagram you're doing a due diligence for that dress designer you know what i mean you gotta have the right look and getting those photos yeah of get those photos. Like you were art directing that moment. And I do this to my husband all the time. And I think it's good that we're talking to you about it as you go into marriage, because it is now, now you're married and you know, you have to be very sensitive to your art direction of your marriage. Um, okay. I have a good week, bad week combo. So I had a meltdown. Um, I was lying in bed having a big cry. And, um, I've recently put on winter bedding because I need
Starting point is 00:10:34 like so much love in my life right now so i put a very very comfortable bedding i was in bed it's 1 30 p.m i'm decided i'm take a half hour nap before i go to e and i'm having a cry and out of the blue i get a text message from jonathan bennett and his text message is like so lovely and he's like hey i'm thinking about you and i i know you're like launching the show right now it's probably so stressful and you know there's so much pressure but just try to enjoy this moment like you did it girl like you you really did it like she also didn't you send us a really nice message when we did lady gang tv yeah yeah and he's like you did it don't don't let anything be clouded like this is a big deal and i was like oh my god i can't believe you just messaged me
Starting point is 00:11:14 this because i'm in bed crying and then he sends me a video and he goes he literally selfied a video and he's like we're not doing that girl and he's like he's like we're not doing this we are not going to blow this moment because no matter what happens this is your moment and we are going to appreciate it because in two years when the show is or not is not on the air anymore and you'll be like i ruined the whole time i was doing it i was so miserable kind of like lady gang tv you know where it's like you're just chasing ratings and you're feeling like a failure and all this stuff and i was like i was like oh my god like thank you for sending this i watched it like four times on repeat and i was like i can live another day so then i drive to work i get
Starting point is 00:11:52 out of my car i go to the e um my dressing room and at e there's like just a very long hallway with like 10 dressing rooms and like mine's the third one i'm walking walking and i turn and look in the dressing room guess who's sitting there jonathan bennett yeah oh my god he was on me that night i had no idea oh cute and so he looked at me and he goes and i went and i ran over to him and then he just hugged me and i bawled my eyes out for like 20 minutes where the producer that was like trying to produce him and like pre-interview him walked out i was like i'll give you guys a minute and then i was like my next thought was like we forget jonathan bennett's body for hugging oh it's great oh my god he is so broad like there's a reason that he's the hunk
Starting point is 00:12:38 in all the hallmark movies like this man has a shoulder and a pectoral that's a prerequisite for hallmark and he just like he enveloped me and like then i backed up and i was like i've honestly never had a hug feel so good like he needed it he was he's like a big like muscular man and it was just so weird that he was there and i was like the universe is it's all happening for a reason and like that was very kismet so it was my bad week because i was having a cry but my good week because jonathan bennett what a nice time he's he's your uh emotional support human yeah i know and then he was just like you're fine you're fine we're not doing this we're not doing this don't ruin it i was like okay he's like look at me i've been hustling my whole life like i still
Starting point is 00:13:18 i'm like trying and i was like it seems exhausting yeah anyway yeah okay see you in a bit now back to the lady gang our guest today is making all of our 90s dreams come true as the queen of teenage drama she ruled the bayside high cheerleading squad and saved by the bell and the mean streets of beverly hills in 90210 today she is the dazzling host of mtv's hit serious deliciousness and serving up her second cookbook here we go again recipes and inspiration to level up your leftovers let the nostalgia the big bangs and the culinary delights begin please welcome to the show tiffany thesen yay welcome my husband is so excited i mean we've been doing this our husband's gas would die since 2015 wow has it been that long for you guys
Starting point is 00:14:17 It's been that long. I know you guys have been around, but I didn't realize it was that long. That's amazing. Literally never ends. It never ends. It's the story that never ends. And I have told my husband, like occasionally he'll be like, oh, what are you doing today? Oh, who do you have on the podcast?
Starting point is 00:14:31 He never cares. Never, ever, ever. And he was like, what? What? What? You were his first crush. And I think when you're someone's first crush, like it stays with you forever and ever. Like he's still like thinks of you and is like, that's, that's the woman I should have
Starting point is 00:14:50 married. Well, what's funny is that my husband is totally different and had never seen an episode of any of my shows and had no idea who I was. How did you guys meet? How is that possible? Isn't that funny? Yeah, that's good though. All his college, you know, roommates and friends and all that were very different.
Starting point is 00:15:10 And they're the ones who actually filled him in to who I was, I guess, because he really had no clue. Um, we were actually set up on a blind date many, many moons ago. We just celebrated our 18, uh, 18th wedding anniversary and we met together for 20 years this September. Oh my gosh, a blind date that worked. Yeah. And I had a couple of those on, you know, they weren't all great.
Starting point is 00:15:36 And like in an actress who made it work. That's not easy. Which is rare. Yeah. Yeah. I think, um, I think probably because he didn't know who I was, he was from Texas. He was trying to like, he was just getting into the business when I had been in the business my whole life, but he had all these other careers. He's an artist and now is like, you know, a huge cookbook. I mean, not cookbook, um, a children's book author and illustrator and all that. So
Starting point is 00:16:01 his world is totally different. And so, um, and he's, you know, yeah, had no idea. Not one episode. That's amazing. Has he seen it since? He's caught a glimpse, but no, he's still never have seen. No, none of those old shows. Nope. My daughter has, my daughter's, my daughter has, but, um, and she actually makes fun. She's like, TV was really different than mom. It's not as great.
Starting point is 00:16:26 And I'm like, yeah, you're kind of right. It was better. The most iconic show ever. Incorrect in so many ways. I think because TV now is so different. like she loved my other show on netflix you know that i did um but and now when she loved but but the older show she's it doesn't catch her attention the same i don't know it's like when i tried to watch twin peaks which is like one of the best shows of all time and i'm like damn this show is
Starting point is 00:16:56 slow like it's it is different like our attention spans are different i think that's exactly it and and i and i do get it i do i mean i watch and i'm like oh they're really stupid but um i love it she has to know though that you're an american icon like she has to does she grasp that because that is like you were one of so few yeah yeah like when you go i can imagine like if you go to disneyland or you're at the school pta like because you became such a worldwide phenomenon at the time when there was no social media all we had was our stars and so people feel like they know you they love you there was pictures and tv stars were different than movie stars right because we were in people's living rooms kitchens bedrooms where and that's something that aaron spelling
Starting point is 00:17:48 told me a long time ago he goes more people have seen your show yeah weekly than at the time was watching like the best movie at the time was like forrest gump or something like that yeah and that blew my mind because i was like really and he's like and people literally these are people who have you in their homes. And it's true. It's very true. No, she has no idea. And that's, and she knows that I was on popular TV shows. She knows that people were who you are, you know, know who I am, but it really didn't, she didn't understand any of that old stuff. It was more like when I was on the more recent show and it was her age group and it was her friends that were freaking out. That was when it really was, she was like, what mom? Oh, so annoying. You know,
Starting point is 00:18:30 that kind of thing, you know? But also it's like, she's your daughter and like everything that mom does is probably lame to their kids yeah and it's like why is that i don't understand i was trying to show her how to put her glitter brush a blush on a little bit better she was putting it on too high she looked at me like i was crazy she was like mom this is how they do it now and i'm like you mean they put it up here they don't put it on your cheeks anymore i just heard do it i mean i was like okay okay sorry i'm gonna stop i just heard um on a podcast actually there's a scientific reason that teenage girls hate their parents specifically their mothers and it's their biologically programmed to start hating their own tribe so it it gets them to leave their tribe
Starting point is 00:19:15 yes i wonder if it was the same book i bet yeah but it's only i read that too and it makes it makes total sense you know i'm just trying to like maybe maybe dislike and disagree more than hate if you were my mom i would let you put your blush wherever you want it on me especially because you make such delicious freaking foods and so my question is we are the queens of a second act here at lady gang we're all on our ninth act where were you at what point were you when you were like this is this my second act is doing these cookbooks doing cooking television? I think, well, I'll tell you exactly. I was living in New York and, you know, food was always a passion of a side passion. You know, I never went to culinary school. I'm not a
Starting point is 00:20:05 chef or anything. I'm a home, I'm a home cook. Right. But food was always something that brought me joy, literally cooking for people, cooking for at the time, you know, like friends. And then it became trying to grab a man and I would cook great meals. And then it was like cooking for your kids and your family and still wanting to entertain. So that was always a part of my world. And my love of different cuisines and travel and all that started very, very young. But having it kind of become a sort of side career, right. Really happened when I was living in New York. And I remember I was always going to Chelsea market and I would see like food network and cooking channel and all that. I was like, and I used to, I watched all those shows and I'm like, huh, I wonder if
Starting point is 00:20:47 they would ever take a TV show from like someone like me, who's not like a chef, but loves to cook. Right. And I would speak to like more of the home chef. And I literally like on a whim called my manager and I was like, Hey, do you think you could actually get a meeting while I'm here? I'm like, I'm here in New York. Like I kind of have a couple ideas maybe for a cooking show. If they ever would take something from someone like me and he's like, let's see. And I walked in there and took a meeting and was like, and they were like, yeah, we'd love to. I was like, So it was totally like a whim like that. And, and, and generally most people don't do like TV show first and then cookbook, right? It usually goes the other way around. So, so the fact that I guess
Starting point is 00:21:28 I had that people were like, Oh, are you going to do a book? Are you going to do a book? And I was like, Oh sure. I'll do a book. Never knew how hard books were. Oh yeah. I mean, that is like birthing a child with four hard corners. Holy crap. I love that. Birthing a child with four hard corners. Truly. And you know, my first birthing story was not easy. So, but she didn't have four hard corners, but so, so it just kind of developed into that. And it became something that I honestly never put a huge thought into. It was really just something I loved and how great that I'm able to make sort of a career out of it. This is something my grandmother told me a long time ago.
Starting point is 00:22:14 She said, you will never work a day in your life if you enjoy what you do for a living. And it's so true. And I would say that completely with most of the things that I get to do for a living. Pretty cool. Yeah. So true. What year was this that you took that meeting? That was, um, so it was before my daughter was born or maybe she was just born. So she's 13. So 13 years ago, 2010. Wow. And you're, yeah, it doesn't also, it also doesn't happen a lot where somebody from other parts of entertainment, actors, whatever, do the, get into that cooking space and stay like you have had so much longevity and it's like truly a bit in a second. Yeah. Which is super nice. I mean, I know it's much more popular. I mean, even like I just, this old lady
Starting point is 00:22:58 you just got on Tik TOK and, and, uh, it's like the amount of food on Tik TOK. It's crazy. It's so crazy, which is fun. It's really, I actually enjoy watching it too, but it's, it's endless. And the amount of people that, um, are now doing food on these sort of platforms. It's kind of funny. I think the reason you're having so much success is you make cookbooks and cooking for the average basic B like us, uh, your new cookbook. Here we go again, recipes and inspiration to level up your leftovers is out now and what I love about this and so I decided to play a game I think this is amazing because you know what I'm not going to be bringing in original products I'm not going to be having I have canisters full of things that I could put together
Starting point is 00:23:47 they're not to be touched they're to be photographed in my pantry for Instagram and what is getting eaten is whatever the is left in my fridge. And so today I've asked each member of the lady gang to bring three items of leftover from their fridge. Okay. And we're going to ask you based on here we go again, your cookbook that's out right now, what we could make with our products. Okay. Got it. I'm going to start with our busy mom, Becca. She's got a one in a little bit you're old a lot on her plate what's on your plate what's in your skillet for Tiffany today well Tiffany let me just tell you a little bit about this and I want to know from a mom this is why I'm so discouraged I'll tell you what's in my fridge which is so sad but I'm it's
Starting point is 00:24:34 so discouraging because I did all the things that all the like new excited moms who have kids that are finally eating food are doing and now I do have access to like the tiktoks and the you know just like the random things of what it doesn't matter. You're tired and you, you're stretched thin. And when I do it, he won't even eat it. He, you have a fussy one then. Yeah. Okay. So I, my first, my first child was that, was that, what do you do? She would have stayed on my breasts probably until now, if I would have let her, she had no interest in food, like truly like she could care less about it. I think yogurt was probably the only thing that she took besides me. And then I finally like, was like, okay, we got a wing girl. Like, this is like,
Starting point is 00:25:19 mama's got to, got to get her body back. I've got to get, you know? Um, so it's hard. It's super hard. So I, I do know that my second one was not that way. He was so much easier. He gave him, he gave me up on his own, like was so much easier and anything I threw at him, he was like, sure, let's try it. Um, it's hard and you're tired. I know you're so, so tired. Um, keep trying. Yeah. Another thing my, my mother used to tell me, um, the stage won't last, right? It's like, it's like potty training or like trying to get them to sleep in their bed. Like they're not going to graduate college with diapers, right? Like it's not going to happen. So it won't last forever. You just got to be patient and just keep trying. You're right. And that's when he
Starting point is 00:26:06 spits out the broccoli that I've taken, you know, four hours of my life between grocery store to, you know, cleaning up afterwards where I've made this thing. I'm like, it's hidden enough with enough cheese. There's enough stuff. And then he spits it out. I do have to remind myself that he's hopefully not going to go to college, still not eating something green. Um, so that's good. I promise. I promise he will. And if it's too much to make it, then don't make it. I've started the same thing. Like, but you know, so, so many of my, like, yeah. So my son is not the biggest vegetable guy. So I do do the hidden stuff. And like in my book, I have like these great smoothies that are, they literally taste like cotton candy. And I don't know how I was
Starting point is 00:26:48 able to get it to taste like cotton candy. Um, but I hide like, like cauliflower, which for some reason makes it taste like cauliflower. It's like tastes like cotton candy. And so there are ways, and it does get easier when they get a little bit older because you can actually rationalize when, when they're talking back to you, you know, a little bit, but right now it's hard. It's super hard. I totally get it. I know. That's good to know. I need to do the cauliflower thing. So right now in my, in my kitchen, I have, I have do have spinach because I sneak that into smoothies, but he can still sniff it out. I have shredded chicken. Cause my, thank God, my husband does like a one big batch of shredded chicken that we sort of sprinkle for. I can give
Starting point is 00:27:25 you, I already have so many ideas. Okay, good. And then I have random, um, like random corn tortillas and, and we do have like some shredded cheese. Okay. So you cheese chicken and tortillas, you can easily make enchiladas, right? Bake it, put it together. You don't even have to roll them, make it like a damn lasagna yeah right stack it throw it in the in the in the oven and then those are really easy to freeze too which is great okay this is good um shredded chicken you can also do like a great chicken salad right if you have other stuff you know condiments um you can do when it's colder like shredded chicken is like one of those things that goes so many directions whether it's soft tacos or enchiladas or a soup chicken noodle soup or you know you've got the stock if
Starting point is 00:28:13 you still have, if it's like a bone in thing, making stock is really great. Um, those are great tortillas. You can make chips like homemade chips are really fun. I love that. You know? So if you make the chicken salad, make the tortillas into homemade tortilla chips, which take two seconds, and then you've got them tasting so much better than a bag. Wow. And then what was the other thing you had to just cheese, cheese, spinach. Yeah. Oh, spinach. Yeah. Spinach is great to put in muffins for kids but i know he may not be there yet no i did i did do that but i didn't have a great recipe okay so in my in my book i have a great okay uh veggie muffin recipe that my kids love and it has a lot to do with some good spices like cinnamon and nutmeg and all that that really
Starting point is 00:28:59 kind of hide the veggies oh that's it gosh i will also be eating that jack what's in your fridge for tiffany here we go again jack found it now the last time we were at jack's house the only thing in her fridge with champagne so we'll see if she even has something for champagne you do tell me because that's pretty much what i have the funny thing is is a lot of people are like when do you have leftover champagne sometimes i actually do because i can't really i can take down a whole bottle of wine but i can't take a whole bottle of champagne those bubbles will really give you acid reflux i know right so in my book i have um crepes which are also really good for kids that you make with champagne. What? How? Yes. I have my book here. If you want to
Starting point is 00:29:41 actually see it, it's so they're so good and they're so light and they are divine. So I have a section in my book that really base most of the recipes off of holidays. So I kind of break it up from like new years and like charcuterie boards, right? I always have leftover cheese and charcuterie boards i can show you to make these really yummy little cheese wheels made from the meat and the cheese leftover that are all broken up and half eaten off of a charcuterie board oh that's something needed that is something that i always throw away i feel guilty i know for easter i always have leftover ham i have a great spicy ham salad whoo but here here's here's the champagne crepes oh they're so great god i need those oh the book is gorgeous can you use so flat champagne or does
Starting point is 00:30:29 it doesn't have to be a little flat. No, it can be a little flat for sure. It's better with the bubbles, but it can be a little flat. I promise. I had no idea you could cook. I made this book as a love letter to my childhood. So I wanted people of our age to look at this and feel like they were looking at their mother's and father's kitchen, like, like the stuff in here. And even like the recipes too, some of them like ambrosia salad. My mom used to make that all the time for every potluck we would go to. Right. So I wanted a little bit of nostalgic, you know? Um, and I I really, it really is a love letter to my mother too, because as much as I made this book to teach my kid about food waste and really about kind of where we are in the world right now, my mom was
Starting point is 00:31:10 the queen of leftovers back then. Cause we didn't have a lot of money. So she was always stretching food from Monday to the rest of the week because my dad was working two jobs. We had, I had two brothers, like she was always trying to stretch as much as possible. So I really kind of grew up sort of with this sort of mentality with food. And now I'm really just kind of trying to instill in my kids, like, don't throw that away. You know, those chips are broken, but I can make something with it. Please don't put it in the trash. You know, that kind of thing. I love that. This is insane. Okay. Kelty, I can't wait to even hear what you have. Cause you're like, you better show her all three. I'm a hot disaster of a human. Here's what was in my,
Starting point is 00:31:48 I went, I went in my fridge this morning and I was like, what am I going to bring? So, okay. So you know, when you're a busy woman, all I basically do is go to Air One and get smoothies and drink those. So I have a very overpriced that I don't want to waste piece of Air One cheese. This is raw, raw sheep's cheese. Yeah. Okay. Okay. So I have Air One cheese, probably $10 worth of cheese. Why are you buying cheese from Air One? I'm an idiot. I have a cliff bar okay i have i'm gonna actually give you more than three because i have a whole like setup here okay i had these um patchology eye patches in my fruit well you need to put those on when you're in the kitchen right yeah okay there you go yeah i have this french vanilla syrup oh well you should
Starting point is 00:32:39 make a nice little latte out of that i have almond milk almond milk okay kitchen downstairs i'm gonna tell you what to, okay. I can, I have something for vanilla protein shake. Okay. I mean, you could throw that in, you could throw that in a few things if you wanted to, but it depends on how good that protein shake is. Cause if it tastes nasty, then you don't want to. No, it's good. It's really good. Is it a good one? I've never seen that brand. Okay. So the cheese, right? There's a couple of things you can do with the cheese. One, you should just eat it because it's awesome. I'm sure. But the rind you can make, you can make some really great based soups out of the cheese rind. Okay. Which is crazy. So good. Really, really good. You also can make, um, a really
Starting point is 00:33:21 good cacio e pepe pasta out of the cheese rind. Wait, I love that pasta. I don't know what's in it. Yeah. Well here it's in my book. There you go. Really easy. And it's, and it's a very easy recipe. My kids love it and it really can go with a lot of different cheeses, but that is done with leftover cheese for sure. Cause you really don't need a lot. Oh, wow. Um, I want to go back to your I want to go back to your almond milk right okay so one of the one of the things are you guys coffee drinkers oh yeah okay so one of the things that I also do is I sometimes have leftover coffee right and then a lot of times I will have a little bit more almond milk that it's not enough for like a bowl of cereal it's not enough for like a big recipe so I make cocoa ice cubes out of like
Starting point is 00:34:04 whatever preferred milk you want with cocoa right and a little bit of sugar and I make ice cubes out of it. And then I take the coffee that's left over from the morning and I make an amazing bottom of the pot mocha latte. Oh, that sounds so good. It's divine. So you're taking leftover coffee or you can make a fresh brew. It doesn't matter. But I'm saying I sometimes will have leftover coffee, coffee. And then I take my milk and I make these cocoa ice cubes that I keep in the fridge so I can always have iced coffee anytime I want. Wow. I notoriously have coffee leftover and feel so bad every time me too me too yep so i just buy like an ice tray and make that i'm trying to put starbucks out of business but you know it's for a good cause you know but
Starting point is 00:34:47 i love this feels like um you know when there's like somebody who has a tv show like a like a medium or a psychic or whatever and you're like but then get them live and see what they can do i know i'm blown away blew our minds you're the real deal because i was loving this morning i was like guys look what i have for tiffany this is gonna be so funny she's not gonna be able to do this the cliff bar is a little hard i i mean that one's a little hard a cliff bar what if you did the cliff bar with the um protein shake and a blender and made yourself like a little smoothie or something you probably could it's not gonna be a bad thing it would probably station but live your life it's like protein and protein i don't i don't need the cliff bar anymore i'm making
