Starting point is 00:00:00 well what is this welcome to the lady gang that's amazing say that again the lady gang things are about to change around here each week we catch up with hollywood's hottest girl posse kelty knight becca tobin and jack vanik hello hello hello welcome to lady gang i am becca tobin here with jack vanik and kelty knight good day good day good day fine ladies hi i like your half up half down hairstyle thank you it's really because i slept with wet hair and i had like the weirdest cowlicks all over my head you know when you do that um and then my hair in a pony it's so short right now that it's really tragic in any kind of like full on putting the hair up situation it's cute it's very 90s thank
Starting point is 00:00:49 thing about the bob is that it's causing me some issues with my air drying because when my hair was long it just air dried and just like went into like a boho air dry the bob is is drying triangular and it is hard for me because my underneath is so curly i actually found on tiktok this goes with our guest today that uh it's called polish hair when the top layer of your hair is completely flat and underneath is like a tiny sheep yeah who cut your bob just david at work so i think no no shade to david but he's mostly like a beautiful wonderful fabulous hairstyle like a moment i think if you went to like a really hair cutter cutter like dom the guy you know people who because i've noticed a bob you think is so straightforward but it actually does matter
Starting point is 00:01:41 who cuts it because that situation can be remedied a little bit, a little bit. Um, okay. Well, I'm excited about this episode, so let's get into it. It's time for good week. Yes, it is bad week. Oh no. Um, I'll go first cause I'm traumatized. Okay. Um, okay. So there's a lot of differing opinions, shocker of when to teach kids how to swim. There's the ISR technique where you literally throw the kid in and it's so insane so crazy when they're like a when they're like a newborn yeah there's video my parents did it's wild they did i feel like it wasn't around back then it was their version since i can remember no but you know what i have you seen the tiktoks where they throw like a six-month baby in the pool and then it like it's close on it teaches
Starting point is 00:02:33 them to like oh okay no they didn't try to drown me no that's what they do it's crazy and it listen no shade to the technique it is proven I mean it's it's saved I'm sure many many children's lives like it's I just don't have the guts for it maybe if I have another child like the second born is less fragile you care less about it I'll be like sure throw that kid in let's see what happens so I've had you know we have a pool in our backyard and Ford goes in with me and Zach every once in a while and he's not swimming by any stretch of the imagination he's three but there's this coach in our neighborhood or this coach that teaches a lot of the kids in the neighborhood coach kathy she's been around for a long time i feel like every major city
Starting point is 00:03:16 has a coach kathy right i feel like i was like coach kathy world she's like santa claus yeah it's like anywhere at all times i know exactly what coach kathy looks like just in my yeah i you know all right you could draw her it would be accurate um and so i got her information and my friend Odette and I, who both of our kids are in school together, they're used to learning things side by side. We thought this is going to be great. Let's get coach Kathy. And the way she was described to us was she's not gentle by any means, but she's also not throwing your kid in the water. It's just like an aggressive approach. We had our first lesson yesterday and it's four days in a row for 40 minutes. You get in the pool with him, with your child and she's in there with
Starting point is 00:04:02 you and it is aggressive like she's she's like you count to three and you push them under the water you count to three and like you push them like towards the wall you actually give them like airtime in the water to like swim to the wall and grab their little hands up they are coughing up water they are spitting out water they are sobbing sobbing sobbing ford is screaming mama mama like it is god zach and i were looking at each other like we're trusting the process but it is taking every ounce of my parenting motherhood to not stop and end this because i know that it works so but then are the kids traumatized for the rest of their lives we've been told that by date halfway through day two majority of children start to enjoy it and what's crazy is that
Starting point is 00:04:54 What day are you on? Today is day two. So yesterday was day one and this is day two. Okay, keep this posted. My good week is this. I thought that Zach, because I coordinated this whole thing and usually when I take charge and I do something, I don't do the right, I don't do it right.
Starting point is 00:05:11 Like Zach is the person, if I plan something, I get up. I just am not great at taking charge with this type of thing, but I did and Zach's in the pool with me and he's looking at me and we're looking at each other and he's, my son is clawing at my neck and coach Kathy's grabbing him from me and like pushing him under the water. It is crazy. And Zach's looking at me and I'm like, oh no, oh no. And I'm like really dreading the conversation Zach and I are going to have after bedtime. Right. And I was like, I look at Zach, we're brushing our teeth. I'm like, I am so nervous for tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:05:44 What do we do? And Zach was like, it's hard, but he felt a sense of accomplishment after. and that's like what this is about it's that he actually he didn't finish and say i never want to do that again i mean did he say he didn't want coach kathy to come back he did however he was very proud of himself after the swimming and so it was a big lesson in parenting i know everybody will disagree there's so many stupid techniques and ways to raise your children but as the first born he gets coddled so much and they do tell you like your kids need to skin their knees they need to learn resilience. They can learn to do hard things. And so I do feel slightly like Zach was, he nailed it and I didn't fuck up too badly. The jury's out and I will report back after day four,
Starting point is 00:06:34 but I am still petrified this whole day. I'm very stressed. Do you wear like a sexy bathing suit or do you wear like a normal bathing suit? Does Becca ever wear a sexy bathing suit? Yeah, but actually, you know what? You're right, you're right, you're right. Well, okay, listen, it was, this is actually something I thought about in the shower last night. I was like, Coach Kathy probably went home
Starting point is 00:06:57 and told her husband that like this mom wore a really skimpy bikini and it was very awkward because Odette wore a one piece, you know, understandably, but I was trying to get Ford excited for the swim lesson. So I was like, let's go pick out your bathing suit. And we put them all out and he picked them and he's like, And then he's like, let's go pick out your bathing suit to me. And so I let him go in the drawer.
Starting point is 00:07:21 Like for me, like definitely not a full coverage bottom agent provocateur, whatever. Yeah, it was very. And so I was thinking I am the mom. You should be in a sensible one piece to teach your kid that's clawing at you like how to swim. So yes, that was interesting. You ask. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:07:42 Wow. So funny. Who's next? I'll go. so my good week is i finally moved into my house i am podcasting from my living room you can see my cute little tiles behind me i was gonna say wow it's been a journey i like counted the time that we had not moved into our house since we bought it nine months nine i could have i could have birthed a baby a full baby in the time oh my god i mean it's everything that went wrong went
Starting point is 00:08:12 wrong, but we're finally like on the other side, there's still little things to finish, but like we're living in the house and it feels so good. When are you going to do a jack hammered tour of our house? Yeah. Well, maybe, well, this is going to be my bad week. We have no furniture at all. Cause we're starting like from zero. Yeah. So I'm using like our outdoor couch for indoors. We're eating on the floor. You know that I like, it takes me forever to make a decision. so it's and then I we ordered furniture but it's not coming until May when we're going to be in Japan all of our furniture is going to be delivered when we're in Japan so you've got uh the parents well my parents are coming with us wait your parents are going to Japan with you yeah wait
Starting point is 00:08:55 your parents are going to Japan with you yeah is Jared okay that's my next question well no this has been something we've talked about like living with your parents for nine months and now you're gonna go on a vacation out of their house and we're like we're going on vacation no we've been i have been talking to my parents about this for like our entire lives that we want to do like a trip like it's it's their they don't really travel that much it's like their big trip um but anyways but good thing we have neighbors i have well hopefully they'll help us um but yeah so hey i'm your new neighbor can you do the thing that everyone hates which is cut up cardboard no they just have to open like the garage and let them deliver something inside is it all coming in
Starting point is 00:09:40 one delivery no oh my god jack you gotta hire someone that's not i if my neighbor asked me to do that i would be like lose my number but i don't this is the whole thing i don't how do i hire somebody just like put something on instagram no i think you need somebody ask around like your neighbor i'd be like are there any high school kids or or i guess no they can't do that because they're going to be coming during the day and they're in school then they'd have a key to my house it's a whole thing I'll figure it out later but yeah yeah so anyways I'm happy to be at our home there's so much to do it's like never ending but I'm happy to be here what if you ask like one of your friends Alexis or somebody if they want to have a little staycation in Orange County and
Starting point is 00:10:22 stay at your house with you for you maybe yeah that's what I would do but there's no furniture to enjoy the house on until it gets there i guess there's a bed that's it and an outdoor couch well you know i'll figure it out you'll figure it out someone in the house because they're gonna give you the timelines of like we're gonna deliver between 10 and 7 i know you have to sit there and then i'll be in japan not knowing because i'll be sleeping when it's gonna ruin your vacation because you're gonna be like jared the people that'll come and you're gonna have to go text at four in the morning you need you need help okay okay your turn kelsey you need help you need you need a mr fixer-upper ken sitting there while you're on vacation haven't you not learned
Starting point is 00:11:03 anything from me i know i know oh my god okay um my good week is that there i'm gonna just say the name there's a facial place on la cienega in la called raya and it is the best kept secret in Hollywood. Now I will never be able to get in, but it's this four story building and it's all German, um, women doing facials and the facials are like $75, but I add on microderm to like one 50, which is like pretty affordable for an LA facial. I go to Lena. God damn it. Why am I saying this? Now I remember anyway, Lena is the fricking goat of facials. I was behind on like go in for facials. Cause I was like doing it at home and I just got lazy. I don't want to go over there. And I went over there and just being in Lena's hands, this woman takes her tools.
Starting point is 00:11:54 She goes inside my ear. Oh yeah. I love that. Oh, she does behind the back of the ear and inside the ear. And she's like, Oh, we've got to do a little surgery. And she pulled out Amelia that was like the size of a pinhead. And she was like, this has just been living in your ear. How gross. but like, she actually went in there. She cared. She goes inside my nose and gets the blackheads that kind of like live where you can see. It's just, you know what? Some people are just doing their work at a level that doesn't exist. I've been all over the world. I've gotten facials at the four seasons, places like that, where they literally like just rub some oil and they're like, okay, bye. I'm like, no, no. Lena gets in there with her tools, gets a zit out of my ear.
Starting point is 00:12:36 good job lena how do you spell raya r-a-y-a i've seen it before it's right by the it's right by the center yeah yep oh okay my bad week is this last year one of my investments for my house was to put a water softener in my house because la water is so crunchy it's bad for your skin. It's bad for your hair. So I paid one, two, three, four, five, $6,000 to put in a Culligan water system. And I was very excited about it. And when they put it in, I noticed a change right away. My hair got shiny. My skin got beautiful. Chris and I's skin was calm. It was just really, even Callie's coat was soft. It was amazing. And then I was like, I woke up like three weeks ago and I was like, I don't think that my water softener is working anymore after I spent
Starting point is 00:13:36 all that fricking money. So then I had Derek call and they've been adding the salt. They're supposed to come every month and check it. So then we find out that they haven't come in six months. Then every time they've come, someone's been in the way. Oh, the tent, the house was tented in December for the termites. I was like, so you didn't come back next week. Oh, January, blah, blah, blah. So I paid all this money to get the salt and then it ran out and no one came to fix it. And now they came and fixed it, but I don't think they put enough salt. So now they're asking me to leave out a water sample on Friday. You know what, Culligan? Fuck you. I paid all this money for this system And I just want soft hair and you are making it so difficult for me.
Starting point is 00:14:22 You want a water sample? Why don't you just go find a hose that's attached to the house and take your own water sample? You know what I mean? Or just put enough salt, put too much salt. Like I'm so annoyed. I just want soft, shiny hair. God damn it. Everything is hard.
Starting point is 00:14:37 Just put it in and have it work. Jeez. That's a rich person problem. I know. I was just being like, this is like a scene on white Lotus. i am not meant to live in uncomfortable situations i'm not made for it am i like the only person in the world that hates soft water i think it's disgusting will you like your hair to be crunchy no i just feel like you can't get clean i feel like it feels like there's soap on you all the
Starting point is 00:15:02 time good that's called yeah it's life's grease it's very wet water um but i will say when we did this to our in our house um ford's eczema really did clear up really because there was a lot of chlorine in our natural water hives.com jack okay when we come back tings is here now back to the lady gang okay lady game brace yourself because today's guest is about to bring the spicy heat she's the queen of viral tiktok starter pack extraordinaire and the only person who can make brunch sound like a spiritual experience, but she's not just a TikTok legend. She's also the host of her own podcast and Sirius XM show. She's a published bestselling author and named one of Forbes top creators in 2022 and 2023. And now she's bringing us her debut novel,
Starting point is 00:15:52 Hotter in the Hamptons, that blends romance, sex, humor, and sizzling drama. Please welcome back to the lady gang, our friend, TikTok's big sister, the one and only Tinkst. Hi, guys. What an intro. I'm not worthy. Thank you for having me back. I love you all. I love keeping up with all of your shenanigans on social media, like all the cool corners of the world that you are traveling to, that you are doing metaphorically, literally. It's very cool to see. So thank you for having me back. Oh, we love you. Thank you. Just me personally, as one of my favorite followers on Instagram, you are teaching me how to dress appropriate for a millennial but also keeping up with gen z
Starting point is 00:16:33 i think it's a hard line to balance and you do it well it's so hard and i'm kind of like i got to a point where i was like okay i am a millennial and i'm proud and i am going to rely on the things that i know make me feel good i i love it going out top have i updated them slightly for sure but i love going out top okay if i want to throw on a tall boot with a slim pant i shall okay and it's all right and i think honestly i i i will always love millennial fashion so thank you for saying that well you're keeping us cool are you doing the bolero how how far into going out top are we do have you worn a sequin bolero not yet you know i'm dabbling in a little peplum again just because it feels good to get it back out there you know it does cinch your waist okay sue me it does cinch
Starting point is 00:17:18 your waist all right i like it um so you know what i don't care anymore gen z they're sort of I saw a couple of TikToks where they're kind of like, wait, maybe millennials are actually kind of nice and cool. And I was like, yeah, you guys have been sleeping on us the whole time. We're really nice and we're really cool. And you guys do trends way too fast. And that's why you're all unhappy is because you have a new trend each day. We would have trends for two or three years and we would really hold on to them. Exactly. I actually mentioned this on our podcast a couple of weeks ago. You were my good week because I was watching one of your TikToks about millennials. And I think you said something like to be millennial is to be free or something like
Starting point is 00:17:56 that. And I was like, yeah, to be, to be cringe is to be free. And like when you, when you embrace it and you're just like, oh my God, like once you realize the construct of cringe is actually the most cringe thing of all, like you're going to spend your one precious life thinking everything is embarrassing. That sounds terrible. And also like, I love how, how like raring to go millennials are. We love with our whole hearts.
Starting point is 00:18:20 we get so involved and also like gen z just doesn't show up like they just don't show up in the same way we do and i i like enthusiasm so i'm kind of like ah if you think i'm cringe that's cool like where by the way where are all the gen z companies oh oh wow that's a great point i'm pretty sure that millennials took every vertical and redid them and made them amazing suitcases we redid it toothpaste we redid it kids food we redid it bras whatever we we redid everything we updated it and made it nice and cute soda which just yeah who's the founder of poppy a millennial woman so you know a woman millennial exactly so i'm just like oh where where is the where are the gen z companies a lot of talking okay not a lot of doing you know what
Starting point is 00:19:13 Tinksy, this is a great segue for us. Wait, can I first publicly apologize for falling into the cringe trap and being worried about being cringe? So we recently did a live show in Austin, right? And we're sending each other our outfits for the live show. And Kelty and Jack are sending the outfits and Kelty sends a very Western style dress, right? And I wrote back and I was like, well, I think we should be less Destiny's Child Western because people really do make fun of Californians that come to Austin, put on hats and cowboy boots. And you know what? I regret it because enthusiasm is, I wasn't even yucking your yum, Jack. It was Kelty. But I love a Destiny's Child moment. Right, right. No, no, no. You're right. You're right. This was, but this was more,
Starting point is 00:20:02 I yucked Kelty's yum. She was excited about a dress and Kelty's charm is enthusiasm. And Kelty's charm is that she, I don't like the term cringe, but some may say she has moments of cringe, but we could all just wish to wake up one day and live out loud the way Kelty does. So I apologize. You should have worn the Western dress. And I, I really, I'm sorry. Well, thank God I wore a denim top and bottom that still felt a little country chic. The denim dress I had actually just gotten from a pretty big designer in Columbia. So I felt like I was like, right, but I knew I was wrong, but also my vagina would have been out and that's not professional. So you actually helped me keep my vagina in for another day. And this is a great
Starting point is 00:20:48 segue into hotter in the Hamptons by tanks. Now I'm going to say this out loud. Um, I know other people are going to get mad when I say this, but not everyone should write novels. Okay. This is not you tinks, but not everyone should write novels. Something happens. Something's happening right now in publishing where they see influencers, people that are famous, that can sell books. And you've maybe already written your how to do life like me book. And then they're like, you know what you should write a novel as someone who is now we're all big readers here in the lady gang. So I was a big novel reader. Sometimes I have to read them and I am disappointed. Tinks, I was not disappointed by hotter in the Hamptons. I think that you're really onto something.
Starting point is 00:21:39 Um, I think it's because I think it's so good because you have such a grasp culturally from the work that you've done. And I know you were a writer before, so it like makes sense. This what you were doing before you became an internet star. But what a great beach read. Um, it is like exactly what you want it to be. So I just want everyone to know that this is one of those books like that is absolutely worth picking up and reading because the story is right. The sex is right. It's real. It's not real. That's it. That's my review. You can quote me. that's so kind that means the world to me thank you I really just want I want people to just like have fun by the pool this summer like I want people to just like be hot like you know when
Starting point is 00:22:28 you just start a book and you're like oh my god this is going to be like really easy to read and like it's exactly what I need for right now and I just want to escape into this like little little world thank you for saying that that's so kind and I had a lot of fun writing it I wanted to do something creative and lighthearted and fun. And I just want to make people horny by the pool this summer. So thank you. It's like the real housewives of book reading. Like it's like you get into it and you start really caring, but it's so mindless that like you can pick it up and put it down and fall asleep and maybe have a few cocktails while you're reading it. Like it's perfect. Thank you for saying that. Okay. My next question is,
Starting point is 00:23:07 tinks tinks tinks tinks tinks why are you so good at writing sex scenes for the ladies you know I'm like a little I've always liked talking about sex I like I talk about sex a lot on my show I like talking about porn I like talking about like I like listening to audio porn I don't know if you guys know the app Quinn it's really amazing female founded app um I'm I've always been like kind of a little bit of a pervert I don't know like I loved I love sex so sexual I wanted to yeah I'm like suck yeah and I wanted to I wanted to just open people's minds to new fantasies and I wanted it to be kind of like tap into a fantasy that I think a lot of women have which is to be with another woman and like I wanted to get in the mind of like that
Starting point is 00:23:59 first time when you're like nervous because it's new but it's like exciting because it's new again and whatever. So thank you for saying that. I hope that people enjoy it. This is something as a millennial woman, I do envy the younger generations for. We put ourselves in boxes right away very quickly. And usually it was the biggest box, the one that received the least amount of scrutiny. And I think this is why we're seeing a lot of divorcees moving into lesbian relationships and i wish i had known it was an option not that i'm finding that i want to have a sexual encounter with a woman i wish i had tried it like i i wish that i had explored that yeah yeah yeah there's like a part of the inspiration was also like i was doing an
Starting point is 00:24:53 ama on my instagram like a year and a half ago and someone was like tanks like do you think it's normal if I like think about like having sex with a woman when I'm having sex with my boyfriend and I was like yeah like that's in your head that's your fantasy like that's your mind like don't shame yourself you know what I mean and and then someone was like tanks do you think it's normal if I watch a little lesbian porn and I was like oh my god like it's okay like we need to all just allow ourselves a little bit more freedom of the mind freedom to explore all that so yeah I'm, I'm excited for people to, to read it and, you know, maybe even awaken a few new fantasies in people.
Starting point is 00:25:35 Inspire. Well, and you're giving everyone the full charcuterie board because she's in a heteronormative relationship and then she goes off. So you're getting, you get all the tastes. All the tastes. And then a heavy dose of influencer culture background, which I know everyone is gagged. to discuss so let's talk like you know i feel like a lot of people talk about like the influencer world and i'm like well i've been in it you know now for a few years so let me just put this as
Starting point is 00:26:07 the backdrop because people seem endlessly fascinated by like the inner workings of it so i wanted i thought that was fun for this book too just because it adds another layer of like when i was younger i don't know if you guys ever read like the original gossip girl books like the like the OG that the show was based on. And it was so like, I mean, I was, you know, I was like 12, 13, 14 when I was reading these books and I was dying to go to New York. And I remember reading about the places they'd go and the things that they would do and the things that they'd eat. And I wanted to make it like that. Like I wanted to make it a book where you were, you were like, Oh my God, what is that thing? Or like, I want to go smell that perfume because
Starting point is 00:26:45 she's wearing it or whatever. Like, I really wanted that to be a big part of it because I, I love books like that too. Like I always want to know, I want to be in the know, like I want to know what's going on. I think that's why I love Real Housewives. I think that's why I love, you know, knowing about rich moms all over the place. Like I like that stuff. So I wanted that to be a big part of it as well. Okay. We're going to talk in a second about the fact that this is being, you know, turned into a TV series, but I want to know, you moved to New York, Becca and I's old stomping ground. You're in like a loft area with a brick background. She's living her best like West Village dreams, I feel like right now. How has
Starting point is 00:27:21 that changed you? I love it. I honestly it was it was I was called to go back to New York. And it's definitely the right time for me to be back here. It's so fun. I mean, the energy I don't like being alone. I you know, I love to go out. I like to have fun. And so just to be in the thick of it again is such an honor. And New York can be a really tough city, of course, but it is just so fun because every, I think like nobody passively lives in New York because it is so, it's such an intense living experience. So every day you're around, you know, all of these people who wake up and choose this choice. They're like, I'm here for a reason, whether it's following a dream, whether it's following love, whether it's following, you know, just whatever, like the
Starting point is 00:28:02 calling you have, like it's a, it's a city of very, um, alive, activated people. And that's very inspiring. So I I'm loving it so far. I could use a little bit more sun, but that's okay. I will survive. We have baked hand for that. It's coming. Exactly. Boom. Um, fashion week just happened in New York. Did you learn anything that you can tell the girlies that we should be doing? I, you know, fashion week in New York has changed so much. I think it's still obviously cool, but I, it's all moving. All the people are showing in Paris. Like you've got a lot of American designers show in Paris now. So I don't know. It was a little bit, it was a little bit, different this time. But I don't know. What have I learned? I think, look, to go back to what we
Starting point is 00:28:47 were saying before, I actually think that the crazy micro trend thing is on its way out. And I think that we're going to see a return to personal style, whatever that is. I think for me, when I look at the coolest people that I follow on Instagram, they don't follow every trend. They have a very, they almost have like a uniform or they have, oh, like, I think that, you know, someone has a strong sense of personal style where you can say, look at a dress and go, oh, that person would love that dress or whatever. Like, I think we're going to see a much bigger return to that because it's getting boring. We all buy the same, you know, leopard print jeans off TikTok shop. And then we all look around and go, oh, well, everyone's got them. I don't want
Starting point is 00:29:24 them anymore. You know, it's like, how much can we do that? We're all going broke buying all this stuff off of, you know, every day. So I think that like investing in pieces, you know, thrifting cool pieces and really developing your own sense of style is what we're going to see go forward, which I'm really excited about, honestly. What would you say your personal style is? I really like to dress for the occasion or my surroundings. So, I mean, I think I have quite a fun girly style when I go out. And then in the day I have quite like a casual style, but I like to almost pretend like I'm a Barbie. I'm like, oh, I'm going to this. Like I want to dress for this event like i want to be you know i'm going to the south of france okay then i'm
Starting point is 00:30:10 going to wear like a long yellow gown and like do that right or oh i'm going to the upper east side i want to wear a tweed suit like i i like to play into the fun of it um so i don't know in a way i don't know how you describe that but i really like to like play into my surroundings thematic dressing this should be thematic dressing yeah i'm like one of those people you like that too jack she's like i'm at unless it requires a regular chop not a crop top i like having parameters for what you're doing because then it's like okay i don't have every option in the entire world it's like i'm going to a western or stagecoach or something like that it's like okay now i get what i'm gonna do yeah love a theme love a you know love some guidelines
Starting point is 00:30:52 that's the best okay so i've prepared a game for us to play today uh and i was really proud of myself for the title. It's called Tink or Sink. And because you're sort of a dating, the dating guru for millennial Gen Zs, what we're going to do is we're going to get everyone's hot takes on all the celebrity relationships right now. And I have a lot of them. If you think that this is love forever, and we are obsessed with them as a couple, we tink. If we think that we're going to enjoy watching it we do not think that this is your forever love we're gonna sink fabulous all right okay ready we're gonna start with an easy one selena and benny i love them tink tink tink they're so cute like i i love the songs i'm here for all of it and i just feel like he's inspiring
Starting point is 00:31:47 like a whole generation of girls to not settle like he the way he speaks about her when he that clip when he was like i wake up and i think like how can i make her life better like that's kind of it ladies like that's that's what we all want and deserve and like i am here for it and also i just feel like when people are really in love they seem very calm around each other and those two seem very like calm and like sweet around each other so i'm safe i'm tink yeah for sure I love him so much. Tink, tink, tink, tink. Okay.
Starting point is 00:32:17 Ashanti and Nelly just had a baby. I'm going to go tink. I think it's a tink. They dated when they were 16. Oh, really? Yeah. Do you know who this is even, Jackie? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:30 Yeah, no, I do. You know it's getting hot in here to take off all your clothes? Okay. Yes. They dated when they were teens, and then they went off into their other worlds, married other people, whatever, and then they're back together in like our 90s dreams. She just had a baby. she wants to have more I don't know there's something really cute about the reconnection
Starting point is 00:32:48 I'm gonna tink it no I love it and also I love like like she's a woman having kids over 40 and I'm like obsessed with that and I think it's cool to see it's like I love that representation and also like if you want to like if it if it's supposed to come back around it will I really believe that I love them like it's literally our 90s dream like think about them together in the 90s and now they're back like I love it I'm obsessed actually Meryl Streep and Martin Short love love so much you have to say it guys it's a game tank tank tank yeah it does sort of break my heart that you know she was this mysterious their relationship was a little bit mysterious It was a little Dolly Parton and Carl Dean, Carl Dean, where you didn't see him on red carpets, her her ex.
Starting point is 00:33:43 They were living outside of the world of Hollywood. It was really admirable. And you really want it. I was rooting for that. And I guess it is still a success that they made it as long as they did. But I'm obsessed with her and Marty. i just love that they are not saying yes or no like they are giving us mystery in your 70s like are they or aren't they like you're thinking about that for ariana grande ethan slater you're
Starting point is 00:34:18 not thinking about that for meryl streep you know what i mean she's like i gave you everything i gave you all the best performances in my life i will not give you this like they're just with us they're yeah with us on purpose and i am here for it i love it yeah i agree okay um okay last one this is new harry jowsey and lucy hale oh my god together oh my god i saw that they like fully announced that they're dating i'm like i i don't know if i like think it's end game because i think that they're both very very young but i'm like so into it like yeah why not isn't she our age yeah she's not young i mean we're all young he's very young we're all young harry jowsey has bde he was in the um he was in the office the other day he's tall he's tall no he's tall i've
Starting point is 00:35:11 been on a influencer trip with him before and he's like he's really sweet like he's nice i i had a nice time like he's got this and he's sweet so you're like oh are you sweet or are you like not sweet yeah he was very nice to us he just i don't know i feel like he's the kind of guy that i dated so many times when i was younger that i'm like i'm gonna be the one that changes him like he's been like this with so many other girls before but like with me it'll be different and i feel like girls just keep falling into his trap because he keeps dating these like a plus plus like tens and he sets it up every single time yeah maybe this one day he'll learn he's also only 27 and she's 35 i feel like it can work i'm not like a poo-poo on that age difference but
Starting point is 00:35:54 i feel like she's done so much work on herself for it seems over the last couple years the maturity that she's exuding i doubt a 27 year old man who's gallivanting around new york is going to match that energy say it like it is okay that was fun um tinks one thing i want to ask you about before we get to our listener questions is holy crapola they optioned your book for tv now was how where in the process because you hadn't even really announced the book I mean the book got announced and then two weeks later they're like we're making a tv show like how did that all happen so crazy we announced it and then it got sent around to different producers which I guess is how it works and they were like oh the foster sisters really like it and I was like you're
Starting point is 00:36:42 kidding I mean obviously I worship them they are so smart they really know how to make things that people want whether it's clothes whether it's their podcast like they just like they get it and so the fact that they you know see something in the book is just amazing and I feel so lucky and I cannot believe I'm going to be an executive producer first time so I'm so excited to learn how to do that and just to you know get a new skill and I just feel very very lucky and just couldn't couldn't love them more who's the dream cast right now you know i have i have some i have a wish list i don't want to jinx it i'm delusional like the people that are on my list a list all right i i don't care though i'm putting it out and into the universe i put it on my manifestation list every
Starting point is 00:37:30 night i check it i send good thoughts so we'll see but i i have some people in mind for for lola and ally but um you know whatever they'll make it great i trust them so much and it's going to be a really fun experience amazing all right when we come back we have listener questions you're listening to the lady gang all right we are back it is time to ask the lady gang all right listener number one roadhead help my boyfriend picked me up from a tipsy girls night after he got off work i was drunk and horny and decided to give him roadhead for the first time ever i was holding back my vomit either from his post-work dick motion sickness or a mix of both he loved it though and now mentions it every time we're driving instituting he wants it again
Starting point is 00:38:19 the thought of this makes me want to throw up how do i politely tell him never again i think you just gotta say babe never again like i'm sorry that was a one-time thing i think you just gotta be honest with that one i mean it's a fun thing it's not an everyday thing it's not like a going to get coffee thing it's like a you know it's a fun thing because it's a once in a while random once in a blue moon type of thing is it safe though this is my problem this feels like stranger danger this is not a safe thing to be doing everyone well i would say yes to a pull over in a safe location head but i'm not interested in you know what that is distracted driving a hundred percent we want to be safe it's it's it's distracting for him because your head is
Starting point is 00:39:08 probably so fire that he was gonna he's gonna like veer off the road so just yeah like it's a safety issue i did it once i don't want to like you know i realized how much how much your eyes were closed okay uh listener number two i hygiene red flag oh god okay i went on my first date in months at a restaurant. He went to the bathroom when we first got there and I went in the middle of dinner. When I got back, he said, I smelled really good. I told him it was the soap in the bathroom. He said he didn't notice because he didn't wash his hands and that he added, he only washes his hands after going number two. I couldn't even finish my food after this. The cherry on top is he tried to hold my hand as we were leaving. This is bigger than your average ick, right? We
Starting point is 00:39:51 were hitting it off before I found out, but now I want to ghost him. Oh my God. No. Yeah. I ghost him that's gross because like even if that's true the fact that you would say number two on a date like on the first date like get help like seek help like come on be real that's ridiculous to say that like out loud don't admit that at least lie i can't believe he's literally touching his dick in the bathroom and then probably eating a finger food like a french fry and then maybe like cupping your face trying to kiss you after sick the only time it's fit it's okay to not wash your hands after you pee is if you pee in the middle of the night right yeah i don't wash a hundred percent in the middle of the night yeah i don't wash my hands after i pee at home i'm using toilet
Starting point is 00:40:38 paper yeah and my toilet flushes automatically like i'm not touching anything yeah is this women are different we have we have more of like an intuitive like knowledge of what's dirty and what's not you know men don't like men like you know like i i would trust you like i i i would trust most women to know okay it's time to watch you know whatever like we get it i i just i yeah i don't think men know like they they have rules that they kind of stick to and they're not always right and they're not well and he could have just been like oh my god you smell great and then she was like oh is the soap and just be like like totally well totally yeah even beyond that it's just like it sounds like he has no social cues and like yeah okay confident or cocky i've been
Starting point is 00:41:29 casually dating a guy for four months we just recently followed each other on instagram and he posts to his stories a lot at least two selfies a day his coffee when he wakes up his lunch when he's off work at the gas station like he's an influencer i guess i've never dated a guy who uses social media this much but it's kind of weird to me should I mute him or just end it now end it now end it now end it now but maybe okay hold on in his defense maybe he really likes you and he knows you're looking at the stories and so he wants to like share his life with you yeah I just think like Instagram stories mainly for the girls you know that's an us thing like we get that you know like i also it's just like the things that boys think to post they are like
Starting point is 00:42:20 coffee and i'm like if you're gonna post a coffee my girlfriends are posting the most elaborate coffees they're telling me about the new coffee shop there's some latte art like i want to know what new nut milk she's using like there's a point of interest okay it's with a guy it's literally like a ceramic mug and it's just like plain coffee and i'm like cool like okay or they do like a golf of course, but it's like not even centered. Like I'm like, my husband, it's so tragic. I mean, um, yeah, I just, is this us? Like make it is cringe behavior from a man. So are we being hypocritical? Listen, I could never, I could never, ever, ever date a man who was regularly posting on social media certainly not his coffee however if she's well she's clearly
Starting point is 00:43:13 not fine with it she wrote in but i don't know maybe he likes documenting his life i mean i know i'm i think it's also i mean she's obviously not okay with it some people are okay with it some people don't care and they're like give me all the selfies but it might not mesh the vibes might not work i feel like the only person who should be using in scrim stories is david my hairdresser at e who is like doing it for the gays he's getting like they are at the gym being like today and they're like muscles are out and he's like pulling down his pants and he's like super hot but that's like that's the gay mating call you know what i mean like a straight man has nothing to offer us in stories that we want to look at in my opinion don't cancel me but i'm
Starting point is 00:44:00 just saying that this is how I feel. And there's also, I'm going to end it with, there's also an always an ulterior motive. Like there's a reason why they're doing this. So it's either like Tinks was saying for you to see, or maybe for somebody else to see, or like an ex to some, there's something going on. They just don't do it to do it. Or they're trying to be an influencer. There's a man in my neighborhood who won't stop posting about his cyber truck. And I can sense that he's really wanting to merge his life into influencer territory. Oh my God. God help us all. God help us all. Yeehaw. Well, Tinks, congratulations.
