Starting point is 00:01:38 But hurry up, because they are really going fast. Lady World, presented by Elf Cosmetics, takes over Destin this September. It's time for a quickie. Podcast One presents The Lady Gang, The Hollywood Girl Posse with Lady Gang Quickie. Here's Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek. Let's make this quick.
Starting point is 00:02:04 Hello, hello, hello. Welcome to the Lady Gang Quickie. I am here with Jack and Kelty. This is Becca. It's a special day. It's a special day. We're very excited to announce our partnership with 21 Seeds Infused Tequila for Lady World.
Starting point is 00:02:19 This is a big deal for us because we knew we needed the perfect cocktails for all our events. And we're doing VVIP, our walk tales on the beach. We'll have a setup in the venue. We'll have a setup. We wanted something that was light and refreshing. And we love that this brand was founded by three women and we're using our power responsibly. It's like when we can promote something, are we going to promote a man brand? No, hopefully not to promote a woman led brand is so exciting. And so we made three cocktails for the weekend. I'm starting off with the Beach Please, which is made with the Valencia orange infused tequila. And what's nice about the
Starting point is 00:02:58 infused tequila is they already have the flavors in them. So you don't get that like sticky flavor syrup. Like, you know, if you've had two drinks and you start to be like, oh, I don't want this taste anymore. It's like the lightest, most refreshing, delicious drink. And I love this called Beach Please. Beach Please. I am drinking the grapefruit glow. It's made with their grapefruit and hibiscus tequila. This is so delicious. It's also so easy to make all of my jacktails that I would make over the years. I overcomplicated so much. This took me 30 seconds. It has a little bit of soda water. So there's like a little bit of carbonation and then just grapefruit, simple syrup, tequila, good to go. Lime juice. That's it. And I have the spice queen because
Starting point is 00:03:42 that's who I am inside and out. She's spicy and shows this drink, but not too spicy. It's the perfect amount of spice. And this was the cucumber jalapeno. And when I opened it, the aroma of jalapeno and the cucumber, so fresh. This drink is also super simple, but very delicious. It's tequila, simple syrup, lime juice. And I think that's it. A little garnish? My cucumber and lime garnish. Bada bing. And we love this because 21 Seeds is about, it's not just about, oh, it's a cocktail. It's about,
Starting point is 00:04:19 making a memory. And so we make memories every single week right here in this podcast studio. We're going to make so many more amazing memories at Lady World and we can't wait for everyone to join us. And thank you, 21 Seeds. And now we're going to play a game, but first we're going to have a cheers to the ladies. So good. Oh yeah. You know what I like too, is that you could have the grapefruit and then you could go to this and it's the flavor's so light you could switch between. Oh no, they compliment each other. I just love it so much. And I wanted to know like for you guys, when tequila was like a moment and not just a drink. And I think for me, it's about like the friendships, like we get so busy in life. It's like, I know it's going to be
Starting point is 00:05:01 a fun night of like getting a little wild and truth bombing. And like, I just feel excited when like Chris is like, okay, it's time to have a cocktail and like pop down a cocktail. And I'm like oh we're not gonna be like boring people tonight we're gonna have like it's a moment it's like a social moment and you know I don't like a social moment so it's a big deal for me um I remember so when Jared and I reconnected on Warped Tour I went to go visit him in Florida and he had been on Warped Tour for like two months straight like basically never left the venues and we like ventured out for the first time and went to this bar and I remember we both had margaritas and it was like the first real drink that we had together outside of this one little world that we knew each
Starting point is 00:05:47 other in so I'll never forget that it's like kind of a first date but yeah it was like our kind of first date yeah um I have a very vivid memory of coming out of the pandemic the pandemic and for the first time having a social engagement and our two best friends John and Joey they are like the ultimate hosting house John's a chef and he's just so good with flavors he's always making delicious cocktails at the house. And Ollie will never forget. We walked through the door and it was truly the first time I had seen people inside. And I remember I made gray roots for like four inches long, but I put on a shoe and jewelry and I walked in and he has this tray with like spicy margaritas with all these different things from the garden to garnish.
Starting point is 00:06:36 it was all tequila based cocktails, obviously. And I just felt like this is the best period punctuation mark to the end and the beginning of a time. I love it. I love it. So good. Well, cheers to friendship. Cheers. Okay. So I thought today we would play a game on this podcast. It is called truth or 21 seeds tequila. If you tell the truth, you can just tell the truth. If you don't want to tell the truth, you can take a sip. First one. Have you ever name dropped to get something for free? Like myself? I have a fake assistant and I have an email address for her. Is it Becca Tobin assistant or whatever? It's something along those lines. No, no, no. I know. But I won't say it. Yeah. And I will occasionally, if it's something I'm really wanting and I don't want to
Starting point is 00:07:26 go through the proper channels, I will send an email for my assistant and I won't say a name because in case anyone's listening and has received an email from this person. Yeah. I'm going to guess the name. I don't know why a name came to my head. What? Abby. No. Elizabeth. A great one though.
Starting point is 00:07:40 I know. Abby, the assistant. I don't know why. I mean, I name drop myself all the time because I'm a little less shameless than Becca and have way less followers. So I just don't even care to have the fake assistant. So I do it to myself. I've never named dropped anybody else. Cause I don't really know anybody name drop worthy. Right. You know? Okay. I mean, you know us, but that's fine. I'd rather, I mean, we're not really name drop. No, you know, it's true. If you drop it, no one will pick it up. I mean, Lady Gang is more of a droppable name, but I'm not going to be like, well, you know, I've probably named dropped both of you, but it's like when you know somebody. Yeah. Not just like, you know, Joe on the street, you know, Kelsey Knight,
Starting point is 00:08:22 give me this thing for free yeah rude okay I'll try um I name drop pretty much every day my whole life is a name drop yes but I name drop with purpose and it's usually to for the betterment of lady gang you know it's like we've had we've done a thousand episodes of this podcast I will repeat the same seven people whenever I'm pitching people to come on the podcast I'm like we've had Sharon Stone we've had RuPaul we have like I'm never like we had the 15th lady from blah blah blah on who like doesn't matter you know what i mean so i'm a selective name dropper but i actually am bad at name dropping myself for free stuff like i'm so jealous of how good you are at that because my house everything in this house i freaking paid for it and it's annoying but like
Starting point is 00:09:09 i see you and you've got free cutlery i mean i want cutlery you gotta hustle damn them and tell them no i tried to do the thing that jack does which is like i was like i'm going on a trip What are the best bathing suit brands? I saw you do that. And then I replayed them thinking that I'd be like, Jack and all the bathing suit brands would be like. No, that's not how you get them. Oh. I mean, that can work too, but that's a hard one because it's, if they're not seeing it, it's tough. I know. So there's two ways of going about this. You either follow the account and go and make a comment on the recent picture or post. And then sometimes they'll see it and they'll be like, oh, you're a fan of the brand. Or you could just shamelessly DM them and say,
Starting point is 00:09:46 hey, I love your brand and I'm wondering if you want to do a trade for social media. You know, it's simple. This episode of Lady Gang is brought to you by e.l.f. We're so freaking excited to have e.l.f. as our presenting sponsor for Lady World. You don't even know what we have planned. We have so much planned for you. But right now I want to talk to you about the Bite Size Eyeshadows. These are pigmented mini eyeshadow palettes that deliver four creamy blendable colors.
Starting point is 00:10:13 Let me just tell you, there's one of these palettes for me that's called Rosewater. It's got kind of like a dark browny maroon, like a creamy sort of rosy color, a very nude color, and then like a light champagne-y pink. It is the perfect eyeshadow palette, and it's tiny. It takes up no room in your bag, so you have tons of room for all your flip-flops and sun hats and bathing suits when you come to Lady World. You don't need a big eyeshadow. you need a bite size but the colors are so creamy and absolutely gorgeous they have matte shades
Starting point is 00:10:45 shimmer shades and we love that they come in this like little compact big impact all elf products are vegan and cruelty free and we're so excited to partner with elf for our lady world festival see you in florida you better have your mini little eyeshadows and all your other elf products guys the eyeshadow palette is three bucks it's three dollars three one two three dollars available the lady gang what is the most embarrassing thing you've ever done at an industry event i've been to like one industry event and i remember something kelty did oh with um connie britain when you chased her out of catch yeah that was crazy what into oh yeah it was a bravo it was an e bravo it was something for e yeah nbc's holiday party yes talk about shameless
Starting point is 00:11:38 Yeah. And what did you scream at her? Tammy Taylor? Yeah. I love Tammy Taylor. Yeah. I actually don't think she was annoyed by it. No?
Starting point is 00:11:46 I think she loves it. I think she's very normal. I think she's like really down to earth. Like if someone yelled Kitty Wild at you, you would be like, oh my God, thanks. You don't hate it. But you chased her to the elevator. And she was blowing her nose. I think she had a cold.
Starting point is 00:12:00 Yeah. It was a different. The vibes were interesting. Becca, have you ever done anything at an industry event? Just got like a weird massage from a D-list celebrity. Oh, I think I remember this. You know, like sitting on a baguette. At least it wasn't like peak hours of the industry event.
Starting point is 00:12:16 It was after hours. After hours, yeah. I did. I did receive a back massage from a D-list celebrity. It was quite inappropriate. Was the massage good? I don't remember. I was just too embarrassed that I was getting it
Starting point is 00:12:28 and I didn't know how to be like, oh, no, thank you. Yeah. I think my most embarrassing thing is I wore a pair of lace culottes to, like, a women in Hollywood event a few years ago, and I really thought, oh, my God. That is the moment. They were from Rent the Runway. It was back then.
Starting point is 00:12:45 I couldn't afford to, like, buy all the nice clothes. It's like a lease Rent the Runway crotch situation. It was a choice for sure. Is dirty. Okay. Have you ever secretly hated something Lady Gang has done but gone along with it? I mean, not secretly, but Lady Gang TV.
Starting point is 00:13:00 Okay. Very outwardly hated it. Guilty. God, I don't know, because they're always my ideas yeah so it's like it always seems like a good idea until it's not um oh um probably for me it's when we all decided in Arizona that we were going to get burritos from the store next door and we're like after show burritos yes and then I got my burrito but it was full of chicken and I don't eat meat so that is probably that's just an accident I should have
Starting point is 00:13:33 eaten the chips like I normally do. Okay. Have you ever gone through a partner's phone without them knowing? No. Not this current one, but I've done it to others. Really? Really? Not because I was looking for something, just out of curiosity. You know, it's like, I mean, I married Zach at almost 30, but it's in your twenties. If you look through your person's phone, you're going to find something. Oh yeah. Whether it's cheating or not, you're going to find something you don't like. Because the way that I would text other guys when I had, quote, a boyfriend in my 20s was not appropriate and vice versa. Kelsey, I feel like you have.
Starting point is 00:14:11 I mean, when we, Chris and I first started dating, we had a rule because I had such trust issues that he just left his phone open and I was allowed to look at it. Like he'd just leave it on the counter and I would just pick it up and start like scrolling through it. But then I was like, I shouldn't have told him I'm doing that because then he could just be erasing everything. He could probably have a burner phone. like if he was really smart, but now I don't care. There's been a couple of times where like
Starting point is 00:14:33 his phone has been open and I've like looked over his shoulder and I'm seeing like what's because now he's an international man of superstardom. And so he's got, it's not the text that I'm worried about. It's the WhatsApp, but what's, you know, like it's the WhatsApp and it's so confusing and a little harder to peek on. I'm not worried about it, but I will say that where he is in his career right now, he is around beautiful women all the time. Like I feel like in the past career, there was lots of like old crew men around all the time. And now every time I go with him somewhere, I'm like, oh God, like there's just beautiful
Starting point is 00:15:08 like people. Anyway, I'm fine. Okay. Jack? I said no. Okay. Who is the most famous person that's ever flirted with you? I really don't know if I've been flirted with.
Starting point is 00:15:22 I mean, I hate to do this because... Are you going to sip? No, I guess I can say. I don't know if it was flirting, but maybe. How do you not know if something... Listen, I don't think it was flirting, but I don't want to do this to this person because it's just kind of shitty. Just do it.
Starting point is 00:15:38 Michael B. Jordan. Oh, shit. He was really nice to me. Wow. Even if it's not flirting, I would just say it was. I feel bad because right now on that show, Selling New York on Netflix, there's an entire episode about him because he's buying a 20 million dollar apartment blah blah blah but he's not participating in the show so they have this like they're having to say my client my client but one
Starting point is 00:16:01 of the girls in the testimony was like it's Michael Jordan so there's an entire episode of reality tv and one of the girls was in a situation ship with him and it's about this poor guy and now I'm just I'm piling on but it was very respectful it wasn't aggressive I really appreciated it um Mine was somebody I went on a date with. It was Tom from Pierce the Veil. No. Do you guys know who Eli Roth is, the actor? Yes.
Starting point is 00:16:28 Oh, so did I ever tell you this story? No. So I was sitting next to him at M Cafe on Melrose. This was obviously like probably 15 years ago. Oh my gosh, is it still there? I don't know. It's a ramen place now. No, ramen was there.
Starting point is 00:16:44 Oh, maybe it is. Nobody's going to know what this is. I was sitting next to him at a cafe. And I overheard him talking about something. This is when Twitter was like the height of Twitter. So after we left, I tweeted him, messaged him on Twitter. And I was like, and I mentioned something about his conversation. And I was like, oh, I was sitting next to you at the cafe.
Starting point is 00:17:02 Then we started like a little like Twitter back and forth, turned into texting, turned into me like going on a date with him. But then my best friend at the time, like also came, we went to the movies to dinner and a movie. You have such a problem with this. you're always going on a three date and then we went over back over to his house and him and I made out and then we went to my friend's bar and like I was like showing him off to all my friends I was like Eli Roth everybody Eli Roth this is the longest date I have ever heard of it was like
Starting point is 00:17:32 10 hours long it was crazy after that that was it and then yeah that was it and he was so freaking nice so fun so funny so down to earth was that I don't know I don't remember I think we had like gone back and forth like a couple times but like i i loved him because inglorious bastards is like top three movies for me so he's like a high celebrity for me but then also i was like probably stupid and still chasing after van boys but wow okay i can't top that but i do feel very strongly and i've talked about this before that tom cruise was giving me eyes in rome yeah i am believing it i don't know if it was just he does that for everyone for good press But I feel like we had a moment and I've never forgotten it.
Starting point is 00:18:15 He has not requested me again since, but okay, we're going to move on. What's the most embarrassing thing you've ever posted online? Everything in my life. Everything. When I posted the lyrics of White Horse by Taylor Swift after Ryan Ross and I broke up on MySpace. Mine is probably my old Coachella outfits, like from back in the day. When you wore just like a thong?
Starting point is 00:18:37 Yeah, those were pretty bad. At the time they weren't. At the time, they were great. I mean, everything, looking back is like retrospectively cringy. Every single Facebook like message. What was that? Update. Update. Somehow I resurrected my account for something. Oh, it was for Facebook marketplace. And I was thinking, I'm going to go back and see what I was up to because- I never do that.
Starting point is 00:19:03 It's brutal. Oh my God. Did I tell you when I got Glee, I had to go back and delete a tweet where I talk shit about Glee? Oh my God. Amazing. No. Yes, I did. Oh my God. Okay. We're going to have a V VIP experience at lady world where we're having 21 seeds cocktails for everyone. Our first 300, like we're calling them the founders of lady world. What is the wildest thing you've ever done to get a VIP like experience? I mean, I used to just sneak backstage at shows all the time when I was 16 years old, like talk about shameless and just like really thinking I belonged back there. Like I did not care about getting kicked out. I didn't care who saw me there. I didn't care who thought literally there's a 16 year old back there, but like I just kept sneaking back until
Starting point is 00:19:49 I was like meant to be there. For me, it's like when I had no business being at a celebrity gifting suite, I'd be like, it's me. And I'm on the insider, but I was like on the insider.com like every Wednesday, like one time. And I would like go to the celebrity, like the Emmys gifting suites. I'm like, girl, you did not need to be there. But like, also there's lots of losers there. So it wasn't like there was ever really good famous people. Maybe there were on day two, but I used to go to all the gifting suites to get all the free stuff. And I'd walk up there. Like I was Emmy nominated. I'm like, I would no business being there. I never, I've never done that. Shocker. Such a Becca. I go if I'm invited and it's VIP and I don't go if I am not invited
Starting point is 00:20:28 that's not VIP yeah I mean same I don't like going to parties I'm not invited to 100% that's such a Becca Tobin thing all right well on that note tequila and triumphs we will see you at Lady World 21 seeds we're so excited to cocktail with you all weekend long and cheers to the truth social support from Kali Carrera editing from Jared Monaco producing from Steve Delameter and iconic hosting creating and being the gang gang of all gangs by Becca Tobin Jack Vanek and Kelty Knight.
