Well, what is this?
Welcome to the Lady Gang.
That's amazing.
Say that again.
The Lady Gang.
Things are about to change around here.
Each week, we catch up with Hollywood's hottest girl posse,
Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vanek.
Hello, hello, hello.
Welcome to Lady Gang.
I am Becca Tobin here with Jack Vanek and Kelty Knight,
and we look like the United Colors of Benetton.
Not because we're anything but white people,
but we are wearing the colors of the rainbow.
But like all in the same tone. Like I'm wearing like a muted butter yellow and you're wearing a muted butter blue and then Jax in red and.
We're giving. We're giving something. And it's primary colors.
It's gorgeous.
Every time I get dressed for the podcast, I'm like, well, Jax or Becca is going to wear like a denim shirt or something.
So I don't want to wear that. And like I go to my closet, I'm like, what are none of these girls going to own?
And I was like, I can attest to you that none of them own a butter yellow crop sweater.
I own nothing butter yellow.
A butter yellow is in my color palette.
Really?
Yes.
Jack, have you done yours yet?
No, but I don't want it telling me what to do.
But it's fun, you know, because I don't follow it.
It's just nice.
Just good to know.
Do you know when it helps is when you're shopping online.
and sometimes there's just like a sea of stuff and and actually sometimes in your color palette
even though 75 of its barf colors i don't want to wear yeah but then i find out that i look great
in butter yellow and then i'm excited to go looking for a butter yellow something so and i'm
sure we're different color seasons or whatever and you can't get worse than what mine are so
be be free to be you i feel like i would look like an absolute just pasty disgusting piece of
shit in buttery yellow. Well, Kelty's nice and tanned. Am I tanned still? Oh my God, it's lasting
so long. You're never not tanned. No, you're not. I don't think I've seen you, your natural skin
tone in some time. And that used to be Jack. So you guys have really switched places on that.
You know, the older I've gotten, the less that spray tans are sticking to me. There's something
that's happening that my body is not letting them stick. You must be using something. I mean,
They never stuck well to you.
Let's like really take this down.
We always had like an elbow and a knee not conforming into the spray tan.
Like I say, it's what, it's a, is it a man-ay?
A mo-nay.
A mo-nay.
A man-ay.
A man-ay.
Well, whatever.
A mo-nay where it looks good from far away.
Wait, that's a new word.
It's when a guy looks good from far away.
And then you get to know him and you're like, oh God, he was a man-ay.
That's a great one.
That's good.
That's really good.
I'm trying to think of it.
Do I know any mayonnaise?
Like when you meet them at first and you started dating and they're like on their best behavior.
No, anybody tall.
Anyone super tall.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You're like, that's the hottest guy I've ever seen.
And then you get closer and you're like, no, but he still is tall.
So I'm still going to go for it.
It's true.
God, that's so good.
I guess that's how guys feel like with height.
How guys feel when they see someone walking towards them with like big ass boobies and
blonde hair.
Big tits.
Okay.
Well, it's time for.
Good week.
Yes, it is.
Bad week. Oh no. I'll kick us off because I'm pissed off at myself. It's officially
perimenopause brain that I'm working with. I have never been someone who misplaces things,
leaves things behind. I am so responsible. I have not lost an AirPod in my life. Not a single one.
Okay. The last trip I took, I lost two pairs of sunglasses. I left my Kindle on an airplane
and I left behind a phone charger what that's that's so much money just gone to the wind by
it's all because I just something's wrong with me wait do you you don't have your phone number
in your kindle if found please call you can do that you can have a little sticker like I printed
it myself shit I don't think most people probably won't call well I left it in Croatia so I don't
no when were you in Croatia on my European travels oh yeah and so I like went to go pack
for Cabo and I was like wait a second I don't have two pair of my favorite sunglasses I don't have
my kindle to read I'm like I'm I'm a shell of a person expensive and it's not it's a minute until
we're gonna get another like deal on that oh I know it's okay I love the kindle um okay well
my good week is I, you know, I carry a lot of guilt with me when I lay in my bed and I scroll
on Instagram because I was doing so well for so long and I'm doing so poorly right now. And so
I was up until about midnight scrolling on Instagram and I, I made a decision and this is,
I suggest it for everybody. Becca, if you're going to scroll on Instagram until midnight,
your punishment is you must cook one of these recipes, one of the 75 recipes that you've saved.
You actually have to put any kind of effort into your life and making it better from scrolling.
So that's what I'm doing. When you scroll, you get recipes. It's not in my algorithm.
Yeah. Well, you could do anything. You could make it like workouts. I get secret gowns.
Sometimes I like will save workouts, like a booty workout. And I think, oh, I'm going to go back and
I'm going to do that. And I never do. So whatever your thing is, as long as it's productive for you,
even if it's like recreating an outfit that you've saved, that you're like, if you're one of those
people, you're like, I'm going to recreate this. You never do just apply the scrolling to
productivity. And I feel like we're going to feel better about ourselves. Yeah. So what did you make
this weird Costco rotisserie chicken recipe? What was it? I love a Costco chicken. Okay.
you can do this with anything I don't know how it got coined Costco chicken but just a rotisserie
a rotisserie chicken okay so you'd remove the chicken out of the bag Kelty's gonna hate this
their juices are still at the bottom of the bag I hate that already you pour in but you could you
could you could do it without the juices you pour in white rice that's already cooked you chop up
the rotisserie chicken you know you get it all done and whatever you throw it in the bag and
then you add in scallions, soy sauce, sesame oil, chili oil. And I think that's it. You shake it up
and then you get seaweed, you know, those little seaweed packages. Yes. I've been doing that with
tuna. Okay. So then you put the chicken combination, chicken rice combination in the seaweed
and then you top it off with Kewpie mayo and kimchi. They're like little boats. It was amazing.
I did have to get past the fact that it was all in a microplastic and a hot bag of chicken.
You have so many microplastics swimming around in your body.
That's how I justify it.
But like all the comments on all these different videos is like, oh, my gosh, search hashtag like microplastic overload.
Did you know that they were trying to do research on microplastics and they couldn't find a control group because everybody has microplastics in their brain?
So there's no getting away from it.
So you might as well enjoy your chicken.
I did.
I did make it a little better where I didn't actually do any of the shaking in the bag.
I put it in a big mixing bowl because I was like, let's just eliminate a little bit of the plastic, you know?
Yeah, get a little metal.
Doesn't really matter.
Tastery chicken is the only thing that I've ever really thought could get me out of being pescatarian.
Like when you walk by it in a fucking row.
It smells so good.
and you're like you're grocery shopping and you're hungry and you walk by and it's pre-made
it's ready to just pick up with your hands choose some skin i don't know it is tempting
it is tempting well it's delicious highly recommend um i'll go so my good week is i
finally launched my art print shop on my website it has been a whole thing i did a whole new photo
shoot for my website in my art studio. I talked about it the other day. All I could see is my one
nasolabial fold in the pictures, but I think they came out really good. I redid my whole website by
myself and I'm just so excited. It's something I wanted to do for a long time and I just kept
putting it off. And now if anybody wants a print of my art, they can get it on my website.
It's so exciting.
When can I get an original? Do you want one of my originals? You want me to paint you something
specific. No, I want the ones that I'm getting at the print shop. You should be able to buy
the original at like a big cost. I don't know how much to charge. That's like my biggest thing.
You should charge a thousand dollars. For what size? Big. I would charge more than that for a
big painting, I think. They're huge. They're like four by three feet. Well, I think you should start
there and see how it goes. But like some of those shops that I've bought art from before that are
like mid, like you're more than a home goods and you're less than like a gallery. You know what I
mean? I'm trying to get there. Yeah. One day. Yeah. No. And then you do like an elite version,
but like, I don't know. I think people, I think people would spend. Well, that's the thing. It's
so hard. I don't, you don't know how to price your work when you've never actually like sold
anything before. Cause then you see some people that are selling their art for like $30,000 for
like a 24 inch not that I would never do ever do that but like you know you just don't ever know
that giant painting in my living room I'm just thinking of like comps the giant painting in my
living room and it's from this artist in Amsterdam who I would say is only like
just more established because she's been doing it longer but that was
six or seven thousand yeah so you could get three thousand and it's big it's huge but you could get
three thousand for that i mean that's what i was i was thinking i mean something around there for
the big ones i mean the canvas is expensive the paint you use so much paint and then it's your
time so it's like yeah it's hard i just don't know but i've been wanting to at least try to
sell like the smaller ones so we'll see tbd if anybody wants anything they can email me and we
can finagle. Yeah, that's a good idea. We can finagle on an email. So yeah, that's my good
week. I can't wait to finagle with you. Yeah. My bad week is, have you guys ever gotten a
butthole cramp before? Oh, Jesus. No. Have you? Jack. What? We have got to stop talking about
your butthole. No, this is not related to my digestive system. This is related to my period.
Have you guys ever gotten one before? Oh, like where it hurts in your butthole. It's like a
seizing seizing cramp and your butthole that happens during your period and it's like it's
not like a period cramp it's more like a charley horse like the most insane charley horse i've ever
felt in my life in my butthole and i i'll get them randomly during my period but i woke up with
the most insane one in my entire life and it ruined my entire night and i was trying to tell
my group chat nobody had even doesn't nobody knew what I was talking about they're like I've never
experienced this in my life I know exactly what you're talking about when you said a butthole
cramp I was thinking like while you're pooping like you were getting a cramp no I know like
menstrual cramping I have had those like it feels like a knife is jabbing in the butthole yes it's
like it might be one of the most top debilitating pains I've ever had like just as bad as when I was
healing from my surgery. But like, and then I have, you have to like, I try to like sit on the
toilet and act like I'm going to poop because it like, I'm trying to release the muscle as much as
I can. People, anybody that's had this happen will understand, but anybody that hasn't, I feel
so jealous. You are the chosen one. Just me. Way to period shame us, you know?
It's, I'm period shaming myself. Oh, you're so fertile.
actually probably not even fertile you're just getting your period well yeah i'm literally just
losing half of my blood every every month yeah anyways kelty all right my good week is that
dutton ranch is back beth and rip and if you know you know and if you're not watching
get this a tv show it's a tv show in paramount plus it's the spinoff of yellowstone now they've
done a zillion spinoffs they did 1923 floppy they did marshalls with the hot casey guy now
marshalls is fine i did watch two episodes but it has too many i don't believe in watching you
know i have my brain diet i don't watch automatic weapons which is why i don't watch marvel movies
which is why i don't watch crime like i don't like an automatic weapon like do you mean just a gun
no a gun like an old school shotgun on the yellowstone rant so you don't like an ar-15
you don't like war i don't like war i don't like anyone that like comes into a room and is like
yeah yeah yeah yeah okay such a specific brain diet like what do you do you google before you
watch something if it it has no i just know my palate okay you know i can tell and so with
marshalls this guy who was on that he was like the son he used to be a u.s marshal and now he's
like doing Marshall shit. And so he's back to like army shit. And I don't do army. Like I don't do
that. Um, so anyway, Beth and Rip are back, Dutton Ranch. There's only three available or four
available. I watched them all. She's just, oh, I just love their love story. And this man is like,
he is a man, eh? Because Rip is, and girls that watch, please let me know, Lady Gang. Rip is only
hot with his sunglasses on and a hat he's gotta wear well that's a hot fish it's a hat fish he's
like he's so sexy he's always a little bit dirty he's a very tan but in the second episode of
dutton ranch there was a fire and he's like after the fire coming out and they have him in a black
hoodie and i was like hot no i was like no he needs to be in his wranglers and the hat and
the sunglasses timeline is this it's now oh okay they're in montana i thought it was like back in
the day and he's wearing no no they're like anyway i love dutton ranch beth and rip forever i i love
everything they do she's insane oh my god okay here's my bad week my bad week is you guys know
i felt like fire this award season and i was so excited about the met gala and i didn't have time
to plan a full outfit. So I did go rent a dress from Albright. Now it was a $32,000 Oscar de la
renta dress that I rented. And I was like, yeah, like, I mean, I knew someone else would wear this
dress eventually because it's rented from a showroom. And like, that's what happens.
Did not expect a lady ganger in the wild to send me a DM this week and say,
oh my God, someone was wearing your dress, your Met Gala dress. And I was like, wow,
that's fast. That's crazy. And she's like, yeah, it was Vanna White on Price is Right. And I was
like, what? And so she sent me a screenshot. Vanna. So I have the fashion sense of Vanna White.
Vanna White's a icon. You know this. You're a showgirl. Yeah. You're a 70-year-old showgirl.
I just was like, oh, it's Zoe Kravitz, obviously, you know, like at her engagement party or
whatever. And no, it's just Vanna. Isn't it pronounced Zoe Kravitz? It is. Zoe. I think
she's Zoe. Who knew? We should look into this. I'm 90% sure. I mean, Kelty should definitely know
this. I mean, we've said Zoe forever, but. I think we should look into it. Is it like Zendaya?
How everybody just says it wrong? Zendaya. Okay. Well, let us know. Anyway, either way,
she wasn't wearing my dress. That is so funny. All right. When we come back, we're going to
talk more fashion farewell farewell now back to the lady gang so hot tip uh lady gang jack is
having a colonoscopy her 900 colonoscopy endoscopy it goes in the but okay jack's we don't know what's
going on her esophagus to butthole has been off the charts this year but we didn't want to miss
out on having to read on the podcast so i'm going to introduce you now and then we're going to talk
all about this new book. Ladies, lady gang, please buckle up because the original Beverly
Hills bombshell herself is back on the pod. The last time we sat across this woman, it was 2018,
a little baby show on E, back when our biggest problem was figuring out what to wear when she
was coming to my house. And her biggest problem was like a swan shaped pool float and a little
bit of side eye from Lisa Vanderpump a lifetime ago. Wow. Have things ever changed? She has
She's survived so much in the past three years, and she's opening up all about it in her new book, A Home Invasion That Would Have Broken Most of Us.
She has walked away from a long marriage with her dignity and her vodka soda, three lemons carcass out intact.
Short glass.
And apparently being iconic in Brahma wasn't enough because now she's written her memoir.
Unburdened is out now.
It's out today, lady gang.
It is juicy.
We gasp.
There's a lot of tea, but there's a lot of soul.
and we are so excited.
Please welcome the one, the only,
the woman who made a cigarette in a car a Bravo Award,
Dorit Kemsley.
Welcome.
Oh my God.
I don't think I'll ever, ever have an introduction
that can come anywhere near what you just did, Kelty.
Well, I'm annoyed at you because I think there's like,
I even have so many questions about like,
that one thing you didn't answer in the book was like,
where did the wedding dresses go?
Should I know that?
Because the wedding dresses were great.
Thank you, my love. Thank you. You know, the first wedding dress, it was Oscar de la Renta. And I mean, it was everything that I had envisioned, right? It was actually his very last bridal line before he passed.
so I and I tried my hardest to get my hands on the sketch for that dress because it just felt
I mean listen it was so sad when he passed but then to know that I wore a dress from you know
his very last bridal collection it was really a little eerie but also something very special
about it um but you know I don't even know if I know where that is oh wow that's terrible that's
terrible. Your mom's house? Oh my God. I know. I don't know. Okay. So for those of you who do not
religiously watch Beverly Hills, I'm going to give like a quick take of what has happened to
Dorit around writing this book. So she announced the book and then, uh, what's her Francis came on
and was basically like, Oh, you didn't just sit down and write it yourself because Dorit obviously
has a very busy life. And she, like every other author on the planet who writes an actual great
book, um, has a team and she got like a lot of hate for that. You've had a very hard season on
housewives, um, but kind of like badass in a way that you're very raw. And it ended the season
with you doing a book cover reveal, which people had a lot of opinion on. I just want to say from
Lady Gang, Keltishka style, that if I was on one of the most popular television shows of all time,
and it was only filming at a time
when it wasn't my pub date yet,
I would have a book cover reveal.
You're not a dumbass.
Duh.
We know exactly why you did that party.
We have had way less exciting reasons
to celebrate on these shows.
They have made parties out of nothing.
And this was a big something.
So it seemed very crazy and hateful and not supportive
that they weren't into the idea of the book cover reveal.
It's it bummed me out. I know. Yeah, me too. Me too. You know, the I actually think the first
time I heard of the concept was on Sex in the City. Carrie Bradshaw did it. And I remember when
I was talking about it with my publishers, you know, we were talking about I announced to the
girls, you know, because I had literally just signed the deal and I was so excited and I needed
some excitement in my life. You know, I needed something to look forward to. Plus, it's a big
deal, you know, to, it's a big undertaking. And I was looking forward to getting through it. Listen,
everyone, with the exception of Amanda, was really sweet, you know, cheering me on and very excited.
Now, obviously, when I say that, that's going to be a moment that goes. I'm in the process of
writing the book. When I finish the book, we will be off the air, you know, and they'll be watching.
So I'm giving the fans, the audience, a chance to be part of the process and to have a chance for the ladies to show up and support me in something that I haven't done in many years.
PTSD and then separation.
So this was a really big deal.
and having a reason to celebrate, having a party surrounding the book, you know, it was not only
marketing and a very good business idea, but it was something that my soul really needed.
So, I mean, I was all for it. You saw how that turned out though.
Yeah. You needed a win. You needed the win to celebrate the win. It's like Heather Dubrow
actually came on the podcast years and years and years ago. And I remember she gave us the best
advice was that you should celebrate everything big or little because life is short and the winds
are you know not always coming so even if it's like so I do it now I'll pop champagne for anything
just because I remember her saying that so I love that you did it and don't you feel like you're
living life yes more full doing that respecting that I said I've said this since I was so young
and it's really amazing because you know when you're writing a memoir you're really going down
memory lane. Right. So I've had a lot of, a lot of reflection in this process. And I was thinking,
my God, I was so profound when I was like a very young girl, like 13. I used to say to my
girlfriends, live your life every year, live it to the fullest. If you do that, you'll never age.
You'll never feel like, oh my gosh, I'm because why do we necessarily, you know, mourn? Okay.
Maybe skin's not great as you get older, right?
It's not like a 20-year-old skin.
But what you do have, experiences, memories, and if you feel like you have lived your life
and you continue to do so, you're going to appreciate getting older.
You're going to appreciate those years because you have so much that you have celebrated,
so much that you've enjoyed, so many wonderful memories.
I can't say the last four years that I have followed the advice that I have said for many,
many years, but I definitely intend to now. So the thing about the book that I thought was very
brave of you is that you are not hiding away from anything. There are so many celebrity memoirs
where they give you the real story behind maybe one of the 10, you know, buzzworthy things in
their life and the rest is still a question mark i think for you you literally bulletproof you went
down and you're like okay home invasion divorce uh the thing that really made my jaw drop is how
honest you were about the money because this has been such you have been torn apart about this
outsourcing your i did not realize even as a friend and a fan that pk had no money when you
met this was a revelation to take this away because everyone's like oh she was just hot
she married this guy with money and she never thought about it she just spent the money
no that is not what happened no no no pk had claimed bankruptcy um it was you know i met pk
at a time in his life where he was on the bottom and he had been on the top i had i didn't know him
when he was on the top. I've heard all the stories now. And, you know, I feel like I, I, um, I'm not
even sure that I would have, I don't know if I would have liked that man, let alone married him,
you know, but, um, but when I met him, he was trying to, trying to rebuild his life. Um,
you know, he was in an acrimonious divorce and he, he had just claimed bankruptcy or he was just
about to claim bankruptcy. You know, he had built a very big business. It was almost a billion
dollar business. And then in 2008, when the world tilted on an access, he lost the business and
he was in debt, 153 million pounds, which at the time it was two to one. So it was like $300
million. And I always looked at him with so much awe. I mean, I was so, because I thought being in
that situation, how many men really can pick themselves up, dust it off and have the will
or the desire to just keep going and try to do it again. And he did. And, you know, bankruptcy for
him, um, was always such a big, it was a sore spot. It still is. Um, I think that in the United
States, you know, we don't, we don't give it a negative spin. You know, we love a comeback.
You know, Americans love a comeback. Americans love a story where someone gets knocked down and
then they get back up and we're cheering them on. And I don't think it's that way in other parts of
the world, especially where he comes from. So he had a very different take on it. And I was his
cheerleader. You know, I mean, this is, it doesn't matter about the news, you know, there's an
expression. Today's news is tomorrow's fish and chip paper. So I used to say, you know, we can do
it together. We'll do it together. You know, just do this, do this, let's clear everything up and
let's start from scratch. And that's what we did. Now, he, you know, I want to say this because I
know also um he he already had um started his you know he bought the cosmos he just sold the cosmos
so he wasn't like homeless broke right you know where he didn't have shelter and he didn't have
we're not talking about that but he was not a wealthy man by any means you know he was really
starting um to try and come back from a very very nasty fall after reading this i i felt like the
question I really wanted to know was, and you probably don't have an answer to read, but,
you know, because everyone that I've talked to is like, man, the thing about this couple is like,
they really love each, they loved each other. Like they were that couple, you know? And so it's like,
if you could, and he was the one that was kind of like, Hey, we should, you know, you should do
the show. If you could go back and there was a possibility that you could possibly say, okay,
I'm going to say no and stay married and stay happily married to this man that I love forever.
Or I'm going to say, yes, be famous.
Get to experience the things that you have experienced, the strength you've shown, what
you've been able to do for the charities you work with.
Like, could you choose?
The sliding doors moment.
You know, it's the sliding doors where it's like, oh man, like, because a lot of people
will say this show is the downfall of your marriage.
So I, yeah.
Every single person that goes on. Yeah. Yeah. Well, and that's what I heard, you know,
and I remember thinking, I don't necessarily subscribe to that. I don't. Um, I also don't
think I can say with certainty that if I didn't do the show, that PK and I would stay married
forever. Um, there's so many unknowns. I don't think it was the show per se that was, uh, the
driving force for us for our divorce. I really don't. Um, I do think the home invasion was a
very pivotal moment. Um, and I think that more than anything, that's where it became apparent,
you know, listen, I had always been, and I really want to try to avoid speaking for PK
because I don't think that that's fair. You know, he should have his own voice.
but I was speaking to someone it was actually Kelly Ripa and her producer on her podcast had
said you know I have a theory she said you know you after the home invasion you were broken and
you needed PK and PK just didn't want to be there he wanted to be out and about and he wanted to
you know be living life like he and he always had you by his side and now you're not capable
and it was you know unfortunately I think it it really shunned a light on where we were you know
in different parts of our lives and then even listen I didn't want to have PTSD and I definitely
didn't want to have it for two and a half years I was struggling and the majority of people and I
mean the majority had no idea obviously my nearest and dearest did anybody in my close circle the
ladies on the show. You know, anyone that was privy to my life obviously did. And I talked
about it on the show, but you know, the show did not, they definitely did not represent
how really, how much I was struggling. And I don't think it's their fault. I think it was
me that I was sharing it and being honest, but the depths of it, you know, I felt like a shell
of myself. And I was so desperate, desperate to feel myself again. And for a long time, I didn't
know that I would actually be able to come back to myself. So when I did, and you learn a lot
about this in the book, what was the catalyst to that? I felt like there is nothing in the world
that I am, I will make sure I stay in this place, which is why when you saw, when I came into season
14 and I was just like, I've had it. And everyone was saying, Dorit, you finally found your voice
and so on. What you saw was a woman that had come from the depths of despair, truly, and rose,
you know, had risen and didn't even know it was going to be possible. And when I had that,
when I was that empowered and the confidence back, it was like, oh, there was nothing that I was
going to let me get down. I was like, no. And I truly needed to feel unburdened. I had been
burdened for years and I just needed to be unburdened. And I, you saw, you saw what that
means. I feel like that you talking about sort of your trauma and it being almost an inconvenience
for PK to kind of tend to, that is such a universal thing with partners and spouses. Like it is,
I see it all the time in all the lanes, like fertility, a woman goes through all this loss and
the partner just can't understand why she can't just snap out of it, can't just start living life
again. And it's like, it is really hard to travel through that type of trauma as a couple. And it
also, it does break you. And some people can't recover from not having that support when they
needed it the most. I really never considered that like being the catalyst potentially or one
of them. I was pissed. Like I, I was sure I was pissed at PK because I was sure that what I was
seeing on the show was like the edited version of like, oh, he had a couple of days where he was
just not that sweet with you. And you're literally like that scene where I think he's wearing a gray
sweater. I don't know why I remember this, but there's like this scene and you're like, I just
need you. And he's like, ah, and he was like, so cold. And I was like, what an asshole in this
moment. But I was like, Oh, well, obviously, this is not how he's acting. When the cameras are off,
like they caught him at a bad moment. He's tired. He doesn't want to be on camera today. And like,
you know, they're going to use that because this is a television show about drama.
But when I read the book, I'm seeing that, wow, like he really, he could not compute it. He could,
he could not support you the way that you need the love of your life and your person to show up for
you and whether it takes a month two months two years like he just he he he couldn't do it and it
what we saw on the show was an accurate sort of representation of the level in which he could do
it yes and it mattered to you like I think sometimes in those moments like maybe you go
to therapy maybe you have a best friend maybe but whatever but like when you just want your
person you know what I mean yeah well PK was always that person too Kelty he was you know I
I was his strength he was mine but what he always was was my safety net so I managed everything and
you know we we would joke him and I because I was I'm very hypersensitive to detail he's not
a detailed person at all. And everything in our lives, I managed. And when I got to a point where
something was too much, or I would always bring him in for the really difficult things. And there
was this comfort that I always felt. So you're used to that. And you're like, where are you?
Yes. This is, you know, when push came to shove, I mean, just always knowing that I had that
strength. And really, he was able to do it for me so effortlessly. But what I realized
with PTSD is he was able to come in and fix something or help. It was never the type of
support that required him to, you know, it was over a sustained period of time. I don't know
if, I mean, I believe I probably would have been able to navigate what I was going through,
the PTSD, a lot better, feel a lot less alone, feel a lot less burdened. And if I had had
my husband, if I had had his strength, if I had had his comfort, and I just, I needed it so badly.
when you need something that you're familiar with so badly so desperately and you can't get it
it almost makes it worse yeah does that make sense yes you know for sure like if if I if I
knew it was just me and I had to but like I had him you're my husband like I've been there by your
side through everything you know through thick and thin through all of these things and when I met
him. You know, I met a man, like I said earlier on, he was not at the top of his life. I mean,
he came with a lot of baggage, a lot of baggage, a lot. And so many people, you know, my family
included, I had never been married before. You know, I was just, it was like, are you sure that
you want to get involved. Yeah, exactly. You know, he's going, you know, not a very nice
relationship with his ex-wife, three children, you know, lost a big business, all of these things.
But I fell in love with this man, truly, where I felt like him and I have spent lifetimes together.
you're listening to the lady gang the jaw-dropping moment of this book is the backyard aa sponsor and
nobody's talking about it yet so i'm talking about it this okay so you're 14 years two children
and the end of your marriage comes through someone else's mouth take me back to that moment
what the hell yeah my words exactly in my head um pk um he had gotten sober he was four months sober
he was really committed felt um like this was something that you know was overdue
and he had a sponsor because he was it was a journey you know of sobriety and he had a sober
coach, if you will. And, you know, you go through steps process. I mean, you know, there's all kinds
of things, you know, that anyone that's been through sobriety knows, and he was working on
those things with, with him. Anyway, we, we were in my backyard in our cabana and the three of us,
you know, sat down to talk. And his sober coach says, listen, I think you guys should
maybe take some time apart and separate. And I remember immediately looking at PK,
you know, expecting him to be like, you know, hey, you know, something. And he was just
absolutely dead silent, like sort of looking off to the side. And I was looking at him,
waiting to like either catch eyes with him or to get some like, and I just started to realize,
oh my God, this is literally him, but not wanting to do it where him and I are sitting down together
and him saying to me, no, that's fine.
And him saying, listen to read.
I feel he put it off on someone else
to deliver the information to me.
And he was dead silent the whole time.
Just looked off into the gates
and let the sober coach essentially
let me know that we're separating.
So obviously that was hard.
I think that was almost harder
than the actual news itself.
I would be on Dateline after that happened. I would be on Dateline for killing my husband.
Wow. Oh, I'm so sorry. That is just insult to injury.
Doozy. I have a question about just this past season of Housewives, and we won't dwell on it
because I know it was a very hard time for you. You were so raw. I want to know what your theory
is it was hard to watch two people in your life that you've leaned on for so many years that you
have been become like sisters with what is your theory on why you could not get the kind of
support that you needed from them in this time because it was like I was looking at the tv I
wanted to like shake my tv um because I just didn't understand it like what do you think
what happened yeah oh my gosh I mean it's a loaded answer that's good I can tell you that
how long do we have on the podcast take your time girl here's what I would say is that like
I thought it was so sorry I know she asked you no no no I want to tell you what I think too
please I thought over the past few seasons we watched Erica and she was like you know clearly
taking the pills and drinking at the same time during all of her Tom stuff. And she was a mess.
And everyone was like, pulling her up by the bootstraps being like, you're okay. And like,
you know, you were hard on her, but you're forgiving her because she's your friend and
you're like, you're a mess. Then Kyle goes through her divorce and she's hiding stuff.
We don't know who she's dating, but she's working out like a crazy person. And she's also going
nutso bananas. And everyone's like, it's just Kyle. She's now a runner. She does marathons.
then it's your time for you to go nutso bananas and have your life in the shitter and then all
of a sudden the righteousness of everyone that's what i think was like just strange and i like
those women a lot but i was just like wait like she was cool with you when you were like zanning
and wine drinking like you know yeah i mean if you remember an aspen i was i mean i was the only one
supporting her. I, I helped her and, um, you know, put my relationship with Kyle in jeopardy,
even at that point to Kyle and I fell out over it. Um, so obviously that part, that's what,
you know, that's what hurts so much. And when you're already, you feel like you've got the
weight of the world, you're hanging on by a thread. You know, even now when you watch things
in retrospect and I was not in a good place at all. Um, obviously when you're already not in a
good place and you're showing up and they're your friends, right. And you need that support. And I
have to tell you, you know, I spent most of my life, most of my adult life going through hard
moments on my own because I believed I didn't want to like put it on other people. So I wasn't
that friend that would be like a Debbie Downer to my friend. I would go through it, you know,
in private and I would find the strength. Of course, yes, my friends would know what's going
on, but the heaviness of it, I wouldn't leave it with them. As I learned in the last couple of
years, more than anything, the power of support. Truly, when you are going through something
difficult. You do not need to do it alone. Don't do it alone, actually, I would say. I mean,
the years that I did it where I shouldn't have. And I know there were plenty of people that would
have happily been able to want to be there for me. And I had this notion that I'd be putting
this heaviness on other people. And so I didn't want to do that. It was actually Bose who was the
one who helped me realize just how important it is to have your little village and just how
important it is when you're going through a divorce or anything that you lean on your
girlfriends and you have great girlfriends. So that in and of itself, I can tell you when I
started doing that, I felt like I was lifted. I was getting through the darkest days, really
feeling a lot better because of it. So when I reached a point last season where I felt I'm
really like, this is almost two years that I'm going through this, maybe as we were filming. So
over a year and the people that I need to support me the most, that I'm actually being open and
honest. I'm doing what I'm supposed to do to get support because if I'm being quiet about it,
nobody knows. However, and then not to get it, it felt, you know, the hurt when you're on top
of a hurt, it's almost like a double negative, right? So it becomes, you become defensive
and you're angry, you're aggressive. You're, you know, it's like you, you know, I was there for
So it was really difficult. I will say with Erica, I didn't feel unsupported by Erica at all. I felt totally supported by Erica right up until the very end. And the switch was so shocking to me in Italy, like really surprising.
Because even the night before, the night before we went to the gelato town, that very desolate
town, so strange, so weird, so incredibly weird.
But the night before that, I mean, I was in Erica's bedroom at two o'clock in the morning
on her bed, lights off, and we were talking and discussing.
There was no mention of anything.
In fact, I had even said to her, because Kyle was saying that, you know, to other people that, you know, I seem erratic or overwhelmed or whatever, you know, she was saying, I said, Erica, do you think this? And she's like, no, not at all. I think, you know, yada, yada, yada.
So the next day when we were, you know, when that happened with Erica, I was so taken aback and so shocked because I thought, why wouldn't she say something to me?
There was plenty of time.
You know, we had the opportunity even last night.
And Erica's not one that she's not going to be forthright or open or honest.
You know, that's what I love about her.
Yeah.
So processing that, that it just felt like, whoa, what is this?
you know, and then you start to have these conspiracy theories because it's just not
normal behavior. It's not normal practice. And you're not, you're not in a place where
you're clear enough to rationalize something that feels irrational. Does that make sense?
Yeah. So the very unfortunate dinner experience that Eric and I had
was heartbreaking. I think for both of us, it, you know, Eric and I, we don't fight and we
definitely don't fight like that. We just, you know, nine year friendship, we have not had a
crossword with one another. And we've always been there to cheerlead each other, to cheer each other
on um support one another be there for one another um you know during the home invasion she was one
of the first people in my house before i even you know i woke up and lisa rena was in my living room
and erica was 30 seconds behind her you know um and this was they didn't even get the information
from me they learned about it from the news and they got in their car you know make you know no
makeup in like workout clothes. I mean, you know, they were camped outside my house. So there's
paparazzi pics, you know, there's pics of them. They got in the car immediately to come and check
on me. I mean, they're real friends. This is a real friendship. So it's, it's really hard, you
know, um, her not coming to the, you know, to the cover release. I think for me in a time where I
really genuinely felt like I really needed support probably more than ever in my entire life,
or at least it felt that way, I should say. And it was also the first thing that I had done
in really a long time because I hadn't taken on projects. I hadn't committed myself.
I didn't feel like I would be able to. So I stayed away from it. Now that I was doing something that
you know, I really expected no matter what was going on, I expected everyone to show up because
that's what we do. And to have three of the ladies choose not to show up. And then of all of them,
Erica really, um, I think was, don't, don't get me wrong, Kyle as well. Um, however, Kyle and I
had had, you know, a couple of years of up and down and it's almost like when she told me she
wasn't coming i was really disappointed but i wouldn't i wasn't as shocked as erica not showing
right so um well at least you had amanda francis there yeah that is true that is true god damn it
i really hated this girl all season and now i'm kind of like are you the voice of reason
on the housewives what the is happening it was listen i want to just say this lady gang you
will not be disappointed by the book. If you love a little Bravo tea that she goes deep into the
friendship stuff she was just talking about. But I think there was some great insight onto what has
been your life in the past few years. I feel like you're a little bit of a share like this is
unburdened one. And like in a few years, we'll get unburdened too, because I do think the best
is or maybe unbridled will be the next one. Oh, that's hot. Love it. Outfit. Yeah. But you know
what? Like, I, I think that, um, we've always loved you and we think you're, you're like,
oh, she's beautiful and rich and fabulous and a housewife and all this stuff. And the fact that
you're being so open about it being a shit storm for you right now is very 2026 coded. And I think
it's the perfect time for this book. Uh, the pub today is Dorit's pub date. We must get her on the
