top five orgasm myths. Number one, that all women reach orgasm through intercourse.
Not true. Only 30% of women reach orgasm through intercourse. And that is usually because they're
getting clitoral stimulation either through the position or through some sort of manual
or vibratory position at the same time as having intercourse. Number two, that vibrators can
replace men. Not true, okay? Most women, especially women over 40, need more stimulation in order to
reach orgasm, and often vibrators are a woman's best friend for that, but they can be incorporated
into sex between the two of you. They by no means replace a partner. Why? Because part of her
arousal is the connection and intimacy she feels with the person she's having sex with. That's a
huge predictor for her sexual satisfaction. So even though the vibrator is a machine and no human can
create that kind of intensity of stimulation, it is really about the whole experience with the
person she's having sex with that arouses her. And vibrators can be a wonderful way
to enhance her sexual arousal while the two of you are enjoying an intimate sexual exchange.

Third myth, if a woman can't reach orgasm, something is wrong with her.
Not true.
Not all women can reach orgasm and certainly don't reach orgasm every time.
Even the most orgasmic women do not necessarily achieve an orgasm or reach orgasm every time
they have a sexual encounter.
So for most men, they can't imagine a sexual encounter without ejaculation, right?
Without orgasm.
That's kind of like the punctuation mark in their minds.
but that is not necessarily the case for women. That's not to say it's not a worthy goal and
something you should work toward, but by no means are you somehow wrong or bad if you don't reach
orgasm every time. If you don't reach orgasm at all through any means, then we should talk.
Fourth myth, that only women fake orgasm. Not true. Men fake orgasm too. It's true that 70%
of women have faked orgasm. I hate to break that news to those of you who believe that every woman
you've ever been with has reached an orgasm because that's probably not true. But guys fake
orgasms too. They can and they do. So don't think it's just women who do it. The fifth myth is that
the goal of every sexual encounter is orgasm. As I said earlier, that's simply not true.
It's a worthy goal.
It's a great thing to strive toward.
But when I did national research on what the most sexually satisfied women had in common,
it wasn't how often they reached orgasm or what kind of orgasms or if they reached orgasm.
It was the emotional intimacy and connection they felt to the person they were having sex with.
Something to think about.
If you have questions about this or anything else on your mind about sex, love, and relationships,
