Language of Love with Dr. Laura Berman - The Most Heartwarming Messages from Beyond with Susan Grau
Episode Date: April 17, 2024This Language of Love episode is a special one! I'm sharing another talk from my Good Grief Day event, and this time I’m featuring the incredibly gifted medium and author, Susan Grau. She has an ext...raordinary ability to connect with the other side, and she reached out to our audience members, delivering messages that are sure to touch the heart. During the event, Susan brought comfort offering apologies, expressions of love, and even signs from their departed loved ones. They’re truly powerful moments, and you can feel the love reaching out from beyond. It's moments like these that remind us of the unbreakable bonds of love. As we delve into these connections, I can't help but relate to the profound sense of grief that comes with losing someone we love. I've been there, and I understand how hard it is. But I also know the solace and closure that can come from feeling that connection to our loved ones who have passed on. It's a reminder that love transcends all, even death. Be sure to check out my website for my online course, Good Grief: Healing from Loss with Love, for more guidance and support on your healing journey. Hey, I'm sex, love, and relationship therapist, Dr. Laura Berman.
And for the past 30 years, I've been helping people just like you learn to love and be
loved better.
Here on the Language of Love Conversations, I'm talking to some of the world's most
influential and revolutionary experts, thought leaders, spiritual teachers, and celebrities
about love, sex, and relationships from a mind, body, and spirit perspective.
And that way, my goal is to awaken your mind, body, and soul.
It's time to become fluent in the language of love.
So our next speaker, I'm really excited about.
Many of my mamas, she's come to a Grieving Mama meetup.
Every Grieving Mama meetup, we do it about once a month.
As I said, we kind of have our circle time, and then we do something healing together.
And I've been so lucky to have so many wonderful healing volunteers who come and join us.
Susan came and she blew everybody away. I'm very picky about my mediums because a lot of them are
full of shit. But Susan is the opposite of that. She is absolutely the real deal. And I'm sure
will blow you no pressure, Susan. I'm sure she will blow you away as she always does.
She also has her own story of grief and loss, just like all of us do. And she has a new book
that I believe is on pre-order now. Yes, Susan, it's pre-order. It's about to come out called
Infinite Lives, Infinite Lessons, which is not only about her story and all the amazing things,
but it's kind of a roadmap about how to tap in, tune in, heal, attune to the spiritual realms.
She's an expert for sure. All right. So without further ado, Susan, come on up. Susan Grau,
everybody. Hi. So I'm going to start out just by telling you how I became a medium. Just real
briefly what happened to me and a few other things. And then I'm going to start reading.
I've already gotten some messages. So I've been getting them all day, which is hard because a lot
of them have already gone through me. I don't hold them. So hopefully they'll come back.
There's still a few I'm listening to, but obviously I only have about 45 minutes,
so I'm not going to be able to read a lot of people in this room. And I apologize for that
ahead of time. So I was a four and a half year old who used to see animals float when they would die.
And that was my normal. And well, I saw that at three. That's the only thing I remember about
being three. At four and a half years old, almost five, I got locked in an unplugged freezer in a
garage and I passed away. When I came back, I'll just say quickly, when I came back from that
experience, I was able to see people. I thought they were the boogeyman. They were everywhere
under my bed, the corner of the room, down the hallway. I thought they were the boogeyman and
I was scared. Children have a very different experience than what an adult has. I work with
them. I have my doctorate in divinity and I work with children with NDEs and very many of them say
it scared them when they came back and saw things. Some don't see things. I did. Fast forward, I became
a therapist. I was not planning on being a medium. It was not something I wanted to be, but they kept
coming and they kept visiting and they kept talking to me and I didn't really have an alternative. I
don't think. I think they decided and that's the way it was going to be. It is pure love, just
saying. It's pure love. I ended up later on in life having a brain tumor and I went into surgery,
non-cancerous, went into surgery. And the fun part about that is when I woke up, it was pitch black
and I said, oh my God, am I dead? And my girlfriend said in the corner, well, I hope to effing God
you're not because that means I am. And I thought, okay, I'm still here. She let me know loud and
clear. But, you know, I've had a few other experiences that have kind of pulled me back
to that realm. It is filled with unconditional love. It is the most beautiful. There are no
human words for it. It is the most peaceful, loving, all-encompassing love. That's what it is.
it's love. And no matter how you pass, you are loved. So there isn't some criteria there.
And a lot of people believe when you commit suicide, you know, you got to pay your dues,
give up your chits, whatever that is. I have two brothers and a mother who committed suicide.
I talk to them all the time. And I can unequivocally tell you that that's a falsehood.
no matter how you leave this planet no matter what mistakes you make you are loved and I loved
listening to Anita because I think that two reasons why we're here is spiritual knowledge
and love that's why we're here the interesting part about what I'm saying right now is love is
is for us so yes we can easily give unconditional or love to others but how many of you actually
love yourselves completely. So what I learned there is that I needed to learn how to love me.
Still not quite there. I'm on my way, but I'm not quite there. I have a feeling that when I get
there, I'll already be leaving. But knowledge is what I work for at all times. Spiritually,
you are enough. You just don't know it. And when you start recognizing that we're all enough,
universally that love comes together
and it's very empowering and powerful.
Every good deed you do
doesn't go unnoticed
and every deed that isn't so good
doesn't go unnoticed
and neither one is punishable.
They don't have our brains.
They're not thinking as little as we do.
They're way beyond us.
Expansively beyond us.
So when we think
they're going to be mad at me
because we get mad,
They don't have our thinking. They love. They created you. They love you. They love your
children, your husbands, your wives, your daughters, your sons. They love you. And that's
what they're there to do. Your soul never gets damaged. How can it? They created it.
Your heart, it's broken. So healing our hearts is a huge, huge effect on how we do life.
that sometimes takes our whole lifetime. Learning to love yourself, that's what I want to say today.
I'm not talking about the outside of appearance. Yeah, we like to love that. That's wonderful.
I'm talking about our choices and the way that we treat others and how we look at the world.
Learning to love ourselves is the hardest thing you will do. How many of you fully love who you
are. Five people. Look at the size of this room. That tells you something. Okay. So I have,
please remember, first, middle, last. If I give you a name, sometimes they do, sometimes they
don't. I'm sure they get in front of me and they say everything. I just can't hear it all.
Please don't say no to yourself. Give yourself a moment. Sometimes I'll hear something and it
won't make total sense. And then I'll say a little more and it will. So give it time. Sometimes
they'll give me ways that they're going to communicate with you. Maybe they haven't done
that yet, but you'll leave here understanding that they're going to. And before you know it,
it's in front of your face. Okay. I've had three people talking to me so far.
So I do just want to say that I have a young man, Mr. California is what he calls himself to me.
So what that tells me is he's either got a name that sounds like California in some way
and or he just loves California. He's very, very athletic. He likes football. He likes
baseball. He likes outdoors. He likes wrestling. He loves to eat, loves to eat. And he is tall
and I think has darker hair, kind of what I'm feeling from him. He has a mother in this room.
Does this resonate for anyone? If it does, please raise your hand. One, one. Let me tell
you a little more about him. If you can give me some more, give me some more. Very loving,
very kind tragic ending he's around 17 or 18 does anybody understand cal or california is having
significance from california does that that's name resonate you guys don't be shy please raise your
hand raise your hand even if it may apply for you because she'll slowly narrow it down what's your
You have a son who's, what's his name? Okay. Okay. I'm going to keep going. He's 17 or 18
and he had a tragic event. What does that fit for? All three, all four, everything. Okay.
Everything I'm saying has to fit. Okay. It's you. His name's Ty. What about back there? I just want
to ask, was that an older person? Okay. I think I'm with you. I think I'm with Ty. He had a tragic
event when he left? Was he struggling? Okay. Because this boy's telling me that he struggled.
He was struggling a little bit with some depression. I feel like he was not knowing
what he wanted to do. He felt like things were off for him. He wasn't fitting. He was trying
to find his place in life. He may have started self-medicating by either food or something else.
There was some self-medicating going on and he felt like he wasn't finding his niche and he was
scared. You understand this about your son? Okay, sweetie, can you go over to mine? He's very good
at hiding what he was experiencing. You understand that information? Oh, definitely. Okay. And he's
telling me that he wishes he would have talked to you even more and he would have expressed what he
was going through internally. He left her extremely tragically. He had a part in his
leaving. You understand that information? That doesn't mean suicide. I didn't say suicide. He
had a part in his leaving. So he made some choices that weren't very good choices. You
understand that? Yeah. Might've been in the wrong place, but he knew he was going to that place. I
mean, there's different things that can happen that make them feel that way. Does that make
sense to you? Yes. Okay. If it doesn't make sense, please be sure and say it doesn't make sense
because I don't have to be right. This isn't about my ego. I can only get what I'm hearing
in the background. Very loving, very giving, very gracious, had a lot of empathic energy in him.
He loved music. Music was extremely important to him. Yes, I can hear the boom, boom, boom,
boom. He liked that kind of music. Yes. Like, let me do it. Boom, boom, boom. I can feel that.
Ty wants you to know that he's okay and he's sitting next to you right now.
Over in that chair, he's been here all day trying to talk to you. He wants you to know he's always
around. I love his energy because he's got up energy because he doesn't show what's going on
in here. I feel like he was liked by people, but he didn't think he was. It's funny because
he would joke and like a 17 year old boy would, you know, like, oh, I'm the greatest thing there
is. But I don't think he, he believed that. And his friends, all the people that came to
his funeral and spoke and talked about him and how they were the new kid at school and he befriended
them. And just, he was a leader and so many kids just loved him and gravitated towards him.
So, but he didn't know, he didn't know it. No, I can feel that he was humble. Yes. You know,
and he liked the underdog. He liked to help the underdog. And so he'd fight for the underdog,
which is really beautiful. I love his energy. He feels very attached to your soul. So this is a
soul attachment you have with him from the moment he was born. He was your boy. And not everyone
feels that way about their children, but for whatever reason, he feels like there's a natural
attachment to your soul. He wants you to know how much he loves you, mom. He says, you know,
he told you he could tell you, he could say those words, which is wonderful, but he wants to say
him right now. He's showing me coins. So there's something about coins in his journey. I don't know
if you saved them, collected them. What's that about? He collected military coins, Navy coins.
Okay. And he wants you to know that you still have those. And he wants you to know he wants
you to always keep them. They're really important to him. Okay. So I know you can't take them with
you. So when you're passing over to the other side, you've got a long life. You've got a good
long life here. So all is well. He does worry about you taking care of yourself. He's telling
me that you're struggling with that right now. Please make sure you're doing that because the
more you take care of yourself, the higher you raise your vibration. The more you raise your
vibration, the closer he can get to you. Okay. He is telling me he sends you a little black bird
to understand a little black bird or the song black bird. No, you will later. Okay. Just trust
it. I will. I do. I do. Most of the time when I give a message, if they say no, I'm like,
oh, they're going to get it. They're going to get it. Okay. Somebody did something very
beautiful in honor of him. I feel like it's a tattoo, but I'm not positive. Do you understand
that? Yep. I've got his ashes are mixed in with it. And yeah. And then a friend of his also
came to the funeral and showed me his that he had just gotten. I think it's yours. Okay. Okay.
You have his ashes in your arms?
Yes, it's yours because it was very special.
He wants to thank you and he says he knows about it.
Okay.
Do you have any questions?
No.
Thank you.
Love is being sent to you and I leave you with his love.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
I have a little girl.
Tragic accident.
Her mama's here.
She's between 10 and 12.
I see a bike.
I see a car. I see a head injury. She had a head injury. Does this fit for anyone? Yes? Okay.
How old was she? Okay. Everything I said makes sense to you? I see her going down a hill and
she's going very fast and not being able to stop. You understand that information?
I also see that she did not die on the scene. You understand that information?
She says she heard everything you said to her.
And even though she was in a hospital and she wasn't coming back to talk to you, she
heard every loving word you ever said to her.
All the I love yous, all the kisses from the family, all the adoration.
I see someone rubbing her toes, making sure her feet are warm.
For some reason, her feet had significance.
I see kisses.
I see a lot of love.
Who is Molly?
who is Molly? That's her name. Okay. Thank you. I want you to know that Molly is always with you
always. And she says, thank you for loving me. Thank you for being there for me.
We've got a bracelet in her honor. Thank you so much. Can you come up to the mic? Mama?
Are you dad? Come on up. She knows you have the bracelet. Okay. She wants you to know. She knows
it you also light a candle for her yes yes yes we do all right she sees the candle she is a lover
of life this is a little cutie pie yes i just see her so i don't know what kind of bike this was but
it's like wizard of oz keeps coming to me for some reason i don't know what that means do you
understand that okay what does that mean for her she loved theater and singing and she would sing
somewhere over the rainbow. Okay. That's why I'm hearing Wizard of Oz. I know the most difficult
thing for a mom and dad is not being there and feeling like you should be there. She doesn't
need you to be there because she's here. She hasn't left you. She loves to come in your room.
She loves to come as an orb, but she also materializes the best she can. She loves to
make noise. She loves music. Everything she can bring to you, she does. She likes to flick things
on and off and she loves the butterflies and hummingbirds. And that's what she's bringing
to you whenever she can. She's telling me to tell you that you're the best dad a dad could have.
She calls you daddy. That's what she's calling you right now. And she's telling me to tell you
that. She always felt safe and protected and there was nothing you could do. This isn't your fault.
I know you say, yes, you understand. But when she's telling me that, I also understand that
you don't understand or she wouldn't be saying it. It's easy to blame ourselves.
She doesn't even blame herself. She said she was just having a great old time having fun
and it went haywire. It went haywire. I think that she was going pretty fast
and i think that she couldn't stop or she got in front of a car or something or something flipped
her but she said she didn't feel a thing she left her body long before she felt anything and anita
talked about that and i want you to know that she's safe she's in beautiful hands and she has
a male on the other side with her that loves her very much and i have a feeling he's attached to
dad. I'm not sure, but it's attached to someone in one of you, one of the two of you, and they're
taking very good care of her. I also see a grandmother on the other side. You understand
this information? And grandma is also there with her, giving her lots and lots of love.
Keep in mind that because we weren't loving here doesn't mean we're not loving on the other side.
I want to be very clear about that. So everything is healed, okay? And so if you had someone who
is kind of iffy or controlling here, you're not going to be that way there. You're going to be
filled with love and protect and take care of and nurture anyone who comes to the other side that
belongs to them. She says, keep wearing the bracelet. Who's smelling her shirt? And who
set up a memorial for her? We have so many. In your house, do you have a little memorial for
her? Who has a little memorial for her in a garden or something? So many. It's difficult to say which.
there's a lot that's been done. Is there one in your house? Because I would think that's what,
I hate asking questions everywhere. Okay. She's aware of all those memorials. Can I just say that?
She's aware. She brought up memorials and it wasn't a celebration of life memorial. She's
talking about something more, something added to that. She wanted to be an actress. That was her
dream. And she says, so she's doing it there. And she wants you to know that. Do you
understand that the song you are my sunshine my only sunshine that has great significance doesn't
it yes because she's singing it to you now but she says it's my turn she loves you very much
i'm going to leave you with your love thank you
keep in mind she did not suffer please remember she wasn't calling for you she wasn't suffering
and she's not now that's honest truth i was a little girl on the other side so i know that
to be true i was kind of curious i was like mommy i was trying to get her attention but i wasn't
scared and I wasn't suffering. Do you know who she is with? Do you know who that female and male
are that I see her with? My grandmother has passed. So she raised me. It could be her. Also
John's grandmother is also named Molly. She's passed as well. Okay. Okay. I think she's with
your grandma, but she's with them both. But just so you know, families love to stay together on
the other side nobody's left behind i'm so sorry for your loss it's tremendous and my heart is
feeling it and please know that she's safe and she'll be there for you just as you know her
you will feel her when your time comes thank you and it's not now dad i think you need to hear that
take care it's so interesting to me when i read because i have to get this information but what
i really want to do is stand up with you and cry that's what i really want to do i really want to
come over and wrap my arms around you like a mom feels and cry and that stops the flow and i don't
cry for them because they're so happy and they're in such a beautiful place i cry for you she likes
hummingbirds. She likes to send them to you. She's going to wrap them around you.
So they're going to buzz by your head and they're going to pay attention. Any little thing that
flies, it'll be her. Trust me, as long as it's not a bee. I don't see her sending bees, okay?
But what she's telling me is that she loves to send you little things. I'm not seeing monarchs,
which is interesting. I'm actually seeing white and yellow. You understand, don't you? Yeah.
so that's for you I know what I do is really weird I get it it's overwhelmingly strange to me
and I'll tell you this when you say yes that makes sense I'm going oh my god that makes sense
that's what I'm doing inside because it's so out of the box does somebody have a son named Kevin
living? Okay. Do you have someone on the other side that might talk about him?
There's an older male saying the name Kevin to me and a younger email. Does that connect to you?
Other way around? I don't think I got it backwards. So I feel like there's someone
who's talking about a Kevin. So I'm just leave that. Might be a flyby, which I actually get a
lot when there's all these people in a room. That's my out. But sometimes I hear it wrong.
I could be Caitlin. It could be something like that. And I'm just hearing it wrong.
Let's see what else. I have a father. His name is Mike. Mike.
My chest is hurting. So he either had something with his lungs or he had a heart
attack or heart condition. Does that fit for anyone? Yes. Okay. He has grandchildren that
he's extremely close to. He knew them, loves them. He left really rapidly. You understand that?
Okay. He's showing me that he left rapidly. So that means one of two things. When he decided
it was time, he was gone. Like there was no time left. It was like now. That doesn't mean
necessarily that he didn't build up to something. Did he have a heart or lung condition? Okay. Let
me keep going. Yes. I think his name's Mike unless it sounds like that. Okay. No, no, no, no, no. I
feel like his name's Mike. Grandchildren call him Papa. Does that make sense to you? Okay.
Can you come up to the mic? He says, I'm Papa Mike. You understand that? Okay. Your daddy's
little girl. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Very attached to you. Loves you very much. He says you keep
asking him for signs and he keeps sending them, but you're just not watching. That's what he's
telling me. He's taking it light. I want you to know how much your dad loves you. First and
foremost, you're his baby girl. You are his heart. And you know that. It's so deep that I think
leaving you was the hardest part of going. Once he got there, he was thrilled to be there.
He liked being out of his body, actually. He also liked showing up and hanging out a little bit.
He does flash the TVs or the lights or something's flashing. He wants you to recognize that.
He's a very hardworking man. You understand that? A lot of integrity and character,
and he believed in doing the right thing. Does that make sense to you? Now, he didn't do it
perfectly. And he's admitting to that. He's holding his hand up like I blew it in some places,
but I tried. I did my best. Do you understand? And I don't need to go into detail about the
things he didn't do right. That's unnecessary. But I do want to say that he recognizes and
acknowledges that he's telling me that he's so glad you're here and that he wanted to tell you
how much he loved you. He has a very open mind for certain things, but not this. I just want to
say that. He did not do this. So he's pretty in shock right now. You know, like what's going on?
I told him he would be. I said, when you get there, you'll understand.
Oh, well, that's why he's saying it. I'm like, why is he saying this to me? Because he's talking
to me. So that makes total sense. He's talking about a rose, a rose. So white roses are coming
in front of me, which means anniversary or it could mean birthday, but there's something about
of white roses. Do you understand? I don't understand the rose. I have a birthday coming
up next month. Okay. So it's my signal for a birthday or anniversary. It has nothing to do
with the rose itself. So he's acknowledging your birthday coming up. If it's within a couple of
three weeks, I'm okay. If we go further out, no, we're going to find it. I'm not looking to find
it. I'm looking to be correct information. Okay. So he's just acknowledging that your birthday is
coming and that he'll be there. Light a candle for him, not just you. He hangs out. Does he like
jazz? Well, let me just say this instead of asking the question. He's playing jazz in my head.
Okay. So I don't know if it's like he's jazzing up the birthday song or what he's doing here,
but he likes, he's playing jazz in my head, whether he liked it or not, he's playing it.
You understand that something happened with his heart. I know you said esophagus,
but something happened here. Something was off. At the end, it was his heart.
Okay. That's what I was looking for because I was kind of like a little bit leery about
the information when I don't get that accurate because usually that is. All he wants you to
know is how much he loves you and he loves the kids. That's what he's saying. I love my grandkids.
So I love them. Did they call him Papa Mike? Papa Mike. Yep.
Okay. And I asked him to come through today too. And of course I said, if you want to,
if you, if you could, that would be awesome. Well, I don't think he really wanted to.
No, I don't think he wanted to. Like, I think that he's super resistant to this and he's like
pulling, I'm pulling teeth, you know, and I can feel it. So he might not have been a super
talkative guy, but I can't feel that because I'm pulling teeth. You understand? Yeah, for sure.
I, my oldest drives now. And I always tell my dad, I said, you go with her, like, please go with her
because I can't and you can. So I always send him with her when she drives.
Oh, that's wonderful. And I would say to you that he's watching very carefully.
She better not pick up her phone. That's all I have to say.
That's it. That's all he wanted to say to you. He just wanted to give you all the love he could
give you and let you know that you asked for him to come and he showed up. He wasn't going to let
you down. You're his baby princess girl. He's like, my princess is what he's saying. So that
makes sense to you. Good. I hate pulling people up to the mic, to be honest, because I feel like
it puts you on the spot. I don't usually do it. Usually I asked if I could drag this, but it
doesn't drag. Usually I'll come to you. I have a mother that I feel like Diane or something that
has that sound? Yes. You're Diane. Okay. Your mother passed. Okay. Was she sick? Okay. I think
it's her. Let me just get a little bit more information. Your mother, does she like to
control things? No. Are you sure? Because she's telling me she liked to know everything that was
going on in your life. Maybe. She's not saying maybe. She's saying she keeps an eye. Okay. So
she's either very protective or very controlling one or the other. Does that make sense to you?
Okay. Maybe never works for me. It would mean that I would pass on. Okay. So I want to be sure. Was
your mom protective of you? Was she connected to like Mary, Marianne, Marianne, Margaret,
something like that? Can you keep it? You'll find it. Don't go searching for it, but it'll come to
you. Okay. Cause she's telling me she's connected to somebody with that, that sound. All right.
Okay. I'm hoping I have the right. Is there someone else that's connected?
Is there a Diane or Ann connected to her? Oh, okay. I'm sorry. I tried. I tried. Come on.
Yeah, because she was insisting on it.
Yeah, yeah, there's like a little personality issue there.
She liked being right.
If she wasn't right, she wasn't happy.
Oh, exactly.
Yeah, okay.
This is, I'm so sorry.
My apologies.
And her name was?
Mimi.
Okay, yeah.
Or Miriam or Margaret.
And you're Donna, which I thought was Diana or Diane.
Okay, very good.
Your mom wants you to know that she owes you an amends
and she's sorry that she was always making life difficult on you. I also feel like dying wasn't
easy for her either. It sounds to me like you went through a lot. She wants to tell you how
sorry she is for that. And she knows that she sees it from a different angle. You know, keep in mind
they're not sorry when they raise their vibration back as Anita was talking about when they're on
that vibration, they just feel love, but I'm bringing them down in order to talk to you.
And you wouldn't recognize if I said, your mother's a loving angel, who's gentle and
sweet.
You'd go, that's not my mom.
So they have to show me who they were in order for me to connect in.
Your mother does like the garden.
She says she spends time in the garden.
So I want to remind you of that.
When you go out into the garden, she'll be out there.
I would watch for, which we don't see anymore, but ladybugs.
She's talking about ladybugs.
Lovely.
Okay.
when she's telling me to tell you that she's sending them she's doing her best and i would
look for a green one which i don't even know if there's anybody yeah in georgia they do yeah
oh and i'm from georgia so okay oh wow yeah they bite though okay she had dementia and she chased
me with a knife let her tell me okay i want her to tell me because this woman wants to apologize
okay did you also have trouble with the family or have something go on with the family after she
passed because she's like stomping her foot, like didn't expect it. And I'm thinking in my head,
why wouldn't you expect it? The way you behaved is how you taught them. She says, she's very proud
of how you handled it. You did everything you could to keep peace. And it probably didn't work
the way you would have liked it to. That's not, yeah. But she says, she's very proud of you for
trying, but you also have a very strong personality and you held your ground. And she said, she's
proud of you for that. Now your mom's not one to tell you how proud she is of you. So this is news
for you. Yeah, I know. She is just really warm right now. And she wants you to know how much
she loves you and that she sees your soul, which is something she couldn't see beyond her own on
this planet. There's a little bit of narcissism in her. I'm right, you're wrong. It's about me.
and she doesn't have that anymore. And she wants you to know that she loves to come in your room
and sit by your bed. So I would acknowledge that for her. If you feel your bed moving down or any
movement on your bed, they love to do it, but she's actually telling me point blank, I do it.
Okay. She also will go past you and be like that, but there will be nothing there. So please
remember that also. She cared about how it looked on the outside, but inside you close that door.
i don't know you understand that she did believe in the afterlife i'm seeing that i just don't know
what what her choices were she just wants you to know that she had it kind of twisted up and
she sees it now very clearly do you have any questions for your mom well i have five sisters
and there was squabble it with the sisters when she passed and she gave my one of my baby sister
like a lot of money and then left us to split it cause big family drama but my mama never
i can ever recall her saying i love you to me and she did it to my baby sister in front of us but
never told us or sis my other sisters that she loved us and so yeah i want to know why what
she's telling me is you all knew who she was and the baby one didn't the baby one just gave her
love and knew how to treat her the way she wanted to be treated and you all were honest to her
yes you saw and so she wasn't going to give you credit
because it was either her way or yeah her way or the highway but you saw through her
Your little sister acted like she didn't to survive what went on in that household.
That's what I'm hearing.
So that's why she got the kudos.
She got the extra.
She doesn't love them anymore than she loves you.
She understands love on a completely different level playing field that we don't even understand unless we've been there.
this planet doesn't have a lot of it but she's telling me she knows your soul she does love you
she's also making amends I'm really big on them not saying I'm sorry I'm sorry doesn't mean
anything I'm sorry is easy let me smack you sorry you know let me take from you sorry
i was wrong means you're mending the behavior it's a true amends and i hear her saying i was
wrong i never tell anybody i don't hear because i'm dishonoring them and they'll just disconnect
from me so i want to be clear about that she liked to do the menial things but she also liked
everybody working for him exactly yeah and she's saying she didn't she wasn't a mom she wasn't a
and she's trying to be now and if you just open that door just a little bit i think you're going
to feel a lot from her and watch for those little green ladybugs i've never seen one in my life
okay okay well thank you for that she says i love you so she no longer has dementia oh no no no this
is all physical body so just to make sense of this in everything this is how i look at it first
of all, we leave our physical bodies and people think, well, our brains go with us. That's a
falsehood. Our heart has 40,000 neurons, has memory capacity, has learning capacity. Our soul
seats in our heart and the soul and the heart go with them. And what does the heart always want to
know? What does it always remember? Love. The brain is full of gunk and crap and all this stuff,
all this shit we learn here but the heart is not that's why the soul never gets damaged they
created it the heart can the heart can get broken but the soul's right there fixing it up
you know well you were right about she didn't let go she was in a coma for two weeks and
we didn't think she'd ever die i mean that sounds bad but and she was happy about that
She was like, I'm going to give them their last little torture.
Yeah.
And she cried out in a coma.
She was screaming in a coma and she just wouldn't let go.
And we kept saying, okay, we forgive you.
We forgive you.
We forgive you.
But she needed to look at herself.
You know, I call it getting on the bus.
I used to work for hospice.
And when the hospice workers would leave, I'd say, you know, they're getting on the bus.
And then, you know, a lot of the hospice workers started saying those things.
like, oh, they're getting on the bus. And while they're getting ready to get, getting ready to
get on the bus, not getting on the bus and they're standing in line, they're going to hold on to who
they were. They're going to like, let me just give her a little bit more. Let me just give her a
little bit more. And that's kind of your mom. Your mom wanted you to feel guilt. She loved guilt.
Oh yeah. Guilt was her power place. Oh, exactly. Not anymore. She wants you not to feel any guilt
and to know that she loves you. And she's sorry that you were happy that she left, but she
understands. I wasn't happy with it. I would say you might've been. Yeah. Yeah. I might've been.
Yeah. Okay. Thank you. You're welcome. Most of us have no idea how to move through loss.
There's no roadmap to follow when you're trying to navigate grief. And I realized this when I
lost my son three years ago. As a therapist who understood grief, a whole new level of pain
opened up to me when I lost my 16 year old son. And since then, I have been building resources
that have allowed me to navigate through loss, not only in a healthy way, but in a way that
has transformed me for the better. We can move through the most terrible loss with grace. And
that's why I have created the course, Good Grief, Healing from Loss with Love. You can find it on
my website, drlauraberman.com, right there on the homepage, as well as free resources,
letting you know how to support others who are going through loss. None of us has to do this
alone. I have an overdosed child. She feels like an empath who shifted into, this feels like
fentanyl and heroin or fentanyl and like OxyContin. Does that make sense to you? Okay. She's not
giving me, is she stubborn? Okay. It's probably her. Cause I'm going, what's your name?
She's like, I'm not telling you. Okay. What is your name? Nancy. Okay. Let me just see. Let me
see if I can click into that. Let me keep going. She's connected to a J name, maybe Jessica or
Jonathan or something like that. There's a connection there for her. Yes and yes. Okay.
Somebody has her ring. There's a ring on a finger. Do you have a ring that you have of hers? Okay.
it's you. So this was a little sweet little kid, very, very outgoing and very, very much had her
own ideas of what things should look like. Always everything was a little bit difficult,
but she was a cute, sweet little kid. She was a cutie pie, right? She got into drugs and it was
a battle from the moment she got into them. It wasn't a short-term thing. It was a long-term
thing. I don't know how long you know she was using, but I see her at a young age starting
like in her early teens. And she's saying that she lied and manipulated. And she's saying,
mama, I'm so sorry what I put you through. She acted like she was going to get well.
So it tells me she either went into a facility or lied to you. Yes. And I think she did it more
than once because I feel like there's a cycle here. And she's telling me to tell you that
she's sorry because she did lie to you. She was using most of the time, even when she'd go in
the facility. She'd get out quick and use right away. She said she knew the right words to say.
And she said, she knows she broke your heart. And she's telling me to tell you how sorry she is for
the damage she caused. She actually has a beautiful energy. She truly does. You want to be around her.
She's funny. She can be the life of the party. She walked in the room and do her little Michael
Jackson dance or whatever that is she did. I can just see it. I want to move. Love music,
loved life but wanted to sedate herself for other reasons you know addiction really she had the
disease it runs in your family and she caught it she is on the other side with a male this may be
your father or a grandfather of yours because he's older i can feel the age who loved you deeply
and loved the family and he's really like kind of cool i like him a quiet but cool you know he's
kind of a nice guy, but I have a feeling he liked to drink. I'm positive, but I think he did. And I
think that's what she's trying to show me. She's with him and she's picking that up from him. So
she got her disease process from him. So he's there for her taking good care of her. I think
she liked tattoos also. I see tattoos. You understand that? Kind of. Did she have a boyfriend
that got tattooed on her, on him or something?
She wanted a tattoo and didn't.
Well, I don't know if she got one right before she passed.
She did.
Yeah, she did.
You didn't want her to have one,
but don't paint your body and put that crap on your body.
You can't get it removed as I stand here.
Still I rise, Maya Angelou.
she wants to tell you she appreciates what was said about her that beautiful things were said
about her and she's not certain she deserved them all but she says that you are suffering deeply
from the loss of her that you just want your baby girl back and she says I'm not gone I'm not gone
who took her sweatshirt I did okay when you wear it she's going to pop in
okay so i want you to remember that also whatever it is you're kissing
you understand this comment she's seeing you she's like okay i'm giving you a kiss back
and she wants you to always remember she's doing that so whenever you want it whatever this is
picture what is it it's um a rose quartz art oh i love it all right so she's seeing you kiss it
and she wants you to know she's never going to not see. Now they can't read your mind and they
can't see anything private. Thank God, because I'd be in the insane asylum. So I just want you
to know that they can't. So if you want them to talk to you and you want them to communicate with
you, you need to tell them. As Anita said, you have to let them know. Sometimes letting them
know is as simple as just saying, I want you here. Okay. Or having a thought about them.
But if you're not thinking about them, they're not going to come in and take over.
They're not watching you in the shower, in the bathroom.
They're not watching you in bed.
That's not happening.
She'd like to, though.
She'd like to.
She's nosy.
She is.
She's nosy.
She got very angry at you.
And she's telling me how much that harmed you when she left.
And she wants you to know that she didn't mean any of it.
Wonderful.
Do you have any questions for her?
Why is she saying the word grace?
are you not giving yourself grace i think i am why she's saying it then what would be her reason
for saying grace or gracie grace sure i'd keep it probably you're going to go somewhere on the
back of the license plate you're going to see grace i think of that word a lot and i was actually
singing a song with that word today thank you that's why she's saying it okay she's letting
You see how when you share, the dots connect?
Yeah, if you told me you did it last month, I'd say no.
She's not talking about that.
It was on the way here.
The lyric was, shine your grace upon me.
She heard you.
That's what she's trying to tell you.
She heard you.
So please remember that.
She hears you.
She loves you so much.
And I'm so sorry for your loss.
The worst thing I see, all loss is equivalent.
But the worst pain I see is the loss of a child. I see it five times a week, sometimes eight and
nine hours a day. People like to say that we're vampires, you know, meeting vampires. They like
take people's money and do this and do that. We are vampires. We take in all your pain.
We suck it in. And then we pray to God we can get rid of it and let it go because it hangs on for
a while sometimes. There are times I go home and I bleed. That's how I feel. I feel like I'm
bleeding. And there's times I go home and I'm so grateful I could give that information that my
whole world shifts and I'm happy and joyful. Your loved ones have not left you. If this is not
evidence of that, I don't know what can be because I don't know any of you. I've never spoken to you.
So keep that in mind. When they come to bring you something, a lot of times they'll pop stuff
in your head, they'll say, I would do this and this and this, mom. And you go, that's what I
think they'd say. You just told them that you're not going to listen the next time. That's what
you just told them. So whether you're right or wrong, or it's them, or if it's not them, if you
say thank you for that, they go, she's listening. She's listening. The difference between me and
you is I give everything I get right or wrong. I get my ego out of it and I give it and I pray
to God it's correct information for you, for you, so that you can verify they're here.
But that's the difference. You're getting the messages in your head. You're hearing them.
No one in this room can tell me they've never heard something coming through, but you push
it aside and say, I probably think they'd say that, or you're busy doing something and so you're
pushing it out. I don't do that. I give what I get and I say what I hear. And that's how I connect
in and they know that. So what they do is they bust, you know, I was going to say bum rush me,
but I don't know how else to say it. They're like, information comes in and it's just because they
love you. They want you to know that they're trying to communicate with you. They're not going
anywhere. They are on a different vibrational energy. It's that simple. Actually, Anita was
talking about this and I just loved everything she said because it made so much sense to my soul.
but I look, I see it this way. I tell the story of the sloth and you picture a sloth on the ground
and you're the sloth. Then you picture a hummingbird and then the middle, someone like
me or Anita or other people who do this work, we're kind of the butterfly. We vibrate a little
higher. So think of those three vibrations. Now with grief, that sloth is barely moving.
It barely moves anyway. And I love sloths, by the way, but it's barely moving. That butterfly or
that hummingbird has probably gone around that sloth 50 times before it has the opportunity to
move its head and think about a sloth and look up and see it. So you're missing a lot more than you
think you are. That's okay. They know that. So they're going to keep coming, but don't deny that.
So me, I'm kind of the butterfly. I'm like in between. I don't hear it all,
but I hear a little bit more. So it makes it easier for me.
But that doesn't mean it can't happen for you. So I'm asking you as the sloth to take your time,
but don't discount when you feel like that hummingbird's buzzing around you
because they are definitely there in vibration and they're just high.
They're just high vibration. They're not high, high. They're high vibration.
okay I have time for Q&A nobody has any questions I've not really a question I just want to thank
you and I just want to testify my husband passed away a year and a half ago and he has sent me
all kinds of things light flickering there was a bird for a month tapping on my window with his
beak and his wings for a month. I love that. And when I go hiking, birds dive at my head,
hummingbirds, lights flickering at my place and at my sister's place. And I thank him every time,
even though sometimes it brings a tear, but now I'm really loving it. And so I just wanted to
testify because I see it and I feel it and I trust it. And I'm being guided by him and I've
been documenting it now without, I don't, I'm not always fast enough, but I've been taking pictures
and I don't know what I'm going to do with that yet, but I've been capturing it all. Yeah. And
it's, it's just been lovely. And it's, um, I mean, the death hasn't been lovely. That was a horrendous
way that he left. And, um, his, the, the journey we took was pretty horrible for both of us,
But now I'm just trying to take the bright side or see the silver lining or find the good things that are coming to me, the blessings in it. And that's part of it. So thank you. And just wanted to testify that it's all those little things you see is real.
You know, they can only use so many things, right? Because we're not going to pay attention
to everything. I'm not going to pay attention to if somebody flushes the toilet, if I'm standing
in the bathroom. You know what I mean? So they can only use so many things. So there's some
repetition. There's some repetition with a birthday. So for me, birthday, I either see a
flower or I see a balloon and I will only go three weeks out one way or the other because
otherwise we'll find it. So every time there's a birthday, I'm going to see that. And so it
seems repetitious, but that's the only way they can get you to recognize and honor them is that
repetition. If they're not giving you repetition, you're going to toss it away. So you're going to
get a lot of repetitive things and that's good. And the more you acknowledge it, the more you get
it. And then when they realize you've totally got it, they'll move to the next kind of thing to show
you, which is what you're telling me. That's lovely. He's come in my dreams a couple of times
and they both have been very direct, short, sweet to the point. So yeah, that's probably not a dream
if you remember every detail. The difference between dreams and visitations are the dreams
are real. People tell me, I touched them. I talked to them. I felt them. I know they were there.
That's the difference. In a dream, you go, I had the most bizarre dream.
That's the difference of what we feel. And also, just so you know, so there are guides,
there are angels and they come as we understand them. I understood angels. I can tell the
difference between a loved one by the love. So when people say to me, how do you know that's
not an angel in this room right now? How do you know it's not my guide? I go, because
you're telling me you feel that intensive love. It's a different feeling. So always keep that in
mind. Thank you. Thank you. Hi. So I did have a question. One of the descriptions you were
saying about a sister yes it matched my sister completely I had I feel like I had a message
from her at some point that I relate to my mom but I just want to know is she okay
is she mad at me we got into it I know you did I want to know she's mad at me do you want another
I'm going to ask her, and I can't tell you what she's going to say,
but I'm going to be honest with you.
Is that okay?
Well, first of all, they don't carry our brains,
so they don't feel those kinds of feelings.
If they did, it wouldn't be a place to go.
Secondly, what she feels for you is immense love.
She loves to lay next to you in bed.
and there's no anger at you at all she says she deserved it she was being a shit's what she's
saying but what i want you to know is that she doesn't feel those feelings all they feel is love
the only reason i'm getting the other stuff is so you recognize them it's not because they feel
that way they're on a lower vibration but she had a drug issue
she overdosed fentanyl okay just so you know honey she didn't suffer she's okay and she loves
you with all her heart she's showing me walking behind you i see her walking beside you and mostly
behind you she likes to watch what you're doing she hasn't left you she's gone nowhere trust that
okay. Anything else you want to ask? She was rowdy. Lord almighty. She's like, where are the
tattoos? Where are they doing? What are they doing for me? She's like, rowdy. In a good way,
too, though. You know, in a fun way. She's fun. I want you to know that she's not going anywhere,
Are you driving your car watching your phone?
Busted.
She's in a car.
Whose car are you in?
I will.
Okay, we'll leave that one.
We're going to leave that.
Any questions?
Remember what I said about the phone?
Hi. I just want to say that when I was up here, I couldn't think of anything. And then I remembered
last night I was driving and I was talking to my daughter, hands-free. I wasn't on the phone
with the car. And right before that, I told her, I said, oh my God, I just called my dad.
So I still have his number in my phone. Obviously, it doesn't go anywhere. And I looked down and it
literally said Papa Mike. And I called him. And then I hung up and I was talking to my daughter
and I said, I just called my dad. And I said, I really wish I could call him. I just want to
talk to him. I just, and she said, you could talk to him anytime. And I'm like, but I don't like
that because I can't hear him. And like, I forgot about that. And like, he literally came through
the next day and I didn't even think of it. Like when I was up there, I didn't even remember that
I did that. So I appreciate the message. And I was, I was just going to say like, I think they
do send us signs and sometimes we're not paying attention or it's not the one we asked for. And
And yeah, so just, I love everything you shared about being more open and watching for the
signs.
Thank you.
People come to me and they're either come in like, I don't believe, or they come to
me with that one thing they have to hear in order to trust the message.
They're probably giving it to me, but I'm having a human experience and I can't hear
everything.
I wish I could.
And so I always try to remember that.
And I try to tell people that don't look for that one thing.
You'll miss the whole message.
So, and sometimes when you don't look for it, you get it.
We're open.
Thank you so much.
You're welcome.
So much.
So a couple of months before my dad passed away, I asked him if he passed away, if he
would give me a sign so that I would know it was him.
And so he jokingly said that he would be waving a flag.
So I thought, okay, well, I think about it and I'll get back to you.
and then I never asked him, and then he passed away. And I kind of discounted that one. But then
we were at the cemetery a week after he passed away, and there was this gust of wind, and it
felt kind of like a hug. And then there was a tree that was waving in the wind. And I said,
oh, maybe that's the flag. And then my husband pointed out that there was a flag at the cemetery
waving. And then my daughter found a marker on the grave marker waving. I thought, okay,
maybe that literally is a flag. So I was like, okay, well he said that. So maybe it really is
like a flag waving. So is that like something that like, he's not the flag waving. He's not
the flag waving, but he's sending me the flag waving. I would absolutely say yes. Okay. I would
absolutely say yes. Now don't think that he won't do other things too though. No, like yesterday,
I don't know if you heard, but yesterday, like I was having lunch with a friend and my birthday's
today. And yesterday I was having lunch with a friend and this guy walked by and he looked like
my dad and I made eye contact with him. He came over and I took a picture of him and I told him
and I started crying because he looked like my dad. Like it's pictures are really, it's younger,
but like very similar. So I felt like my dad sent me him to wish me a happy birthday.
I'm certain he did. I didn't hear anything. I went into the green room when anyone spoke and I sat
and talked with people so we couldn't hear.
So I'm trying to be open
because I felt like that really was what he did
because that was like, yeah.
I would say to you that if you sense it in here,
trust that intuition.
That's what gets you closer to them
is trusting what you're getting.
Part of the problem is we don't trust it
and I do, so I can read.
But start trusting that.
This has really helped me a lot
Because I realized for the first time in 23 years, I'm not momming.
And I don't know where Justin is.
But what you and Anita have said has really helped me.
But I did go to the cemetery on Thanksgiving.
And I feel like we had this joke, and people spoke about it at his service,
that I was like the give everybody's kid a ride home mom.
and I feel like the cemetery is the last place I dropped him off.
It's the last place I dropped him off.
So what are your thoughts on going to the cemetery?
They're for you.
If you go and you ask him to come, he'll come.
But he's not sitting at the cemetery in a casket.
That's not happening.
That's his body.
He is on the other side in love and light.
But if you go there and you say, come and meet me there,
he will come and meet you there.
so the thought that they might be sitting at a cemetery all alone waiting for people to visit
them is pretty horrifying to me but i know that it's a place to honor them or you and so it's
fine either way just make sure you invite him i mean you go with the intention for him to be there
but i would still invite him in all right everybody thank you so much for being spending this time with
me.
